The nasdaq is up second day in a row. That looks safe. First backtoback gains for the nasdaq in two weeks. We have that. Well have a lot more to cover with fox Business Team coverage. Susan li standing by in the new york newsroom. Well get to susan in a moment but we start with blake burman on what was very busy, important day at the white house. Blake . Reporter historic as well. I will keep this short. Were probably getting the president s comments shortly any moment from now. A historic day at the white house where the president of the United States was joined with the israeli Prime Minister with two leaders from arab nations to sign a peace deal. Israel and the United Arab Emirates and israel and bahrain. President trump said he believed there could be five, maybe even six more of these peace deals in the middle east in the works to come. The president suggested that this could be a domino effect saying that he ultimately believes it will lead to the biggest middle east deal of all. President trump we went in the smart door. The palestinians will absolutely be a member. I dont say that with any bravado. The palestinians will be a member at the right time. Were talking with the palestinians. At the right time they will be joining too. Reporter theyre talking to the palestinians but not surprisingly the palestinians denounced the say money that took place at the white house. The president just left. He is to a town hall in pennsylvania. The comments from the south lawn being turned around. Connell as we wait for that, blake. Lets talk about the campaign. President ial nominee joe biden making his first visit to the all important state of florida. Peter doocy joins us live from wilmington, delaware to pick up on that story. Peter . Reporter connell, joe bidens trip down to florida comes as recent polls show two trends. He is doing better with seniors than donald trump there. He is not doing as well with hispanics as donald trump. He is looking to shore up his numbers with hispanic voters. Also today veterans. Trump has no idea about the ideas that animate women and men who sign up to serve. Duty, honor, country. That is what service and patriotism is all about. Reporter Michael Bloomberg is pitching in 100 million to help biden flip florida. A bloomberg advisor says the former biden rival hoping to help democrats free up resources to spend elsewhere like pennsylvania. The first debate is two weeks from today. The election is seven weeks from today. Biden and running mate harris are rarely at the same place at the same time. They both made the same slipup, both referred to the ticket separately as the harrisbiden administration. Obviously bumper stickers all say it is bidenharris. Connell . Connell yeah, you never, you dont want to necessarily make that mistake too many times. Peter hang with just for a second if you would. We expect to have the president s comments in the next 30 seconds or so i will just say in the time that we have florida would be really, really interesting because if you Start Playing around with the maps, believe it or not what i do in my spare time it is very, very difficult for the president to get to 270 without florida. Is that peter, on that note, the time has been filled efficiently. Here is the president moments ago on the south lawn. President trump we look forward to it. The economic world having to do with our country is doing unbelievably well. The numbers are good and you will see some very good numbers i think released just prior to november 3rd for the third quarter. I think they will be fantastic numbers. Do you have any questions . Reporter [inaudible] President Trump so with the suburban voter were taking care of them. It is about safety. It is about law and order. It is also about getting regulations where housing is forced into a suburban neighborhood, that is the american dream. By the way minorities want that. Everybody wants that. They want the american dream. When i think about is suburbia close to 30 minority. Some say stronger than that. They dont want it to be obliterated. We ended the rule or regulation, if biden got in he would put it right back and double it up. They say cory booker would be in charge. He is the one that is pushing it. Well not do that. Well not destroy suburbia. We have basically a very strong, very powerful law and order campaign. We are endorsed by almost every major police group, believe it or not. It is not easy for them to do. The Chicago Police just endorsed us. You heard that. New york city, new yorks finest endorsed us. We have ohio. We have florida. We have, i have mean we have everybody. And we just want safe streets. We dont want to have a portland. We dont want to have what happened in seattle. We took care of saying were going in. They immediately gave up. We dont want to have that we want to have safety. We dont want to have chicago where people get shot and people get killed. We dont want to have that. Those are all democratrun cities. We dont want to have that. Reporter mr. President , yesterday in california you said, i dont think the science knows actually when it comes to climate change. Can you explain what you mean by that . Sir, do you believe in that, sir . President president im a big believer in foreign management. He came up to me, sir, you happen to be right. When you let the norsk of the forest build up with leaves and build up with broken timber that is dry as a bone youre causing forest fires. That is a problem. Youre causing forest fires. I believe in a lot of thing but i definitely believe in forest management. Plus you have to have some breaks. If you dont have breaks in between so that when you do have areas youre not going to lose 250,000acres every time of beautiful forest. So and i think frankly the governor, i get along with him very well, i think the governor agrees with me. Yeah, please. Reporter do you think Global Warming is a hoax . President trump i think you have people dont want to address china. They dont want to address russia. They dont want to address india. They dont want to address these countries that havent done very much for Global Warming for the Carbon Footprint for any of the things they talk about. You have a lot of countries that you know, were supposed to do it and we do do it. By the way our carbon numbers right now are very low, theyre really low. Our water, our air, i want it to be clean. I want it to be immaculate. I want it to be crystal. I want it to be absolutely clean. That is what were doing. But at the same time we dont want to drive our businesses out because they cant compete. If you look with china all the plants they have, just take a look at china. Look at what is coming out of china. Take a look at our oceans, see is dumping in our oceans. It is not us. It is not us. I think that is something people should be addressing. Steve . Reporter [inaudible]. President trump what are they going to do . Reporter wto ruling tariffs are illegal on china. President trump well have to do something about the wto. They are getting away with murder. They consider china to be a developing nation. By a developing nation, this just happen, steve . Just happened . Well take a look at that, but im not a big fan of the wto. That i can tell you right now. Maybe they did is us a big favor. Reporter [inaudible] oracle deal . President trump well make a decision pretty soon. I have a high respect for Larry Ellison. He is somebody i know. He has been really a terrific guy for a long time. So were going to take a look. I heard theyre very close to a deal. And well be looking at the tiktok deal with Larry Ellison and oracle. Reporter mr. President why do you suppose your former aid, general mattis [inaudible] President Trump were very different. You can see that with the deal we made today. Im not a big fan of general mattis as you know. I think he is a very overrated general but regardless i guess he is a nice guy. He just didnt do the job for me. He didnt do the isis job after we got rid of him, it worked out very well. We took over 100 of the caliphate but i do think differently, if you listen to the three World Leaders today, these are highlyrespected leaders and countries, u. A. E. Is a, is a tremendously respected warrior. Theyre warriors. They are very strong, respected country. If you listen to what they said nobody thought of the plan that i thought of. It is going around the backdoor. I call it going around the smart door doming in a different way. Many other countries are joining us. They will join us soon. Well have, i mean i think seven or eight or nine, well have a lot of other countries joining us, including the big ones. We already have the big one, including the big one. This is not something that the people that you mentioned would be able to be doing and it is not something that my critics thought was possible. Now they say, wow, that was a good idea. I will say it has gotten rave reviews, even from the New York Times and tom friedman and a lot of people that dont like donald trump too much, they have given it literally rave reviews. So this is one deal but we have many others like this. Look, our country has been stagnant for many years. We did nothing but give our money away, give our wealth away, and give our jobs away and now we stopped that. We stopped that 3 1 2 years ago. Reporter [inaudible] President Trump i spoke with the king of saudi arabia. At the right time i think they will come in, yes i do. This is a, this is a very big and very historic moment. I think everyone agrees to that. But well have other countries coming in fairly rapidly . Reporter [inaudible] President Trump i think this. I think you have a governor of nevada who wouldnt let us use outside venues. You know the night before, i think you were there, we had a massive crowd. It was an outside venue. We had other outside venues the next day in las vegas. The governor made it impossible for the people to do it, our people, the people to do it and forced us into an indoor rally. We didnt want an indoor rally. We did an indoor rally. They spaced as much as they could have. The governor could have solved a problem, all they had to do was let us use outdoor venues. They had 25,000 people outside of the venue that couldnt get in. It is very interesting, when they have protests thats okay. When they have violence, where they have anarchists, they have agitators that is okay. The governor of nevada should not be in charge of ballots. The ballots are going to be a disaster for our country, and the governor of nevada should not be in charge of ballots. When he wont let us meet and congregate and do really, a friendly protest, he should not be in charge of the ballots. Youre going to have problems with the ballots like nobody has ever seen before. Reporter [inaudible]. Melissa all right. So there is the president just moments ago at the white house. That was tape playback. He is on his way to pennsylvania. Hitting on number of topics there at the end. Talking about ballot security. One of the Great Questions around this president ial election, in terms of how many people are going to go and vote at the polls versus send them in by mail, et cetera. Also a lot of talk about the economy and of course about joe biden as both candidates step up their schedules to try to capture some of the states that can really turn this election. Lets discuss all of this now with james freeman. Assistant editor of the wall street journal editorial page. He is also a fox news contributor. Right before the president came out to talk to the press we were looking at the situation in florida and you see the president going to pennsylvania and these are the states where it is much too close to call and, you know, whoever wins them could very well win the whole election. One of the issues, one of the strategies i think that is really interesting, james, on the president s part, you see democrats seems like really focus on identity politics. They kind of see groups as a monolith. Latino voters, check weve got them. Black voters, check we got them. President sees the nuance in the groups. He sees the cuban part of the hispanic vote that didnt like the Obamabiden Administration towards cuba. He sees conservative hispanics antiabortion and profamily and religious, he sees different parts of these groups that democrats take as a whole that he can pick off to surprise them. He did it in the last election. This time he has got police and firefighters, those were groups that were democrat last time within the black vote. He picks off of a piece, with, with prison reform. What do you think about that analysis . Does that sound right to you . I think, i agree with it to an extent but i guess i would take it a little further, what he is offering an agenda that appeals to most voters. You mentioned peace, prosperity, public safety. There are certain parts coalition youre talking about where these things resonate more than others. I think very much the, the state joe biden made welcoming the socialist Bernie Sanders in doing his unity task force, working so hard to get the sanders voters, i think biden is going to alienate people in florida who have roots in latin america who know the pain, the poverty, the misery that results from socialist regimes. So i think that is part of it but i think overall it is the, it is a broadly appealing trump agenda. You were talking about the environment, we spoke last week about how trump was talking about cleaning the up the everglades, conserving wildlife, maintaining parks. Joe biden is talking about revolutionary change to how we produce energy. So i think, i think the trump message is, if people can accept trump the person, i think they will vote for the agenda. Melissa well, that is a really interesting point because then that would, you know that kind of speaks to the idea he doesnt get women voters that assumes that women vote on, you know, womens issues as opposed to im focused on the economy. I want the person who will be best for the economy because i think that floats the most boats. That is an interesting perspective. Speaking of the economy, so he was talking about the stagnation, you know, during the Bidenobama Administration and as we look at this recovery, trying to come out of the pandemic, and he points to the recovery, you know, out of the last financial crisis, do you think that voters have that kind of a memory to look back to say, one thing for us to say that was the slowest recovery since they have been keeping track of it, since world war ii, versus now when were seeing a, were in a much earlier part of a faster recovery but do people remember back to when president obama was president and think about what the economics were like . I think there is a question whether people remember the slow, sluggish pace of that economy but i think they certainly remember and it shows up in the polling how strong the trump economy was precovid. We saw the census data. Household income, Median Household Income rising 7 in 2019. Voters certainly see how quickly jobs have been coming back since those spring lockdowns. I think that is the reason. You see why the president continues to lead on the economy even though we just have gone through a very tough economic period here over the last six months. And so whether or not people remember just how bad that obamabiden era was, i think it is certainly top of mind that the president has had a lot of success in terms of economic policies. Melissa so, james, when you look at pockets of the economy across the country where is it the weakest right now and does that match up with states that you know, are the swing states . Well this is the other issue that i think is moving in the president s direction. Voters increasingly question the lockdowns. They are, i think more cognizant of the economic and Even Public Health destruction of lockdowns compared to the kind of uncertain benefits that we got. You mentioned places that are recovering. Now one place that has not recovered very well in terms of high unemployment is new york. Very Strict Lockdown in new york. So i think they [inaudible]. Just a big court case, a federal judge deciding in pennsylvania that lockdowns, many of the lockdowns imposed by the government there were unconstitutional but there is a trend towards opening up. Looks like states like georgia which didnt restrict their economy as much were still able to control the virus. They are in a lot better shape economically than places like new york or new jersey. Melissa james, thank you for bearing with us through the technical issues of that because you had brilliant thoughts. We were glad we were able to get them. Connell, over to you. Connell thank you. Got through it. Now our fox business alert is on fedex. The stock price in afterhours trading is up by 5 because fedex just reported very strong earnings compared to expectations. Melissa hurricane salary is inching towards the gulf coast expected to bring lifethreatening flooding. Fox team coverage. Adam klotz is at the Weather Center tracking the storm. Grady trimble is at the mobile, alabama where the hurricane is expected to history and hit hard. Adam, lets kick it off with you. Melissa this is a big powerful storm and slowmoving storm and ultimately that will be the story. The speed of this, it is crawling two miles an hour. Winds at 80 miles an hour. We see some outer bands of rain battering the coastline from the florida big bend stretching all the way across the panhandle, getting into alabama and mississippi. That is only going to intensify overnight. Peak winds offshore, getting up into the 60s. A lot of winds in the 40 to 50 mileanhour range. Well see that all night long. Ultimately the water is the store with this one. Story takes it to landfall tomorrow morning. A strong category 1, perhaps getting up to a weak category 2. But it is going to bring a lot of water with it. When a storm moves only two miles an hour, is give as lot of time for rain running over the same locations. This is moving very slowly to the north. All of the areas that gets in the path of this, it kind of sit there is a long time. Here are the rainfall totals. You get into the white area, anywhere from 10 to 20inches. There will be isolated areas of rain getting up to 30 inches. This pulls all the water as far as north of atlanta, georgia, carolinas. That is getting as much as 10inches of rain. Flood watches and warnings will be the big story. That will be the story. Melissa. Back to you. Melissa wow. Thank you, adam. Grady, what is it like on the ground . Reporter were getting a break from the pelting rain we had earlier with the winds driving that rain. There are strong gusts im feeling right now. A bit of a break as we sit along the mobile river. This is exactly where sally is expected to make landfall but it might not be, as adam said until tonight or tomorrow. And that is what is causing people to wait in anticipation. You can see it is actually fairly calm out here. There are other parts along the alabama coast and florida coast that are getting hit harder right now but once that eyewall makes landfall and moves into this area the threat is the storm surge. That is a fear. You also mentioned the rain. There is concerns that the rain will cause flash flooding combined with the storm surge, with how slow this is moving it could drop two feet of rain into some areas. This part of mobile river, that moves into the bay it is all business. Houses are not too high off of sea level. If there is serious flooding those homes could be threatened by that. That is certainly something to watch for along the rivers. Just across the bay there are several rivers that could see historic flooding. It could be lifethreatening. That is why there are evacuation orders for those areas in Baldwin County as this storm moves closer. Melissa . Melissa grady, thank you for that. Connell . Connell all right. The First Generation College graduate, Miami Dolphins player Christian Wilkins partnered up with capital one giving virtual support to students with workshops and mentoring programs, Career Readiness for these students as well. Christian joins us right now. Youre uniquely qualified to do this. I mentioned this before the break. Its a great story because your guy, even before you made big money in the nfl, im told for known saving your money. You somehow managed when everybody is blowing through their money at clemson, you saved 15 grand, working as substitute teachorking for your undergraduate degree. Is there some sort of a secret method . What were you doing . No big secret, a lot of what i used through my whole life is discipline. Finding a plan that works for you, being disciplined sticking to that plan. For me it is the four bucket plan. I had four buckets of money, put a little money into each account. Stick to my plan. I knew what i wanted at the end of the day. Eventually i was able to do that, say, more than 15 grand saved throughout my college career. There was good little strategies and things i used, techniques and strategies im able to apply in the nfl while i make more money. You know, just those same plans, that same discipline allowed me to save money now in the nfl. Still being able to do a lot of things i want to do. Connell it is interesting, you graduate clemson as undergraduate in 2 1 2 years. You could have left early to go to the nfl. You stayed to get a masters. Youre a still first round pick of the dolphins. Nfl player making a lot of money. So how do you deal with the temptations . It is fine to go out to buy yourself a car, whatever the case may be, a nicer house, i guess, the temptation is to blow through that money. A lot of Young Athletes do that. How do you deal with that . There is temptations but for me im fairly humble and just i dont really, like again, goes back to discipline. I dont feel the need to spend this, do that. Stay rooted what i always stayed rooted into. That is creating, setting myself up for you know, a better life when im done playing football. I set myself up, using kind of money im getting out of essentially the generational wealth. Not just money that is for me. Connell right. Now you partnered up at the outset as i said with capital one, trying to pass it on to students which is admirable. Let me ask you a little bit about money and sports if i can before we wrap this up. I think it is interesting because were going through this pandemic. Obviously the nfl is back. You guys as we established. You guys get paid a lot of money to play at the College Level. Not long ago you would have had to deal with this yourself. They will make announcements in the big 10, your former conference is already playing games. The sec, acc, theyre playing games but players dont get paid, but what is your view on that . Bringing in a lot of money quite frankly i think the reason theyre playing in the big conferences in the middle of a pandemic. What is your view on whether College Athletes get paid . The. That is a good question, i get that a lot. I get the counter arguments why athletes shouldnt get paid, theyre amateurs, things like that. My thing i think there should be essentially be ways for them to be set up for the future. Maybe if they dont get it then there in the moment, set up a fund they get if they graduate or, you know, maximize their eligibility, go four or five years at a program, i feel like there essentially should be a nest egg or fund or money allotted to players if they graduate or finish at the university. You know that way gives guys incentive to stay in school or Something Like that, to finish school or everything like that. That is how i feel about that. But i definitely feel like athletes work extremely hard. You work just as hard as you do in the nfl at the College Level and you see the type of money nfl players are making. I get it, youre getting scholarship or education, but there can be compensation for athletes. Connell i hear you. That is really wellreasoned argument, kind of a middle ground between both sides. Good luck with everything with capital one. Im sure a lot of students will learn. How could they not. Will learn from you, great example. Christian wilkins, we appreciate it. From the Miami Dolphins. Joining me now to break it down, gary kaltbaum, president of kaltbaum Capital Management and fox news contributor. What do you think, walmart or amazon . I think both. I think walmart is going to kill it. They only do 4, 500 billion a year. So they have customers all over the globe and i think it is going to go real well. Expect to see a lot of perks in addition to what they have right now. Amazon prime is more expensive but you get video and books and things like that. This will go big time for walmart. I think a smart move. Its a long time coming. Melissa good move for everybody. As walmart chases amazon, amazon is chasing the luxury market, today launching luxury store experience on its mobile app. Oscar de la renta is the first only label to open in the shop today. Gary, do you think others will follow suit and i notice you can buy a car on amazon now . I saw a nice rav4 im looking at right now. What do you think of the luxury and all the places amazon is going . Everyones going to follow suit because they get amazon and all the eyes that go on to amazon and im surprised this didnt happen a long time ago. It just seems like amazon is going to sell anything and everything Going Forward. There is, i dont think there is a market they will not get into. It just seems they do it better than most and they almost perfected the delivery part of it and jeff bezos, i have nothing bad to say about this guy. He is really got it going. He is just another avenue for them. Gary, why only in canada and when do you want to go try it with me . Wine and cheese, do it with japula. If it workers and sells, like any good business, they will move it to other places. What i know this is through uber eats. This is more on the delivery. Im not so sure they want you showing up at the place drinking down a bottle with a few of the chalupas and start it. Whatever they sell they will continue to sell well see how it goes. Melissa places like chipotle made a lot of money with alcohol. It is same concept. Last one, hobby lobby will raise minimum hourly wage for fulltime employees to 17 an hour, october 1st. Love this, shows they need to be competitive, get wages up, in order to have workers this is the way the market is supposed to work. Gary . They didnt need Bernie Sanders toe mandate for them to do it. What a cone september. The market works. Capitalism works. Melissa what a concept. The best part about it, other companies will see it and have to compete and may force up wages even more. Fine and dandy. Good for hobby lobby. They recognized they can go higher. They recognize that the employees need it. So be it. Again, the way markets work is when somebody starts other people follow. I expect you will see some other 17s Going Forward. Melissa gary, thank you. Fantastic. Connell . Connell covered a lot of ground. University of illinois urbanachampagne showing upturn in covid19 infections despite the school having one of the most comprehensive approaches to limiting the spread of the virus on campus. Well talk about that with chancellor robert jones who joins us. Before we do, i do not want to have not have time to ask you a question at the end, but i think were about to find out there will be big 10 football for the fighting illini and big 10 conferences. Is there anything you can he will us about that . Not at this time but thank you for asking. Connell [laughter]. That is, well not a surprise i suppose. I can tell youve been told to keep it quiet for now. The announcement is supposed to come anytime. Well wait on that announcement. Thank you so much. Connell tell us how you got ready for the virus, then what happened . As i said you had this comprehensive program, you like other big 10 schools, very big campus, tens of thousands of students. You come up with your own test and youre testing all the students but still you have to deal with the virus. Tell us how things have been going . Well, things have been going well. As you recall, or as you stated we have the most aggressive testing protocol that any university or any place in the country and in the world. And that was an absolute prerequisite for my provost and myself to contemplate any type of hybrid version or facetoface instruction. As we completed our Spring Semester we immediately began to look at what was necessary to have some form of facetoface instruction. We were concerned about the tests available. The turnaround time was too long. They were not very comfortable. They were not scalable. They were very costly. We created our own test. We commissioned a group of scientists led by marty burke and number of other scientists across our vet college to come up with a fast, scalable test. What they cam up with is absolutely remarkable is a salivabased test but unlike other saliva based test that is efficient, cost effective, scalable. It basically involves just dribbling or drooling into a test tube. It cuts out all of the bottleneck isolation protocol and reagents that are needed and goes directly into rtpcr without isolating the viral rna. So its a gamechanger. That has been at the core of our ability to test more than any other entity. We know, we do two to 3 of all the tests done in 20 of the tests in the state of 20 of the tests in illinois. And its a guamchanger. As of today, we have done over 305,000 tests since july 6th. Connell thats amazing. Let me ask you about that. We just have a limited im sorry to interrupt we just have a minute left because we had breaking news earlier in the show, so i want to get into how youve been dealing with it. Youre testing 40,000 students twice a week, but you still have a little uptick, right, in the virus . How have you dealt with that. We did have an uptick. Very quickly, we had anticipated students parties. We know young people are going to have parties, going to have gatherings. We set limits on those gatherings, but some chose to ignore those limits, had very large house parties, parties in the residence halls, etc. But the most egregious thing that happened that led to the uptick, and we can clearly point to how it occurred and why it occurred, is because there were a small number of people that tested positive, and not only hosted parties, but went to parties. And a small number of people that refused to add here to the adhere to the urbanachampagne Public Health department mandate to isolate and stay in isolation and stay in quarantine. But weve mitigated connell and you know all of that o. K. , youve been able to mitigate it with testing. Were going to follow up when we have more time. Thank you, sir. Hopefully, this works, getting all that data, and you can track it and trace it and stay open. Thats the connell thank you. Thank you. Connell melissa, back over to you. Melissa an alternative route to a traditional fouryear degree, google pushing its Career Certificate Program thats becoming an affordable and faster substitute to a normal college career. Very interesting. Gerri willis is here with the details on this one. Gerri. Reporter it is interesting. You can call it google university. This jobs program run by google is different from really any other Corporate Education Program because it ends with the award of a certificate, a diploma, if you will, thats recognized by 50 big u. S. Employers including walmart, hulu, sprint and, of course, google. Now, with no college degree, Tristan Alexander was supporting his wife and two kids with a Call Center Job that paid 38,000 a year. When he sought promotion, he jumped. Now he makes more than 70,000 a year. Listen. People feel like theres a certain path you need to take, and in todays world, thats no longer the case. You really can control your own trajectory of your career, and its a lesson that Companies Like google are setting that bar, changing the narrative of what you need to do in order to accomplish something. Reporter and starting in 2018 the google Career Certificate Program has already educated 300,000 folks in i. T. Support, ranking as the most popular offering. Then late last month google announced more course topics such as user experience, today a that analytics Data Analytics and project management. I want to show you the cost of this because how does it line up with costs . Well College Costs . If courses cost 294 for a six month class, compare that to the average cost of a credit hour at a fouryear institution . 598. It raises the question whether corporate programs could provide pricey higher ed with competition. Lots of folks say, yes, they could. Back to you, melissa. Melissa no, it makes a lot of sense, especially because theyre focus on something they do very well, tech. Thank you so much for that. And thank you for watching. Lou dobbs starts now.
