Fighting fire in Wacouta complicated by cold

Red Wing and other fire departments faced frigid conditions to battle a blaze in Wacouta.

WACOUTA — A fire on Lakeview Drive in the unincorporated town of Wacouta left a family without a home and kept firefighters busy on a frigid night.
At 11:34 p.m. Saturday, Red Wing Fire Department crews were dispatched to a structure fire on Lakeview Drive in Wacouta, which is about 5 miles south of the city Crews arrived on the scene about 14 minutes later to find heavy fire coming from the roof of a three-story residence, according to a statement from the Red Wing Fire Department.
