Torrie Schutzman would drop in 20 points, on Saturday, highlighted by a buzzer beating three to end the third quarter and the Cody Fillies would bounce back to defeat Scottsbluff, Nebraska to earn a split at the Remax basketball tournament in Gillette, WY.
Cody opened up the game with a strong first quarter outscoring Scottsbluff 16-10 and kept up the momentum taking a 25-19 lead into the intermission. Kennedi Niemann provided the offense early scoring 11 of her 14 points in the first half.
The Lady Bearcats would open the third quarter on a run scoring the first five points of the quarter with help from a 1-3-1 zone that caused the Fillies some trouble. Cody would regroup as the end of the third quarter saw a 3-point contest break out that ended with a buzzer beater by Torrie Schutzman.
