Joseph O'Brien's Guineas weekend got off to the worst possible start on Friday morning when the trainer had to rule his Fillies' Mile winner Pretty Gorgeous out of Sunday's Qipco 1,000 Guineas.
Pretty Gorgeous had been a best-priced 9-2 second favourite behind red-hot market leader Santa Barbara for the first fillies' Classic of the season.
O'Brien, who runs second favourite Thunder Moon in Saturday's 2,000 Guineas, said: "It's obviously disappointing and very frustrating for everybody involved as we were really looking forward to seeing how she would get on in the Guineas.
Unfortunately due to an unsatisfactory scope Pretty Gorgeous will not be declared for the 1000 Guineas this weekend.
