HOPEWELL, NY — In celebration of International Women’s Day on Monday, several women who work in different aspects of the local craft beer industry got together to brew a special beer.
A portion of the sales of IMPACT IPA will go to the purchase of undergarments for the Sexual Assault Forensic Examiner programs, or SAFE, at UR Medicine Thompson Hospital in Canandaigua and Rochester General Hospital.
Kim Porter, business manager at Naked Dove and project organizer, said the Female Brew Day on Monday also is a way of showing how friendly and welcoming a place the industry can be to women. The effort is expected to continue Tuesday.
