Former CEO of Make-A-Wish Iowa is charged with theft and faces up to 30 years in prison after embezzling nearly $50,000 in funds from the children's charity
Jennifer Woodley, former CEO of Make-A-Wish Iowa, was arrested Thursday and charged with first-degree theft and unauthorized use of a credit card
Months after joining the charity, Woodley, 40, allegedly awarded herself a $10,000 bonus in October 2019, costing Make-A-Wish more than $15,000
She also used a company credit card to spend more than $23,000 in 10 months on items for personal use, it is claimed
Last summer, Make-A-Wish Iowa said it discovered financial irregularities during a compliance review and that Woodley had been dismissed
