FORT BLISS, Texas -- A Fort Bliss soldier has been convicted in a court-martial for a laundry list of offenses, including murder and assault, the U.S. Army announced Tuesday.
Pfc. Luis Morales-Sanchez, 24, was convicted Monday by a military judge and sentenced to nearly 41 years confinement. He was also ordered to be dishonorably discharged from the Army.
Former Fort Bliss commander Brig. Gen. Matthew Eichburg had personally ordered the referral of charges against Morales-Sanchez to a general court-martial one year ago this month.
