Birmingham Fire has been called to do a water rescue at 8th Avenue and 31st Street North. The rain has diminished but high water will remain in some areas for a while.

Heavy rain is falling across the Birmingham area with lots of dangerous lightning as well.
The thunderstorm will slowly diminish over the next hour, but flooding will occur in some of the normal locations, Do not drive into standing water.
Turn around, don’t drown!
