I dont think that will mean videos or that important to society compared to Microsoft Software which is important to society and business. This is a proxy for the Technology Cold war we are in. We will be in a Technology Cold war with china for decades. Peter well, the sound that you heard last night was tiktokers breathing sigh of relief, badly choreographed one but my reaction is a little bit of surprise, i kind of thought microsoft had this in the bag the way they were posturing about it and they seemed like the big loser here. Campaigning openly to be the chosen one here and it doesnt look like any kind of deal maker in the wake of this, but hats off to oracle, they seem like theyve gotten a deal. This isnt outright sale, basically Technology Partner of tiktok in the United States and sort of remains to be seen whether thats enough because the the condition put by the Trump Administration is some outright sale. We will see how it goes. Maria i guess my question would be what does this mean in terms to have data and user information at oracle, how many people at tiktok would go work for oracle because the Chinese Communist party has been strategic to get data transfer, we have seen string of indictments, has been identify today work with them transfer data. Is that going to be the case here . How many tiktok workers would work with oracle . Yeah, its a really good question, so i think youre getting at the heart of oracle, may be the chosen one here. Oracle has a very good reputation in terms of knowing how to do the logistics and securing data and its going to be a probably very complicated relationship that they set up with tiktok and its u. S. Operations so that there are some more church and state sort of separations on what through the bite Dance Network or, you know, what china has essentially has access to and what remains in the u. S. Whats really a big factor here is Data Sovereignty and, you know, where the data on u. S. Users actually resides and generally that will need to be in the u. S. And that needs to be in maria dagen. Dagen is this going to even pass i raise the issue is this going raise muster, the oracle deal with the white house and the committee on Foreign Investment in the u. S. It still has to be reviewed and maybe this isnt a loss for microsoft, maybe its a win for microsoft because it doesnt want to get in bed with the Chinese Communist party in a way that it still remains to be seen what is in this deal, this partnership for oracle. Maybe this just kicks the can down the road and after the election this gets revisited in a way that that oracle winds up with egg on its face. Yeah, its possible. Its not just the u. S. Government but also the Chinese Government so they in august shortly after the the deadline was imposed for the sale came out and said that they would impose some new laws to make sure that datasharing companies essentially couldnt give away the golden goose and in the case of tiktok that would be algorithm. Its the algorithm that makes sure the that recommends all of the videos that basically ensures people to keep scrolling in the app which a lot of people see as some of the key value in the app. Seems like they will not have access to that algorithm and probably more interested in the user data as you mentioned on tiktoks users. Oracle in recent years has ramped up marketing cloud efforts and i will definitely see a possibility that they will use user data to enhance those, that part of their business while at the same time letting them scale up their cloud. Their Cloud Business is rapidly rising but not on par with amazon and microsoft which are number 1 and 2. Maria its amazing thousand Chinese Communist party is so front and center in all of this. He said this on sunday morning futures. Watch this. How is it possible that this company in michigan was able to get acquired by a company that is Chinese Military related . The question we all need to ask joe biden is when he took hunter biden over on air force 2, did he know hunter was going to come back with pallots of cash . Maria gordon, what about that . This is a company tied to the Chinese Military, pla, and actually it was able to acquire a company in michigan. This is more of the same that we have been seeing, gordon. What would a biden win for the u. S. China relations . Gordon we have to be deeply concerned because the 2015 acquisition of this michigan Automotive Company was just unacceptable and it was, i think, indefensible. They were selling it to a militarylinked company in china. This company had valuable technology and hunter biden as well as i guess the nephew of the secretary of state kerry were involved in this. This just reeks and i think that acquisition should be reversed by the Trump Administration. Whatever power it has, it needs to do that to show china that we are not going to allow corruption to permit acquisition of u. S. Companies. Maria yeah, you really havent heard a lot of this on the left, the president s critics, but ted cruz was among those yesterday warning about the threat from china on sunday morning futures. On china in terms of where we are are, they would be a very different approach depending on who wins this election in terms of our longterm relationship with china, yes . Senator absolutely. China is i believe the single geo political threat facing the United States nor the next century. Maria what would the u. S. Be able to do to push back on that threat, gordon . Gordon well, you know, we need to sever investment trade relations because we are invigorating a hostile regime. China declared a quote, unquote peoples war on the u. S. Last may, may of 2019, and that shows the hostility of the chinese regime to us. You know, we have been ignoring what beijing has been saying and every time we do that americans pay for it. So at this time i think the u. S. Needs to take extraordinary measures to defend american sovereignty. Maria and real quick before you go, gordon, the ant group which is a unit of alibaba is going to be going public. Whats your thought of ant group, formerly known as ant Financial Services, this company with 1. 2 billion users, the vast majority in mainland china, a successful deal, i guess, the Chinese Communist party wants a successful deal to show the world that everything is working fine in hong kong. Its going to be going public in hong kong very soon this week. Gordon yeah, this is going to be the Worlds Largest ipo in all probability and, you know, we have to remember that a lot of u. S. Investment banks have been involved and they will be selling shares to the american public. Im not so sure thats a good idea for a number of reasons. Remembers ant has been involved in actions, trying to buy up u. S. Companies, money gram. We should not be allowing u. S. Investment banks on this deal. If we can use that and use that information, but then use our artistic touch, i think that we can definitely be able to do a better job for our patients and technically do more technically difficult procedures without robots an help of Artificial Intelligence. Maria so the more difficult the prejudice the need for what, a steady hand or what does the Technology Bring that a human cant do . Doctor right, its both things, both cases. Dagen doctor, dont you need to convince patients that this is a supplement to the work that human doctors do . When you Start Talking about robots particularly operating on your face and other parts of your body you have a big hurdle to overcome, do you not . Doctor huge hurdle. Thats the other thing. There are 3 things that are required, if we are going start to have robots come in, theres a human interface, to be able to do that, particularly what i do is esthetic plastic surgery, you need the artistic sense and you need to be able to individualize and you also need the technical feel. The doctor needs the feel the tissue in front of them and the third thing that the computers sometimes dont have is good taste and for what i do its so important. We are not quite there. Maybe a little bit of hype but we definitely we are going to be seeing more of this in the near future. Maria so, do you use any ai based algorithms because there are Companies Reportedly using aibased algorithms to streamline even the botox process. Is this something that you would consider for botox . I would consider using it as a tool, but right now for me everything that i do is based on artistic sense, understand what the patients wants and moving ahead with their desires and also my experience being an injector so i rely on myself. I definitely can see these coming in the future particularly as we see that these computers an algorithms and the robots are getting more are Getting Better and better. We will see it in anesthesia and surgery and just like we are seeing cars drive and safety and algorithms to have uber cars that are selfdriving cars, they are going to be much more safe than drivers and human error that comes with drivers, that also happens in the or with surgeons that are just humans and at that point we will see that computers and robots can do a better job than actually the surgeons for our only humans. First up, the teamup of the morning, tiktok chooses oracle as the new u. S. Partner, we are standing by on the numbers, michael. Whats your take initially when you see oracle being able to acquire the u. S. Operations of tiktok . Well, you know, it doesnt seem to be an acquisition deal. Its really interesting to see how this is going to play out. Were waiting on a lot of details. They will be a Technology Partner. I would guess that means that oracle is going to be the safeguard for tiktoks data that theyre taking from everyones phone. Its been reported that tiktok takes on average 15 times more data than the average app, social Media Company when they go into your phone. This data is going directly to the Chinese Communist party. The chai northeast communist party being the most vile regime on the planet, maybe in history. So im skeptical. I think the Trump Administration should put the kibosh on the entire thing and get rid of it. I think what india did is the right way to go. Youni dont think you should gi i think its time to move on from tiktok in the u. S. Maria well, the other apps from china have been banned in the us, youre right. Other major mergers this morning as well, nvidia will acquire arm holdings from softbanks vision fund, thats for 40 billion. Gil yesterdaGilead Sciences speg 20 million on immunomedics. What about all the deals happening on this monday . Does this indicate anything different to you in terms of Business Today . You know, well, the nvidia arm deal has a lot to do with softbank. Softbank needs money, they need liquidity, they need out of this, okay. Thats another deal that is going to face intense regulatory scrutiny, not only from the u. S. But also the u. K. , the eu, and china. Id be shocked if this deal gets done because of the massive conflicts of interest there. You now have a competitor getting a lookthrough into the major technological secrets of everyone in their industry. I dont know how that deal will get done. Its good to see Big Drug Company deals. I think thats a healthy sign of Capital Markets that the economy is going. These major mega deals typically dont happen in the middle of a recession. That gilead deal is good news. Im questioning whether or not the oracle, tiktok deal will get done or the nvidia, arm deal will get done, a lot of regulatory scrutiny on the other side. Francesother. Maria weve been looking at a selloff in stocks, led by Technology Stocks for the last two weeks, more so in the last couple months on tech. Goldman sachs and Deutsche Bank indicating it could be the end of the selling but also theyre mentioning novembers election is certainly a key source of uncertainty. Troy, what are you expecting for markets through the end of the year and what about the comment from Deutsche Bank and Goldman Sachs that the selloff could be coming to an end. Look, weve had a healthy correction so far. The question from here is does it get meaningfully worse. The 5 50 day moving average, the had been a tremendous amount of liquidity injected in markets which has driven the rally. The key point we make to people is fed Balance Sheet has stopped expanding the last three months and money supply growth has stopped expanding as well, combine that with rich valuations, that doesnt mean were going to have an egregious correction but it means much more twoway volatility and much less upside until we get clarity on fiscal, further Balance Sheet expansion and also on the election. Unlike the past three months where its been mainly a oneway tradeup, we expect a lot of chop into the election. Maria thats the point. Goldman sachs is saying that the selloff is coming to an end. Do you think that the selling of Technology Stocks is coming to an end or do you think theres more for sale here . Yeah, we think theres still a little more froth that needs to get xed out of the system, some of the options froth has gone out. Broadly, when you think about where multiples are and how far weve gone and the price action we had in august and september, seems to us theres 3 to 5 more to go in the nasdaq and 2 to 3 more in the s p. We woul would be very cautious o putting money to work in equities at these rich valuations right now. Maria let me ask about a potential Coronavirus Vaccine, astrazeneca resuming its vaccine trials in the u. K. After a pause over safety concerns. Pfizer says it will know whether its vaccine works by the end of next month. How do you see a potential vaccine affecting markets . Well, when we look at a vaccine, theres really two factors we have to keep in mind. One is trust and the other is production. Weve seen since the pandemic started that trust in medical officials has really taken a serious hit. A recent poll found that just 21 of voters would be willing to get vaccinated immediately if a free vaccine were made available and twothirds of voters think that any vaccine brought to market this year will have been too rushed to be safe. Now, if were looking at the production side, because thats the other side, are people willing and then how much can we make. Well, just this morning the ceo of the Serum Institute of end i, the Worlds Largest vaccine manufacturer, which partnered with astrazeneca and novavax, the ceo said it will take until the end of 2024, so four years from now, to produce enough vaccines to cover everyone. Were not out of the woods. By the way, this morning the w. H. O. Reported that yesterday was the largest one day increase in coronavirus cases since this whole nightmare began. Maria oh, my god. All right. We know were not out of it, thats for sure. Let me pass on one story that a blog is reporting this morning on ubs and Credit Suisse. You may have a feeling about this because of the consolidation weve seen in Financial Services. Apparently this blog is reporting that the chairman of ubs, axel weber, a frequent guest on this program and the chairman of Credit Suisse are exploring a potential merger to create one of europes largest banks, thi. Unidentified people are telling them this story. This project is nicknamed signal, driven by ubs axel weber who is working on a deal with Credit Suisse. An agreement could happen by early next year according to this report. Look, on the surface this makes a lot of sense. Credit suisse heavy in sales and trading, investment trading, where ubs is primarily investment asset and Wealth Management worldwide. As we know with global rates near zero, margins are squeezed from a Balance Sheet perspective. So this could make that type of deal makes sense for those two banks to get together very complementary. So i would believe it. You do see that it does create some consolidation concerns among the swiss but thats a swiss regulatory problem and i think the swiss have a long tradition of being pragmatic so regulatory hurdles may be less than some of the other of deals were talking about. New fox news polls show the National Race is tightening, joe biden holding 5 point lead over President Trump. Groups favoring biden include women, suburbanites according to the polls. On the issues, biden is more trusted on law and order, immigration and coronavirus. The area where voters trust President Trump the most is the economy. Lee carter, your reaction to these polls . Lee i think what were seeing right now is the polls are pretty much staying steady. I think most people have decided what theyre going to do. We know theres about 8 of voters who are still undecided and thats really where the battle is going to be won. So were seeing little fluctuations in the numbers, not big ones. Youre seeing variations within 1 or 2 points, within the margin of error. Trump supporters dug in and said were supporting trump, biden supporters who are supporting biden. A lot of folks are on the sidelines. Up to 8 makes a big deal. On a lot of the states, when you look at you how trump won, it was 0. 7 , 1. 2 of the votes in the state. Thats a lot of folks that need to make their decisions. They want to hear more about what the candidates are going to do for them. Theyre tired of the attacks. And trump and biden are spending a lot of time on the attacks and not defining what their message is going to be. I think that the poll on the economy is very, very important of. People who think that trump will do better on the economy, thats at the par heart of what people think. When joe biden was tested, his campaign speech, when he talks about shutting down the economy, doing whatever it takes to get through covid, thats when people turn off. People want to hear the economy is going to be open, their jobs are okay and their financial future is going to be okay. They dont want to hear about a shutdown. Joe biden has a big hurdle on the economy to overcome. Maria all really good points. Dagen, the idea that biden is leading in law and order baffles me a bit. Its 49 to 47. But this is what this poll says. Dagen indeed. And in that fox news poll when people were asked to better describe, what better describes the unrest in new york, kenosha and portland, 48 said riots, 40 said protests. So theirin lies an opportunity for President Trump to gain support ove on the issue of lawd order. Lee carter talked about this, that law and order doesnt speak to the broader message of safety and you can couple like financial safety and security and then also in terms of your actual wellbeing with the virus and with the issue of unrest in the streets. Those all kind of go together here. One other thing ill point out. In terms of voters are most concerned about unemployment, more concerned about unemployment than the coronavirus. And again, therein lies an opportunity for the Trump Campaign. That almost nine out of 10 voters are concerned about unemployment, eight out of 10 in coronavirus. President trump also picking up ground with latino voters. 41 support President Trump, 57 for joe biden. But you are seeing momentum in the Trump Campaign among groups of voters like that. Maria yeah. Especially after that outreach at the Republican National convention, the rnc really did outreach to many other groups. Were going to take a break. Devin nunes spoke to me on sunday morning futures about this that the mueller team wiped their phones completely clean and he is stressing for the need for oversight. We learned that more than a dozen government issued phones used by muellers team during the russia probe were wiped clean. Isnt this obstruction of justice . Is that a federal crime, punishable by up to 20 years . Your reaction to this. This is when the love birds Text Messages were discovered. So clearly after that, everybody on the mueller team went and wiped their phone. So the question here is, is was there an investigation, because if there was, that could be obstruction of justice. I think regardless of that, this is destruction of federal records. We cannot have a Justice System, whether its at the federal level or the state level or local level, where records are being destroyed, maria. Because thats how we have a fair and equal Justice System here that if theres misconduct of any kind, that you can go back and look at what the prosecutors were doing. And look, this is very relevant. If i was in general flynns shoes right now, id be furious and i think that as all americans should be upset about this. It doesnt happen by accident, maria, because you have to go through a couple of steps in order to accomplish this, whether youre doing it through apple or whatever source of hardware you have, whether youre doing it on your own. So if this was done to governmentissued iphones or governmentissued mobile phones, this violates the destruction of federal records act, which is a crime. This is the crime for which Hillary Clinton should have been indicted when her server was wiped clean. Its not obstruction of justice, but its still a criminal offense and the republicans in the senate, senator Lindsey Graham and in the house, congressman devin nunes, are right to call for an investigation. A criminal investigation. Now, were not talking about their personal iphones, mobile phones. If they use their personal mobile phones to conducted raill government. Mobile phones with software owned by the federal government and with information in that software that is the property of the federal government. That is a felony. Maria i just dont understand how these perpetrators continue just getting off, judge. You know, i did an interview, my last interview with the president for my upcoming book, the book will be out in october, the cost, trump, china, and the american revival, Everybody Knows the book is coming out but for that book i interviewed President Trump and he said to me, maria, one thing that i learned is there are people in government that are just protected. Theyre just protected. And thats the way it is. I mean, and i go more into that in the book about who is protected but it certainly feels like that is true in this case. Hillary clinton destroying 30,000 emails after they were found on Anthony Weiners laptop, now this, wiping up to 30 government issued phones clean so people would not see the conversation taking place as they were investigating trump and general michael flynn, judge. Look, nobody likes to see their conversations surveilled in the future and being forced to justify them but thats the price you pay when you work for the federal government. The hardware that you use belongs to the federal government. The software you use belongs to the federal government. The information you put in there belongs to the federal government. These guys are prosecutors. In one respect, in one respect they were doing the very thing that they were looking at the president for, whether or not he interfered with any investigation. So this cant last. This needs to be investigated. This must be a lesson for everybody who works in government, that the tools that you use belong to the government and not to you. Governor walker, whats the takeaway here on these new fox news polls from your standpoint . Well, good morning, maria. Its close. Similar poll, the marquette poll just days before the 2016 election showed Hillary Clinton up by 6. Obviously the president carried the state, just barely. I think what it shows, the economy improves, the president s going to do better. The fed predicted that the Unemployment Rate wasnt going to fall below 9 until next year. I think when we saw the numbers from august, it was down to 8. 4 with the creation of almost 1. 4 mill he i dont know new jobs, thats a big deal and it makes the president s promise to help create 10 o 10 million new jobsr the next 10 months very doable going forward. Maria yes. So the economy is the number one issue for voters and right now they favor President Trump over joe biden. Is that why the president s sceptics, the president s critics, ed rendell, want this economy shut down even going into the election . They dont want to have normalization as a result of covid. I think the majority of people want the economy reined in a little bit do so for Public Health reasons. Well never have a full economy recovery until we get rid of this coronavirus. Until we get it under control. Then we can see a true resurgence. 8. 5 is still a staggering total for america. We have to get control of the virus first. Then we can get the economy roaring back. Maria theres a showdow showdn battleground states. This week, joe biden headed to delaware today, going to florida tomorrow. President trump rallying in nevada this weekend, headed to california later this morning. What do you think, governor rendell, about what we can expect from the swing states at the candidates visit battleground states. I think Governor Walker is right, i think it is tightening a little bit. All those people who want the president defeated should bear in mind that he always polls more poorly than he does on election day. I think there are people out there who dont want to admit to a stranger theyre voting for donald trump. That was a pa dearn in 16. We were ahead by you 3 or 4 points in pennsylvania and said a day or two before the election that i was worried that we could lose pennsylvania and we did. So this race is going to be tight, maria, go all the way down to the end. Maria yeah, i agree with you. What about florida . All this money Mike Bloomberg is committing. The former new york city mayor is donating 100 million to help joe biden in florida. This money is going to go toward tv and digital ads in the sunshine state. Governor walker, what do you make of this . This is a lot of money. Is this going to push joe biden over the edge in florida . It is a big deal and its a good reminder for all the president s grass roots supporters not only in florida but people sending 25, 50 bucks, theyre going to have to offset that. If bloomberg spent it nationwide, it wouldnt have nearly the impact that 10 100 million would have, just spending it in florida will definitely have an impact. The president has to carry that state. If you look at the map, it assumes that President Trump and mike pence carry florida and ohio and then you look at states like mine, pennsylvania and michigan, are key states but it really becomes difficult for any republican to help carry florida. Thats why joe biden a you few weeks ago after what happened in kenosha started to come out and campaign, he got out of delaware, he came to wisconsin, hes coming to other places now. I think they realize the polls were starting to shift, people reacted to the violence. They want reform. They dont want riots and i think youre going to see more of that hard campaigning with both the president and the former Vice President out there and were going to have to lay out a real contrast. Former Vice President biden said a few weeks back that if his advisors told him to, he would shut the economy down again, shut the nation down again come january. I think thats a stark contrast. People are seeing things get better. 8. 4 is still too high. We can get it up or get jobs up and unemployment down again. In states like mine and others where they have absentee ballots in the mail, in my case, in wisconsin, i as an eligible voter with a photo id i have to request that from the voting jurisdiction. Absentee ballots are different from blanket mailings. Republicans, people that support the president , should feel comfortable by voting by mail if its by an absentee ballot.
