Former Wexford captain Lyng transfers to Tralee Parnells
January 26, 2021
Former Wexford hurling captain Diarmuid Lyng has transferred to Kerry outfit Tralee Parnells.
The club announced yesterday via Twitter that Lyng would be joining them having been a resident in the Annascual area for the last couple of years.
It’s a major coup for Parnells, having only fielded their first adult team in 2019, seven years after reforming, as they get set to line-out in the Kerry junior championship when club action resumes this year.
Lyng hurled with Wexford from 2004 to 2013, winning a Leinster SHC title in his first year with the Slaneysiders, and continued to play with his native St Martin’s at junior level up until last season.
