Fire & Emergency Services Awards handed out
Civilian Isaiah Linton, left, was presented a Life Saver Award, with his two siblings and mother by his side, with Assistant Chief Eric Barhorst, second to right, and Fire Chief Chad Hollinger, far right, for his actions on March 27, 2020. A fire broke out in an upstairs bedroom of their home and Isaiah quickly helped his siblings escape the fire while his mother was out on a quick trip to the grocery store. Awards for selfless and extraordinary acts were given out during a ceremony at Sidney Fire Station 1 on March 11.

Sidney Mayor Mike Barhorst, left, and Fire Chief Chad Hollinger, far right, presented civilian Jim Mangas, center in a grey jacket, with the Fire Chief’s Medal of Honor for saving the life of a choking victim dining near him at a local restaurant on Oct. 27, 2019. Mangas’ family, the victim and her family were present for the presentation of the award. Awards for selfless and extraordinary acts were given out during a ceremony at Sidney Fire Station 1 on March 11.
