A former pub in the town centre could be demolished and replaced with a restaurant and hotel.
Plans have been submitted by Green Islander Investments to demolish 77-79 King's Road, which is a former pub and currently Indo-Nepalese restaurant Aila and build a new restaurant/bar and a 29-room hotel in its place.
An outline application has been submitted for planning permission, seeking to establish whether the scale and nature of the proposed development would be acceptable to Reading Borough Council’s (RBC) Planning Applications committee before a fully-detailed proposal is put forward.
The three floors of the building above the restaurant are currently a five-bedroom flat and a separate two-bedroom maisonette.
