Like in this part of seattle all the time. Its known for that. We could have a summer of love. If. Lou there was never love, only fools and facilitators in seattles top officialdom who only accommodated outreaches of the occupiers. After weeks of ugly, futile efforts at appeasement of the anarchists and black lives matter activists, durkan finally declared that the mob that had taken over six blocks of downtown seattle was an unlawful gathering. And after three weeks of madness, she ordered the end of her summer of love. What changed mayor durkans mind . Was it the murders of two teens and the shooting of three others . The assaults . The rapes . Was it the crimes committed within c. H. O. P. . Beyond those, the complaints from local Business Owners and residents of capitol hill who were suing the city for the their injuries and the damages caused by the mob they had to face every day and every night of the occupation . Nothing, nothing could prompt if durkan to take action until a group of angry demonstrators showed up outside her home sunday. Those demonstrators and protesters demanded that the mayor do her job and throw the occupying leftist mob out of the Capitol Hill Area that they had seized. Todays clearout of c. H. O. P. Resulting in the dozens of arrests of the socalled Peaceful Protesters in this summer of seattle love. But the fools who run the city are still fools x that does auger well for law and order in seattle, nor for peace. The hapless Seattle Police chief giving hope to the protesters, saying her department will continue negotiations with the, quote, community on how best to carry out, quote, Law Enforcement. I think a continuing dialogue and negotiations on how we do mix safety. So i look forward to having those discussions along with other members, and well see where it turns out. Lou well, as you see, seattle officials dont learn readily, do they . For the latest in seattle, we turn to correspondent dan springer live in seattle. Dan . Reporter yeah, lou,ty police and workers are city police and workers are certainly making quick work, i want to show you whats happening. Theyre a taking down at the corner e of pine and 12th the black fist thats been up now for the better part of three weeks out in front of the police precinct. They have reestablished complete control of the area, and a short time ago the police chief got back inside this very same east precinct. [cheers and applause] reporter and you may have heard one of the officers there say, quote we got it back. Indeed, they did. At 5 a. M. With Armored Vehicles along with local and federal police, it all comes 23 days after Seattle Police abandoned their east precinct amidnightly clashes between amid nightly clashes between police and protesters. From there the copfree protest zone grew. Usually calm during the day, it became increasingly dangerous at night including robberies, rape and the murders of two black teenagers. This order and our Police Response comes after weeks of violence in and around the capitol hill occupied protest zone. Including multiple shootings resulting in many injuries and two deaths. Reporter city workers have been busy all morning long removing the barricades, the tents, the trash. They have repainted the precinct, covering the gras gra, and they replaced is some of the plywood. Police have arrested 32 people so far. We spoke with a Business Owner to get his thoughts on the sweeps. It just doesnt quite feel like a victory in that, in my humble opinion, its too late. Its about four weeks too late. Reporter we have seen no violence and very little resistance, frankly, from the protesters who said they would stay out in front of thats precinct until their demands were met. Now that police have their precinct back, the question is how long do they keep it from becoming a flashpoint again. We understand that theyre going to keep some of those barricades now right in front of the precinct and put up new fencing to try to at least create some kind of barricade so this area doesnt become a flashpoint for protests once again. Lou . Lou dan springer reporting from seattle, washington. The left and radical dems are trying to seize this moment as they see it and to create havoc wherever they can. South of seat of seating in portland, oregon, police had fireworks shot at them. The mob also throwing cans, rocks, Water Bottles at the officers. Riots in portland have already cost the city 23 million. 3,000 miles to the east in new york city, new York City Police officers started their own clearout of protesters and occupiers camped out in front of new york city hall. The Police Officers carried out their duty to Public Safety only hours after the new York City Council passed a budget and slashed the nypd budget by 1 b billion. It did absolutely nothing to appease radical dem alexandria ocasiocortez. And apparently in new york she must be pleased. He simply said, quote Defunding Police means Defunding Police. End quote. Why defund Law Enforcement in new york as the murder rate is rising dramatically . 178 murders in the First Six Months of this year. Thats a 21 increase from the same period a year ago. If shooting incidents are up 46 . Shooting victims, the numbers have risen by 53 . Yesterday alone eight shootings in new york city. Eight. Thats twice as many as reported on the same day last year. Yet the radical dems and the national leftwing media insist on demonizing Law Enforcement. Insist that calls to defund the police and antipolice rhetoric is somehow clever. Listen to what one black lives matter protester said to a captive audience in new york who applauded his call for violence. [applause] i want to put my foot on his [bleep] neck like they do to us. I want to put my foot on his back like he do us. [applause] i want to hang him from a [bleep] tree like he do us. Lou the calls for violence against police may go unreported by the national leftwing media, but violent rhetoric has real consequences. For example, Tulsa Police Sergeant greg johnson, who along with another officer, were shot monday during a routine traffic stop. Johnson died a day later. The second officer is still hospitalized and is responding to treatment. The National Media largely ignoring the calls for violence against police, and they mostly ignored sergeant with johnsons murder. On wall street stocks finished mixed, the dow down 78 points, the s p up 163. The nasdaq gained 96 s p up 16. The nasdaq today is at a new record close, the 22nd record close on the year. Volume on the big board, four and a half billion shares. Crude oil up more than half a percent. Listen to my reports three times a day coast to coast on the salem radio network. Up next, why does the national leftwing media accept joe bidens bunker mentality that keeps him in his basement most of the time . The historian Victor Davis Hanson joins us next. Stay with us. Lou breaking news, a new rasmussen poll finds one in five democrats say joe biden has dementia. My next guest has written about bidens cognitive decline as he sees it and bidens bunker mentality, he says, is only delaying the inevitable. Joining us tonight is Victor Davis Hanson, a terrific, a brilliant historian, senior fellow in military history at the hoover institution, Professor Emeritus of classics at california state university, author and National Review contributor. Victor, great to have you with us. This is, this is a strange time for the National Media in so many ways, but their efforts to ignore what is obviously a bunker mentality on the part of biden and emerging once every 85 days for a press conference and then, when he does, to make mincemeat and hash out of his verbal attempts at verbal communication. Yeah. Its going to be very interesting, lou, because a lot of us have said that the moment he merged after this long sojourn that it would be a reason why he shouldnt do it again, and in his first moments, the first thing he said was youre a lying dog face. And that was from that point on, i mean, he got the prompts confused where he was supposed not to tell the audience that he had preselected people that were to call on him, and he had long pauses, he had loss of stream of thought. And he should have stayed in the bunker, because he was trying to frame and his handlers were trying to frame this election in a very strange way. It was going to be donald trump versus the Media Version of the virus, the lockdown, the rioting and the looting x. As long as he was able to maintain that Media Version of those events, he had donald trump had gone down and hed gone up. And then with a wink and a nod, he more or less said that his Vice President would be a woman of color. He said woman, but we think itll probably be a woman of color. And but association that person will be the next president should he be elected, and that was going the pacify his base. As long as he did that, he didnt have to sign on to debates, he didnt have to campaign, he didnt have to come out with an agenda that was contrary to trumps, he didnt have to circle the square of his views versus his hardleft likely vp. And then suddenly i think the pressure became so much that his handlers thought, you know, people are criticizing us, weve got to get him out. Well prep him really well and it didnt work with. Somebody who has cognitive impairment, the anecdote to that is stimuli and getting out. Its not staying in for weeks on end in seclusion. It makes it worse, and we saw that yesterday. Lou it is also, you wrote in the National Review about the politics of dementia, but there is another serious, very serious issue here that the leftwing National Media is ignoring. And that is if, indeed, he does is have dementia and certainly, there are troubling, troubling signs this is, this is abuse of the elderly, i mean, by any definition. It is abuse of someone who is impaired. And i dont hear a Single Person in the leftwing media, anyone in the Democratic Party saying what in the world going on . This is an issue of enemity and inhumane treatment. Where in the world are the people who care for this man . Remember how he got there. He had bombed out on the very reasons you just outlined in january and february of this year. And then people, they thought sanders would be their socialist nominee, so they brought in mike bloomberg, he turned out to be a disaster. They resurrected biden, coerced buttigieg, klobuchar and warren to get out. They avoided sanders, but they created a new condition of a candidate people had been worried about, their own voters, because he was cognitive hi impaired. Theyre back to square one, and this is highly ironic because in American History weve had woodrow allson in a comatose astronaut wood wilson in a comatose state, fdr, everybody knew that his Vice President would shortly become president. They got him off the ticket, henry wallace, because they knew he was basically a communist or a socialist, and they wanted harry truman. So weve been there before and it doesnt end well. Its very ironic because remember, lou, just a year and a half ago the left and the media said that donald trump was cognitively impaired. There was no evidence, but he took the monterey cognitive assessment test. They had a yale psychiatrist, she testified before congress and said that he was, should be restrained. But none of that is happening now. If hes biden says he takes tests, and he said he takes them frequently. All hed have to do is do what trump did and release the results or have somebody like dr. Yi examine him the way he did in absentia with donald trump. Lou it is extraordinary. Your judgment about the impact. Were reporting tonight on what is happening in three cities, seattle, portland and new york city. And in other cities around the country, and that is more disruption, civil unrest, more protests and demonstrations often turning violent. If what will be the impact on the election, in your judgment, as we wrap up here . Well, yeah. The people, very quickly, they want it over with. Theyre going to do one of two things. Im talking about the swing voters and the independents in these key states, are going to want it over. If donald trump takes control, hes got a lot of blink people that dont want him to. Hes got the military that ease hesitant, hes got the blue governors. But if he can get some federal indictments, cut off some federal funds, coerce these blue state governors to do their job, then theyll vote for him. If he has a press conference with barr here, qume knellly here and his cucinelli and are reassuring americans that today we did this and tomorrow its going to get better, hell win. If he doesnt, then the american swing voter will go into a fetal position, lou, and hell is say make it all go away, and hell come to the wrong conclusion and think that bidens victory will pacify the left when, in fact, itll only encourage them. Thats the choice. I think hes done a lot better the past two or three days. Keep quiet, stay calm, use a brilliant attorney general, get federal indictments. One thing we know, lou, is when the police act in seattle or when they act in washington to save a statue, these socalled courageous protesters and rioters and arsonists, they dissipate. They dont go in the hills as if theyre gorillas. Theyre worried about their cbs or their record, or they dont want to go to jail. When theyre met with force, they react accordingly, and its not very heroic. So i think the police were exactly right. Do it today in seattle, why didnt we with do it two or three weeks earlier. The answer is that the blue state mayors and governors weaponized this issue of law and order because it was an election year, and the chaos they thought served their [inaudible] lou this, this president always at his best when he does what he thinks is right and when he is the, owns the high road. He has both, i think, in hand. Victor davis hanson, always great to be talking with you. Come back soon. Thank you. Wed like to hear your thoughts about all of this. We hope youll be with us for that. And stay with us as we continue here tonight. Up next, the politics of the china virus. What the president must do to repair the damage caused by xi jinping. We take it up with dr. Marc siegel and republican strategist and savant ed rollins. Stay with us, well be right back. Devin, did you know geico is now offering an extra 15 percent credit on car and motorcycle policies . Ok . Thats 15 percent on top of what geico could already save you. So what are you waiting for . Dj khaled to be your motivational coach . Yo devin remember to brush in a circle motion. Thank you. Dj. Khaled. Tiny circles, devin. Do another one. Another one. Is this good . Put in that work, devin. Dont give up. Geico. Save an extra 15 when you switch by october 7th. Lou well, the china virus has been plaguing the world for six months now, and tonight to make some sense of it both in terms of medically and politically, were joined by two very bright people, former Reagan White House political director, fox business political analyst, republican strategist ed rollins, and fox news medical correspondent dr. Mark marc siegel. One of the most Interesting Articles ive read included the information that the intensive care units across the country, that we are, well, constantly, it seems, reminded are fulling again to capacity. In some cases, beyond. Not coronavirus victims but, rather, sick patients who desperately need to be in icu. That is, thats something that we hadnt heard before. Berenson made the point on twitter. Your thoughts. You are 100 correct, lou. This is the politics of fear. Im sure your other guest is going to get to that, savant is going to get to that. But the politics of fear. But heres what it is, the hospitals are not overfilled whatsoever. Its adding patients that had other conditions back, finally. The elective surgeries, the other cases, the heart attacks, the strokes, cancer. Thats whats filling the hospitals. On top of that, there is some increase in covid19 patients coming in, lou. But ive talked to top hospital officials in florida, in texas, in california and in arizona, and nowhere near Surge Capacity in these hospitals. The issue is that covid19 is like a clog. Once its in the hospital, you have to isolate it. Is so it interferes with normal hospital lou [inaudible] all of that hype was overblown. Lou okay. Overblown. Are we, indeed, still facing the possibility of a resurgence n your judgment, of this virus that has proven deadly in the First Six Months of this year . Just give us a sense of that very quickly. I think, lou, were talking about young people getting this virus, and only 3. 9 of recent deaths are those under the age of 44. So were not talking about a resurgence in deaths here, were talking about spread by people in bars that arent taking precautions or beaches lou right. That are close together or at protests, coughing and shouting lou let me tush turn to ed and get the politics of this thing. Ed, whats going on here . Because we have, and i love what rand paul said to dr. Fauci, there is such arrogance im paraphrasing such arrogance in the medical community that they think a handful of people can tell this extraordinary economy how to operate and how to react . Particularly when theres very little known about the virus itself, in point of fact. Your thoughts politically, what does this president need to do. He has to basically appear to be on top of it. Id slap a mask on and just forget it. Just walk out there and say, okay, im not going to get it. It makes you feel better to see me with a mask. The bottom line is where he has to worry is the voters over the age of 65 who were his strongest voting bloc. People think he doesnt care about this issue. Obviously, he does. Hes done a lot about this issue early on, and he wants to get focused on the economy, which is critical. Nobody in our lifetime has a faced this kind of dilemma lou but no one is going to, no one go ahead. Lou no one is going to give this president the empathy. The national leftwing media, ed, as you well know, are going to beat him over the head with this nonsense. And i call it nonsense because theyre acting as though he is the cause of it when, in fact, he is the solution. Well, he e has to go out and repeat, again, all that hes done. Because, again, and look at polls. Look at polls not to find out the head to head, but are you getting erosion among your base, and hes getting a little erosion among those over 65 who dont think he cares about them. Hes got to get back in that mix. Also women are basically way off where they normally would be. He needs to get some of that back. Lou right. The base itself cant give hum the presidency, you have to have independent lou let me go ahead. Lou dr. Siegel, where are we . I mean, youve got fauci, i mean, he is talking nonstop. And hes got a checkered record in the accuracy of what he does say. And, frankly, we dont hear from the Coronavirus Task force anymore. But we hear a lot from fauci. What do you, as a doctor, how do you react to what he is saying . Because some of it, to me, just seems, frankly, contradictory to all he said that preceded the statement, statements today, for example. I think hes, i think hes falling into a trap of the politicization of the virus. Not deliberately. But when he throws out a number like 100,000 cases, thats a madeup number. Its not based on anything. Again, close the bars, the numbers are going to decrease dramatically. Moves can be made surgically to decrease the numbers just by focusing on where the problem is. Dr. Faucis draconian projections are used by the leftwing media to incentivize the politics of fear. And i agree with ed, by the way. Let the president put on a mask that says maga, beautiful, embroidered letters on his mask. [laughter] lou ill tell you what, doctor, youre out of your lane talking politics, but i sure as hell like your idea. Every American Voter one with of those masks, and met them have it for let them have it for free. Let them wear it. [laughter] lou okay. Gentlemen, its great to have you with us. Dr. Siegel, ed rollins are, both of you take care. Up next, why do so many of the black lives matter demonstrators and protesters sometimes seem to be overwhelmingly e white . Former civil rights activist bob woodson asked one of the main organizers that question. Woodson joins us next. Stay with us. Contributed to the lou let me ask you this, as we watch this often we see white, usually young white people in the streets in a black lives demonstration, and weve got corporations sending money to back black lives matter, and it seems like its building. I cant tell if black lives matter is now a black institution or if its an activist organization of some sort being used, if you will, for different purposes. Well, i think that the symbol of two white women in atlanta at the site of the man being shot by the white cops, the fact that these two white radical women burned down the wendys restaurant own by a black man where black people live in the name of social justice for blacks, thats what they took over a target store in washington d. C. 80 young blacks and maybe 80 young whites and 5 blacks took over the store in the name of black liberation. The mayor of washington had her home surrounded by a hundred young whites demanding a reduction in the funding for police. And, but just a few blocks away in wards seven and eight, low income blacks are diagnose as a consequence of police nullification. And its widespread throughout the country. The more the whiteleft radicals demand reduction of police and they become neutralized, the more the blackonblack deaths soar. We have more blacks killed by other blacks in one year than was killed in fifty years by the klan. There are about 4,000 blacks lynched by the klan in a period of 50 years, and 23 children, lou, have died on our streets last year. Under the age of 10. But that does not provoke outrage and indignation from the left. But they do express indignation when people have to wear a white face in order for us to be aroused and take action. And thats the false narrative that theyre using to try to dismiss and bring down this nation. It is and theyre promoting insurrection. Theyre using the rich legacy of the civil rights movement, using the moral authority and applying it for immoral purposes, using the tools of violence to promote insurrection and instability in our nation. But this is a fight for the soul of this nation. And thats where this battle can be won. Samuel adams spoke to lou [inaudible] a general dissolution of principles and manners will surely overthrow than the whole force of a common enemy. While the people are vir chows, they cannot with or subdued, but they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first internal or external invader. To this battle wont be won on the ballot box. Its going to be won on the streets lou well well and thats where we have [inaudible conversations] lou well be thank you. Were going to take a quick break, well be back with more. Bob has a lot, a lot to say, and i dont know about you, but i cant wait to hear his very next words. Stay with us, well be right back. At the investments, which we cant control, and lets now look at our goals. In other words, we only want to take as much risk as is necessary to achieve our goals. In other words, we only want to take as much risk leading armies to battle . , was that your greataunt, keeping armies alive . Drafting the plans. Taking the pictures. Was it your family members . Thats just the beginning of what you can experience with hulu on xfinity. Tv made simple, easy, awesome. Lou were back with civil rights activist and the head of the Woodson Center, bob woodson. Bob, i want to go to your point about thing this is a battle for the soul of the country thatll be won in the streets, not at the polls. I want to just put up a number of statues, go back to this issue, if we may. Put up that list, if you would, of statues. Of antislavery figures in this country who the mobs have tried to topple or at least have attacked. Could we have that full screen, please in please . There it is. Ulysses s. Grant in san francisco. Abraham lincoln at the National Mall in washington d. C. The civil war africanamerican soldier tribute in boston. Abolitionist Mathias Baldwin in philadelphia. Union admiral david fair gut, and the farragut, and the list dose the list goes on. The street right now is attacking, and in those instances ignorantly so, symbols of the people doing the right thing, working in the midst of great historic, you know, turmoil to do the right thing and succeeding. And they changed history. Particularly for africanamericans in this country. How could there be a victory in the street given what is right now filling the street, and that is hate . Well, first of all, you forgot also, theres one youre missing, Frederick Douglass statue was defaced as well. Lou right. Im sure im missing a lot of them. Its just a matter of time before theyll go after dr. King. Remember the 1619 new york times, they did not include dr. Kings name, nor Frederick Douglass because they believe thats why this is not about racial injustice. This is a fight against the integrity and ideals of this country. And they have to be do defended that way. But the people, lou, that have to lose are the weakest. Those are the people in these grassroots leaders, people who were former drug addicts and former inmates whose lives have been salvaged through redemption. It is redemption that defines the best of america. And is so that its also been proven that when you cannot defeat the truth, one of the steps toward defeating truth is to destroy evidence of the truth. So because these statues like the emancipation is evidence of americas redemption against slavery, it is important for them to remove evidence of that truth. And so thats why in pushing back against it, samuel adams had something to say about that. He said neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universe aally corrupt. And heres what he says is the solution. If virtue and knowledge are defused among the people, they will never be enslaved, and this will be their great security. What were doing at thed Woodson Center the Woodson Center is arming those insurgents who are, exist in the thousands in low income communities who are pushing back against this assault on their values. But they dont give, they dont get the recognition or the acknowledgment that they deserve. Lou well, and finish. The only lye lou the rino republicans, if i may say the go ahead. Lou the rino republicans, if i may say, bob, are instead right now pandering to the black lives matter activists. The anarchists. Theyre talking about, instead of solutions, theyre talking about surrendering. Lou standing up exactly. Ill name names. John cornyn, ron johnson, the list goes on. We have republicans standing up for nothing. The left, meanwhile, is in the streets, and they are spreading hate and lies and exploiting those who they want to pretend they are trying to help. Theyve been trying to help them for 60 years now, and dependency is their only offering. Its time for this country to understand we have a president whos done something about the condition of, and the standard of living of minorities in this country, and thats donald trump. Hes achieved the lowest Unemployment Rate for africanamericans in history. He also is getting very high approval numbers for a republican, i will say, upper 20 among africanamericans. Let me just say lou these are important numbers for the poll as well as the street. The last word. There are some great Jesse Burrows in detroit, ray coones in wisconsin, the pharaohs coming together with the josephs to reclaim this nation. And there is going to be a rebellion thats going to come from among those suffering the problem. Im hopeful, im optimistic, and i believe in this nation. Lou you know, i do too. I if its going to be decided in the streets, id like to just, before we wrap up here, understand better what you, what you mean by that, because im thinking right now this election this year the most important is the most important of many important elections in our lifetime. It is, but we are at Woodson Center with our 1776 unites, were developing course curriculum, were developing videos, were developing a whole strategy to arm those sleeping giants in the black community with the tools and the information that they knead e to speak for themselves they need to speak for themselves. The way you undermine the lefts moral authority is to empower those in whose name they say they are acting to speak for themselves, to say to them they do not represent us. And thats the way, how you can win this battle. Its an insurgency. It worked in the second world war, and it can work now. Lou and bob woodson will make it work, if work it can. Bob, thanks for being with us. Look forward to our next discussion next week. Bob woodson. Thanks so much and happy fourth of july. Stay with us, well be right back. Lou President Trump today telling fox business what the threat of a joe biden presidency would have on markets and the economy. If he got elected that is an overhang over the market because the market would crash. The market would go down by tremendous amounts. The people around him are radical left. They are going to raise taxes. They are going to raise regulations. They will put everyone out of business. It would be a disaster. Lou a disaster. A good thing we wont have to worry about the biden presidency, isnt it . White House Press SecretaryKayleigh Mcenany today addressed the ouster of the seattle chop protesters.
