CHIEF Minister Andrew Barr promises the return of Floriade this September at Commonwealth Park after the event was cancelled due to covid in 2020.
Set to run from September 11 until October 10, the event will feature more than 1,000,000 bulbs and annuals.
However, the size and scale of the event is not yet known and will be announced in coming months following consultation with the chief health officer, Dr Kerryn Coleman, to ensure the event is covid-safe.
Complementing Floriade will be “Floriade: Reimagined”, an event introduced last year, which saw 80 community groups plant bulbs and annuals to create a tulip trail through Canberra’s suburbs.
