Feature Alumna of the Month: Ms. Oyuntugs Bayaraa | U.S. Embassy in Mongolia

Ms. Oyuntugs (Oyut) Bayaraa, a 2016-2017 Fulbright Foreign Student and Founder of the Firefly House NGO
On her path to become a knowledgeable rehabilitation counselor, Oyut had to understand that rehabilitation should not make the disease or disability the focus, but instead rehabilitation needed to be person-centered. “I used to believe that I could only work with people with vision impairment basing on my own experiences, however through Fulbright I gained knowledge and tools for disability advocacy,” shared Oyut. Her Fulbright experience helped shape Oyut into a well-rounded rehabilitation counselor by providing her with a comprehensive understanding of disabilities and chronic diseases, as well as modern rehabilitation frameworks.
