So hamas is using at least 100 people as Human Shields or leverage for their cause inside of gaza city. These are the terrified Family Members of those that are kidnapped and those who are defined as missing. Watch this. Theyre not part of this war. Citizens and civilians should not be taken. The number 1 message were trying to convey is that time is critical. She was shouting, mommy, they shout at us. Were all wounded. Theyre taking children, women, back to gaza to use as Human Shields. Theres a whole machine that happens with these things where the United States, the United States Intelligence Community and special Operations Community are superb at understanding these problems. Were very good at this. So there are Men And Women that wake up every single day and all they do is practice and train for Hostage Rescue and intelligence people wake up every day understanding how to track people, how to deal with these issues. So you know, were five days in, soon to be six days in. Theyre getting a good sight picture. Were donor funded, but even were getting a decent site picture as to whats going on, the conditions of some people, where theyre moving around without getting too specific. You started doing this work to extract people from this private operation, nonprofit funded operation. When people were desperate to get out of afghanistan. Give me a sense now that youre on the ground in israel, bryan. This is project dynamos fourth combat deployment in 24 months. We started in afghanistan, expanded to ukraine. We expand add again to sudan and now here we are in israel. Somewhere in there we did maui and hurricane ian. Each one of these theaters, four war zones, one big fire, americans were in trouble and stuck. Needed help and help couldnt get there for whatever the reasons were and they got left behind. Each one of those scenarios are very different. The way we do things in afghanistan is different how we do things in ukraine or russian occupied ukraine or russia proper or sudan or anywhere else. This situation is very different than other things. To say nothing of the fact of the idf and israeli Intelligence Community are top shelf. Many other countries that weve had to do these things in, the countries werent as allied as the didnt have the alliance and relationship that the u. S. But the reality is this is four different war zones where americans are in peril. And, you know, were theyre stuck. We have american hostages. We have americans trapped in the Palestinian Territories and we have americans trapped in israel between the west bank and gaza that cant get out because the flights are cancelled and the carriers are dropping. There are more than 1,200 people that have been slaughtered, many of them are Young Children for reasons that are just beyond comprehension. These have been targeted by hamas. Slaughtered by this terrorist organization. We have our Fox Team Coverage on the ground in israel. Gentleman, great to have you with us. Mike, lets started with you. Give us a sense of whats going on where you are right now. What can you tell us . The rocket fire has increased tonight. The last hour or so here at checkpoint to the northeast side of the gaza strip, weve been subject to some four rocket bombardments. Each time the first thing we see is the israeli iron dome intercepters launch. It takes awhile for the palestinian rockets to get over here. Theyre intercepting them about a 1 4 mile with a tremendous bang. Theres a bomb shelter here. You can see soldiers. Everybody comes funneling in, we all pack in. Some of the people are scared as it happens. Then the threat goes away and everybody comes back. You may notice some of the soldiers are at a relaxed fighting disposition. That is due to reports of an infiltrator that was killed by an israeli tank. Theres a report of a second infiltrator. They were looking for him in the general area. They havent seen the second infiltrator. Just reports that another palestinian has gotten to the israeli side of the border. Martha . Martha thanks, mike. Near the border of gaza. Greg palkot joins us now. What can you tell us from where you are . Martha, i think the Hostage Situation is really one of the standouts. Ive been covering this region 25 years. The scale of the taking of innocent individuals, not just israelis but as we know americans and others by hamas is really shocking. We spent some time with an Israeli American that lives in new jersey, flew back because his 64yearold father saturday morning at about 5 00 a. M. Went with his buddy to go fishing on a beach just north of gaza strip. The last they heard from him about 6 30. He said there was an alert. Hamas militants came in the area. His body has not been found. Theyhope its not the worst. Thats one of the standout things for me in all of my years covering this. The scale of the infiltration, yeah, we were in an area a couple miles away. The area was still insecure. Were talking about 1,500, maybe more, physically coming across the border. Gaza, this is not been seen in this scale and this scope for a very long time. Youve been talking about the death toll. That is strong, too. 1,200 israelis including americans as well as 1,100 palestinians. We spent time on the border yesterday. The rocket fire coming from gaza strong was strong. Probably the strongest weve seen in this battle now day five. It is something to just take a look at as the tanks build up as we have been seeing that as well and the possibility of an incursion. Weve seen Israelis Inside Gaza before. Its not a pretty picture. If this happens again, a lot of people are concerned for different reasons, martha. Martha no doubt. But in recent months, of course, we had our differences at play here in the country among the people, but we are very much united behind the idf, behind the military, this national effort. To make you better understand, everyone in this country knows an idf soldier or someone that was abducted in to gaza, someone that was injured, someone that was killed. Israel is a small country. You see some of these Harvard Students that have posters showing the paragliders and expecting support for these invaders. What do you think about that . What would you like to say to them about what they should understand . Well, theyre getting it wrong. Very much wrong. Like i said, its a war of the civilized state against savages. Who can express support . Theres no rhetoric that fits here that weve seen in past confrontations, past conflicts, A Cycle Of Violence and so on. It doesnt fit here. Theres pure evil and theres a jewish and democratic state, a jewish people that want to survive in this world, in a state of their own without being persecuted. Hamas charter says it clear. What do you make of john kirbys specificity in saying we cant find a direct link to the training of hamas for this specific attack and operation . Welcome, sir. Well, hamas and hezbollah for that matter, they are just proxies for iran. Those groups wouldnt exist without iranian patronage. An attack like this wont happen without support and direction from the mullahs in iran. For whatever the reason, this administration wants to bend over backwards to not hold iran accountable. Of course, when they came in, they loosened up on sanctions. Iran has had more money going to the regime as a result. Theyve had this delusion that you can have approachment with iran. Congress will have to back funding for both of these efforts. How do you prioritize those two fronts if youre president right now . I think its important to put in perspective, martha, from the inception of the modern state of israel and the late 1940s, the u. S. Has done a little over 150 billion in various forms of assistance. Just in the last 1 1 2 years, weve done i think over 120 billion to ukraine and now theyre going to ask for another 24 and another 100 at the start of the year. So israel has been a longtime ally. We have supported them. Its been at levels that is relatively small in comparison. I think israel is a unique ally for us. Theyre our top ally in the middle east. Theyre a country that we can depend on when the chips are down for us. Heck, even as governor, we had the collapse of the surfside tower in South Florida in a heavily jewish area. As our fire and rescue were on the pile, i had the idf come and help us in South Florida. So thats a special relationship. I think its something that the congress will be mindful of. They should debate this on the merits. They shouldnt play games. Hopefully well get somebody seated as speaker to start getting the congress functioning again. I can tell you, seeing the disorder up there doesnt inspire confidence. You have to get the job done. Thats what we do in florida. We deliver results. The fanfare and that chaos needs to stop. Martha governor, it sounds as if you as president would support because of the longstanding relationship with israel, be more supportive of funding for this war against hamas than you would be against continuing and increasing support for ukraine against russia . Well, i think the issue with ukraine is the president has not articulated a clear strategy. People are saying its going to go on for another four, five, six years. In a stalemate. What id do as president , id try to get that, condition that in a way that will be beneficial to our interests. I dont think its in our interests to have this go on for five or six more years. Biden has not articulated anything yet. So i think a lot of the republicans in the congress that have raised concern about it are saying wait a minute. Youve gotten a lot of money. You havent arctic lated a strategy going forward. Give us that strategy. Theyll ask for that. Martha you served in the middle east. This is a map of u. S. Bases. What would you be doing to protect our u. S. Service members that may become potential targets of these terrorists . Well, one, i would protect the american citizens that are potentially being held captive or in harms way. That is a responsibility of the commanderinchief. We dont know how Many Americans are being held hostage. We have forces that are dedicated to that. We do that. Take whatever appropriate action there is in the region. I would say though those types of groups, the hamass and the hezbollah in direct contact with the u. S. Troops, they dont fare well.
