He will also be giving a speech comparing his stance on illegal immigration and Border Security with the open border and amnesty policies of one joe biden. President trumps speech comes ahead of the beginning of the second night of the radical dems virtual convention. Former First Lady Michelle Obama headlined day one, and she gave a ripsnorting, divisive, prerecorded speech that included lies about President Trump throwing kids in cages. It was a lie that even the leftwing National Media couldnt defend. Theco Associated Press pointed t the cages the former first lady referred to were, in fact, border facilities, quote, built during the Obama Biden Administration to house children at the border, end quote. And President Trump, as you might suspect, didnt shy from his criticism of Michelle Obama either. Hereser what he had to say in e whitewh house today during that centennial celebration of the womens right to vote. She should have made the speech live, which she didnt do, she taped it. And it was taped a long time ago because she had the wrong deaths, she didnt even mention the Vice President ial candidate in the speech. She gets these fawning reviews. If you gave a real review, it wouldnt be so fawning. I thought it was a very divisive speech and, frankly, i wouldnt even be here if it werent for barack w obama. I wouldnt w be in the white hoe except for barack obama because they did a bad job, biden and obama. Andhe they did a good job, i wouldnt be here. This is quite a mess, and the left, the radical dems are trying to make as much of it as they can. Its really quite something. Your thoughts about all thats unfolding including hearings in the house, the senate and Mitch Mcconnell apparently doesnt run the senate number, at least not in the interest of either the Republican Party or the president of the United States. Well, theres nothing the democrats wont politicize. First the pandemic, you theyre trying the mail offices. I mean, think about it, you listen to the Convention Last night, they have no message for america. So they rely on misinformation and mailbox myths. You have now the postmaster whos actually run businesses successfully, made them efficient, and the democrats are complaining about things that happened during the obama administration. So the postmaster literally said decisions that he did not make, hes making sure theyre stopped between now and the election. There is more than enough money in the post office to run it throughout the election. But youve got nancy pelosi is, who wont focus on the american economy, so youve got President Trump having to take it into his own hands to care for the people who are unemployed, to make sure our businesses stay open. But nancy will not even have a vote. She wants to politicize it right before the Republican Convention. Lou well, its politicized. It is clear that she is interested in only one thing, and that is winning the election. And one can understand the motivation, but the other is absolute disregard for millions of people in this country who are dependent upon that stimulus and to simply defer it is a disaster for the radical dems. Think of every time this president has worked to help the American Public after china had lied to the world. Remember in the first bill that he worked for the cares act. Pelosi held that up for more than a week for funding for the kennedy center. Or when that Small Business program, ppp, was working so successfully that it needed more money . She stood in front of her refrigerator and said no to all the Small Business employees. Now shes doing the exact same thing to everybody whos unemployed. What about Liability Protection for the schools or financial for the schools . Shes holding it up but calling all congress back to work on something that doesnt need to happen. The post office has more than enough money to carry everything out, and the postmaster said therell be no changes. What is going to be the response . Because there are millions of people out there right now concerned about their health and the responsibility of corporate employers. Well, listen, haas year i put into the public scores of pages of documents showing that the Justice Department,ho a guy namd david loffman, negotiated with one of assanges lawyers, and assange had agreed and was willing to take a deal where he would cooperate with authorities. This would dora two w things, ar questions about the leak of the russia documents, and he would agree not to release certain information or redact certain information on some cia Cyber Weapons that he ultimately released unredacted. It was an enormous missed opportunity, and the peoplepo wo killed it, get ready, james comey, the fbi director. The documents show he killed the deal. We missed an opportunity back in 2017 at the beginning of the Trump Administration to get the truth from assange and possibly to temper the release of some documents that caused Grave National security harm to the United States. Lou and so where is and the president , you can see him wrestling with this, because assange has been ap painted has been painted in the darkest of colors as a, as an evil and bad guy. But as with most absolutes, this one has some frayed edges and considerable gray around it. Your thoughts. Well, listen, the fbi and the Intelligence Community deal with bad guys all the time. If we need information, if we want the i truth, hes the sortf guy that we could go to, cut a deal and at least get some truth. Maybe theres a plea deal to be had, maybe theres an immunity deal to be had. So far there hasnt been the will of the Intelligence Community, fbi, the Justice Department to complete that deal. Theyey hate him. They publicly call him an enemy of the state, but the American People mayle benefit from findig ap answer to what really happened to the documents that wikileaks posted in 2016. Where did they get them . He knows. We should get that answer. Lou yes. Well, hess not accused of capitaled crimes, and the fact f the matter is that the british confined him for so long without any possibility of extrication. He has been shut down, he has been, for all practical purposes, a disappeared person the American Public. That is not an accident, it is not the way we conduct business country, or at least it once was not the way we conducted business. How do we make it right, and is President Trump the only one who can . Yeah, listen, the president , the fbi director, chris wray, the attorney general, bill barr, can go back and reinvigorate those conversations from march ofon 2017 where we came very cle to getting a deal with julian as sang. If james comey didnt get in the way ofy that, we would have probably gotten answers back then. The Justice Department attorney clearly showed interest in trying to get him interviewed and get information for him. It was a major loss for the u. S. When those conversations broke down thanks to james comey. Lou and assange in that threeyear period, his health has deteriorated, we understand significantly. And at various points, its been even described at life threatening. This does not seem to be a concern for the fbi and some intelligence agencies which should make it, i think, based on what we now know about the way those agencies have been led, a truth to all americans. Would you recommend the president pardon him in. Well, listen, im a reporter, i try to stickte to facts and nt opinion or recommendations. There are a lot of people who believe he should be pardoned, that he should be prosecuted. I dont agree with everything he did, sometimes choosing which documents to release instead of releasing them all. But he brought a lot of disclosures of things that we didnt know, and he was an Inconvenient Truth during the beginning of the russia investigation. Imagine if he merged and gave us his story in march 2017 what might have happened to the russia collusion story. Lou and now, you know, Edward Snowden is seeking a fair trial as his only condition presee dent to surrendering himself. Im going to ask you again for your opinion but, of course, based on facts. [laughter] yeah, listen, Edward Snowden compromised National Security by a large degree, and there are and republicans alike that agree on that. If youre going to pardon him or give him a deal, give him a fair trial, what does the United States get in return for that, and i dont know if snowdens put anything on the table that would make the u. S. Government want to deal with him right now. He was hiding in Vladimir Putins clutches. Hes not h a man that is right w considered a friend of the United States, and so i think you have to look carefully at that, the political repercussions of a pardon could be significant. But the president may know things i dont know, he probably does. But theres a split opinion on, as the president acknowledged, on Edward Snowden. No doubt about it. She said, quote, under the regime of xi the Chinese Communist party is an obstacle to chinas progress. I believe i am not the only one who wants to leave this party. More people wouldld like to withdraw or quit this party. Well, to help us better understand her thoughts and what is happening there, dr. Michael pillsbury, director of the center for chinese strategy at the Hudson Institute. Mike, this is remarkable, her speaking out just as everyone from real estate magnates to other professors are being arrested and to this point vanished within china. Has remarkable courage to speak out like this, does she not . She does, lou, and shes a very important person. We hope to host her at the Hudson Institute in washington d. C. She gave a long interview to the guardian where she made a number of very important points. One is that 70 of the communist party in china thats about 60 Million People want reforms, do not like the xi jinping dictatorship, do not like this president for life having the chinese constitution ignored. So she also talked about xi jinpings role in the coronavirus and how it got away from a him. So this is devastating, to have this kind of comment come from a real senior insider at the Central Committee party school. She sounds, frankly, a little bit like President Trump or secretary pompeo in their criticism of the Chinese Communist party. I think whats more provocative than the carrier operations areop the destroyers that go inside chineseclaimed territories in these features of the sea that we dont recognize that the u. N.
