But they do have an agreement to forge ahead thats what youre looking at right now for the senate is in fact voting to align with House Of Representatives on a six week interim spending bill. What this does it simply renews all existing funding on a temporary basis they hope they can continue to fund the government, midnovember. They are subjecting this to a 60 vote threshold here. It usually takes a simple majority. Because they are skipping several parliamentary steps and because there was the objection from senator bennett they are going to get this done here in the next couple of minutes. They will require 60 votes. This should have well over 60 votes per theres another bipartisan package which they put together last week. That was getting three quarters of the senate. This will probably be in the same neighborhood there. Again, the house once they put the bill together in the house that commanded a wide bipartisan super majority, 335 votes for that bill they are per there i was the going to have that much support in the senate tonight. What that means is the government does not shut down. The government will be funded for six weeks. Will they be back in the same place in about six weeks . That is the question. Heres the other issue, jon. House speaker Kevin Mccarthy work with democrats they worked with democrats to get this bill passed. People here who follow the commerce out that was always going to be the avenue they were going to go along. Kevin mccarthy could never get all republicans to caramelized around the gop only bill. Youve got a lot of the senators who rely on him for fundraising. For reelection for raising money. That becomes the impetus to continue to support him event and the light of the evidence of his failed leadership. Mark its hard to see how we defeat late to radical Autocratic Party like the Democrat Party with the Republican Party that is worse than anemic. Republican party that is looking for sinema of the gravy. Its working stuff out the special interests in washington. And really most of the senate Under Mcconnell and the other leaders his whole group they sound alike, theyll look alike, they say the same thing and so forth and so on. They do so much behind the scenes and under the radar at the American People dont know. But the worst thing they do numeral wants to take the country and destroy it and reinvent it. Schumer has endless power his friends have endless power and all the rest of it. What you are describing to me as a Republican Leadership that wants all of this power and so forth and so on. But does not necessarily think theyre destroying the country. When you make of that . I think you nailed it. All of these senators, Mitch Mcconnell includable get up and give speeches about how they say and believe the democratic proposals are going to destroy the country. If you really believe that you should be fighting to win not just fighting to get a Soundbitd Bite in fighting to get reelected. And they are not really fighting to win. It leads me too question whether they really believe what they are saying. The fact of the matter is youve documented in your book it has been documented countless other places the democrats do have an agenda that is designed to fundamentally transform america. I think a lot of people voted for the senators who are now in leadership. Thinking the leadership will resist and win were not seeing that with the leadership is much as Mitch Mcconnell wants to point to some of the positive things that have happened in the judiciary there are so many more defeats that have occurred than victories that should lead us all to question why they are doing it.
