Showing what appeared to be chemicals in the water there. Sampling and monitoring still taking place at that location and others. The Epa Administrator advised the public to avoid those creeks in march. But is there anything new you know about those locations. Well, the only thing knew i know is that true cleanup continues. If you go to East Palestine now you will see giant vats where they are taking Fulks Water Out of the creek bet, putting it in these vats and hopefully, over time the creek will get cleaner. If you talk to residents on the ground they still are worried if they go spend too much time in the creek maybe they will start to feel some symptoms, vertigo and other issues. Bret the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency says there is no indication to risk to Drinking Water in East Palestine; however, the agency warn its data does not apply private wells and urges residents to have that water tested. Some independent testing has recorded possible Con Dam Nantz in Drinking Water. I think the inconsistencies with those Testing Reports lead to people using a lot of caution to a point where conclusive evidence shows that the water is safe. I dont think they have conclusive evidence right now. Bret Norfolk Southern estimates its response to the derailment will cost at least 803 million. That money will be used to remove the hazardous chemicals but does not include funds to compensate the community for any longterm health effects. Ohio lawmakers are calling on the federal government to help out so this is governor dewine requesting from fema and specifically the administration a disaster declaration and so far it has not happened. So far the president has not responded to it. Only the president can do it. Shows complete negligence. The Wall Street Journal poll suggests that jump before trump and biden 4646. But there is still plenty of time, of course. So, where are we in this campaign. Seven in 10 americans are absolutely right, joe biden is too old for the job. He is not mentally fit for the job. Look at how he has declined in the last 15 months and imagine where is he going to be 15 months from now. Also the other reality is similar number of americans dont think that donald trump should be the nominee of the Republican Party. The American People are speaking very clearly to both parties seven in 10 dont apt trump biden rematch and both parties seem to be sticking the finger in the ear, no, no, no i cant hear you. Democrats are so unpopular he cant win. Republicans are so convinced biden is so unpopular and old he cant win. They cant both be right. Whether you are republican or democrat, if you nominate one that seven in 10 americans dont can want to be on the ballot dont be surprised if you lose. Mike show the audience what he is talking about from the Wall Street Journal is biden too old to run for president . 73 say yes, 22 say no. His press secretary Karine Jeanpierre continues defending the president against age criticism. Lets play that. What this president brings to this administration is wisdom and experience. People have come after the president about his age. They did it in 2019. They did it in 2020 leading into the general election. And they did it in 2022. And, guess what . He bees them every time because he has his finger on the pulse on what it is that the American People need. That poll has to scare the heck out of the White House Team and his campaign advisers, mollie. I think you also saw people in 2020 who thought he was too old and yet he did not have that much trouble getting the nomination at that point. The issue for him that i would be worried about is that in 2020 he was able to stay in his basement, not do a traditional campaign. He had the media essentially running his campaign for him. And one of the things that they did that was so helpful is that they took part in Information Operation to suppress New York City real news and factual information about the biden Family Business, which is a pay for play business. And that was something that theyre not going to be able to do in this upcoming election. Also, he has a record. Owe has the economy. He has the border. He has his failed foreign policy. All of these things will be more difficult for him. He wont have the advantages he had in 2020. Mike they are talking about masks again. Maybe he will go back in the basement. Philip, your thoughts . This is a question that the white house doesnt like getting. There is almost a weariness in the press secretarys voice when she is asked about this again and again. Fascinating moment in politics right now. As a society we are obsessed with youth but normally that doesnt apply to politics. We dont mind having elderly members of congress and certainly senior folks on the Supreme Court. But i think that biden obviously is pushing the envelope pretty far here that Wall Street Journal poll was staggering because a majority of americans think that, you know, the most senior president ever who was once one of the youngest senators ever is too old for the job. I think that this will be the subtext of the campaign and if republicans nominate someone who doesnt qualify for Social Security it could be a referendum on our gerontocracy. From the economists joe bidens reelection bid is in trouble, quote democrats will rally to mr. Biden and he has time others. Over day goes by partys biggest gamble on partys good health and acuity also grows riskier in 2020 voters who embraced the idea age and experience made him a steady hand. Now they seem primed to see the gaffe or stumble confirmation that he is becoming unsteady, marc. It is becoming unsteady. Its there for all people to see. The more she goes out there and says he is in touch with the American People no he is not in touch with the American People e keeps telling them bidenomics is working. And vast americans of say their lives are worse under it. S for all the reaches mollie says is he eak with a candidate. The problem becomes if you make the voters choose between two candidates they dont like, they are not choosing over which candidate they prefer, they are choosing over which candidate they like less. Right now the polls show, it could change because biden could climb more, the Wall Street Journal poll had actually asked people who disapprove of both trump and biden if you had to choose, who would you choose and biden won that by 39 points, 56 to 15. Something close to that so the swing voters who dislike biden think he is too old dont want to be in the white house dislike trump more. Risk for republicans they may put upson who is disliked more than the current president. Mike do the age concerns force him out on the trail doing more things, mollie to try to address that . Will have to campaign in a different way unless they gin up more Covid Hysteria for a response that allows him to stay off the trail. This poll was interesting in many ways, including that people said that they thought that when you compared the trump record of accomplishment with the biden record of accomplishment, trump did much better, i think it was like 10 points better. And also what was interesting about the poll that i thought was in a three way race which we really could have a three way race it isnt just a tie between trump and biden, trump actually wins in a threeway contest. Lots of interesting stuff here. Mike okay. So, qualified for the second g. O. P. Debate. Coming up, September 27th fox business christie desantis, nikki haley, mike pence, vivek ramaswamy, tim scott, former governor larry hogan. Republican from maryland says some of these folks should consider getting out. I think there is too many people in the field. You should not be in the race. If you dont make the debate stage, you likely should consider getting out. Ramaswamy is up there being a cheerleader and fillin for trump. He shouldnt be running for president. Philip, lead us off on the republican race. Thats a lot of folks to compete with if you are trying to get oxygen. Last time around we saw former Vice President pence force his way into the spotlight. Thats because it is a numbers game. At the end of these debates folks are going to be looking how many minute dust actually speak. What im watching for at the end of this debate though is which one of these candidates is going to look at the polling, look at the landscape and say theres not a lot of chances for me. Its time for me to get out. We do have a precedent. There is an example of someone bowing out gracefully that was miami mayor suarez. Mike sure. Marc, your thoughts . If you have that many people on the debate stage and nobody win knows out, trump wins. That simple. What they ought to be doing what the rnc ought to be doing every debate the bar should be higher. It should be 5 in the polls to make the next debate. 7 , 10 , until you have one or two people competing for the primary to challenge trump. And then you have a trump vs. One person primary or else its over. Right now if you look at trump is going to get the nomination if that field doesnt get smaller. I do think that does effect how people should be thinking here. Trump went from having a 17. 5 lead to like 40 points now. Is he really consolidating the field. If the Republican Party wants to win one of the basic true. S of politics. They want a unified party so dealing with the reality probably 95 chance or better nominee. They should think whether they want to win in 2024 with that reality of hot nominee will be. Early primary trump 43 , 42 in south dakota and iowa. So you have got in the early primary states a 6 in 10 republicans who want somebody else. Yeah. Its also true that the people dominating the field whether its trump obviously is kind of huge leader desantis and ramaswamy people say they are like trump. They are like trump because those policies are very popular with Republican Voters do not seem to like the candidates punch of the in New Hampshire today the former president not really doing a whole lot on the campaign trail. What i find fascinating about former President Trump he is many ways ruing not only as the frontrunner but the establishment candidate. To mollies point a lot of these guys are trying to differentiate themselves from the former president in terms of tone and style but they are adopting very similar policies. What that shows at least among the primary electorate there is a consolidation when it comes to ideology and issue set.
