Spiking cases of coronavirus. Not entirely. Lets go to Jackie Deangelis. Reporter it was news the markets climbing higher because of news of potential positive data coming from an ongoing pfizer, buy on tech covid19 vaccine trial. That got the ball rolling this morning with the optimism. Remember, the market looks at it this way, the sooner there is a vaccine the sooner businesses can resume in the normal way without threats of reclose you are sure or slower reopenings. In texas, testing sites are being flooded in the state as it extend as ban on elective surgeries. Last week, texas shut the bars, reduced restaurant capacity to help reduce the spike of coronavirus cases. That flowed to other states. Theyre looking to that as the model. Here in new york city, it definitely postponed Indoor Dining because it is closed spaces believed to be more problematic. American airlines is taking even another step, sort of turning a blind eye to this, resuming full flights starting today, ahead of the july 4th holiday but the cdc director is criticizing the airline for the decision to book those middle seats, calling it quote, a substantial disappointment. Meantime in company news, were looking at macys because it reported nearly 4 billion in losses because it expects the pandemic to impact the country for the remainder of the year. It doesnt expect another shut down but still, the worst is not over here. Finally you mentioned that adp report. It is positive. The private sector rehired 2. 37 Million People. That was a little bit under the expectations for june but it was that revision in may of lower number of job loss, 2. 76 million to revised positive three million that was the good news here. So you can see that, weve got little good, a little bad. Markets are tentative, that is why we see the seesaw action today, which weve seen for quite some time. Neil we have jackie, thank you my friend, Jackie Deangelis following news the new york headquarters. What is offsetting all of this is the news on the virus, whether were getting spike in cases that also leads to spike in hospitalizations. The latter has not been a big worry, certainly not a big worry when tragically comes to deaths. They have continued to go down. Our Edward Lawrence is following fast moving developments that involve the Vice President and dr. Birx trying to get ahead of this in some states seeing upticks, notably arizona, among others, right edward . Reporter yeah, particularly arizona. The two that you just mentioned, the Vice President and dr. Birx will land in arizona in about 2 1 2 hours or so they want to talk facetoface with the Arizona Governor to see what he needs Going Forward as theyre seeing a surge in cases and hospitalizations. Now the Vice President s spokesperson says fema added 62 medical disaster personnel in arizona. Now yesterday Health Experts on the Task Force Said masks work but the Vice President made it clear its a local decision. There is 12 states that were watching very carefully now, that have both rising cases and rising positivity. There is four states where 50 of all the new cases are happening. And so what we want to do is make sure that, that the governors, Health Officials in those states have the ability to respond in the ways that are most effective there. That has been the key to our success thus far. Reporter now in arizona the Vice President s spokesperson says he is taking all the precautions like social distancing, temperature checks and screenings for people that meet him. Arizona now barring gyms, theaters and water parks from reopening. Inperson schooling delayed until midaugust. 16 states so far paused or rolled back reopening because of the surge they see. Today also marks another big milestone. Not the coronavirus but usmca. New trading rules go into effect. The white house says it will create 600,000 jobs over the next five years. Senators touting the successes. President trump new instinctively, intuitively, for many years the trade deals in the United States almost given away jobs to Foreign Countries exporting those, not only the economy but the jobs. We had United States multinational corporations taking jobs away from the United States and sending them overseas or south of the border. That didnt need to happen. This levels that playing field. Reporter that is the secretary of agriculture touting the successes there. Democrats are worried though mexico might not follow through, specifically with paying workers making autos 16 an hour. But that is exactly the reason the u. S. Trade representative says they did not delay implementation. The u. S. Use enforcement provision to make sure mexico followings through. Thank you, neil. Neil thank you my friend, Edward Lawrence following fast moving developments. I want to go to sean ohara, very good read what is happening in the markets. He is in charge of pacer etf, the president there. Sean, were just off a strong, Strong Quarter to put it mildly for the dow, the s p and nasdaq, all up to levels we hadnt seen in some cases in decades. What normally happens in the quarter after a big performance like that . Well i think it is logical to think that things will slow down a little bit. You will see volatility as it pauses to try to find some direction. We had sort of 90 days in here where nobody cared about any of the numbers. Everybody knows there is lots of people, some 40 Million People lost their job. Everybody knows we unplugged the economy. So were sort of washing out all the numbers if you will for the remainder of this year, looking for next year on guidance where markets ought to be trading. One thing getting in the way is the short run is a spike in cases. That could slow everybodys expectations down. At some point around the corner as we get into the election cycle what is going on there probably has impact as well. This has not been a very traditional election cycle. There havent been a lot of Public Events out. It hasnt been on the top of peoples minds. I would expect well do a lot of figuring or sorting of information out over the next 90 days, to try to determine whether or not things will ramp up quickly as everybody hopes. Or they will slow down. Whether or not well have a change in the white house and a change in control. Whether well have potentially negative tax policy and some increase in regulation. Which drove a lot of the markets returns for the years prior to this year. Neil you know, im wondering at what point polls stick in peoples minds . Now as you point out, have in the past, very early. But if those poll numbers remain where joe biden has a comfortable lead, even in battleground states into august or september, typically, not all the time, that, thats a sign whoever is in that lead goes on to win. Not all the time but, what, you think the markets do if come september these polls are still looking like theyre looking . I think it creates a challenge for the markets. The only poll that matters is the poll on the last day when we all cast our votes as we learned in the last cycle. Were in an interesting time as it relates to these. The market will take a look at things to make its own judgment what it thinks is going to happen. Weve been benefiting from the markets perspective on lower tax rates and deregulation and making things easier for people to move forward. If we go back to a more restrictive policy, god forbid we get more draconian approach to this with some of the folks being mentioned that will have a they have effect on the market Going Forward. People will put that into the thinking and well get some discounts where we are. Neil well watch it closely. Sean, thank you very much. Thank you for having me. Neil the dow barely budging to you as well. The dow still in and out of positive territory but its really been a bit of a tug and pull here. So well keep you posted on that. Also keeping you posted on the way the media treats the president. You kind of know how that goes, the way the media is treating well, the guy who wants to be president. Take a look at this. What consequences should he face if these allegations are true or if these reports are true . If there, if these allegations are true and he did nothing about any of this, then in fact i think the public should, unrelated to my running conclude this man isnt fit to be president of the United States of america. I was told nbc, mike. Mike, doesnt have to follow me every day around the country. Have you begun to prepare for debates against President Trump. I can hardly wait. Mr. Vice president , good to see you. We all hope you continue to do through november as often as possible. I always get in trouble on the last question. Neil all right. I dont know, kinder and gentler is the word, certainly not a typical press conference when you see the kind of questions President Trump gets. Not that that is bad, shouldnt it be consistent . Michael goodwin thinks so. Pulitzer prizewinning columnist, much, much more. Joins us now. Very stark contrast, i always tell people, whether what you think consistency is in order and it wasnt in order there. Hello, neil. You get the sense this is a press corps that is on joe bidens side. I think we know thats the case, that they dont like donald trump. They dont like him politically but many of them dont like him personally. I think that, for them, getting a replacement would be everything and biden of course, part of the obama administration, treated gently, all through his eight years as Vice President. I saw a story the other day, for example, on fox news, that i had inseen anywhere else, i havent seen it since, that the exorbitant amounts that biden paid to the executives of his cancer charity, that basically gave away no money, but paid astronomical salaries by Charity Standards to its executives. That is the kind of thing if donald trump did that, we know how his charity was treated by the media. That is sort of the thing that is the double standard that has been going on since trump came down the elevator, escalator. And the media clearly wants joe biden to be the next president. Neil well you know, i would say, you know, the president will get a lot of what comes at him from the way he responds and maybe agitation he delivers but fair is fair. If youre going to go after the president , as you say on charities and other related issues you should at least apply the same standards of Vice President. Coverage of the Vice President , i saw the same exchange with the press as everyone else, i didnt come away with heroic image he did a great job. I find him stammering a lot, trust me, im younger than the Vice President. That is me every day. Dont get me wrong. That was fair criticism to say, he lost his place. He seemed to stumble. He seemed to look out of touch. Point it out but, no, im reading media reaction, i thought it was fdr. But i, that is where i think you do a disservice in the media when if youre going to be tough and an sob on one, and apply the same tough standards on the other. I dont see that. You know, neil, seeing the bias in the media is a lot like seeing a lot of ugly things. You cant unsee it. And sew once you see that bias, once you recognize its there, then you take a fairly routine event like yesterdays press conference, and you realize what softball questions they are, what a gentle approach to it. Now donald trump is probably more accessible than any president in modern times. Biden has been hiding. One reporter we heard you say i hope you will do this more often . Donald trump does it routinely and yet he gets no credit for that but the media, by the same token does not blame biden for not doing it. So the double standard is from the word go. It is in every question that is asked virtually, it is in how the stories are played. What stories are selected. What the lead is. How it is displayed in newspapers. Where it falls in the rotation of television. The bias, it just reichs. Reeks. I agree with you. All were asking for is a single standard. That is what American Life is really about. We all play by the same rules. There is one standard for everybody. And the media in many ways historically helped to promulgate that idea, has totally prone down in the age of trump because it so loathes him, it will break its own rules. The fbi broke it the own rules to try to stop donald trump. The cia did, the media does. That is, that is what were witnessing throughout the country is this sense of double standards that donald trump is so bad that no rule, no law, no standard can with stand it. We have to break them all. We have to do that to defeat donald trump. That is the message that we see loud and clear every day in the american media. Neil i know people see things through their own prism. If you dont like the guy, you will be negative about the guy. The president is no fan of mine. I get that but my point is, whatever standards were applied calling balls and strikes to get it right, the same should be applied to the former Vice President. Seems like a fine human being, dont get me wrong. But that was not a churchhillian performance yesterday. I dont think youre being unfair to point it out, to use some examples to have it out and discuss it. It doesnt work the other way. But let me switch gears a little bit. Right. Neil some thoughts got to a New York Post cover today thanks to your really focusing on this Police Funding cutback that they want to get done in new york city. You made it very, very clear, you talk about, stabbing him in the back. Stabbing him in the front. You dont like this. Neil it this young movement, protesters, demonstrators, defund the police, people dont understand the history of crime in new york. They want to blame the cops for everything bad that is happened but in fact the police helped to save new york. They were the, they were the saving grace of this city, over 50 years we have seen two tremendous trends in crime. Starting in the mid1960s, crime shot up in new york and most urban areas. And starting with the, in lasted until the 1990s, until the election of Rudy Giuliani in 1993 and beginning in 1994 we see crime going the other direction. We now seem to be at another turning point. In this atmosphere, to cut the police is crazy. Youve got murders are up by 25 in new york in the First Six Months of the year. 25 . That is a huge increase. It is not a spike. It is a real trend now. And, to cut the police force, to say were not going to replace officers. Were going to cancel the next recruiting class, that is a sign that says we are not going to enforce the law as vigorously as we did in the past. You couple that with decriminalizing, a lot of public disorder issues. And the bail, socalled reform laws, that make basically let everybody out as soon as theyre arrested, and you have a real recipe for a new era of high crime and Violent Crime that i believe is being ushered in intentionally by politicians who know better, who see what happens when the police cant answer or dont answer 911 calls. When they get there, theyre not allowed to make arrests. If they make an arrest, the person is released. This is, really a formula for disaster in new york and across the country. Neil wellput. Michael goodwin, thank you very much. To michaels point now, imagine youre thinking of going back to work in new york if youve been sheltered, youre thinking twice, especially when you hear they might be cutting and Defunding Police departments. Then youre looking to visit new york as a tourist. Do you think youre more or less inclined to do that . After this. Hey, can i. Safe drivers save 40 guys guys safe drivers save 40 safe drivers save 40 safe drivers save 40 thats safe drivers save 40 . It is, thats safe drivers save 40 . Hes right there. Xfinity x1 just got even better with peacock premium included at no additional cost. No strings attached. Just say peacock into your voice remote to start watching today. Neil by now you know whats happening in new york. Other cities too, talk about disbanding Police Departments, cutting budgets in new york. It could be to the tune of more than a million dollars. All that said and done maybe closer to 1 1 2 billion dollars, part of that money of a six billion dollar package Law Enforcement figures get. It will delay the recruiting class, push it off. Mayor says it will not affect Police Personnel but the numbers are the numbers t worries my next guest, darren porcher, former nypd lieutenant. Lieutenant, great to have you, and thank you for all your service. You puts must look at this and say, man, oh, man, what the hell is going on . This is horrific to say the least. The mayors failure to have leadership. Failure of the nypd is creating massive holes in staffing. As it relates to the state of anarchy in new york city, we just havent had protections necessary to protect the citizens, 8 1 2 million citizens of new york city. The place is going to hell in a hand basket at a record pace and mayor de blasio is look towing defund the nypd by one billion dollars. You have to look at this from the perspective of immediacy. The immediate immediacy, people are protesting creating sense ofage arcky, shooting going through the roof. Violent crime is going it direction we havent seen since the 1960s and 70s. As i mentioned earlier, his leadership is causing us as new yorkers a catastrophic failure as a result. Neil you know, im just worried about the impact, to say nothing of your old colleagues in Law Enforcement, whether they feel like getting up going to work. Talk theyre arranging a sickout to make their point. I wouldnt blame them. Also what it means to the citys, new york citys economy when tourists hear this and say, you know, maybe that is not the place i want to be if theyre dialing back their police and then, to say nothing of those returning to work, who might say you know, im nervous about going back to the city now with the virus and everything else. The last thing i want is to start worrying about crime. It has a doubleedged sort of a hit. Youre absolutely right. From an economics perspective, it is multilayered. The first component is we have people that are leaving new york city at record paces in connection with residents. The second component is, we have tremendous and robust tourist industry here in new york. However, you have many people that are not willing to come to new york in the wake of the crime epidemic is plaguing the city. As the elected official in charge of the city, that being the mayor, he has unfortunately been not able to identify these faults and as a result were continuing to spiral out of control and it goes back to you need the right to switch, you need to do it immediately. Make the necessary triage and put new york city back on pace. You can either make this opportunity or miss this opportunity. Unfortunately not just the mayor but the city council as well is failing and theyre missing this opportunity as a result. Neil just incredible. Darren, thank you very much. Again, thank you for your service protecting folks such as us, darren porcher. I want to get away from from thr rest teal issues on the planet and look up, the spacewalk around part of that dragon launch and Chris Cassidy was already on the iss this will take some hours. Spacewalks are very tough to juggle and handle. In the case of both of these gentlemen, they are two of the more experienced at it. They make it look easy but it is just a reminder that we are back and, these astronauts particularly in the case of mankin will be on the space station through the end of august. I dont know what the plans are for mr. Cassidy, but were keeping an eye on it. More after this. Tada did you know Liberty Mutual customizes your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need . I should get a quote. Do it. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Neil all right. Gets back to the issue can you trust the chinese. They say when is it comes to trade, absolutely. Discoveries over some things coming this way, rich edson has discovered that are raising new concerns and bizarre concerns at that. Rich, what are you hearing . Reporter good afternoon, neil, and Customs Officials in newark have seized a large shipment of hair that Officials Say they suspect was created with forced labor in shinzhen, china. U. S. Officials say theyre still analyzing these products to confirm their origin. Think include Hair Extensions and wigs that are worth more than 800,000. This morning the federal government issued a supply chain warning to businesses instructing them to rid their operations of goods made with forced labor. Along with treasury, come commerce with dhs, eliminate supplied links to forced labor throughout shenzhen, china. Ceos should read this notice closely to be aware of the reputational and legal risks supporting such assaults on human dignity. Reporter u. S. Officials say theyre especially targeting human rights abuses in shenzhen, china, where the Chinese Government inturned more than a million muslims like uyghurs to surveilance, indoctrination and forced labor. President trump held told actionist he held off sanctions officials in the camps because it would have interfered with the trade deal with china. On that seizure, custom boards protection Officials Say this is a demonstration to the Business Community that the u. S. Is serious about getting rid of their supply chains of forced labor. Back to you. Neil wow, that is a weird one, buddy. Rich edson, thank you very much. Gordon chang, reading all of this. Of the. Gordon, there have been odd things getting out of china. This might take the cake here. What do you make of that . We know uyghur women have been forced to give up their hair to be used in Hair Extensions and other products. We know this is essentially a crime against humanity. When we come with things from china, parts for assault weapons were found two weeks ago. Really interestingly, counterfeit one dollar bills came into minnesota about a month before the george floyd protest. Nobody counterfeits one dollar bills for profit. This i think is extremely suspicious because, this is just, there is no other explanation that china actually was trying to fuel problems in the United States with those counterfeit currency. Neil in that, someone would use that, it would lead to arrests. Of course in the case of george floyd, reportedly he had a counterfeit 20dollar bill. The family says he had no idea it was counterfeit but the chinese might be doing this to incite violence, to incite incidents here . That is an inference. You know, we know, neil, that in chinas semitotalitarian state nobody can counterfeit currency without the knowledge of the communist party. There is obviously some Party Involvement here which means it is political and we have got to be very concerned. We dont know the answer to these questions, neil, we need to ask the questions in public, because they go to the core of our relationship with beijing. Neil you know, gordon, i was hearing what dr. Fauci was worried about yesterday, this other flu, like a swine flu, that has markings certainly of the a swinedelivered virus and maybe pandemic potential and im just wondering, what you know about it and what the chinese, either know about it or are acknowledging . Anything . Yeah. This is an h5n1 type of virus which means it is related in some way to it the 2009 swine flu epidemic. This time it was beijing responsible and working with the International Community and allowing the International Community to hear about this which is in contrast to the coronavirus where beijing took actions which inevitably led to the spread of the disease. So we have to think about the deliberateness of chinas actions with regard to covid19. This time it looks different. And so at least we can see were at least on the right track. Neil do you trust the chinese now, or especially with the crackdown on hong kong, saying to hell with the u. S. Pressure, to hell with everyone saying were bad and not going to deliver . Warts and all this is us to the world, screw the world . That seems to be the kind of the posture theyre taking. Oh absolutely. What we saw in india on june 15th, the killing of 20 indian soldiers. China reinforcing its positions. Moving into territory in india that is not disputed. The increased tempo of dangerous intercepts of u. S. Navy in the global commons. All the incidents in the South China Sea and the East China Sea since the middle of february. The bold assertion by a chinese diplomat, kazakhstan, a sovereign, independent sovereign state should be part of the peoples republics. All the comments by chinese diplomats about internal affairs of countries i could go on this is really frightening, neil. We can see they might actually carry through on some of those threats including those to invade taiwan. Neil when youre a wounded animal, youre just pinned to the corner that could make you the most dangerous at all. Kudos to you, gordon, you were ahead of this before anyone else, talking about years ago. Thank you very much, my friend. We are following that. Were following our own market as they start the first day of the third quarter, second half of the year. We came off a record one. Right now the tugofwar between the spikes in cases which is still worrisome, virus cases in this country and the spike in jobs, which seems to be winning out, which is also going on in 24 country. Which spike wins . At days end well know. I wanted more from my copd medicine, thats why ive got the power of 1,2,3 medicines with trelegy. The only fdaapproved, oncedaily 3 in 1 copd treatment. That is the dilemma for a lot of parents across the country weighing whether the return of their kids to school for inperson classes, or, just continue doing so virtually . Sometimes it doesnt even matter what the School Districts are dictating. A lot of parents are saying for better part of valor i will go this way but which way is this way . Garrett tenney following all of that. Garrett, where do we stand on this . Reporter neil, there is a lot of questions about the coming school year particularly with the recent surge in new coronavirus cases, it is only complicating the Decision Making process. The American Academy of pediatrics is saying get children in class as soon as possible even if the pandemic is ongoing. They say that covid19 is rarely spread by children, warns keeping students out of school could carry more health risks than sending them back. In its latest guidance the group argues beyond losses of learning, kids will be at greater risk, kids will have harder time identifying physical, sexual abuse, Substance Abuse and depression and suicidal ideation. Dr. Fauci emphasized in his testimony the importance of getting kids back to school. There are things that can be creatively done, modifying things like the school schedule. Alternate days, morning versus evening. Allowing under certain circumstances online virtual lessons. It is very important to get the children back to school for the unintended negative consequences that occur when we keep them out of school. Reporter teachers who would be in regular close contact with students are not as anxious to get back in the classroom though. Nearly 1 3 of teachers in the u. S. Are over the age of 50, putting them at greater risk when it comes to the coronavirus. When Fairfax CountyPublic Schools in virginia announced plans for some students to be in their seats this fall, the president of the Teachers Union fired back saying our educators are overwhelmingly not comfortable returning to schools. They fear for their lives, the lives of their students and the lives of their families. Neil, a number about Teachers Unions across the country have suggested they are open to the idea of going on strike if schools reopen without a whole lot of precautions in place. Neil . Neil garrett, you might have touched on it, but arent the experts saying it is very difficult to catch this from kids, even in the event they have it . Reporter that is what the data is suggesting may be the case at this point but again the medical researchers have been investigation all along there is still so much we dont know about the coronavirus, particularly any longterm impacts this could have on both children and adults so that is another concern theyre having to weigh in on the Decision Making decisionmaking process. Neil definitely makes sense, if youre a parent, you dont want to chance anything. Thank you very much, garrett following this all closely. Forget about going back to school, what about going back to Public Schools. In illinois we find jeff flock where theyre trying to entice people but i guess not immediately . What is going on, jeff . Reporter yeah, well, you know, there are rules and the pool is open. Perhaps you can tell from my cover up here a little different cover up. You can wear bikinis you have to wear a little bit more. You see kids right here. This is a swim class. As you can see the instructor is wearing a mask. The kids dont have to, because theyre splashing around in the pool. These are the regulations. Theyre also markings so people stay six feet apart, that sort of thing. This is one of the few pools in the chicago suburbs that is open. I have jonathan as the township supervisor. Good morning. Reporter good morning to you. This is great that youre open. What are you doing . We have done Everything Possible we can do to be safe according to the governors regulations. Well once a week take a specialties infect tant that will be spread throughout the facility. We have shifts between sessions where everything is going to be wiped down and social distancing. So its pretty comprehensive. Reporter i want to look at the list now. 50person manages. Only 50 people allowed in the pool at anytime. Check the temperatures before they get in. Face masks, if were standing on the pool deck which we are. Take a shower at home. Dont shower here. Exactly. Reporter you feel like youre going to be okay . I think well be safe. If we have an escalation in cases well listen to the governor and do what we need to do. Reporter got it. Jonathan, thank you very much. Neil, it is all about doing this the right way. I guess i havent covered my knows nose properly. Taking proper precautions. Were seeing kids. These are parents that say it is okay. We think it is safe. So were going to be here. Neil . Neil nice to see. Again if everyone does what they should be doing hopefully well see more of that back. Jeff, thats a great story. Encouraging development at the same time. Jeff flock, on all of that. We have a lot coming up here, including right now what has been happening at the corner of wall and broad. We were talking with a guest earlier about whether these polls that show joe biden has a substantial lead are kind of seeping into the market thinking . They dont really stick until august or september. I always argued it doesnt really matter whether you like the president or not, wall street, i often said, you get tired of hearing it, theyre not red or blue, theyre green. They like making money. This president they made a lot of money. Under a biden presidency they will be paying more taxes. He in fact told them that. What is the fall out from the campaign . More importantly how is the hunt for the veep going . After this neil all right. We will know probably in early august who joe biden has chosen as his running mate. Its down to a few prominent names and a couple that maybe are not so wellknown. Charlie gasparino has been following those veepstakes, joins us right now. Charlie, what are you hearing . Yeah, they are names that are popping up, seems like almost every other day. Tammy duckworth you hear recently. Susan rice. We hear every now and then, the former ambassador during the obama years. Ive been talking to wall street executives who are close with joe biden who know what is going on in the campaign, they point out joe biden has not made a Firm Decision but if theyre betting on the mood of the candidate, on whats being discussed internally, heres what theyre saying. We need to pick a candidate since were ahead, at least as of now, we need to pick a candidate that does no harm. We need a safe choice. The safest choices theyre seeing right now at the top of that safe list is Kamala Harris, the senator from california who has, you know, she obviously has a name. She was a u. S. Senator. She has Proven Ability to raise money, which is what she does. She brings, you know, joe biden doesnt need california to win the election. That is kind of a lock for any democratic candidate but there is going to be questions how long he is going to last. Whether he does two terms, one term, you know, people talking about his age, harris apparently fits the bill someone who can fit in there pretty easily. Some concern about her. Loyalty issue is always concerned with her. As you know she went after him famously during the debates but again she checks the boxes the campaign is looking at. That is what im being told. Close second is val demmings, the florida congresswoman. Former police chief. Africanamerican. Also brings, could bring the state, if the dems win florida, they think they have a good shot ceiling the deal, making it early night if that is the case. Here is one thing that is really interesting when im talking to these folks, neil. They think, this thing, the race with donald trump despite the polls right now will tighten up dramatically. They think there are real possibilities of the economy getting significantly better, off its lows. I mean it is in rough shape now but it is improving. They think there is a chance it gets significantly better f there is a covid vaccine, that is effective that could help the economy tremendously and the markets. So theyre not taking anything for granted. They believe theyre still, theyre basically in the fifth inning in this thing. At least what theyre telling me they dont believe they have it wrapped up. So if you look at it from that context, neil, you pick the person who does the least harm and it is coming down to at least based on what im hearing and maybe there is a, maybe this changes tomorrow, still Kamala Harris and val demmings. We should point out elizabeth warrens name is often in the mix. A lot of people think she could have a role in the administration. Im hearing likely she will stay in the senate. She is not being seriously considered for the vp job. In the senate, if particularly if the democrats win the senate, which, if you think biden is going to win the presidency, they win the senate, she will have a roll role shaping Economic Policy in the majority. That is something that markets will really have to weigh Going Forward, more so than if she was treasury secretary f she was a senator leading the charge on new legislation, she may replace doddfrank with warrenaoc. That is something people in the markets should worry about if again, if the polls continue as they are. But again, biden people think it will tighten up. We shall see. Neil, back to you. Neil thank you, my friend. Very much, Charlie Gasparino in the middle of that. Right now markets are keeping an eye certainly what is happening on the economic front particularly with new jobs and private sector job growth weve been reporting but what likely outweigh that, the coronavirus and spike in cases weve seen. That has tempered the buying today. News that they have been accelerating, that is cases by about 80 and in a little more than two weeks s that trend going to slow down . After this neil all right. Just an image i want to share with you now, the ongoing space walk on board the International Space station. This involves astronauts behnken who was launched on that dragon capsule about three weeks back, but hes with Chris Cassidy, who has been on the International Space station for a good number of months right now. They are changing a battery, to put it very simply. Theres got to be a simpler way to do this. Can you access the thing from inside . Anyway, they have been out there for the better part of six hours. They have another couple of hours to go. Im sure its not just replacing batteries. I dont mean to make light of it. But these are remarkable images we are getting. Before i think it was just over the indian ocean and you get these incredible shots from about 250 miles up, but again, it just reminds you that they are up there doing their thing as you are on earth, everyone is frantic and shouting at each other, doing their thing. They are above all that and right now, expanding the Technology World where we are now launching ourselves back into space. Sometimes cameras fritz on you but that happens here on earth, too. We will keep an eye on that. Also keeping an eye on whats happening at the corner of wall and broad as the markets attempt to sort of weigh more on the Positive Side the good news mainly on jobs. Stunning growth in private sector job growth over not just the latest month but the month before that, when a big loss was turned in a big gain. The millions more in the private sector could be telegraphing good news we will get in the general employment report that will be out tomorrow. Remember, the markets are closed on friday so that granddaddy of all economic reports will be coming out tomorrow morning and that will get a lot more attention as well, but offsetting that is this concern about the increase in coronavirus cases we have been seeing. Right now, running at about an 80 clip. That is an 80 increase, particularly in some of the states you know a lot, texas, arizona, south carolina, even california now, where the governor is trying to clamp down on large social gatherings to get this under control. Jonathan surrey following it all for us in atlanta. Jonathan . Reporter hi, neil. Public Health Officials say multiple factors are driving this sudden increase, a big one, though, is looking back on memorial day. You had all those large gatherings. What we are seeing now, they say, is a delayed effect. People starting to get sick, showing up in doctors offices and hospitals as the cases become more severe. But there are other issues as well. They say people, especially younger folks, are becoming complacent about social distancing and Wearing Masks in public. The nations top Infectious Disease expert says the number of new daily cases could increase to 100,000 if Current Trends go unchecked. Some of the film clips that youve seen of people congregating often without masks, of being in crowds, and jumping over and avoiding and not paying attention to the guidelines that we very carefully put out, we are going to continue to be in a lot of trouble, and theres going to be a lot of hurt if that does not stop. Reporter the use of face coverings has also become politicized so a leading republican senator is calling on the president to help reduce the stigma of wearing a mask. Unfortunately, this simple lifesaving practice has become part of the political debate that says this. If youre for trump, dont wear a mask. If youre against trump, you do. Thats why i have suggested that the president occasionally wear a mask even though in most cases, its not necessary for him to do so. Reporter the surge in cases is among young and middleaged people and although they are at lower risk of complications and hospitalization than older folks, they can still transmit the virus to those who are more vulnerable. Public Health Officials are urging caution and neil, this morning medical experts at Emory University called a News Conference to urge government and Business Leaders to set up guidelines to require people to wear face masks at their establishments. They are also very concerned about the upcoming fourth of july holiday, when more gatherings are planned. Back to you. Neil all right. Thank you, Jonathan Serrie in atlanta on that. Meantime, i want to take you to new york where they are voting on a new budget for the city and it includes pretty steep cuts in the Police Department funding. They get in excess of 6 billion and want to lop at least 1 billion off of that. We have been following it very closely. Where do they stand now . Reporter the protesters are not happy with the budget that passed overnight, neil, and they are still out here, hundreds of them, at city hall park. No signs of leaving. We have seen a Police Presence out here as well. We just dont know what the plan of action is yet. We dont know how long this encampment behind me is going to be allowed to continue. Last night, things got a little hairy. Protesters started to build barriers right in the middle of the street to keep police out. Three people were taken into custody this morning. No word yet on charges. This as that new budget passed just after midnight, 1 billion in cuts to the nypd. It includes the elimination of two of the four nypd classes and also reducing overtime spending. It comes at a time when shootings are up in the city compared to this time last year and the city faces a 9 billion loss because of coronavirus. Some protesters and Council Members feel the budget did not go far enough. They want to see a hiring freeze on police and also they have been criticizing the move, of moving School Safety officers rather from the nypd budget over to the department of education budget. New york city public advocate says that he has powers to somehow prevent the budget from being executed but the mayor responded today, to that, saying that the advocate is simply misinterpreting the law and the budget will go through. Heres the mayor this morning. We will continue to respect peaceful protests but we obviously also have to keep the city moving and running. We will figure out as always how to strike that balance. I think the bottom line is, you know, wherever there is protest, we will work to make sure it is safe and peaceful. Reporter and mayor deblasio also added that he will continue to support the peaceful protesting, but the city really just needs to move forward now. Again, we dont know exactly what that means for the encampment that you see behind me. We are reaching out to the Mayors Office right now to find out what happens next. Neil . Neil you know, if they are going to stall a recruiting class for this year as a result, wont that mean fewer potential police . The mayor says no but i didnt understand that. If new ones would not be coming on board, at least not immediately, right . Reporter thats right. That was the plan to ensure that new officers were not going to be added on to into the nypd. Thats going to happen but protesters say again, it doesnt go far enough. Theres a couple other demands that they have including eradicating homelessness and they want to see a virtual voting system. Theres a couple other things that they have asked for that they just dont feel like they have gotten just yet and they are not leaving until they get it. Neil got it. Thank you very very much. Following that very very closely. All this comes at a time when protests are still developing around the country, particularly in seattle, where that sixblock nogo zone remains pretty much under the control of the protesters and demonstrators here. It was supposed to break up by now. I guess it has not. Jason rantz joins us, his show very popular in the seattle area. I thought by now there was a general agreement they were going to break things up and theyre not. Whats going on . Well, as of right now, it is broken up. The cops went in earlier this morning, they were able to take back control of the general area. They havent yet completely taken control. They are still removing all of the debris and the stuff the protesters left over early this morning around 3 00 a. M. , officers started to stage their movement and by 5 00 a. M. , they were moving in. As of about 20 or so minutes ago, there are 31 arrests. We expect that number to go up some as there were some folks who just refused to leave. There are still some protests there and the latest we are hearing on the ground is the organizers behind chop are basically regrouping and they are going to attempt to do something, whether or not its going to be at this one specific east precinct or whether or not they are going to move to another precinct as they have had their eyes on the west precinct which is pretty significant for seattle because it houses the 911 call center. We will figure that out as the hours go on. But right now, the police have taken back this particular area so the chop that we once knew is certainly not the chop thats there now. Neil what is the mayor saying these days . The mayor isnt saying anything. On monday morning, there was another shooting at chop with a 16yearold being killed, a 14yearold being injured with gun violence. That was what precipitated this new urgency to take this back. But since then, she hasnt put out a statement, she hasnt put out a tweet. The only thing she has done is put out a letter demanding an investigation on a Council Member, a socialist Council Member here who led one of the protests to the mayors front door. The mayor is pretty ticked off about that which is kind of ironic as the mayor called chop a block party, a summer of love, but then of course, when it comes to her home, all of a sudden its dangerous and threatening. Neil amazing. Jason rantz, thank you very very much. Good chatting with you again. Im glad they are at least breaking up and hopefully some order is restored. In the meantime, we are still skeepg keeping an eye on virus as we said. Obviously all of this changes if they ever come up with treatment or a vaccine. You heard a lot about dr. Anthony fauci saying much the same. Hes optimistic maybe by the end of the year, early next year, Something Like that could be available. There are a lot of Companies Competing on that front. Pfizer and biontech, for example, are getting some early good findings from data of an ongoing vaccine study of their own. Dr. Debbie joins us now. Doctor, the vaccine, any vaccine from any company, whoever gets it or close to it, thats a game changer, isnt it . Definitely. This is promising news thats come out today. Its promising with a few caveats. They are looking at different doses of this vaccine and a relatively low dose seems to create antibodies in the volunteers, relatively safely also. So the issue there is that in terms of traditional, our traditional studies of vaccines and viruses, we have looked at antibodies as the way to tell if a vaccine is effective, if its something thats allowing you to fight the virus. Thats what they are using as their measure. Now lately with coronavirus there have been a lot of questions if actually antibodies protect you or not. We have used them in terms of treatment, a person has been sick and developed antibodies, that person can donate antibodies to other people who are still sick. But we are also seeing people who had little or no symptoms who have antibodies and its unclear if those cases if the antibodies actually protect them. So theres a little bit of a contrast. The good news is that this vaccine seems to be creating antibodies in certain folks, at least if they get two doses and granted, its a small number of volunteers. But that being said, their measure, the scientists are using antibodies as their measure but that may not be an effective measure in the grand scheme of things, because for example, the fda has said that what they really want is not to see whether there are antibodies but to see whether the vaccine actually prevents illness in people who are exposed to the coronavirus. Neil what do you think of these spikes we have been seeing in some states having to reverse phasedin reopenings and the like . Does it worry you . I havent seen a similar spike of any magnitude, for example, in deaths, if anything, the reverse, and even in hospitalizations, minus again, whats been happening in arizona and maybe in texas. But what do you make of it all . Well, on the one hand it kind of tells us that theres a lot we dont understand about the virus. I mean, the numbers are going up in terms of the diagnoses. Some people say its because we are doing more testing. Some people say its because of the reopening. I think its probably a combination of both and maybe some other factors as well. But i agree with you, the key numbers to me are really how many people are being hospitalized, because what we care about is not whether somebody has a positive test or whether they have mild symptoms, but whether they are sick enough to be hospitalized and whether or not they die. Those are the most important measures. So because those numbers, they are going up but theyre not going up as quickly, especially in states like new york, where we have had a lot of reopening taking place, we have had protests, we have had a lot of Different Things going on, the numbers dont quite match. So its unclear if theres something that is protecting certain folks from the virus, if the people who are most susceptible actually already got infected or if the numbers are much, much higher than we actually think and therefore, people who have had it who now have developed antibodies or some other way of fighting the virus, if they are acting as a shield towards the virus. A lot of things are not clear. In terms of the reopening, you know, many people say we should slow it down. I think theres pros and cons to that. If we slow it down, maybe we will slow the number of cases, maybe, but on the other hand, if we look at history, lets say for example spanish flu or the influenza pandemic back in 1918, that spread across the world and its thought to be one of the factors in terms of revolutions, lets say in africa and india, across asia, because of all the civil unrest and social upheaval. I think, you know, if we do things that harm the economy and harm peoples quality of life, that could also ignite a little bit more of that social upheaval that we are already seeing. Neil yeah. Its a tough balance. Doctor, thank you very very much. Good catching up with you. In the meantime, i do want to bring your attention right now to trade deals because they are still very much in vogue. Im not talking about the one with china thats sort of touchandgo. Im talking about the one we have with canada and mexico that apparently is now ready for a go. After this. Neil you know, if only autos could sell like houses or have the same good news because while the Real Estate Industry is soaring right now, not so much when it comes to the Auto Industry except when it comes to tesla, which right now given the runup that its had, is the biggest company, auto company on the planet, surpassing toyota. Not too shabby when you consider how it started with sort of like this curiosity, batterypowered electric cars that were not deemed that much of a future. That was then. Tesla, the biggest of the big right now. We are following that. We are also following whats happening with the Auto Industry in general. Not benefiting nearly as much as tesla is. Thats because the environment is still waiting to see whether this new trade deal that goes into effect today between ourselves and the canadians and the mexicans will produce the jobs the industry hopes. Randy parker joins us right now, hyund hyundais Vice President of national sales. Good to have you back. Does that deal make a difference one way or the other . I mean, i always think its the underlying economy that decides it but what do you see . Good morning, neil. Thanks for having me. You know, unfortunately, im not involved in any of the trade negotiations or discussions, but what i can tell you is that we are primarily focused on producing great cars and suvs that come out of our great plant in alabama. So if you want to talk about that, im here to share what i can but unfortunately, im not involved in any of the trade negotiations or discussions. Neil no, thats fine. I do find that with any successful trade deal, whether its this one or prior incarnations, you have a good underlying economy, you are going to have good sales. Now, we have obviously had an economy almost dragged to a halt because of the virus. Are you seeing any signs things are picking up . So let me say we have learned a lot over the past 90 days. At the beginning of the pandemic, we didnt want to just admire the pandemic. We wanted to attack the pandemic. We wanted to demonstrate leadership and confidence in the company and hence, we launched extraordinary actions at the beginning of the pandemic to take really good care of our employees, our dealers, as well as our customers. I think its paid huge dividends in terms of our performance in the months of may and in june. In may our business was up 5 . In june, our Retail Business was up 6 . In terms of the employees, as you can see, im now working from my home. I have been for the past 90 days. In terms of our dealers, cash is king in our business. We wanted to make sure our dealers were flush with cash to weather the crisis and last but certainly not least, we wanted to make sure we took very very good care of our customers and gave them peace of mind if they purchased a hyundai product. So not only do consumers get americas best warranty that comes along with two years complementary maintenance, but at the same time, we offer job loss protection in case our customers lost their jobs due to covid19 and we would make up to six months payment on their behalf. I think all of those actions we took at the beginning of the pandemic has really fueled our sales and performance over the past couple of months. Neil all right. We will watch closely. Randy parker, thank you very much. Be well. Meantime, just a footnote on this tesla issue surpassing toyota. I meant to say as the most valuable automaker in the world by stock value. Its market cap thank you, appreciate it. Thank you. Byebye. Neil thank you. I love those delays there. Anyway, toyotas market cap is 203 billion. If you didnt hear that, stick around. I will repeat it after this. Hey you, yeah you. I opened a sofi money account and it was the first time that i realized i could be earning interest back on my money. I just discovered sofi, and im an investor with a diversified portfolio. Who am i . i refinanced my Student Loans with sofi because of their low interest rates. The president , as you know, right now is in a world of polling hurt. Of course, thats what his critics are saying, too, and the polls are real and you better get with it, mr. President , and recognize that you just might not be reelected. Its quite another when one of the lions of the senate, powerful republican in his own right, senior republican at that, very influential, beholden to nobody, calls them as he sees them, thats what Chuck Grassley said, saying the president Better Change his course or hes not going to get reelected. The president tends to listen to people like that because Chuck Grassley doesnt suffer fools gladly. One of the many reasons why i have such Great Respect for him. Senator, very good to have you. Well, thank you, neil, very much. Neil you know, yi found your comments interesting where, you know, this approach the president is taking isnt working and furthermore, you referred to the fact where a lot of republicans pounce on joe biden that hes, you know, just mailing it in and campaigning from his bunker, that that approach, you know, worked for mckinley and he got elected president so be careful what youre saying. Do you think as things stand now, senator, donald trump is going to lose this election . No, i dont think so. Because i think that hes in about the same position he was four years ago from the standpoint of what the polls show, then you know the polls were wrong. But let me give you an example. 124 days until the election. This elections about the future. Its about 329 million americans. Its not about one american, just trump, and as long as trump keeps it on what he wants to do for the American People and thats what hes going to do, im sure, hell get reelected. Also, i think that emphasis upon in his twitter, because he tweets to about 80 Million People, every day he puts out a positive message, its going to help him and the extent to which he has the feelings of the people like those that are murdered by policemen, he can support the policemen for sure, we all have to support the policemen, but when somethings done wrong, then you speak about that with empathy and the more empathy the president can show, the more hes going to be go up in the polls. Neil he has not done that, senator. Hes not done that. I know the wall street journal and editorials to which you yourself referred had echoed a lot of this conservative concern and saying that speaking of the president , quote, he still has no second term message behind beyond his own grievances and this historic repudiation will drive him out of office and risk taking the Senate Majority with him. So times awasting for him to do the kind of thing youre saying and hes not. I can answer that for you. There is a second term agenda. Its just a question when they make it public. I think the sooner they make it public, the better. But it is about the future. But its also about a president delivering on the promises he made in the election, whether it would be two Supreme Court justices or whether its today we are celebrating the u. S. Mexico canadian agreement going into effect. This is a president who more than three other president s knew what was wrong with nafta and he says we are either going to get out of it, we are going to change it and he changed it for the better and most president s run on a platform, but they dont stand on that platform and if theres one thing about this president thats very predictable, what he said in the campaigns, he has tried to carry out the three and a half years that hes been president of the United States. And i think thats something you dont see very often in president s and when this president starts talking about the future instead of the past, Start Talking about the 329 million americans and not just about himself, i think you are going to see this very dramatically turn around. Neil well, you are probably right about that but he doesnt do that. You talk about how hes different than other president s on trade. Hes different than other president s on going after reporters, on, on, on. I mean, hes the leader of the free world. Does he waste his time on these ad homiinem attacks to take away the good things he is doing and the good Economic News and all of that and the comeback for the worst of the virus, thats falling on deaf ears because hes blitzing the airwaves with nonsense. The answer is yes, you are right, and i hope the president hears you and i hope he hears me saying youre right. And its very easy. Just forget about yourself. Think about all the 329 million americans that you are making a better life for them already and you want four more years to continue to make them a better life. Neil you make a lot of sense. Senator, let me ask you. One of the other issues thats come up on the virus, lot of people are secondguessing what the president did and when and all of that. Even saying that the reason why a lot of americans dont bother with masks or follow up on some of the things doctors say they should do that would avoid governors going back and changing their phased reopenings, is the president doesnt wear a mask, for example, and they figure if hes not, why should they. Do you think he should wear a mask . Yes. And i wear a mask. Most senators wear a mask. I kind of like a mask, because when i go to the airport, nobody knows who i am. I dont get bothered. Neil i like that. Thats a very good answer. Senator, always a pleasure. Thank you very very much. Thank you. Goodbye. Neil senator Chuck Grassley. Again, whatever you say or feel on this subject, the reason why hes wellregarded is he really doesnt give a tinkers cuss who he offends or what he says. He just states his case very blunt, telling this president weve got bigger and important things on the horizon here. Focus on that because youre doing a good job. Just keep doing it. Dont get sidelined on this other stuff. More after this. For when you trade . I want free access to research. Yep, td ameritrades got that. Free access to every platform. Mhm, yeah, that too. I dont want any trade minimums. Yeah, i totally agree, they dont have any of those. I want to know what im paying upfront. Yes, absolutely. Do you just say yes to everything . Hm. Well i say no to kale. Mm. Yeah, they say if you blanch it its better, but that seems like a lot of work. Now offering zero commissions on online trades. Blake burman had a chance to chat with the president of the United States. Its a testament to how big a deal blake is. Im curious as to what he learned. Blake, what can you tell us . Reporter we did just speak with President Trump over here at the white house a little while ago. I got about 12 to 15 minutes or so with the president and started immediately asking him about what the next step phase four relief package might look like, exactly what does he support and what you are about to hear from President Trump suggests at least that he wants a fairly sizeable package Going Forward. Watch here. Mr. President , thank you for talking to fox business. We appreciate it. Lot to get to. Let me start with phase four and what might potentially come later this month. Another round of direct payments for individuals. Do you support that at this time . I do. I support it. But it has to be done properly. I support actually larger numbers than the democrats but its got to be done properly. We had something where they wanted, where it gave you a disincentive to work last time and there was still money going to people and helping people so i was all for that, but we want to create a very great incentive to work so were working on that and im sure well all come together. Reporter you want the direct payments larger or the uninsurance benefit . I want money getting to people to be larger so they can spend it. I want the money to get there quickly and in a noncomplicated fashion. And they wanted to make it too complicated. Also, it was an incentive not to go to work. You would make more money if you dont go to work. Thats not what the countrys all about. People didnt want that. They wanted to go to work but it didnt make sense because they make more money if they didnt. And we had some of that. So we dont want to have that. We want to have people get out and we want to create a tremendous incentive for people to want to go back to work. Reporter so a lot there in just that one minute. First off, the president saying he does support direct payments to individuals and not only does he support it but he supports a level larger than the democrats. The heroes act that House Democrats have passed calls for another round of 1200 to each individual adult so it seems as if the president wants a fairly sizeable second round payment going out across the country. But secondly, i also asked the president about Unemployment Insurance benefits. Remember, Mitch Mcconnell yesterday, the Senate Majority leader, talked about liking the idea of extending out the Unemployment Insurance benefits, that 600 federal plusup at least for those who are unemployed at that time. The president told me that he is going to be having a meeting with mcconnell, he said i believe later this evening, so we expect at least at some point in the upcoming days to talk about this very issue. Bottom line, neil, it seems as if the president at this point is backing a fairly sizeable phase four package. By the way, i also asked him about minimum wage. As you know, there are three states plus right here in the district of columbia today that are increasing the minimum wage level. I asked the president , the criticism for businesses has been is now really the time to do that. I asked the president whether or not he agrees with those businesses. You will hear his answer coming up in the 3 00 hour when you see the full interview but also, the president suggesting to me that something might be done on this front, at least from him, in the coming weeks. Very interesting there. Neil . Neil you know, you are already getting to be a big deal, now interviewing the president. Youre just going to be impossible to deal with now. Reporter by the way, i like the purple tie day. You got it, i got it. We goit going todt it going tod you. Neil all right. Thank you, my friend. Look forward to the full interview with the leader of the free world, talking obviously with blake burman. A lot of news there, no doubt. We are on that. We are also on howie mandel. You know him. Hes helping out a lot of small businesses. That you probably heard as well. But he was a germophobe before anyone was a germophobe. Imagine if we all practiced that. You can count on us. Neil all right. The things changed in the world right now with the global spike in cases hitting the u. S. Hard but in europe, things are calming down, especially in italy. Thats a start of a big surprise there, because italy surprised the world by having the sharpest spike in cases. They have declined mightily. We have more from milan on what they are seeing right now. Amy . Reporter well, things are on an even keel, but the mayor of milan has basically said basta with this smart working. Thats what they call working from home over here. He said it was effective, it was needed when the pandemic was raging but now that things really do seem to be under control, hes concerned about what this is doing to the economic fabric particularly of the city. Eight million italians are still working from home and their companies are letting them do that, and some like microsoft here, are saying that they think smart working is actually more productive. Db n not just the deploymef technology that allows it, its some of the changes, the technology is just enable iing then you have to change the organization, the culture, the objectives to empower people, to allow them to work flexibly, to work anywhere collaborating. When you put all those pieces together, you can achieve up to 25 of capability. Reporter but the Economic Situation is not great for everyone. Businesses that cater to Office Towers and bustling Downtown Centers are hurting in milan. This new restaurant run by a sister brother team used to have a big lunch crowd. They have had to close for lunch because there is no office crowd around to feed and it hurts because they had just been hitting their stride. We were at the end of february, we were on television with everybody talking about us. This was a lot of people, new clients, lot of work and in two days, everything changed in such an incredible way. Reporter so neil, theres a lot of soul searching going on right now. Italy is back to business. A lot of people, to wrap up, are still working from home, choosing to take that route, but it is hurting so many businesses that need a little hustle and bustle in the town center. One big Real Estate Company here, jll, says they are looking at all sorts of different combinations for the future, including something they call club and hub, meaning that maybe workers who are scared to commute get on Public Transportation or dont want to waste the time, could potentially spend a lot of their time in a satellite office, perhaps in a suburban area where a lot of people tend to live. Neil . Neil thats not a bad idea. Amy, thank you very much. Amy kellogg in beautiful milan, italy. You know, businesses have the same pressure here, especially those that are just hearing from their respective governors we are going to delay your reopenings here and maybe put still more strings on you. Howie mandel has been dealing with that and helping businesses that have to grapple with that. Hes coming up. This is decision tech. Find a stock based on your interests or whats trending. You know howie mandel as a gifted comedian and much, much more, but you know, hes a known germophobe, jokes about it, wrote a bestseller about it, heres the deal, dont touch me. Very very concerned about that long before, you know, the whole world got stuck with this virus. But hes quite seriously helping out those dealing with this virus, particularly businesses and you know, helps them out one at a time, better than eight thus far. He joins us right now. Good to have you. Its great to be here. Neil how are things going now . I mean, you are a noted germophobe. You have expressed your concerns about that. Im wondering in this environment, your policies of the way you go about life, thats in vogue right now. Well, i would hate to be on trend, you know. I hate being on trend. Yes, its in vogue. This is killing me, you know, mentally. You know, ive talked about my Mental Health issues in the past and thats part of being a germophobe. This is not fun. I dont like being right. I wish i was wrong. But you know, we are all in this together and hopefully theres a light at the end of the tunnel and what i have been spending time doing is maybe helping in trying to solve problems, first and foremost, our economy and you know, ive talked to you before, i come from retail and i come from business, and that is my, you know, and i still use all the rules and all the things that i learned as a retail person in what i do right now, you know. Ultimately with my career, im just selling myself and im fascinated and partnered with this Company Called tuck shop live whos blown the roof off of it for me. You know, i thought this was beyond whats happening now in our economy, you know, and in our world and the pandemic, i always thought, you know, we were kind of behind the ball in change. I know that technology is a windfall for a lot of people, but ultimately, when you drive down Middle America, main street Middle America, everybodys still got those bricks and mortar institutions that, you know, just business and ive always wondered, ive always said to my wife even way before this, listen, i know what rent is per square foot. I know what the profit margin is on whatever theyre selling. How do they pay the rent for this place, pay the mortgage on their home or the rent, wherever they live, and pay to fill the place . Theres got to be a change. Right now, i think necessity is the mother of invention. You know, talkshoplive came up with this technology where everybody can have their own Home Shopping network. You sell your wares. If you open up, i have dealt with some companies, there was one company, a small bakery in illinois called hungry monkey bakery. This mother and daughter opened up a bakery because their banana bread was selling so good at the flea market. Last week, i did old arthurs, they have a barbecue sauce, also in illinois which is a family institution, 160 years. They have been making this barbecue sauce. But a lot of these people, you know, kind of just depend on who walks by the store, who comes into the store. Well, in these times, nobodys walking by. Neil how do you pick them out, howie . How do you pick them out and know all right, this woman is on to something, this guys on to something . How does that process go . I think the process has been done by my partners at talkshoplive, knowing who they are and how they have been affected by the pandemic and whats going on in the world right now. Theyve got a great story to tell and they are great people and thats because we are broadcasting so we look for those stories. But the truth of the matter is, the technology could work for anybody. Where you are at the mercy of whatever the traffic was on the street, the internet opens you up to the entire world. So these businesses that have, you know, relied on customers in the neighborhood coming in and spreading the word, now have the internet. Anybody can download talkshoplive. Theres a buy button and from the comfort of your own home or business, you are open to the world. Theres just a buy button. They sell it, talkshoplive does everything for you, all the back end work of collecting the money. All you have to do is wrap up your product and sell it. And to that end, im surprised that Something Like this, well, they invented it and came up with the technology before there was a pandemic, but i have always said that we are like stuck in the stone age, the economy and business. The average person in Middle America is just stuck in opening up a store and waiting for that traffic or waiting for that customer, putting an ad in the paper. Now you can and this is helping businesses. You know, when you talk about hungry monkey which is a bakery, she had that great banana bread, we went on talkshoplive, we sold out whatever we had. The social distancing packages where you can send, you know, baked goods to friends or you can have them delivered to yourself, but now she has this mail order business which was much bigger and much more advanced than what she had opened up. She was trying to open up a small bakery. Now shes employing people and they are sending them all over the nation and all over the world. The same goes for, you know, old arthurs barbecue sauce. They didnt know there was such a great vast, you know, empire to be had out there of potential customers in the world and how do you reach them without building a sign, without taking out expensive ads . You know, its kind of easy. Hello . Neil we dont have about a minute here. Your fame is standup comedy. Youve done a number of great hit shows. Deal or no deal, americas got talent. A lot of shows stymied like broadway which will be shut down the rest of the year. How long do you think it will take to get back . I dont know how long it will take to get back and i dont know what exactly is happening in all of those businesses. I will tell you this will force you to find different ways of doing things and thats the exciting part for me. You know, it may not look like it did before. Everybody says we want to get back to normal. You know what . Were forced right now to move forward. Maybe, you know, we just, agt went back on the air. We shot the middle rounds. We shot them in a way that was so much better than had there not been pandemic. We were forced to shoot in front of a driven simon said regardless of the world situation, this is exactly how were going to do it next year. It forces you to find new innovative ways to celebrate that. Talk shop live is that. Neil obviously have the business sense. Helping a lot of folks out. Howie, thank you for that. Thank you for being an inspiration as well. Howie mandel still helping out folks in a major way by giving folks the exposure they deserve. To Charles Payne. Charles neil, thank you very much.
