Florida Governor Ron Desantis is announcing evacuation flights to bring jewish floridians stranded in israel home, he said he made the decision because he said floridians are not he receiving timely information and assistance from the u. S. Embassy in israel and are not receiving followup after enrolling in the u. S. Department of states smart traveler enrollment program. He says he hopes to charter jets from israel to europe where residents can fly safely back to florida. Congressman cory mills joined me a while ago on his efforts, he has already evacuated 77 americans from israel. Heres cory mills just a few moments ago. The last few days i got 32 people out the first day through a ground evacuation, i was looking at the Northern Area and yesterday i got out over 45 americans from jerusalem and many of them had been trying to get out for four days, five days, six days, some of them had run out of money, no longer able to stay in hotels the. This is a huge, huge failure once again on the Biden Administration and if biden is not willing to do his jobs, them members have to step up and do it for him. Machristian, yourreaction . This is reminiscent to the collapse in afghanistan that also happened under joe biden where you had private organizations, members of the military, former members of the military who had to basically help get pro american afghans away from the taliban because the administration was too busy doing other things. In the case of desantis in florida, its another instance of rather just saying things of actually doing things. He didnt complain about bureaucrats who wanted schools closed in the aftermath of covid, he reopened them. He didnt just klain about prosecutors funded by george soros, he fired them. Hes stepping up again. Theres a tiff within the republican primary where donald trump made bizarre comments recently criticizing israeli president netanyahu, criticizing the Israeli Defense minister, odd thing to do at the outset of a war a against an ally. Desantis is very pro israel. President of the university of florida, in contrast to elite colleges, siding with israel and jews who are under siege as opposed to those siding with hamas. Maria the harvard stories horrendous. Theres so many Different Things to react to here. One of the things i find amazing is how you they talked about how many people havent gotten any reaction or response after filling out these forms. And you just cant imagine why it is that one congressman can go and get 77 people out and theres people there stranded without hearing anything from this administration. It speaks volumes i think to the leadership here and to how people are really viewing the situation. Maria its unbelievable. Watching cory mills on that bus, rounding up people, americans stranded in israel, getting them out of there, out of harms way. Hes done it for 77 people, guideline i mean, kudos to him for that, funding it out of his own pocket which is remarkable. We can joke and say we know were trying to save known the u. S. Because were at deficit, but come on, were the most powerful country in the world. Mexico is in there, getting their people out. Where is our consistent concerto get americans out, doing it quickly and effectively. We should have been first. Maria we havent touched on the hostages. We are waiting on the fate of the hostages and what happens next as israelis are gearing up for a ground fight. You know, earlier we reported, lee, that the israelis have thrown fliers on the road from flights above to tell people to get out of harms way. Leave their homes in the gaza strip and head south, that tells you they are readying for a ground assault. They absolutely are readying for a ground assault. You cant imagine the emotions on the ground in israel and how people feel like were talking about babies being murdered, women being murdered. This is just absolutely like nothing we have ever seen before. The practice of just unbelievable the practice is just unbelievable. So i think its everybody would be wise to get out of there. I imagine theyre going to have the full force coming out. Maria and we spoke with cory mills who just said who has resrescued 77 americans who were stranded in israel. We understand the Us Government is now starting charter flights. We dont have an update on that in terms of how many people they can gather up but its obviously cory mills setting the tone here as far as getting people out and you mentioned florida Governor Ron Desantis also trying his hardest, christian whiton, to get people out. People are scared. They need to leave israel immediately. They do. You know, and also an earlier guest mentioned we think and we hope israel will be success until going in and ablazing hamas, its a jihadist administration, backed by iran. The the administration seems to down play the fact that its a problemsproxy. Theyve been funding a nuclear p program that is one p step forth of a full Nuclear Capability in iran. One question no one seems to be asking or answering now is what happens after the war. If israel is successful, even if they really take hamas down a notch, if they really crack apart the security, the apparatus of tyranny, if they leave, then doesnt hamas just come back . Isnt there some sort of longer Term Solution . I wish democracy would work in the arab world. It doesnt seem to. So whether some sort of military government backed you by gulf states or egypt, the longterm end game here is something that seems beyond the conception of our politicians and our 80 billion a year intelligence bureaucracy. They could stop sea born traffic going to gaza, they could do more and we could crack down on iran more with a lot of talk about the 6 billion that was unfrozen to get the five hostages out, that was money where south korea bought iranian oil, we said thats in violation of sanctions, hold onto it. Now biden facilitated the move to qatar and its supposedly held there but cracking down on irans other illicit exports. Theyre selling lots of oil to china and putting that or saying we will will put a dent in irans ambitions. Maria we havent done enough in terms of pushing back on iran. Weve been talking about this administration appeasing iran, since day one, depending on which law make aer weve spoken with, theyre putting the number at 40 to 60 billion in indirect aid in terms of what youre saying, you know, the sanctions, forgiving their behavior, allowing all of that oil on the black market. I want to kick things off with you, ryan, with a look at futures this morning indicating a mixed opening, largely lower, dow industrials higher by 30, s p is down 3 and a quarter. One problem for the market is the price of oil of. Up about 4 , after the u. S. Posted larger crude builds to the stockpiles as people worry about the war on israel. Weve got a lot of headlines coming out of the middle east this morning and that has oil this morning up almost 4 at 86 even on crude oil. Ryan, your reaction . Well, i think id point out first off oil prices are a lot lower than they were two weeks ago, before this invasion even started. And if you look at crude inventories, theyre only supposed to go up about 500,000. They were up by 10 Million Barrels which says that production is really ramped up especially when oil is over 90 a barrel and we have an old saying, what cures higher oil price, higher oil prices. Could oil demand in general has gone down quite a bit over the course of the last month because they were higher. So i think the Bigger Picture here is oil prices are actually coming down, Global Growth is relatively anemic and if you have these kind of p inventories that keep rising like this, i a anticipate oil prices will keep moderating which plays into the inflation story in general, the fact that inflation is moderating and if you look at the cpi number yesterday, it was still in the core, still came in as expected. And i would mention those shelter costs or the big component that was up big, thats still a lag in that cpi number and if you look at more Real Time Data when it comes to rentals, theyve come down a lot. I think inflation is going to continue to moderate. I think oil prices will continue to moderate as well and its remarkable theyre not more given the fact we had this invasion. Maria the big surprise yesterday on the cpi was shelter. Youre right. It was up six tenths of a percent, rent up six tenths of a percent. Any way you look at oil, even if its down from where it was two weeks ago, oil at 86 a barrel is not good. I mean, the price of gasoline, heating oil, cutting into peoples ability to spend and thats whats keeping inflation elevated. Do you want to you buy oil stocks . Do you want to invest in this move . I think its a longterm play, yes, because look what happened to exxon the other day, buying pioneer natural resources. Theyre buying more production because they know fossil fuel demand is only going to go up over the next decade. I think its a longterm story. Oil should stay relatively strong. Shortterm, like your favorite ride, if you talked three months ago, oil was under under 70 a. Its extremely volatile. Thats why the fed focuses on core inflation, just because that number is all over the place. So i think shorter term, again, i do think its still going to continue to moted rate because youve had moderate because youve had every marginal producer in the world producing at higher oil prices. That should bring pricing down. I think longer term oil is a strong story and you should have it in your portfolio. Maria take a look at treasury yields this morning after the cpi number yesterday which was hotter than expected, bostons Federal Reserve president Susan Collins says if the recent runup in yields is sustained it will reduce the need for more rate hikes and this is the messaging weve been hearing out of the Federal Reserve all week, that the market is doing the work for the fed. The next fed meeting of course is at the end of the month, october 31st and november 1st is the two day meeting. Are you in the camp that the fed takes a pause now, again, because of this backup in Interest Rates . I think the probabilities are that the fed takes a pause. I think its over the fact theyve gotten the overnight fed funds rate to the 5, 5 and a quarter is probably within 95 of where they want to take it to reach their terminal rate. I think the fact that we have this circumstance prevailing in the middle east, if i was a voter on the fomc i would take that into consideration also and probably saying you know what, lets sit tight, lets do nothing. Maybe we get to 5 and a quarter, 5 andahalf by the end of the year but i have my doubts. When the fed began to tight pen Monetary Policy 18 months ago, i said we would probably get to 5 . It seemed laughable. But thats my target. Weve gotten there. I think weve done most of the job. I think the market has done the feds job for it. I think we probably have seen the end of the overnight fed funds rates rising, maybe 25 basis points by the end of the year but i have my doubts. Maria well, i mean, look, yesterday adam johnson mentioned the long bond, you know, weve got yields kissing up to 5 as you noted and when youre talking about the 10 year having gone all the way up to 4. 8 , thats where the worry was in the last couple of weeks and the 30 year bond right there as well, close to 5 . Theres the 30 year right now at 4. 797 , down 6 basis points this morning. But overall i know youre bullish on the macro story, ryan, but these higher rates has caused bankruptcies, it has caused the credit tightening to worsen. Are you worried about that . Well hear more from the banks in the next couple days, perhaps a bit on the tight p ning that weve seen in terms of tightening in terms of credit. I think dennis and i agree this morning. Alleluia. You have to look forward looking markets look forward looking. 10 year is at 4. 6 which says moderation after the cpi number came out. I like to use rock and roll quotes when i talk to dennis, the song remains the same as led zeppelin once said. I think it will continue to moderate. Weve seen the peak in Interest Rates, stay between 4 and 5 which is normal historically, meanwhile if inflation continues to come down especially the shelter component, wages continue to stay strong, growing over inflation, but moderating, thats a goldilocks scenario and profits will start going up for companies in the next year, a good p reason to be bullish on the market and be relatively optimistic on where the economy is next year with no recession. Israeli Defense Forces are calling for evacuation of gaza city as they prepare for a Ground Invasion. Hamas is telling gaza residents to ignore the idf safety instructions, geeing in the way of get inning the way of people trying to evacuate. Trey yingst has a look at whats happening on the ground in israel. He is there now live. Trey. Reporter yeah, good morning. We have new reporting this morning, indicating as relates to idf warnings about air strikes, specifically inside gaza, hamas is according to a diplomatic source stopping people from leaving their residence when israelis warn an a impending air strike is about to take place. As relates to general evacuation orders we p havent seen much of hamas trying to stop people from heading south and there are videos online showing thousands of people trying to leave after those orders were made by the israelis overnight, giving Palestinian Civilians 24 hours to leave gaza city and surrounding areas. This yo appears to be an imminet Ground Invasion by the israelis r, Benjamin Netanyahu is making clear he intends to defeat hamas. We understand there are thousands of troops and tanks along the border, prepared to stay inside gaza as long as it takes not only to destroy hamas but to try to rescue the more than 150 reported hostages that were taken into the tunnels beneath gaza once the attack took place and the massacre on saturday morning. Theres still a lot of information that we havent been able to confirm because the israelis still havent been able to search all of the territory that a sits between israel and gaza. Its a 25mile strip of land on the eastern side. Theres a lot of wooded areas and places where theyre still finding militants that were hiding or rece recently infiltr. We were at the site of a new ofc festival where a massacre took place. There was a militant hiding in the woods. We watched as they dragged him out, blindfolded him and put his hands behind his back and carted him off. Maria another question about the evacuation move from israel. Theyre asking 1. 1 million citizens in the gaza strip to evacuate, move south, because theyre getting ready for what we believe is going to be a ground war, Ground Invasion into the gaza strip. Thats about half of the total population there, right . Reporter yeah, absolutely. Its a large, large amount of people and weve spoken with some civilians inside gaza who say thousands are heading south. Its not enough time to totally evacuate this amount of land and this amount of people. So there are questions about if that 24 hour period will be extended at all, if israelis can see there are civilians still evacuating but its a very tight window for the critical humanitarian issue as the catastrophe is happening inside gaza, the civilian death toll is certainly rising. There are hamas and Islamic Jihad fighters battling the israelis with rockets from the inside of gaza city and Israel Intends to go into gaz gaza territory and it will be a bloody, urban battle when they do. Maria when the sitens citizens try get out, theyre met with what . Reporter theyre going to travel further south on the gaza trip. Israelis are not letting palestinians leave gaza, even through the egyptian crossing. They say if anyone leaves ors tries to enter, they will bomb the convoys. The situation is 1200 israelis were killed, i think 27 americans is the count that i have. Put that in per capita terms, thats like 30 to 40,000 americans, this has been devastating to israel. We have to destroy hamas. Hamas will kill every israeli, every jewish person they could, they would kill every american they could too. Israel has to go in and destroy hamas. We cant forget, hamas couldnt do any of this without iran. Iran arms them, funds them, they couldnt happen without irans support. I believe netanyahu, the Prime Minister will keep that in mind. Hes not going to let iran off the hook on this either. Maria lets talk a bit about that. Because there are worries that there could be regional actors trying to get involved as well. What are your thoughts in terms of the hezbollah component of this and is iran also arming hezbollah . Where are they getting the money to have all a of this weaponry . There was a story in the journal this week about the Hamas Terrorists writing in crypto. Well, hamas and hezbollah are very well funded mainly through iran. Its interesting, its probably shmuslim and they control southn lebanon. The irans are suni. They support whoever they can that will go over israel or the United States and so the weapons, the money, even the leadership are all heavily iranian influenced in iran. The iranians have like their agents in hamas and hezbollah, they have an Organization Called the irgc that pretty much controls southern lebanon and the part of syria that borders israel and theyre operating out of hamas. So yes, the hezbollah, theyre a threat to israel, maybe a bigger threat to hamas when it comes to the size and l amount of weaponry they have. Theyre surrounded by threats and its our goal and our role to help israel prevail in this. Maria in the meantime, the former leader of hamas is calling on muslims everywhere to create a global day of jihad today on this friday the 13th. Theyre urging muslims across the world to protest israel today, big cities like washington, new york, los angeles, are increasing Police Patrols as a result of this and the fbi is urging the public to, quote, remain voyage length, saying they do vigilant, saying they do not have specific intelligence on the planning of a potential attack, congressman. How should we view this . I think we should be vigilant. I walked into the capitol today for your show this morning and you can see heightened security around the capitol already. The fact is, what hamas did to israel n would do that in washington, d. C. Or new york or anywhere so we have to be vigilant. Theres bad people out there. We saw september 11th in 2001, thats not an anominally. There are people that hate us and would be willing to do as much damage and kill as many people as they possibly can if they were given that ability. We have to be vigilant. Now Steve Scalise won the vote two days ago and we had five people stood up yesterday and said they refused to vote for him because they supported another candidate even though Steve Scalise won the election, the internal election. What you basically have is a small group of folks who are saying we dont care what the rest of the conference and 95 believe in, were going to demand that the whole conference, 100 do what the 5 wants and i dont think we should be held captive to these people. I supported kevin mccarthy, i supported Steve Scalise. I would have voted for jim jordan if he would have won the election. You cant give in to five, 10 people who are demanding what they want. Is now starting to organize charter flights and other transportations for americans to leave israel beginning today. This is nearly a week after the israeli hamas war began. Reuters is reporting that americans will be, quote, asked to sign an agreement to repay the u. S. Government prior to departure and should be prepared to arrange their own lodging and onward travel from greece, germany or cypress to their final destination. Governor desantis is signing an executive order to organize Emergency Management to begin bringing floridians back home to florida. Assess the situation for us, please. Well, the situation is in israel is as follows, theyre on the border, a territory called gaza, f savages, they are trying drive people out of the middle east. They butchered innocent civilians and they can no longer coexist. Some experts are saying hamas is a group we can work with, in including the guy in charge of dealing with the iranians under the Biden Administration who is being investigated for all kinds of Crimes Involving classified information, sharing it. This guy was one of the guys arguing that. What happens . Israel cant coexist with these guys. This group has to be destroyed. This is a playbook theyve played over and over again, hezbollah and others. They attack israel, kill a bunch of jews and take off running and hide and they hide behind civilians. Israel responds. Civilians unfortunately die because the hamas uses them as shields. They run to the globals press and say look what israel is doing and everyone puts pressure on israel to stop before the job is done and those guys survive and come back and they kill more jews in israel and that plays out over and over and over again. Thats their playbook. Theyve done it of and over again. This time it has to be different. These guys cannot be a allowed, terrorist organization cannot be allowed to continue as a viable entity. These are the guys who want their own country, hamas position is we want to govern not just gaza, we want you to give us our own country, presumably from which they can then kill even more jews is this is an unacceptable situation. Israel has no choice but to wipe them out and we have to do everything we can to help israel to provide them the material they need to finish the job. Maria i know you at one point are going to be looking back to see how in fact we got here. But it seems to me the policies coming outs of this administration have been such appeasement to iran and you just mentioned this chief negotiator in the administration, youre talking about robert mallee, bidens chief negotiator in the iran nuclear talks. He apparently facilitated the penetration of an iranian spy ring into the highest National Security levels of the government. Can you tell us more about this and how is it possible that this was the person that was negotiating an iran deal. First of all,s this is the person that everybody called an expert on the middle east, an expert on israeli, palestinian affairs, an expert on iran. In fact, he was working on the Obama Campaign, i dont recall if it was 2012 or 2008 and the Obama Campaign had to let him go because he was caught coordinating with some the groups in the middle of the campaign and they brought him into the National Security council, he has writings in which he arrest a guys we shouls that we should be part of the conversation. They put him in charge of the iran negotiations. A guy who has clear sympathies for the iranian regime.
