The United States hasek ploded now exploded more than 180 thousands cases, more than half in new york city. In new york state. And new jersey. In total the coronavirus is now killed more than 3600 americans. President trump and his administration continue their whole of government approach. That now includes already extending social distancing guidelines through articl april. And signing a 2 trillion dollar rescue package for americans hard hit by the virus. Were expected to be hit harder. President s actions earning him highest Approval Ratings of his presidency, despite the years long effort of radical dimms, left wing, National Media and rinos conspiring to over throw the president , politico today, ran this headline how coronavirus blew up the plan to take downtow down donald tru. Two reports shedding new light on the effects and transmission of coronavirus, one study by yale medical professor, minds the virus remains contagious in a patients body up to 8 days after the symptoms subside. One suggests that the patient remains in quarantine for two weeks after recovered. Another study found widespread contamination of areas near coronavirus patients. Indicating that the virus could be transmitted through the air. The study finds quote, limited evidence that some potential for airborne transmission exists. Joining us, tonight to give us some perspective and bring his imincimmense knowledge. Last week we learned that dr. Lipkin tested positive for coronavirus. And that the case, my first question to you, are hope you are feeling well how are you feeling . I am much better than a week ago. Im excuse me. Im not entirely well, but imdramaticalldram im dramaticay improved. Lou can you give us a sense where you think you are in terms of days. Im day 12. I started with a cough. And a cold. Coathat progressed tofever, shoa splitting headache, i have beenn getting potter fo potty bette past Getting Better for the past 4 or 5 days. God bless, we wish you a speedy recovery. A full recovery. These reports that i have shared. Talking about whether people should remain two weeks isolated, after they fully recovered. As the study put it, your thoughts on that. Tests that they rely on to give you this idea there still 8 days of tests, they are very sensitive. Not the same thing as demonstrating infectious virus, is is not unreasonable thing to request people stay out for two weeks, unless we can release them nearl ear earlier because t negative. Lou widespread testing is still not what we wish it were. Were still well behind that particular curve. But there are great advances that are made by these pharmaceutical companies. Were just at a point where they are not yet ready to get to the patient. Or person who does need the testing, including our Health Care Workers. How long do you think based on what you know of what has been achieved so far, from 5 minute testing, to 24 hours. All of these are great leaps of advancement. There has been a tremendous improvement in access to testi testing. It has been a private Public Partnership that food and Drug Administration has pushed forward, i am encouraged had. Another study, is university of nebraska. I want to make sure people understand that difference between aerosol and airborne transmission, this is not a trivial. We mean virus is floating in air over great distancing that is airborne, that not what they found in nebraska, they found widespread contamination of the immediate environment. That is something that we have known for a long time. And this in fact is what worries me the most in terms of transmission. Whether you talk about a subway, bus or car or where you might come into contact with a sures that that hasurfacethat has bee. Lou i know, you know, as sick as you have been, being treated throughout. Did you take any particular new advanced drug to help you in this 12 day period . If you im happy, my physicians recommended the hydorxychloroquine. That is what i took for a period of 5 days, i do not know whether or not it had an impact. I didnt try the other way. The feeling is that this was safest drug to take. And so that is what i did. Well, doctors taking care of a fellow doctor, all of you among the best in the world. That is a powerful recommendation to all physicians when it comes to hydorxychloroquine. And will chloroquine. Your thoughts about the drug. And the fast track that the fda the trump administration, have put this on. I think we need is an appropriate trial, there is a risk of a placebo affect. And only way to do that follow the evidence. And were doing such trials add columbia and elsewhere. I certainly hope this is proven to be an effective remedy it would make me feel better to have Something Else to offer, i have been pushing hard on plasma therapy, were close to getting that through the fda. Lou that is encouraging. I know tha that work continu. We know of one patient signed up for that experiment, i guess i could call it. Shows great promise, as you have pointed out to us from the beginning. Even preyour own experience. Personal experience with the coronavirus. Your thoughts tonight. When were told by dr. Birx and dr. Fauci and corona task force, birx said if it goes right we could see 200,000 deaths, this is beyond sobering, your thoughts. Well, i think that is a projection. With all caveats associated with projections we hope that is an upper bound, one thing i can say, fact that president hasek 10ehasextend that president whee keep things under wraps, i applaud that, it is courageous and important. Were trying to do, everyone knows that flatten that curve. The sooner we do that, the more aggressively we do it sooner we can get out of this economic doldrums were in as well. Lou and i want to conclude with where you are with the fda. Your experience to this point with the plasma therapy. If you could as we wrap up, give us where you think that you stand right now with the fda. Im still very bullish on this, i think this something that will have a huge impact. On people who are ill. And it may prevent infections too, there a large group at hopkins preceding with this. Were trying to do all we can to promote it. And we hope that as soon as we get approval from fda well move forward went days, this is within days, i am bullish and eager to proceed. Lou doctor were eager for you to get back to full time work, and recover fully your health. It good of you to spend time with us, thank you very much. Thank you, luol ways a pleasure to talk with you. Lou thank you so much. And justice department, watch dog horowitz is beginning to learn that fbi cannot be trusted, sending a 15 page memorandum to Christopher Wray yesterday, stating that fbi abuse of fisa went beyond what we call spygate, looking at 29 fisa applications aside from those of the 4 in question. And find required evidence too back up their claims on 4 of applications, 3 may never have existed, 25 had what are called errors, that were inadequately supported facts, they were not facts. In point of fact. Fbi officials admit they have done little over site of these applications. In other words, the fbi is upside down. But now that President Trump is Holding Daily briefings with his Coronavirus Task force the left they dont want him to be covered any more, they want him off the air. Im not actually shee sure, t we should care it live, we should run snip its, they are his new apprentice, his new rallies. All of us should stop broadcasting it, it will cost lives. I cant help but feel the daily sessions are bad for the country. Even dangerous from a Public Health perspective. Lou the most pompous entities on the left. That is really saying something. Other employees were getting everything ready, and others making it safe for workers to come in every day, check them at door, they wear gloves and masks and hand sanitizers. It is just, and then i got other Companies Involved that have to. It has been been about a blessing from god to be able to be in a position, to pivot that quick. Lou and it wonderful,. You mentioned god, you have the bible written large behind you, i suspect around you, people of faith do, ton turn to chris hay, in intrepid host on msnbc. I personally cant help but feel the daily session bad for the country. Even dangerous from a public helhealth perspectives. Seems crazy, that you have the my pillow guy up there talking about reading the bible. Wow. Lou the pillow guy talk about reading the bible. I heard acosta attack me too, he was just 10 feet away from me, this is i said mr. President , you do these press conferences, i have friends on the left, said mike, you be im not a big fan of President Trump, but god bless him, he is doing an amazing job, these are real people that are seeing now, that this president has been the best man in charge for such a time as this just those newscastsers, we know who they are, cnn what they did to me, i am sorry a put on a message of pope t hope to countt god gave us grace in november of 2016, a nation that turned its back on god, right now were part of this big revival, we is go get back in with family and bibles and everyone pray this Great Administration to make decisions to get us through this. You know. I i am appalled by the journalists that i see. I used to think that, they are not that evil, yes, they are. Lou it is you know so nice to hear words spoken by a man of faith. To hear your passion. For the lords word. And i just, i have to be honest, i am petty center, i am rebelling this thoughts about the left, across the country as they heard your words here. Having a fit. So. They are having a fit. I want to Say Something too. I went to the white house for a round table events, i didnt be i would be speaking. I was at white house for 5 1 2 hours, and get to hear first hand how you know like democrat governor asked for help, this would have taken 8 months our president , he knows how to takts, he said well do it in one day, fda did, boom, done, ioes that old doctorate, you do want the best doctor that you particularly dont like that is best surgeon in the world or doctor that you like but does not know how to do surgery, this is where we are, people see why the press conferences who are president is, his heart is to help. He has a gift, is he takes a problem, he listens and takes in information and comes up with a solution, god has given him a gift. And i tell you, i feel a lot more secure having been at the white house and hearing that stuff. I truly believe most americans people far more secure having this president in the white house than they would any other american. I think that will be tested against in november. I know that this president has a very good vision of the future, i think it share by most importance as well. Mike lindell, you are great to be here, we appreciate it we look forward to seeing you here again soon, thank you, mike. Thank you, god bless you all. Lou god bless you, thank you. Nicole saphier. Author of make america healthy again, doctor, good to have you with us. Is as we speak new york city is the epicenter of the worse pandemic this trik strike this country since 1918. Your thoughts about how this is affecting the lives of millions of new yorkers in manhattan, and beyond. You know, this is very different from any tragedy that i would say or city or country has seen. Rights now we have just exceeded deaths in 9 11. And that was a different time. You know that was anger. It was a lot more turmoil, nowa health care, people are afraid, not just afraid of a viral infection. But afraid of the economic downn fall, this will be temporary for us. Well get on the other side of this, as long as everyone continues to social distance. Lou we hear report after report of a shortage of masks and personal protective equipment for our doctors and nurses and technicians and the Health Care Workers in particularly in city of new york. How quickly is that being addressed . Do you have a sense of that . Well, i can tell you that you know things have changed a lot daybyday at our hospitals, last week we were told Health Care Workers unless we dealt directly with covid19 patients we would not wearing masks, now we have to and reuse them, every morning as we walk in they wait outside for us doctor. I apologize. You got it. This is the president , thank you very much doctor, President Trump. In midst of a Great National trial. Unlike any we have ever faced before. You see is better than most, were at war with a deadly virus, success in this fight will require full absolute measure of our collective strength, love and devotion. Very important. Each of us has the power through our own choices and actions to save american lives and rerescue the most vulnerable, every citizen is called upon to make sacrifices and every business asked to fulfill its patriotic duty, and making fundamental changes in how we live, work, and interact. I would not be surprised to see this go on long into future, when this virus is gone. And defeated some of the things were doing now. Will be very Good Practice for the future, including for not getting the flu, which is very devastating also. Some of what were learning now will live to, i believe that. Live on to future, i believe, that shaking hands or not shaking hands, washing hands all of the time, staying a little a. 15 days ago we published our guidelines, sunday i announced this will be extended until april 30, in a few moments dr. Birx will explain the data that form the basis for our decision to extend the guidelines and dr. Fauci wil will explain why it is critical to follow the guidelines for next 30 days, it is a matter of life and death. I know our citizens will rise to the occasion, they already have sacrificed a lot. We have greatest economy in the history of the economy, were the greatest economy in the world, we have the best unemployment numbers and employment numbers that we have ever had by far. And in one instant we said we have no choice but to close it up. Just as americans have always done, they will do a job like few have seen before. They are proud to do it i see that. There is a great pride right now, before we hear from our expertses, we have a few other announcements today. The Treasury Department and small be administration announce further details on the pay check protection program, made possible by 2 trillion dollar relief bill that i sign into law last week. 350 billion in loans will be avaiavailable to have Small Businesses meet payroll and other expenses for up to two months, they will be for govern as long as or forgiven as long as they keep playing there are there are workers. It begins friday april 3, today, i spoke with leading internet and phone providessers who are doing a tremendous job of keeping our internet and lines of communication flowing under very strongly increased strain. They are making calls. Among leaders, i spoke to were hahhains of verizon, and Randall Stevenson of at t, miy is mike t of tmobile, john malone of liberty media, dexter goi o of altis is, and from lion tree, also, pat of Cox Communications and jeffrey story of centuryli centurylink. They do an incredible job, if you look at other continents, at europe, they went a different route. Much different route, we were talking about that a while ago. That they are having tremendous problems. Other countries are having problems, other continents are having problems. But with business at a level that nobody has seen before, on the internet it is holding up incredibly well. And they are expecting that to continue no matter what happened, no matter how much more gains. If it can gain more than it already is i dont know, they are setting record. Update you on distribution of emergency resourcing and supplies. I will let mike pence speak to that in a while. Were giving massive amount of medical equipment to supplies to the 50 states, we also are holding back quite a bit. We have almost 10,000 ve vin ventilators that are ready to g the surge is coming and strong. We want to be able to immediately move it to place, we are ready to go. We distributed, i spoke with governor of michigan, a great conversation. We sent a large number of ventilators to michigan, were sending them to louisiana, we sent additional to new york. Additional to new jersey. And i will say in new york, fema is supplying 250 ambulances, 500 emts to help respond to the increasing case load. A lot of ambulances. In california the army corps of engineers developing 8 facilities to expand Hospital Capacity up to 50,000 beds, 50,000. And had a great conversation last night with gavin newsom. He is doing a good job. We in constant communications. The usns Mercy Hospital ship is now operational in los angeles. Receiving patients. New york as you know the comfort. Everyone watched that, it is in place, will be very short while receiving large numbers of patients, over a thousand rooms and 12 operating rooms, fema provided a hundred travel the trailers to assist with housing needs, were ordering hundreds more. In michigan fema will soon deliver in addition to ventilators 250 bed Field Hospital, and army corps of engineers is evaluating locations to build alternate care facilities, a Field Hospital in michigan of 250 beds, it may double up soon, depending on the need. Fema and army corps of engineers are prepared to go there quickly, get it done. In louisiana were delivering 2 Field Hospitals to provide 500 new hospital beds. I have been talking with the governor, john edwards, and army corps of engineers has been really doing incredible work. Establishing 3,000 bed alternate care site at new Orleans Convention center. Which will be operational this week. 3,000 bed alternate care site and a 500 bi bed, new hospital n louisiana, they really got hit, it started late, it was looking good, confident all of a sudden then all of a sudden it reared up from nowhere. In addition to the supply we are delivering we give hospitals the flexibility to use new facilities that include Surgical Care centers this care for patients who are not infected. For example, i know that many expecting mothers are concerned about exposing their newborn babies to the virus. They should be. With our action yesterday, hospitals now have the authority to create special areas for mothers to deliver their babies in a safe and healthy environment. Separate. Over past two months the u. S. State department organized one of largest and most complex International Evacuation operations in american history. Mike pompeo has been working round the clock. A long with ambassador obrien. Since january 29, we have successfully repatriated over 25,000 americans from more than 50 countries. Where they were literally stuck in some cases, locked in. I salute the Public Servants at department of state and their counterparts at dhs and hhs, who have played such an Important Role in this. You probably read about the young people in peru. Young people in brazil. And they were absolutely stuck. We into th got them out, almoste is out now. Back home with their parents and wives, husbands. I want every american to be prepared for hard days ahead, well go through a tough two weeks, then hopefully as experts predict as i think a lot of us predict, after studying it so hard, well see some real light at the end of the tunnel, it will be a very painful, very painful two weeks. When you look and see at night the kind of death that has been caused by this invisible enemy, it is incredible. I was watching last night governor murphy of new jersey say 29 people died today. Meaning yesterday. Others talk about numbers far greater, but you know a state, i know new jersey so well. 29 people. And hundreds in others, hundreds in other states. This is going to be a rough two week period. We face a difficult few weeks as we approach that really important day where we see things get better all of a sudden, ing i it is going to be like a bursts of light, i think and hope, strength will be tested in and our endure a endurance trie. But america will answer with love, courage and iron clad resolve, this is the time for all americans to come together, do your part, i appreciate a lot of media, we had a lot of really good things said. I think only good things can be said when you look at job that has been done, i spoke with franklin graham. Samaritans purse has been like so many others, just been amazing, so fast. They did i it so fast, he has bn doing this for a long time, but people see what they have done. Franklin graham, a special family. As we said plane loads of masks, and gloves and supplies to communities battling the playing plague. We send our prayers, we pray for doctors, nurses and paramedics and Truck Drivers and Police Officers and sanitation workers and above all the people fighting for their lives in new york. And all across the land. I watched as doctors and nurses went to a help in elm h hearst this morning to see the trailers out there. They are freezers, nobody can believe it. I spoke to some of my friends, they cant believe when they are seeing. I watched the doctors and the nurses walking into that hospital this morning, this like military people going to battle, to war. The bravery is incredible. And i just have to take my hat. I would take my hat, if i were wearing a hat, i would rip that hat off so fast, i would say you people are just incredible, they really are, they are very brave, they go in they dont know, you have a lot of things flying around in the air. You dont know what you are touching, is it safe . You see where you have friends that go into the hospital, you see how is he doing, two days late ethey say sir, he is in a coma. So. They happen that we have never seen before here. With all that being said, country has come together. Like ive never seen before. And we will prevail, we will w win. And hopefully will be in a short period of time, with that, i would lining to ask dr. Brix to come up show you some of the data that has been i think brilliantly put together, and right after, that i will ask dr. Fauci to speak. And mike pence will give you some of the recent events that have taken place. And some of the statistics that we have that i think woo the be interesting here, thank you very much. Thank you, mr. President. If i could have first slide. So all ways the slide is labels goals of Com Community mittcasiomitigation, this gips n middle and end with community that have to do things for next 30 days to make a difference, you know about large Blue Mountain you can see behind me. I want to thanks 5 or 6 domestic modelers, from harvard, and columbia who helped us, it was there model that created the ability to see what these mitigations could do, how steeply they could depress the blue frocurve from. In their estimate they between 1. 5 million and 2. 2 Million People in United States succumb could to this virus without mitigation, with their studies and showing us what social distancing would do, what happened if people said home and careful every day to wash their hands and worry about touching their faces. That what extra horde extra ordg it could be if people followed these. A hill down to 100 to 200,000 deaths, that still way too much, next slide. See a model out of universityf washington that models from cases up, utilizing the experience around the globe to understand how this information that we have from italy and spain and south korea, and china, could really help us givegiven site to hospital needd ventilator needs and the number of people who have could succumb to the illness. This model that provides move detail of time course possible. But this model assumes full mitigation, informed every night, by the reality on the ground coming in from new york, new jersey, and the United States and model and informed every morning so that it is adjusted so it is uptodate every day. This is the model of protection of United States, this is very much focused on next two weeks, and stark reality of what this virus will do as it moves through communities. But this say slide that gives us great hope, and understanding about what is possible. I the bottom of the slide, you can barely see the blue line at the very bottom. That is the current cases in california. The cumulative cases in california. Where they are doing significant testing. The next lineup is connecticut. The orange line is new jersey. The blue line is new york. The yellow line is washington. We all remember Washington State, it was just a month ago they started to have the issues in Washington State. But they brought together their communities, and their hell h providers and put in strong mitigation methods and testing. You can see the result in Washington State and california is. But without the continuing a for the next 30 days, anything could change. Next slide. So im sure you are interested in all of the states, this slide all 50 states, district of columbia. I think it showed in stark reality difference between new york, new jersey and other states is similar populations and urban areas, our goal over the next 30 days is to ensure that states that you see the, the 48 across the bottom maintain this lower level of new cases. With the hope that we dont have significant outbreaks in other states and other metro areas, as the Community Comes together, to Work Together. And ensure that the Healthcare Providers in the globe and United States are strengthened by our resolve to continue to mitigate community by community, this done, community by community. Were very it is a lot to ask. Have you done it for 15 days, if you can show next slide. This is whether give what gis highway patrol, cashope. This is case finding in italy, they are beginning to turn the corner in new cases, they are entering their fourth week of full mitigation and showing what is possible if we Work Together as a community, country to change the course of that pandemic together. This graphic, and graphic of many of this states, that gives us hope of what is possible with continuing for another 30 days. And ami amid that hope like we w in new york and chicago, we see changes in massachusetts. I think that it really shows depth of dedication of the American People to the Health Care Providers. Because they can see the strain this puts on every nurse, doctor, respiratory eithe thera, pharmacist and lab tech that is working together to stem this tide of unrelenting sick people coming to their doors, no one has turned away. You can see how stressful it is on them, it stressful to follow the guidelines, but it is more stressful and more difficult to the shoulders on th hold to n frontline, there is no magic bullet, no magic vaccine or therapy it is behavior, each translates to something that changes the course of the viral pandemic over the next 30 days. Yothank you. Thank you. What dr. Birx said that are really two Dynamic Forces that are opposing each other here, as i mentioned several times, the virus it left to its open devices will do that dark curve. Other force is what were doing, in form of mitigation. Now, these are very revealing bits of data, because you saw what happened i italy, that does not happy all at once. That did does not happen all at once, you will see why we are really convinced that mitigation is going to be doing the trick for us. Because what you have, you have increase in new cases, at a certain rate, when the increase in new cases begins to level off, the secondary effect is less hospitalizations, and next effect is less intensive care, and next is less deaths. The deaths and the intensive care and hospitalization, always lag behind that early indication that there are less new cases per day. The way we saw in italy, and likely seeing, i dont want to jump the gun on this but a little bit of this in new york, we have to brace ourselves in next several days to a week, we will continue to see things go up. We cannot be discouraged by that, the mitigation is working and it will work. The slide that dr. Birx showed with new york and new jersey, and then the cluster of other areas, our goal which i believe we can accomplish is to get the hot spots places, new yorks, and new jerseys and help them get around that curve, as personally prevent the cluster of areas that have not yet gone to that spike. To prevent them from getting that spike. And the answer to that is mitigation. Now, the 15 days that we had, of mitigation, clearly have had an effect, it is tough to kwa quant tate it because of the opposing forces, we feel strongly well necessity of additional 30 days, now is the time, to not take your foot off o of the brake. I hope and i know we can do over the. As i i said the other day in one of the interviews, were a strong and resilient nation f you look at our history, weve been through some terrible ordeals. This is tough. People are suffering. People are dying. It is inconvenient from a societal standpoint, from an economic standpoint to go through this, but this is going to be the answer to our problems. So lets all pull together and make sure as we look forward to the next 30 days, we do it with all the intensity and force that we can. Thank you. Thank you, mr. President and to dr. Birx and dr. Fauci. I know i speak on behalf of the president. People all across this country when i express our great admiration and appreciation to both of you for helping to steer our nation through this challenging time. American people have now seen what the president saw when he made the decision at the end of 15 days to slow the spread, to ask the American People to give us 30 more days, to continue to put into practice the president s coronavirus guidelines for america.
