Speaking from the white house yesterday, President Biden stated that israel will have all appropriate means of support. As the administration is defending its Decision Just two weeks ago to free up 6 billion to iran in a prisoner swap. The administration is pushing back on criticism over the weekend, reiterating that that the money is being used for humanitarian purposes and not for supporting Terrorist Groups like hamas. Well, maria, first off, on behalf all of us, i want to express our deepest condolences and sympathy to nation of israel and to all the families who had loved ones lost or wounded. I want to express to the nation of israel that we stand four square behind them to destroy hamas in its warmaking capabilities. Because this is something unlike israel has faced since the yom kippur war. President biden said yesterday that israel has americas rock solid and unwavering support, and thats fine that he said that yesterday, but we have to be with them in the Long Run Areful theres a long history especially with President Biden or president obama before him after 4, 7, 10, 14 days of Israeli Operations against Terrorist Groups like hamas and hezbollah backed by iran of going wobbly, of demanding restraint, of seeking a ceasefire. We cant do that this time. President biden often says that were going to support ukraine for as long as it takes. After yesterdays Savage Butchly in israel, surely he will also destroy israel for as long as it takes to destroy hamas. Maria id like to understand better what that support looks like. What specifically does the administration mean when it says we will support israel in is that that humanitarian efforts . Is that armament and weaponry . What does that mean . With. Maria, what israel needs now more than anything is freedom of action. Of theres no question had the that the Israeli Defense forces can destroy hamas inside the gaza strip, but they need the freedom of action and time to destroy hamas. That takes the form of american military, diplomatic and Political Support is. The Military Support may require resupply of things like interceptors for their Missile Defense systems or artillery shells, small arms ammunition. It may take more intangible forms of support like Mission Planning for what will be very complex urban operations or intelligence support as well with. In addition to that Military Support, the United States needs to provide diplomatic and Political Support. Again, its nice to see european leaders lighting up their legislatures with the israeli flag, but when hamas starts trotting out dead bodies caused by hamas use of civilians as Human Shields in days ahead and leaders and the United Nations and liberals start pressuring President Biden to demand israel withdraw, its essential that President Biden not give an inch, that he give with israel the time and freedom of action it needs to destroy hamas. Again, if President Biden can stand with ukraine for as long as it takes, i hope he can stand with israel for as long as it takes. More well, you make a good point because there is debate in terms of more money going to ukraine. Do you think youll see pushback on a congressional level in terms of providing the money, humanitarian or weaponry needed to israel . From congress . No, i think well have widespread bipartisan support to provide israel the aid it needs. Im not sure thats necessary right now. The president has plenty of authorities under existing law to transfer weapons or to provide mission if planning or intelligence support to israel. But what they really need to do in the administration, up to and including the president , is to provide that political and diplomatic support to israel when it begins to face pressure from european nations or the United Nations or a bunch of liberal Human Rights Activist dogooders that want them to withdraw or have a ceasefire. They need the time and the free come of action to destroy israe. The United States can provide that to them. Maria senator, i want to get your take on the support or lack of support that this administration has shown iran. Everyone has said over the last 48 hours that iran is behind this hamas attack on israel. About a month ago iran claimed that the money that was unleashed, the 6 billion, that there will be no restrictions on that money are released in the u. S. Prisoner exchange despite the fact that the administration continues to say that money will only be used for humanitarian purposes. Walk us through how we arrived here. But as we look forward about what President Biden should do relative to israel, we should also think what hes done relative to iran or what he needs to do now. Releasing hundreds of millions of dollars to the Palestinian Authority since the very beginning of this administration. These are are all acts of appeasement, concessions and weakness that embolden the leaders in tehran as well as hamas to believe that they could launch this brazen, savage attack against israel. Theyve been killing their own people through oppression and crackdown to over the last three years. Why would these Terrorist Leaders think it was going to be any different this time around . Matt went to other members and said im going to try to influence kevin to get involved. I cant do it. Its illegal. My vendetta is against a washington system that allows corruption to put the interests of lobbyists and pacs above the American People. Kevin mccarthy facilitates that system, and i do deeply resent that. Maria House Republicans will meet this tuesday on a Candidate Forum, also a Secret Ballot is being held on wednesday. What does that look like . I want to give em what they need to win. Weve been doing that with david sling and iron dome and these weapons systems. Weve worked together with israel to make sure they can defend themselves and stave off all these evil terrorists who want to come and attack the israeli people. So i want to do what it takes to win this. But i think senator cotton was right, typically how these things shake out is after a while theres this push to have israel restrain themselves. This was intentional evil actions by these terrorists, and we need to make sure they have what they need to win and send a message to stop this kind of i ridiculous stuff and and take action against these people who are doing these terrible things. The American People right now, maria, i think are so thirsty for leadership, and i dont think theyre seeing it from the white house. I dont think theyre getting it from the senate. House republicans need to unite and show the country that were fighting for them. Think about that they see every day. Crime in the streets, 10,000 illegals coming across the border every single day. The price of food, what it costs to put gas in tear car, i mean, they are in their car, they are hungry for leadership. We need to come together and show the American People were fighting for the things they care about that will make a difference for our great country. Maria as Speaker Of The House, what would be your direction in the face of war in the middle east right now . We are looking at a candidate, yourself and Steve Scalise, vying for the job. President trump has endorsed you. He wrote on social over the weekend that he would like to see you as Speaker Of The House. But tell me what your first directive would be as speak iser. Speaker. To help The State Of Israel. Therell be some resolution on the floor to support The State Of Israel. We will consult with chairman mccaul, work with the senate, the state department and the white house, but that is something that i think gets bipartisan, bicameral, full support from the United States government because, again, this is our great friend and great ally, The State Of Israel. I think thats front and center. And then, frankly, the next order of business is to deal with whats coming on November 17th. And i will outline the plan i think we have to have. Weve got to have 218 votes for a republican speaker, and weve got to have 218 votes for how we deal with November 17th when the funding bill for the government runs, comes due. We need to have a plan for how were going to deal with that, and i will outline that on tuesday when we get together. Maria you have been talking with many of your colleagues over the weekend. Steve scalise is also asking colleagues for their support. Can you give us a sense of whether or not you feel you can, you have those votes . Weve got amazing feedback, incredible feedback from our colleagues across the country, across the spectrum in the republican conference. Weve got conservatives to whats terms more termed more moderate members, i feel very good about that support. And again, i think it boils down to fundamental questions; who can quite our caucus, who can bring us together so we can lead for the American People, and then who can go tell the country why what were doing here, the things were working on, how it matters to them, how it impacts them and their family, thats what were supposed to do in family. Were supposed to do what we told the people we were going to do. Were supposed to focus on them and help them, their families, their communities. Thats our job. Thats what we need to focus on. I believe one day there was 11,000 people coming through eagle pass just in a 24hour period. Is that what were seeing on a daily basis now . Er we are seeing that on a daily basis now. We have ebbs and flows in people across the border. Part of that is what the cartels are doing, how many people are they bringing to the border. Because with remember, theyre like personal guides to everyone. Theyre coyotes who sometimes rape the women as part of the bounty to bring them across or the cartels who collect money back once these people in this country get some type of job even if theyre not a citizen to get one. But they have to send money back to that country. So we know that theyre in control. So some of this ebb and flow is, it might be, for example, theyre moving more drugs in another area, so they send more people in at a certain time because we only have so many people that can do so much. Were maximizing maria, in our budget that i signed off on, i supported it every time in the texas senate, 4 billion in this current budget of texas taxpayer money. 4 billion. It was 8 republicans joining with all the democrats in the house and basically throwing the gale on the floor and saying gavel on the floor ask saying its now up for grabs to anyone that wants it. This is not a serious thing to do when you control the house of representatives. And no matter how you feel about Kevin Mccarthy, i can tell you i was getting things accomplished because through Kevin Mccarthy i was able to get the ukraine money taken out of the defense will bill, and i fought very hard for that. Im proud that that happened. I also got an Impeachment Inquiry launched without a vote in the house of representatives, and half that was because i urged him to do it, and it was so important to seriously go after the bidens for all of their criminal and corrupt actions theyve taken while joe biden has held power. So i want change In Washington too. I think it needs to happen, but the only way real change can happen is when we control the white house, the senate and the house of representatives. But im very concerned about where we stand right now. Maria who are you supporting for speaker . Im talking with the people that are running for speaker. The issues are important to me. I have a bill that would stop transgender surgeries on children, and that bill has been sitting in the Judiciary Committee for quite some time now, and i want to see it marked up and taken to the floor for a vote. So thats an issue im pushing. Im also continuing to push to top funding the war in ukraine and push those countries to peace. And now with whats happening in israel, were looking at a whole different situation. I want to tack the serial numbers of the weapons that hamas is using against israel, and i want to know if they came from afghanistan or if they came from weapons that we provided to ukraine. So these are answers that i want from whoevers running for speaker. Maria we heard from the u. N. Ambassador earlier on fox friends who said right now there could be dozens of americans, americanisraelis, being held hostage by hamas. How does that change the level of engagement from america . Its extremely serious. Anytime americans are held hostage in a dangerous situation like this where were seeing women and children being kidnapped, babies held in cawjs, elderly people were shot and murdered in the streets, and if americans are being involved in this, this is a very serious situation that involves our country. Again, i dont want to see america go to war, i want world peace back like we had under President Trump. But we have a crisis, and were being dragged into this if americans are involved. Maria im glad you said that, we are in a crisis, because we certainly are given that war is now underway in the middle east, War On Israel, and it is retaliating. Congresswoman, you just went through a couple of issues that you want to see finished and completed the way you want to see them before you want to commit to who youre going to vote for peeker.
