Four Troy police officers are on trial in U.S. District Court in Utica, accused in a civil case of beating a man during his arrest outside a Congress Street bar in 2018.
Attorneys for the plaintiff, Lamont Lee, contend in a pre-trial brief that city Patrolmen Christopher Parker, Louis Perfetti, Justin Ashe and Kyle Jones used “gratuitous and excessive force” — allegedly using their knees, punches and a choke hold — against Lee on the night of March 3, 2018 outside Vivian’s Bar on Congress Street.
