FOND DU LAC - Wednesday night's City Council meeting will determine whether a proposed multipurpose building will be built in Lakeside Park, but many residents still feel that committing to the project would be unwise, considering many yet unanswered questions.
Thursday marks the 120th day since the presentation of the project's feasibility study — and the deadline to evaluate the findings of the study and, if their goals no longer align, terminate the development agreement with donor group Lakeside Forward. Therefore, if the council wants to back out of the agreement, that action must be done at Wednesday's meeting.
The plan before the feasibility study included a multipurpose building with a restaurant and meeting rooms on the lighthouse peninsula and an amphitheater that could be converted into an ice rink on Oven Island.
