Davenport, IA- A fight inside a Davenport Hospital Wednesday ended with one person being shot. According to a news release, at 12:47 AM Wednesday, March 9th, Davenport police responded to Genesis West Hospital in reference to reports of a subject with a firearm involved in a disturbance with the report of shots fired inside of the Emergency Department Lobby. Officers were advised that two individuals, later identified as 21-year-old Gsani Bogan and 19-year-old Fasheed Rush, were physically fighting inside of the Emergency Department Lobby when shots were fired with multiple bystanders in the lobby. After a rapid response, officers had located both involved parties. Preliminary investigation indicates that while in the Emergency Department Lobby, Rush punched Bogan in the face causing a physical altercation. While fighting, Bogan produced a handgun and fired two shots with one of the shots striking Rush in the leg and causing property damage in the lobby. No bystanders were injured during this incident. Bogan was charged with Willful Injury Causing Bodily Injury, Reckless Use of a Firearm, and Carrying Weapons, while Rush was charged with Simple Assault.
