Political price to pay. President trump also getting down to business while he prepares his plan to address the issue of racism, policing, and the evolving opinions of america. What should we expect to hear from him . I have one of his top advisors coming right up. All that and so much more on making money. Charles i want to begin the show with the notion of always having to assign a reason to every move in the market beyond the idea of more buyers or sellers or more sellers than buyers. What makes this happen is sometimes pretty obvious what makes the market go around but sometimes it is a mystery. But its also reported as fact as the Financial Media is typically echoing the same talking points, but those talking points are often generated somewhere and often have nothing to do with fact or even honest opinion. Yesterday i got to admit, i was livid at the notion that the market sold off on a quote unquote spike of covid19 cases. The so called spike wasnt even close to numbers in recent days. I mean, take a look at the recent spikes in how the market actually reacted to that news. Every single time in the last three weeks the stock market went higher the very next day which is when those numbers are reported. I think the spike narrative was generated for political reasons, to point a finger at the so called red states that have opened before others, although california and oregon are also seeing a climb in their numbers, the commentary for those states, well, it is just more testing. Guess what . So are the others. Check it out. Real spikes in testing in all of these states. If you look deep enter the data deeper into the data, some increases are from unique factors like Nursing Homes or meat packing outbreaks. Assessing the stock market is almost always a matter of opinion, but there are times when there are deliberate dishonesty out there and over the last few years, folks, i think theres been too much influence in Financial Media that regards personal feelings about politics, not facts and certainly not trends. The media gets to craft these narratives and then they get to pounce on them over and over again. I dont think it is fair to consumers and investors. Certainly not consumers of financial news. Now, by the way, yesterday if you recall, 20,839 spikes according to the new york times. Well, this morning the number came in much higher. By the way, it is going to be coming in higher. You will hear some officials, like today, a fed official mentioned the pandemic lasting longer. That sent the market a little bit lower. The bottom line is theres a setup. Were now set up and well find ourselves with headlines always coming out and they will legitimately actually read greater spikes in the ensuing days and weeks will be great excuses to try to talk the market down. Rob luna is here with me now, with a Financial Company and kings view Wealth Management president and fox business contributor scott martin. Let me get rob, let me get on what im talking about here. Yeah. Charles you know, if we had six or seven days of more than 20 new cases in covid19 and every single day the markets up, you know, i just think politics. We saw it by the way with the trade war. We had tariffs in place 360 billion dollars in tariffs in place, and every day negotiations are this and thats why the market is down. And negotiations are this and thats why it is up. I think a lot of it is politically driven, has nothing to do with financials and everything with an ax to grind and thats not fair for our viewers. I agree. When you were talking, i was saying preach charles, preach. I mean, this is exactly what investors need to hear. People getting on here telling you this reason why were going up and why were going down. The reason we went down yesterday charles is we rallied 40 in 50 days off the bottom, thats 8 trillion in market cap. There was a lot of people to take profits. We needed to place that on something. The fact of the matter is charles if anyone listened to what the fed said, we will be in an Interest Rate environment 0 till 2022. Theres a lot of people with cash on the sidelines that need to talk this market down, and i think thats what you are seeing right now. Charles well, you know, theres always a variety of reasons for it to go down. Scott martin, i want to bring you in, i know you are on the phone. Again, ive seen this evolve since President Trump has been in office, and i really believe that the people out there that just dont like President Trump, and i think its skewed the reporting. I will reecho this over and over again. I think ultimately our viewers are try to navigate this market deserve better. I agree, charles. Sorry for the phone in by the way. You guys look way too welldressed for me to be a part of this. I appreciate i can be on audio only. You dont want to see what im wearing compared you guys. Theres a schedule to what some of the Financial Media has in their mind as far as how they can affect the election in november. They tried with the hearings on james kavanaugh. They tried with the hearings against the impeachment. They tried the russian invasion. You know, there are things that are happening where youre trying to get the market down ahead of november in my opinion. And the funny thing about whats going on, though, with respect to the market even bouncing back from today the economy is going to win out, one way or the other. If the timing is right, it will probably come before november. We will see gdp rebound and job growth as we have already seen, so therefore to me this has been a Good Opportunity as of yesterday to kind of start weighing into some of those stocks that weve talked about over the last couple of weeks, small mid caps airlines and banks especially. Charles yeah, in fact, i went with southwest today as a matter of fact. Ive got a couple questions. Lets hear them rapidly if we can. Go back to you rob we know covid19 cases will increase, perhaps that increases volatility. Are you repositioning yourself in any kind of way for a summer of headlines . I mean, honestly, charles, we didnt do anything yesterday, and what im really hoping for is a little bit more of a pullback. We talked last week zoom is a stock im looking to get in around 200, hoping it gets there. Adding to our dividend paying stocks. Powell is talking about 0 Interest Rates until 2022. If you want to sit in the 60 basis point ten year when you can get a company like pepsi thats paying 3 and has been paying that dividend since 1965, that doesnt make a lot of sense. So stick with those dividend payers and look for some of these names that are dominating like zoom. Charles rob, we didnt bring in you today with the boring pepsi. Im just joking. Speaking of zoom, scott, we see a serious battle right now, right, the pendulum on wall street, fear and greed. Obviously february and march, it was all over in the fear and now it is coming up to greed where people are buying up broken valuations. Which one is winning out and why does it matter . It depends on the day. Some of the days, charles, that the market is in a better mood. Obviously some of the worst stocks look the best. But i do think that the difference in those things is whether youre a longterm investor or shortterm trader. I mean, certainly if youre a shortterm trader like frankly some of our clients are at kings view, days like yesterday are great days to pick up some of that trash, if you will, but on longer term views, i agree with rob, i mean stuff like pepsi, coke, i know thats super boring, even stuff like costco is kind of boring these days but that stuff as it pulls back here, intel is really nice for the longterm if you have some free cash on hand. Charles absolutely. By the way, im glad you make that point theres a distinct difference between a trader and an investor. We should always remind folks of that. Rob, scott, thank you very much. Great stuff. Have a good weekend. You too, thanks charles. Charles small cities across this nation are facing fiscal calamity from the coronavirus pandemic. Kristina partsinevelos is in allentown which is now back in the position of having to ask the federal government for help. Kristina . It is a cry for help. It is not just here in allentown, pennsylvania. Its a lot of cities across the country that have just been left out of that almost 2 trillion dollars Coronavirus Relief fund, and now theyre worried they are going to fall into financial ruin. Listen in. People have gotten stimulus money for Small Businesses. I think it is time that the federal government looks at municipalities of our size. Hes talking about size, but this city here is only about 121,000 residents, so unfortunately, they dont make the cut. You need to have at least 500,000 residents in order to qualify to get any relief money, and thats whats causing so much concern as many stores weve been around the entire time has shut down, and the fear is theres going to be massive budget holes. What i mean by that is they are expecting revenue to drop in cities and towns all across pennsylvania by 40 . I spoke to one councilman who said hes expecting specifically for allentown a loss of almost 9 Million Dollars possibly, 10 Million Dollars. This comes at a time when allentown is trying to reinvent itself. Its really changed over the last five years. They were a manufacturing hub, and theyre trying to bring in more businesses. Its even called the little apple to a lot of the residents here. I spoke to somebody here who told me everybody calls the little apple because new yorkers want to get out of the city and eventually make their way here, but a lot of that revitalization could be put on hold if they continue to be in the hole financially, and thats why theres this cry for help. It seems across america, the concern is that the money is going to larger municipalities and not small town america. Thats why theyre asking for help. Charles . Charles kristina, yeah, my family we had a Family Reunion there on my wifes side, three years ago, great town. Were all hoping for them. It is so great. It is so friendly. Charles it is. They are great there. Our next guest is with us. It is kind of sad because we all know the song allentown and still talk about it being in dire straits. It is something that you said recently i read about the real world consequences if congress doesnt act or take action before july 31st. I want you to expound on that because almost every day now im hearing more and more republicans saying weve done enough. Yeah, so i think it is a mistake to say that right now congress doesnt have a responsibility to act. Theres a couple reasons why. One is that weve had one good month of job data, and that does not a trend make. Last friday we saw that jobs were added to the economy in may, which was a surprise, and thats a great silver lining, but listen, the reason jobs can be added right now is because the economy is just starting to reopen. Businesses have a little bit of certainty in states that have given them guidelines and protocols to start opening up their doors, but in allentown, youve probably got a restaurant that has to operate at 25, 50 percent capacity. That means theyre cutting their workers hours. Their workers are not getting back online to 100 of where they were before. Now, this is happening while theres a july 31st cliff thats in the making here. The cares angt extended and act extended and expanded Unemployment Insurance benefits until july 31st. If they dont get renewed or there isnt some kind of off ramp, those workers who dont have their jobs back in full scope again, theyre left hanging. What are they going to do at the end of july . Thats the source thats hanging over congresss head right now. The question is, how do we keep workers whole . How do we keep businesses online so that as the economy reopens slowly, we make sure these workers are going to get back to work eventually . Charles mattie, also, though, for those folks on both sides of the aisle who are looking at more stimulus, if you will, it feels like you still wonder how these small towns and even Small Businesses are going to get help. I read a piece today where theyre talking about federal tax credits and somehow, you know, letting them be pulled forward, if you will, for large corporations, being pushed by the National Manufacturers association, the chamber of commerce. But when we Start Talking about saving the allentowns of the world, is there something more specific that theyre missing . Well, charles, that was actually a bipartisan solution, the cares act to allow businesses to smooth out some of their losses to ride through to the end of the year. I think thats an important piece of tax policy, but the other part of the equation is how do you make sure that workers know whats coming next for them too . It is one thing for businesses to know whats coming down the pipe, but those workers need to know that they are going to have a job to go back to when this is over, and they need to be able to plan for one thats going to happen. So what im proposing is that Congress Really needs to have a bridge for those workers. I dont think that we should be extended Unemployment Insurance in perpetuity. That will create downward pressure on getting the recovery going but we need to give businesses and workers certainty that will get the economy back online. A number of proposals out there, one from Ranking Member brady, one from senator portman that would bonus out these workers getting them back to work and their jobs and get the economy moving again. Charles mattie, thank you very much, always appreciate it. Thanks, charles. Charles bill hemmer is joining me next on the pulse of the nation. In all of his years of reporting, he hasnt seen anything quite like this. Also theres a new Public Service announcement out featuring white celebrities taking responsibility for race and well its divided twitter. Some are applauding it while some are saying it is just cringe worthy. Of course only hollywood would think so highly of themselves to think that a video apology would make things right. A statue in virginia in fact honoring Police Officers killed in the line of duty has been vandalized, covered in red paint now. This is of course the same park where a statue of Christopher Columbus was thrown down into a lake last week. Joining me, host of bill hemmer reports, bill hemmer. Bill, i know you have been at this. You look young, but you have been at this for a long time. I would love to know your the pulse of the nation right now. I mean, what is it . And what can you compare it to in your professional career . A lot of things are changing before our eyes, charles. I think we can admit to that. I started in cable news on the National Level in 1995. That was 25 years ago. I was that big, charles. I used to think the election recount of 2000 was one of the more significant stories that i would ever cover and it was. You had an election. You went 37 days without a president , but in the end, things were resolved and no one died. So i take that out of the category. I would point to 9 11 clearly as with the impact on our country. I would point to 08 09 the financial collapse, the lingering impact and the affects it had and how it changed so many aspects of our world, especially here at home. Then i would put the entire year of 2020 in that same category, charles. You had impeachment in january. Youve had covid ever since. And now youve got the riots and the protests and the death of george floyd, and i just think there are so many events that are happening so quickly, charles, that you need to go away for the weekend, absorb it, take it in and understand it on your own terms. But if you were to ask me over 25 years, those would be the three stories that come to my mind. Charles its so intriguing because, you know, just what we have seen in this summer, this year, in america, includes part of all of those, at least with respect to public outrage and outcomes. Now we face the election. And already were hearing where some democrats are saying if biden doesnt win, that trump will have stolen it or if trump loses, he wont, you know, peacefully hand over power. Were bracing. I mean, were being told to brace for even a more outrage as we head into the election. I think you will see the protests continue. I think thats a ritual every four years, at least in my neighborhood of greenwich village, thats where it happens, charles. I expect to see that. With regard to the no control and what happens after the election, i would put that deep on the back burner, but here is what i find fascinating, charles, and just the last 18 hours of coverage with you and other colleagues here at fox, they cancelled cops. They cancelled live pd. In denver they are considering having no police in the schools next year. No knock warrant law was just outlawed in the city of louisville. Thats the Breonna Taylor story thats been getting a little more attention after george floyd. Charles right. But my point is all of this is happening so fast and none of that has to do with covid. Covids changing our economy. Its changing the way we use technology. All this is moving so fast. It is like it is like the song Buffalo Springfield 1967, somethings happening here, what it is aint exactly clear. Charles, this is going to take years for this to play out. If i were to put the year 2020 in my category of three stories that i believe were most significant, we are still in the middle of all of that, charles. We have time still to figure out how indeed it turns out on all those factors. Charles so interesting you would mention 1967, the mayor of seattle says its the summer of love and for the craziest reasons ever. Bill, i cant wait to watch your show later on. Bill hemmer reports on fox news, starts at the top of the hour. Thank you, charles. Good to see you. Charles thanks a lot, my friend. To bills point, social media has been erupting, but now it is erupting for a different reason. Theres a debate on where the kid show paw patrol should be the next victim of cancel culture. Also why celebrities really in a psa taking responsibility for their racism, were going to break down the latest headlines that are dividing twitter making some of us laugh and making some of us more angry. We will be right back. I have the power to lower my blood sugar and a1c. Because i can still make my own insulin. And trulicity activates my body to release it like its supposed to. Were committed to helping ensure trulicity is available and affordable. Learn more at trulicity. Com. Charles has cancel culture gone too far . Protest over Police Brutality have called tv shows about cops into question, all of them in fact. Now some are saying enough is enough. Lets bring in Ashley Webster who is joining us with more. Ashley . Ashley yeah, its fascinating. Its been quite a week, charles. The cancel culture has set its eyes on hollywood again. Now the latest news is that amazon reportedly considering pulling all seven seasons of the dukes of hazard from its free streaming service. The reason being the shows use of confederacy images, mainly the shows iconic muscle car called the general lee and the Confederate Flag painted on its roof, obviously two clear nods to the south history. This report comes the same week as nascar banned the Confederate Flag and hbo max temporarily pulled gone with the wind from its streaming service. Amazon by the way has not commented yet. Meanwhile, there is a Building Movement on social media to end programs portraying good cops including animated ones like chase on paw patrol saying the show is a form of propaganda since you dont see the harm the cops also do. In other words behaving badly. Other shows like brooklyn 99 and bluebloods also getting backlash. Paw patrol has avoided any cancellation but the same cant be of two other programs. Wednesday saw the cancellation of paramount networks cops and ame Networks Live pd. By the way live pd was a realtime program following onduty officers. Its creator was dan abrams, the legal analyst who took to twitter calling out the so called twitter mob and he said this, im realizing that the vast majority of people criticizing live pd have never watched an episode. Criticize elements of the show and specific incidents, fair enough, but most of the negative seems to be generalities, which he says is sad. By the way, as for cops, it was just days away from its 33rd season. It was on fox for 25 of those. Theres still life after death for that program. Pluto tv, a streaming service owned by paramounts parent viacom announcing the program will remain available to its subscribers on pluto tv. The Production Company behind cops though as yet to announce whether it will try to find a new home for the reality series. And of course lets not forget gone with the wind and all the other things that happened this week, makes you wonder where it goes next but paw patrol i think is a step too far and does a disservice to a proper discussion on what is offensive from what isnt. Charles my grand kids love paw patrol leave it alone. By the way, ironically, real quick trivia, when bubba watson bought the general lee, the car from dukes of hazard he actually had the Confederate Flag removed and he took a fair amount of heat from it, but it was years ago. Maybe he was ahead of the curve. Ashley, thank you very much. Ashley i think he was. Thanks, charles. Charles hollywood, well they are at it again looking down at us from near ivory towers now the celebrities are done with coronavirus and telling us to stay at home, they have Something Else they want to talk about. They want to take responsibility for racism. I stand against hate. I stand against hate. I stand against hate. I stand against hate. I will stand against hate in love and will make my presence known. Until the cops must be prosecuted, they are murderers. Charles joining me now to react is host of reality check on fox nation, david webb. How did you feel when you saw that enticing and tantalizing heart felt video . Well, i think it deserves an oscar. Hopefully we can find a guy named oscar somewhere in hollywood that we can give to it. Can i just go back for a moment, though, to see what viacom really did america . They put one of their most popular shows behind a pay wall for subscribers. Hollywoods a bunch of hypocrites. They care about eyeballs on their programming and these hollywood elite liberals who are going to stand for well whatever their White Privilege or their hollywood elitist guilt stands for within their own mindset are now doing what . Are they going to perform biblical acts of contrition like weve seen on social media where white people are getting down on their knees and washing the feet of black people so they can prove how not racist they are . Hollywood is full of elitists who dont have to worry about living because they are behind the walls of their mansions. They dont have to worry about being with the homeless on the beach in santa monica or other areas in l. A. Because they are behind their walls. America needs to ignore them and look at the reality. Charles, we have issues to deal with in this country. We look at the issues and how we solve them. Americans need to look at that, how we solve issues of racism, of the underserved, economic opportunity, the things that we do to uplift people, not be lectured. Charles david, to that point, President Trumps going to hold a rally in tulsa, oklahoma. It is going to be next week. That was the site of the 1921 massacre of the black wall street. And next friday, thats also a big holiday marking the end of slavery, first in texas and then celebrated throughout the south. President trump says it is a celebration. Thats always been seen as a celebration, but now that he wants to get involved, they are calling him a racist. What do you think . I dont think he can win on these kinds of issues, unfortunately. You know what . He cant. So dont try. Just focus on what he said, what he told our colleague Harris Faulkner in the interview that the 19th was not a reason for it. I lived in texas as you know for close to a decade. Juneteenth is celebrated for exactly that, notification that slavery was over and the people get it. As far as tulsa and what happened in 1921, a horrible event, recognize it, mr. President , address it as you should fairly, but we are not static. We have evolved from where we are then to where we are now. Im involved in a project in tulsa. I know the town well. This is a town that doesnt deserve to be attacked based on some attack against donald trump. Charles david, you know, you know, we celebrate how how far weve come in this country while acknowledging how far we have to go. I for one am happy to see President Trump get involved. I love to see all president s acknowledge to juneteenth because i cant remember the last one that did. Talk to you again soon, my friend. Speaking of President Trump, he says that the white house is also working right now on police reform. Were working to finalize an executive order that will encourage Police Departments nationwide to meet the most current professional standards for the use of force including tactics for deescalation. Charles many are asking how will this help the black community in america . Here is Deputy Assistant to President Trump. Thanks for joining us. Theres all kinds of speculation as to what might be included this. Also theres, you know, a fair amount of precriticism which is typical for any kind of thing from President Trump saying it wont go far enough or anything else. Can you give us some thoughts of what might be included in this executive order . Well, ki tell you this i can tell you this, instead of defunding the police, the president is focusing on partnering with the police to create Better Police and community relationships. Thats at the heart of the issue. We have to have a better relationship with the police. And the police want to have a better relationship with the communities. But were going to make sure that police have the highest standards on use of force. We also are going to work with these Police Departments to give them the partnerships they need through partnerships with social services that would deal with mental health, addiction, and things like homelessness, those are ways to deescalate a situation, but its all going to start with that partnership, and we think we have the right partnerships on both sides, and the president is going to use his executive order to bring both sides together. Charles you also have other responsibilities there, including innovation, the office of innovation. I read this morning china is spending 1. 5 trillion dollars to leapfrog over america. I think a lot of countries are looking at us right now and this internal turmoil and they think this is their moment to strike. Anything from the white house about, you know, making sure that we stay number one in all the key areas in the world . Thanks for asking that, charles. Yesterday the president also outlined a vision, a vision for the most underserved communities throughout america. Since day one, the president has focused on forgotten communities because he always thought that in order for america to be competitive in the 21st century, we must get our best and brightest not just from harvard or normal places, but from inner city detroit, from the mississippi delta, to those areas that havent been reached in years and decades. And so were creating infrastructure for opportunities thats going to let all americans be a part of the american dream, whether its school choice, access to capital or just allowing them to be a part of the new healthcare infrastructure. Were going to create that infrastructure with local partners for everyone. Charles great news. We appreciate it. Come back any time. Well talk to you again soon. Thank you very much, charles. Charles another thing, folks, President Trump, hes also vowing that seattle will not be occupied by anarchists. Now growing questions on if that citys mayor and that states governor if they have absolutely lost control of the situation . Meanwhile we have gotten a reversal in the market since the show began. We call it the cp effect. One of the big battles though brewing beneath the surface the battle be e between growth and value stocks. What is it . How should you position your portfolio for the best of both worlds . Thats next. Came out of the gates pretty nicely, gave it all back on a little bit of maybe fed news, something out of the cdc. What we see is an example of the growing battle between growth and what they call value stocks. Nasdaq shot up higher at the start. And now its lower and value is up. The big question is, which one will outperform for the rest of the year . And can you actually be in both . I want to ask im calling him our allocation expert. Asset management ceo, you know, you have come on the show so many times and you have articulated how you have eased up somewhere and put money in one area, and i think investors are intrigued by that because its not you look at the market and see it is up, it is not always the same tide lifting all ships. Where are you looking now . When you get the wild gyrations in the market, the reasons why, whether its headlines that may not be accurate or the fed chairman meeting very gloomy, you have to think where can i participate and protect . You need to rotate towards large cap stocks. What you said is spot on. It is not that you want to pick one or the other right now. Theres been a secular change in our society, no doubt. Growth stocks win and they continue to win and will continue to win for all the reasons of working from home to Cloud Computing to Health Sciences and so on, but theres a lot of really good underloved valued companies. As an investor, you need to think, where is the trend and wheres the opportunity to buy stocks cheap . Thats in value. You want to tilt your portfolio to growth. You want to be in large cap stocks but dont leave value behind. They havent won in ten years. It doesnt mean they will never win again. It does mean you can pick some winners, pick some of the big names underloved right now. Charles i will ask you for a couple examples, though, but heres what i have noticed, when value came on, it got to a point where it was considered expensive, hence, you know, contradictory, the antithesis of what it is. No one ever says Growth Stocks are overvalued. It feels like when industrials are up 20 , materials are up 20 , Energy Stocks have made a remarkable rally, that theres a limit to where they can go, and all of a sudden, the buying leaves that area again. Well, because Growth Stocks trade on potential, what they could be, the change they will make. Value stocks trade on cash flow. So one, having a good dividend right now is never a bad idea. Thats why im thinking you want to have a good healthy allocation to some of those names. One of your prior guests said pepsi. Fine. Get a 6 dividend from from a tshat andt. You want to be selective in your value, but then rotate the names that are changing our society. Charles with less than a minute to go, how are you handling or bracing yourself for the periodic sharp declines that we had yesterday and well surely have for the rest of the year . Have dry powder when you get the opportunity to spend it. Rotate towards large caps. Hit your fixed income and up the credit quality, watch the high yield market, a lot to come. Own treasury, own quality corporates, own bigger cap stocks, rotate to neutral. Dont go 60, 70 percent, stay 55 equity, 35, 40 percent quality bonds, hold a little cash, and in the long run, when we get out of this thing, theres your chance to go long, just not yet. Charles i love all of that, particularly the idea of getting away from that 60 40 thing. I think it doesnt reflect even the longevity of investors these days. You are the best, my man. Appreciate it. Thank you. Charles all right, maybe youve heard of this already. In seattle theres a no cop zone. They call it chaz. Its captured the lefts fascination and of course President Trumps ire. The question though has the seattle mayor and their gover r governor, have they lost complete control of that situation . We will be right back. When you say what youre in the mood for, the xfinity voice remote will find exactly that. Happy stuff. If the groups happy, im happy. You can even say a famous movie quote and it will know the right movie. Thatll do, donkey youre expecting prince charming . You can learn something new any time. Education. And if youre not sure what youre looking for, say. Surprise me. Just ask what can i say . To find more of what you love with the xfinity voice remote. Whats going on, i will tell you if they dont straighten that situation out, were going to straighten it out. Were not going to let seattle be occupied by anarchists. Charles President Trump clashing with seattle officials after protesters there seize a six block area and they have created an Autonomous Police free zone outside the east precinct. President trump is vowing to straighten it all out if local leaders dont. Seattles mayor jenny durkan is calling the autonomous zone patriotic. Lets bring in District Media president beverly hallberg. She also says it is just like the summer of love. So, you know, just chill out and enjoy it. Yeah, they say this is going to be great, and it is a communal area and everything is so peaceful and yet it took a mob to force out police from a precinct and secure the six blocks. Im glad theres at least a Seattle Police chief who has come out and said in this area they are getting calls from people who live there and work there talking about how fearful they are and also saying that rapes and robberies are taking place. Yet, the police if they can get to the victims at all, theres a huge time delay. While our elected officials, local officials in washington want to pretend this is great and theyre succumbing to the mob, the reality is that people on the ground are the ones who are really harmed. Charles you know, beverly i believe this whole thing caught the mayor offguard, the governor offguard, when inslee was asked about it a couple days ago, he didnt even know what was going on. Now i think they are overcompensating, you know, the summer love junk. You know, it is just i think they are too embarrassed to say we blew it and now weve got to go fix this. Well, it could be that they think they blew it and they just cant backtrack, but i have also wondered if they are doubling down because they think this does benefit them politically, not just to criticize the president , but also to succumb as i said to this woke mob that they think this is going to help them in some way. Now, getting to the governor, him saying that this was news to him, honestly, he either is very incompetent and not knowing whats going on on the ground or frankly hes lying about the situation. Either outcome is poor. But the reality is they are getting a lot of cover from even the Mainstream Media who is still covering this as peaceful protests. They didnt cover it much the first two days, but they are turning their attention to it and saying it is peaceful, but as we know, theres no peace within this. Charles beverly, they might be getting a lot of cover from outside the Mainstream Media and politicians, but inside, alerts are coming out. Let me share one with you. Alert number two, the Homeless People we invited took away all the food at the capitol hill autonomous zone. We need more food to keep the area operational. Please if possible bring vegan meat substitutes, fruit, oats, soy products etc. Anything to help us eat. So they may try to paint a pretty picture of the summer love outside but inside it looks like a lot of turmoil. Its a pair di its a parody. You cant make this stuff up. They are asking for sunglasses and food. The reality is that free is never free. This is a socialist environment that they want to lift up in being the answer to oppressive capitalism, but what we find is that they need help. Theyre asking for people to bring them food. They even asked for the firemen to come in when there was a fire in a dumpster. Thats law enforcement. Charles yeah. Beverly, have a great weekend. You too. Charles its been the roller coaster of the session as we wrap up another big week that was full of even bigger wild swings. I think a lot of the Market Movement though to be quite honest with you has to do with the fed not being more accommodative. Lets bring in Wealth Management david nicholas. Heres what im talking about, everybody forgets, but lets walk through wednesdays session when they had the fomc. The market opens lower. The s p was down, down 26 points hour and half into trading. Then we turn around. We began to roar right as the fed announcement came out, the market rocketed. We were up 40 s p points from the session low, but then when that questionandanswer period happened, all those gains faded and we saw the s p close down 31 points from the high 17 points for the session and for the dow were talking about 300, almost 350 points from the high of the session. You know, i think the market wants powell to be clearer with respect to the fed potentially using the caps or any other measure and really they did not expect or want him to talk about caps on bond buying despite the fact it is 120 billion, i think unfortunately wall street is so addicted to the fed, david, that they wanted more. Charles, well said. I mean, the market is hungry for liquidity. And so i think if theres any element that we see powell back away from that, we see the markets sell off but it is nothing new; right . If you look back the past three to five years, we have had good earnings, but the markets have been tightly correlated to what the fed said. Maybe release the numbers and get rid of the press conference for a while. I think the market wants it but i think obviously in a normal environment earnings are whats going to drive markets. I think the markets are looking for Something Else and looking to the fed for guidance. Charles maybe it wouldnt have been so crazy, but powell so [inaudible] about our economy and today it was said the pandemic could go beyond the next couple of months, some jobs wont come back ever, so the rhetoric isnt matching the action. Im running out of time. I want to know the things that are most important to you as we go into the last hour of trading. I think today is important always going into the weekend. It could be interesting for investors. I think duration is key. I think time will pay off for investors. I think to find the company that you like, that you want to earn, that are quality, i think as we get into the fall, we will see markets go higher throughout the end of the year. Charles all right, my man, it sounds like you are saying stay the course and things will get better. Exactly. Charles i appreciate your thoughts. Always fantastic. Wish we had more time. Liz claman, i caught a falling boulder and i kind of turned it around for you. Lets see what you can do in the last hour of trading. [laughter] liz you did, my friend. You did because the dow was down 49 points after being up 800, so thank you. Im going to try and push it back up the hill. Charles you are welcome. Liz thank you, charles. Have a good weekend. We have a massive market rebound fizzling out heading into the final hour of trade for the entire week. The dow as i said was up exactly 837 points at its highs earlier today, but now as you can see, were Still Holding on to 279 points, but the s p 500 up only 20 up only 20. It had been up 86. The nasdaq just came back out of negative territory, up 44 points at the moment. Look, wall street is wrapping up its worst week since march 20th. Todays volatility
