The Maury Chamber & Economic Alliance invites locals to join in on a "shop local passport adventure" as part of the organization's annual "Where's Maury The Mule?" contest.
The contest, which kicks off Thursday, is not only a way to have a lot of fun and win big, but puts a greater focus on the importance of shopping local and supporting Columbia small businesses. The rules are simple, grab a passport, find Maury The Mule at participating businesses and get your passport stamped.
Small businesses are often considered the backbone of communities, with shopping local serving as a key economic driver for growth. Shopping local not only keeps the money generated within the community but is also a way to help support local families who own and operate these businesses.
