Former University of North Florida president John Delaney has been tapped to take over the helm at Flagler College as the four-year private institution in St. Augustine conducts a national search for a permanent successor to Joseph Joyner.
Joyner served as president of Flagler College from 2017 through this June. He announced he would step down from the role in November 2020, at which time Delaney accepted the interim position which he began on a full-time basis July 1.
Joyner previously served as superintendent of schools for the St. Johns County School District, a role he held from 2003 to 2017, a pivotal time of growth and achievement for the public school system.
