Fishing industry responds to continued COVID crisis, helps supply North Florida food banks

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WTXL) â With demand from restaurants still down due to the pandemic, north Florida fishermen have found a way to keep their small businesses alive while helping feed hundreds of neighbors in need. Their catch of fresh, local fish is heading to nearby food banks.
The Gulf of Mexico Reef Fish Shareholdersâ Alliance and Fish for America USA announced a collaborative effort to provide fresh, local seafood to food banks in north Florida as the organizations work to meet the continued, record need due to the lingering economic hardship created by COVID-19.
