Launching that service here in the u. S. Later this month. We are staying at home and we want our groceries and other purchases delivered and quickly. And we are on that story throughout the program today. As for the overall market, dead flat following a selloff on tuesday but keep in mind the dow and s p are up 40 from their march lows and the nasdaq is up 50 since then. Pretty impressive. President trump says he will pressure governors to reopen schools in the fall. This is a major step in getting the economy back on track. Kids go back to school, parents can then go back to work. That, of course, will be an issue for sure in the election, where joe biden has the lead in all of the polls, if you believe them, and even some wall street firms are apparently preparing for a biden win. But we have a democrat pollster coming up in a few minutes who says the race is a lot closer than the polls would indicate. Just wait until you hear what congresswoman ilhan omar wants to do to the economy. The big three hours ahead as always. Im Ashley Webster in this week for stuart. Varney Company Begins right now. As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will capitulate with inequality so we cannot stop at criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it. Ashley yep. You heard it. Congresswoman ilhan omar says dismantle the economy because its oppressive. You know Charles Payne will have something to say about that. He is chomping at the bit, i am sure, and he is coming up later in the show. But we begin with what we are calling the clash of the titans. Walmart going after amazon and grocery delivery right at the center of it all. Lauren simonetti joins us this morning. Lauren, this is a big move from walmart. Lauren good morning. It sure is. Amazon prime meets walmart plus. Walmart is now building on yesterdays 7 gain, its up another 1 , after that report that its launching its own version of amazon prime this month for 98 a year, less than amazons 119 charge. It would provide sameday delivery for groceries which is something walmart already does, but it apparently wants to build on that. Throw in some other perks like discounts on gas, thats something amazon cannot do. Bottom line, this is what you mentioned, the pandemic accelerated what we want and how we get it, making delivery a musthave for many. Walmart cant compete with amazon on all things, specifically digital. Walmart sold its voodoo streaming service to comcast in april. It apparently wasnt working for them. Ashley interesting, though. Big development. Lauren, thank you very much. Uber, believe it or not, also getting into the grocery game. Susan li, good morning to you. Come on in. The question is, can uber compete . Susan thats a good question. They bought corner shop last year so uber now launching grocery delivery in canada and latin america, also available right here in the u. S. Later on this month. Corner shop will be available on ubers main app where you ride hail and also uber eats but when it launches it will also be included in uber Subscription Service so we are talking about rider passre der er nd a uber confirming that its buying up postmates for 2. 65 billion but is scrambling, uber is scrambling to expand its food delivery options as its Main Business of ride hailing is really struggling to recover, still down some 70 in may at last count. As you mentioned, its a crowded delivery field. We just talked about walmart. Amazon is a giant in the sfpace. Kroger, instacart, those are the main players in grocery delivery. Interesting to see how uber competes. It does have 100 million users on its platform. Thats some strength they are coming to the table with. Ashley its quite a battle setting up. Susan, thank you very much. To talk more about this, lets bring in market watcher shah gilani. Shah, it seems like food delivery is the next, well, lets call it frontier, right . It certainly is. This is a big deal for walmart. Theres a tremendous job chasing amazon for the most part and keeping up, and sometimes amazon has to play catchup to walmart. Terrific news for walmart investors. The stock will be stronger because of it. It will continue to be strong. Its been terrific. So is amazon, obviously. But the business is tough. Theres very little margin in the delivery business. Uber paying 2. 65 billion for postmates was a bargain relative to the fact that door dash, the number one Delivery Company in the states which is private, filed privately for an ipo in february. It was valued at 12. 7 billion last year, and lost 450 million. Its a tough space to gain traction in, but it makes sense certainly for walmart and amazon. Ashley youre right, small margins. Shah, stay right there, if you will. I want to move on quickly to this story. Disney world in florida is scheduled to reopen this weekend and lauren, it appears the show will go on as planned, right . Lauren the magic will happen. Disney will open the magic and Animal Kingdom in orlando this saturday which is the 11th of july, as they said originally. Epcot and Hollywood Studios will open july 15th. This is happening despite a rise in virus infections in the state of florida, where more than 213,000 people have tested positive as of this morning out of 2. 3 million tests in the state. Now, disneys chief medical officer says advanced reservations, limited attendance, physical barriers, temperature checks, required face masks and a deep park cleaning every night will help to ensure a safe experience but look at these pictures. To go even further, they are putting up plexiglass barriers on the jungle cruise, the safari trucks and other attractions throughout the parks. Disney is doing everything that disney can do but the airlines have to help out and the hotels, to keep everything safe so you can get the tourists to go to orlando. Ashley just gives you an idea how difficult it is to start doing business again. Certainly not business as usual. Lauren, thank you very much. Lets talk about tesla, why dont we. As we said yesterday, simply on a tear. This could be, you could argue, the stock of the year. Susan, they just keep hitting high after high. Susan so fifth straight record, relentless, 223 rally since the march bottom and teslas market cap now at 258 billion. That makes tesla bigger than 97 of all s p 500 companies. Now, the rally has killed a lot of the tesla nonbelievers. Even barclays and Morgan Stanley capitulated yesterday, saying the stock might be overvalued but theres nothing stopping tesla from going even higher from these levels. Morgan stanley, in fact, put a bull cape target of 270 on the stock. Also more bullish, the news this morning coming from china and according to chinese data, teslas model 3 sales in china went up 35 in june from may. We saw may, those tesla sales tripling from april. You see theres a sequential recovery taking place there. China is really a big reason the stock has rallied so much this year, thats despite fremont, the only u. S. Car plant for tesla, being closed for most of the second quarter. They overdelivered 91,000 cars in the quarter, much more than anticipated and why Analysts Expect a fourth straight quarter of profit for tesla which means they will likely be included in the s p 500 and yes, that also means index funds need to buy the stock so the price goes higher. Ashley pretty darned impressive, to say the least. The numbers are backing it up. You are absolutely right. Lets bring back in shah gilani to talk about tesla. Shah, what do you say, you buying into the hype . You cant save the hype. Anybody who tried to short that believing it was overpriced anywhere along the line for the last several years has just had it handed to them. Hats off to elon musk, hats off to the company. The cars are fantastic. Theres no reason the stock cant go higher because investors believe in the tesla story. Yeah, i think its got actually higher to go. The 2,000 plus mark is a bit of a stretch but certainly its got a lot higher to go from here. Ashley yeah. Hard to bet against it. If you try and short it you will get a pair of red satin shorts in the mail for your trouble. Shah, thank you very much. Thank you very much. Next one, we got the latest read on Mortgage Applications. Lauren, looks like more good news for the housing market. Lauren its sizzling. Another 5 increase for Mortgage Applications last week. They are now 33 higher than last year. The virus and the violence pushing people to change how and where they live and low rates, look, thats just helping people to afford their move. The Mortgage Bankers association also says applications to refinance, they are up 111 from last year. Rates have been so low for so long that the benefits from a refi are starting to dwindle a little bit. You cant save that much since rates have been so low. Ashley thats very true. I like the word sizzling. Really sums it up on this wednesday. Thank you very much. Lauren im starting to sweat, ash. Ashley no sweating. Lets check the futures. Not exactly sizzling, but after yesterdays selloff, we see more green essentially flat on the dow, the s p and the nasdaq up. 33 heading into the open which is now just about 20 minutes away. President trump taking aim at harvards reopening plan that includes strictly online classes while still demanding the students pay nearly 50,000 in tuition. I see where harvard announced that theyre closing for the season or for the year, i think its ridiculous. I think its an easy way out. I think they ought to be ashamed of themselves. Ashley that attack coming as the president is pushing to reopen schools across the country. We are on that story. We will be debating it. Meantime, in florida, cases are on the rise and cities like miami are rolling back reopening plans. So question is, how do you stop the spread of the virus . The mayor of miami will join us to discuss. Investors are starting to ask what if joe biden wins in november . We did the digging for you and we will show you what it could mean for your money. We are also talking to a pollster who says the race is a lot closer than you think. Thats next. Looks like they picked the wrong getaway driver. Theyre going to be paying for this for a long time. They will, but with accident forgiveness allstate wont raise your rates just because of an accident, even if its your fault. Cut sonny. Was that good . Line the desert never lies. Can you imagine, were coming out of this pandemic and yeah, we see a very strong second half this year, probably 20 , which is great, but what about 2021 and 2022 . What are businesses going to do, going to stop investing . I think its a huge danger to the stock market but perhaps more important for all of america, for the Blue Collar Workers who have done so well, at least up until the pandemic, this is a job killer. Ashley all right. That was larry kudlow on fox news just in the last hour talking about the impact of a joe Biden Victory on the market. Lauren, come back on in. Where would we see the biggest Financial Impact if indeed joe biden became president . Lauren well, higher tax rates means job cuts in many instances. Rbc capital markets, they say a Biden Victory, hes already said he would raise the Corporate Tax rate to 28 , its now at 21 . It would be the highest in the developed world. That would be particularly bad for retail. Many companies, i forgot this, i had to look all this back up, they returned their tax breaks savings to workers, higher wages, better benefits, and thats why rbc is predicting a biden win could spell job cuts at some of these Stores Including lowes, walmart as well as best buy because after you have given someone a raise, you cant necessarily take it back and cut their pay. You could, but they might lose their job or some of their hours instead. Ashley all right. Thats pretty clear. Lauren, thank you very much. Lets bring in now our good friend doug schoen, former bloomberg and clinton pollster. This is interesting. You say all of those polls that say mr. Biden is ahead are not telling the true story of the race. What dum . What do you mean . Biden is ahead. Hes not ahead double digits. The swing states which will make the difference, biden is ahead by an average of about six points which is very different from 10, 11, 12 and even 14 points in some of the public polls. Its a lot closer than the commentators are saying. Ashley we have been down this road before. If you go back to 2016, hillary would be Hillary Clinton would be president and brexit would have never happened, right . Thats exactly right. A number of the people supporting biden now are independentleaning republicans and republicans who i expect will come back to trump as the election approaches, partisanship gets stronger and we start surveying those that are going to actually vote rather than just registered voters. Ashley im assuming this is all about the battleground states, right . Absolutely. If you go through the realclear politics averages and you look at florida, wisconsin, pennsylvania, arizona, you see plus 5, plus 6, you dont see anything thats really out of line except maybe one or two outlier polls but ashley, this race is very very close. The democrats know it. The one who seems not to really appreciate it is donald trump and the republicans. I think they panicked for reasons that go beyond the data. Ashley let me ask you this. Put you on the spot. Who does win in november, in your opinion . I think its going to be very close. Right now, there is an advantage for joe biden. I think thats clear. Its a narrow advantage. But as we saw in 2016, if the swing states move in the direction of the president , its still possible that he could lose the popular vote and win the electoral vote with the swing states. Right now, slight advantage to biden but ultimately, im not making any final predictions today. Ashley how critical is it that the choice for joe bidens running mate, could that tip the difference . I think thats very important, ashley, because joe biden is i believe 78. Any Vice President has to be ready to serve as president from day one. I think he needs to pick a wellqualified running mate. It will almost certainly be a woman. I think Kamala Harris is the most likely candidate he will choose as we sit here now. Ashley its all going to be fascinating. We love covering it. We are just about four months away so we will get answers fairly soon. As always, thanks for joining us today. We really appreciate it. All right. The president just tweeting about schools, by the way. Here is that tweet. He says in germany, denmark, norway, sweden and many other countries, schools are open with no problem. The dems think it would be bad for them politically if u. S. Schools open before the november election. But is important for children and families. May cut off funding if not open. There you go. The president doubling down on his desire for kids to get back to school. Reopen the schools for the fall. All right. Lets change the discussion. Lets get to facebook. Susan li, that meeting that mr. Zuckerberg had with civil Rights Groups didnt go so well, right . Susan disappointing, according to the civil Rights Groups in attendance, the naacp, the antidefamation league, the color of change, the free press, all four groups in attendance meeting with zuckerberg, Sheryl Sandberg, the c. O. O. And other executives. Heres a statement from the group afterwards saying that facebook approached our meeting today like it was nothing more than a p. R. Exercise, according to them, but boycott Coalition Leaders and advertisers understand the stop hate for profit effort is about lives, safety and freedom of our communities and they say there was nothing actionable that came out of it. More than 1,000 companies have paused advertising on facebook sparked by this stop hate for Profit Movement and they say facebook is a platform that proliferates hate speech, violence and misinformation. This morning we have facebook releasing its findings from their twoyear internal civil rights audit, Sheryl Sandberg posting in on facebook, saying theres still a long way to go for facebook. Some changes might include hiring a civil rights leader to help facebook decipher future content, also facebook needs to improve voter suppression. Take a look at the stock, it hit record highs this week so despite the advertiser boycott, theres been no impact on the business really, at least thats the takeaway from investors if you take a look at their shares. Ashley it just continues to roll on. All right, thank you very much. Taking a quick look at the futures just before we get things open on wall street. A modest, i say modest gain for the dow, up 41 points. S p and nasdaq also in the green. Well be back with the opening bell next. Introducing stocks by the slice from fidelity. Now you can trade stocks and etfs for any amount you choose instead of buying by the share. All with no commissions. Stocks by the slice from fidelity. Get your slice today. When this crisis ise dongoing to be over and we dont know exactly when the stock market will reach its bottom, weve got to be prepared for this to last a long time. If you assume that youre out of work for nine months but you end up only being out of work for. As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will capitulate with inequality. So we cannot stop at criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it. Ashley kind of from the marxist playbook. Thats one more time, congresswoman ilhan omar slamming the current Economic System in the United States. Lets bring in economist john lonski. John, your reaction to that . Well, shes presenting a pretty tall order for radical change, thats for sure. We have to remember that World History shows that profitability has served as a very good type of driver behind economic activity. Its responsible for improving, greatly improving the Living Standards of millions upon millions of people, countries that decided to use some other type of indicator for the purpose of judging economic success didnt do too well, namely the soviet union. Ashley yeah. Absolutely true. All right. Lets talk about things more positive, if we can. Mortgage applications, up again, john. Are we seeing the start of a real estate boom, do you think . Real estate is going to do very well over the near term, thanks in large part to ultralow mortgage yields and perhaps a desire on the part of individuals to emphasize the quality of their life at home more so than in the past because of covid19. Home buyer Mortgage Applications, the latest week, the highest weekly reading since the methodology was changed back in 2011. Home buyer Mortgage Apps up 18 from a year ago. By the way, lumber prices, lumber futures contracts, are up 18 today. I think were going to look at a very healthy, likely recovery by housing activity with positive benefits over time for the entire economy. Ashley thats more like it, john lonski. Thank you very much. Yeah, the Economic Data has shown a lot of resilience. Perhaps the economy coming up or coming back a lot more stronger than people thought. All right. The bell is aringing on wall street, on the nasdaq. Time to get another session under way. We had a bit of a selloff on the dow yesterday, lost 397 points in yesterdays session. Oh, by the way, it gained 450 on monday so glass half full. We are still up on the plus side for the week on the dow. We are seeing more green than red right off the bat. We are up 62, 60 points or so on the dow, as you can see. Caterpillar, apple, microsoft on the top line. American express, dow company travelers down at the bottom but overall, we are positive which is a good thing. Lets take a look at the s p if we may. The s p up modestly,. 33 . Very early on, 3155, up another 10 points. As for the nasdaq, it hit another intraday high yesterday before selling off late in the day. The nasdaq up again, 64 points, up. 6 at 10,408 on the nasdaq composite. Big tech rolls on. We are also showing you some of the big delivery names, big story. Walmart, amazon and uber, there they are, they are all in the green. Walmart is rolling out its amazon prime buster later this month called walmart plus. We just heard uber is now also getting into the grocery delivery business. As you can see, all the stocks higher anywhere from. 5 to. 8 . Next, disney. We know they are Going Forward with plans to reopen their disney world parks in florida this weekend. Albeit with safety precautions, of course. The stock, though, just slightly down,. 25 at 113 for disney. Oh, yeah, got to do it. Lets see where tesla is at this morning. Yes, its off and running again. Hitting its way higher. The electric Vehicle Company up 25, 26 points at 1415 per share for tesla. Good for close to 2 gain. Lets check walgreens. They are buying village md for 1 billion. That is according to reports this morning. I guess, lauren, what it is, they want to put doctors in walgreens stores, right . Lauren thats exactly what it is. The doctors are going to the walgreens nine exam rooms in each clinic, if you will. The dow component walgreens, you can see is up 1. 6 . They are paying village md 1 billion to do that, to open as many as 700 primary care clinics that are staffed by real life physicians inside the stores. This is going to happen over five years in 30 different markets. Its all part of creating the pharmacy of the future. We saw this with cvs and the minute clinics and health hubs. Also walmart, to a certain extent. Walgreens is taking this a step further with the real doctors so i guess you go in, you see your doc, you fill your prescription, you get your candy and shampoo and leave all in one. Ashley its onestop shopping. It makes perfect sense. Big move for walgreens, though. All right, lauren. A big tech winner we dont talk a lot about, nvidia. We kind of talk about it in passing. Its a chip maker. Susan, they just got a big upgrade from bank of america. Susan raising price targets now to 460 so thats roughly 16 from these current levels. Again, another stock just like tesla thats been on a tear so far this year, up over 67 , now pushing closer to 70 this morning with this rally. Its a chip maker that specializes in these sophisticated graphic chips that are used in gaming, display, crypto mining. It makes up the majority of their sales. But its also a big player when it comes to making chips for smartphones, selfdriving data centers and artificial intelligence. The fact its their Fastest Growing division right now. You can imagine this is a company for the future given all those hot industries that they are in. Take a look at their list of clientele and i tracked them because theyre the biggest of the big in technology. Apple, microsoft, alphabet, ibm. Nvidia we know is a volatile stock, its been around since 1999 and has had several boom bust cycles over those 21 years, including a drop of 50 in just one month back in 2018. Ashley impressive. Big client names indeed. Susan, tell us about nikola, tesla competitor. Susan i love talking about this company. It reminds a lot of people of tesla. No sales, no cars delivered so far, but this morning, it looks like maybe morgan is getting more bullish on the stock. They have raised their price target now to 45 which is where were at. It was, you know, its been on a bit of a decline in recent days. In fact, it had a fiveday losing streak where the Stock Plunged around 40 but since its ipo, the stock rocketed more than fivefold in just three months time and people are questioning this, since this is a company that, you know, display a lot of great truck models but no one has actually received one just yet. I think the selling point for nikola is we have 10 billion in orders on the books right now, you know, those who have put down deposits but i think its a proveme kind of stock, dont you think . Ashley i think so. As you say, like tesla in the early days. Makes me laugh, though. No sales, no cars, no problem for nikola corporation. Lauren, this is interesting. Only six stocks on the dow are positive this year. I find that interesting. Who are the top winners . Lauren the top two are the tech companies, microsoft is up 32 this year, apple is up 27 this year. Home depot is up 14 this year. I was shocked by this. Walmart is now higher by about 7 on the year but that is only because of the surge yesterday on that report they are starting the food delivery, amazon prime competitor service. Also, United Health up a bit on the year. The losers, there are a lot but the biggest ones, boeing, exxonmobil, raytheon, as well as jpmorgan chase. They are all down 30 plus this year. Ashley wow. Yeah. Not surprised about boeing. Lauren, thank you. Thanks for doing that homework. Quick check of the big board, why dont we, as we just get under way. Still holding on to a instasmal gain, up about. 25 on the dow, just under 26,000, 25,962. Lets take a look at the tenyear treasury yield. Thats been down in that. 6 range. Its up just nearly two basis points. The tenyear treasury yield down at 0. 664 . All right. Take a look at gold. Above 1800 level. That is yes, it is. Up another 15 bucks today for another 1 gain. That, by the way, is a nineyear high for gold. Meanwhile, lets take a look at oil. Continues to stay right around that 40 a barrel mark. There it is, essentially flat today. Crude at 40. 67. Lets talk about Movie Theaters, in particular amc. That Movie Theater chain. Lauren, it looks like bankruptcy which was talked about is not in their future after all. Lauren investors are breathing a sigh of relief. The stock is up 5 right now. So its a complicated deal but as the wall street journal reports, amc which is the largest theater chain, are closing in on a restructuring deal that would stave off bankruptcy. They will take a 200 million lifeline from Silver Lake Group plus another 200 million in financing from some junior bond holders. Amc has already warned of a loss of about 2. 5 billion. They do not plan to reopen until july 30th. I think the question for everybody remains, can you imagine not having Movie Theaters anymore . I cant. I just dont know how you keep paying your bills when you are closed and you dont have customers coming in paying tickets. Ashley yeah. People are wary to sit close to someone else in a theater right now. That is the problem. Its getting that confidence back. Lauren, thank you very much. Thank you, everybody. The markets are moving just slightly higher, although, you know, we are gaining a little bit of momentum. The dow up now 100 points, triple digit gain, getting back close again on the dow to 26,000. A live look at capitol hill, if we can. Economists say congress could create an Economic Disaster this summer because of Election Year politics. Im sure Charles Payne will be fired up all about that. He joins me in our 11 00 hour with his reaction. Gym owners across the country are begging their states leaders to let them reopen. Coming up, the ceo of mountainside fitness in arizona will join me to share his story and yes, we have said this this morning, it is the clash of the titans. Walmart and amazon. What does this mean for the future of delivery . We will tackle it next. As a caricature artist, i appreciate what makes each person unique. Thats why i like liberty mutual. They get that no two people are alike and customize your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need. Almost done. What do you think . I dont see it. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. What do you look for when i want free access to research. Yep, td ameritrades got that. Free access to every platform. Mhm, yeah, that too. I dont want any trade minimums. Yeah, i totally agree, they dont have any of those. I want to know what im paying upfront. Yes, absolutely. Do you just say yes to everything . Hm. Well i say no to kale. Mm. Yeah, they say if you blanch it its better, but that seems like a lot of work. Now offering zero commissions on online trades. We charge you less so you have more to invest. Ashley lets take a look at jean company levi strauss. They are planning to lay off 15 of its corporate work force. Their sales, by the way, plummeting 62 during the second quarter. That stock down nearly 7 today. Levi, just under 13 bucks a share. Lets check the retail giants, walmart and amazon. This month, walmart is launching its own program to compete with amazon prime, called walmart plus. Lets bring in jeff flock, who is at an amazon store in illinois. Jeff, this rivalry is really heating up. Reporter the clash of the titans. I thought it would be interesting to show you what an Amazon Grocery store is going to look like. This opens i think in september in a former babiesrus store. Hope they have better luck with amazon than babiesrus. But its amazon getting into walmarts brick and mortar space and now its walmart getting into amazons online space. Take a look at walmart plus, what it offers. Its cheaper than amazon prime, 98. You get sameday grocery delivery and sameday delivery on a lot of stuff. Something that amazon prime does not offer, thats a discount on gas at amazon gas stations. Thats a positive. And early access to deals which you get on prime, too. Prime is 119 a year. Of course, its been around 15 years and have consequently 150 million members. Also express delivery and the video as well. There is speculation that walmart may get into video and offer that free as well as part of the membership. You talk about clash of the titans. You know, its funny, i didnt realize this. I dont follow it all the time but if you look at the market cap, amazon versus walmart, i was surprised. Amazon, 1. 5 trillion. You know, do you know how many zeros there are in a trillion . I counted. Theres 12. Walmart is about a third the size at 359, a paltry 359 billion. What do you know . Ashley is that all . Wow. Always going above and beyond, jeff flock, doing his homework, doing his math. Thank you so much, jeff flock. Lets stay on this, if we can, and bring in gerald storch, former ceo of toys r us and hudsons bay company. Gerald, lets begin with this story. Can walmart successfully challenge amazon prime . What do you say . Well, this is godzilla versus king kong. This is the battle of the century in retailing and you can watch it play out right now. Walmart is the leader in store by a lot. Amazon is never going to catch the number of bricks and mortar. They bought whole foods and it really wasnt the right Grocery Store if they are going for market share. Walmarts food assortment is much more attractive to the vast majority of americans. Amazon of course, by a huge margin, eight to ten times, is the leader online. So you have the bricks and mortar retailer leader against the online leader. I think it will be a heck of a battle. Walmart posted really fantastic growth online, but if you look underneath the covers, walmarts growth online has been groceries. They cannot keep up with amazon outside of grocery. Their service is much worse, delivery times are longer and what they are fulfilling even under this walmart plus is only whats in the store. Whereas amazon has all that merchandise, they can give you the next day. So grocery, yes. Walmart is dominant now and i think this is only going to increase their lead even over amazon. Ashley interesting. So but gerald, is there room for anyone else in this space, or are these two titans going to just dominate . Well, i think they are clearly the leaders. Everyone else are like lilliputians fighting it out. Theres costco, they are doing great. Again, they only have a limited sku count. You cant get everything you want at costco. Tj maxx with apparel, they are doing fantastic. You heard about uber launching their delivery service. They will need to get the groceries somewhere, though. They will get those from walmart. They may be successful just in delivery service, not primary grocery. There is room for other people but the air is rapidly being sucked out of the room for other retailers as you see in all the bankruptcies. Ashley quickly on this one, gerald. I want you to look [ inaudible ] they own groups like anne taylor. They are preparing to file for bankruptcy and will be closing, we understand, at least 1200 stores, maybe as soon as this week. They blame the pandemic, we can ask you, the virus is changing the retail scene, we know it is, or is it basically speeding up the demise of brick and mortar . Ashley lot of cracks in that drainedout pool as you say. Gerald storch, as always, great stuff. Really appreciate your time. Thank you so much for joining us. All right. Lets take a look at the price of amazon, up another nearly 38 bucks at 3,037 per share. Do you want to buy it but dont have that much cash . Well, guess what . Using the stash app, you can actually buy a piece of stock without shelling out for the full price. Lets bring in brandon krieg, cofounder and ceo of stash. I guess what youre saying is you can buy fractions of shares, right . Yeah. So with stash, you cannot only buy fractions of shares, we have dropped our minimum to one penny. Because we want every american to be able to start investing, saving and banking but you could also, i was listening just now to the conversation you were having just before. Not only can you go on stash and buy amazon, but also, if you bank with stash, every time you swipe your debit card on amazon, we make you a shareholder through something we call stock back. The goal of all this is really to help people invest for the long term, become owners in brands that they love or spend a lot of money at, but also at the same time, get Financial Advice and education which is really important. Ashley it is indeed. Now, during the pandemic and the lockdown, have you seen a rise in customers . Yeah. We have seen just, we already have over five million customers. We have seen a pretty incredible increase in the amount of customers we have and also, the activity that our customers are doing. We teach our customers and tell our customers that they dont come to stash to actively day trade, but come to stash to build really positive habits. One of those habits is for our customers to do something called auto stash, which is to set up recurring investing every week and we are seeing hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people have turned on auto stash to say if i like amazon, im not going to buy it once but i will buy it every week consistently for say the next 10, 20 years which is a good habit that people are building. Ashley it is. Talking of amazon very quickly, brandon, what are the most popular stocks . You know, the popular stocks really represent like the stock market as a whole. You can invest in any stock on stash and also a whole bunch of etfs. I would say the most popular Investment Funds are really the diversified etfs people are buying, dividend payers and wellrounded global etfs but then on the stock side, it really does look like the top stocks you typically see, amazon, energy companies, walmart, pizza companies. Over a million Bank Customers are literally getting stock every time they spend. So if you go to walmart it is so wild. Ashley its a great concept. It really is. We are running out of time. Thank you so much for joining us today. The app is stash. Brandon krieg, cofounder and ceo. Harvard says all of their classes will be taught online and students, though, will still have to pay a nearly 50,000 tuition. You bet there is a lot of backlash over that. We will get into it. Also, still to come on our show, brian brenberg, does he think the market is worried about the virus . Lisa booth on the effort to reopen the economy. Here is where things stand right now. Nasdaq is continuing roll ol up 121 points. Lack a moderna. Completed phase two trial for covid19. Phase three study expected to begin this month. That piece of news could be giving markets nice news. Disney planning to go ahead with plans to reopen disney parks in florida this weekend. That stock moving higher barely. Check tesla. That stock continues to be on a tear, still in the positive, just under 1400 bucks a share after hitting another high earlier. Also happening at this hour we should point out secretary of state mike pompeo holding a briefing where he is expected to address security threats from china and iran. Of course we will bring you any breaking headlines from that News Conference. But first, lets take a look at this. Despite the rise in covid19 cases around the country the death rate is falling. Lets bring in brian brenberg, the Kings College prof. Brian, this why the market is not selling off . Investors are doing at the homework. They look at the numbers, they are not perhaps as nervous as others . There is this expectation out there, ashley, investors are supposed to be panicking now because case counts are going up. The situation is much more complex. Panic i dont think is the right response. Investors are looking at all the detail. Theyre looking at case counts. Looking at the fact younger people are getting this more and more. That makes a difference how the hospitalizations play out, what the mortality rate is. It is appropriate for investors, frankly appropriate for everybody to be paying attention to the whole picture because overreaction has its costs. Weve seen that. Frankly i just dont think the american public, i dont think american businesses are willing to go through anything that looks like an overreaction because it is so devastates on local communities. Ashley i think the Economic Data weve seen is pointing to a stronger economy now than some belief. I want to move on to this issue if we can. President trump weighing in on harvards decision to keep charging full tuition for online classes. Roll that typal tape. I see that where harvard announced theyre closing for the season or for the year. I think it is ridiculous. That is an easy way out. They ought to be ashamed of themselves you want to know the truth. I noticed that today, and probably others are doing that. That is called the easy way out. Ashley the easy way out. Brian, harvard costs 50 grand a year. Youre a college professor. Do you think students should really pay that much for an Online Education . Well you know students should only be paying education there is value for. The fact Higher Education today that is a question mark even before covid. At Kings College were working flu this really hard. Our priority is to get students back on campus as much as possible. Were in new york city. Thats tough. We have to contend with a mayor and governor who can be very hard to predict. The fact it matters when students are together. We know it will have to look different right now. Harvard has luxury of doing this. They have a 30, 40 billiondollar endowment. They can do whatever they want. With schools without the resources. We have to deliver value to students. Part of that is getting people back on on campus learning together, grow academically, personally, professionally. That is important. Ashley i have 30 seconds, brian. Minneapolis still reeling after the george floyd riots. Look at the headline from the wall street journal oped. Riottorn twin cities are already forgotten. Black lives matter signs everywhere but minority businesses bearing the brunt of violence. Brian, youre a minnesota guy. What do you say about this . What i say about this is this. A lot of us pointed out during these riots that the property damage, the destruction was going to matter to peoples livelihoods. It matters in terms of justice. That have you denigrated in the media. Were seeing the fallout. Most Vulnerable People in the communities cant get basic needs. Businesses have been destroyed. Their hope is destroyed because their property has been destroyed. A shame that the media is not covering this. I love the wall street journal is getting on it. More people need to get on it. Ashley we love it. Thank you, brian brenberg. Thanks for being here. You bet, ashley. Ashley were seeing a rise in virus cases around the country especially in texas florida, arizona. Susan, can you give us a record of the hot spots . Susan as you mentioned. Texas jumped more than 10,000 confirmed covid cases in one day. That makes states total 210,000, 127 deaths. This comes after Governor Abbott issued an executive order friday mandating all bars implement new Safety Measures pretty much reversing earlier opening orders for texas state. New york, california, florida, recorded more than 10,000 cases in one single day. You see florida on the screen. 7300 cases on tuesday. Reports say icu beds are at max capacity at several, if not most hospitals in the state. 84 of state icu beds full now. Miami also pausings on the reopening in florida. Arizona is the other hot spot. 3600 cases. Arizona recording highest rate of infection by the way across america. Meaning 25 of people who were tested for coronavirus actually come up positive. 90 of icu beds in Arizona State occupied. So those are some pretty serious numbers that were looking at. Ashley yes. Indeed. Susan, thank you very much. Despite the rise of cases President Trump hayessays we are moving forward. Roll that type. Now its time to be open. Its time to stay open and we will put out the fires as they come up but we have to open our schools. It is so important to open schools. So that is where we are. Were not closing. Well never close. Ashley we will never close. Lets bring in lisa booth. Lisa, great to see you. Do you agree with the president . Yeah, of course, but the challenge is that it is not up to him. It is going to be up to so many of these governors across the country and you see places like california, new york, that have instituted, you know more severe lockdown policies over the past few months. So that is the challenge. Ashley, i think when we all look back on this, what well end up fighting is that the experts failed us. These Public Health officials failed us, or politicians failed us. If you look at the fact that the fatality rate 70 and under is equivalent or equal to the flu or less than. Look at people around the age of 45 or younger, it is closer to zero percent. When you actually look at these numbers, i think well end up finding our politicians really failed us. Ashley lisa, i want to messenger this school issue. Its a big one. The president says we have to, you know, get these schools back open. Get kids out of the house, back to the classroom, because the psychological and education costs are so high. You agree with that effort . That the president is putting pressure on School Districts across the country to reopen their doors . Well of course, look how important that is going to be to fully reopening the economy. Further i dont understand why everyone seems surprised were capturing more cases. If you paid attention to any of the antibody studies that have been done, any serological studies in the past, were missing cases in the country, 10 to 85 fold. Weve always known weve been missing cases are mild or largely aye symptomatic cases because we were only testing the sick previously. As we increased testing capabilities, were testing more people, of course were going to find more cases and the good news, the majority of these cases, many of these cases are young people who have higher probability to surviving the coronavirus and actually arent going to have big issues with it. So the idea that everyone seems surprised were finding more cases in this country just defies logic. Ashley there you go. Good place to leave it. Lisa booth, thank you so much for joining us this morning. Thanks, ashley. Ashley thank you. It is a long delay. Samsung is gearing up to release its next major smartphone on august 5th. Lauren, do know know what its all about . What will we see . Lauren virtual unveil of the galaxy note 20 on august 5th. Leaked unvary fight image. That is a verified image. The color is kind of cool. Some of the images there is not much gee whiz in the camera aside from three cameras, four sensors. This launch is very important. Samsungs phone shipments fell 19 versus last year. Idc says all smartphone shipments are down with, the First Quarter seeing the largest plunge on record. One more thing, talking about gee whiz, i think this is it, remember the foldable phone . That is getting an upgrade, bigger screen. Might be a little bit more palatable for some people. Close your phone, put it in your pocket. Ashley hopefully it works. That is the main thing. Lauren and doesnt crack. Ashley exactly. It is cool though. Apple shares, up another 6 bucks at 379. Analysts are speculating what will be in the new iphone campus coulding this fall. Sues what is the word . Susan definitely 5g because were in the 5g super cycle. That is the pretty much consensus. They make their own bionic fast chips go into the parts. Sky works, supplies radio component of the iphones. Apple accounts for 50 of sky work sales. Qualcomm Internet Connectivity chips. They own a patent. They force their chips on to most of the smartphone makers in the world. Apple buys controllers from broadcom and synaptics. New launch of the iphones, the new igs at the will use highend oled screens. They usually reserve from the highend once. Where does apple get the screens. This is interesting dynamic. Buy them from samsung display. Interesting dynamic that apple and samsung are rivals but samsung is a supplier to apple. Apple speculation they may move away from samsung because of the competition, may turn to the chinese oled display makers that may produce cheaper screens. Samsung coming out with phones. A question when apple will do that for the 5g phones year but before the end of this year. Ashley all right. Will we buy them . I want 5g, thats for sure. All right, susan. Well see. Im sure they cost an arm and a leg. We told you about Patrick Mahomes record breaking half billion dollar deal with the chiefs. The man behind that deal is super agent leigh steinberg. A lot to talk about with him. What was his commission . I bet it was nice. Violent crime surging in new york city, 63 people shot, 11 of those killed just this holiday weekend, the nypd blaming new reforms. Roll that tape. Were here this afternoon on heels of one of the most violent weekends we had in recent history and one of the most violent junes we had in recent history. Starts with bail reform that began in january of this year. Goes on with the district attorneys reluctance to prosecute quality of life crimes. Some City Council Members dont want to deal with quality of life at all. Ashley that is putting it on the line. I am asking the president of Blue Lives Matter what can be done to get crime under control in our nations largest city. Meanwhile shake shack blaming recent protests and citywide curfews for millions in lost revenues. Well have details on that. The second hour of Varney Company just getting started. Just over a year ago, i was drowning in credit card debt. Sofi helped me pay off twentythree thousand dollars of credit card debt. They helped me consolidate all of that into one low monthly payment. They make you feel like its an honor for them to help you out. I went from sleepless nights to getting my money right. So thank you. So thank you. I geh. Common bird. E. Ooh look over here something much better. There it is. Peacock, included with xfinity x1. Remarkable. Fascinating. Very. It streams tons of your favorite shows and movies, plus the latest in sports news and. Huh run the newest streaming app has landed on xfinity x1. Now thats. Simple. Easy. Awesome. Xfinity x1 just got even better with peacock premium included at no additional cost. No strings attached. Just say peacock into your voice remote to start watching today. Ashley defund the police . What does that do for safety . People expect protection. And if theyre not going to get it they wont be enthusiastic working or living in a defunded city. At this moment in new york city an encampment outside of city hall is growing. The organizers demand a billion dollar cut in the police budget. There is already been a spike in crime in new york. Why come back here if the advantages of city life have drained away and you put your life and property at risk . Ashley yep. That was stuart talking about new york city and the rising crime and, yes, over the 4th of july weekend it got even worse. The nypd says 63 people were shot, 11 fatally from friday to sunday. Lets bring in joe imaptrice, Blue Lives Matter. Nypd blames reforms for the rise in crime. How does new york turn this around and get crime under control in this environment . I agree with the executives 100 combing out saying the fact what is is driving crime rates in new york city. Well need a complete overhaul of our political leaders. That is number one. When crime goes up, we saw in early 2000s, operation impact, putting foot patrol in high crime neighborhoods for high visibility, have officers to help the public. You also add Police Officers when crime goes up, you dont take things away. The units which help out with quality of life offenses. Plainclothes anticrime we heard so much about, go after the worse of the worse to take guns off the streets. Without that crime will continue to soar. Ashley i also read from the chief of the nypd, he made a point, people seem more embowlenned now who believe the cops cant do anything in the wake of the george floyd death. Youre seeing that kind of attitude, that animosity towards Police Officers. He is 100 . Bail reform, surprised this took seven months to happen. When you have bad guys on the streets, not talking about drugs or petty crimes, some do murder and manslaughter are on the street. When bad people are on the street theyre going to do bad things. Were beginning with bail reform, with transit offenses and people on the street. Especially vehicular manslaughter, theyre led out on the street, telling Police Officers while theyre underarrest i will be out tomorrow. Were seeing with all the riots, individuals telling people, you cant do anything to me. The signs. Youre a nobody. Putting officers down. Theyre not stupid. They see the writing on the wall. The politicians dont help. They go in front after podium. They spew hate. Dont stand behind police and give in to the mobs with a billion dollars coming out of the budget. Ashley we have to leave it there. It is short and sweet. Joe, you made your point loud and clear. We wish you the best of luck as crime is on the rise in new york city, no doubt. Joe, thank you very much for joining us today. Very quickly want to take a look at amazon hitting another high, 3065, up 65 bucks, another 2 gain for amazon. Also want you to take a look at shake shack. They say they lost a lot of money because of the protests. That stock moving higher but lauren, how much did they lose . Lauren 3. 2 million in june sales, ashley. They have blamed protests and curfews for closing some of their restaurants and cutting hours at others. They had to pay the workers for their normal shift obviously. That includes the 10 bonus that encouraged the workers to come in, fill orders placed during lockdown but shake shack has warned the recovery theyre see something slower than anticipated. Their challenges include not just the urban hot spots but what about the locations in sports arenas, airports . Those are ghost towns right now. The stock is getting a little bit of a boost today. But shares are down 16 this year, ashley. Ashley been a tough go for shake shack. Lauren, thank you very much. Want to check dunkin. They are closing 450 stores by the end of the year. That is according to reports. These are ones located inside of speedway gas stations right . Lauren this totally makes sense. Theyre closing 440 stores by the end of the year as you said. Theyre not the freestanding locations. Theyre in the speedway gas stations. That is important as dunkin drops the deal with owner of speedway which is hess. It helps the coffee chain boost its image. When you fill the gas tank you might walk in to get a vanilla cream doughnut and regular coffee. That is my order. But they have expensive i dont understand meat sandwiches. Exexpress so is 10 of sales. If youre stopping at speedway, youre not getting latte or beyond meat mack muffin or whatever it is. Youre getting the cheap doughnut and coffee. Ashley doing a Stuart Varney basically. Thank you very much, lauren. To a lockdown winner. I want to look at square. That is Digital Payment company. They hit alltime high this week. Still going strong. Susan, why do they keep riding higher . Susan speaking of is stu if he is on line banking, that means square will not quit. Look at rally today, up 4. 25 . The past five weeks trading sessions youre up over 30 . Youre up over 50 in the past month. A change in consumer behavior, covid means more people are more comfortable banking online. They prefer cashless payments. Dont want to stop what some see as dirty money. One 1 2 billion dollars of stimulus checks stored on it. They help merchants with Curbside Pickup and Online Retail delivery. Seems like this world has changed. People dont want to wait in line at banks anymore. Theyre going online instead. Ashley yeah. It is so much easier. As you say, even stu can do it. Susan, thank you very much. Food delivery drivers, they have been the Unsung Heroes of this pandemic. Delivering record amounts of meals to hungry americans. Former carls, jr. Ceo andy puzder says watch this space. Food delivery is only getting started. He will be here next hour. The Atlantic Coast pipeline called off after years of delays while the Dakota Access pipeline ordered to shut down by a federal judge. Here is what Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette said on this program. The decision by duke and dominion however is very disappointing because it is such a lot of opportunity. That is a lot of opportunity because of number of jobs that would have been created in places like west virginia, pennsylvania, ohio, virginia, and north carolina. The other lost open student here is Lower Energy Costs for all residents in north carolina. Ashley well the keystone xl also facing delays but our next guest says all of this will not hurt production. The u. S. Will remain energy dominant. He will lay out his case next. Ashley all right lets check the markets for you. The dow up 121 points, losing a little bit of air but still on the positive right at very close, just, get it to 26,000 . Didnt work this time. S p up 3161. Half a percent gain. There you go it worked. 26,000 on the dow. Nasdaq up 1 at 10,439. We have a fox business alert. Weekly Oil Inventories breaking right now. Susan, you have the numbers. Susan you live for it each and every week. Ashley it is not 10 30 yet, im sorry. Susan 3. 1 million, if we talk long enough they cross just in time. 10 30, there you go. What do we have . We were expecting a drawdown of 3. 1 million but we actually had an increase, a build here, surprising build, from what i see, if this is correct, the producers can reaffirm those numbers in my ear but up 5. 7 Million Barrels which is a build, a surprise build, actually. Not really that surprising if you look at the American Petroleum institute which reported a surprise inventory build of 2. 1 Million Barrels for the past week. That means were not using, driving as much. That is the implication at least for the markets. Ashley all right. Great job. Great job at tap dancing, susan li and a surprise build. Lets bring in daniel yergin, ihs market vicechair. Daniel, a build like that means demand is going down. Do you read much into it . Yes i do very much. We track at what is happening at gasoline stations every week. Our team is called opus. Were seeing a quite a big improvement. Gasoline demand was down almost 50 in april. It is now down about 18 . It was headed down further but it has been slowed by the fact of the resurgence of the virus. In particular states like california and texas, youre actually, youre note seeing that increase in gasoline. So people are not driving. It is stalled out while we deal with this shutdown. So, i will tell you, what has happened with gasoline demand is a very good indicator what is happening in the economy, recovery and also unfortunately a indicator what is happening with the virus. Ashley yeah. Thats interesting, stalled out. I want to talk about infrastructure issues if we can, daniel. The Supreme Court clearing the way for several pipelines but at the same time excluding the controversial keystone xl. We have the Atlantic Coast pipeline that basically gone for. We had another one, the Dakota Access line is still in limbo. But you say the u. S. Will still remain on top despite these internal infrastructure issues. Well, clearly that there is a war against pipelines and the decision about this Dakota Access which is modern threeyear pipeline three years old, operating. The judge wants it drained, empty the pipeline in less than a month is just astonishing decision. It is just, i think it is unprecedented but we still have, you know, the u. S. Is the worlds Number One Oil producer. It has taken a hit because of whats happened with all the price shocks and demand and so forth. But we still see the u. S. Will be one of the big three world oil producers. That is a very different position. That has a lot of benefits for the whole economy, not just one sector of the economy. Ashley quickly, daniel, with oil down at 40 bucks a barrel still, it is very difficult for the frackers and others in this industry, to, you know, survive. How long can they last . Does that hurt our position as dominant . What youre going to see that the investment is going to go down. You are going to see drilling is way down. That means our production, we think will go down until about this time next year. Then it will begin to recover again. But at 40, used to be a terrible price. That is good price compared to where things were two months ago. Ashley thats true. It is all relative. Daniel yergin. Thank you for joining us with your insight into the oil industry. Much appreciated. You dont need gas to drive a tesla. It is driving higher. Success is paving the way, also interestingly for other electric automakers. Susan, who will be the next tesla . Susan good question. If it was up to elon musk and hoping nobody but just him. Look at nikola shares today because some are calling this the next tesla. Getting an upgrade from jpmorgan. The stock is rocketing up over 20 but it did fall 40 in the past five sessions. However since the ipo it has been up fivefold. We had the ceo on this show. This company has no delivers are, no actual sales however it is igniting commitment when it comes to electric trucks. This is where a lot of investor enthusiasm is. Nikola has the badger. We look at the infamous cyber truck. Who can forget that introductory event. Amazon backs rivian. They have the r 1t. The price is 65,000. It is hydrogen powered. Cyber truck has 39,900. Lordstown endurance, has 52,500 its list price. It is not cheap. Ashley thank you very much much, susan. Interesting. Were calling this the clash of the titans, walmart launching a competitor to amazon prime. Lets bring back lauren. Amazon hit alltime high. Investors dont seem too concerned considering the stock seems to go up and up. Lauren were calling it the clash of the titans. Jerry stuart said earlier, walmart wins when it comes to the physical space and the grocery. Amazon wins online and maybe everywhere else. Youre seeing that reflected in amazon shares today. Look at amazon, five alltime highs in a row. If it closes where it is right now, above 3057, that would be a record close. So regardless of what walmart is doing with their new reported Subscription Service that is cheaper, amazon has been in the game a lot longer. Amazon prime is very successful. Ashley a behemoth. That is for sure. Wreck it ben kaiser, i dont know if im saying that right. They make lysol disinfectant products. Epa approved few of them to kill viruses on surfaces. Just dont inject them. This is disinfectant spray and max cover miss. These are the first products approved by epa being effective what im trying to say disinfecting against covid. They were found to get a virus on surface in two minutes. Good luck finding them. Hard for me to find them. Popular disinfectant cleaners. They flew off the shelves. Americans were hoarding these products and Hand Sanitizers as well. Lysol reported major sales growth in the First Quarter. Ashley yeah. But impossible to find, youre absolutely right. People shouldnt hoard. Share it out. All right, what about clorox . We talked about clorox a lot at the beginning of the pandemic . Susan they were always on the list, always included in the ep alist of disinfectants that prevent against the spread of coronavirus. Part of that list of products that epa shows they are effective when it comes to killing viruses, good luck finding it. How many months now . Have you seen clorox wipes available on line . I havent. Ashley i havent either. Very scarce. Susan, thank you very much. Congresswoman i will hahn omar wants to dismantle our economy. Just listen to this. As long as our economy and political system prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will perpetuate this inequality. So we cannot stop at criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it. Ashley you know what . Charles payne, i know will have something to say about that. He is coming up next hour. He is just finetuning his pen as they say. But first im talking to an arizona gym owner who is suing the governor over the states lockdown measures. He has been told his gym needs to remain shut. So will he defy those orders . I will ask him next. The dow still up 150 points. Good for half a percent bain. S p up more than half a percent. The nasdaq up well over 1 . Another 115 point gain and if it continues like that it will be at another record close for the nasdaq, very impressive indeed. All right. Lets move on. Gym owners urging governors to allow them to reopen. Lauren, what are they saying . Lauren more than 60 Fitness Companies flexing their muscles. Theyre calling on state governors, all of them, to allow them to open back up. They write an open letter writing this, worth noting that our industry has no tracing data provided by Public Officials that indicates gyms, clubs, studios are contributing to the spread of virus. They say working out helps people mentally dealing with all the stress. Here is the deal. Most states have allowed gyms to reopen with capacity restrictions but not yet in places like new york, michigan, here in new jersey. There are outside classes. Arizona just shut gyms for 30 days because theyre seeing spike in infections. The gym owners are saying this isnt fair, we can open safely. Ashley talking of arizona, the state reporting more than 3600 new coronavirus cases and more than 3300 new hospitalizations. That is in arizona. Governor doug ducey rolling back the states reopening. Bars, Movie Theaters, gyms and water parks are all to remain closed. Good time now to bring in tom hatton. He is the ceo of mountainside fitness. Thanks for joining us. Thanks for having me. Ashley you sued the governor over his lockdown orders but the judge said, you have to remain closed. Are you going to follow those orders . You know, absolutely and we had said that when we defied the order last week, we said that we wanted to get to a temporary restraining order hearing which was on monday. Then we would, comply with whatever that ruling was. We were actually really excited with judge thomas not the outcome of ruling which was a no but all the language inside which really, you know, made some points to the state, what they have given the governors too much wideranging authority under eo and he wants to that change immediately. Ashley how are you staying in business . You went through the lockdown. Then you reopened. Now youre having to close again. How are you surviving . Well, its tough. The first lockdown, we have 1500 employees. So we werent, we were not able to get any kind of government assistance. So we had to do it truly through negotiations with our landlords and banks. This one will be the same. It will be more difficult, telling all employees they have to go home basically for a month, starting that whole process again. It is going to be really difficult. This decision was so arbitrary which is kind of where it came from me, saying no, were not going to stay closed. Ashley none of the research that i have seen shows that gyms play any role, not a significant role or any role in helping spread covid, right . Yeah, absolutely and i think the big frustration for us is when we were closed for the first 60 days the Governors Office asked me to put in state protocols for the Fitness Industry in arizona and certainly for our club, mountainside and we did. We agreed to that. We opened up with the protocals. We were following the protocals. We were not cited for any reasons we were not following the protocals. Just to have them wake up late rally on a monday morning, 3 00 press conference, by the way, gyms you will close in five hours without any kind of proof or reasoning, i said that is enough. Weve gone too far. Ashley you know unfortunately too, we are seeing a spike in cases in states like arizona. The governor says you have got to shut down again for another 30 days. That is no guarranty that that shutdown order will be extended. That obviously must be very difficult for you as a business owner, someone running a viable venture to even plan for the future because you could very well be shut down beyond the 30 days . Youre absolutely right. That is our big concern. Originally we were shut down supposed to be for two weeks. Ended up being two months. So there is no guaranties it will be 30 days on this one. Were on pins and needles. The fact he arbitrarily picked gyms, he picked Movie Theaters to close. Movie theaters were closed at the time he decided to continue to close them. Just really very random decisions that are scary for businesses here in arizona as to why. Obviously weve seen a spike in cases still continue to rise. Gyms were closed. Ashley yeah. Listen, we wish you the very best of like, that you can stay afloat as they say. Tom, thank you for joining us on fox business. Much appreciate it. You bet. Ashley by the way we have news for us, new york city mayor bill de blasio giving guidance on children returning to school. Lauren, students wont fully return until the fall, right . Lauren no. Mayor de blasio says three days will be in the maximum and three days Remote Learning from their home. Parents have option only to do Remote Learning a few days ago, Governor Cuomo said all 700 new york School Districts come up with a plan. Now we have the biggest one, 1. 1 Million Students in new york public schools. Blended system. Three days in the classroom, socially distanced, two days at home. By the way there are 73 Million Students between kindergarten and college that have no idea what the fall holds for them. That means parents, back to school spending, work schedules. This is all question mark, ashley. Ashley yeah. There is a lot in limbo. Lauren, thank you very much. President trump, by the way, pushing to reopen schools in the fall. Roll that tape. So were very much going to put pressure on governors and everybody else to open the schools, to get them open and it is very important. It is very important for our country. It is very important for the well being of the student and the parents. So we are going to be putting a lot of pressure on open your schools in the fall. Ashley well this of course will become a big election issue. The Trump Campaign coming up on that and more in our next hour. But first, why not, lets take you to miami. Virus cases there are on the rise. Well have a live report next. Looks like they picked the wrong getaway driver. Theyre going to be paying for this for a long time. They will, but with accident forgiveness allstate wont raise your rates just because of an accident, even if its your fault. Cut sonny. Was that good . Line the desert never lies. Isnt that what i said . No you were talking about allstate and insurance. I just. When i. Lets try again. Everybody back to one. Accident forgiveness from allstate. Click or call for a quote today. Ashley coronavirus cases continue to rise in florida. Some hospitals say they are at capacity. Foxs phil keating is in miami beach where the have been some changes. Phil, can restaurants open where you are . Reporter yes, they are. Were on ocean drive. All of these restaurants are serving breakfast although it did stop dumping rain a few minutes ago. Its a bit of a quiet street. It could have been even more depressed ghost town of open drive. The county mayor saw reopening reversals, allowing restaurants like these to stay open, stay in business, only if they have out door dining. Dining inside of the restaurants, that is back to being not allowed. As for hospitalizations, that is a growing concern down here. That is because the numbers are simply going up. A tripleing of covid admissions in miamis Jackson Health system. So the state is sending in 100 additional nurses to help with the load. Icu admissions and ventilator needs have doubled. Statewide, 50 icu units are at capacity now. 50 hospitals show icu bed capacity are 10 or less. Miami has 1 3 of all the florida surge in cases. They are up to 20 from 8 two weeks ago. In tampa, hillsborough county, the positive test rate there is also now at 20 . Nationally a new Record Number of cases reported yesterday, topping 60,000. Top states, california with nearly 13,000, texas with more than 10 grand. Florida coming in at 7300. Floridas governor, continues taking heat especially from Congressional Democrats for not implementing a mandatory masks order. That is not needed. Protect the vulnerable population. Follow the guidelines that have been put out, whether the state guidelines on social distancing, whether some of the things that the mayor has done here in miamidade. Weve had not a lot of problems when folks have been following the guidelines. Reporter as far as Miamidade County, the most populous in the state, a mask is now mandatory if anybody is out in public. Ashley . Ashley very good. Phil keating, thank you so much. Well have more from miami with the citys mayor in our next hour. How does he stop the spread if young people just dont Pay Attention to social distancing . It is a big problem. I will ask him about that. Also coming up, leigh steinberg, he is the man who negotiated Patrick Mahomes record breaking half billion dollar deal. What was his cut . Im sure it was very nice. I will ask him. Wait until you hear what congresswoman i will i will hahn omar said about the economy. A firstofitskind, personalized education center. Oh. Eliquis is proven to reduce stroke risk better than warfarin. Plus has significantly less major bleeding than warfarin. Eliquis is fdaapproved and has both. Whats next . Im on board. Dont stop taking eliquis unless your doctor tells you to, as stopping increases your risk of having a stroke. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily and it may take longer than usual for any bleeding to stop. Tell your doctor about all planned medical or dental procedures. Ask your doctor about eliquis. And if your ability to afford. Your medication has changed, we want to help. Ashley it is 11 00 a. M. On the east coast. As you can see, the markets moving higher, coming off their earlier highs but the dow still up 100 points, the s p and nasdaq also moving nicely. The nasdaq, record territory again. Hi, everybody. Im Ashley Webster in for Stuart Varney. Take a look at amazon, just hit its third alltime high this week. Its only wednesday, right . Not bad, up another 44 bucks, 45 bucks at 3,045. It is also the fifth trading day in a row it has hit an alltime high. Amazon just on a tear. Much like tesla. A live look at the white house, if we can, where this hour, Vice President pence is hosting a Coronavirus Task force meeting with the department of education. Hes expected to hold a News Conference later this hour when to reopen schools is a big issue right now. But first, i want to get back to this sound bite, if we can, from congresswoman ilhan omar on the economy. Roll that tape. As long as our economy and political systems prioritize profit without considering who is profiting, who is being shut out, we will capitulate with inequality so we cannot stop at criminal justice system. We must begin the work of dismantling the whole system of oppression wherever we find it. Ashley dismantling. All right. Lets bring in Charles Payne for this, mr. American dream himself, and of course, host of making money on this very network. Charles, i know youve got a lot to say about this. Have at it. Charles i do, and ashley, one of the things i always wonder is like okay, when you dismantle this evil, awful system which you know, always can and always does improve, what do you replace it with . Where has she lived in her life, where has she gone in her life that theres a system thats better . So its really frustrating. You know, ashley, last year foreigners who live in america sent back to their homes 150 billion . Illegals in this country sent back almost 30 billion. Thats this evil country called america which is, you know, fought a couple world wars, rebuilt nations around the world, we have lost treasures of young men and women around the world. This is the big evil america that by the way, she was a refugee to and should be embracing it with all of her heart. So you know, every time we say we are going to work on something and theres a galvanizing moment in this country, yes, now everyone i think for the most part agrees there should be some criminal justice reform. Everyone agrees, by the way, even the Business Roundtable and chamber of commerce said profits should not be the sole, only thing that you look at or certainly profits at any cost. There are folks whose fathers lost a manufacturing job ten years ago who agree with that but the idea is that you can distribute these gains somehow evenly to people who werent involved, you know, it gets back to human nature. People go to work so that they can earn a living and they have a pride in earning that living and it just so happens they go to work for corporations and businesses. Ashley exactly. Look, they tried marxism before. It doesnt work. I want to move on to this one, charles. A survey shows that some economists think congress could create an economic crisis by refusing to extend unemployment or bail out local governments as we ramp up to election day. You think thats a possibility . Charles you know, ashley, this is very complicated. I have been very frustrated. On my show i have talked about it a lot in the last two weeks. I think theres been too much of this hey, you know what, we will get together and if somehow congress, we are talking about congress, is going to get serious about this and july 20th have an answer a week later, i dont know that you can open all the schools in this country without helping certain states and municipalities. I understand the concern that someone like illinois will take this money, which is always fungible and apply it to pensions or sanctuary status. But by the same token, its a delicate situation. Probably well extend unemployment but not to 600. The idea right now is to incentivize people to go back to work, not to make them, pay them more money to stay out of work. Thats just a logical conclusion. I am, though, very very concerned that congress is going to fumble this thing over politics. This economy still needs one more nudge. We need one more nudge. Ashley i totally agree. Very quickly, i think the Economic Data really points to the resilience of this economy. I know we are seeing a spike in virus cases but overall, the Economic Data has perhaps been better than many people have suggested. Charles its mindboggling. Ashley, when you think of the way its not just that weve bounced back. The way we have bounced back, it speaks to the core of america, to our willingness to make it work, to our ability to make it work. It just speaks to the actions, swift actions that were taken by the Federal Reserve and the federal government but it does get to the heart of why we are the greatest nation in the world. Think about this. May, we were supposed to lose eight million jobs, not create three million. Last month we were supposed to create three million, not five million. Look at manufacturing. Look at all the nuances in this country. It is remarkable what we have done and i think we are going to continue to be to impress ourselves for the rest of the year and into next year. Ashley i already feel better, Charles Payne. You always have that effect on me. When can we watch you on tv . Charles keep it glued here. I will be on after neil, 2 00. 2 00, we will have serious discussions on how to make money in this market because even though it looks great, under the surface theres just a handful of winners. How do you balance your portfolio in this environment. I want to help people make money at 2 00 p. M. Ashley you always do. Charles payne, great to see you. Thank you very much. Lets get back to the battle thats heating up on the food delivery front, if we can. Lets bring in andy puzder, one of our top restaurant guys. Andy, food delivery definitely on the rise. We know that. But there are issues with it. I will argue sometimes the quality, you have to put it in the microwave, whatever, and you have to pay the fees and then you tip the driver. That said, this is the new frontier, i would argue. Absolutely. I think competition will bring those prices down. I also think, just to follow up on what charles was saying, i think this is one of those areas thats driving the employment numbers up. If you go to the store and you pick up your own food, bring it home, cook it, theres not a lot, its just you. You order something, you got somebody who picks it up for you in the store, somebody who then has to deliver it to your house and somebody to prepare it before it got there. You are seeing theres so much tremendous Economic Opportunity in an economy like this. You got the usmca out there which is going to drive tremendous economic growth. You have things like delivery that would adapt to the new economy that would drive economic growth. Its why the numbers month after month, week after week, we are seeing these incredible economic numbers. Ashley but you know, its interesting, the tastes i guess and the trends are changing following the lockdown and now we have walmart jumping in with walmart plus to take on prime, amazon prime. What do you think about that . We are calling it the clash of the titans. Its remarkable. Walmart can see the amazon stock price. The people at walmart arent stupid. I mean, this is Walmart Walmart needs a competitor i mean, excuse me, amazon needs a competitor. I think the only group out there big enough with the resources to do it with supercenters all over the country is walmart. Again, its part of the formula, part of the trade agreements, usmca, part of people getting extra jobs, finding new jobs in the new economy. Companies growing in a new way. This is all coming out of the pandemic. We are going to find a lot of people adjusting their Business Models and walmart is really smart to do this. Ashley yeah. You are absolutely right. Fascinating to follow as well. Andy puzder, as always, thanks for joining us today. We appreciate it. Thank you. Quick stock check, if we can. First up, Allstate Insurance people set to buy out National General insurance. The deal worth around 4 billion, all in cash. The stock, allstate stock down 3. 5 , just under 90 bucks. Up next, the maker of the lysol products, the ones you cant get these days. Two of them were just cleared by the fda to be effective in killing the covid19 virus on surfaces. Good news, of course, for that company. Stock at 19. 27. Dunkin will be closing 450 of their locations in speedway gas stations. None of the regular cafes. The freestanding ones. This after they terminated their partnership with hess that owns speedway. That stock, dunkin stock, down 25 cents at 65. 20. Take a look at shake shack. They Just Announced a 3. 2 million loss in june. Thats because of store closures and reduced hours caused by the george floyd protests. They ended up paying workers for full shifts despite those closures so the costs were ramped up. But only just marginally down, shake shack at 49. 86. We have also got a couple stories on the airlines for you. Havent talked much about those today. First up, united. Lauren, they are shedding more flights from their schedule. Lauren they are. It was just last week that united boosted their august schedule, saying they would fly 40 of the schedule that they flew in august of 2019 but now as virus infections spike, united is cutting that back to 35 and they expect it to stay at 35 for the rest of the year. United also sending layoff warnings to potentially affected workers that will come by the middle of the month as their federal aid dries up in september. There is a briefing by united right now on potential furloughs and we will bring you the latest in just a few minutes. Ashley i want to follow up with you, if i can. Delta and american, you could say theres this is music to many a passengers ears. They are resuming Alcohol Service on flights. Lauren they need to. Okay. You can now drink beer and wine again on some delta flights. They are resuming their Alcohol Service for the premium flyers. American would do the same. But only if you have a first or Business Class ticket. I guess you have to pull down the mask really quickly, take a sip, make it a good one, put the mask back up. Ashley yeah. Sniff, sniff. Business and first class. Better than nothing. Thank you very much. Another look at tesla, just shy of 1400 bucks a share. 1390. Susan, with a price like that, youve got to wonder, is this as some would suggest, a bubble ready to pop . Susan we have been saying that for a long time, even when it crossed 300 a few years ago. Tesla actually went above 1400 just this morning and we are looking at a fifth straight day of gains. Its up some 223 since the march lows. That pushes teslas market cap past 358 billion. Now its bigger than 97 of the s p 500 and solidifies itself as the worlds biggest car maker. We know competition is coming. For instance, nikolas of the world. Nikola, by the way, rallying today, looking at an upgrade from jpmorgan. What about nio in china and riveons . They are on the way. Take a look at robin hood, the millenial trading app. Some say thats actually been fueling this rally. Five of the Top Ten Holdings on robin hood are all ev Car Companies along with the suppliers like workhorse and plug power. We know electric car penetration, only 4 around the world. That means only 4 of the worlds population owns an electric vehicle. So think of the Growth Opportunities ahead and what the sector might look like in a few years, a few decades, especially with a lot of generous government subsidies. They are going to give you thousands of dollars to buy one. Why not . Ashley 96 of the market still open. Thats interesting. Thank you very much. All right. Lets look at this. Kansas city chiefs star qb Patrick Mahomes, yes, hes a very rich man after signing the biggest contract in sports history. But guess what, we will speak to l his agent who helped push that deal into the end zone. Thats later this hour. Take a look at this. Beach chairs spread apart for social distancing in miami. Doesnt that look good right now. The city, though, is shutting down Indoor Dining but gyms can stay open. We will find out why and what the logic is behind that. First, President Trump is pushing to reopen schools in the fall but the question is how can we keep our 50 Million Students safe. Thats next. The new house is amazing. So much character. Original crown molding, walk in closets. We do have a ratt problem. Round and round with love well find a way, just give it time. At least geico makes bundling our home and Car Insurance easy. It does help us save. Round and round with love well find a way, just give it time. Round and round what comes around, goes around. For bundling made easy, go to geico. Com me too. Me too. And if youre a small business, were with you. Standing by you every step of the way. Bye bye. Ashley little under five months now to go until election day, and wall street is pondering the possibility of a joe biden win. Come in, hillary vaughn. Hillary, i guess the question is where specifically is the focus . Reporter whats interesting is wall street isnt sure yet what to bet on. Will biden be the type of president that is a middle of the road moderate or will he be pushed to the Progressive Left by his party but either way, the white house says they think joe biden in the oval office will be bad for wall street. White house economic adviser larry kudlow on fox friends this morning saying that a biden presidency would be a danger to the stock market. And its going to damage u. S. Wealth and investment and i just cant imagine why you would want to go on a tax hiking orgy right now. It just makes no common practical sense. Reporter biden has been up front that he wants to raise the Corporate Tax rate from 21 to 28 and wall street is predicting that that will cut significantly into the s p 500. Goldman sachs forecasts that that would actually cut earnings for that index by about 20 bucks a share. I talked to one longtime democratic megadonor, who has been friends with biden for over 40 years. His advice to biden has been stay middle of the road and win by enough that hes not pushed to the left by the progressive wing of the party. I talked to a former Goldman Sachs risk adviser as well who tells me investors are concerned that with biden in the oval office, he may not necessarily be in charge but instead, his agenda will be overtaken by that progressive wing of the party. Ashley . Ashley it is definitely split, thats for sure. Hillary vaughn, thank you very much. Next one, President Trump calling for schools to reopen in the fall. Roll that tape. So were very much going to put pressure on governors and everybody else to open the schools to get them open and its very important, its very important for our country, its very important for the wellbeing of the student and the parents, so were going to be putting a lot of pressure on open your schools in the fall. Ashley open those schools. Lets bring in erin perrine, trump 2020 director of press communications. Great to see you. You say the president is right to get tough, get tough, something you think joe biden would not be. Thats right. President trump has made clear and its backed by science that its really important to get students back into school. Theres a holistic need for physical learning together, whether its making sure that children get the education they need to succeed, to allow parents to get back to work. A lot of kids, especially those in lower income communities, get breakfast and lunch in schools so its important for these kids to get back. Joe bidens beholden to the Teachers Union in this country and he has said directly he will do whatever they want when it comes to getting kids back to school. Getting kids back to school is vitally important. President trump understands that and is going to work very hard to make sure its done so safely. Ashley all right. I want to talk about the president s rally in New Hampshire this weekend. Its going to be outdoors. Masks are encouraged but not required. Why is that . We have been working with state officials, including governor sununu to make sure we make this the safest possible rally we can. Masks are not mandatory in the state of New Hampshire. The governor has said himself hes not mandated masks at protests so he will not mandate them at the rally. However, on the campaign, we take the health and safety of every american, just as President Trump does, very seriously. We will be providing masks to every rally goer and encouraging them to wear them. We will provide Hand Sanitizer and do temperature checks of everybody who attends this rally. Health and safety remains important and we are looking forward to a great make America Great again rally in New Hampshire. Ashley how the president has handled the coronavirus pandemic will be an issue, no doubt. The democrats and critics say oh, hes bungled it and hes underplayed the threat. Whats your message to the critics . The critics are wrong. President trump took bold Decisive Action early to prevent incoming flights from china to step up production of ventilators, ppe and make sure this country was ready to handle this pandemic headon. You want to see bold American Leadership look directly at the way President Trump handled the coronavirus. Joe biden stood on the sidelines [ inaudible ] and has been a step behind President Trump the entire way. This is what leadership looks like and it has saved millions of american lives. Ashley all right. We will leave it right there. Erin, thank you so much for joining us this morning. Appreciate your time. Lets get a check if we can on gold. It cracked the 800 level per troy ounce. Its up another nine, nearly ten bucks at 1819 for gold. That is a nineyear high. What about oil . We just heard that there was a bigger build, more in storage than expected. Thats putting a little downward pressure. Crude still right around that 40 mark at 40. 38, just down slightly. Check the price of gas, if we can. National average right at 2. 18 for a gallon of regular. So long it was under two bucks, was it not. The cheapest gas still in mississippi. Take a look at that. 1. 83. Thats up about a cent from yesterday but still, as they say, dirt cheap in mississippi. If you want to go down there and fill up. All right. The nfl and Players Union finally reach an agreement on travel protocol for Training Camp but still unclear whether any preseason games will be played. We dont know. Will the league skip them all together . We will discuss that. And protesters are social distancing as Walt Disney World prepares to reopen this week. We are going to tell you how the parks plan to keep the magic alive while keeping guests safe and yes, it involves a lot of plexiglass. Well be right back. vo the time is coming for us to get out and go again. To visit all the places we didnt know meant so much. But were all going at our own speed. At enterprise, peaceofmind starts with our complete clean pledge, curbside rentals and lowtouch transactions. With so many vehicles of so many kinds, you can count on us to help you get everywhere you want to go. Again. Whenever youre ready, were ready for you. Enterprise. Ashley all right. I want you to take a look at the stock twitter. It is up more than 6 at 35. 14 right now. Working on a subscription platform code named griffin, although we have yet to confirm that. Thats why we are seeing some movement on twitter. Working on some sort of subscription platform. Lets check the market as well. It just turned negative, as you can see. We were up some 200 points earlier. The dow now off 40, s p losing steam, gone negative. The nasdaq also just up a quarter of a percent. Susan li, do we know whats going on . Susan i think we just got a lot of negative headlines on coronavirus so we just had arizona reporting another 3520 cases of covid this wednesday and that adds to the total of a record high that they saw tuesday as well. Theyre saying intensive care unit beds in use by all patients at a record now of 91 . They are all taken up right now. Also, we just got the latest headline from mayor deblasio in new york. This has to do with schools, not only not really fully opening, only opening for three days and then you are home schooled for two days. I think thats having an impact as well on the markets and Market Sentiment as to when these states and the country and the economy opens up fully once again. Ashley yeah. These headlines can certainly play with investors psyche. Thank you very much. A live look if we can at the white house. We are awaiting a News Conference with Vice President pence and the Coronavirus Task force. He is expected to speak about education so of course, we are monitoring that for you. We will bring you the headlines as soon as they come out. Thats at the white house. We also have breaking news on united airlines. Lauren, news that they are furloughing tens of thousands of workers . Lauren an expected 36,000 workers might lose their job come october 1st. Thats when the federal aid, the 5 billion that united received, the terms of that expire on that date. We can take a breakdown of who could lose their jobs. We are talking about 15,000 flight attendants, 11,000 Customer Service and gate agents, 5500 maintenance staff, 2200 pilots, all in, 36,000 what is considered a front line employee or a third of united staff. One more thing. You remember the tristate area. They put this quarantine on people coming in to new york, new jersey and connecticut from states that saw a huge spike in virus infections. Well, with that demand to fly fell. Thats why united also cut back its august flying schedule from 40 to 35 of last years schedule. Ashley wow. 36,000 workers. Thats a lot of folks. Lauren, thank you very much. Now check this out. You are going to be looking at the time lapse footage of the nba transforming ballrooms at disney world in florida into fullfledged practice courts. How fascinating is that. The players who have chosen to participate in the Upcoming Season have arrived in orlando. That is on track, by the way, to start on july 30th. Here they come. They are going to be in that disney world bubble. Lets stay on disney. Set to partially reopen their orlando parks this weekend, as cases there skyrocket. You know, lauren, how are they going to keep the guests safe . Thats the key question. Lauren yeah. So they are doing a lot of social distancing and a lot of cleaning but they do plan to open magic and Animal Kingdoms on saturday. Epcot and Hollywood Studios reopen about four days later, july 15th. The attractions are going to look different. You will see this. Plexiglass barriers around the jungle cruise, the safari trucks, other locations around the park, keep the germs out is the point. The chief medical officer of disney says look, you made your reservation in advance, you limit attendance, you take temperatures, you wear face masks and you clean the park deeply every single night. We are doing everything we can to ensure a safe experience. But if you look at the number of cases in florida, 9,989 new cases just yesterday. So we are seeing this spike and that makes people pump the brakes on if they want to go to a theme park. Ashley yeah. We will see how that works out. Interesting. Lauren, thank you very much. You know what, lets stay in florida. Take a look at Miamidade County. More than 4,000 new cases in this week, 4,031 to be exact. Lets bring in francis suarez, mayor of miami. Great to have you. Things are looking just a little worse since you were last on the show. I guess the question is, whats not working . Well, we are doing a variety of things. We just hit yesterday a new high of 2900 new cases. We have implemented a masks in public rule. The county closed the beaches. The county has now closed Indoor Dining and we have also, you know, we have also implemented fines and penalties for those who either dont wear a mask or who are not complying with the rules as a business. All of that happened in the last few days. We are hoping that that in conjunction with the reality of what we are seeing will, you know, motivate people to really take this seriously. Ashley you mentioned that Indoor Dining is now closed. But as i understand it, the gyms are still open. So why no Indoor Dining but the gyms can stay open . Yeah. That was the decision of the county mayor and frankly, its [ inaudible ]. We have 34 cities in Miamidade County but [ inaudible ] we are still trying to get contact tracers to give us more precise data that will allow us to make better decisions in terms of what industries are really fueling this growth. Without that data, its really hard to make decisions that can have such farranging Economic Impacts as shutting down an industry. So you know, thats what we are dealing with at the department of health right now to try to get that information so we can make better decisions. Ashley last one for you. President trump is going to head to south florida to address Drug Trafficking on friday. But with the virus spiking, as you have just outlined, is it the right time to come . You know, i think far be it from me to advise the president on what his travel schedule should be. I think we are here in the city, we feel confident that if you are following the rules, you are going to be safe. One of the reasons why we have a masks in public rule is theres an 85 chance you will not get the virus if you and the person you are speaking to is wearing a mask. So we feel that if the rules are just adhered to, we will see a tremendous delta in the new case state we are seeing but we do need to follow the rules. Ashley francis suarez, mayor of miami, thank you for joining us today. We really appreciate it and wish you the best of luck in trying to contain this spread of coronavirus. Thank you, mayor. We do appreciate it. The president of mexico heads to the white house today as those virus cases climb. We will take a look at exactly how our two countries are working together to fight the spread. Thats the number of new covid19 cases in mexico this week. Nearly 16,000. Also, talk about a big bet. Draftkings, the Sports Betting guys, going public in the middle of a pandemic but can its stock survive as leagues struggle to reboot . Thats the question. Its next. This is decision tech. Find a stock based on your interests or whats trending. Get realtime insights in your customized view of the market. Its smarter Trading Technology for smarter trading decisions. Fidelity. Ashley the market has been open for over two hours. The dow essentially flat right now at 25,889. The s p, slightly higher, essentially flat, too. The nasdaq up half a percent. All right. Lets take a look at draftkings. That stock up over 55 since going public in late april. Right in the thick of the coronavirus pandemic. Not the best timing, but check out the stock. Susan, they have had success with no sports. I mean, you know, how are they doing that . Susan well, we also have the restart of sports as well. The nba restarting their season at the end of this month, july 30th. Major League Baseball opening day july 23rd. Thats pretty good news if you are an Online Gaming company like draftkings or fan duel. As you mentioned, draftkings actually went public at 15 apiece. Actually more than doubling since then. Our graphic was showing the increase since the end of day one. But there is still a big Growth Opportunity as well for the likes of fanduel and draftkings because gambling is only legal in 22 states and washington, d. C. Several other states are set to follow, also Online Gaming accounting for only 12 of the entire gaming industry, and new jersey is a great indicator as to the future of Sports Betting. Sports betting in new jersey makes up 90 of the gambling revenue and in fact, they are singlehandedly saving and propping up Atlantic City right now. Overall, money wagered in new jersey, yes, it did fall during covid so down 65 in march, down also in april, falling some 82 , but its picked up since then in may. In fact, if you look at the pga, nascar and ufc, those leagues have come back during covid ahead of the nba and mlb. We had Sports Betting up some 3,000 in some pga events. You know theres all this pentup demand out there, right. The stock has actually benefited from a lot of this money from these Online Sports bettors instead of betting on sports, they have become stock day traders, which some see as a bubble, by the way. Ashley also betting on russian table tennis. Interesting time. Susan, thank you very much. Lets move on, if we can. Kansas city chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes signed the largest contract in sports history, a tenyear deal worth up to 503 million, half a billion. Lets bring in the man who negotiated that deal, lee steinberg. Lee, its eyewatering. How did you do it in a league that has a salary cap . Go through the process with me. Basically most of the negotiation was done by chris cabot from our office and it was done by brett beach. Basically you have this superb player and he has in two seasons eclipsed any kind of natural curve, so whats stunning is how fast his trajectory has been. First year, hes mvp of the whole league. Second year, hes mvp of the super bowl. So its a contract to give stability and to lock him in and have everyone in kansas city focus on one thing which is winning the super bowl. Ashley is that 10 that you get of 503 million . You ought to be my agent. No. Its actually 3 . Ashley 3 . All right. The players associations in each sport mandate maximum fees so in baseball, its 5 . In the nba, its 4 . In football, its 3 , as the money goes to the player. Ashley i see. Thats about 15 million. Still nothing to sneeze at, as they say. I want to move on. The Nfl Players Union finally agreed on some Health Protocols for Training Camp. There is some serious doubts about preseason games. Do you think they will play . None of us really know where well be a month from now in terms of health. So the first tee is obviously safety but the thought has been that it might be possible, it looks discouraging in this current spike of cases, but it might be possible to take the temperature of fans coming into the stadium, have them wear masks, socially distance in respect to how theyre seated, and perhaps not have 70,000 fans but you could have less. This is a brave new world. We have never encountered this in the history of american sports. So innovation in terms of how the testing occurs, taking players out of a unit and isolating them, its really going to be an experiment in how to safely bring back sports. The sports public is starved for that content and programming. We dont really know what performance will be like with no fans in the stands. For the first ashley yeah. Its interesting. The epl or english soccer league, did a survey of the players. They are now playing in front of empty stadiums. Some players actually like it because they didnt feel under pressure from the fans. But the vast majority say it just takes out the excitement and the energy from the game. Anyway, last one for you. Red sox pitcher Edwardo Rodriguez tested positive for coronavirus. Meanwhile, other baseball teams cant even get their test results. This is in baseball. These are the kind of issues we could face with every sport. If you get the virus kind of running through a team, they may not be able to play, then the schedule gets thrown out. I know you kind of addressed this but this is very very tentative and very easily knocked off the rails. In other words, this is very much touchandgo. We saw a soccer team, for example, fc dallas, have so many players that were suffering that they decided not to do the season. So we are going to have to experiment along as we go. This is all new modalities so it takes creative thinking and flexibility. Ashley we saw it started with Patrick Mahomes. We should end with him. He seems like such a centered guy. Hes incredibly talented. There are those that say not only could he become an nfl icon, a sporting icon, but he could become a cultural icon and he just seems to have the right mental ability to handle that kind of pressure. Would you agree . I would. He has a tremendous heart and sense of empathy for other people, a really active Charitable Foundation and i dont we dont detect any change in him and how he handles himself in victory or defeat and youve got a good job done by the parents in raising a very grounded, center ed young man wo cares a lot about others. Ashley he does indeed. Hes also very rich. Thats always nice as well. Well done to him. Well done to you, leigh steinberg. We really appreciate it. Thank you so much. My pleasure. Ashley Vice President pence speaking at the department of education right now. He says we have tested more than 39 million americans, more than three million have tested positive. Even still, he says it is time to get the kids back in school. Lauren, come back in, if you can. The schools dont reopen, the fullbacktoschool spending boom, i assume just wont happen. Lauren i will beg to differ. Deloitte expects spending to be 28 billion on backtoschool this year. Essentially flat compared to last year, about 530 per family. This is why its expected to not decline. Yeah, you are spending less on backpacks, less on clothing, but you are spending more, 28 more on technology. Its not just the personal computer and the other tech gadgets. Its also the supplemental Virtual Learning that parents say they are paying for because they are not satisfied with the quality of education that their kids are getting being home schooled doing Remote Learning. Two quick things. Stocks that we like to watch, he also said, this is just in my ear, i apologize, you need to get the kids back to school for their mental and their physical health. My final point on merchants that could do well. Walmart is definitely one, staples and office depot. Stocks down over 20 this year. I think i need to go to office depot because im writing on napkins and envelopes at this point. Ashley that is a sad state. We have to leave it there. Thank you very much. More varney after this. I had shingles. Horrible. A young thing like me . [camera man] actually anyone 50 or over is at increased risk for shingles. The pain, the burning my husband had to do everything for weeks. And the thing is, theres nothing you can do about it [camera man] well, shingles can be prevented. Shingles can be whaaat . [camera man] prevented. You can get vaccinated. Frank they have shingles vaccines whaaat . Thats what i said. Were taking you to the doctor. Not going through that again. [camera man] you can also get it from your pharmacist talk to your doctor or pharmacist about getting vaccinated. Ashley today, the president of mexico, president obrador, meets with President Trump at the white house to celebrate the launch of the usmca. Time to bring in eric farnsworth, Vice President of the council of americas. Eric, thanks for being here. I guess the first question to you is what does this mean for our relationship with mexico . I think its a major step forward. Ashley, its great to be with you. To have the usmca going into effect on july 1st, this will solidify the relationship economically not just with the u. S. And mexico but also with canada, and its a real step forward because the nafta needed to be updated. And usmca has done that. So this is a major advance in the relationship with mexico. Ashley i guess obviously we should ask, how are we working with mexico to fight covid19 . Well, this is, you know, an overwhelming issue for both countries, no question. Mexico hasnt yet hit the peak of the pandemic. The cases are still continuing to rise there. Its a major bilateral issue. The United States has offered and provided ventilators, for example, to mexico. There is extensive bilateral cooperation. There needs to be more, to be honest, because the relationship between our two countries depends on healthy societies, not just economic relationships but the social relationship, the family relationships were very well interlinked, but i do know that both countries are focused on this and that will be one of the discussion points today, when president Lopez Obrador meets with President Trump at 2 00 washington time. Ashley all right. Sorry this is very short and sweet but we got what we wanted to talk about. Eric farnsworth, thank you so much for joining us. More varney after this. Ashley make sure you mark down your callander. Fox businesss neil cavuto will hold the next virtual town hall with barbara corcoran, and ara hovnanian. Send questions to invested in you foxbusiness. Com. Looks forward to that. It has been a strange morning. Down 200 points on the dow. Up slightly. Same story on the s p at 3150. The nasdaq continues to push higher up 77 points at 10,421. Some headlines about more coronavirus cases perhaps hurting confidence a little bit. My times up. Neil cavuto. Take it away. Neil thank you, ashley, very much. The administration is doing everything to mitigate damage from comments about the fierce of spiking cases. Vice president himself and Coronavirus Task force is saying there is peaking seems to be going on in some of the hardest hit states, texas, arizona, a couple others here. In other words the number of positive cases is also trending in the right direction. In other words, still moving up but not as up as it was before. I think that is a good way to explain it, i dont know. Dr. Birx is talking about promising developments this
