Largest oneday gain this month. Management chief Investment Strategy brent and also joining the conversation this morning is the hill media reporter joe concha, fox business Jackie Deangelis and Mitch Roschelle. Bret, let me kick it off with you, your reaction on the vaccine news with moderna. Is that whats going to dictate markets moves until we get the vaccine underway . Yeah, i think so. If you think about the coronavirus anything that ends or decreases impacts in markets, if you have treatment, shrinks the length that we have to live with this in some, way, shape or form. Plus, you to also acknowledge that while cases are rising in certain parts of the country they arent in others and we arent going to lockdowns that drove deficits in march. Maria i want to get your takes on what the banks said yesterday, they are all raising money for the effects of this shutdowns, you have United Health just reporting a few moments ago, we will hear from Goldman Sachs, bank of new york, usc financial. What are you expecting there after we learned from jpmorgan and citi this week, they are raising money with the expectations that we will see increasing loan losses, does that mean the recession gets worse . Yeah, i think its typical behavior. Its actually what they do during time periods. When you get to peak provisions hopefully not in too distant future i think you will start to sharing purchases and banks right now trade at pretty low level of valuation so if and when we do get a vaccine or a treatment if and when the coronavirus loses some of its impact on the economy, we do think looking forward that banks are the types of area of the market that are somebody cyclical. Maria Mitch Roschelle jump in here. Mitch yeah, right now theres sort of absence of guidance and im curious beyond the fed and beyond news on vaccines what are investors going to be looking for in this earning season that could influence the markets . Sure, so i guess to me im more of a macro person. I do think the overall macro, the virus news, vaccine news kind of controls the overall tone of the market in the way it moves. Earnings are barometer and if a Company Comes out and report it is earnings but they are able to survive and their future is still, you know, full of cash and all kind of things that keep them alive, if you get a virus, im sorry, a vaccine, i think the stocks will move higher and so i dont want to downplay earnings, certainly i do think that given the economic recovery that we have had that we underestimates or some people did, its likely that earnings beat expectations but i still think the overall macro narrative is controlled more on what happens with the virus moving forward. Maria right, of course. We need the confidence to get people out there and get revenue generated in a number of industries. Jackie deangelis, jump in. Good morning, great to see you guys. Im wondering what you think about bankruptcies, we see them trickle in and how that impacts the economy as we move forward, something thats keeping me up at night. Yeah, the question comes up quite a bit and one of the areas of the market, certainly there could be bankruptcies and i think during every economic recession there are bankruptcies but overall if you see the virus and i hate coming back to this its what drove our down torn and response to it and we did the more nationwide, you know, pullback which caused the economic debts to be so large, if you see that receding, i think the mows cyclical areas of the economy even with bankruptcy will outperform because the survivors, if you think of what happens during recession, the week hands are forced out. The companies that survive are left to garner the higher profits that result in that until you get a new round of competition which drives earnings down cost of capital and you the whole cycle repeat. I wouldnt overly pick it on bankruptcy. I would think of what happens on the other side of this and at some point the virus will stock exerting a huge impact on the economy will push forward and more cyclical areas of the markets and even with bankruptcies will likely outperform because they havent done so well and thats actually where the volume is in the market. Maria okay, thats where youre allocating capital. Jump in. Quick question, brent. The dow closed 26,700, thats above the 2,019 which was great year and we are probably going to go 27,000 today, are you surprised that we are where we are in the markets right now given everything the country has endudder economically over the last 4 months . Yeah, im a bit surprise of the move lately because the cases are having but as maria opened audiotape about vaccine news, if youre a money manager right now and your underweight equities are behind on fund, theres a lot of cash in the sideline ready to come in and thats buy dips opportunity and any time the market falls the individuals are playing catchup because they didnt believe that march 23rd it was bottom. That all being said thats the bifurcation in the market, you have the largely s p 500 because it is controlled by bigtech stocks that help us do the things that we are doing right now and they are not really impact bid the virus, you the others. Small caps, mid caps and the more Cyclical Companies that have been punished more. When people talk about the disconnect between economy and markets, you to look under the sheets and see what is happening and thats where the market is reflecting whats happening in the economy and so i do still i guess think theres opportunity in the areas that havent done as well to do better in the future given the fact that they are more economic as we get into this. Maria makes a lot of sense, great analysis, thank you so much. Thanks for having me. Maria investing today as we watch the market now at the highs of the warning up to 269 points on the dow industrials, we are just Getting Started this morning, coming up this hour georgia congressman buddy carter talk about the president s new plans to help with infrastructure. Maria welcome back, rebuilding america, infrastructure front and center this morning as President Trump will travel to atlanta today. Hes expected to announce a policy change focused on fast tracking projects across the country. Joining me right now georgia congressman House Energy Committee member buddy carter who will be at the president s side today. Congressman, good to see you, thank you so much for joining us. Tell us about the kind of projects youd like to get fired up across the country and what the policy might do to do just that. Congressman thats the expansion of lanes i75 between atlanta and macon. We happened to have the second busiest container port in eastern savannah and this will enhance mobility and help us get our products both to the port and from the port to where they are trying to go. Theres a ups site right there and thatll help decrease the amount of of, decrease certainly the congestion there and certainly and expedite the project so where we can get it increased and without having to see congestion. Maria how important is deregulating some of these situations where whether its atlanta or anywhere else in the country, is Regulatory Environment too burdensome that pushing some of the projects to happen and take place over years and years. I mean, theres certain executives who tell me they dont want to invest in any of this because it takes too long. Congressman theres no question about it and theres no greater example of savannah harbor, perhaps most studied project ever in the history of man. We started that project in the mid90s and didnt have construction start until 2015, what we are going to be doing and what the president has done by by modifying and adjusting the National Environmental policy act is to expedite the process. Maria right. Congressman its erroneous to think that the amount of time spending equates to review. Thats what we have done here and what the president has done. This is truly someone who understands commerce and understands business. Maria yeah, and the regulatory fight. Let me ask you about joe biden, though, because Presumptive Democratic nominee has unveiled a 2 trilliondollar Climate Change plan yesterday. The former Vice President calling for more investment and shorter time frame for change. President trump fired back, listen to this. Have to get your reaction. I know that Climate Change is a challenge and is going to define our american future. I know meeting challenge would be a once in a lifetime opportunity to jolt new life into our economy, strengthen our global leadership, protect our planet for future generations and if i have the honor of being elected president , we will not tinker around the edges. He wants to impose Massive Energy taxes and jobcrushing mandates to eliminate carbon from the United States economy. Let him define the word carbon because he wont be able to. Obliterating oil and Natural Sources that supply countless american jobs. Maria congressman, your reaction to what you heard from biden and, of course, the president s response . Congressman i think the president is spot on here. You know, i served on the committee for Climate Change, i can tell you that we havent gotten the credit for decreasing Carbon Emissions like we have. We have decreased Carbon Emissions by growing our economy. It can be done. Look, we all care about the environment, republicans care about the environment just as much as democrats do but we have done great job of decreasing Carbon Footprint at the same time increasing our economy and making sure our economy continues to grow and that can be done, that can be done by the innovations that exist right here in the United States of america. Maria all right, we will leave it there, we certainly have seen the corporate sector step up in terms of all of this, for sure. President trump promising executive action to bring in highskilled workers. We are going take care of daca because im going to be doing in the not too distant future pretty soon i will be signing a new immigration action very, very big meritbase immigration action that based on the daca decision i will be able to do. Maria now, the daca decision, the president referring to is the supreme courts action last month upholding the program for young undocumented immigrants. Chief Justice John Roberts writing in 54 decision that the administration fail today give adequate justification for rescinding the program. Joe concha, what you think of the next executive action and what that might look like . Its interesting what i hear the reaction of the president announcing meritbase action, some accusing him again of the most tired term in the last 3 years of him being a racist, when you look at, however, other countries. In this country only 12 of legal immigrants are selected based on skill, based on merit, if you go to say canada or new zealand or australia that number is closer to 60 or 70 , so this is a thing that has precedent and context and i think the president should push the argument more when talking about this. Maria yeah, he said thats going to happen in the next in the near term so maybe its weeks away. Mitch roschelle, your reaction. Mitch no, i think this is an important issue and unfortunately i think it underscores the unwillingness of congress to work with the administration. I think everybody agrees that we need to reform our immigration policy to joes point to make it realistic with the rest of the world, but, again, this is one of the situations where congress refuses to give the president a win especially in this area because it takes away their narrative. Maria yeah, it certainly stop getting things done certainly. This constant fighting. And finally burger king has debut a whopper made from cows on a plantbase diet. The cutdown on methane emissions that impact Climate Change and those are your headlines from here, maria, back over to you. Maria all right, chevrolet, thank you so much. Meanwhile u. S. China trade tensions President Trump doubling down on his hardline stance against China Signing legislation and executive order to hold china and the communist Party Accountable for their crackdown on hong kongs freedoms, watch. This gives powerful new tools to hold responsible the individuals and the entities involved in extinguishing hong kongs freedom, we saw what happened and not a good situation, their freedoms have been taken away and with it goes hong kong in my opinion because it would no longer be able to compete with fro free markets. Maria joining me right now atlas organization, author of victory, jonathan ward. Thank you so much for being here. Let me get your take on the u. S. response. We know that china says its going to retaliate but how significant do you see this in terms of sanctions on individuals behind the hong kong crackdown . Jonathan i think this is incredibly important, good morning, maria, you see sanctions imposed both on chinese officials that are committing human rights atrocities and now those that are enacting the crackdown in hong kong. So as china pushes on multiple fronts and does, you know, takes action around region we are pushing back, this is a very important move and i think theres also buried in the executive thats more important and that is the president invokes International Powers act and this is an act that we should be paying a lot of attention because its really the key to strategic competition with china, it gives the president a great deal of power to alter and change the economic relationship and do all kind of things in the bilateral relationship that you put pressure on china so the economic Emergency Powers act, we will hear that again but that was invoked multiple times yesterday. Maria well, lets talk about that and how that plays out because the u. S. Released position on the Maritime Claims on the South China Sea. This is also important. The u. S. Champion free and indo pacific, today they strengthen u. S. Policy in contentious part of the reason. Thats the South China Sea where china and the communist party has been militarizing that area, correct . Jonathan right, the state department rejected all of chinas claims to South China Sea as unlawful which is a big step. Is they are using as spring board to use across the west pacific and across indian ocean into the South Pacific and build at this point they built one of the largest maritime floats there is. Theyre building massive blue water navy, we are finally taking action against china and thats what youre seeing in the last few months as coronavirus with impede on the regime. Maria they sanctioned gop senators, marco rubio, ted cruz, after accused of human rights because of uighurs locked up in camps. Is this the kind of response from china . What would be the retaliation coming from china, they say they are sanctions marco rubio and ted cruz, what does that mean getting sanctioned by the ccp, they cant go there . John things of that nature. I dont think that really has any practical effect. Its really posturing, they are in a war of words with the United States. The other thing that we should be more concerned about is points of leverage and chinese speeches that havent made it into english and fortune 500 company that spent decade in china market and how under belly of america in hems like apple, ford, starbucks, they are all over there. We will start to see them, they still Business Executives are levered to push back against u. S. Policy when they tried before and bring sectors over and try to tell them that they have to go back to washington and try to deescalate things. So i think we will see that kind of thing coming as well as other symbolic acts against american officials. Maria jonathan, and then theres hauwei, we know what the u. S. stance with hauwei and now the uk reversed stance on hauwei, the uk banning Technology Giant from 5g Telecom Network all existing hauwei equipment must be removed by 2027, i dont know, 2027, jonathan, i mean, thats how long they are giving to remove the hauwei infrastructure, is it too little, too late . Jonathan thats a long way off and so i think youre seeing a massive strategic place taking in United Kingdom and they are coming to special relationship with the United States and much broader of the United States that can defeat the people res public of china and if you look at what happened in india, australia, japan, japan released defense white paper, these are the democracy that is can ultimately come together to cut back our economic dependence on china, begin to box them in and finally come up with a winning grand strategy that units the democratic world. You know, this is the biggest problem of our time and china the these are the bad guys. We are going to have to defeat them, so thats going to take working with our allies and everything from 5g to collective defense to to, you know, new trade relationships. That picture i think is starting to maria and you think we have the allies on this because the u. S. Probably cant do this alone, take on china. We need allies across the world to do that and and weve seen a string of various speeches. Weve heard from secretary pompeo, weve heard now from Christopher Wray, head of fbi, we heard from robert obrian, nsa and we are all feeling like whats coming out of these speeches is a new up front against corporations, american corporations who are looking to sell their widgets to billion people in china and do you think companies are getting it where the National Security issues are paramount and priority for all of the leaders, this administration versus making money by selling products to china when youre not getting a fair shake . Jonathan well, i think the business relationship with china, you know, has peaked at this point and that all has to be revised an we need ceos and boards to start taking seriously and realize that we have a genuine National Security problem. This is the biggest longterm threat to both security and prosperity and those prioritize prosperity over security will have neither in the end to paraphrase ben franklin would say. Bottom line we will rethink the economic relationship. Its already happening. We need ceos on board. Thats the next big step because otherwise you have big conflict between u. S. National security and u. S. Business. We cant have the conflict. We need to be on the same side. Maria by the way, jonathan, several u. S. Subsidiaries of Chinese Companies actually received covid19 ppp loans according to treasury. One Company Named in department of defense list confirms connected to chinese military. These are Chinese Companies that have u. S. Subsidiaries and they got ppp money, your reaction. Jonathan i think its money that the taxpayers should have back. This economic relationship, entanglement of two economies, you know, frankly was a big strategic mistake. We will have to look at how that gets, you know, separated over time and i think theres going to be Decisive Action and slower things, but bottom line its an economic relationship thats been very deep and yet it creates the strategic dilemma where at the end of the day we lose our position in the world, we lose our security and ultimately our prosperity if we continue. Maria wow, jonathan, great to get your incites on this subject as always, thank you, sir, jonathan dt ward joining us. We will see you soon, jonathan. Maria welcome back, bail was denied, a judge ordered Jeffrey Epstein ghislaine maxwell, the judge saying the british socialite poses an extreme flight risk because of her financial resources, she got 20 million apparently, international ties and, quote, extraordinary capacity to avoid detection. Maxwell pleaded not guilty, her trial expected to begin next july. Joining me right now fox news legal analyst and defense attorney mercedes caldwin, do you believe ghislaine will be in jail until next july . I do. Great to be with you. When you look at the fact, the judge got it right, the judge said shes extreme wealth, the charges are very significant. She faces 5 years in prison if convicted. The fact that she had been basically alluding authorities for 30 years, purchased a multiple dollar home in New Hampshire under blind trust in an aliais and when authorities went to New Hampshire home they found lots of passports, obviously there was cash on hand, so there were so many finds that if she were released she would be a flight risk. Maria unbelievable. So apparently shes got like 20 million over several Different Bank accounts and she has 3 passports, is that right . Exactly right. One of the things, once you added all up judge thought it was too much of a risk. Maria yeah, prosecutors detailing what they call serious red flags concerning maxwells deception even telling a Real Estate Agent that she was a journalist named janet marshal, so shes got the aliaises going thats for sure. Exactly. Shes treasure troll of information. The prosecutors want to put pressure to start identifying who else was involved like who is who, the most powerful men in the world. Maria unbelievable. Jackie i find this story more interesting than what Jeffrey Epstein because shes being painted as master mind but the last point im intrigued because she does not seem like the kind of person that will make it in jail. Is this where she start to say here is who was involved and starts to deflect attention away from herself because shes not used to living this kind of lifestyle . Oh, its exactly right, jackie, theres concerns, her lawyers raised the concern of covid19. There had been a number of individuals that were stricken and that she was at risk of contracting the disease as well, so frankly given that, the fact that this is so so different than the life shes led and really the prosecutors main goal, theres going to be all backchannel communication with her lawyers, to get as much conceivable information and evidence and have maxwell give that information to prosecutors. Im sure at this point they have a list of individuals at least suspects that they would like to clearly bring to justice and keeping her in prison will certainly get her there. Maria are we going to actually get to this . Thats what we thought we were going to get, the treasure troll with Jeffrey Epstein and he quote, unquote committed suicide. Is that her fate as well . I think that everyone is pretty concerned. As i said before the Biggest Challenges that prosecutors face is keeping her alive because all that intellectual capital of others that were involveded in e sex trafficking of young girls, frankly thats going to be significant and thats why theyve been taken so many measures already. Shes wearing paper clothing, she will be moved from cell to cell, she will be in isolation as well and shes making sheer she stays alive for that summer. Maria great to get your insights. Mitch i thought it was really neat and here is the best part since all of us sheltered and cant go to gyms, a hundred cities saw improvements similarities including exercising, less smoking and the number of parks people could go to and tenminute walks, so i think the belief that we are all sitting around eating cheetos and getting fat is debunked. Maria youre right. Getting out and doing exercise. Vanity fair, latest feature features viola davis, photos have been featured in publications including the New York Times. Jackie, this is the first cover story shot by a black photographer on vanity fair ever. Jackie absolutely, its striking, vanity fair wants to be part of the conversation about racism and especially specifically within the fashion industry, right, trying to make a statement there. The article that goes along with it talks about a lot of things, talks about davis growing up in poverty and life in hollywood and makes comments on participating in the grand jury floyd protest and she basically said that her whole life has been a protest so this is a start of a conversation and not just within a certain realm but the fashion industry as well with a very visual statement here. The measure sanctions chinese officials who crack down on honk ohongkong residents. Their rights and freedoms have been taken away. Hong kong will no longer be able to compete with free markets. I signed an executive order ordr ending peripheral treatment for hong kong preferential treatment for hong kong. Maria china is vowing to retaliate against the United States with sanctions of its own, saying no foreign country has the right to interfere in Hong Kong Affairs. The u. S. Joining me right now is chief investment officer, lee monson, along with ceo mark mattson and sean ohara. Great to see everybody this morning. Thank you for being here. Markets reacting to modernas positive results this morning from the vaccine clinical trials, the news is raising hopes for a quicker economic recovery and vaccine sooner than later. Every time we get positive news on a vaccine, markets certainly trade up. We do, but i think if investors wait for a final cure to get into the market i think they could be waiting a very long time. Remember, weve been looking for an aids vaccine for over 40 years. The annual vaccine works about 40 of of the time and the viruses mutate. I think investors have to stay longterm. And so many people have been panicked out of the market, that need to be in the market long term, dont avoid equities and have you to rebalance on the highs and lows. So my message to investors is dont try to time it, get in it right now and stay in it for the long term. Maria yeah, that makes a lot of sense. Earnings season is in full swing, bank of new york and Pnc Financial Services Group along with u. S. Bank corp. Reporting in the next hour. Goldman sachs will be out this morning of. Lee, what are you expectations here . I dont think were going to see a disaster from Goldman Sachs. A lot of people are concerned that markets might have loans that are going bad. When you look at the jp morgan, the citigroup from yesterday, it looks good. Im never concerned about wells fargo because they always disappoint. I think if investors have cash which we know, especially in the baby boomer generation, theyre sitting of n sitting on a pe of cash. A huge minority were selling in march and are underinvested. I think you can buy things like the banks right now. Theres cheap things on sale. Look at the energy, natural limited partnerships. You can buy baskets of them. Those are very cheap right now. You dont have to buy the nasdaq. You dont have to buy the s p. If you want to buy something basic like the russell 1000 value through a cheap etf, you can do that now with a little more calm and a confidence. The whole group is down 10, 15, almost 20 so i also think its important to say, if this spread between the laggards and the leaders still get bigger and bigger, thats going to be bearish for the market. If you have any type of opt optm here, i think you look at what happened in may and you get the cheaper beaten up stocks, start to catch up. So remember, you can see the nasdaq hot stocks kind of falter here and sideline and see everything start to pick up the pace like we did about six weeks ago. I think thats the trade right now. Thats how im investing new cash, buy whats on sale. Theres no harm in it. And the valuations look a lot better. Maria well, lee, what about apple . I mean, this is one of those hot stocks youre referring to and apple got really big news this morning. European union court has decided that apple does not have to pay that 15 billion in taxes. This is a big deal for apple. Stocks up 2 andahalf percent right now. Thats why the dow futures are actually stepping up into another leg up. Were now up 425 points. Would you buy apple here on this news from the eu decision . No, i wouldnt. Apple has some issues with not being able to really grow the revenues over the past few years. I would rather stay away from the general fang stocks right now. I know that makes me very unpopular. But i still maintain the type of momentum youre seeing at the top end, the fang stocks, i have more concern about that lacking the type of followthrough between now and the end of the year. I mean, hows apple going to start raising their revenue another 20 of 20 going forward. Everybodys stuck at home. I would rather buy whats on sale. I own the s p. That stuff is in there. Im certainly not selling my apple holdings. Would i add to it right now . You just let that fang stuff ride. Its 25 of the s p. S ps our main core holding. Youre getting all that stuff. I would rather commit new capital to what is i mean, the banks are still down 15 to 20 . That i think is more appropriate today. Maria the banks are down, youre right. Banks are down. Sean ohara. What do you make of the loan losses . When you listen to a jp morgan, to a citi, like we did yesterday, this week when the Bank Earnings came out, what are you hearing from them . Youre hearing from them were going to raise revenue, were going to raise money, put it aside because we think were going to see defaults on loans. We think youre going to see loan losses move up. What do you make of that and whats happening in the etf world . Are people worried about valuations for things like apple . Do they like the banks . How are you seeing the flows . You know good morning, maria. Thanks for having me. I think thats actually a big the banks wouldnt be setting aside this capital unless they saw you a problem. Its a prudent thing for them to do. Its not only happening on the individual side, youre starting to see it on the corporate loan side as well. I think the trend probably continues until we work our way through this. As far as the overall market goes, as the previous guest said, theres a very, very crowded trade at the top of these broadbased indexes, whether its the s p 500 or the nasdaq 100, where five stocks dominate. If the markets going to have a saving grace going forward, its the other 495 stocks in the s p 500 or the other 95 stocks in the nasdaq 100 that will have to pick up the mantel and carry it from here. For investors concerned about valuations, we recently rebalanced one of our funds. We select 100 stocks based on Free Cash Flow yield and the current pe on that portfolio is around 11. So its about half of the overall market. These are stocks that generate a huge amount of cash. They havent been popular with investor as weve been chasing the big tech names. If you wanted to diversify your portfolio going forward, that would be a way to derisk a little, own some quality stuff, get paid an attractive dividend. As far as the overall market goes, its trading on the optimism. We own moderna. So were happy to see that theyre working on a vaccine and it looks promising. That will be the driver until we start to see some of the numbers come in in terms of whether or not the economy goes back to where it was. Were trading at 20 times, 2021s earnings. Which essentially means were trading at a level right now that is earnings are based on what they were supposed to be this year for next years number. And well have to see whether or not that makes sense or not as we start to get really full disclosure on whats happening in the economy. Maria yeah, its a great point. 20s up there in terms of a pe for sure. Price to earnings ratio on this market. Lee munson, mark, sean ohara, good to see you all. Thank you so much. Coming up, former deputy and National Security advisor kt mcfarland is back to talk about how the Trump Administration is Holding China accountable for the crackdown on hong kong. First, much more ahead, a shakeup at the New York Times as a prominent writer, editor resigns over a hostile Work Environment. Were going to get into it. Consistent yeahs president ial dreams kanyes president ial dreams dashed already, why his campaign may be over before it started. Youre watching mornings with maria live on fox business. Put in that work, devin. Dont give up. Geico. Save an extra 15 when you switch by october 7th. Maria welcome back. A bit of a shakeup at the New York Times to report, opinion editor and writer barry weiss resigning, citing a hostile Work Environment. She said they called me a nazi and racist, i have learned to brush off comments about how of im writing about the jews again. Several colleagues perceived to be friendly with me were badgered by coworkers. Theres terms for all of this, unlawful discrimination, hostile Work Environment and constructive discharge. Im no legal expert by i know this is wrong. Joe, your reaction . Jackie . Joe this is the greatt Resignation Letter ive ever seen. It was inspiring in its candor. One quote stood out to me. Op eds that would have easily been published two years ago would now get an editor in serious trouble, if not fired. We saw that last month where an op ed editor had the adas at auo print an editorial by joe cotton. Barry weiss is a centrist. Thats what she was talking about. Hopefully the New York Times gets the message and starts to have a more balanced editorial page, an Editorial Board that has not endorsed a republican president ial candidate since 1956. Thats 64 years ago. That means they had to have endorsed dukakis, carter, mcgovern, go down the line. Maria oh, my goodness. So joe, with that letter, when youre reading into this letter by weiss, do you think shes bringing up legalese . She says its discrimination. Do you see a lawsuit coming . Joe well, that would be interesting, right. I dont know if its about that for her. I think she just wanted to do what writers like to do, which is have not the diversity that the New York Times talks about in terms of color of skin but diversity of thought which is far more important. She did talk about bullying. She did talk about harassment. She did say it was in writing. Perhaps there is a lawsuit here. I have a feeling that her and Andrew Sullivan who resigned from new York Magazine may say okay, heres what we have to offer from a center right point of view. Maria yeah. Well, diversity is incredibly important so diversity of speech as well and you just dont get a lot of it. And shes an opinion writer. The New York Times declined to comment on specifics. But they did issue the following statement, saying this. Were committed to fostering an environment of honest, searching and em pathetic dialogue between colleagues where Mutual Respect is required of all. Jackie, whats your reaction to this response. Jackie the response is kind of laughable, maria. I think the tom cotton op ed situation also shines a light on the fact that if dont subscribe to a certain belief at the New York Times, they dont make you feel comfortable there. And this editorial, this letter that she wrote sort of sharing her opinions and her feelings shining a light on all of this, when did it become a crime to work somewhere and have an honest dialogue and conversation about so many issues important to american people, especially as were moving forward into an election year. Its disgraceful. Maria it really is. And thats the whole point. Shes an opinion writer. You would think she would give her opinion on these things and we could all have a diverse conversation. Thank you for that. Quick break and then reversing course, the Trump Administration is changing its stance on the student visa policy. Im going to tell you what it means for International Students studying here coming up. Maria welcome back. Peacock in the mix, the steaming wars heating up as nbc launches a new streaming service, offering three different tiers, a free ad supported option with twothirds of the content and two Premium Options with all 20 of thousand hours of consent, one with ads, one without. Joining us now is the cofounder of netflix, mark randolph. Mark, its great to have you here. Thanks so much. Congrats to you. What an incredible idea on netflix and look where streaming is today. Can you assess the situation for us, first . Characterize the streaming situation as you see it. Well, maria, it feels a little bit like groundhog day to me, like another morning and another streaming service entering the fray. Im glad to see this. Its a validation of what netflix has largely been doing by itself for a dozen years. Whats funny is theres an established playbook for launching a streaming service and nbc i dont think got the memo of. Normally you come without your big flagship content, you would have your free deals with tell tellcos and cable companies. I dont think were used to see advertising, channels. This is not your fathers streaming service. And the interesting thing here for me is, was this intentional or is are they just playing a bad hand . Looking at the premium content, with the addition of brave new world, maybe the new David Shwimmer series, there isnt that much coming out due to covid. They planned to make a big splash with the olympics, and thats out too. Theyre not out on roku or fire stick which is 70 of the streaming devices. In some ways its a come from behind strategy and i think a lot of that is whats driving this free, the free tier. Whats interesting for me is to watch this and see is free really the focus. Is that what they stick to . Or is this largely a strategy for the first few years and eventually they end up looking like the rest of the services. Maria but mark, look at all this spending happening. I mean, spending on content has been skyrocketing with the reported 121 billion spent on original content in 2019. I mean, obviously maybe that spending has slowed down in the face of covid but as the streaming wars continue is this sort of spending sustainable or will some of these guys not be able to make it out . How are you going to spend, what, 10 to 12 to 13 billion in a year on new content . Netflix was slated to spend almost 17 billion in a year. These are astonishing numbers. I mean, even nbc is saying its going to be a 2 billion spend. But these numbers i cant even imagine how you do that. But listen, this is not about spending for todays customers. All of these companies are spending for the future customers. I think all of them believe that in many ways were just at the beginning. Looking at netflix, what are they going to have at the end of tomorrow when they announce, maybe 190 million subscribers. That seems like a huge number. But compare that to a number of monthly youtube users or of facebook users which is about 2 billion. Or the number of internet assessable smartphones at about 4 billion. So i think whats happening is were at the beginning of this huge rollout where these companies arent competing with each other. Theyre competing against cable. Theyre competing against other ways people spend time and i think this spending is really setting the stage for whats going to be happening for years to come. Maria real quick on quibi. Any thoughts on faltering there . I do a lot of work with young entrepreneurs and one of the most important things you have to realize is its not about getting flashy numbers of people signing up. The real indication of success is can you convert people and are they engaged . And listen, on one hand for quibi, i kind of bemoney the bee shortening of the american attention span. Some days there will be a service with nothing but subliminal content. I have to hand it to them, theyre really trying some new things. Its not just the fact that their content is different. The fact that its mobile first is quite a step. The fact that you can rotate your phone and get a totally different editing example. But im really not so sure how this is going to play. You know, its a but ive got to hand it to them. Good shot. Maria yeah. I guess its still the early days. Mark, its great to get your insights on this. Thanks so much. Mark randolph joining us there, cofounder of netflix. Hold offing china accountable, President Trump cracks down on the Chinese Government and communist party over hong kong. Goldman sachs reporting quarterly earnings. Lets get to Cheryl Casone with the numbers and other headlines right now. Cheryl strong number coming in from Goldman Sachs, 626 is the earnings per share number, a very strong number on earnings per share. And then revenue at Goldman Sachs coming in at 13. 3 billion, 13. 3 billion. The estimate was for 9. 75 billion. Couple of strong nuggets. They increased head count by 2 . Companys saying the Economic Outlook is uncertain. We heard the same kind of commentary coming from the other banks that we got yesterday. Remember, this is a dow component. The stock is up 3 andahalf percent. We were looking for trading revenue numbers coming. Quarterly net revenues and equities 2. 94 billion. That is a 46 jump year over year, 46 . One more thing on goldman, then ill move on to other of news. Net revenues and Investment Banking 2. 66 billion. A 36 jump year over of year. So some very strong numbers coming in from Goldman Sachs. Again, that dow component. Dow up 465 right now. Other headlines this morning, this is the big news on the epstein trial. Ghislaine maxwell pleading not guilty to sex trafficking charges during her arraignment in new york city. She is going to remain behind bars until her trial is set to begin in july of next year. Shes accused of recruiting at least three underage girls for Jeffrey Epstein to sexually abuse. Back over to you, maria. Maria i like those sneakers. I tell you that. They look good. Cheryl, thank you so much. And what a rally on goldman, stock is up better than 3 . We want to look at Holding China accountable now, President Trump signing a law to punish the Chinese Communist party over the crackdown its taken over hong kong, the law moving to sanction chinese officials who threaten hong kong residents rights to free speech as well as banks that work with those officials. The president commenting yesterday. This law gives my administration powerful new tools to hold responsible the individuals and the entities involved in extinguishing hong kongs freedom. Weve all watched what happened. Not a good situation. Their freedoms been taken away, their rights have been taken away and with it goes hong kong in my opinion. It will no longer be able to compete with free markets. A lot of people will be leaving hong kong, i suspect and were going to do a lot more business because of it because we just lost one competitor. The way it is. Maria joining me right now is former trump deputy National Security advisor, she is the author of revolution, kt mcfarland is here. Great to see you this morning. Thanks so much for being here. Pleasure. Great to be with you. Welcome back. Maria lets assess, first, kt, the National Security risks around china. You know this better than most and right now what youre seeing is a string of speeches coming out of this administration, whether its secretary pompeo, Robert Obrien, or, you know, Christopher Wray from the fbi, all talking about the National Security risks around china and the communist party. How do you see it, kt . Okay. So what happened is a couple of years ago the Chinese Government passed a law saying that all Chinese Companies, independent companies as well as government owned companies, as well as chinese individuals, have to turn over and cooperate with the chinese military, the Chinese Government, in their request. In other words, there is now no such thing as independent chinese company. An independent chinese student. If the Chinese Government says to a student we want you to go to mit and spy, the student has to do that by law. That really is the crux of whats happened now is theres nothing independent about china. And now that hong kong, which the chinese promised to the british and everybody else, china would be one country but it would be two systems. Hong kong could have its own laws. Now the chinese have reneged on that promise as well. In hong kong if you demonstrate, youre labeled a traitor and you are put in jail for life. So that promise is abdi kateed. I think as you pointed out, President Trump, Vice President pence, secretary pompeo, Robert Obrien, the nsc advisor, theyre on a fullcourt press to really to help the world come together, free market democracies come together to stand up to china. Because of property theft, because of the militaryization, because of coronavirus and honk of kong. Hong kong was the final straw, i think, hong kong and the pandemic. Maria i think youre right. I think at this point you are seeing allies across the world with the United States on this, knowing that this whole Civil Military fusion idea which is what you just talked about, the fact that everything first goes to the military and it is chinese law, you have to follow the ccp when it asks you to do something. But look what happened in the u. K. , kt. Huawei and 5g. The United Kingdom has moved to ban the Telecom Company from its Telecom Companies from purchasing equipment made by huawei for their 5g networks, all existing huawei equipment must be removed by 2027. This move could increase pressure on other of countries i guess to enact similar rules. But secretary pompeo came on this program, kt and he said, look, we cannot share the same level of information with countries that are using huawei. So we cant because its going back to the chinese ccp. Is that right . Yeah. I mean, absolutely. And i think the british reversal, the British Government decision to ban huawei from 5g and then take it out of the previous gs networks is really significant because the british had really fought them. We had urged them for years, oh, please, ban huawei and they refused. But now they changed course. They reversed their decision. They are banning huawei and the National Security advisor Robert Obrien and his deputy, matt pottinger, both men i brought into the Trump Administration and i am very proud of theyre going around i the european capitals and talking to other countries in europe, saying the british are doing it, were doing it, you should ban huawei as well. Theyre trying to assemble a coalition, obrien told me theyre trying to assemble a coalition with the u. S. And the u. K. And other democracies, free market systems, to band together to stand up together to china. That we are such a large trading block, we are such a powerful group, that we can stand up to china over of intellectual property theft, over the chinese militaryization and seizure of the south china see and the other issues weve just china sea and the other issues weve talked about. Its an important step, not noticed by the Mainstream Media of course, but really important. Maria of course not. At the end of the day, when youre looking at a party, the communist party that has human rights abuses, that tracks its citizens, that disappears people, i would imagine the rest of the world does not want the Chinese Communist Party Running the world. But theyve made it very clear that this is what their goal is. They want to be the number one super power, economically, the number one super power militarily. Its almost in the u. S. s and allies duty to stop the ccp from running the world. Yeah, and the chinese have always had this plan. They plan to run the world by midcentury. With the pandemic, theyve speeded up the time diss line. They think theyre going to emerge from the crisis a couple years from now and they will be the dominant world super power. Thats why theyre making these moves now with honk of kong, thats hong kong. Thats why theyre making the moves in the South China Sea, pushing the countries around to say that china controls us. Thats why President Trump in a significant move that wasnt noted, he put two Aircraft Carrier battle groups in the South China Sea. I think we only have five operational battle groups. To put two of them in the South China Sea, what hes basically done is reverse what the Obama Administration had really kind of left the South China Sea to chinese control. Were now back and were making a statement that we are not leaving the South China Sea. We are a pacific power. We will band together with our of allys in the pacific to stand up to chinese seizure of the most important maritime trade route in the world. Maria yeah. Im really glad you brought that up. We spoke about this earlier with jonathan ward. The u. S. s position in the South China Sea, that Decision Just happening and it was really important. Real quick, kt, before you go. Were waiting of on the john durham investigation. Do you believe we will see indictments . Ag barr told me a couple weeks ago that were going to get developments by just around labor day, right after labor day. You told us your story, you were ambushed the way general flynn was. Yeah. Yeah, and when i watched that interview with barr that you conducted i was a little concerned because then there were stories afterwards in the media that said the Justice Department may decide to put of off convictions or charging people until after the election. If that happens, it will be buried so deep the archeologists wont find it. Its important to get that stuff out now because crimes were committed. Abuses were committed. And unless those people are held to account, it will happen again and again and again. Because what effectively they tried to do was undermine the 2016 election. Maria thats right. Kt mcfarland, great to see you as always. Thank you so much. Great to see you. Maria have a great day, well see you soon, kt. Thank you. And stay with us. Maria welcome back. Goldman sachs reporting better than expected secretar second qr earnings moments ago. Earnings per share, better than the 378 estimate. Revenue of 13. 30 billion, better than the estimate of 9. 75 billion, beating on the top and bottom line, showing signs of strength in the bond trading and underwriting business. The stock is soaring on the news, its up 4 on these numbers. Joining me right now is the chief financial strategist of Odeon Capital group, dick bovee. Your reaction to the goldman numbers and want to get you to take a step back and tell me what youre hearing from the banks overall so far in this Second Quarter. Maria, thank you. Separating two issues. First, Goldman Sachs. Basically, that goes back to the covid virus. In other words, when the covid virus hit, the Federal Reserve started pumping money at an unbelievable rate. In other words, it is up 40 year over year. Thats never happened since they redefined money in 1980. The second thing that covid did was it caused panic among corporations that they had to build a cash resource as rapidly as possible to withstand whatever recession would occur. So the net result was you saw massive amount of liquidity pouring into the Financial Markets at a massive amount of demand for that liquidity and who was there in the middle to handle that but Goldman Sachs. Goldman sachs obviously was a leader in raising money for corporations. Goldman sachs was a leader in, if you will, facilitating trading for a wide variety of fixed income and other of commodity, if you will, issues. So the net effect is, covid is what created Goldman Sachs earnings at the present time and the fact that is really disturbing is the Federal Reserve cant continue this. In other words, the Federal Reserve cannot continue to grow the money supply at the rate that weve seen since february. The money supply is actually up slightly under 3 trillion in this period. So the net effect is, if in fact the Federal Reserve starts to pull back and quite frankly it has, in other words, in the last three weeks the Federal Reserve has reduced the size of its assets and the size of its balance sheet. If the Federal Reserve starts to pull back, then liquidity starts to dry up a bit and goldman will not be able to replicate what they did in this quarter in the coming quarters. In terms of the banks and their loan losses, again, were going back to covid. What were dealing with is what i call a synthetic economy. Its a synthetic economy because basically we have the government upping funds into the hands of individuals, households, small businesses. We have as we said, the Federal Reserve pumping money into corporations and the Financial Markets. So we dont really know where we stand in the economy and with wt the banks are saying is what were seeing is frightening and what is frightening them is the number of people who are not paying their credit cards, who are not making payments on their mortgages, the corporations that are going bankrupt. So theyre tour at th at the tue going back into the shell. You know jamie dimon perhaps better than anyone. If you take a look at what hes done, what hes done is hes increasing his common equity, hugely increasing his liquidity, hes not increasing loans, he has not been increasing loans for about a year. Hes basically taking a defensive stand. Hes protecting jp morgan and so is the other big banks. Maria yeah. Which is why i get worried because if they are having such uncertainty, needing to raise loan reserves so much, what does that tell us about the broader recovery here . Very quickly, dick, weve got to jump, would you buy any of these stocks right here . Well, i think you would buy Morgan Stanley today. Their earnings will be out tomorrow, as strong as Goldman Sachs earnings right here. If you want to protect yourself, buy jp morgan. I would not be buying the regional banks because theyre going to be producing disappointing numbers. Maria okay. Well leave it there. Dick bovee, great to get your insights, sir. Thank you so much. Mitch, what do you think, is this the end . Mitch it was pretty quick from the start to finish. But i think the real issue there is does his activeism resonate with a component of the electorate who ordinarily doesnt vote, does that drive voter turnout and if so does that benefit the president or joe biden and that remains to be seen. Maria next up, how many hot dogs can you eat . 84 apparently according to researchers. It comes with possible and probable stomach issues. Well you are seeing it right now maria, the implications have been death destruction, shootings up by triple digit percentages yearoveryear. I mean it doesnt require an vansed degree in statistics, modeling to see what is happening, it is happening, but why . I think your question is important. Not just okay we can look at data, we see shootings up, up why are they up . Why is disbanding of anticrime why does it have to do with it the answer is very simple, bill de blasio naefr street cop okay. You dont have have to be one to understand he should have sought out are civil procedures of people who know, plainclothes o Police Officers ride around the eyes areas of Police Almost sentinel on the street the why . Yob commits crimes in front of people in marked police cars unless you are an idiot what do you do wait for them to leave then good and rob o someone that is what they do, when you are in Unmarked Police cars in plainclothes, anticrime cops the ones stopping those crimes that were happening right in fronted of them, maria, a very small percentage infinish confessly small percentage commits normal number when you get people off the streets, you see the shootings robberies start this was a disastrous decision mayor be blasio blaming guns on the street, he is not discussing the fact, that the bail reform law, allows criminals to go right back on the street, there is no bail, you know, not discussing all of the changes that he has done weve got pictures of him painting black lives matter matter outsides of trump tower pokeing the president to put it right there instead of focusing how are we stopping shootings dan . Yeah, you know maria, you are and i can argue or debate all day about laffer curve tax rates marginal tax rates, leave to left its will cause economic day willing you cant lose argument with public safety. You cant, we have loss that the to bill de blasio his decisions are actually costing lives. People are actually dying, this is a failed mayor, he i mean really should resign i am not kidding decisions this is not hyperbolic not for effect in front of your audience his decisions are actually costing people their lives and their safety. He really needs to step aside. He it is and the high crime areas minority dmunts, that are suffering the most communities suffering the most under de blasio right now a text aboutbook in failure in leadership. The. The very groups he claims he is trying to protect, help, joe jump in here not just new york city, by the way, the portland mayor is defying the federal judge, slamming the department of Homeland Security stories of tweets essentially saying he does not need help in stemming unrest facing that city portland mayor tweeted with frj agents writing the best thing they can do stays inside building leave port lapd altogether our goal end many demonstrations quickly i asked him to clean up graffiti on local federal facilities your reaction, first, judge joe jump in, your reaction to this. What is going on Pacific Northwest between portland what we saw summer of love in seattle chaz chop lost complete control as o de blasio in new york we are seeing tirments up 411 compared to same time last year, when you talk to cops on the ground what is the i more morale is low never numbers remetly close like cops say you know what we are not pressured by people, certain areas, of new york, but most perform not by leaders particularly our mayor we are out i am taking resignation going somewhere else. Maybe this retirement analogy more sense if you had for the 50000 company top levels company 0, 40 Years Experience all left at the same time to retire in nypd you need 5 years on the job now you need 20 when i was there all senior most experienced people are trying to get out at the same time what would happen to that company the answer the stock price would collapse overnight the problem with Police Department when you experience people leave, your gang officers understand, you know gang signs who knows who, who organized crime, who understands where pockets are all leave at the same time all of that about collective knowledge goes down the drain what do you have . A disaster on your hands, sad part about this, maria joe, both, is this is only going to get worse if it doesnt stop now, it is sad because people are going to die, again i dont say that to be hyperbolic i sait because i was born in new york city still love big apple going to get worse. Well you are going to see people moving out, and then they are going to have problems, with money they are already having problems with money once you have all the wealth lead leaving the city of you to start cutting back on social services you hurt very people you said you wanted to protect, because you know, some people it is okay about the homelessness about high tax rates, once you lose your feeling of safety and security, it is over. Is this where you want to allocate capital or are you beginning to get worried about valuations . I am still overweight Technology Health care has been for sometime, the only they are the only two groups that have out permitted every time we have had quantitative easing this is no surprise, now the evaluations are creeping up no question about it at least for the market off, maria if you accept 150 dollars for s p 500, earnings for next year, and put a generous 20 p e on it the markets above that level as we speak, so, we keep climbing higher as a function of the fed has all the money in the world and then some there is a lot of cash sloshing around zero percent return you get health care technology, mind goodness look ated Goldman Sachs numbers this morning off the charts, so we are getting results certainly less bad starting about to be good. Goldman sachs off the charts, stock soaring this morning, about 4 higher the Bank Earnings beating street expectations goldman stock up 4 1 2 ahead of opening bell we saw j. P. Morgan citi talk about raising levels of money going in reserve, so that they can raise the loan loss about reserves what does that tell you how would you characterize the earnings season so far Second Quarter are. Obviously, erly the minus 45 of the consensus expecting too dire may be less bad than that i dont think the market carries a lot about Second Quarter earnings wants to know is Third Quarter better than second, by how much . More importantly what does next year look at. I think weve got to watch carefully how Many Companies come back to giving guidance, last quarter could you take a pass say i have no idea what is going on not giving any guidance. I think companies will be, Higher Expectations around that guidance, but to numbers so far, again, early, so far not so bad. Maria you are right larry kudlow said that it is going to be a 20 , second half see if numbers berthat out Mitch Roschelle what do you think jump in here. Well i am curious, beyond the technology and health care names that are driving the market if someone wanted to get opportunistic today midpoint in the year, and speculate in a couple sectors where would they look right now . So, i would not count out ask Consumer Discretionary stocks, obviously, amazon has been leader there, but target makes sense in, our view. We mentioned briefly the financials, i am still underweight those stocks think of been horrible are performers each quarter that goes by we get Balance Sheets a little bit improved where loan loss reserves are picking up giving some cushion you got to wonder if that sector is not one of the next ones to do bargain hunting in. Maria welcome back it is finally tax day, three months later than used to, july 15th, new oped in the wall street journal, shed light on what joe bidens tax plan could look like titled biden tax price would be severe oped writes if democrats win in november attorneys across the country will wrack up billable hours wealthy clients review estate plans between election day and yearend one thing if campaigning on a sound you dollar bounceing the budget slashing about National Debt but he isnt the reason because he has tax increases that he is poised to put in place a lot of Spending Plans as well, so it is not like that revenue is going to be able to balance the budget, here is one, from the oped, a married couple filing jointly shows 78,000 dollars ordinary income, current marginal tax rate 12 , when trump tax cuts expired marginal rate will more than double to 25 , your take . Maria, there is a reason why joe biden did that speech yesterday in wilmington didnt take questions from he reporters after this is no way to explain this math without talking about, tax hikes, not just on the rich, but also on middle class and even below that, as well, to pay for for instance, a two trillion dollar Green New Deal light version he is proposing, remember alexandria ocasiocortez is head of Climate Task Force for campaign two trillion now you know how it works in campaigns bait and twitch twks 4 trillion, 5 trillion if elected no way to pay for that think of spending during this pandemic now no way to pay unless you raise taxes on everyone last check last guy to run on raising taxes on people during a campaign was waltzeder mondale won exactly one state, his own minnesota 1984. Dont forget elizabeth like i said is going to be real important in his Economic Policy she wants to institute a wealth tax jackie another quote from this oped this morning, mr. Biden has proposed to reinstate obama tax rates for top earners simultaneously imposing unlimited 12. 4 Social Security payroll tax over 400,000 dollars in President Biden has his way top capital tax gains rate 39. 6 same as ordinary income could be triple whammy cutting state Tax Exemption in half 4ri78g the reset to fair market value about doubling cap gains tax rate jackie if you get a cap gains tax close to 40 i think you have people taking a Second Thought about investing in the market, we may very well see a severe selloff in that regard. Absolutely, i mean i think that people have to think about what would actually happen, if joe biden became president hopefully they will before election wall street you can see futures up today because there is optimism about the vaccine, and biotech all things that we do in this country to innovate not taking if joe biden takes over wall street definitely is going to think about it as they go into november par 4a. We will see about that markets up 500 points this morning, not sure if wall street understands the policies though that could be coming at home, if he does win in november we will keep watching that for sure, quick break then we are focused on energy, former Energy Secretary about rick perry here on joe bidens climate plan impact on u. Thank you so much, we are looking at energy this morning, climate plan veiled joe biden unveiled two trilliondollar proposal, focusing on reducing fossil fuels across country creating new jobs President Trump responded saying bidens plan will destroy American Energy sector, watch. When donald trump thinks about about Climate Change, the only word he can ebb muster is hoax when i think about Climate Change, the word i think of is jobs. He said core is a hard left crusade against American Energy he wants to kill American Energy. The. Maria joining me right now former secretary of energy, former Texas Governor rick perry, governor it is always pleasure to see you, welcome back. Thank you maria. What is your reactions to joe bidens climate plan . Expensive two trillion dollars, what do you think . Listening to that clip, that reminds me of joe biden look being into the camera and telling nra that i am coming after you i am going to get all your guns. He is looking into the eye of the American Energy industry and basically saying i am coming after you im going to get all of your jobs, because that far left radical Energy Agenda that he talks about, will be a massive job killer, i mean hundreds of thousands of jobs, in the oil and sagas industry the coal industry i mean all across the board, companies the union jobs that are being created out there you know, if i am a union guy in the Energy Industry i stay away from joe biden, like he is a plague. Interesting to me, to see all of these plans, climate plan, valued two trillion dollars Government Health care plan, also in trillions raising taxes already significantly talking about raising Capital Gains highest earnings ultimately raise everybodys redactions not even putting a dent in the deficit or the debt 22 trillion dollars debt because of plans like this, just going to spend that tax revenue on expensive plans like this one. Yeah. Maria, the interesting thing is that the United States because of our o innovation, we have attained Number One Oil and Gas Producing country in the world. Of the and we need to maintain that the jobs to get created the independence of that, the idea that we are going to move away from fossil fuels by 2035, is a stunning admission by joe biden that he has no touch with reality. The fact is you are going to continue to keep an economy that takes care of americans, that economic basis are going to have to have that oil and gas industry, the interesting thing is he gives no credit to our ability to innovate. Whether it is you know coming up with new technologies that allow for us to use these Energy Resources cleaner efficiently never nuke energy able to do to use Fusion Energy as a source i think he has been he has been taken over by this radical Progressive Left you know, Green Energy Future thing that aoc, and omar Bernie Sanders out there pitching, going to cost millions, millions of jobs. Well you know what else secretary ebb . There is no mention of how well companies have done, i mean, in america, actually putting you policy aside, the corporate sector has tried to get fossil fuels lower improve in terms of pollution, and improve their own governance in this area, and where are the sanctions on china, by the way . Isnt china the biggest polluter of all . There is no problem working with china in he in some regard accordinged to joe biden and they are the biggest are polluter of all. President trump has heralded what texas what u. S. Has done, from the standpoint, of lowering emissions cleaning up the air, and instead of that, we need to be, hammering, those countries that are out there, that are polluting, making our Technology Available to they do i think that is what is important. U. S. If this is a priority, if this is a priority, for this country, you would think that is what we would do switch gears key primaries across the country seeing big wins for trump endorsed candidates former Auburn University headed football coach tuberville defeating Jeff Sessions yesterday Ronny Jackson winning in Texas Governor do you think that is trend for candidates supported by the president going into november . Tell us your assessment as we watched over 100 days away from election day 2020. Have absolutely. A lot of places across the country people clamoring to have President Trumps endorsement, you saw certainly, in this georgia you saw it in texas, you see it in the a lot of places that that donald trump is so incredibly popular out there, and, you know, we get this economy headed back in right direction to shift away from races very important, but you see this economy headed back in right direction, answered openinging in our opening our schools, i think that is one of the really important things, that we have to do, and again American Technology, that is out there, i see some technologies right here in texas there is a Company Called integrated bioprotection has hb ac retrofit with a filter that kills 99. 8 of this virus that is type of technology, that you could put into our schools, and get them open, and the i think the American Economy knowing Public Schools are going to open back up will just skyrocket, in the right direction. Maria are yeah. It is a good point, we need our kids back in school, but we also have to do it safely, i want to ask you about texas though joe biden has launched his First Campaign ad in the state of texas, several polls showing him leading President Trump what is going on in Texas Governor . Is texas turning purple . It is the same thing that has been going on the last 20 years, every election cycle the nats say ahh, this time we are taking texas back. And the fact is now and then they get, a close, where they with a kind of a sexy beto came on everybody thought hottest newest things a lot of young people voted, two things happened you no longer can vote straight ticket voting in texas done away with by legislature i think rightly so people dont just come in without thinking or knowing who they are voting for. So, the idea that texas is going to turn red, i hope they come spend a bunch of money trying to beat john, going to beat the hager, i mean it is going to be to be a beatdown monumental proportions texas saying red i dont even worry about that. We leave it there governor good to see you, sir. Thank you. Thank you, god speed. Covid19s risk what expectant mothers, need to know now, stay with us. Think about how youll get there. And now that you can lease or buy a new lincoln remotely or in person. Discovering that feeling has never been more effortless. The lincoln summer invitation sales event is here. Maria welcome back, a fear for any expecting parent becoming reality first confirmed case of an infant contracting coronavirus in the womb doctors say the babys brain shows signs every inflammation by covid19 into the babys bloodstream mr. Mike varshavski thank you for being here should pregnant women be concerned. Good morning thank you so much for having me on i think this was important story, because something weve anticipated a long time think whether or not a pregnant mother can actual give the virus u. S. If she is infected to baby in utero this is first evidence that had this can happen. The because this child was born right away with testing positive for covid19 signs of inflation not only in childs brain but unless the placenta this can happen we need to say clearly lead author reassured pregnant mothers that is rare instance, generally speaking should be no damage to the child, to the newborn baby, and not something they should be concerning themselves with, this strictly for future research. Should pregnant women be doing anything differently. They should be doing everything they can to keep safe from this virus i think, a big role is for us as doctors, and hospitals keep protecting women safe testing everyone around them ruling out cases of covid 19, not contributing spread of this virus. Have okay, good, dr. Mik here is a new study finding a link, between hpv and prostate cavernous what is your take. So hpv a human papilloma, substrains can cause Cervical Cancer in women we have definitive proof of that at the same time a vaccine for the virus amazing because that essential translates to vaccine for cancers we give to known decrease spread of of hpv causing Cervical Cancer benefits to help men out with warts things like that if we find evidence hpv can contribute to Prostate Cancer that is mega win this will also serve as to evidence show us, that the hpv vaccine can also reduce cancer risk in men, this study is new. This is a preliminary study so we do not have one hundred percent evidence saying this has happened. But if it does it is going to be a gamechanger. This is what mike was talking about a couple weeks ago looking at why men were contracting the virus more he found a way, for a drug, to stop it from entering the lungs, we keep watching that important story then there is this dr. Mik could a weak handshake be a warning sign of a potentially fatal condition . Yeah, maria this is one of these stories that i feel tab ploy tabloid got ahold of use a meter to see how strong grip strength of patients were those were weaker grips correlated with patients having nonalcoholic Fatty Liver Disease individuals are generally obese hi cholesterol levels develop fatty tissue within liver can progress to more series illnesses this is strictly correlation at this point we see some sort of tiein to this but if i am looking at this on practical level maria i have plenty of patients weak grip strength from many other reasons so i wouldnt jump to conclusions just yet. All right good advice dr. Mik great to see you, talk with you thanks for answering questions for viewers, dr. Maria welcome back, face masks in public, best buy latest to require all customers to cover faces while shopping as coronavirus cases spike across the country, masks are already required at starbucks, apple, costco at t Dollar Tree Stores even if not required by state law pch mitch what do you think . I think a great idea i think you are going to expect more and more of this in Retail Establishment and public indoor places enforcement is challenge we have people pushing back we need business open if cost of doing it for health and safety, i am all for it. Maria yeah i mean not a law in new york but jackie these stores can control what happens within their stores. Absolutely, and in new york city a lot of people are wearing not only masks on street but they certainly wear them walk into yield curve a store maria i do it too generally i dont like summon mandating something to me this is about sort of social decency taking care of each otherable being able to go into a store have needs met a wonderful thing after lockdown most people abiding by it now and then a case in costco someone not doing it confronted it causes a larger problem. Joe, people dont like it if there is a rule to wear it and you are not wearing it, it as jackie says not just about yourself it is about the people around you. Exactly right, gallup had a poll 27 always very often wear masks when they leave homes we have seen an indoor contagion clearly cruise ships subways Nursing Homes prisons, so this spreads easier inside than outside if in a business would mandate that people wear a mask while coming into my business, as you said, it is the decent thing to do a short break when we come back final thoughts from this allstar panel more mornings with maria live on fox business right after this. We are seeing modernity make some progress as far as 45 out of 45 patients are reacting well to their vaccine and they go to a trial for 30000 people. If they can get this done and say we got this thing nailed down before election day, that can change everything as far as whether joe biden or donald trump is your president. Maria i agree with you. Jackie deangelis. Im watching the market closely and hoping its not getting ahead on optimism over the vaccine and earnings as well, we need to monitor these things closely and weve seen a bad headline. Slow and steady. Back to you. Maria mitch . Building on what jackie said, i hope we get some guidance from companies in the First Quarter they threw their hands up and said we cannot but im hoping as part of the Earnings Report we get guidance because that will help the market better going forward.
