The tandem of Glenn Le Drew and Trevor Williams teamed up for six wins on the season opening card at Miami Fair, and one week later the driver and trainer duo combined for five victories including the featured event of the card — the $12,670 Lady Crocus.
Seven Manitoba-bred fillies went postward on Saturday (July 3) in the province's first stakes event of the year. Co-favoured at post time were the divisional champion from 2020, Millies Million (PP6, Michel Rey) and the undefeated Filly (PP8, Glenn Le Drew). Starting on the gate instead of trailing like her main rival, Millies Million sprinted to the front and controlled the tempo through a :29 first quarter and 1:01 opening half. Le Drew and Filly were 10 lengths off the leader at the quarter-mile marker but began the overland journey just after that first fraction.
