Dana israel is urging more than a Million People to evacuate in gaza and giving them 24 hours to do so. Bill hamas urging civilians to ignore the Evacuation Orders as israel masses forces for a difficult Ground Invasion. That operation would see troops scouring hundreds of miles of underground tunnels, hunting Hamas Terrorists where they live. Dana the u. S. Is on heightened alert after a former hamas leader called for a global day of rage. A live look at time square. There is no specific or credible threat but everyone should remain vigilant. Just last hour hamas fired a long range rocket toward Northern Israel as they have continued to fire on Southern Israeli communities throughout the day. I want to show you behind me you can see one of those rockets that landed here in Southern Israel just over the border with gaza. This is the shrapnel left from the rocket. These rockets are coming off the gaza strip every so often. There was a lull in fighting overnight. About ten hours went by with no rocket fire. It has resumed this morning. Off in the distance you will see black smoke rising from the horizon. Its where one of the rockets fired last hour slammed into this community here along the border. Certainly continues to be an active area. It also comes as we do have some new reporting for you guys from inside the gaza strip. Were learning from a diplomatic source, hamas, the group in control of gaza, is preventing civilians from leaving their homes whenever the israelis warned them about an upcoming air strike. According to our diplomatic source that has been confirmed on the ground in gaza city, a second source telling us hamas is preventing these civilians from leaving. We reached out to a senior hamas official inside gaza for reaction and here is what he had to say. This is wrong. Not our decision, not our policies. This is also technically how can you prevent 1. 1 million palestinians from leaving their houses or homes from side to side if they want to do it . This is impossible. As a separate issue we have not seen any evidence of hamas preventing people to follow the general evacuation order. Giving palestinians 24 hours about half the population to leave their homes and head south. Earlier today we were at a hospital in a city and spoke with a Police Officer who responded to the massacre that started this conflict. We learned what it was like after militants invaded Southern Israel. I called in the loudspeaker to all of the people in the party all that can, Go Into Crowds and follow me to save your lives. We could not stay there. People helped each other and put people into cars. Went on top of the roofs. We drove for about 20 minutes to the fields on a dirt road. We saw a Train Station and then i know all were saved and could continue on their way. Off in the distance just now we have heard loud booms. Israelis continue striking targets along the gaza strip as they keep finding new communities and areas affected by the massacre on saturday morning. We expect more air strikes throughout the day as israel prepared for the eventual ground operation. Dana thank you. This, bill, is a town that has been subject to repeated Rocket Attacks. This morning was no exception. This is a rocket that impacted this morning. This is the point of impact. You can see right away the shrapnel blast that impacted these cars, set them both on fire and small contained area behind an Apartment Group the blast went across the drive here, all of this with shrapnel and blasted out all the windows. People here are exasperated. The mayor said the idf needs to do whatever it takes. One young man has lost patients and all sympathy even for the women and children in gaza. Women and children of the palestinians should take their people, take them out of gaza. Overnight the Israeli Air Force hit some 750 targets inside of the gaza strip. Weve got this remarkable visual of the leaflets being dropped over Northern Gaza warning people to evacuate and head south. What im hearing from people inside the gaza strip. There is confusion. There is messaging coming from hamas leadership telling them to ignore the warnings to evacuate. A lot of people who live in gaza this densely populated area simply dont know where to go. As far as the threat of a northern front, deputy to the leader of hezbollah in the north says that they are ignoring pressure from the World Community to not get involved. If hezbollah wants to get involved, they will get involved. U. S. Defense secretary lloyd austin is here and issued a one word for those who might think about getting involved. He just said dont. Bill mike, back with you shortly. Dana. Dana cities across the country are on high alert as hamas calls for a day of rage. Jonathan hunt following the breaking news. Hi, jonathan. Its worth pointing out that friday in the muslim world is the traditional day of prayer. So there is no doubt as you look at live pictures for instance from yemen there and from the west bank that there have been fiery sermons in mosques across the arab world and globally today. As a result, this day of jihad, which was called for by a former leader of hamas, you are now seeing the huge protests. You look at the screen left there. Those are live pictures from the yemen capital. It looks like Tens Of Thousands out there. We have seen groups moving in the west bank. That is a very volatile situation indeed there in the west bank and the Israeli Military will no doubt be on very high alert for any problems that they encounter there and the prospect of violence obviously very intense indeed. Earlier today in baghdad, iraq, we saw Tens Of Thousands gathering in the famed square there denouncing israel and again you are seeing the biggest crowd weve seen so far now in the yemen capital. Back home in the u. S. , protests propalestinian protests are planned in several cities. The nypd is on alert. Lapd in los angeles is on alert and the f. B. I. Nationally is on alert. We have Heard Capital police are on alert in d. C. As well for any of those protests that could turn violent. You compare that to what is happening in france. It was interesting yesterday to hear the french government say that they are outlawing all propalestinian protests. They will not allow it. I spoke last night when i was hosting fox news night, dana, to a rabbi here in los angeles. He said protest is a right here in the United States but what everybody within the Jewish Community and beyond is concerned about is what those protests could turn into. Dana. These are the developments that we have basically learned overnight. In gaza you have 2. 3 Million People. Israelis overnight are warning 1. 1 million mostly in the northern section here of gaza to move south. Why is that . Were about to explain. There were essentially three in and out points in gaza. This is the southeast. Thats only for transport of goods in and out. Thats closed, sealed off. This is the area in the north where a lot of People Living in gaza would cross to israel on a daily base, up to 20,000 to work in israel and come back to gaza. Thats closed. Rafah here on the border with egypt is a very tricky spot here, okay . It is where they could go into the sinai peninsula. They could do that pretty much with free range primarily until this war started seven days ago. The israelis bombed the gate and it is closed. Egyptians and israelis wont open it. The israelis are telling 1. 1 Million People to move south. Trying to move people out of the northern area. Why rafah is the key to all of this if you are an innocent civilian living in gaza. Lets move forward one moment here. The population density. We have divided it into five different areas, upwards of 250,000 are in this rafah region here, 250,000 in a city in the south. Up to 650,000, however, in gaza city and this is the area where the Israeli Government dropped those leaflets during the daytime raining down from the sky warning people to heed the warning within 24 hours. They are expected to move out and take essentially cover for your own life. Here is the density were talking about. This is per square mile. What weve done is tried to show you a little bit. Every dot on the screen represents ten people. A crude way of doing it but it shows you the point here. This is washington, d. C. You see where it is here with the dots . This is los angeles. This is tel aviv and then we get to gaza. You get the idea now about the measure of density. Want to show you an aerial picture. A neighborhood on the outskirts of gaza city. Weve been watching this right along the mediterranean coast as you see to the sea in the northwest. You can see it for yourself. In this neighborhood and in this part of gaza on the outskirts of gaza city how dense it can be. These are buildings. It is building after building, house after house. A mosque here, courtyard here. Might be an Apartment Building or school yard. Dont know. You can see the difficulty of the idf and why you see the incessant bombing. The strategy is clear. Israeli government wants to weaken this part of gaza. Want to take out as much as they can before they begin the Ground Invasion. When that happens, perhaps this weekend, maybe in the early next week, well wait and see on that. Just want to give you a measure of what were seeing now and gauge it as we move throughout the day and the next couple of days. Dana excellent explanation. We have a former Security Advisor joining us now. We want to cover two basic areas with you. One, what is happening now with the possible evacuation and the idf warning this is a quote from the statement saying Hamas Terrorists are hiding in gaza city Underneath Houses and buildings populated with innocent civilians. Basically saying get out because Hamas Terrorists are using you as Human Shields. Hamas is telling people to ignore the warnings from the idf. For the first general topic area, give us your thoughts this morning on this effort by the idf. Good morning, dana. Look, israel is trying to do the right thing here, right . No one wants innocent women and children to be caught in the crossfire. Israel is doing what is the right thing trying to warn them to move south. Even if you cant get through the rafah gate. Just move south within gaza. We can talk about the humanitarian effort. The gulf countries should offer to take these folks where they can speak the language and afford to have them. Thats not happening yet. In the meantime folks in the gaza strip need to move south. Israel is preparing for a ground operation. Not only to obliterate hamas but to try and see if they cant recover some of the hostages. Bill fran, israel has a decision to make. Any of our reading and research and interviews weve conducted over the past week, its clear on behalf of the israelis that they feel they have no choice now. That they gave hamas a pass over the past 10 to 12 years and that hasnt worked out. And it would appear theyve made up their mind. They will flatten gaza and try to eliminate hamas and all of that is much easier said than done. Absolutely, bill. In any grand operation, they risk israel risks casualties themselves. We know just from what declaring operation inside israel, some of those homes hamas left boobytrapped. This is going to be a very difficult operation for the idf. But what you are trying to do is remove at least innocent civilians out of the area both to protect them and to protect the idf soldiers. We know from the past hamas will use women, children, palestinian families as Human Shields and they will put weapons and hostages in their homes thinking that israel and the west observe rules of war. Dana even when hamas obviously does not. Want to take you more whats happening at home and the domestic Terror Threat and get your sense as an expert what we should be thinking about. Rebecca wiener the nypd administrator on counter terrorism. What were seeing in the digital universe is a lot of spinup and fear. Our message is very clear. New yorkers and everybody visiting our city should certainly stay vigilant and stay aware and we always urge that. But really should also stay calm and not alter your daily routines. Look, both in luxury condos getting Spa Treatments are calling for others to have a day of jihad. What that message is, i think thats them trying to appeal to potential lone wolves. Individuals with a gun or car or trying to make havoc. Well see protests in cities around the country with large arab populations. Protest is a right in the United States. Thats fine. As long as this does not turn violent either by the groups protesting or by individuals taking action into their own hands. Bill fran, you were the Homeland Security advisor to President Bush and one conversation that my partner dana and i have been having nonstop for the past 24 hours is whats happening on our own Southern Border over the previous two years and i want the lean on your knowledge a little bit here. Because if it is true, and you can read various publications, washington post, new york times, wall street journal, theyve all pieced together the attack on behalf of these hamas fanatics in different ways. I imagine the full, complete picture will come true several weeks from now. But it appears that the Israeli Intelligence community is trying to keep some of that information private. Thats understandable. But this appears to be low Grade Planning on behalf of hamas. They appear to have learned to stay off the smartphone and evade technology so they dont tip their hand. Now, if thats true, they learned those lessons from the hijackers back on 9 11 in our own country. How much consideration have you given to the possibility that bad groups have sent bad people into our country and they could very well be planning something in the United States as we speak . Bill, look, we worried going back to immediately after 9 11 and coming forward that the Southern Border would be a real vulnerability for us and we have seen the greatest influx of illegal immigration in the last year. To me frankly its terrifying because i dont think we have a good understanding of who is crossed our border, where theyve gone and what their affiliations are. One thing going through a visa process and screening people coming in via planes. That Southern Border is so porous we have to assume not only are these legitimate migrants from central and south america. If i were hamas i would infiltrate people through the Southern Border seeing whats going on down there. Dana former Homeland Security advisor to President Bush, thank you. Bill good to be with you today. As we watch now, the day of rage, we just want to bring you up to date on some of the things that we picked up from overnight. We showed you what is happening in gaza and what could be happening very soon. Keep in mind with Egyptian Government has held. They believe if they allow that Southern Border to be open, that they would get up wards of a million or million. 5 people who they have to then take care of and in all likelihood set up tents in the sinai pennsylvania. The Egyptian Government doesnt want any part of that. They dont know how to separate the good people from the bad people. So they also open themselves up to the possibility that they could allow these hamas fanatics into egypt and they dont want to deal with that, either. Super tricky between the Israeli Government and the Egyptian Government right now on how to alleviate some of the humanity, some of the strain theyll feel soon. Dana idf is trying saying leave because we are going to take action here. Hamas is saying stay. Why . Because they want them as Human Shields. The u. S. Is reaching a deal with qatar to prevent 6 billion in funds going to iran and lawmakers call for funds to be formally refrozen from both sides of the aisle. We have the update on capitol hill. Good morning, there is huge bipartisan support here on capitol here for the funds to be frozen. My colleagues fox business edward lawrence, confirming the Deputy Treasury Secretary yesterday told House Democrats in a closeddoor meeting the Biden Administration reached an agreement with qatar to not move any of the 6 billion in humanitarian aid to iran for an indefinite period. White house officials wont confirm this secret handshake deal. It is still sitting in the qatar bank, all of it. Every dime of it. Is there an agreement now to in essence withhold it from iran until they come asking for it . None of the money has been spent. I have no updates to provide today. The comments from the Deputy Treasury Secretary about this deal on the down low to just House Democrats might be to dissuade them from joining with republicans to take congressional action to formally freeze the 6 billion. Thats not the only thing that lawmakers are talking about. They also want more sanctions against iran and for the Biden Administration to actually enforce the ones already on the books. Joe biden is the most proiranian president in american his re. He continues to turn his head to the sanctions we have in iran selling oil and now has lifted those sanctions. Iran is now selling A Billion Dollars a week of oil to china. This is the next chapter of them trying to cover up their huge mistakes they made on political on National Security policy. So the 6 billion in humanitarian aid a drop in the barrel compared to what iran has been able to bring in from skirting sanctions. In august they produced 3 billion barrels a day, higher than the highest amount since 2018, dana. Dana Hillary Vaughn on capitol hill. Bill now we want to bring you an amazing story. Retired idf general is with me. Thank you for your time today. You are a bit of a legend in your home country of israel and more so now. You have a story that is extraordinary. On saturday morning when you got word of something happening in the southern part of your country, you grabbed a pistol and jumped in your car and drove south. And you encountered a sight that you in all likelihood never thought you would see. What did you see, sir . Correct, bill, hello. Yeah, i mean, it was a complete surprise both for the country and for everybody and more me included. I was just there doing my biking and, you know, we heard some alerts and we didnt know what was going on. It took Something Like half an hour to say it is a different story. So i do what soldiers do immediately, take my pistol, which this is what i have and my uniform that is always in the cabinet and my car and running to gaza to see how can i help. The sight was terrible. Hamas was all over, overwhelming the area. There were very few units and soldiers. We try to engage from time to time. We didnt know what was going on in the kibbutz. With squads of many Police Forces and myself, we went to a few of the kibbutz to see how can we help the population there and fighting the hamas along the way. Correct. Bill and you were near the Music Festival as well. I want to ask you specifically about that. After i hear from a survivor, he lived through the Music Festival. Watch. Being in that bush it was truly terrifying. Multiple times i have been thinking that this is it. We are not going to make it. How can you act like that . How can you enjoy killing . How can you enjoy torturing people . Its crazy. People are calling them animals, but even animals dont act this way. They are truly monsters. Bill you mentioned that they were all over was your quote. Hundreds of them when we refer to hamas. How were you able to help that day . Look, its not the hamas that we killed. It is about being there, you know, with the leadership and calming down a little bit the young commanders in the field and getting in touch with their population and try to help to organize the field from something we absolutely did not expect, you know, even in our worst case scenario, we didnt see the Hamas Swarming In like 2,000 troops, terrorists. It was a big challenge, you know, to gain ourselves and reorganize our capacity in order to come to them. Bill you said we need to change the whole doctrine about gaza. No more hamas. Then a reporter said how do you do that . And you said level the ground. Even if you do that, do you eliminate hamas even if you do that . Look, you know, when there is a world there is a war, you fight like in a war and the aim here is to erase and decisively erase the enemy. It is not like anything else before for those operations. When israel strategically accepted the fact that the hamas is there. They were the government but with that vicious attack, terrible, horrible attack and taking over all our systems. Doing a massacre. To israel, we dont have any choice. We cannot go back to stage one or to the same equation of having hamas on the other side of the border. Let me tell you very simply. No one of the kibbutz or no one of the people that survived it will come back to the kibbutz and to his home as long as hamas is 200 meters outside his window. It is not an option. What israel has to do is erase the hamas infrastructure, to take over gaza, we have to do this. And to kick hamas out as long as its going to take and no matter what is the price. Defense secretary lloyd austin is in israel following a meeting by Prime Minister netanyahu. He touched down at the Israeli Air Force base 40 miles east of gaza. Rich edson is live from the pentagon. Hi, rich. Good morning. So much of this relationship is providing israel with munitions and thats what you will see right now. Lloyd austen will observe a c17 that delivered munitions from the United States to israel. He will look at that security assistance, have a look around and so this is all part of a very could order nateed they offered support to the Israeli Government. The message from the Defense Department is that it is a high priority for the United States with assisting in freeing those hostages that hamas is holding today in israel. He says the u. S. Will continue to do whats needed to support israel and to do so as rapidly as possible. It is all part of what the pentagon says is a trip to underscore the unwavering support of the United States for the people of israel and commitment to insuring israel has what it needs to defend itself. Mr. Secretary, you have shown us what it means to be an ally, to be a friend, to be a brother. This is no time for neutrality or for false equivalents. Or for excuses for the inexcusable. There is never any justification for terrorism. So on working to recover those hostages a Defense Official says America Personnel are in advising capacity and absolutely no intention of putting u. S. Forces on the ground. Were also hearing that the Eisenhower Strike Group is leaving virginia today for previously scheduled drills. Last weekend President Biden dispatched the gerald r. Ford Carrier Group to the region after the attacks. A Defense Official says the United States has already given interceptor missiles to israel. More are on the way and more munitions continue to arrive like you are seeing here today. Dana rich edson showing us what is happening on the ground. Bill on the northern border in lebanon where hezbollah designs says its ready to join hamas in the war against israel when the time is right. We have more breaking news today. Bill, as we look to what might be the future of this conflict it is to look for lessons from the past. Back in 2006, summer of 2006, fox had sent me to gaza. Two days after we arrived palestinian attackers broke through the border from gaza into israel and kidnapped an is israeli soldier. Three days later, just three days after that, israeli tanks rolled into gaza then with the stated objective of destroying palestinian Rocket Positions. Now then this is the important part two weeks after that Ground Incursion Hezbollah in the north decided to enter the conflict and started Firing Rockets from their positions in Southern Lebanon into Northern Israel. They staged a Cross Border Raid and killed three Israeli Soldiers and kidnapped another two. Israel then responded with Bombing Raids against hezbollah positions in lebanon and hezbollah carried out repeated Rocket Attacks on Northern Israel. Hezbollah, we should remember, is far better armed even than hamas. It has far more sophisticated Precision Rockets that can literally hit any city anywhere in israel. It is worth remembering that the lebanon war lasted a full month. The Gaza Campaign back in 2006 lasted for four months. Remember, that was just to destroy Rocket Positions and to try to find the soldier. They had some success destroying the Rocket Positions, no success at that point in finding that israeli soldier who was the single hostage. It took them five years before they were able to get the soldier back. Now you think they have 150 hostages in gaza. There is a long, long tough road ahead, bill. Bill excellent perspective. Been looking forward to this conversation all week. Speak to the concerns about hezbollah. I was listening to you earlier this week on what the hell is going on podcast that Marc Thiessen and dana host. You said you wouldnt be surprised if hezbollah agents werent already in our country. You know, when we were working together in the bush white house, we called hezbollah the ateam, not hamas. We thought there were some hezbollah agents. We have an open border. If dhs reports 150,000 gotaways, people who got away its an easy way for hezbollah to put agents into the United States. Hezbollah is much bigger than hamas. Hezbollah gets by the most recent estimate ive seen 7 Hundred Million a year from iran. Thats who finances them. Thats who trains them. So thats a much greater threat than hamas is. Dana what do you think of the reports today that hezbollah is saying that they are ignoring calls from World Leaders telling them to not join in this fight . Well, they will want to keep israel on edge and they will never say were out of this and not going to participate in this. My guess is they wont. That is create a major war in the north because hezbollah is irans deterrent. Second strike capability to stop israel from striking the Iranian Nuclear sites. So i think they dont want to give up that deterrent. Because they know that if there is a major war, israel will go north and will it will be very costly and very bloody, but in the end israel will crush hezbollah. I just think they wont do it. I hope im right. Dana i do, too. Speaking of iran listen to the White House Briefing yesterday where our own Jacque Heinrich was asking about the 6 billion and whether the Biden Administration will indeed freeze it. Why is it that you wont come out and say the u. S. Does not intend to let this money go to iran . Jacque, weve already had since the beginning the ability to provide oversight over the disbursement of these funds. Is it because we think that freezing it essentially again would complicate any negotiations with iran or our ability to get americans home in the future . Im not going to go into any more detail. Dana your thoughts on that, elliott. One word missing from the president s excellent statements about this war is iran. He wont talk about iran. I think the administration really needs to rethink its iran policy, which is basically the obama iran policy of lifting sanctions, of trying to get along with iran. With president obama said we have to share the neighborhood with iran. I think they really need now to rethink all of that. I would hope go back to a much tougher Pressure Campaign trying to stop iranian oil sales. Thats the money, plus the 6 billion or 9 billion that would go to terrorist groups. We have to try to choke that off. Dana one last question for you. How do you think israel is doing in terms of managing the communications, which is also important in this to give them the time and space that they need in order to get this job done, which they want to eliminate hamas. Very difficult to do. We have this 24hour Evacuation Notice to the gaza people and hamas is saying dont leave. They are doing as well as they can now but as in the 2006 lebanon war, theyve only got a couple of weeks before World Opinion changes. That will depend on the United States to defend them in World Opinion and to defend them in the u. N. But as to, you know, gaza citizens cant, wont leave. To the south is egypt with a big empty sinai. There is no reason people in gaza shouldnt be able to go to sinai. The u. N. Could set up tent cities there. Israelis learned from the many a cans how to handle these people and it takes that special type of person that is willing to give their life up for their country and their loved ones and family. And whether we may be needed again at that point in 2 or 3 weeks, whatever time that may be as hospitals potentially get stressed.
