There's a new spider species in Florida that is venomous and "tarantula-like"! It was first discovered in 2012 in South Florida in the forest surrounding the Zoo Miami by a zookeeper there (eek!).
Another spider was located 2 years later and was sent to experts for evaluation. It's just now been confirmed that this highly elusive spider is a new species and experts are inspired that discoveries like this were made in a big developed area like Miami.
And though they are "venomous", they are said to deliver a sting like a bee sting. Anybody want to volunteer to find that out?
