Ole Miss had a clear strategy Sunday afternoon: wear down star Florida guard Lavender Briggs.
It seemed like the Rebels did just that. Then there were three minutes left in the third quarter. Briggs burst to life, and seven straight points. Her performance was a small slice of the Gators’ second conference 78-68 win in Oxford.
Missed jumpers from Briggs and guard Kiara Smith foreshadowed the first quarter’s slow start. The shooting woes continued with a missed Smith jumper and Briggs three.
