COLDWATER — The consensus of the Coldwater City Council and Planning Commission after a 45 minute “visioning session” Wednesday night was that the former Federal-Mogul site at 600 West Chicago should become part of the Heritage Park system.
The discussion became necessary after Coach Road Capital, LLC, of Spring Lake, proposed to build a multi-story apartment along the highway, possibly adding some single-story condos in back in the future.
Since owning the property from a tax foreclosure sale in 2005, demolishing the plant, cleaning up known environmental hazards, this has been the only proposal for use of the property. The city has invested over $500,000.
