Basis. Keep you abreast of that. Barreling down, albeit barreling down slowly on Grady Trimble in gulf part mississippi. Reporter neil, sally is moving extremely slowly at two miles an hour. That is slower than most humans walk. You can see here it is starting to rain. The wind is picking up. Were in pascagoula, mississippi. The water is lapping over the side. The storm makes landfall tomorrow, is that tomorrowsurge continues. That the water pushed up. In area. Along beach boulevard there are many house us. Theyre not boarded up for the most part from what weve seen. Sternly a risk of flooding, with all of the oak trees, 85 mileperhour winds are nothing to mess around with either. Because the storm is moving so slowly well see several days worth of rain. You could see flash flooding on top of a potential for storm surge. I want to point out the pier in the background there. A light moment as people prepare for this very serious storm. We saw people gathered there we werent sure what they were doing. Turns the out there was a cat stuck under it. We talk with noah. He a storm chaser. He helped get a couple cats out from the peer. Neil youre related. Grady, thank you, very, very much. To gradys point, slower, the flooding is the worry there. We go to the republican mayor of biloxi, mississippi. Mayor, thank you very much for taking the time. Obviously you prepared in folks in your neck of the woods be careful. What are you telling them to do . Right, neil, great to be with you, we hit a couple of scares. We started preparing drills in april. Marco, cristobal and laura the other day. So weve ramped up on what the drill is and again, it seems that our neighbors in alabama, florida, are taking moist of the storm surge. A lot of wind but, we, dont want to, asking everyone to be vigilant, vulnerable areas, taking precautions. We dont want to lose any lives, so everything that needs to pay attention. Be vigilant. 34 people, nine water rescue teams ready to go. All the public works and the drainage. All all the problems with storm surge. I think it will be closer to six to nine foot range at this point in time. The meandering storm, kind of, you know makes everyone yes, and so far so good. A little bit wobble here and there. Running full force. Neil evacuation orders oar holding off on that . Not your home may be in jeopardy but way you get in and out. The roadways, were a peninsula. Were surrounded by water on three sides. A couple of bridges have to be open in order to exit to go to safe and Higher Ground up to the north of interstate 10 which runs to mississippi about 70 miles east and west. 100 miles or so. Paying attention to the roadways for evacuation as well as, you know, your neighborhood. It is an ongoing, concern, and, we asked, people to pay attention. Neil you know a lot of people are very leery of leaving their homes in this covid19 world, they dont want to go to shelters. How do you reassure them, if they pull the trigger, mayor, that is the safe thing to do . Its a scary thing, going through camille 15 years ago, it is troubling to to leave. Now in 2020, you know the pandemic, with, in our, places where you go, if you test positive with our test, temperature you get, you know, a safe place to go, separated from anyone else that would be there. Theyre taking, mema, mississippi Emergency Management organization, put a lot of thinking how we can handle the situation. Between mema, fema, of course our local employees, i think well look out, you can rest assured that, it will be. Neil you be well. Mayor, thank you for taking the time. Great. Neil we want to go to ken grant, National Hurricane center. Ken, how are things looking there right now . The big problem with sally, is slowness. Were moving two miles an hour. We have aircraft giving us the latest information. It is so slow. That is not expected to speed up very much at all. Were dealing with sally. That is wednesday evening. Right here were talking about thursday evening. Today through thursday. That is the problem. Slow movement, more time to produce potentially dangerous rainfall and storm surge. Neil i was startled how slow it is what is it looking like to you. Wondering where you think this will stack up . This is big reminder, neil. We see the winds coming down a little bit. That it will produce rainfall. I have seen these last couple years. Seen it over decades. Winds come down, a lot of time they expand and get core rains rainfall forecast with some areas getting 25 to 30, not just on the coast but portions of central alabama, getting into north georgia. A dangerous situation associated with water. Water is the leading cause of fatalities in these tropical systems. Neil you know, looking at just, how busy the season is, what is in the neighborhood, were already dealing with at least four other hurricanes, Tropical Storm, concurrently. I guess the first time weve seen this is the better part of 50 years. What is going on . Yesterday, right here in operations. Specialists are behind me. We were splitting up storms. We have five advisories at once, First Time Since september 1971. It is busy season. If youre in the busy season, entering the peak, everything got real busy. Were looking at with sally. We have to remind everybody. Were not done with the season. We still have to keep an eye on things. Neil we do. Youre always there to do just that, helping calm people down, appreciate the hard work and lack of sleep. Sure you dont. Ken graham, thank you very much. Be well. Ken is isolating what is the story here. These storms, if you think about what is happening right now with sally, youve got hurricane paullet. Tropical storm teddy, Tropical Storm vicki. You have Tropical Storm rene. All roughly in the same roughly 250mile neighborhood. We have not seen that since Richard Nixon was president. So it goes. More after this. Some likened it to camp david during the times of jimmy carter when that was egypt and israel burying the hatchet at the time, recognizing not only each others right to exist but to do business with each other. That has been maintained and never repeated since until the last few weeks when the United Arab Emirates and now bahrain recognized not only israels right to exist, of course for all of them to do business with one another. The president meeting with israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, similar meetings being planned and layered today before this joint signing of these accords here that will again normalize relations with the thought at least a half dozen other potential countries in the middle east were told entertaining the same thing. Peace is in the air. Lets get the latest from blake burman from the white house. Reporter you saw video of the israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arriving at the white house before the meeting that will be signed between israel and the United Arab Emirates. Meeting with leaders from the u. A. E. And bahrain. That is the second peace deal within the past month. Of course that signing ceremony will take place. President trump was just asked, neil, how many other countries might follow in the footsteps of the u. A. E. And of bahrain as it relates to israel . In the oval office the president said paraphrasing here, were very far down the road with five additional countries. Youre going to be seeing further announcements. He went on to go say this is a very big day. The president saying on fox friends when he called in earlier this morning, part of his strategy to implement a domino effect that that region, potentially to strike other deals with the biggest players in the middle east. Watch. President trump let me tell you when we start getting the rest of the countries in, they will come to the table 100 . Theyre getting to a point where they want to make a deal. They wont say that outwardly. They want to make a deal, okay . I tell you who else wants to make a deal. Iran wants to make a deal. Reporter after this event over here at the white house the president will hit the road. He will go to pennsylvania tonight where he will be involved with a town hall there. Joe biden own the road as well. He will go to ever so important i4 corridor in the state of florida. That is between tampa and orlando. Biden will be in tampa and kissimmee, florida, outside of orlando. The Trump Campaign will be involved with a 10 milliondollar ad buy in eight swing states over coming weeks, shifting the focus from law and order which the president has hit on to the economy saying that they believe it is going to be the signature issue as we come down the homestretch here. 10 million sounds like a lot of money. Of course it is. The president has been going on twitter today, saying they are acting smart in his words how they are spending, saying they have more money now than they did at this point in 2016. However if you also look at the number, according to advertising analytics, this week alone the Biden Campaign will be spending twice as much, more than twice as much as the Trump Campaign with a little more than 29 million in ad buys. Neil . Neil lets not leave out Michael Bloomberg willing to fork over 100 million to help biden in florida. No one has a shortage on the money, right . They have plentity of it, the question how it will be spent. Blake burman, thank you very much. First off on the money, whether it will make a difference early on in these races. Not so early on anymore. Carol roth, former investment banker, Jonathan Hoenig as well. Jonathan, we touched on bloomberg, 100 million to help biden in florida. That is state as tight as a tick if he were to win florida, joe biden from the victory the president enjoyed four years ago it would change the math. Do you think this money back and forth, advertising all the rest moves the needle . No, it does not. Especially for those who advocate for finance form, spending money on an election does not win you the election. Michael bloomberg himself is probably best example. There are others as well. Barack obama, for example, was famously outspent in a lot of his early races. People vote based not on how many ads, they vote based on their morals, based on their convictions. That is what will be on trial in this raves. Not who spends the most but who can appeal to americans most effectively. Neil we obsess on polls in this business, carol, perhaps a bit too much, i look numbers within numbers not only Battle Ground states and demographic groups and might be splintering hispanics come to mind, cuban latinos breaking overwhelmingly for the president in the whole hispanic demographic right now, the president is getting one out of three of those votes. Still early. That is unusual to put it mildly for a republican, even unusual for President Trump who enjoyed strong support from this community four years ago. How does that factor in to targeting ads and reaching out to those you think could tip the scale . I think that this is really all about freedom and i dont think that the polls play in as much neil, as they usually do. The reality i think there will be a lot of people who are closet trump voters, who say one thing and go to the poll and do Something Else because they like his policies but they may not like what he stands for, the way that he conduct the himself or the way he tweets. So theyre going to tell all of their friends and family theyre doing one thing and they will do Something Else. I dont think it is as much of a surprise in the cuban community, particularly escaping communism for them to be pushing back on the democrats move towards the progressive policies. When it comes to donald trump, all the things that we are related to polls and numbers in the past i think are thrown out the window. We saw that in 2016. I would expect much of the same this time around. Neil you know it is always risky to try to equate what the markets are doing with sentiment or sell graphing the election how it is going to go. I will throw it out there, are the markets figuring, calculating a potential trump comeback or looking at the possibility of a biden win . Federal reserve is a backstop that will support the economy, whatever is necessary, how do you play this . Neil, before you even look at the stock market look at the election beth markets, those Prediction Markets made with real money and theyre showing the race getting very tight right now. So there is really no consensus to carols point which way this could flop. In terms of what election, what impact the president ial election has on the market, neil, interestingly, there is no correlation between the party in office and the stock market performance. It is not as if markets always do better under republicans or democrats. What really matters are the policies enacted. For example, there is direct correlation between high taxes, high regulation and a stagnant economy. So i think the market dealing with a lot right now. A lot of stimulus, a lot of intervention, trying to gauge who will win but type of Big Government policies will be enacted as a result. Neil we do know if joe biden comes in, carol, he will reverse a lot of the tax cuts president put in place, hiking taxes on you two, come to think of it and that is going to be the start. It wont be just limited. There are effects that go way beyond the grey poupon crowd that could filter down pretty much like the amt tax that was meant to enshare a few people avoiding paying taxes and ultimately roped in a third or more of american taxpayers. What kind of impact would that have or is it welltelegraphed right now . First thing that always needs to be reiterated the government does not need an additional time at the federal level. They spent 8 trillion at all levels. This is very much a power grab. It is something i think people need to push back on. Even if you took every single dollar away from the five richest people it wouldnt even fund the government for two months in one year. All that money would be spent this is a way for the government to trick the middle class into saying, yeah, it is a good idea. You should raise more taxes on the rich but it always comes down to the middle class. I hate to say it the rich and powerful are all connected. Even if the top number is higher, there is always a loophole in there somewhere. Unfortunately it is the burden of the middle class. I wish people wouldnt keep falling for this ruse over and over again. This enables this incredible government creep weve had. Neil final word on the subject. Jonathan, thank you very much. Were keeping an eye on the white house. This is a big day. A the lot of people likened it to 1978 when we had the camp david accord signs. Begin was running israel and sadat was running egypt. They buried the hatchet. They will recognize each other. It froze in place for better part of four decades, right . More than that. Now the ice is broken. Two countries, United Arab Emirates and bahrain want to do business with israel and business with them. Others are pending. Were getting tape play back with the u. A. E. Foreign minister. On the same day the u. A. E. And bahrain are being recognized for recognizing israel and israel wanting to do business with them. Normalizing relations. Lets go to the white house. President trump well see the palestinians and other important countries to come into the transaction. They would be here today frankly if we wanted them. You will see great things happening in the middle east. You will have peace without blood in the sand. For years you had blood in the sand. All you had was blood in the sand. You got nothing for it. They got nothing for it. Now you will have peace. It will be a rael peace. Most powerful countries. This is great warring nation if it wants to be, tremendous military, powerful military. They are really great warriors. It is very important we had you. We had great talks as you know with Bashar Alassad and the king and i think hes going to be terrific. I think he has a very open mind. But i have had very personal talks with the king and the crown prince and i think their mind is very open. Theyre very much, i think they are going to come along really well. So it is an honor to be here. Well have a ceremony outside and, i just want to say that being, you were the first, being the first was very important that you be the first for us because you are leading a path. Youre leading a way, it is something that people are very surprised at. I will is a that even the biggest optimists were shocked when they heard about this transaction and shocked in a very positive way. So i want to thank you for making it all happen. Thank you very much. Reporter mr. President critical of this agreement [inaudible] over the last 24 hours. Will you be extending any security guaranties to those that President Trump were working together. Well see what happens with iran. I would say right after the election, within a period of a week, maybe a month, but within a period of a very short period, within maybe, i mean literally a very short time, you will have iran coming back and saying lets get this whole thing worked out. Iran is suffering. Iran, i dont want them to suffer but their economy has tanked. They have a minus 27 gdp. Nobody ever heard of a number like that. I think it is perhaps a record setter but theyre down 27 . And i think they want to make a deal but they would much rather deal with Sleepy Joe Biden than me. We will make a deal. I will make a very fair deal. I even suggested wait until after the election. Make yourself feel good. Wait until after the election. Well see what happens with iran. I think iran will end up being a part of a very large and very difficult part of the world. Look the middle east has been very complex, very difficult part of the world. Were making it easier, were making it a lot simpler. I think right after our election, the american election, if we win well have a deal with iran. I think were going to make a deal with iran. Reporter mr. President , when do you expect other countries in the region to follow the u. A. E. s lead and normalize relations with israel and which countries are President Trump i dont want to say the countries but we have many of them. They will come along rather rapidly, some before the election perhaps. But a lot of them after. In that case they wont be waiting for the election. It is just a question of getting it done. They very, very excited about being a part of this. Some would have been a part of it today in my opinion if we wanted to but we didnt want to press it. We wanted to give you the dignity and respect because you were the first one, you were the first one. We have bahrain here as you know. Bahrain is signing here today as you know. We have a list of whos who. They will be signing the deal and it is an incredible thing is happening. It has come a lodges way. The middle east come a long way. Real good for everyone. Great for your country. So it is an honor to be here. So wellreceived. Thank you very much. Thank you very much. [inaudible conversations]. Neil all right. John hofmeister with us right now. That was with the leader of the United Arab Emirates. Coming up another tape provided of president meeting with Benjamin Netanyahu of israel. John, think about all the crosscurrents in energy. None of us can forget the oil embargo, opec oil embargo, relations were severely frayed not only with that community and israel. That community with us. It is a very different world now, isnt it . Well it is. There has been fractured relationships in the middle east for as long as i have been alive, neil. Im 72 years old, from 1948 on it has been rough. We had all kinds of consequences for many years, involving many players. It all has to do with the political inability of people to get along which, you know in the common sense of things doesnt make sense. So i, i just say, you know, hats off to the work that has been going on to reach this point. Neil honk on hang on that, john. Jumping on you with Benjamin Netanyahu and president of the United States. Listen to this. Okay. President trump you are an amazing leader for a long period of time. This is in many respects the big day. This is something very special. We just left u. A. E. And bahrain. Well meet outside in a ceremony. It is just a very important event. It is an honor to have you with us, bebe, thank you very much. Thank you, mr. President. I have said, this is true, that you have the key to the hearts of the people of israel because of all the great things youve done for the jewish state and the jewish people so thank you. President trump thank you very much. Fantastic. We look forward to being outside. Any questions . Reporter great event [inaudible]. Israel is getting a lot. What is israel giving back . This is the Israeli Press that wants to chip away. [shouting questions] President Trump i think what israel is getting and what israel is getting more than anything else is peace. They will have peace. As you know, u. A. E. , United Arab Emirates is a great warring nation, a very powerful nation in the region. They very much wanted to do this. Mohammed is a tremendous leader like bebe is a tremendous leader. It is important to have them first very early and, you know, the relationship is fantastic. A lot of people are surprised to see it. And as you know, we have bahrain. We have many nations ready to follow, many nations. I cant, no, not now. I wont. Well be signing up other nations. These are very strong agreements. These are very strong. This is peace, this is sear race peace. So i think what israel gets, the most important thing theyre getting by far is peace. [shouting questions] President Trump excuse me. One at a time, please. That one. President trump which one . The one in the white. In the white, go ahead. Reporter which countries will be following [inaudible] President Trump we very far down the road. You u. A. E. They deserved it. Bahrain came immediately after. They wanted to do it. Well have five or six countries coming along very quickly. Were already talking to them. We want to see peace. They have been fighting for a long time. Theyre tired. Theyre warring can countries i think, i even said that to representatives of them. You should wait to see the election first. There is nothing that india, china, probably russia would like better than to have Sleepy Joe Biden become the president. Because, if sleepy joe won they would own the United States all of them. China would own the United States. So, i told all of them i said wait until after the election. But after the election, we have to make a better deal. I do say that. Were going to make a better deal than we would have. But with iran, they certainly should wait until after the election, because frankly a biden win will make a much better deal. But im going to make a good deal with iran. I will make a great deal for iran. It will get them back, help them in every way possible. Iran will be very happy. Iran will be very rich and very quickly. But i think they should wait until after the election. You understand what i mean by that . Because a dream for those countries would be sleepy joe. Reporter [inaudible] President Trump say it. Reporter [inaudible] i think they come along. Obviously we speak to them. They come a belong way. They used to pay them 750 million a year when i came here. People, why do you pay when they treat the United States with such disrespect . They speak so badly to america. Death to israel. We give them 750 million a year. I said why didnt somebody cut oaf the payments . We didnt think it would be appropriate. I said well i do. I cut off payments to them as you know. But other countries give them money. Deal with very rich countries. These countries are now all signing with us. Theyre always signed with us, all of them. I spoke with the king of saudi arabia. We had a great conversation. I think positive things will happen there too. He is a great gentleman. And, the crown prince, we spoke with the crown prince. We made tremendous strides. And this is peace in the middle east, without blood all over the sand. I say it. Right now. It has been blood all over the sand for decades and decades and decades. That is all they do. They fight and kill people. Nobody gets anything. This is, this is strong peace. Really strong peace. And its a different way. We went in the backdoor. I call it going in the very smart door. We went in the smart door. Were getting people and the palestinians will absolutely be a member. I dont say that with any bravado. I tell you the palestinians will be the member at the right time. At the right time. Reporter [inaudible]. President trump were working a deal. Were talking to the palestinians. At the right time they will be joining too. Reporter off the table is that something President Trump dont want to talk about that right now. That is working out very well, very good for the people coming in and for israel. And again, israel wants peace. And theyre a great warring nation if they have to be. You see that. They have the best equipment. They have the best of everything but they dont want this. After all of these years, even bee he begets tired of war. Theyre a strong nation, strong power. They want to get on with their lives. Israel wants peace. They really want peace. I give this gentleman a great deal of credit. He has done great job. Thank you. Mr. President i heard a question from one of the people here, will israel feel isolated. Heck no. Were bringing it to the entire world because we have a strong, free, economy. We have strong military. We have a strong relationship with a president of the United States and of the american people. And i can tell you we have strong relationships throughout the middle east. The president intimated how many countries are waiting to join the circle of peace. You know israel doesnt feel isolated at all. It is enjoying the greatest diplomatictry up of its history. People, because of the pressure president has applied on them, is ran, they are under pressure. You know i hope they all come around. I hope everyone will come around to the circle of peace. But no, we dont feel isolated at all. Quite to the contrary. President trump i would say this, there is less isolation now for israel than there ever has been. Today they would be less isolated than ever been. I thank your ambassador. Imagine the right. This is what eye lace looks like. I have great respect. Thank you all for being here. Heard from bahrain this is all on tape. Very soon they will be having the celebration on the south lawn of the white house, answering all three conferees and their work. So well be hearing from the Foreign Ministers of bahrain and United Arab Emirates. Benjamin netanyahu, the Prime Minister of israel here. This allows them to continue expanding business relationships, the old saw that talk about when people are doing business with each other. Theyre less inclined to think about killing each other. This has been ramped up here by this president. Two major deals that, gets these countries not only recognizing each other, expanding relations with each other. If the president is right, a number of other countries are thinking doing the same thing. At least four or five others were told. John hofmeister back with us. Very patient through all of this. I might interrupt you again. Apologize for the white house signing ceremony. Your thought how this compares. Many are using analogy of camp david accords back in 1978. Your thoughts . I think this is almost miraculous in a sense could come together quickly. Frankly a great thing for the world. A great thing for energy as well. It enables these countries who are producing so much of the Worlds Energy to actually use the proceeds of that Energy Production for the people of those countries rather than buying armaments. Rather than trying to staff up the military, to look for the greatest, technical weapon to use against their neighbors. Enables us to start looking after the social responsibilities, the educational opportunities, the other Business Development type opportunities. So i think peace in the middle east would be a godsend to this world because otherwise, it is the most militarized zone or region on earth. What a shame all the money is spent on armaments when it can be spent on citizens of the region this is a great out come for everyone. It takes some tension away from using oil as a military weapon or economic weapon to the rest ever the world. Because of the is israeli relationship which previously disrupted oil relationships. If that goes away, we have a normal production flow much like we do in the United States where we have Energy Companies doing what they do, to produce the Worlds Energy. Then in the middle east they can do the same. I think its a great day all around, neil. Neil you know for the president the importance of this, well switch over to the white house. I dont know if you have a tv set on near you, president of various leaders and Foreign Ministers of bahrain and United Arab Emirates, as well walking out israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. They come very shortly to the microphone, john. Wonder, more parochial concerns, energy what is going on in the gulf, another hurricane barreling down, the industry prepared for that . You see prices barely budging . The storm is coming through the gulf which is not heavily populated with rigs. The more are to the west. 20 of the platforms theyre taking people off so theyre shut down. I think a ripple in a pond compared to laura. Laura affected 80 of the gulf where the oil is produced and gas is produced. Sally is affecting only 20 . Neil john hand haw is with us as well. Youve been with many foreign agreement and the importance of, and dream of having peace or something resembling stability in the middle east. This is a giant step towards that. Other countries are expected to follow. What would pressure them to follow . What do you think . Clearly a lot of couldnttries in the middle east realized for years, neil, their National Interests have been held hostage by the Palestinian Conflict on the 7th or 8th decade. They realized threats in the region own changed. Iran, Islamic Radicalism. They want a relationship with israel, the most powerful military, intelligence power in the middle east and country that probably has the most dynamic and technologically advanced economy in the middle east. These countries still care about the palestinian issue. Neil. They want to see it resolved but they are no longer going to sacrifice their own National Interests in having better relationship with israel and with the United States frankly. Neil john when you were working with Vice President cheney, he had tough view in regards to iran. Not a fan of the deal barack obama would later sign with the iranians, one this president tore up to start from scratch. Owe intimated that, that is President Trump, that a deal could be had with the iranians. What do you think . Well, i mean i hope the president is right. Iran has given us very little reason to believe that theyre yet ready to come to the deal, come to the table and do a new deal. They are clearly waiting and praying for a Vice President biden who they do think will be a lot easier and prepared to lift sanctions without asking very much of the iranians. So i think this all depends on what happens in november, to see whether or not the iranians will be unenough pressure to do what the president says, that theyre going to do, which is come to the table and try and get to a better deal, that really does address the full panoply of malign iranian activities that have proven so destablizing to the middle east. I was thinking too, he caught me offguard, iranians could be next. Separate iran deal to redo the one barack obama had with them. Wait, recognize israels right to exist, i got ahead of myself there. That is not going to happen anytime soon, is it . No. Well be lucky enough to get them back to the table and seriously negotiating a better deal than the failed iran nuclear deal. But recognizing israel i think is off the table. But what is clearly now on the table, neil, is for the United States to gather most of the arab countries of the middle east into some kind of a new strategic relationship with israel, under the cover of American Power, not russian power. Not chinese power. But American Power in the middle east, that will, that will dramatically alter the balance of forces in that region and favor american interests. Favor stability and security and prosperity in that region. That has been just so troubled for decades. It really could be a gamechanger. Neil so do you get any sense here that there is a rush to do something just in case, just in case the president is not reelected . These countries might be contemplating the likes of bahrain and United Arab Emirates are look at clock, maybe we should score a deal while the deal is good . What do you think of thatp . I do think to one extent they are buying some, lets say political insurance in washington. There is nothing more popular than coming forward as an arab state and making peace with israel, americas greatest ally in that region and some of these countries arent in the best of flavor. We think of saudi arabia and the trouble that the crown prince of saudi arabia has had in this town for the kashoggi incident, for the war in yemen. They have a lot of interests in coming and showing to washington that they can step up and make a dramatic move for peace. Whether they do that now with President Trump or soon after the election with the President Biden it is an easy way for these arab states to buy some real Political Capital in washington. Some of them badly do need it. Neil you know, looking at this, im looking at prior administrations, the middle east has bedeviled president s republican stripe, democratic stripe, they would like to get deals that foster peace. We thought that in 1978 with the camp david accords with jimmy carter. Anwar sadat, begin that came procamp david, finally broached the idea that the two sides can talk to one another. This was brokered in a different way. Do we all know how it all came to pass . Again, these relations between some ever these smaller gulf arab regimes and israel been going on few decades at least under the table and economic and Security Intelligence space. A lot of them wanted to bring this out into the open but it took President Trump to say, and frankly, his soninlaw, Jared Kushner to say, there is a huge opportunity here. The region has changed dramatically in terms of the threat perspective, particularly with regard to iran, israel and arabs now share that threat in common. The palestinian issue is much less important to all of them. And the United States took advantage of that opportunity now to bring that from under the table to aboveboard now and out into the open for a fullon normalization, that again is different from camp david. 40 years ago anwar sadat, were expelled from the arab league for making peace with israel. The arab league now has decided not even to denounce this deal but to give the u. A. E. And bahrain a green light to act in their own National Interests. As President Trump has said. There is every reason to believe that these are the first now, of what will be many arab states coming forward to make a peace deal with israel. This is a real peace train and people are really going to move quite quickly i believe within, if america plays its cards right to get these arab states on board and to really transform the strategic landscape in a region in a way we couldnt really hope for 40 years ago when sadat was so brave and made the peace deal. Neil were showing our age, arent we . Thank you, my friend, very, very much. The white house. President of the United States. The president. President trump the first lady and i are honored to welcome to the white house Prime Minister netanyahu of israel and mrs. Netanyahu. Thank you so much. Thankthankthankthank you, sara. Foreign minister abdullah bin zayad. United arab emirates. U. A. E. Thank you very much. And foreign minister abdullah al zani of bahrain. Thank you very much. [applause] were here this afternoon to change the course of history. After decades of division and conflict we mark the dawn of a new middle east, to execute the great courage of the leaders of these three great countries we take a major stride in the future where people of all backgrounds can live together in peace and prosperity. These visionary leaders will sign the first two peace deals between israel and the arab state in more than a quarter century. Israels entire history, there have previously only been two such agreements. Now we have achieved two in a single month. And there are more to follow. [applause] israel, the United Arab Emirates and bahrain will establish embassies, exchange ambassadors, and begin the cooperative and Work Together so strongly to cooperate as partners across the broad range of from tourism to trade in healthcare to security, they will Work Together, they are friends. If they ever have accords also open the door for muslims around the world to visit the Historic Sites and israel and to peacefully pray that jerusalem, the third holiest site in islam. [applause] together these agreements will serve as a foundation for a comprehensive peace across the entire region, something which nobody thought was possible, certainly not in this day and age, many may be decades from now. One founded on shared interests, Mutual Respect and friendship to our honored guest from israel, the United Arab Emirates and bahrain, congratulations on this outstanding achievement. Congratulations. [applause] i also want to thank Vice President mike pence, thank you mike, great job. [applause] secretary of state mike pompeo, mike thank you very much. [applause] National Security advisor robert obrien, robert thank you. , mr. Jared kushner, thank you very much. [applause] ambassador brian hoke, thank you very much brian, thank you and alvey berkowitz, thank you very much. I also want to give a very special thanks, hes been an incredible basket or to israel, david freedman. [applause] that is a very great group of people, great group of patriots, they wanted this to happen so badly, they worked so hard and nobody thought it could happen and they thought it could happen and they never even doubted it. I want to thank you all very much. Thank you. For generations the people of the middle east have been held back by old conflicts, hostility, lies, so many things held them back, actually lies that the jews and arabs were enemies and that alaska mocks was under attack, constantly they would say was under attack, these lies passed down from generation to generation field a vicious cycle that spread across the region and all over the world, these agreements prove that the nations of the region are breaking free from the failed approaches of the past, today signing said history on a new course and there will be other countries very, very soon that will follow these great leaders. [applause] the people of the middle east will no longer allow hatred of israel to be tormented as an excuse for radica radicalism or extremism, so important and they will no longer allow the great destiny of the region to be denied. On my first foreign trip as president , i had the honor of addressing the leaders of more than 54 arab and muslim nations in saudi arabia, my message that day was very simple, i urge the nation of the middle east to set aside their differences, unite against the common enemy of civilization and Work Together toward the noble aims of security and prosperity, i offered americas friendship, i offered americas help but i said clearly the nations of the region had to decide what kind of a future they wanted for their children and for their families and for their nation itself. No one could make that choice for them, they had to do that themselves. Today the world sees they are choosing cooperation over conflict, friendship over entity, prosperity over property and hope over despair. They are choosing a future in which arabs and israelis, muslims, jews and christians can live together, pray together and dream together, sidebyside in harmony, community and peace. Once again let me congratulate the people of israel, the people of the united arab inroads and the people of the kingdom of bahrain, god bless you all, this is an incredible day for the world, a really wonderful and beautiful occasion, i want to thank all of the members of congress for being here, senators, congressmen, congresswomen, we appreciate it so much, everybody wanted to be here. Its a very important day for the world, its a very important day for peace. Before the parties signed the accords, i want to ask Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu followed by the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates and the foreign minister by rain. Thank you very much, the great honor. Caugh[applause] my dear friend President Trump, first lady melania trump, thank you for hosting me, my wife sarah and our entire delegation in this historic day. I want to recognize Vice President pence, secretary pompeo, National Security advisor obrien and other cabinet members, Jared Kushner, abby berkowitz, ambassador freedman and other members of the president s able peace team, sounders, members of congress, israeli ambassador and by rainy counterparts as well as all the dignitaries gathered here on the sunny day, i want to express my gratitude for all the israelis who have worked for years and sometimes less sunny clients to bring this day and i think each and every one of you. Thank you. [applause] ladies and gentlemen, mr. President , this day is a pivoted of history, it holds a new dawn of peace. For thousands of years the jewish people have. For peace, for decades the jewish state has. For peace and this is why today we are filled with such profound gratitude, i am grateful to you President Trump for your decisive leadership, youve unequivocally stood by israel side, you have boldly confronted the tyrants of tehran, you proposed a realistic vision for peace between israel and the palestinians. And you have successfully brokered the historic piece that we are signing today a piece that has brought support in israel and america, and the middle east, indeed in the entire world. [applause] i am grateful to crown Prince Mohammed of the United Arab Emirates into you foreign minister. I think you both for your wide leadership, and for working with the United States and israel to expand the circle of peace. , i am grateful to King Mohammed and foreign minister Sheikh Abdullah bin zayed for joining us in bringing hope to all the children of abraham. [applause] to all of israels friends in the middle east, those who are with us today and those who will join us tomorrow, i say. [speaking in foreign language] piece onto the. [applause] and you have heard from the president that he has already lining up more and more countries, this is unimaginable a few years ago but with resolve, determination, a fresh look at the way peace is done, this is being achieved, thank you, mr. President. [applause] ladies and gentlemen, the people of israel will know the price of war. I know the price of war. I was wounded in battle. A fellow shoulder, a very close friend of mine died in my arms, my brother lost his life while leading his soldiers to rescue hostages held by terrorist. My parents grief over the loss of my brother was unrelieved until their dying day. And over the years, what ive come to console the families of israels Fallen Soldiers and victims of terror, ive seen that same grief countless times, this is why i am so deeply moved to be here today, for those who bear the wounds of war, cherish the blessings of peace. [applause] and the blessings of the piece we make today will be in enormous. First, because this piece will eventually expand to include other arab states and ultimately it can end the arab israeli conflict once and for all. [applause] second, because the great economic benefits of our partnership will be felt throughout our region and they will reach every one of our citizens and third, because this is not only a piece between leaders, it is a piece between peoplpeoples, israelis, iraqis d bahrainis are already embracing one another. We are eager to invest in the future a partnership, prosperity and peace. We have already begun to cooperate on combating corona and i am sure together we can find solutions to many of the problems that afflict our region and beyond. So despite the many challenges and hardships that we all face, despite all that, let us pause for a moment to appreciate this remarkable day. Let us rise above any political divide, let us put all cynicism aside, let us feel on this day the polls of history, so long after the pandemic is gone, the piece we make today will endure. Ladies and gentlemen, i have devoted my life to securing israels place among the nations to ensure the future of the one and only jewish state. To accomplish that goal i worked to make israel strong, very strong, for history has taught us that strength bring security, strengths brings allies and ultimately, this is something President Trump has said again and again, ultimately strength brings peace. [applause] king david expressed this basic truth thousands of years ago and our eternal capital of jerusalem, his prayer, immortalized in the book of psalms in the bible echoes from our glorious past and guides us toward a brilliant future. [speaking in foreign language] may god give strength to his people, may god bless his people with peace. Mr. President , distinguished guests, this week is the jewish new year and what a blessing we bring to the new year, blessing of friendship, a blessing of hope and a blessing of peace. Thank you. [applause] [applause] ladies and gentlemen your finest, the minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates. [applause] mr. President , mr. Prime minister and my friend, distinguished guest. [speaking in foreign language] let me start by conveying the best regards of the ua people. Mr. President , and everyone gathered here today. I will continue my speech in arabic and im sure they will be translation to that. [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language] neil this is the foreign minister of the United Arab Emirates and we were hoping for an english translator to speak or to translate a message that is coming in arabic if that becomes available, we will pass that along but in the meantime i am here with john hann of the former National Security advisor to the former Vice President cheney, also the editorinchief of the hill, bob we always talk about backdrops like this, they are very profound and nothing to top the imagery and pageantry of the white house let alone the white house but a piece signing, recognizing and normalize relation between countries that have technically at war have been at odds to put it mildly so an historic event, how does it translate do you think . I do think it is a big deal, many president s have been trying to get a big deal in the middle east and here is a divide and conquer, the president mentions there will be other countries and other arab states of follow suit. President trump right now may be losing in the polls buddies winning the visuals, these visuals are very strong and this is just the beginning because there will be other press conference, doesnt change a lot of votes, i do not think so but is it a positive thing, these things are months in the making, its also a big win for Jared Kushner who took a lot of criticism that he cannot do this job and he was a key player in all of this. Neil i was thinking of that kushner book, and i should say particular Jared Kushner in the molmold he has played behindthescenes and very much in front of the scenes and the tension it caused with the number of secretaries of state, i want to raise that with you but right now lets go to the uae foreign minister english interpretation is being made available. Lets listen in. [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language] your excellency Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Prime Minister of the state of israel, thank you for choosing these and for the annexation of palestinian territories, a position that reinforces our shared will to achieve a Better Future for generations to come. [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language] [speaking in foreign language] ladies and gentlemen we are witnessing today a new trend that will create a better path for the middle east, this peace accord which is a historic achievement for the United States of america, the state of israel in the united arab inroads will continue to have a positive impact as we believe that it will be reflected on the entire region, every option other than piece will signify destruction, poverty and human suffering, this is beginning to take shape as we meet today for the future of the region full of Youthful Energy is not a slogan that we raise for political gain as everyone looks forward to creating a more stable prosperous and secure future. [applause] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] at a time when science is prevailing, the youth is looking forward to taking part in this great humanitarian movement, we are pleased that the united arab inroads will be part of the momentum toward stability and the growth of Human Potential and civilized approach that opens wide the doors of opportunity for those who will look forward towards peace, prosperity in the future, our Society Today will set the foundation of modern Human Development such as infrastructure, solid economy and Scientific Achievement that will enable them to advance the future of the middle east. [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] the United Arab Emirates believes the role of the United States and the middle east is positive in this believe is evident by the accord we are signing today at the white house for which you have taken the lead. We will remain a beacon in Human History for all peaceloving people around the world and as for us in the United Arab Emirates, this accord will enable us to continue to stand by the Palestinian People and realize their hopes when an independent state is stable and a prosperous region, this accord builds on previous Peace Agreement signed by arab nations with the state of israel, the aim of all the treaties is to work toward stability and sustainable development. [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] in this difficult chair when the world is suffering from the repercussions of the covid19 pandemic, my country United Arab Emirates has reinforced its humanitarian commitment established by our nations Founding Fathers who told us that standing with others regardless of the religious or ethnic affiliation is a humanitarian duty and affirm principle. [speaking in native tongue] [applause] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] during this difficult time United Arab Emirates my country was able to launch a probe to mars, the hope probe and deeds represents hope that our region is capable of advancement and progress, of governments and people embrace science, after the United Arab Emirates sent astronauts last year as the first arab not to reach the International Space station and launch a Peaceful Nuclear power plant, this accord opened up prospects for a comprehensive peace in the region. [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] [speaking in native tongue] and q mr. President. Ladies and gentlemen in shaping the future requires knowledge, the advancement of nations requires certainty and persistence, we have come today to tell the world that this is our approach and that peace is our guiding principle in those who begin in the right way will go with achievements with the grace of god. Thank you. [applause] ladies and gentlemen the minister of the Foreign Affairs of the kingdom of bahrain. [applause] mr. President , the first lady, Prime Minister, your highness, ladies and gentlemen, good afternoon. Today is a truly historic occasion, a moment of hope and opportunity for all the people of the middle east. And in particular for the millions in our younger generations. The declaration supporting peace between the kingdom of bahrain in the state of israel is historic on the road to genuine and lasting peace, security and prosperity across the region, and for all who live there, the goddess of religion, ethnicity or ideology. [applause] for too long, the middle east has been set back by conflict and mistrust. Causing untold destruction and the potential generations of our best and brightest young people. Now, i am convinced we have the opportunity to change that. Todays declaration was made possible by the vision, courage and commitment of Sheikh Abdullah bin zayed who supported by. For the state of israel and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, we welcome and appreciate the steps from you and your government. Recognizing the enduring peace and security is only possible through a genuine engagement that protects the rights of countries and people in the region. [applause] in particular, i want to express my deep appreciation to president donald trump. [applause] and his administration, mr. President your statesmanship and tireless efforts have brought us here today with peace. [applause] and secretary pompeo, Senior Advisor Jared Kushner and special representative berkowitz and many others who have carried out their mandates with dedication and skill. Ladies and gentlemen, todays agreement is an important step and now income now on us to work urgently and actively to bring about lasting peace and security and our people deserve. A just comprehensive and endearing two state solution to the palestinian israeli conflict will be the foundation of such peace. We have shown today. They will each sign four copies, one in english, one in hebrew into an arabic. [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [inaudible conversations] [applause] [applause] [applause] [applause] [applause]. Neil you have been watching history in the making, we become very jaded in the political times critically weeks for of u. S. President ial election but the significance of possible parties signing onto a normalizing relations but doing business with one another. But whether youre on the right or left of this, its a historic agreement that could pave the way for other countries, we dont know the details of the separate deals between the United Arab Emirates and bahrain with regards to israel, we know they will dramatically up business dealings with one another in the case of bahrain is been going on for some time, this puts a stamp on that relationship but it is important to keep in mind with the backdrop of the white house and from the south portico where the president of the United States can claim as bill clinton had as israeli Prime Minister back then, jimmy carter of course, and back in the 70s these are historic nature and anger and hostility between these people that go back thousands of years if you think about it. Being chipped away bit by bit, there is a lot of backandforth on this whether this is heralded by her own Energy Independence putting arab countries rich in oil and leverage on the defense that in the new World Economic environment they had to make a deal to move forward and this is a way of doing it. We should also point out in the United Arab Emirates its not about being red or blue that is oil kingdom that is become for all religions in all business interests, virtually every country on earth deals with the uae to a lesser extent bahrain because money knows no boundaries, opportunity knows no boundaries and this is a step in that direction, the president in a meeting earlier that theres other countries that could be coming forth, we do not know. Saudi arabia for example has in enormous business ties with the israeli kingdom, formal peace accord has ever been signed between the two although they do business with one another, much the same with kuwait, the heavy hitters come through or whether jordan could be nextdoor host of never players that want to continue to do business with israel, we shall see. But again, the Trump Administration and for those who want to see things calm down in the middle east, i hope it brings we seen accord signed in the past and new tensions rise over the years, that is pretty much the same anywhere on this very fractured planet, i should stress back with john haner the former advisor, policy advisor of Foreign Affairs who cheney the former Vice President and bob cusick the editor on the hill. You touched on the very theme taking politics aside, these are big events whether they help or hurt the president or help or hurt democrats, it is good to see once boring or at least agitated parties, not agitating anymore, not pinking of morning anymore. Peace is a good thing no matter what you administration brokers it, this is something President Trump has been president ial and other times not so much, this type of event is very president ial and it does help them, this is something that is a good thing especially when the world is in crisis. Neil you know, we know its going on in this country and the election going on with the country and we know the ongoing covid19 virus still grips the world and they relock down things in israel as a result in a lot of those ahead, they were angry about that on israel and that was something he alluded to in his remarks, i am curious where you see all of this going in a world of political and otherwise the fact that we can broker a possible peace in expanded relations between countries that once did not have it, its gotta be a net yet go good. For the United States camp, this is fantastic, is a huge win for the United States, it is something that no other great power around the world whether russia or china could have gotten done only because of our history in that region, the trust and confidence in these parties, the way weve been engaged for decades trying to make peace, they trust us and they were willing to come forward, not without some risk to some of the arab parties who have spent so many decades vilifying israel now to come forward until the population were going to have full on economic military relations with israel, thats a major move, as you said all eyes really do turn to saudi arabia, the emirates and bahrain is important as they are are fairly small states, saudi arabia is in fact the most important arab state, huge significance, not only economically in terms of the World Economy and the oil power but religiously as well as the birthplace of islam and the host of the two holy mosques, all eyes of the islamic world are trained on this. In the relationships of israel, it will be transformative in the middle east and the only power left outside looking in for whom this is bad, we all know its the Islamic Republic of iran and the Islamic Radical terrorist that the United States has been at war with since 9 11. Neil thats a very good point, bob i was thinking about the environment in which this is happening, oil prices and Energy Prices have collapsed and obviously the covid19 world it is not a shocker and seem to be going back a little bit but a lot more oil around because what weve been doing in this country with fracking and the rest that is made is the Worlds Largest producer of oil, who wouldve thought about that during the time jimmy carter was going back between israel in the late 70s, im wondering if the backdrop of Energy Independence in the United States and the fact that opec in general are watching oil and dont have the same influence or impact or threat that they used to be able to employ, what do you think. I think its a good point and certainly they dont have the power they used to and certainly this country has been Energy Resolution that is change the politics globally but also another thing has changed, honestly have to look at the relationships, President Trump talks about relationships of foreign leaders and some dictators, his relationship with Benjamin Netanyahu is very strong and the relationship between president obama and Benjamin Netanyahu was not very strong. The energy is a big component but you have to have trust and it was very little trust between Benjamin Netanyahu and obama. Neil you know, john hannah lets incentivize the other countries, the score a deal with the president who might not be reelected or do they see past that and see that he will be or do strike while the iron is hot and leave the politics out and see what happens but right now this is a good moment, good time, good opportunity, we will take it. I think there is some of that, came together around the threat of israeli annexation of the palestinian territory early in the summer that could kill the two state solution, the emirates said that will be a disaster for the region, that will only cause more instability in the region and they said President Trump Jared Kushner, we have a better deal for you, if you can hold off and freeze annexation, we are prepared to go forward with a full peace treaty for israel that will be a huge boom to the region and great for israel and great for you President Trump as well as for the United States. I think the iron was hot, now its time to strike but at the same time they know they build with the United States and it President Trump stays he will love the emirates involving even more after this and it President Trump is not reelected in joe biden comes in, then the democrats have seen that the emirates and bahrain are prepared to make peace and good decisions and do good things for the United States and holds them in Good Standing with anything that comes after november 3. Neil gentlemen i want to thank you both as well as your patience with this historic signing this threeway accord to recognize all the countries in the future of tighter cooperation on a variety of funds. Thank you very, very much, both of these fine gentlemen were reminding us that sometimes peace goes down with some opposition and some anger and right now were getting reports for rocket fire that hit southern israel, the leaders seem to intimate that and the remarks that it will be easy it will be bumpy and right now potentially violent. But i been reading a lot of press that these are low hanging fruit getting likes of the rain and the United Arab Emirates to recognize israel and doing business with israel, they have been low hanging fruit for a while and no one has take them off, it is begun, its a big deal, pieces good. Neil there has been other news going on today of course we have the hurricane in the gulf and the busy political scene that joe biden the first president ial nominee going to florida where he seems to be losing hispanic support and of course we got big deals on wall street, this is one of the biggest weeks that weve got going on wall street in the Public Offerings in ipos but the one thats getting a good deal of talk is how microsoft suddenly became odd man out in the request for tiktok and oracle slipped into become the premier player, the guy was way ahead of that and anyone else that i know, Charlie Gasparino on where this stands right now. What happened to microsoft here. They want to buy the whole thing in and control of it and quite frankly the Chinese Government got involved at the end in tiktok is owned by bytedance a Chinese Company and they said no way, they passed those trade restrictions, and outright purchase where they were control the app in a major way in their cloud was off the table, what we have is oracle coming in and proposing something radical, different, they think they can get it through, we understand from our sources at oracle that this announcement of getting the u. S. Government approval could occur later today, watch possibly after the bell or early tomorrow, they are increasingly confident that it will get approved, its not a done deal until its a done deal because this is a weird structure and theres people in the Trump Administration that are not crazy, secretary mnuchin wants to get the deal done, he has young kids and maybe they do not want to miss tiktok and a chance of it getting bad which will go into effect around monday, here is to stay to play, bytedance the Parent Company is currently negotiating with the council of Foreign Investment in the u. S. , thats the Treasury Department to address the National Security concerns and they think they will get it done today or tomorrow, their feeling confident, the one thing the chinese to own this thing, oracle and a group of investors will be line sitting the act of the chinese, thats where this gets really weird and if you listen to President Trump statements, you need a u. S. Company to buy it and to control it, this does not fit the bill but they think they may have a structure more like a jv not an outright purchase, i dont know if theres a sales price that can get through the administration, secretaries of state mnuchin wanted, he simply said listen this structure made the work and we dont have to annoy 12yearold who will annoy their parents and vote against trump in the election, others like mike pompeo says this does not address the National Security concerns from what i understand. We will have to see but oracle feels increasingly confident and we could see a deal announced sometime late today or early tomorrow morning, it will be a big Thing International nightmare will be over. Back to you. Neil i dont know you pointed out that china would still maintain control and of course we dont trust the chinese when it comes to spying on u. S. Consumers whether it be 12 or older, has this been addressed to . I dont see how, they will say it has been, they will control an entity that will essentially license the app from the chinese which they still control and that entity will have their data secured in a controlled by oracle, i dont understand what is so different between that and what Tiktok Tiktok uses googles cloud theoretically its secure, the chinese are not picking stuff out of it, this thing is a weird deal, it is not what the president said he wanted but they feel confident, you should point out that oracle has Strong Political ties to the administration, larry elson is a bigtime trump supporter into investors and bytedance, sequoia and the other major investor, generally to run by big ten republicans. There you go. Larry ellison had a time fundraiser raised a lot of money. Thank you very much my friend, the dow was up about 100 points, we will have more after this.
