The Minister for Poverty Alleviation Mereseini Vuniwaqa is calling on social welfare pensioners not to worry as nothing has changed during this lockdown period.
Vuniwaqa said as the coronavirus situation continues to evolve, the Ministry will continue to support their pensioners and clients to access information and services.
She said all recipients of the social assistance programs need to contact them via phone, email, or messenger rather than visiting their offices.
“This is in compliance with the measures implemented by government ranging from physical distancing and restrictions of non-essential movement,” she said.
“They will be reducing face-to-face contact in order to keep their staff safe from the virus as this is an important action to mitigate the impact of coronavirus.
