Also, tonight, according to a bombshell report, and this is a bombshell, from foxnews. Com, the fbi was contacted by over 40 confidential Human Sources over the years, all with criminal allegations against joe biden, hunter biden, and james biden, all dating back to joes term and time as vicepresident. So the question is, how did the fbi respond . They did nothing. And, by the way, Charles Grassley sent the fbi director and the Attorney General a long letter today demanding answers. Chairman jim jordan, whos also been investigating this from the House Judiciary Committee will join us with a lot more. By the way, did you all hear we have a new speaker today . Now, johnson is a constitutional attorney. He is relatively new to the swamp in washington. I view that as a plus. But has developed a strong conservative track record. 92 rating from the american conservative union. 92 rating from the nra, backed by former president donald trump. Johnson is a huge proponent of decentralizing our federal government, protecting your children from woke predators, securing our southern border, strengthening americas immigration laws, vowing to make this a top priority. But his very first act as speaker was a Resolution Backing israel and condemning Terrorist Group Hamas. [cheers and applause] sean now, nine democrats voted against measure including all of what i call the hamas caucus led by Terrorist Sympathizer congresswoman talib. Socialist jamaal bowman, remember him, voted it. Today bowman was charged with a misdemeanor for pulling the fire alarm at the capitol complex. Oh, i didnt know it was a fire alarm. Said fire alarm as he pulled it. Anyway that happened a few weeks ago in what was an apparent attempt to delay an important vote. Now, i tell you this, if he were a republican or a trump supporter or his last name were trump, he would likely be facing 20 years to life rise now for multiple felonies but in bidens Weaponized Doj Heavy handed punishment is reserved only for joes political opponents. Tonight without a doubt there are a lot of very serious challenges that Speaker Mike Johnson will need to address. This caucus needs to learn a lesson. They will win together or they will lose together. Theres not going to be some winners and some losers in the republican party. And the American People win if they win, because conservative values are far superior to the left and their radical new Green Deal Climate Alarmist Cult Agenda of radical socialism. Perhaps none more pressing than the chaos and the violence that is unfolding in the middle east, in large part i would argue part of our problem in the middle east is because of your president , joe biden. Our country is now sleep walking into potentially another major war. This can engulf the entire region and for the past two weeks American Military personnel, they have come under attack all over the region. Dozens are now injured. Ten Americans Still being held hostage by hamas, over 30 americans were killed. Many others murdered less than three weeks ago. That date, october the 7th. And yet joe biden, your commander in chief, doesnt really seem to have a plan or a strategy or even the ant to answer simple questions. It was billed all day. Joe biden Press Conference. It lasted all of nine minutes and he took a whooping three questions. Take a look. I want to thank the israeli and the palestinian excuse me, president of egypt. We have troops in the region since 9 11 to go after isis and to prevent reemergence and both anyway, in that region. Are hostages in jeopardy if there is a Ground Invasion . You want to make a speech . No, look, obviously theyre in jeopardy rather than Anything Else. Oh, ill get to that. Okay. Pbs. We have a request for a calling. Thank you. Thank you. Joe took three questions. It lasted nine whole minutes while most news outlets were focused on the election of the new house speaker. And today, well, our brand new speaker, mike johnson, said that the world is a better place with a Strong America. I couldnt agree more, i couldnt be in more agreement. Johnson is right. But, unfortunately, under joe biden there is no strength, there is no leadership, there is no morale clarity. We had World Leaders when he was in the middle east. They said no to a meeting with the president of the United States of america, even countries that we give a billion or more dollars to a year. Instead, what we have is now very transparent to anybody with eyes to see. A mumbling bumbling incoherent, frankly cognitive mess, as our president , trying his best to read talking points from his woke white house staffers. Thats not cutting it. Make no mistake, there is a lot of evil in this world. There are terrorists that revel in the murder of even little innocent babies and the elderly. There are many others who excuse or celebrate what are barbaric acts of terror and there is the Islamic Republic of iran behind all of it. America needs the strongest toughest leader willing and able to punish our enemies, restore peace through strength, and that means America Regaining and retaking its role on The World Stage as the worlds leader. Joe biden is not that guy. He doesnt have the mental aptitude. He doesnt have the morale clarity. He doesnt have the moral courage. He is a creature of the washington swamp. He doesnt even know today is wednesday. You see him decaying right before our very eyes. Our country deserves better and i fear that many troubling days are ahead. The 2024 president ial election, it cant come soon enough. Joining us now with an update whats going on in the middle east on the ground in israel, our very own Trace Gallagher. Trace, i want to get your update. Also, talk about maybe some movement with hostages in terms of negotiation. Why do i suspect, when were dealing with terrorists, that theyre probably trying to buy time and they dont want the Ground Incursion to begin. However, i do hope that there would be progress and these people returned to their families. I think they are trying to buy time sean and thats one of the sticking points here h you have the government of qatar actively negotiating with both hamas and israel and the government qatar believes that they want this to be a big hostage release. Right . They dont want one of the sticking points is they dont want two or four hostages released at a time, because that allows hamas to buy all kinds of time. Theres 220 hostages still being held, which means, if youre releasing them in dribs and drabs, youre talking about maybe delaying for weeks possibly months. So what qatar is working on is a bigger deal. They want dozens released simultaneously, maybe 50, up to 70. There was talk as early as a couple of days ago that this deal would go forward. Now here we are, and it seems to be stuck. And, of course, one of the other big sticking points is delaying the ground war. Theres been a lot of confusion about that, because the Wall Street Journal came out today saying that is reel had agreed to delay the ground war, but it was in an effort to let the u. S. Bring Missile Defense systems into the middle east to protect u. S. Forces, who had been attacked, by the way, 14 times by iranian proxies over the past week, some 24 Service Members have been injured, and some of them suffering traumatic brain injury. But whats happening here with this delay and the Hostage Thing is, you had President Biden today was asked the question if he would support a delay in the ground war, and he said yes, he advises a delay in the ground war to get the hostages out. And the question is, is how much and how long will israel wait . Will they abide by this two or four at a time, or do they want more . We think theres going to be some movement on that, sean, sometime in the next 1224 hours. Thats what appears to be happening. The question now is the number that might be released. Sean and the question, trace, then becomes, well, how do you trust the people responsible for killing innocent men, women and children, extrapolate out the population of israel, 1400 dead. That would be the equivalent of losing 38,000 americans in a single day. How long would you give hamas, which is now the question people have to ask, the people that did kill the innocent people, the people that did take the hostages, how much trust could you ever put in them . I would argue probably none at all. But Anything Else on the ground there tonight were looking at and do we expect this incursion maybe to happen this week, or do you think it otherwise is delayed for other reasons as well . Obviously its becoming a 2front war in the north with lebanon, we have iran Saber Rattling threatening to get in, we have the hooties Firing Missiles, saudi arabia intercepted that were headed to israel and we discussed this Last Night Syria Firing Missiles into israel. Thats war on a lot of fronts, isnt it . And dont forget they had some hamas fighters that were actually willing to go by sea around the gaza border and then land on a beach. That was their hope to land on a beach in southern israel potentially to conduct more attacks. The question here kind of goes all the way to the top, sean, because one of the big topics we are dealing with tonight is what about these iranian proxies and what about iran . You have had President Biden say today that he told the ayatollah to watch yourself, or there would be consequences. You had Antony Blinken saying yesterday that if iran didnt stop, there would be consequences. They would defend u. S. Service members. And yet there have been 14 attacks, as weve just kind of told you about. And in one week, and we know that iranian proxies are the ones conducting these attacks and there have been no a priceals against iran and that becomes a bigger question is if youre talking about hamas and youre talking about hezbollah, who, at what point, talks about iran and what happens to iran . Does iran just have the ability to willynilly go after our troops in the region, mostly in iraq, sometimes in syria as well . Whats the stopping point. Whats the end point for the Biden Administration to do something, to Say Something so that iran knows, because these threats are apparently leading to that. Remember, its very important to know that joe bidens message, when he went to israel and he told benjamin netanyahu, his message to iran was dont. The problem is, sean, they did. And they keep doing. And that is not being, not being swayed in any direction that iran thinks right now is going to stop them from conducting this Ongoing Campaign against our troops in the middle east. Our own bill melugin, he is joining us with mofrment bill, im hearing as many as ten to 15 to 16 people could have been shot here. Whats going on. Yeah, sean, this is sounding very significant according to these initial reports. This apparently happened in Lewiston Maine about 35 miles north of portland. The local Sheriffs Office out there posting on facebook that theyre responding to, quote, two active shooter events. We dont know if that means two shooters or two different locations, but they have released photos of one of the gunmen theyre looking for right now. If we can pull that photo up right now, this appears to be taken off Surveillance Footage inside a Bowling Alley, were hearing potentially shootings at multiple locations, a man armed with some kind of a rifle there obviously aiming that rifle. We dont know how many people were shot or potentially injured at this location here. But the Sheriffs Office saying they are actively searching for this man. It is an active manhunt. They are advising local businesses to lock down, close their doors advising people in the area to shelter in place. A local hospital out there, the Central Maine Medical Center posting on social media saying they are responding to a Mass Casualty mass shooter event. They did not specify, however, though, any specifics on how many casualties were talking. Sean, i have seen those reports on social media, significant number of people shot. We dont want to put a number on it yet but, yes, this does appear to be a fairly significant shooting that has taken place in maine, so much so the maine governor has put out a statement saying she is aware of whats happening, has been briefed on it, is urging people to listen to local Law Enforcement, but the headline right now i think is, you have a hospital responding to a, quote, Mass Casualty incident. You have the Sheriffs Department saying that theyve got two active shooter events. Again, we dont know if that means multiple locations or multiple shooters. Youve got the governor advising people to stay indoors, listen to Law Enforcement. And that suspect, that gunman that youre seeing on the left side of your screen right now is still at large. Both the Sheriffs Office and Lewiston Police calling this an active manhunt. Again if youre just tuning in this is in Lewiston Maine about 35 miles north of the portland area. Again, this is Surveillance Footage that was released, and i apologize if i mispronounce this, the Sheriffs Office saying theyre looking for this guy again advising everybody to shelter in place and that they are responding to an active shooter. Two active shooter incidents. Were seeing reports on line that there may have been shootings at multiple locations. Again, this location appears to be a Bowling Alley, in some of of the pictures you can see some of the Bowling Balls off to the left. Looks like theyve got, you know, Halloween Decksration resist up, some spider webs in the window, perhaps families out there bowling, you can see some of the Bowling Balls there, some of the lockers. Again we do not have a hard number or a confirmed number on the amount of injuries, but based off what were hearing from Law Enforcement, from the governor, from the police and Hospital Systems out there, this is a live look at one of those hospitals. It does appear that there are going to be multiple casualties. You can see doctors out in the parking lot right now. We do not have any confirmed numbers in terms of fatalities let alone how many people were shot or are being treated right now but we know multiple hospitals are responding to this. And any time you hear the word Mass Casualty incident, that is never a good sign, sean. So unfortunately thats all weve got right now. Obviously with these Mass Shooting incidents details can be murky. As we wait for new information to come in, sometimes initial reports can be inaccurate but everything we just talked to you about is coming straight from Law Enforcement, straight from hospitals and straight from the governor of maine out there. So more details as they come into our news room sean. Send it back to you. Sean im checking a lot of other news sources and the number seems to have settled on 16 preliminarily preliminary numbers, we are working to confirm that and i urge people to please listen to law enforce well get back to you all throughout hour stand by. There are reports of this Mass Shooting, the suspect not in custody as bill just said but the manhunt is underway now with more reaction, Fox News Contributor ted williams. Ted, we see the Surveillance Footage of the shooter. Hes obviously at large. Hes obviously dangerous. Hes obviously killed a number of people. From a Law Enforcement standpoint, how do you go about, you know, creating the best case scenario, which is getting him as quickly as possible before he finds other people. Well, sean, what you have now is all hands on deck there in that Lewiston Maine area. They have the video of this one person that youre talking about here. They see that person as being a white male with a long rifle, the suspect. The big question that is not answered is how many other individuals are actually involved. Is it just one single individual . So what theyre doing is theyre trying to find and make that determination. And one of the things that theyre using is any video feeds thats in that area. They also talking to as many witnesses as they possibly can. Sean if i can interrupt you for a second here. Fox. What we are he dealing here is clearly all indications are. Sean can i interrupt for a second. Unfortunately. Sean fox news has confirmed the number has gone quite higher now 22 confirmed dead as we speak. I know. I didnt want to interrupt you, but that just came across our news wire. Continue with what you were saying. By the way we now have let me give you one other thing if i may, if i can. Reportable per Law Enforcement, preliminary information is 22 dead, three locations, Walmart Distribution Center, a bar and a third location. Fbi supporting mobilized, Maine State Police taking the lead investigative role. Possible suspect is now in custody. So we do have some news on that front breaking as we speak as well. Go ahead, ted, pick it up from there. One of the things again that theyre trying to determine, even if theyve got a suspect in question, is, are there other individuals out there that are also actively involved. As you know, theyve asked everyone in that vicinity to shelter in place, meaning to lock your doors, stay inside, left Law Enforcement do its job. So thats one of the things thats going on. I hope, sean, that youre absolutely right that there is somebody in custody. Because that clearly will tell Law Enforcement as to whether theyre looking at just one single individual, or if there are other individuals that they should be on the lookout for, or doing this unfortunate incident here in maine. Joining us now, we did have him booked for the election for mike johnson as the new speaker of the house, Newt Gingrich is with us, as you can see speaker once again we have a deadly shooting across the country, seems like the number of fatalities is going up rather quickly here. News is a bit sketchy. Your reaction to the initial reports here. Well, i mean, first of all its horrible. And i think that were going to have to really think through a better method of protecting people. Frankly, in states that have conceal carry and other permits, constitutional carry permits, you have a much more Rapid Response to these kind of people who are crazy. And we have no idea what this persons motivation was, but i think we have to assume, as we move forward, that people by the way, this also applies toss what happened in israel when hamas attacked. We have to have a greater ability for our citizens to protect themselves because its clear that Law Enforcement comes in after the massacre. But Law Enforcements almost never there to stop the massacre. This has been true in your op, its been true here, its been true in israel. So i think we have to think through a whole new strategy because these kind of people are extraordinarily dangerous, willing to kill others, have no sense of decency and frankly you have to stop them as early as possible to minimize the loss of individual lives. Sean hundred percent. While i have you, mr. Speaker, let me ask you about mike johnson. I dont know if you watched his entire speech today. I did, and i found it extraordinarily impressive. I know hes maybe not as well known as some of the other people that were running for office. A pretty expansive check we did today was he has a good record, for someone america maybe isnt as familiar with to give a speech like that in that moment probably not having any idea a week ago he would be in this position i thought it was pretty spectacular. Your thoughts. Well, chris and i were both really impressed with how solid he is. I mentioned during your radio show earlier that we found out today that they both follow each other on facebook so that gives him some points with us. But i thought hes a very solid person. He has very solid values. Hes deeply religious. He has a great family. And i think that were going to discover that what he combines, which is really very important, is a solid conservative set of principles with a very moderate and reasonable approach to people so that he can actually unify people across ideological boundaries. Im really looking forward to seeing how he works, because what he said today was almost perfect. He wants the Committee Chairman to play bigger roles, he wants to decentralize so every member has a greater role to play. He sees himself as the coordinator of the whole house, not as a person whos going to dominate the house, and hes very, very smart. Everyone ive talked to today who knows him well is really impressed with his integrity, his philosophy, and how smart he is. Sean well, i dont know if youve had any background or experience with him. What are your biggest challenges, i always love your advice you give republicans often, and that is stick with the 90 ten issues, the 80 20 issues, the 70 30 issues. Stick with the basic fundamental promises that well go back to regular order as it relates to appropriation and budgeting. Certainly secure the border. Certainly remain energy independent. Certainly come out in support of israel. We are now looking at a potential powder keg in the middle east and our support will be critical. Holding iran accountable is going to take real leadership and a real commander in chief. Im not sure whether this president is up for that job, i actually believe he is not. So these are going to be very challenging times. The economy is doing very poorly. We have, you know, 62 of americans now living paycheck to paycheck. We have the highest 30year Fixed Rate Mortgages than weve had in decades. We have inflation that is now still through the roof, and even credit cards, some people using them for Bare Necessities and now having Interest Rates at up to 30 as we reported last night. These are tough times for people, mr. Speaker. Republicans need to show leadership here. Well, and i think what youre going to find is, first of all, speaker johnson understands that. He referred to it today. He understands from his many friends back in shreveport that life is hard. This isnt about the washington lobbyists twashington bureaucrats, the billionaires. This is about everyday folks in shreveport louisiana. And i think, as i saw Steve Scalise today was delighted to be introducing the louisiana speaker of the house, i think youre going to see that mike johnson is going to, in fact, focus excuse me hes going to focus on the Human Elements of how do we help real people, whether its gasoline prices, grocery prices, bringing down the cost of living, bringing down the inflation rate, getting back to a reasonable mortgage level. And, i can tell you right now, that the Republican Budget Committee members, have produced a 10year road map to get to a balanced budget in the next decade. And i think if the new speaker will work with that committee, he can create a framework within which the country will become much healthier, very, very rapidly. And i agree with you, by the way. Youre going to have to be real collisions with a very left wing and incompetent Biden Administration, and with a relatively leftwing senate. And, by the way, remember, i looked at this this evening and we were talking about it because shes so interested in how hes doing, this guys 51. Now, that means that the head of the senate, the head of the senate republicans, and the president , are all a generation older than he is. And i think that level of energy and youth and familyorientation with his four children, i think all thats going to play very well in the country. And i think that if he does truly distribute power to the Committee Chairs and allow the members to talk among themselves, youre going to find that he could potentially do a remarkable job over the next year and a half. We go back to our top story now, just Breaking News, fox news alert, we are monitoring this news out of maine where Law Enforcement sources now are telling fox news at this hour, 22 are now dead after a Mass Shooting at three separate locations. Now, were told a possible suspect may be in custody. So what we know is three locations, a Walmart Distribution Center, a bar, another undisclosed location, some have said this one part has not been confirmed, it might be a Bowling Alley, its in Lewiston Maine. We know the fbis supporting and has mobilized. Maine state police are taking the lead investigative role. We know a possible suspect is in custody. The hospitals in the area have declared this a Mass Casualty event. Residents are being told at this hour to lock their doors, shelter in place. And we also have this report from Maine State Police, quote, alert, there is an active shooter situation in the city of lewiston. Law enforcement is asking people to shelter in place, please stay inside your home with your doors locked. Law enforcement is currently investigating two locations at the moment. Again, stay off the streets, allow Law Enforcement to diffuse the situation. If any suspicious activity or individuals that you see, please call 911. Updates to follow. We are also getting reports, fox has not independently confirmed, of dozens also injured in these shootings. We go back to bill melugin for the very latest. Bill, whats going on . What have you picked up . Reporter sean right now were waiting for a potential Press Conference that could be moments away, the left side of your screen where we hope we will learn some of these new details and get those firmed up. But, yeah, unfortunately bad news since the last time we spoke about 15 minutes ago, a source, a Law Enforcement source telling fox news Jacqui Heinrich that the confirmed death toll right now from these matt shootings are at least 22 people dead so far again in three separate locations in Lewiston Maine. Again thats about 35 miles north of the city of portland. Were told those three different locations are a Walmart Distribution Center a bar and a third location. The local Sheriffs Office out there did put out these photos if we can pull them up once again of the manhunt. This is the guy theyre going after. This is the supposed gunman who appears to be inside of a Bowling Alley if you take a look at the signs behind and the bowling because to the left of the lockers. We dont have a confirmed if the third location of the shooting was a Bowling Alley but you can see it does look like he is in a Bowling Alley there armed with a rifle. The Sheriffs Office when they put the photos out said they were responding to two active shooter events. Again we dont know if that meant two shooters or two different Shooting Locations. We now know there were multiple Shooting Locations but as of 15 minutes ago they were calling this an active manhunt, they were still looking for this guy, they were advising locals and businesses to shelter in place, lock their doors, stay in their homes. The governor of maine, janet mills, she said shes aware of this incident, has been briefed on it, and urged locals to listen to their local Law Enforcement. A local hospital out there, the Central Maine Medical Center said they are responding to a, quote, masscasualty, massshooter event, thats one of the hospitals gearing up to receive patients. You can see a live picture on the right side of your screen right now, again doctors out in the parking lot, police in the parking lot. We have heard some initial reports that a suspect may be in custody, heavy emphasis on may. That has not been confirmed yet. Other reports still saying this is an active manhunt with a suspect still on the loose. But you can see on the left side of the screen right there, you know, that guy wasnt wearing a mask, he wasnt wearing a hat. Theyre going to have a pretty good look at his face. Again walks in there with some kind of a rifle. Thats obviously not a handgun hes got right there. Hes got a rifle. Hes pointing it walking into again what appears to be a Bowling Alley. And what were waiting for right now are some more confirmed numbers, details. Law enforcement source telling fox at least 22 dead but obviously were Hearing Reports of a lot more injured, potentially dozens more injured in shootings at multiple locations. Again, we do not know if it was only this guy on the screen right now, one shooter involved, or potentially multiple shooters involved at different locations. Were hoping to learn some of that information at this Press Conference were hearing is coming up in a few minutes. We dont know if thats going to be from the hospital or from Law Enforcement. But the moment that begins we will obviously dip into that live and listen to what we have to say. Were told that the fbi is responding and assisting but that its the Maine State Police taking the lead on this case. Obviously youre also going to have the atf respond eventually. Whether or not they take this gunman into custody alive or dead, theyre going to want to get that rifle hes got and run an Emergency Trace on it to figure out where he got it, how he gout, is it potentially a ghost gun . A lot of questions the atf will want to answer quickly as to why, how this happened, what the motive was, who this guy is. Unfortunately all those questions right now still up in the air as they always are with these horrible Mass Shooting Breaking News situations. But again, sean, unfortunately, 20 minutes ago we didnt have a confirmed number. We do now. Law enforcement sources telling fox at least 22 dead in multiple locations. Again, a Walmart Distribution Center, a bar, and a third location. We dont have that third location confirmed but you can see right here, it does appear that this man with this rifle is walking into what appears to be a Bowling Alley and is aiming that rifle and i pointed it out earlier, you can see what appears to be halloween decorations up. Looks like theyve got some Cotton Spider Webs in the window there. A wednesday night potentially families were there bowling with their kids and something apparently horrible has happened out there. Again, this is Lewiston Maine just for geographical perspective, its about 35 miles north of portland and were waiting for a potential Press Conference from either Law Enforcement or the hospital out there. But unfortunately, this number of cas equals keeps going up, sean, as we hear more, wait to hear more about potential injured people being taken to local hospitals were waiting to get a concrete number but unfortunately it appears a very significant Mass Shooting has taken place in multiple locations in Lewiston Maine this evening with at least 22 people dead. Fbi responding. Fbi assisting. Law enforce. Warning people shelter in place. Mixed reports as to whether or not that gunman, seen in the photos, is in custody or not. But for anybody fetching the lewiston area tonight, obviously stay inside, lock those doors, stay safe, dont answer the door for anybody until it is 100 confirmed that that guy is in custody and Law Enforcement feels there was nobody else involved. But a lot of questions right now, more questions than answers, and hopefully when this Press Conference gets underway, sean, well find out a little bit more. But thats all weve gotta. This moment here. Well continue obviously checking with our sources, checking social media and checking local Law Enforcement throughout in Lewiston Maine. Joining us now former fbi special agent nicole parker, Fox News Contributor ted williams is with us. Nicole let me start with you. When you read the words and we learn from Law Enforcement, the fbi is supporting, mobilizing, assisting, and the Maine State Police are taking the lead investigative role, what does that mean for the average person that is not well versed in Law Enforcement . So what that means is that this is a shooting that has occurred in a local jurisdiction, so the local Law Enforcement is going to have crime investigative responsibilities. The fbi is always going to respond when theres an active shooter to provide any assistance. The fbi, obviously, has exceptional resources and they are going to provide any assistance that they can. I have, myself, responded to a few active shooting events in south florida. This is standard procedure. And the key that i want to share with your audience right now, if theres anyone within the sound of my voice, the key is to stay calm. If you are near or around the shooter, the rule is, you run, you hide, and you fight. Your first option is to run, get away from the shooter. If you cannot get away from the shooter, you hide. You get behind a cement barrier, anything you can do to take cover. And if that is not an option, you fight. At this point we dont know for certain, based on your reports if the shooter is in custody. Everyone needs to shelter in place. Do not leave where you are. Stay somewhere safe. If you are in an area with Law Enforcement and you are facing Law Enforcement, you put your hands up, you raise your hands up so that they know that you are not the threat and you obey everything that Law Enforcement says. The key again to stay calm, run, hide, and fight. But the fbi is going to be there to provide support to the local Law Enforcement. Sean, this is awful. This is 22 casualties that we know of at this point. This is a very, very serious scene and there could be potentially three locations Law Enforcement has to manage all of them at this point. The first job of Law Enforcement is to stop the killing. Stop the killing, you stop the shooter. The next step is you stop the dying. Five minutes could save someones life. If there is someone between sound of my voice who has been shot, apply pressure to the Bleeding Point and that could potentially save someones life. Sean all right. Nicole, thank you. Stand by, well get back to you. Back to our friend ted williams. Ted, one thing we all know about maine, it is very rural. There are a lot of areas heavily treed that could provide a lot of cover for somebody and that, therefore, creates a whole new challenge for Law Enforcement. How would you preach that . How is Law Enforcement going to approach that . Well, you know, youre right, sean, it does present a problem for Law Enforcement when you look at the area in which these shootings have taken place. But, what Law Enforcement is doing as best they can is doing what we define as a grid search. Meaning that theyre using whatever video feeds from many of the barriers there to try to determine what location the shooter was in. Now, we know that there were at least three different crime scenes here, and as a result of that, the big question that we dont have that answer, and perhaps were going to learn it in the news conference, is, was it only one shooter or do they have other shooters that they are out there looking for. This is a manhunt. So what you have is a control situation here where you have federal agents, not only the fbi but atf is also there on the scene assisting local Law Enforcement. And as nicole said, because this is a situation that happened in lewiston, maine there, the local authorities are the ones who are going to be in charge. But you must just remain in your homes, locked in. Wait until theres an allclear. We dont have that yet. The suspect or suspects may very well be in custody, but we really dont know that. So what were going to have to wait here is for the Press Conference to get more information. But one of the good things about it is that they have on video, they have at least one suspect and they know what he looks like, they know what kind of weapon he has and thats very important and instrumental in bringing this to some closure here tonight. But 22 casualties, thats just such a sad, sad situation to have taken place. And one of the things we always want to know, sean, in these matters, is what was the motive. Perhaps they would be able to tell us something at this Press Conference and maybe the investigation certainly has continued and they may not have that information at this time. Theyve identified what they believe are three locations where these shootings took place, a Walmart Distribution Center, a bar, another undisclosed location. Some have said, our own bill melugin suggesting that picture right there shows a Bowling Alley. Conflicting reports about one possible suspect in custody, but the local hospitals have, in the area of lewiston, maine, said that this is now officially a masscasualty event. Residents again, just for general knowledge, have been advised to lock their doors, shelter in place. We bring in former governor and former un ambassador and now president ial candidate nikki haley is with us. Usually its fun to have you on, this obviously changes the mood of the country tonight, 22 people. Thats a lot of people. What bothers me, and i can literally probably count the seconds before an incident like this becomes politicized and that part of it i never like. Because thats not going to bring back lives. And then i always ask the question, when Something Like this happens, what is your plan . What do you do . I have a personal security plan. I train in mixed martial arts. Ive been a big believer in the Second Amendment for a long time with the prayer that i would never happen to use it. Maine happens to be a rural area where people tend to be involved in outdoor sports. So i would imagine a lot of people are going to have a lot of defense issues. But the bigger question, what do you see as the underlying cause as a lot of these shootings. First of all sean ill tell you the world is on fire. We see it. We see it with wars around the world, we see it in our schools, with protests on College Campuses, were seeing it here. But what does this come down to . We have got to start really getting focused and serious. That means we need serious law and order. That means that we need to defund sanctuary cities. But that means we need to acknowledge the cancer in america that is Mental Health. 1 in 3 americans suffers from Mental Health. If treated they can live a perfectly normal life. If not, it spirals out. We see more and more young people suffering from stress, depression, and thats leading to addiction. We dont have enough Mental Health therapists. We dont have enough Mental Health Treatment Centers and addiction centers. Right now 80 of our Mass Shootings are Mental Health related. Think about that. 70 of those shootings, the shooter is suicidal. Weve got to start acknowledging what this all means. Theres a lot we can do. But we dont need to pity ourselves. We need to say at what point are we going to stop the chaos. Sean so many people that have these Mental Health issues, the last thing they want to do is acknowledge that they have a Mental Health issues. Therefore, how do you possibly convince them to get the help that perhaps in their own minds dont think they need. We dont have enough Mental Health counselor, there should be a Mental Health counselor in every Single School to identify kids suffering. There needs to be one on every College Campus that identifies kids that are suffering. We have to be abdominal able to see it. Most of those if you talk to the Younger Generation they will talk to you if they have Anxiety Stress or depression. They just dont have a place to go. And if you happen to get one of those things ttherapist, the Mental Health center, the addiction center, insurance doesnt cover it. And we have to start treating this for the crisis that it is. We have to start acknowledging the fact that this is happening. And you look at the chaos and the hate and the division thats happening in this country, when are we going to say enough is enough and when are we going to start to heal and say weve got to start getting sober and start realizing we have to start taking things into our own hands and start getting our country strong again. Sean i agree. Last thing, we have a new speaker today. Was it damaging to the republicans to go through this exercise, or was it a healthy process . It was incredibly damaging. Because, you know, i had, when i was governor, i had a Republican House and a Republican Senate that would butt heads all the time and i would bring them into a room and say were not leaving until we figure this out and i wouldnt let South Carolinians see how the sausage was made. What made me mad was one, they would leave. They wouldnt stay and leave their job. Two, we paid them for not doing their job. And three, they created chaos and stress among the American People at a time that we needed a budget, we needed a defense bill. And you look, congress has one job, and thats to give us a budget on time. Congress has only given us a budget on time four times in 40 years. Four times in 40 years. Now my hope is we have a new speaker, congress, get to work, because theres no shortage of issues. We dont want you talking about it we want you to start getting things done. We are getting some updates and some reports. We just confirmed, nbc news is now reporting 5060 people now also injured on top of 22 people confirmed dead at this hour. We are following this very, very closely. As you can see, we expect a Press Conference in Lewiston Maine any moment now. When that happens, 22 confirmed dead. We now have nbc reporting 5060 people, in fact, have been injured. This seems to be a very much larger shooting than we thought at the top of this hour. Three locations, Walmart Distribution Center, a bar, another undisclosed location. The fbi, Maine State Police taking lead investigative roles. And hospitals say, yes, this is a masscasualty event. Joining us now, national Law Enforcement Counter Terrorism analyst erin cohen is with us. Erin as you look at this, again information is coming and changing fairly quickly. What comes to the top of your head . And what is Law Enforcements first moves here . Well, i dont really believe in coincidences, sean. Obviously from my idf days. But ive also been training Law Enforcement over 20 years, i teach the israeli Counter Terrorism when it comes to active shooter response. Like nicky said, its very hot right now, a lot of things going on in the world, and because i dont believe in coincidences my immediate instinct is to lean whats happening in israel right now with hamas. Having said that the Law Enforcement cap im going to throw on now is State Investigators and federal investigators need to do their diligence. They need to investigate. Well, my instinct is leaning me towards a potential hate crime again because i dont believe in coincidence, everything needs to be unturned, every stone looked under, every inch of the shooting needs to be looked at. And at this point right now it sounds like the threats have been contained if theres investigating going on, i dont know. Do we know if all of the threats have been neutralized . Sean well, at this point what we know is that we just dont know. All we know is Maine State Police have taken the lead role and that theyre telling the residents in lewiston and surrounding areas to lock their doors, shelter in place. And again which means theres still actively clearing sean. So what happens now is wherever the First Responders were on scene, whatever local Police Officers arrived, will into whats called alert response. Thats a protocol that was put out by the federal Law Enforcement Training Center a couple of decades ago following the columbine shooting. It involves tactics and protocols for small chess terse of First Responders, resource officers. Everybody goes through this training, its training mandated in every sedate from california all the way to new york, down in florida, and that training is specific to be able to get into those structures, outside and inside, and be able to start methodically clearing until they can get a more specialized Tactical Unit like a swat team on sight. That swat team will then show up with their tactical gear, wearing invests with ars, secondary weapons, proper protective gear like we see on special ops soldiers. Theyll enter those structures and start Clearing Threats in order to sterilize them. They want to neutralize all the threats first, thats first and foremost. We dont know what the response is right now in terms of the tactical response. First responders, thats that primary wait. Theyre going to get the call. Theyre Getting Better over the years, so have the swat teams, ive been training them for a long time. However as i said on television with you and multiple networks over the last how many days, if, in fact, this is a hate crime its a much larger problem which is going to require a much larger body of training for these tack units and swat teams they train parttime. Only big cities miami la and chicago have these. Bigger issue to look at here. So hopefully the threats are neutralized. After the neutralsation of the threats in multiple locations which i said is going to happen, again i dont know if its connected to hate crime, too early to tell. The fact is everythings on fire. Afterwards a methodical sweep with those canines and with those swat teams will then gone Start Clearing out those structures looking for anybody who might be a threat. Sean just a few moments ago Lewiston Police put out a photo of a vehicle we are looking for, if we can pull that photo up right now. This appears to be a white Subaru Outback, police asking anybody who saw this vehicle tonight to please contact them. They say the front bumper may be painted black. Theyre not confirming that this is potentially a suspect vehicle but obviously given the fact they are releasing this image to the public and asking people for information on it, this is going to be a vehicle of interest potentially driven by one of the gunman or the gunman involved in this Mass Shooting. If we can pull up the photo of that gunman one more time. Everything were hearing from Law Enforcement right now is they still want folks to shelter in place, lock their doors. Theyre still describing this as an active manhunt. The Sheriffs Department out there releasing this image of that gunman walking into what appears to be a Bowling Alley armed with what appears to be some sort of a rifle. And he is aiming that rifle inside of that venue. I mentioned its likely a Bowling Alley just because of the, what you can see in that frame right there. We dont have that confirmed from Law Enforcement but you can see Bowling Balls to the left, you can see pins on the door, it does appear to be a Bowling Alley. A grim update about 15, 20 minutes ago, Law Enforcement telling foxs Jacqui Heinrich, at least 22 people are dead in shootings at multiple locations. One of those locations a bar, another location a Walmart Distribution Center, and then an undisclosed third location. We dont know if it was potentially that Bowling Alley where it appears this man was caught on surveillance camera walking into earlier this evening. All we know is the Sheriffs Department put those images out saying they are responding to, quote, two active shooter events. Again we still dont know if they mean two potential shooters or it was two locations at the time. What were hearing now is there was a shooting at multiple locations, again 22 dead and nbc news reporting dozens more injured, potentially between 5060 people. That has not been confirmed by fox news yet. That is some of the reporting that is out there. What we do know, one of the local hospitals out there, the Central Maine Medical Center saying they are responding to a, quote, Mass Casualty, mass shooter event. They did not give any specifics on how many patients they are treating, about you the newest information we got in the last few minutes was police put out that image of that vehicle. There had been initial reports coming in that potentially somebody was in custody. That is uncon firmed. I want to stress that, there has been no confirmations no announcements from Law Enforcement that they have anybody in custody. Now theyre putting this out in public to the media that theyre looking for any information on this white vehicle. They posted it on their facebook page. I was reading some of the comments, some of the local in the lewiston area identified the car make and model saying a Subaru Outback and some say they saw it driving around town earlier this evening. That it was potentially parked somewhere. So the locals are going to do their thing and help the local police and give any information they have when it comes to that vehicle and if its potentially tied to the man youre looking at on the left side of your screen. Again, the Sheriffs Department saying theyre looking for this guy. The local police describing this as an active manhunt. We do not know if hes in custody right now or not. The last information we have is they are advising everybody in the area, lock their doors and shelter in place. The governor of maine saying the exact same thing. And with these sort of situations, theres obviously going to be more questions and answers as we wait for these developments to come in. We do know the fbi is on scene and assisting the Maine State Police, they are going to lead this investigation. Eventually, once this eventually, once this man is captured or if hes taken down by Law Enforcement, the atf will respond, theyll get their hands on the rifle and run an Emergency Trace. That image of that guy clutching what appears to be a Semiautomatic Rifle we dont know yet and we dont know what his motivation is, we dont know exactly whats happened here or why, and to preempt that is stupid and to try and score points is stupid. But america has to look at these images which come again and again and again. And to the rest of the world, this seems crazy. In a country like america, which is such a cando country, which fixes problems, which is the number one super power in the world, that this thing that keeps recurring, these Mass Shootings in civilian circumstances that nothing can be done ton prevent them. Sean tell you one thing, theres an image of that, too, of somebody in their home that will save their childrens lives because they have that. I get that. Sean or in their place of business. In a country of 400 millions of guns in circulation understand why americans feel the need to arm themselves i get that. Sean i will tell you this, defund, dismantle, no bail laws, no punishment for violent crimes. We had a january 6th committee we never had a committee for the 574 riots that killed dozens in property damage, thousands of injured cops. Cant defund the police cops on the streets and Mental Health would be i imagine another factor. Sean normally well have you back and have a good discussion.
