In europe green across the board as investors look toward stimulus package in the euro zone, reported kristin lagard the u. S. Economy will shrink due to pandemic. Markets were mixed, tensions rise in hong kong, as you can see the hang seng down a third of a percent. Now, some of the top stories that we are watching this morning. More protests on the streets of hong kong overnight as beijing looks to crack down with new National Security laws as people gathered to oppose the bill that bans insult to Chinese National anthem, more than 200 were arrested. President trump says the u. S. Will announce a strong response to chinas latest move this week, possible step include sanctions on chinese officials and businesses. And more americans are headed back to work today as states ease lockdown restrictions, inperson dining returns to colorado and miami, california reopening Retail Services in los angeles, hair salons and barbershops opening up in other counties as well. Governor cuomo headed to washington this morning to meet with President Trump to meet at the white house. White house is now considering a bonus for unemployed americans, 450 a week on top of regular paycheck. And now this, hundreds of protestors once again clashing with police in minneapolis after 4 officers are fired in connection with the death of an unarmed black man in custody. Tonight, today, weather conditions are favorable, President Trump and Vice President pence plan to attend, watch it happen live at fox business later today. Protests in hong kong raging this morning, Police Firing pepper pellets. President trump asked yesterday about possible sanctions on china in response to chaos. Here is what he had to say. Can you tell us what you plan to do regarding sanctions against china for its pending actions against hong kong . Your question is early, we are doing it now. We are doing something now. I think you will find it very interesting but i wont be talking about it today, i will be talking about it in the next couple of days. Something that youll hear before the end of the week. Maria joining me right now Nuclear ShowdownArthur Gordon chang, Dagen Mcdowell, Mattie Duppler and former media chairman steve forbes, great to see everybody this morning, welcome. Gordon, good morning you. Thanks so much for joining me. Your reaction to what has taken place in hong kong overnight and what the president said youll know what we will do by the end of the week, do you think it would be sanctions on the ccp. Well, in hong kong, maria, in hong kong, maria, we have seen escalation because the Hong Kong Police flooded the streets and they were arresting people indiscriminately. Really this is an attempt to choke off not only freedom of speech but freedom of assembly. We have to do something. Now many people say what can we do. Well, first of all, we can revoke sanctions exemption that refer to hong kong and sanctions on chinese officials and seize assets of hong kong officials like jimmy lai mention today you yesterday. But the other thing that we need to do is view this into context. China is attacking us across the board so our response should be across the board. What we do right now should not be limited just to hong kong, it should be limited to all the other things that beijing has been doing. Its not honoring the phase 1 trade deal, interfering with the u. S. Navy in the Global Commons and with waffle warrior diplomacy its trying to grab territory from its neighbors. This is the moment and must act. Maria im glad that you mentioned jimmy lai and also the president talked last week talked to me about this and basically said, look, the Chinese Communist party wants to renegotiate the phase 1 deal, im not renegotiating anything. We dont know as a confirm that they want to renegotiate but the president said that to me last week. You mentioned jimmy lai, founder of apple daily, chinese entrepreneur in front of this, in the front line. I want to get your take on something that he said yesterday, watch this. People like us who are basemen who fight for freedom will be arrest and maybe sent to china for trial. Maria they do want to arrest you again, how are you continue to go stay free when you know youre right behind you and people looking to lock you up . Well, im not thinking about my safety at this moment. Im thinking of how should we keep on fighting. I think its a good time now, the world, especially america confront the ccp. This is the time to confront china. This is the time to change china in order to change the world. Maria so gordon, knowing that the Chinese Communist partys goals is to be the number one super power in the world economically as well as militarily and seeing the display that the ccp out there, putting people in jail, they dont want anyone having this free speech, do you think the rest of the world is with the United States on this . Do you think that the president has a group of allies, globally to push back against the ccp right now . Well, i think that across the world and not just the west people agree that something has to be done about china and hong kong has become the flash point. I dont know how far other countries are prepared to go but the one thing we know, maria, is that what is possible changes by the day, so i think that in a short period of time President Trump will be able to put together that coalition, because the u. S. Is willing to take stern measures and i think the world will follow leadership from President Trump. You know, one thing about what jimmy lai said to you yesterday which is i think is absolutely critical, he also said, we in hong kong have two choices, we can flee or we can fight and i see jimmy lai, of course, fighting and i think many people in hong kong will stay and fight as well and because china has closed off the political process, this is now going to be determined in the streets of hong kong and that means Going Forward there is going to be ugly situation one day of another as we saw today. Maria yeah. I want to get steve forbes in here in a minute but i have to ask you your thoughts on on global ceos right now, gordon, do you think corporate ceos get it . I know that the allure of selling to 1. 4 billion people in china can be too much because its all about the money and you want to sell to those people so you have to roll over when it comes to ccp but this morning we have a situation around youtube, of course, Parent Company is google alphabet, youtube is responding to allegations that it deleted comments related to criticism of the Chinese Government. People online documenting how the phrases communist banded or 50 cent party using chinese characters are being automatically deleted. Youtube says its a glitch due to error in moderation system, however, i spoke with palmer lucky, Palmer Luckey has been a guest on the problem, he made a comment about the ccp and youtube deleted it, what do you think about that . Gordon yeah, i think that google does have a problem because theyve been doing this for quite some time. We have to remember thatle has very important business relationships in china and 3 of them are critical, theyve got 3 Artificial Intelligence partnerships and i think its up to President Trump to force them to stop that to get them to withdraw because first of all they are helping the Chinese Military against us and, indeed, giving google an incentive to censor. Not just google but others that are helping Surveillance Networks that are are used against uighurs. Maria steve forbes, jump in here real quick for gordon, you can look back to world war ii and say to yourself, imagine if companies around world war ii, American Companies said to the u. S. Government, look, i dont want to work with you because i need a foothold in Imperial Japan . Steve thats what happened in 1930s, so weve done this, weve been here before. I want to get to gordon, you said we have to see this if a larger context in South China Sea. Should the u. S. Put presence in the South China Sea, i know that the navy and the marines are considering this, what would you recommend, tell our allies we are there, we are physically there . Gordon i think Something Like that would be important. Go ahead and reclaim so that, for instance, you have taiwan; malaysia, indonesia, philippines do the same thing and that would show china that actions are counterproductive. Also we need to be a bit more aggressive in freedom of navigation exercises an we need to tell the chinese in public as well as private they may not interfere with u. S. Navy and u. S. Air force in Global Commons because theyve been picking up danger dangerous intercepts in the last few months. Maria we will talk with you soon, gordon. Gordon thanks, maria. Maria we will be right back. Maria welcome back, markets are pointing to a big rally this morning taking a look at the market where we stand, we are expecting the dow to extend yesterdays big rally, dow industrials up and nasdaq up 76; all major averages finishing sharply higher, investors weighing tensions between washington and beijing as well as hopes of covid19 amidst all of the reopenings, joining us capital ceo leo kelly, great to have you this morning. Thanks for being here. How do you allocate capital during this environment right now . Well, maria, the move that we have seen is a big one and we still have a lot of water to carry with the economy. To answer your question carefully, we have at the beginning of the crisis told clients be disciplined, stay focused and rebalance your allocation, its no different now. The market is up quite a bit and if you are smart enough to keep rebalancing those positions are higher and you have to keep that discipline and not let the risk get too far out but i will also say that the s p 500 doesnt necessarily represent the whole market, theres still value out there for investors to look at, its just its how much do you believe that we are actually coming out of this and what its going to look like in 2021. Maria yeah, i want to ask you what you think its going to look like. We have more layoffs coming out, boeing has layoffs to come, the Company Reportedly set to announce 3,000 volunteers voluntary lay offers as covid19 pandemic hits air travel hard. Boeing is not the only Company Feeling the pinch, of course, and plan to go cut 20 of the workforce in fiscal year from internal memo sent to employees yesterday according to wall street journal this morning. Leo, your reaction to where we are and whether or not we are going to be able to get back to where we were sooner rather than later. What are you expecting in terms to have economy, rest of the year and in terms of 2021. Well, maria, when you think of the economy coming out of the crisis, you need to make decisions on allocating capital. I think you to remember the term rate of change and thats the term that we constantly talk about, what is the rate of change for the economy activity around testing, vaccines and data around coronavirus, giving us more accurate data, the politics, its all rate of change. I dont think you can think this is going to snap right back but the positive of the whole process is the rate of change is growing exponentially in science pulling the economy with it and we are just starting to see some early data thats positive. Maria steve forbes, youre in the president s task force of reopening the economy, how is it going in week 1 where we have all 50 states some sort of opening even if its slower than others . Steve i think what youre doing to see more states putting pressure inory states to get their act together, talking about momentum i think thats there. Leo, you have said in the past in terms of investing you have to go with high risk otherwise you will get lowrisk returns, what areas or companies do you recommend now that look risky but have a payout if youre a discipline investors 2 years down the road, 3 years . Leo yeah, risk is a function of time as well as movement of money, sometimes the high risk is not, the high price securities that have already run take more price risks. Theres a lot out there that you can still buy today that have not made the significant rally and they are just now starting to go. The key is whats your time maria leo, thanks so much. Leo kelly joining us there. Quick break and then ready for takeoff, commerce secretary wilbur ross will join us next as spacex to do space launch at 4 00 oclock, war over words, unprecedented move. Twitter now labeling President Trumps tweets with a factcheck warning. It is sparking fresh outraged over bias in the media. Maria welcome back voting amid coronavirus pandemic, twitter putting label for the first time yesterday as the president tweeted about potential risks of mailin voting telling users to, quote, get the facts. The president fighting back of election interference and stifling speech. Earlier this week when i sat down with President Trump i asked him about the risks of voting by mail. Another kind of interference and that can be fooling around with voting machines. I mean, in terms of voting by mail, vote proxies, whats your take . Voting by mail is very dangerous because people can grab them, people can take that proxy sign and name, they can do all sorts of things especially harvesting, they go out and just say, lets put them all together and thats happened. Maria interesting that this is now front and center, Dagen Mcdowell, your take . Dagen well, twitter did warn President Trumps team on may 20th about putting misleading statements out. The issue was that he tweeted that michigan had sent absentee ballots ahead of the primaries, absentee ballots to people, michigan had sent applications for absentee ballots and President Trump then deleted the tweet. However, if twitter is going to factcheck the president , maybe you ought to get factcheck right because twitter is relying on news organizations with questionable of getting well, history right particularly with the russia collusion that was told to the American People, digress. But that statement appears to conflate automatic all mail voting with regard to nebraska, nebraska did send mail applications to every voter in response to the pandemic but the state didnt automatically send ballots. This is in the the wall street journal today and in the factcheck, factcheckers say theres no evidence that mailin ballots are leaked to voter fraud. Here is a quote for you, absentee ballots remain the largest source of potential voter fraud, unquote, thats from a bipartisan commission. In 2005 led by the former president of the United States jimmy carter and the former secretary of state james baker. People can go and read this report but it goes into people basically putting pressure on citizens at home and Nursing Homes in the workplace, intimidation and vote and in fact, in the 97 miami mayorial election there were 36 people arrested for absentee ballot fraud. I dont know if twitter is talking about. If they are going to factcheck people, fair enough, they ought to hire their own people to do it rather than leaning on people that have a questionable history of reporting actual facts. Maria right. Yeah, thats right, and the Washington Post and the new york times, the two publications that completely got it wrong in terms of the russia probe in the last 3 weeks in the last 3 years, Mattie Duppler, your reaction to this because not just what happened with twitter but also remember what happened to Palmer Luckey with youtube, social media organizations are just immediately jumping to, you know, away from anybody who thinks that they think are agreeing with President Trump. Mattie maria, this comes after november that it would ban candidate ads in order to encourage more free expression. If youre doing that treating your own labels on some tweets while leaving others out there which may contain malicious or false information, your defacto allowing candidates to use platforms differently and giving candidates a different edge. I dont know what twitter is getting away from here. Tech is trying to say we are not publishers, we should be able to operate freely because we are the platform but they make it difficult for regulators who are looking at actions like this from twitter who allow them to function that way. Maria thats exactly right. We will take a break. When we come back we will speak with congressman wilbur ross. Today spacex prepares to make history launching first human crew to orbit, we will ask the secretary about that, stay with us. Back in a moment. Spacex is launching first man shuttle, the crew dragon, the First Time Since 2011 that astronauts will lift off from american soil, the launch is coming on the heels of the latest initiative from the Commerce Department to help improve the licensing process for private u. S. Satellites fight to go put the u. S. In the lead of the final frontier. Joining me right now commerce secretary wilbur ross, mr. Secretary, good to have you this morning, thank you very much for joining me. Good to be on, maria. Maria this was an exciting day. Tell me why the u. S. Wants to be front and center in space travel and what we will see today . Secretary well, what has happened in contrast to 2011 when president obama took us out of the space launch business that ended our leadership in space launch. Now we are going to get it back. This is the First Time Since then that american rockets, american astronauts to the American Space station and thats really important. We were paying the russians up to 86 million per seat to take our astronauts to our space station. Thats now over with and its important both commercially and militarily. You know the president has stood down the space force which is a whole new branch of the military because space will be the new war fighting domain, but the commercial side is very, very important. Its bringing the cost of everything down and thats whats going to facilitate space tourism, space manufacturing, space habitation, space mining, a whole bunch of new activities and that will take the industry from its current 400 billiondollar total to over a trillion dollars so this is a very, very big deal and its going to happen hopefully precisely at 4 33 p. M. This afternoon from the famous launch pad 39a at the Kennedy Space station at Cape Canaveral. Maria its very exciting and we will take it live, wilbur, and we look forward to that. Let me switch gears about china and the tensions rising in hong kong, rioting Police Firing teargas at demonstrators, criminalizing disrespect of Chinese National anthem and against plans of beijing to impose National Security laws. President trump says should the laws go through, they would be a response in, quote, the next couple of days, what kind of a response might we expect, secretary . Secretary well, i dont think we should get out ahead of the president. This is a very complex situation. Our hearts go out to the individual civilians in hong kong. We are with them but the president will have to decide exactly what is the appropriate response to it and as you indicated, he has said that he will do that within the next very, very few days. Maria yeah, because i mean you have to distinguish between the Chinese Communist party and Chinese People and does it make sense to target specific ccp with sanctions on chinese officials . Secretary well, theres a whole menu of potential things that he could do and im sure they are working right now on exactly how to refine the thinking and come up something thats an appropriate response. Maria i see. Wilbur, let me ask you, the last time you joined us there was breaking news on hauwei, the u. S. Moved to cut off chip supplies from hauwei from global chip makers, what has been the impact . Secretary well, you have seen hauwei make some very big complaints about it but at around the same time although it was not particularly related, Taiwan Semiconductor manufacturing announced that they have plans to build their new cutting edge chip factory that can make the tinniest chips of any in the world namely 5nanometer in arizona. Thats a huge breakthrough. Here before theyve only had small facilities in washington and texas and elsewhere, but this would be a big deal if Something Like a 13 billiondollar project and we believe that it will lead to more fabs being built, fabs is the operation that makes the semiconductor chip, so this is a series of very powerful things and in addition we more recently put 33 more chinese entities on our socalled entity list. That was mainly for Human Rights Violations relating to the uighurs a chinese population and that was a response to that situation. Maria i suspect the response from the high knows communist party is they are not going to follow through and buy 250 billion in commodities, is that what you expect . Secretary oh, i think we shouldnt prejudge either what the president will do or what the chinese might do in response. This is a very delicate situation. A lot of things need to be balanced, but mainly our hearts do go out to the chinese civilians and we hope things work out well from their point of view. Maria yes, as we all, do secretary, good to see you this morning, thanks very much. Secretary thank you, maria, for having me on. Maria great to see you, secretary wilbur ross there. Coming up the china threat how one state senator is fight to go keep manufacturing here in the United States, he will join me next with that plan to make sure manufacturing happens in the United States not china and then google gets back to work, the technology outlining reopening plans offering some employees a hefty check to stay at home, we have the details, stay with us. Maria this week on mornings with maria, tomorrow the Michael Flynn takedown has republicans looking at highest levels of Obama Administration. Newt gingrich weighs in. And friday as america slowly reopens freshman republican chip roy is calling for normalcy and President Trump considering changes to Republican National convention, Trump CampaignSenior Adviser laura trump. All right here in mornings with maria. Am totally blind. Am totally blind. And non24 can make me show up too early. Or too late. Or make me feel like im not really there. Talk to your doctor, and call 8442342424. Maria welcome back, protecting american supply chains from chinas dominance, one state senator fight to go keep aluminum smelter in his community, one in five communities in the entire country. China has 145 smelters running right now. Joining us right now state senator doug erikson of washington, senator, great to have you this morning. Tell us why the issue is so important . Senator thanks, maria for having me on. America has to make a decision if we want to protect the Metal Industry in america and aluminum being one of the key ones. China has 145 to 150 smelters and dumping product to market and American Steel cant compete with that right now. We are reaching out to Trump Administration and congress to keep place in program to keep aluminum jobs in place not just in washington where i live but all around the country. Maria isnt it more expensive for a company thats inputting aluminum to have its more expensive to have those smelters in the United States, right . Senator how do you compete against china when they are dumping product into a market . The government is subsidizing energy and program in china to corner the market and world aluminum. Here in the United States certain things that we can be doing to make us top competitive with china Going Forward. Number 1 the Trump Administration has to engage which they have been doing and keep pushing Forward Solutions that are going to work to get the Aluminum Prices to where they need to be, we need to stockpiling aluminum to keep prices up on a shortterm basis and longterm we should be looking at loan, Grant Program so they can compete in world stage. This is going to take President Trump doing what hes doing to get tough with china and the Congress Stepping up and supporting him and those efforts to Work Together as a team to protect the crucial interest. Its not just about one smelter where i live, its about the national interest, National Security, national defense, we dont want to be depending on china for aluminum. Maria Mattie Duppler. Mattie senator, trade goes both ways, what may be good for steel would be challenging for Agricultural Products in washington, how do you presume to be able to protect steel when the rest of the state really depends on the trade with china to keep the economy going . Senator this is where it gets so difficult in the arena with china. There has to be a way to sure up metal markets and stop china from dopping product and President Trump was in the right track and what you also talk about highlights all the product that is we have, aloca, essentially a u. S. Based company, they are selling from australia into china, the Parent Company, facility in my district is concerned about getting involved and engaging at the National Level because they dont want to lose the ability to sell and i real t complicated and we see it in Washington State with boeing, selling our cherries, apples, blueberries into china. We simply cannot lose the ability to smelt aluminum in the United States and be dependent on countries like china who can cut us off for aluminum for our trucks, fighter jet planes, commercial jetliners and for things like ventilators. Maria right, we saw that play out in realtime during the pandemic when the staterun media threatened that they would not send the 70 of prescription drugs that are made in china just at the time when we needed it we were in the middle of a pandemic. Senator, you make a lot of points. We will be watching the developments. We will so you soon. You can count on us. Maria welcome back, time for the morning buzz, first up google announcing that it is going to pay employees 1,000 each for equipment and Office Furniture as they work from home. Google is planning to reopen offices starting july 5th, many employee employees with work remotely until september or even next year, mattie, your take, giving money to set up office at home too . Mattie i would argue not give employees money but have reimburse for office expenses, why, because thats not taxable income. Google is giving a thousand dollars, that is taxable and need to account, make sure youre holding off to a couple of bucks because you will have to pay tax on that money. Maria thats a good point, dagen, what do you think in. Dagen we know that people working from home are sitting in the sofa. The dumbest idea ever. Google ought to give the money to people who will be commuting to the office because you know what, ive been coming into the studio every single day even during the height of the pandemic and it was kind of scary and now new york, for example, they dont have any plans for the public transportation, what are they going to do about people jamming onto subway cars an commuter rails, you know what, if you have enough to get on a train and go to work, you deserve an extra grand from google or your employer, thats my take. Maria thats a good point. How about this, distancing but make it fashion, check out this picture. Burger king launches giant social distancing crowns to make sure customers stay 6 feet apart. The burger giant introducing the creative new way to keep customers socially distant as franchisees reopen Dining Services in germany. Steve, quite a look, youre a fan of the crowns . Steve the bad thing about it it doesnt have jewels but useful, taco bell, they can call it a sombrero and everybody will get a chuckle out. For takeout its great. [laughter] maria god, its funny to see how everybody, all the companies are approaching it differently. Dagen we are going to find you a grand for that horrible grandpa joke, im just saying. [laughter] maria go ahead, steve. Steve i was just going to say i pay her a billion maria there you go. Stay with us. We have a big show. Maria welcome back. Good wednesday morning, everybody. Weve got a firmer tone across the board, european markets are higher with the fq100 up 84, better than 1 , cac up 84 as well as dax index in germany higher by 220 points. Green across the board here as investors are looking toward a stimulus package in europe. The European Union expected to announce a plan worth over a trillion euros. European Central Bank PresidentChristine Lagarde says it is likely the eurozone economy will shrink 8 to 12 this year due the pandemic. In asia markets were mixed, tensions rising in hong kong, that is unnerving investors. The hang sen hang seng down fray overnight. Great to see everybody this morning. Dagen great to see you. Thousands of protesters clash with police in minneapolis after four officers are fired in connection with the death of an unarmed man in cuss tri. Custody. The department is not identifying the officers involved. The fbi is investigating the case. And the department of justice dropping investigations of stock trading violations by three senator, kelly loffler, Dianne Feinstein and jim hoff sold stocks after getting briefed about covid19 when the market crashed. The feds are looking into North Carolina senator richard burr. All four senators denied doing anything illegal. Declassifying documents, acting director of National IntelligenceRick Grinnell declassified new russian probe documents as John Ratcliffe faces the decision on whether to make the documents public. The new files include transcripts of phone calls of Michael Flynn and Russian Ambassador sergey kislyak. Joining us now is congressman william herd. Great to see you this morning. Thank you for joining us. Always a pleasure to be on, maria. Maria should more conversations be declassified and shown to the public . If it doesnt reveal anything about sources and methods, then yes. I remember at the height of all this debate and when republicans were in charge of the House Select Committee on intelligence, adam schiff almost every day was on tv saying more things should be opened and now when he has a responsibility to do this its getting tough on getting him to declassify and show some of this information that we already said, we already voted on should be released. Thats what director grinnell was doing in his time as the director of National Intelligence. Maria you know, John Ratcliffe told me back in 2018 that behind closed doors when he interviewed a number of the obama officials, they all said the same thing, that they had no evidence of collusion and yet they turned around, and adam schiff saw the same documentation, was in the same meetings of interviewing these folks and they came out and said completely different things, that adam schiff went on cnn, went on msnbc and said theres collusion in plain sight. Heres the Ranking Member at the time of the intel committee, youve got the former cia director, john brennan see the same thing, heard the same thing from the obama officials and yet he went on msnbc and said President Trump committed treason. Is there no accountability for these guys . Because youre a member of congress, youre never under oath . You can just say whatever you want . Look, its absolutely outray just, maria. And the fact that people were using their positions to imply that they had access to information that other people did not is whats incredibly frustrating. Maria thats right. As a former member of the intelligence community, i took my oath when i served in the cia as undercover officer very seriously. This is what was frustrating. Then they implied they were getting information from other sources that other people didnt have access to. Well guess what . Those sources were lying to you, if that was indeed the case. And the fact that more people responsibility outraged more people arent outraged or more democratic colleagues arent outraged by all the details that finally came out, the details that we saw and that devin nunes was trying to uncover, its just its maddening to me as a professional Intelligence Officer that this is still going on and youre absolutely right, people can go up in front of cameras and say whatever and its not ultimately based on fact and thats what were seeing and thats why making many of these documents public is so important, so people can see what really was going on at that time and how the actual facts were being misused. Maria i agree with you. And i think that people need to understand that adam schiff that any of you in congress can say whatever you want. Youre not under oath. So you can lead us to you can push us into a wall and lie. You can ambush us. You can do whatever it takes to get your answer, including lying. I mean, i just think thats outrageous, as i also agree its outrageous that colleagues on the left are completely ignoring the massive abuse of power. Lets talk fisa reform for a second. House minority leader Kevin Mccarthy is asking democrats to pull the bill today to renew expired surveillance tools. President trump brings this, i hope all Republican House members vote no on fisa until such time our country is able to determine how as beyon and why t subversive crime in history took place. The doj said two out of the four wiretaps of carter page were illegal, they were unlawful. I think it was all four of them, by the way. We may hear that when john durham comes out. But whats your take on what theyre doing with fisa right now . Should they pull the bill . Is kevin right . Well, fisas an important tool to help Law Enforcement in counterterrorism activity and so this is an important tool. These are three provision thats have actually expired, the ability of the fbi to go to fisa go to a fisa court and still get a fisa warrant is possible. But the abuses of this, this is a tool that is so serious and should be has been abused very clearly but were not going to be able to legislate people breaking the law. The fact that one of the most outrageous things for me, reading the Inspector General of doj horowitz report was that carter page was working with another branch of government, that branch of government told the fbi and then the fbi lied about it in its application to the fisa court, right. That was already against the law. And so were not going to be able to further legislate that when people are lying and thats why i think attorney general barr mass taken a number has taken a number of steps to put reforms around how fbi presents information to doj and doj ultimately d take it to the fisa court. Those protections are important. And getting durhams final report is going to be important as well because Inspector General horowitz wasnt able, didnt have the ability to interview all the folks that were involved in those four fisa warrants against carter page. So the president is upset for a reason, because this important tool was taken advantage of. Maria yeah. Ill call out exactly what you just said. Youre talking about kevin klinesmith, fbi agent, sees an application, is asked a question, do you work is carter page a source for you . Meanwhile, for the cia. He completely says instead of the answer is yes, he was a source, he writes no, hes not a source, to the fisa court. Lies to the fisa court. Congressman, if the American People dont see some accountability here, i dont know how anybody is going to trust the fbi leadership to do the right thing. Well be waiting. Real quick, before you go, are you expecting durhams report before the election . Go ahead. Sorry. I hope so. I hope so. And i also think weve got to look at how the fbi was handling source as well. Because another part of that report was that some of the subsources that were used, when they went back and were talked to, they said i didnt say that information. So how we handle sources is important as well. Maria maybe well see all that with more documents declassified. Great to get your insights this morning. Thank you, sir. Thank you. Maria congressman william herd there. Coming up this hour, dan bongino is here weighing in on the newly declassified russia files. And toy editor joins us to tell us how to teach with technology as parents and kids look ahead to the summertime. In the 8 00 a. M. Hour ill speak to George Papadopoulos, the president sounding off the alarm on fisa abuse. Crime stories with nancy grace host, nancy grace is here, on the university of Connecticut Student accused of two homicides. Martha stewart living omni leader follower, Martha Stewart with me on the future of retail following this pandemic. Dont miss it. Two big hours coming up. First, hong kong protesters storm the streets overnight. President trump threatening new sanctions against the communist party as beijing moves to take control of hong kong. And controversy in virginia as the state makes face masks mandatory in all public indoor areas, not everybodys onboard with that. Back in a moment. vo since our beginning, our business has been people. And their financial wellbeing. Its evident in good times, with decisions focused on the longterm. And crucial when circumstances become difficult. That continued emphasis on people our advisors, associates, clients and communities gives us purpose, strength and a way forward. Today. And always. Can you tell us what you plan to do regarding sanctions against china for its pending actions against honk of kong. Were doing it now. Were doing something now. I think youll find it very interesting. But i wont be talking about it today. Ill be talking about it over the next couple days. Something youre going to be hearing about before the end of the week. Maria that was President Trump in the rose garden yesterday. Were waiting on what this is. He hinted at possible sanctions on china and the communist party there due to rising tensions in hong kong. Overnight, Police Firing pepper pellets into crowds, protesting the new security bill that lawmakers there will be bait later today. More than 200 people were arrested overnight. Steve forbes, look, we knew that the communist party was trying to do a power grab but it looks like theyre using the covid19 pandemic to do a quiet bigger power grab in hong kong, once again breaking its promises, steve. Steve yes, they trampled on that 1997 agreement, both in substance and in spirit and its going to undermine hong kongs center being a Financial Center and i dont think beijing really realizes the impact of that and so theyre going to pay an economic price. Whats also worrisome is theyre making noises about making a move against islands owned by taiwan, putting pressure on taiwan. We have to not only put on sanctions, we have to start thinking very seriously about a more forceful military presence in the South China Sea, whether theres existing real estate there we can use or building our own artificial island. I know the navys been examining this, where if theres a confrontation we can cut off oil imports into china. Hong kong is part of a larger pattern and we have to see it that way including opening up truly opening up the South China Sea again and working with our allies in the area, trying to make them allies again, such as the philippines. Maria and mattie, up to 5,000 chinese troops are now massed along the disputed border with india. You talk about a power grab. Taiwan must be worried. Youve got hong kong here, india there, and the Chinese Communist party trying to have this creeping dominance across the world. Mattie the Chinese Government has been clear that any example of freedom off of their border is not going to be tolerated. Now theyre testing the United States to see what our response will be, if they try to create more pressure on those territories. Steve is right on the military sense. What we need too are more economic ties in the region. The donald trump ad medicine strayings the Trump Administration has been strategic about this. 160160 members sent a letter sag we should pursue a Free Trade Agreement with taiwan, to strengthen our own hand in the region, having morale allies will certainly be one way we can combat chinas persuasion in the area and these efforts that they have trying to create different precautions in hong kong, taiwan, other province thats they have control over. Maria yeah. I think you make so many important points. Were going to be watching this. Let me bring you another tweet that the president just put out. Dagen, you may want to respond to this. The president just tweeted on potential social media regulation. The president writes this. Republicans feel that social media platforms totally silence conservatives voices. We will strongly regulate or close them down. Before we can ever allow this to happen. We saw what they attempted to do and failed in 2016. We cant let a more sophisticated version of that happen again. Just like we cant let large scale mailin ballots take root in our country. It would be a free for all on key cheating, forgery and the theft of ballots. Whoever cheated the most would win. Likewise, social media, clean up your act now. Dagen, your reaction to this. Weve been talking about social media and the potential for a bigger government hand. If youre going to see them get involved in the election and cheat, this is going to be a problem that i think the president is not going to allow. Dagen the president s timing, though, is poor because it looks like a titfortat that twitter fact checked his tweet. By the way, twitter didnt take the tweet down. He said a lot of things that were objectionable on twitter. They havent censored him. Theyre starting to fact check issues like covid19 and this. Historically, youve had people on the right and the left who are in favor of more regulation of, say, facebook as one huge shining example and then you look at youtube owned by google and Youtube Censorship of people who are calling out an arm of the communist regime and china which you were talking about, why did that happen, why did that algorithm come back a few years after it stopped censoring tweet calling out china. Very fishy. Maria yeah. Thats why we called out palmer luckys tweet. We want to make sure the world understands whats going on with tech. This is the creator of oculus. More mornings with maria after this. Stay with us. There are times when our need to connect really matters. To keep customers and employees in the know. To keep business moving. You can count on us. Maria welcome back. As we just reported, there are chinese troops at the border with india right now and the president just tweeted about it. He says this. We have informed both india and china that the United States is ready, willing and able to mediate or arbitrate their now raging border dispute. Thank you, writes the president. This is showing once again an aggressive china with troops at the border of india. We are also looking this morning at virginia and the new covid19 measures. The state is now requiring people to wear face masks in public indoor areas such as restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and government buildings. This rule is set to go into effect on friday. Joining me right now to talk about that is fox news senior judicial analyst, judge Andrew Napolitano. Face masks indoors in all of these public places. Your reaction . I dont know if virginia opened up too soon or if the virus is starting to come back. Weve been wearing face masks these are indoor public areas. Remember, their restaurants are open. Difficult to wear a face mask in a restaurant but there are times when youre in the restaurant or in another public facility, like a church or house of worship where you dont actually where you can have the mask on. I think its very difficult. Governor northam is going to find it very difficult to have relaxed a regulation and then reimposed it. Thats what hes going through rights now. Does he have the authority to do it . Depends on whether anybody challenges him in court. Maria dagen, youre from virginia. What do you think . Dagen people wear masks as a courtesy. But judge, every time i go in the cvs across the street from my apartment, theres a notice on the door. It says wearing a face mask indoors, its the law. And i always think about you. Im like, well, did a Legislature Pass this . Its not really a law. Its an edict. It is an order. But it isnt really a law. And thats the issue with virginia. Am i wrong . No, youre not wrong. Youre 100 correct. Its not the law. Now, cvs is the owner or occupier of real estate. They can make any reasonable rule they want. So cvs could have said not its the law, but its a courtesy that were going to enforce on our premises. That would be a true and accurate statement. Its not the law in new york. Its not the law in new jersey. Its not the law in virginia. These are recommendations. They are sound recommendations. They are based on science. But they cannot carry the force of law. And the people have been prosecuted for violating them, the prosecutions wont occur until the pandemic passes and the courtrooms open. I cant imagine any judge in america allowing somebody to be prosecuted for something that was not a law enacted by a legislature. Maria wow. Yeah. This is really interesting discussions and dilemmas going on right now. Judge, always great to talk with you. Thanks so much. Judge Andrew Napolitano there. Stay with us. We will be right back. Declassifying documents more this week, former acting director of National IntelligenceRick Grinnell declassifying a new batch of russia probe documents before leaving office this week. The new files include transcriptiotranscripts of calln Michael Flynn and the former Russian Ambassador. Joining me right now to talk about that is Fox News Contributor dan bongigno. Thank you for being here. Ive been enjoying your commentary regarding flynn as well as the whole mess. First off, tell me, do you believe we will see those documents that were declassified by Rick Grinnell go public . What do you think the public needs to see now that we havent seen so far . Well, the transcripts are key, maria. For a couple of reasons. Theres an anomaly in the case thats gone relatively unreported and it puzzles me. Weve been told by the fbi and the mueller team that prosecuted flynn and even the courts at some point that flynn lied about sanctions to the fbi, lied about discussing sanctions with kislyak. If you look at the fbis paperwork, the summary of the interview with flynn where they claim he lied about sanctions youll see something fascinating. The word sanctions is nowhere to be found. You may say that cant be. Look at it yourself. You can see the 302, the edited 302. We dont have the original one which is another anomaly were save for another day. After the fbi edited to death their own interview with flynn to make it appear he lied about sanctions. Youre not going the see sanctions in there. Youll see the discussion of the expulsions of the russian diplomats. That was a separate obama action, separate from the sanction. Why is mike flynn being charged with lying about sanctions if he was never asked about sanctions. Thats why the transcript is key. Maria the whole idea that you could throw the logan act at him on its face is just ridiculous. Hes an incoming nsa director. Of courses going to have conversations with other foreign leaders similar to what hes doing about going he was weeks away from becoming the nsa. So on its face that whole argument i never bought into it. You mentioned president obama. President trump just tweeted about this. We want to bring you the tweet. He wrote this minutes ago. He says new papers make clear that the Obama Administration spied in an unprecedented manner on the Trump Campaign and beyond and even on the United States senate. Nobody would ever have believed that this level of illegality and corruption would be taking place in our beautiful usa. Dan, it is quite extraordinary. Do you think most people understand what has taken place here . And youve made some comments about the Obama Administration spying on flynn way before donald trump even came into the picture. Walk us through that. Yeah, well, back in 2014 general flynn goes to a dinner in london and meets up with an academic. These allegations this is 2014. Nobody hears anything about this until three years later when donald trump starts running and mike flynn starts speaking out in favor of barack obama. All of a sudden you see this story appear in a newspaper that in that 2014 dinner mike flynn was acting inappropriately with this British Academic who was born in russia, insinuating there was some kind of affair. They write ridiculous things like he wrote her an email and called himself general misha. This was absurd. None of this happened. Have you to ask what is the genesis of that. One of the people involved in the setting up of that dinner was the same spy involved in the spygate affair. Even basic journalism here, people should start asking questions and theyre not. In regards to the opening about the obama involvement. The evidence is everywhere. You have the august text between the fbi agents investigating trump, the white house is running his and then you have the september text, the potus, president of the United States, at the time obama, wants to know everything were doing. Then you have another one in october, the fbi Deputy Director emailing lisa page about going to the white house and speaking with one voice with the cia. The evidence is everywhere. Maria well, i want to see what happens with john brennan. Ive been waiting for that to come down and come into light for a long time. Well see if john durham interviews john brennan because he was out trashing President Trump for three years even though he knew there was no evidence of any collusion. So i really look forward to seeing how that plays out. But let me ask you about the fisa reform. This is front and center today. House minority leader Kevin Mccarthy is asking House Democrats to pull the bill to renew expired surveillance tools. The president took to twitter on the legislation. He said this, i hope all Republican House members vote no on fisa until such time as our country is able to determine how and why the greatest political and subversive scandal in United States history took place, dan. Yeah, ive been consistent on this from the start as a former federal agent myself and i know some people dont agree with me and thats fine. But when it comes to an american citizen, you should have to get a warrant. The fisa law is clearly theres no question its been abused. I think mike lees on the right side of this with some of his proposals on this. You should have to get a warrant. Listen, libertys a painful thing. Its not easy. If it was, every country in the world would be free. The fact that its been abused to spy on a president ial candidate shows it can be abused to spy on anyone. The fisa court, you wouldnt know if theyre spying on you. Maria it is extraordinary, all of it, dan. I know youve been on it from day one as i have. We will keep watching. Thanthank you so much, sir. Keeping kids engaged, schools closing across the country, impacting the majority of u. S. Children. Virtual learning now the norm. Online platforms along with toy makers focusing on summer using technologies to keep kids interested in learning. Good idea. Joining me now is the toy insider, editor in chief, marisa. Great to see you. Tell us about virtual options available. A lot of people want to know what they can access. Yeah, of course. You want to make sure kids are learning all summer long. Age of learning has three incredible platforms. The first one is called abc mouse. Thats really designed for younger kids, about 2 to 8 years old. It has more than 10,000 activities so kids can log on and learn everything from literacy to social studies to math and science. The second platform is called adventure academy, meant for older kids. Its a Massive Multiplayer Online Games so kids are immersed in a individual wall virtual world. Every activity will have an educational element to it. Finally, theres reading iq, basically a full library in your pocket, more than 700 titles that kids can listen to to sort of help with their reading comprehension. Maria i love that. So handson toys, very popular now as well. Share what some of the innovative learning options away from what youve just said, the handson toys. Absolutely. Kids are spending a lot of time in front of a screen. If you want to give them a handson activity, this is great. Its called the think box, inventers box, loaded with materials that kids can create different projects and activities, you can make a pin ball machine, a slot car. Everything you need is in here. It comes with an inventors guide book that will help kids along in the process of creating and i love that Everything Stores right inside here too, so no mess for parents which theyll love. Maria i love that. 8 years old and up. How about with summer camps in flux. You also have products that bring the camp experience home. Yeah, absolutely. So the first one that well talk about is called birdie golf. Kids love a fun game of golf, get outside and play in the backyard. I love this one because it has this really cool little weighted slot here and you get the golf balls with tails on the end of them. They dont go too far. It stays contained in a small area for lots of fun, active play. Maria i love that. Because the summertime, theyre going to be really climbing the walls with no camp and no school, marisa. Yeah, you definitely want to keep them busy. Another really fun activity is friendship bracelet making. This is the crazy loom, a fun friendship bracelet maker. You get this really big mega size loom and its a lot of fun for kids. Maria i like that one. Thats a good one. Marisa, great stuff. Thanks so much. Thanks for having me. Baseball trying to figure out its future as well. The Players Union calling the leagues latest economic proposal, quote, extremely disappointing. This plan reportedly would only pay players part of their prorated salaries with the highest paid stars taking the biggest salary cuts. Steve, youre a baseball fan. What do you think . Steve i think the Baseball Players are very bitter. They think the owners are deliberately trying to put a wedge between the lower paid players and the big stars, having this sliding scale, instead of having a fixed percentage that you would get of your normal salary, they want the big higher paid players to take a bigger hit, they accuse the owners of leaving them to side against the players on that and therefore get a better deal for the owners than they would otherwise. So i hope they overcome this bitterness. We saw 25 years ago back in the 90s before most people watching the program were born when they lost a season andahalf. But dont understand why they dont do a straight pro rata and get this thing out of the way, this thing of a sliding scale is just guaranteed to make a contentious negotiation and thats what we have now, a lot of suspicion about motives. Maria yeah. All in the face of uncertainty in terms of fans and what the stadiums will look like, dagen. Dagen given the fact that maybe one out of four americans is unemployed and struggling to even feed their families, this is not a good look for baseball. Maria yep. Mattie . Mission demo 2 expected to launch 4 33 pm earn today as of now 60 favorably weather President TrumpVice President pence plan to attend this launch. President trump slaemg Obama Administration surveillance of his president ial campaign tweeted last hour, new papers make clear that, the Obama Administration, spied in an unprecedented manner on the Trump Campaign and beyond even on the United States senate. Nobody would ever have believed this level of illegality corruption would be taking place in our beautiful usa, this with house lawmakers to vote later on legislation would renew government ability to conduct domestic surveillance this bill concerning Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act fisa the abuse at the heart of trumprussia probe President Trump urging republicans vote against this legislation joining me right now author of the book deep state target George Papadopoulos was target of the deep state at center of much of this journalligeorge for joining. Fbi told us the investigation into donald trump crossfire hurricane are started july 2016 however way before july 2016 a number of International Diplomats we believe spice, inviting to you meet varies people how many spies do you believe ran into you once cleared that you are joining the Trump Campaign tick us to 2016. I think that is a very important, because the facts now, senator lindsey graham, has sent a letter asking to find out which Trump Campaign officials were unmasked as early as march profile 2016 i joined Trump Campaign in march 2016 before Washington Post knew i had joined this campaign, i am being chaperoned, having red carpet rolled out for me by vicious diplomats from italy, uk now moving forward, after these very bizarre meetings i was having with high level officials we know dur aham probe is looking into conduct of those countries think i that is actually where action is regarding, the investigation. And what is going to be coming down to with bee public. So you think that is what john durham is looking at how spies were running into people, identified with the Trump Campaign i have a timeline here in front of me that i am looking at, marcher 2016 you were invited to neither work in rome you first said going to join Trump Campaign it was there, in march of 16 you were introduced to Joseph Mifsud. Correct. That is correct we cant forget that the durham probe started off as administrative review to many moment publicly that we knew that it became a criminal matter is after a trip that both attorney general barr and john durham took not to russia but to italy, to find out with Joseph Mifsud this happened last fall since then a lot more information is depending to come out a we are getting more declassified transcripts i think rick grenell did incredible job service to American Public the new dni director John Ratcliffe might testify, under aggregating two years ago about suspicious spying if you will i think going to implement where it all started full transparency for exactly what happened not only for myself but general flynn to the president , and at the end of the day, American People. Maria so tell me what you think happened to you george i know at the time you did not know President Trump very well; right . How many times did you actual met President Trump. No, i actually started off, at Ben Carson Campaign after ben carson dropped out i joined the Trump Campaign i met, trump, one time. So my associations to candidate were very minimal, obviously, i was working closely with people steve bannon others throat fall but what you were part of the campaign the point is you were part of the campaign, and there are spies meeting with you do you believe people who neither with you ive got timeline march 16 you meet Joseph Mifsud april 16, is raleigh officials introduce you to australian intel officer april 16 mifsud tells you russia has Hillary Clinton campaigns may 16 to bias elwood all internationalists are cold calling you saying meet me at this conference we like your work meet me here come to rome meet Joseph Mifsud you think they were all wired informants, those conversations are going to be declassified is that correct . This is absolutely what i predicted coming out i know sensitive topic because we are discussing u. S. Allies and their conduct, regarding the Trump Campaign. During meetings with mueller, essentially confirmed to me meeting i was having with this australian diplomat was recorded now what you alleged what you explained, earlier, that the investigation respond takenously emerged according to fbi based on tip from australian the conversation recorded that obviously, meaning the meeting who set this australian to meet with me that is up not only Lindsey Grahams inquire has sent open letter to the Australian Government asking who set this australian to meet with me i think at core of the probe were going to find out why people like that were recording conversations, why the Italian Foreign minister drewing me in march ended up being in a scandal halper some others meeting general Michael Flynn early back as 2015 i truly believe i completely agree with attorney general, in a this investigation did not have a basis having did not spontaneously emerge july 2016 this goes way back even further than that what we are going to find out. Maria tap about declassifying of documents former acting director National Intel you mentioned rick grenell declassified new russia documents as John Ratcliffe facing decision whether to make difficulties public files include transcripts of phone calls between Michael FlynnRussian Ambassador certainlie kislyak let me ask what might be in documents in terms of own conversations i spoke with trey gowdy about this over a year ago trey gowdy idol me one document not declassified yet has to do with you you are talking to what we now believe an informant that person said to you it is great that russia has Hillary Clinton emails that is going to be good for you guys, the Trump Campaign, right you said what . Every single informant from i cant even count home countries were involved in what were talking with because there were so many at least 6 confidential human sources that were basically, spying on me including, people i went to college with, from recent reports i told every single one of these people whoever might be we have nothing to do with russia, no one is meeting russian officials and anything regarding any coordination or coordination with russian government is treason, that is what papadopoulos told at least 6 Confidential Sources we had demagogue do with returns when general flynns transcript is released i am sure you are going to see sanctions were not even discussed with Russian Ambassador this narrative is going to continue to be obliterated. To be clear as they talk about the fisa changes, that we are going to see, you papadopoulos had a conversation with someone who at the time you did not know was an informant but you said would i never do that that is crazy that is treason you could get hanged for that that conversation was not submitted to the fisa court that is the exculpatory evidence we are waiting on wait to see if declassified, thanks very much for all your help leadership in all of this. Maria welcome back armed dangerous, ongoing manhunt in connecticut pennsylvania searching for 23yearold he Peter Manfredonia after he allegedly murdered two people doesnted although reportedly stalking a woman lived near him first victim, a 62yearold man who offered the student a ride in his car, his family is speaking out to a spokesperson, urging son to turn himself in. Come to your parents we love you. Please turn yourself in. Nobody wants any harm to come to you it is time to let healing process begin. Time to surrender. Maria he was reportedly last seen walking along train tracks in Pennsylvania StatePolice Warning stay away call authorities if he is actually seen, joining me right now crime stories with in ans grace host greatest to have you this morning thanks so much for being here what can you tell us . Thank you. Well, i think it is a great magnitude than we are hearing i think five victims number one 62yearold ted, who offered to give him a ride, but why was he there . As you said, i think stalking a woman he knew she worked takeout tro, the guy offered to take him to motorcycle he isnt getting dead by machete neighboring trades inteefb in serious condition in hospital right now then manfredonia goes on to another home in area holds residents hostage three long guns a pistol vehicle makes his way toward derby allegedly kills High School Friend eisly steels his give and black jetta found alive and well on new jersey pennsylvania brrr he gets rideshare to walmart last seen walking along with a duffel bag we know has four guns in it with ammo, and along Railroad Traction the problem aside from dead bodies is no particular mo dont know what he is going to do next. One target High School Friend the others random we dont know what he is going to he do is no idiot he had a double major studies in engineering, and business. So he has a plan, he is walking along Railroad Tracks staying away from highly populated areas. So what what is friend the target and the others the others just got in his way then . Is that what you think . Yes, that is what i think but he originally was headed toward this woman who was young woman going to take out tro that means stalking her why there . Nothing good he is walking straight toward her place with machete hidden in backpack that cant be good. So i would say that that was his original target, and the other got in the way 62yearold that is dead then he has High School Friend a target everybody else is are collaterally damage. Is this slowing in any way face conversation common could this prevent criminal suspects from being found . Absolutely, a doubleedged sword this is why, in a way it is good because less people are going to come into this is path case many people are quarantining sheltering in place on the other hand less people to make visual idonly way got him behind walmart Surveillance Video happened to catch him walk along the old adigital if you want to catch a varmit you with got to think like one, we dont know operations moddud operandi some random some targeted where is he headed since staying off beaten path cant be caught, by earlier helicopter on city streets, question query if headed towards someone he knows, like he did with eisley, or is it all random simply on run i can tell you maria, where he had been in a dorm room no longer there there was scribbling in that room said see what happy adam snaps watch with a what happens when i snap who else would have written that the dichotomy part of Antigun Group remember victims not shooter and ideology. Maria jimmy lai live business yesterday, from hong kong we see this situation really getting worse, china will have as seized territory International Waters in south china see invaded part of india troops right now on the ground india border they also tried to extort australia we know what has teen place in United StatesDagen Mcdowell from intellectual property theft town leashing virus downplaying it cornering the market on protective equipment reaction to china using this covid19 pandemic, as an opportunity to grab more power across the world must be shakeing in boots. Dagen indeed chinas planning, a practice of Amphibious Assault on island that is controlled by taiwan. Later this summer. And i think that does raise the issue of whether we need to contribute more arms or military aid to taiwie 2001 defend its there is a Bipartisan Group moving laws to sanction laws would implement National Security law in hong kong money is target, and your weapon, and ultimately we need to bring more production back you need to take power away from china if you are less reliant on them. Maria that is certainly one of the major things that will come out of this pandemic. After a 500 point runup for the dow tuesday, this wednesday morning, we are looking at another, what, maybe another 300 point runup when the opening bell sounds. Theres two reasons for this. First of all, the economy, the opening up of the economy keeps on going. The indicators point to more travel, more eating out, more shopping and today, six states relax their restrictions even more. The faster the pace
