Im maria bartiromo. It is monday, october 16. We have breaking news right now. Today, tensions are growing across the world as iran is threatening israel and it prepares to strike gaza by air, land and he sea in a massive coordinated operation. This as the taliban aligns with china, planning to join its belt and road forum. President biden says the threat of terrorism within the United States is now on the rise as it is revealed his administration was giving covid funds to a group accused of harboring hamas terrorists. Everything you need to know all morning long this morning. Markets this morning flat going into a major week of Third Quarter earnings, take a look where we stand. Futures with a gain at the start of trading ahead of the first major week of Third Quarter earnings, dow industrials up 100, nasdaq down 1 point, s p 500 higher by 7 andahalf. Were keeping an eye on the bond market, Interest Rates and the price of oil. Both heavily affected by the middle eastern conflict with brent at 90, 81, crude oil up to 87, 82, up a fraction. Check european stocks, in the red across the board in the eurozone, ft 100 in london right now is higher by 27, the others are negative, cac quarante down 4 points, dax lower by 18. In asia overnight, red across the board, asian indices, japan down better than 2 , hong kong, hang seng down 1 . Then a house decides, judiciary chairman jim juror b dan jimn becoming the gops nominee for speaker. He faces a battle in the house. Kevin mccarthy tells me congress priorities are israel, despite accusing of the quarter gop siding with democrats to disrupt the speaker vote. Joining me all morning, liz peek is here, joe borelli is here. Mornings with maria is live right now. And breaking news out of the middle east this morning, secretary of state Antony Blinken is back in israel this morning, he is expected to speak with Prime Minister benjamin netanyahu. The raffa crossing connecting egypt and gaza reopening as a final exit for palestinians wanting to flee. Netover the weekend, irans forn minister issued a threat to the United States, saying it will see heavy losses and warning israel with a deadline for its offensive against gaza. President biden on 60 minutes yesterday, claiming theres no evidence, he cant find the evidence of irans involvement in the hamas attacks. Watch this. Is iran behind the gaza war . I dont want to get into classified information but to be frank with you, theres no clear evidence of that. At this point, no evidence had that iran is behind any of this . Correct. Iran constantly supports hamas and hezbollah. I dont mean that. But in terms of were they did they have foreknowledge, did they help plan the you attack, n the a attack, theres no evidence of that. Maria liz, we saw an entire wall street journal article a week ago, indicating there were specific plans in place, that they identified where iran was directing hamas and supporting hamas invasion of israel. Your thoughts . Why cant the president find that evidence . I dont think he wants to find the evidence, maria. Yeah, it wasnt just the wall street journal, also the New York Times reported that the Iran Revolutionary guard, senior officials were meeting with hamas and also hezbollah leadership in beirut for months leading up to this attack and they gave the signoff for t the goahead. I think clearly there was foreknowledge. I think clearly there was funding. Critics would say and i would say that joe biden has aided and abetted hamas and iran by looseningloosening sanctions on, bringing in 40 to 50 billion in the last year, year andahalf by simply looking the other way. I think the Biden Administration is i in a precarious situation because of enablement of iran because once again a democrat president is pursuing a nuclear deal that has no hope of being accomplished but that iran will get all kinds of concessions from the United States to you achieve. Its a foolish mission, its been foolish appeasement of iran and we have a real mess on our hands and for joe biden among everything else, all of this tension in the middle east will mean oil prices go up, nothing could be worse for his Approval Ratings. Maria and all of this is likely the reason that he claims he cant find any evidence of irans involvement, liz. From day one of this administration weve been talking about this administration trying to get back into an iran nuclear deal. You write in an oped in fox news where you say President Biden is not calling out irans involvement in the hamas attacks because it will drive oil and gas Prices Higher and therefore his Approval Rating would fall lower. Theres your oped in the hill this morning. And liz, we know the efforts have been underway to get back into this iran deal. Lets not forget one of the people that was actually helping to get back into this iran deal was robert mallee, he goes back with Antony Blinken to college days. This was chief negotiator in the iran nuclear deal, now hes under investigation for facilitating the penetration of an iranian spy ring into the highest National Security levels of government. Yeah. Its pretty horrifying. Clearly, mallee is someone that is under investigation. Theres speculation that he has been basically a mouth piece for hamas, not just iran, but that he has been for years working on behalf of iran, rather than american interest. Maria, this story is horrifying and it comes at a terrible time for the biden white house. Maria joe, real quick, your thoughts on this inability to find any involvement by iran here. I understand the president wants to exercise some caution and maybe its warranted but its also w willful ignorance, willful blindness. You had eight years of the general manager of the team, barack obama, who ran the same play over and over again when n it came to iran. Now you have President Biden coming out here, running the same of halfback sweep and expecting a different result. He is under water in the polls right now, pretty significantly. That was before he had a Foreign Policy crisis on his hands so i think this is a very precarious position for the biden president sigh. Maria and presidency. Maria we want to point out that trey yingst is reporting there are 199 hostages in gaza, some of whom are american citizens. We have this number up to 199. Thats higher than what we were hearing last week. Were just Getting Started this morning. Coming up, we take you live to the ground in israel as the country readies a ground you assault in gaza, more questions surround irans role in this p conflict. Jim jordan facing an uphill battle. Some republicans could side with the democrats and prolong the vote. We have more coming up. Dont miss that. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Stay with us. Secretary of state Antony Blinken arriving in israel once again to meet with israeli leadership as this war is entering day 10. Joining me is Heritage Foundation National Security and Foreign Policy Vice President , james c carafano. We are up to 199 hostages were told that hamas is holding in gaza and were waiting for the ground offensive from israel into the gaza strip. How do you characterize whats happening right now . Well, i dont have a lot of optimism for the hostages. We know it took months and years to plan the operation. Its very clear that hostage taking was intentionally part of the operation. Which means that these were taken for maximum effect so this is more like a situation like the munich hostages. Theyve obviously they obviously have a plan with these people. Theyre not going to give them up easily. Taking them by force is going to be incredibly difficult and theyre going to want to hold onto them as long as they can so this is a really bad situation for them. The israelis stated objective is to completely eliminate hamas capacity for offensive operations. Its very, very difficult to see how they can do that without Major Military operations on the ground in the north. Maria do you think thats possible, though . I mean, weve been hearing so much about the effectiveness of the israeli army and the Israeli Military in general. Do you think they have the wherewithal to wipe out hamas, given the threat from hezbollah and threat coming out of iran as well . Well, if you mean eliminating hamas political infrastructure in a military campaign, the answer is no. If you talk about diminishing military capability of hamas to do offensive operations in the relative near to midterm, it is but weve all seen pictures of what urban combat is like with the destruction on the ground and every time you knock down a building it becomes a bunker. It will create significant obstacles to do that. We have two contrasting models. The israelis did this in a major way and the outcome, they said we dont want to do it again which is why the strategy was to pull back on the other side and defend against the incoming missiles. With what hamas did, they shifted tactics. They found a way to get at people on the ground, to violate the one thing that Israeli Government has to do, protect its people and protect its territories so they forced the israelis to go back in again. Will it be what we see now, which is continued probing operations, which i dont think can actually achieve the stated goal but will they do something similar where they go in with a major operation . I dont think, based on the israeli experience before, that theres any conception theyre going to do a major occupation, military occupation of gaza for a long period of time. Even cass lake is 22 days. So i think maximum we would be looking at a couple weeks of offensive operations. Maria were looking at video of the hamas fighters going into israel last saturday. This is from the idf. The middle east Media Research institute publishing a new report suggesting that hamas attack on israel was planned by the Iranian Revolutionary guard leader, sole moneyy and had ben soleimani. Soleimani was killed in a u. S. Drone strike ordered by former President Trump in 2020 and i spoke with former secretary of state mike pompeo yesterday on sunday morning futures. Heres pompeo. The risk is greater today than it was eight days ago, the escalation in large part because the context that was set by the Biden Administration creates a conundrum and when they cant simply acknowledge this is iran as the correct address to solve the problem. Second, we know the ayatollah has been planning this effort, i saw today reporting that qasem soleimani, the man we took off the playing field, was involved in planning the operation in 2019 and 2020 and yet the administration tells us theres no direct evidence. We know who did this. This was iran. The response must be against iran. Maria what about that, james . This president is having a hard time connecting the dots to iran. Heres what i find credible about that analysis. We often talk about the Iranian Nuclear breakout as if its some kind of Assembly Line and we do stuff and it slows down and we dont do stuff and it speeds up. Ive argued that iran is going to break out when its in the best interest of iran they wanted to set the conditions for that, what would be the optimum conditions . They would have a two front war against israel that would diminish and weak pen the israelis and hopefully humiliate the United States and they would do that at a politically sensitive time for the u. S. On the eve of a u. S. Election and thats then break out. And thats what i think is behind the strategy. Maria unbelievable. James, thank you. Thank you very much for weighing in on all of this. We want to take you live to the ground in israel, fox news Foreign Correspondent trey yingst is joining us live with more information. Trey, what can you tell us . Reporter good morning. Just as secretary of state Antony Blinken arrived in israel, hamas fired a rocket at the city of tel aviv, israels second largest city, next to the airport. It gives you an idea of how much rocket fire continues into israel and despite the fact air strikes are happening a along the gaza strip as we speak, israelis are not able to hit all of the launching positions. I want to show you the scene behind me here. 10 of the population remains but it just o it shows thk of mercy had that the militants had when they fired on the communities. This is a large van that a was used by a taxi driver, an arab israeli and it was fired upon and you can see the glass and the bullet shoals in the side. Is bullet holes in the side. Its was targeted by hamas fighters when they entered the. This is a community that sits near the border. Many people have evacuated because they cant be so close to where the fighting is taking place. Were learning more about what happened when the hamas fighters entered israel. Were getting go pro video that shows the backs of motorcycles and hamas fighters taking peoples hostage back into the gaza strip and today the Israeli Military says 199 people are being held by hamas inside gaza, they have notified the families. Were trying to gather as much information as possible and then inside gaza were getting the images of the destruction of israeli air strikes as they tell people to head south. I want to talk about the northern border of israel. Yesterday five missiles were fired into israeli territory. This brought on a large response from the israelis. It gives you a sense of how this is developing into a multifront consistent flint. Back to you. Maria conflict back to you. Maria you do have hezbollah fire coming in from the north, trey. Is this happening consistently . Reporter yes, it is. It is starting to increase. Yesterday there were 12 rockets fired into northern israel and we see recent tank missiles being fired as well. Maria you said there are 199 hostages held right now by hamas in gaza. You got that from the idf. Thats a higher number than we had last week. How many of those are american citizens, do we know . Reporter so we dont know how many are american citizens, we know the latest number of americans killed from last weekends crossborder terror attack. It stands at 30 people. In terms of the nearly 200 being held inside gaza, we know there are american citizens among those. Theyre trying to work out how many are being held by hamas. Maria all right, trey, thanks very much. Stay safe. Great reporting, trey yingst, and again, 30 americans dead so far in this war. Stay with us. Well be right back. Welcome to ameriprise. Futures indicating a mixed opening this morning, take a look at stocks, dow industrials up 112, nasdaq is negative, down about 10, s p is higher by 7 andahalf. We are focused on Interest Rates and the price of oil this morning in this continuing war in the middle east. Take a look at the 10 year treasury, it is up 6 and a quarter basis points, at a level of 4. 687 . Has been up to close to 5 , 4. 8 about a week ago. Oil prices meanwhile are pulling back as the war in israel intensifies into day 10. The price of crude is now 87. 71 a barrel, thats flat, up a fraction. Joining me is Cfra Research director, ken leon. Good to see you. Thanks very much for being here. Were at the start of earnings season, weve got the banks, major banks last week and this week is going to really ramp up. What are you expecting overall in terms of Third Quarter earnings, ken . So first of all, for the whole market, were going to be down 1 . This is the weakest quarter, Third Quarter, and then we see an increase in the s p 500 earnings up to about 3 or 4 . So just getting through this quarter will make a difference because we have a more optimistic 2024. To your point, rates are critical. There are still some hawkish members of the fed which makes a rate a pause again the structural risk of inflation with oil perhaps above 100 prevents a presents a very different narrative and concern in terms of inflation. Maria what do you mean by that, the whole markets going to be down 1 . Were looking at the market this year up you across the board yeartodate, 28 higher on the nasdaq. We have a big week of Third Quarter earnings and the following week will be peak week in terms of Third Quarter earnings. This week were looking at bank of america, Goldman Sachs, reporting tomorrow, morgan stanley, netflix and tesla come out on wednesday, we have a big week of Economic Data on deck, september retail sales out tomorrow, october housing index and september Housing Starts and Building Permits on wednesday, existing home sales on thursday so weve got a lot on our pleat in terms of moving markets but you said a minute ago youre expecting the market to be down 1 . What is the gauge youre referring to . So just a fact check there. Thats the s p 500 earnings, were looking for down 1. 2 year over year. And then the Fourth Quarter positive 3 . When we look at bank earnings, at least theyre checking the boxes of the economy is healthy, consumer and credit quality still is very good. Were also seeing commercial loans. So the traditional areas of the bank, the largest banks is very good. Were still at the bottom in terms of investment banking, that is not helping. But the story for the banks are really the large will conquer and as you move down to the regionals and smaller banks, some of these, which are not significant for the largest Banks Like Bank of america, real estate become more of an issue. Interesting too. You mentioned Goldman Sachs tomorrow. David solomon will be in the spotlight again. They are again riding the ship and focusing on the core franchise, a great global bank but theyre taking significant writeoff as relates to consumer and the sale of the great sky business. Maria a lot of different stories going on depending on which bank youre looking at. Citis in a whole different situation as its cutting back across the board. Liz peek, jump in here. Good morning. It seems like investors really want to see the prospect of Interest Rates coming down. When is that going to happen . What do you think will be the trigger for the fed lowering rates or is the fed finally going to say you know what, 2 is unrealistic, well s settle r 3 . Its hard to say but we go back to 1946 and we look at, as the market reacts to a rate a rise and then a shift to a rate cut, which we think i think the consensus of economists, its the second half of next year. Typically, the equity markets and specifically the Financial Sector tends to do very well nine months before we see that rate cut. Right now, though, weve seen that narrative on rate cut be pushed back to the second half of next year. A couple months ago was the first quarter. But we still think theres game here and thats what the markets looking at. When that fed makes the pause, then we see the rate cuts, thats a very good thing for the equity markets. Maria i mean, the expectations have certainly improved about the macro story. Were hearing it every day on this program and even the wall street journal is reporting in this survey that theyre publishing this morning that the probability of a recession in the u. S. Next year has lowered to 48 from 54 back in july, ken. Do you agree with that . And what about the issue of oil which of course has cut into peoples ability to spend. Very often moving from rate rise to rate cuts tends to be recession. But i think, yes, soft economy, just, again, what we do every day at cfra is we focus on companies, industries and earnings and the picture looks very good for next year and we really have a conservative view of the economy. So i think that external shock sometimes that could make the scenario not play out but i would say its in the minority that we would have a recession at this point. This is pretty good for the u. S. Equity market and its going to play out as we roll into the more positive months which woud be in november, december. Maria i would think that if the Federal Reserve is going to pivot here and start cutting rates its going to be in response to a weakening macro story and yet that story has improved in terms of the probability for a recession. Their other mandate is inflation and inflation getting to 2 , even if its 3 , that might just be fine. And the stock markets going to pick up on this. Maria ken, thank you so much for weighing in. Ken leon joining us there. We will take a break. When we come back, missouri congressman and member of the Armed Services Committee Mark alford is with us, well get the latest on the speakership vote as more americans are souring on President Bidens response to israel. Police in illinois are urging residents to be on alert of potential hate crime and Terrorism Activity related to the israel hamas war. Lauren simonetti with details. Good morning, maria. The suspect now faces a first degree murder charge on top of two hahate crime counts. He was the landlord of the home the victims were staying in at the time. Police say they targeted him because they were muslim and he was motivated by the israel, hamas conflict. Jeff landry will become a governor after a blowout win in louisiana. Her family says she was surrounded by her husband of 46 years, allen, her son bruce, and immediate family. They will celebrate her extraordinary life today. Suzanne somers, dead, days before her 77th birthday. Maria i am so sad about this. We were friends, good friends. She had a beautiful husband, allen. They had a love affair late in life and they were beaming with love for one another. She came on the show a number of times, both on here with me on fox, as well as a my former job on cnbc. There she is in my studio there and even during covid we actually did we did drinks on zoom, the four of us with my husband and allen. And they had such an incredible love affair. I knew the cancer came back but i didnt realize how severe it was. We send her family all of our love. Im so sorry about this story. I you know. I know. I met her a few times. She was always smiling, so kind to everybody. When the news hit, i was sitting with the family and we were shocked what happened. I had forgotten that she had recovered from cancer and it came back. Maria us too. She had such occurring. She had such courage. She worked to get equality of pay for women. She was incredibly strong and had incredible leadership. Rest in peace. Thank you, lauren. Meanwhile, jim jordan is pushing for a floor vote tomorrow to officially become the next speaker of the house, more than 50 republicans reportedly are opposing his nomination. Former House Speaker Kevin Mccarthy joined me yesterday on sunday morning futures and he said that he thinks jordan will get there. Watch this. I talked to jim last night. Hes talking to every single member, assessing what their challenges are. Weve got to be able to work together. Maria is there a consensus candidate that could get the votes if jim jordan does not . What about mike johnson, kevin hern . I dont think either of them could would come very short. I think jim jordan can get the votes. Maria and there are people pushing for Speaker Mccarthy to get back with the gavel. Joining me is missouri congressman mark alford, a member of the Armed Services committee. Thank you very much for being here. How do you think this plays out. Maria, first off, im disapointed that we did not stay in washington over the weekend. We have gone 13 days now without a runner on our ship, without a speaker of the house. We needed to stay there and get this business done. Regardless, were going back today and were having a family meeting again down at the basement, below the capitol there in agency 5 and were going to talk a little more. I thought we were going to have a vote tonight at you 6 30. Thats not the case. Theyre saying tomorrow at noon. Maria tell me about the pushback here. What are the gop holdouts wanting . Why wont they get behind jim jordan . Well, look, im behind jim jordan. Ive been trying to promote him and get others to promote him as well. I think hes the best solution to get 217 in our conference. We have 18 members, though, who wanted biden strong who won in biden strong districts, a lot in the new york area, who are going to have a difficult time selling this to their consistent constituents because jim jordan is conservative. Hes pushing the impeachment investigation into joe biden and investigating hunter biden. Ithes got to have 217. Without that were going to have to find another candidate. Maria so is there is that what it is . They want the investigation into biden and the investigation into Hunter Bidens influence peddling, they want it to end . Is that what the gop holdout is pushing for . They have not said that. I know that our house Armed Services chair a, Michael Rogers is concerned with jordans stance on military funding and other issues. Some in the military world are not happy with jim jordan. On the ag committee, theres a lot of things im on the agriculture committee. Theres some members that are hesitant to vote for jim jordan because of his stance on biofuels and support for tax credits so some of the conservative the issues that have popped up in his past are coming back and being reviewed, to see if maybe he can bring some sort of consensus to our body. Maria i see. Okay. Alabama congressman and chairman of the house Armed Services committee, mike rogers, you mentioned him, hes pretty adamant about refusing to back jordan for speaker, hes suggesting republicans work with democrats to select an alternative. Mike lee is calling this idea outrageous, he writes jordan has the support of Kevin Mccarthy can patrick mchenry, yet rogers and some republicans would rather work with democrats and vote for hakim jeffries. Is that whats happening. I talked with rogers while we voting, before the vote, to make sure he was in line with not wanting to vote for jordan, although i did vote for jordan, i supported him, i disagree with chairman rogers on this. I respect him highly, hes a great man of integrity. If he did say that, i disagree with him. Maria well, i mean, look, if this is just about the biden investigation and youve got gopers telling jim jordan they dont want him to pursue this influence peddling investigation, is that the deal that hes supposed to make with democrats in order to get the speaker . I just want to clarify, maria. No one from that delegation has told me that to be the case. I have heard things in the media and others that said hey, if youre going to go with a consensus candidate, lets pick someone who is going to drop the biden impeachment hearings. That should not happen. Thats what jim jordan is so good at and thats another reason some people dont want him leaving his the chairmansh. The chairman ship. Hes done extraordinary work 23n the investigation. Maria the public would like to know which republicans are telling jordan to stop the impeachment inquiry. Voteers would like to know their names specifically, if that what theyre telling jim jordan and thats why theyre not supporting him, we want to know about it. A new poll finds more than half of the uncountry disapproves of how joe biden is handling the war, as we learn the administration sent more than 30 million of covid relief money to a palestinian relief group who is now being a accused of harboring the hamas terrorists, congressman. This cannot get any worse. Now we learn that this Administration Spent our covid money to terrorists . Its a shame how the Biden Administration has handled this from the outset and once again i go back to looking at how President Trump would have handled this. This situation, this crisis i think never would have happened had trump still been in office a, the crisis in afghanistan, the crisis with russia and ukraine, the crisis going on with china and its pending takeover of taiwan. This president has shown weakness from the very beginning. They should not be supporting hamas in any form of fashion. We have to be resolute in our denuns United Nations of hamas, denounceiation of hamas, the terrorist organization and call it that and we have to find a solution that will work best for the israeli people. Maria has it become an issue you that you do not have a speaker in terms of any progress regarding this aid toward israel . I know what that the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is having a hearing for former treasury secretary jack lou this week, they want him to be the ambassador to israel. Is that going to do anything . Will that make a difference . And wh what specifically have yu had to stop or not move forward as as a result of the lack of speaker regarding israel . Well, look, we have a resolution signed by more had than 400 members of congress and we cant pass through the house because we dont have a speaker of the house. We need to be resupplying the israelis to rebuild the iron dome to give them the armaments and money they need. We cant do that. Its a shame to see Chuck Schumer over there supporting israelis when we cannot be over there. Kevin mccarthy has a great relationship with the people of israel and that leadership. I know hes been in contact. But he cant do anything right now. He is not the speaker of the house anymore. But he is maintaining that relationship hopefully until someone can step in and fill our commitments to israel. Maria wasnt it reckless to actually step down with no speaker . I mean, shouldnt he still be the speaker until a new speaker is found . That was up to Kevin Mccarthy. He fought and fought and fought p. He has true grit. I stood behind him as many other people did. This should never have happened. He should not have left but that was under his own decision for the good of the country and for the good of our body. He fought as long as he could and realized when he could not get the votes, he had no other choice. Maria wow. All right, congressman, thanks very much, very tenuous time right now. Weve got a new poll showing a majority of americans want the United States to help citizens of gaza out of harms way. Out of the 78 who you agree, 94 were democrats, 71 were republicans, the u. S. s support for israel appears stronger than in the past according to the poll as well. In a poll conducted during 2014 conflict, 22 of respondents said the u. S. Should support israels position. Support was strongest among republicans at 54 . Liz, these polls are giving us a clue into how america is feeling as this war rages on day 10. Your reaction. Well, i think everyone is concerned about the loss of life likely to be incurred if israel wages a full ground you assault in gaza and i suspect that is why its taken so long to get this incursion underway. I think theyre probably getting a lot of t chatter from the United States which is very fearful of broadening this as iran has threatened and if israel makes aggressive move into gaza, that iran will retaliate. Obviously, weve got hezbollah in the north also becoming belligerent. This is a really scary time, maria. I think this poll probably gives us a good sense that, yeah, no one wants a tremendous loss of life here. On the other hand, theres pretty good support for israel and after t the attack by hamas there should be very good support for israel. I dont think 2014 by the way is a particularly good comparison. That was a much smaller skirmish. This is pretty monumental. Maria yeah. I mean, weve got this video today, joe, which trey yingst had during his report and its from the idf. It shows a go pro camera where you can actually see these hamas fighters going into homes, going into israel and just destroying homes and taking people. You have it right there in the video. You look at the israelis and what did they do over the weekend . They started dropping leaflets, telling citizens get out of the way, suggesting theyre about to go in with a ground offensive so they want everybody to know it. Theyre sending warnings, get out of the way, because were coming in. But these monsters, hamas monsters going into israel unprovoked, unannounced and start snapping people out of their homes, joe, its just disgusting. It is. And there always has been a bias in the response against israel. I mean, we talk about wanting a proportional response. There the can be no proportional response. Remember, hamas came into peoples homes, mor murdered thn their beds, murdered children and elderly relatives. I think the poll numbers do correlate with what were seeing in the producter public sphere. You broader public sphere. You are seeing bipartisan support for israel, you are seeing sort of a bipartisan side lining of people in the votes, speaking out in favor of hamas, speaking in favor of terrorism and thats frankly what should happen. I think the scary thing in these poll numbers is actually the support for israel is so low in people under 40 years of age. This is something that has been a very commonality, no matter who has been the president over the past five decades we have supported israel. To see so many young people second guessing the commitment is troubling and should be troubling for israelis watching. Maria like harvard students. Theres obviously a lot of risk in the situation but the Political Risk to biden, to joes point, is extreme because one of the main constituents of the Democrat Coalition has been young voters. Young voters are not on board with americas support for israel. Maria why, liz . Why not . Because they learned in their universities that israel is an occupier and on presence ive state and oppressive state and Palestinian People have been oppressed and thats where the sympathy lies. Its a horrible story and misrepresentation of the history of the place and also to joes point to the disparate treatment of palestinian citizens compared to israeli citizens. Maria lets take a break.
