Maria we want to get a check on Global Markets this morning. A lot of action, rally in europe as well as the u. S. Right now. Take a look at european indices, cac quarante up 72 and dax up 147 points. Euro zone purchasing managing index better than expected. The spread of the coronavirus is expected to cause weakness going forward. Remember, the outlook thats materially changing right now. We continue to see the numbers today pretty strong. In asian overnight markets are mostly higher. Take a look, the weak spot was hong kong. The others fractionally moving although korea was up 2 and a quarter percent. We do have more bad Economic News out of china. The service purchasing manager index slide to go record low overnight. February car sales plummeting 80 year over year. South korea announcing stimulus package to fight coronavirus. People are saying if he has to cut 50 basis points before meeting, what does he know that we dont know. Maybe its a lot worse that we thought, as a result the dow, nasdaq and s p 500 closing with nearly 3 decline off of the lows of the day. Dow industrials were down 786 points at 4 00 oclock on wall street. Meanwhile big rebound this morning and super showdown across the country. Results from 14 primaries pouring in overnight. Joe biden declared the winner in texas as part of clean sweep in the south. Biden claiming victory in 8 other streets including massachusetts Elizabeth Warrens home state, senator coming in third there. Bernie sanders picking up a big prize in california along with his home state of vermont, casey steigel live in dallas, good morning, to you, casey. Hey, nice to be on the program. Yeah, pretty big morning in the state of texas. Joe biden really the comeback kid considering the day before super tuesday we were reporting on a poll that had been released showing Bernie Sanders with doubledigit lead. Now, later that day, of course, we had senator Amy Klobuchar drop out and then later appear with joe biden here in dallas and endorse him as did former indiana mayor pete buttigieg. Looks like as if lastminute push, narrower field and, of course, those endorsements pushed him to a victory in texas. Look at the win. The numbers still sort of being tabulated. Not everyone fully reporting. Biden defeating sanders by nearly 4 . 34 to 30 roughly. Mike bloomberg walking away with 15 . Elizabeth warren with 12 with no delegates. Joe bidens lastminute Campaign Push as we were just talking about ahead of super tuesday very much paid off especially when you consider that about half of voters polled say that they made up their minds at the last minute. Either within the last few days or within the last few weeks which could have helped him. Here is part of bidens victory lap speech last night in california. Just a few days ago the press and pundits declared the campaign dead, and then came South Carolina and they have something to say about it. [cheers and applause] we were told when you got super tuesday it would be over, well, it may be over for the other guy. We need a movement and are developing a movement, a black, white, latino, native american, asian american, gay and straight. Sanders hitting on diversity there. Something that loot analysts could have let him to a victory in texas and california because a large subset of the electorate is, in fact, latino voters. It may have worked for sanders in california but joe biden, the victor in texas for super tuesday. Maria. Maria sure is, casey, thank you. Live and joining the conversation Hedge Fund Manager publisher with trading with cody. Cody is here. Kelly torrence is here this morning. Biden is back, i guess. Dagen biden is back and the polls were just dead wrong. I went to bed literally after they called virginia because going into super tuesday they had bernie in first place in an average of polls an Mike Bloomberg in second in the state of virginia. What joe biden did was replicate success in South Carolina as the wall street journal editorial page points out. He brought together a coalition of african americans, baby boomers, center left voters and virginias turnout was nearly doubled what it was in 2016, but joe biden wrapped up if they called maine for him, it would be 10 states and he literally. The list of states where Ybeth Bruzual would be poise today replicate tonights success is long. We are talking about florida, georgia, maryland, mississippi, louisiana, new jersey and connecticut and short according to dave at the cook political report, biden is currently on track for the nomination. Maria what do you think . I thought virginia as soon as i saw how bloomberg did in virginia, i knew this was beginning to be a bad night for Mike Bloomberg, god good night for joe biden. Joe biden spent 200,000. Maria wow, unbelievable. Bloomberg has to be in with 600 million already . Pretty incredible the money that he spent. Didnt get much results for money spent either. Maria as a wall street guy you want a return on your investment. Right, he spent 600 million bucks, you need more than 15 from the states. He got American Samoa, that says something about Tulsi Gabbard born in American Samoa. Dagen spent to nothing on tv, never visited, had no field offices there. This was organic support for continuing the Obama Presidency and Bernie Sanders, people dont want a revolution and then Elizabeth Warren, why she doesnt drop out today, i dont know. Maria we will see what happens with Elizabeth Warren and also Mike Bloomberg by the way, how much more money is he going to invest in this . Why are we talking money . We have a much more expanded segment on markets when we people with michael who is coming up from cornerstone macro, look at the market, cody, 2 and a half percent, the nasdaq up 170 and s p up 55 right now. Look, stocks rocked by the rare emergency move by the fed yesterday. It was supposed to calm markets over impact of the coronavirus. It did the exact opposite. 785 points s. This a reaction to that or what . This market for the last 2 or 3 weeks as the coronavirus has become what looks like a pandemic, the volatility and the dislocations on the daytoday basis where youre getting not just 2, 3, 4 swing, its 15 swings in stocks like apple. Youre moving 100 billion in value on a daytoday basis. Its more of that. Dagen its the Health Response to the virus and get factories restarted. Ive been saying this for literally a week and the swail street journal writes about it today. This cant fix it. I said it as soon as they cut rates yesterday, this looks pan enthusiasticky. Maria people are getting nervous. Both issues here and thats why youve got all hands on deck in terms of the Federal Reserve and the health ceos at the white house just yesterday trying to understand better when we will see u vaccine. Looks like its in the until the year, but, of course, therapeutics. We are on track for super tuesday rebound this morning with the dow up 536 points. Plus hardcore gamers getting comfy, the new gaming bed makes making a buzz this morning. Wait till you hear this. Back in a moment. Maria welcome back tripledigit move. Big bounceback of 2 on the dow, the nasdaq and the s p also close to 2 after yesterdays Federal Reserve emergency move to cut Interest Rate by half percentage point amid coronavirus worries. President trump responded on twitter. Federal is cutting but we are playing in level field. Not fair to usa. Time for the Federal Reserve to lead, more easing and cutting. Joining us chief investment strategist michael canterwitz. Good morning. Maria the market sold up 700 points. Well, if they are going cut rates maybe its a lot worse than we thought. Potentially. Thats the narrative that always happens in the intermeeting, they know the data is about to getting usually and create as much support for an economy thats about to hit a blind spot or soft spot here. Maria you have been talking about coronavirus as being a blind spot for companies. In other words, they dont know where this is going. Talk to us about that. Yeah, beginning the year we had a lot of stimulus from the fed cuts rates in 2019 and there were signs, leading indicators starting to show a recovery and now with the coronavirus weve had another what hopefully is a shortterm blind spot but coming out of this we already had a lot of stimulus and the fed rate cut from yesterday just added to that and so we think consumers have a really good starting point to absorb this. I wonder if maybe this actually ends up being stimulative, coronavirus itself. Supply Chain Disruption is going to cause number 1, companies to build redundant factories so they are not completely relying on china, across the board, microsoft, apple, everyone will be double ordering. I think we will have a lot of bad data but at the same time strong data on the other side of this. Too bad overly negative in near term but then probably overly strong on sustainable as things rebound and settle out at pretty good pace for the u. S. Economy. Maria would you buy into this economy . We tell investors to try to maintain balanced portfolio. Not take a lot of risks. This is something thats in the near term a blind spot. We dont know when the market will put allow and so one of the things thats interesting, some of the research that we have been publishing, as you get close where the market begins to stabilize, iconly safest parts of the market perceive as safe as utilities can become part of the riskiest parts of the markets because in past periods in the market especially shock and then see vshape rebound. All the money that youve made by hiding in safety can go away as quickly as you gained it hiding there. Dagen especially buying treasuries under 1 yield on the 10year. I mean, you could have capital losses in the investment. Are you worried, though, about the destruction, though of demand that you dont get a bounceback that that is just destroyed. Its hard to see on the other side of the blind spot, if you will, later in the year. Theres two things that we are watching that are really key. Its not the pmi data, the pmi data is really bad but ultimately to understand last last year we had a fed cycle and tariffs weighing on the manufacturing sector, its spilling over to consumer, its important to watch housing data. Today weekly data on mba, that was 8year high coming today. Its going to move higher as Mortgage Rates continue to come down. Ultimately it comes down to jobs. Unemployment rates do in the rise during period of uncertainty, the likelihood of vshape recovery is very high. Maria are you expecting a good showing . Some data it will take a while to show the weakness. Even in the u. S. We have seen pmi data and looking to hit next month and next couple of months but claims is the most Realtime Data on the Employment Situation and if that stays strong, if it doesnt start rising sharply history show that is the vshape recovery is very likely. Maria thats terrific. Vshape recovery. Michael, great to have you. Coming up a state of emergency in tennessee after series of deadly tornadoes sweep through nashville, taking you there live when we come back. We are taking a look at the health of your smartphone. Every day, comcast business is helping businesses go beyond the expected. To do the extraordinary. Take your business beyond. Maria welcome back, nashville devastated by deadly tornadoes. Grady trimbell is there now, grady. Good morning, theres still no power in this area of East Nashville. One of the hardesthit areas when the tornadoes ripped through area. Dozens of buildings were damaged, several more destroyed. You can see the roof behind me. That was lifted from a building about a block and a half away from here and carried into this neighborhood, sadly two of the at least 24 people who died did so not far from here in East Nashville and in Putnam County about 70 miles from here thats where the majority of the deaths have been reported, search and rescue teams works through the night there, they are looking for signs of life among debris and searches continue today as dozens of people are missing. Here in nashville cleanup began as soon as the sun came up yesterday. Strangers helping neighbors to get things back to normal. I talked to several people in this neighborhood who described what it was like as the storms ripped through here. It felt, sounded like somebody took a twoton pickup and i knew something was going on. Several hours later little bit of going to shortcutting because i would describe it as run away titanic dock. It was so loud. So loud. And the president expressed his condolences to the people of tennessee yesterday and announced that he plans to visit the damaged areas like this one on friday, maria. Maria grady, thank you, the pictures are just devastating. We will take a break, when we come back the results are in, joe biden makes big comeback on super tuesday last night. We will tally it up. Maria welcome back, good wednesday morning, it is wednesday march fourth, top stories 6 30 a. M. On the east coast, futures pointing rebound at tart of trading with dow industrials up 557 points, better than 2 . Nasdaq is up 174 and s p up at 57, this on top of a big on the heels of the emergency rate cut, that caused alarm for investors, the dow, the nation and s p 500 closing with nearly 3 decline across the board. Did end off of the lows of the day but 785 points selloff on the dow. Rates keep going lower. Global market this is morning look like this, another rally in europe underway taking a cue from wall street. We do have Economic Data that led the moves. Euro zone pmi coming better than expected. Growth hitting 6month high but the spread of coronavirus is expected to cause weakness and slowtown slowdown. Dagen they go up in value and you can never get your hands on one because they allocate because they make pr announcements that if youre a longtime customer of bentley, thats how you get one. Maria most cars go down in value. Dagen not a those. Not the ones that are 12 on the planet. I would rather have a cyber truck. Maria allimportant primary placing former Vice President in the drivers seat for the democratic nominee for president. Biden taking 9 states including texas but it was vermont senator Bernie Sanders notching the days biggest prize, california. The candidates spoke out last night. Its a good night. Its a good night. They dont call super tuesday for nothing. [cheers and applause] just a few days ago the press and for pundits declared the campaign dead. Im here to report that we are very much alive. [cheers and applause] when we began the race for the presidency, everybody sate it couldnt be done, but tonight i tell you with absolute confidence we are going to win the democratic nomination. [cheers and applause] and we are going to defeat the most dangerous president in the history of this country. [cheers and applause] no matter how many delegates we win tonight, we have done something no one else thought was possible. In just 3 months weve gone from 1 to the polls to being a contender for the democratic nomination for president. [cheers and applause] my name is Elizabeth Warren and im the woman who is going to beat donald trump. [cheers and applause] im in this race because i believe i will make the best president of the United States. [cheers and applause] you dont get what you dont fight for. Im in this fight. [cheers and applause] there are 4 candidates remaining in the race. Hello. [laughter] we are still here, guys, we are still here. [cheers and applause] maria oh, yeah, shes still there. Michigan congressman Debbi Dingell, always a pleasure, great to see you this morning, thank you so much for being here. Good morning, good to be with you all. Maria lets talk about last night, is joe biden your guy . I am not endorsing. I remember what it was like 4 years ago, tension, hate, i want to be a person that pulls everybody together, so i have friends across the board, but im paying very close attention because november matters to me. Maria what do you think last night told us about where we are in the race . So i clearly joe biden got momentum from last night. Theres a poll this morning, so, for instance, michigan is next tuesday, Bernie Sanders won michigan 4 years ago and everybody said hillary had it in the bag. This is when one week out, you know, i think bernie could win michigan and everybody thought i was crazy and bernie won michigan. I want to get home and hear what people are saying and theres a poll in papers today showing and i will tell you categorically yesterday Bernie Sanders would have won the election if it had been held yesterday morning. Maria wow. Hes now according to his poll biden is now up 7 points. Hes got 29 and senator sanders has 22 . Both Elizabeth Warren and bloomberg got numbers i think one was 10 and i cant the other 7. Elizabeth warren was fourth. You know, we will see whats going to happen. This is a long time. These races change overnight right now which you see and we will have to see what happens this week and can ask me next week and what i think will happen in michigan but i want to be on the ground. When that who is going to win detroit . Its interesting that michigan voted for bernie last time around. Of course, michigan was one of those states that Hillary Clinton did not actually go to. Maria thats right. At the end of the election. Debbie, congresswoman, Kelly Torrence here. We are hearing that the establishment is really worried about Bernie Sanders and they have certainly a lot of people are going behind biden. Are you seeing a lot of this worry . Im somebody who refuses to get pulled into it. I think every candidate would be a strong candidate. I know that this surprises people but i am a very strong support e for medicare for all. My fatherinlaw was the author of social security, most people dont realize that and first introduced universal health care in early 40s. I dont freak out. I mean, i understand the issues, i want to understand that they labor wants to make sure they keep benefits they have and they dont want to pay more. You to talk to folks about what it is. Maria youre okay with doing away with the Current Health care that 170 Million People have from the Public Sector . See, what we have to do is to sit down, first of all, the 170 million from Public Sector, how safe is that . We have to sit down and talk about how to design the system. Do you know we are the only industrialized nation in the world that does not guaranty health care and our company is paying for that insurance and it is a cost factor that has to get maria whats your plan to pay for it . You will save a lot of money when you eliminate the bureaucracy. We pay twice as much. Maria how much can you really save by that . Youre talking about pennies, we are talking about 30 trilliondollar plus. We have to talk about the real plan and we will sit down and you explain to me why we spend way to as much than other countries and Health Outcomes are worse . Maria unable to battle the coronavirus, what about that . Lawmakers to vote on 7 and a half billion dollars emergency package, top House Democrats said bill could hit the floor today with the senate potentially voting tomorrow. Obviously theres a big concern over the cost of vaccines reportedly a road block for this bill passing. What are you hearing, where do you stand on this, are you going to vote for it . I think all of us have to vote for it because corona vice are you sure is not a partisan issue. We have to make sure that we have resources to keep the country safe and i think the issue on the vaccines and i dont know what happened overnight, i think that there was discussion that the government would actually be the one that bought the vaccine and made sure that everybody was getting access to it because thats what you need in terms of protecting each other from not having it. You know, there are times when you have a crisis or an emergency and youve got to do what youve got to do and this could have devastating consequences. We have to figure out down the road. I do think we have to talk about balancing budgets down the road but you cant play political games with the coronavirus. I wont take shots at anybody and i will work with everybody to keep our nation safe. Dagen congresswoman, the only industrialized nation that doesnt have health care, we, indeed, have health care, we dont have guarantied correct. Dagen and to that point the United States is weighing paying hospitals for treating the uninsured for coronavirus, reimbursing for treating patients because we are a Benevolent Society and take care of our ill and the question is if you rip up insurance millions of people of people that quite like it. Im not sure i understood the last part of the question. We dont want people afraid to go in and get tested and they are contagious and endangers all of us. Someone said we cant charge anybody. I said what we have to do right now is to make sure that if someone needs treatment they are getting it so they are not a danger to the community that they are in and if you have Health Insurance we need to work with Health Insurance companies to make sure the Insurance Companies are also covering the services. Maria congresswoman, good to see you this morning, thank you so much. Good to see you. Maria Debbi Dingell in washington. Peace deal announcing air strike days after peace agreement. T interesting outside of coronavirus people want to go stay home and entertain more and be with family more and cook more at home. We are starting to see the trend. Obviously we dont look at anything around coronavirus as an advantage but one of the beautiful things about meal kits we have full visibility in supply chain from end to end and we know exactly where everything is coming from, exactly where its going to and exactly we are able to manage that and we do see people finding the important in what they bring into their homes, this is food, this is intimate, this is a part of their family. Joe biden super night, the former Vice President winning big in the south last night but senator Bernie Sanders won the biggest primary contest of all in california. Edward lawrence is live in vermont this morning. Good morning to you, edward. Reporter yeah, maria, good morning from downtown burlington. Campaign for Bernie Sanders a little disappointed they didnt edge out texas. They got the big prize of california, the Exposition Center last night was just deafening the tone inside, a frenzy by the crowd listening to senator Bernie Sanders. He talked about his movement he wants to create to beat president donald trump. It is a movement which speaks to the working families of this country who are sick and tired of working longer hours for low wages and seeing all new income and wealth going to the top 1 . [ cheering and applause ] reporter and sanders says there will be healthcare for all. He also says his campaign will be for the working class and middle class people. He never mentioned former Vice President joe biden or Michael Bloomberg by name but he did say that you cannot buy an election. He also said that the standard politics will not work to win against president donald trump. Sanders says his movement is not just taking on the corporate establishment, but he says hes also taking on the political establishment. Maria. Maria edward, thank you. Edward lawrence this morning in vermont. Joining us now is nbc partner ceo an, mark penn. Thanks so much for being here. Good morning. Maria you were among the first to say on this program that you would not write out Hillary Clinton, that she may very well want to ride in on her white horse if we do see a brokered convention. Give us your reaction to last night and what this means for others perhaps. Is this race set or are you thinking hillary could come in . I think this race now is set. Maria okay. Its really a two person contest. They both have strong constituencies. I think last night socialism was on the ballot in the Democratic Party and it lost. I think this is a resurgence of the moderate wing of the Democratic Party in order to prevent a huge loss against President Trump and i think the results on that are clear but theyre both neck and neck. I think going into it people expected that sanders would come out about 150 delegates ahead, instead hes about 50 delegates behind. So its a real race. It will go down to the finish. But the next couple of primaries will tell us whether theres continued joementum or not. Maria last night on fox business we had special programming. I was there, i spoke with the former ceo of new york stock exchange, dick grasso. Listen to this. Lets not write off and underestimate what Hillary Clinton might do and lets not underestimate what president obama might do and say you know what, weve got to get michelle in there. I mean, all bets are off if in fact Bernie Sanders comes to the table and is the nominee. The democrats do not want to go up against donald trump with Bernie Sanders in defending socialism. Hillary is not out. You go to a brokered convention, hillary is going to jump in. Maria shes going to ride in on a white horse. So do you think we do go to a brokered convention or is now bidens the guy . Well, i think were going to see what happens today or tomorrow. We generally expect that Elizabeth Warren and mayor bloomberg will probably pull out rather than try to force a brokered convention. As i said to you on this show, Bernie Sanders biggest problem last night was that Elizabeth Warren didnt pull out, unlike other moderate unlike moderate candidates who pulled out, paved the way for joe biden. Elizabeth warren stuck in there, her votes combined with biden would have put him over the top in a lot of states. Is she going to continue . Theres no rational under which she should or would. So thats why i think this is going to be a twoperson race. Well have a winner now before the convention. I think this dynamic has winnoed down faster than people expected and joe biden is back which people didnt expect. Why isnt sanders getting together with warren, probably like biden did with buttigieg and the people who dropped out. Why are they not brokering some kind of an agreement that she could be the head of state if she would drop out or she could be his Vice President . Well, technically youre not supposed to make agreements like that in exchange lets be realistic. In exchange for dropping out. Just a few weeks ago, they had a head to head fight where warren accused sanders of saying that no women could win, basically suggesting that warren shouldnt be running at all. And it doesnt seem that warren got over that. And then she was called a liar and back and forth. So that was a hugely damaging fight for sanders. Warren has instead dug in. Well see whether or not she changes her tune today. She didnt even win her home state. The reason for her rational despite New York Times endorsement is over. Dagen let me just repeat that. She didnt win her own state. She came in third in the state that she represents as a u. S. Senator. Thats how much shes disliked in massachusetts. Mark, Mike Bloomberg trying to buy the nomination and its the worst Online Dating campaign in the history of Online Dating. Well, look, in fairness, bloomberg came in in case biden collapsed, in case there was no moderate alternative. He got hundreds of thousands of votes. He didnt win anything but American Samoa. But if things had been different, if biden hadnt recovered in South Carolina, i think you would have seen a different result. Also, remember, it wasnt his ads. The debate performances were really quite difficult for bloomberg and it was those performances that blunted his momentum. Because we keep saying oh, thats the person, thats the person. Bloomberg had momentum. He stalled out in the debates. Now i think hes going to look at it and say bidens back, the rational for his candidacy is now over. Dagen cindy brady moment, the red light went on in the camera and every thought in his head flew out of his ears. Maria can joe biden beat donald trump, mark . You know, in head to head races in my poll right now, almost all the democrats are still ahead of trump. Trumps at 47 job approval. He is now on the edge of where i think a president can win reelection. However, the head to heads at least in the National Polls havent turned in his favor. Until we have a joined race, until theres one candidate against another candidate and each go at each other, i would not make a prediction on how this race is going to come out. I think it will be very close. I think sanders would have lost quite heavily. I think biden has an opportunity to take back some of those working class voters and thats what makes him a much more serious contender for donald trump. Maria all right. We love getting your insights, mark. Thank you. Thank you. Maria coming up this morning, smartphone dirtier than a toilet bowl, a group of researchers shedding light on how man how me lives on your phone. The vatican embracing 21st century technology. Mariacoronavirus showing no sigf slowing down, the death toll in the United States has risen to nine and there are 100 people in at least 15 states now dealing with this highly contagious disease. One common way germs can spread is through your smartphone. A new study finds that smartphones have more than six times the amount of germs than your average toilet seat. Joining us right now to help understand how to protect yourself from your own device, Infectious Disease expert and senior scholar, dr. Amesh adaljia. Thank you for joining us once again. Thanks for having me. Maria disinfectant wipes are selling out around the country. You cant have hand wipes for years and years in your cabinet. They actually expire. How cautious should we be about watching dates and tell us the best way to keep clean. There is an expiry date on many products you use for cleaning. Some of that expiry date is a little bit not validated. You might have some time after it expires that theres still effectiveness there. You dont always have to use hand sanitizers. There is Old Fashioned soap and water that works just fine keeping your hands clean. Maria tell us the latest on coronavirus and whether or not we know enough today about avoiding it, taking care of ourselves in terms of cleanliness, not to catch it. What can you tell us . Well, we know that this is spreading in our communities and i think theres going to come a time when many of the coughs and colds we see in the community are going to be caused by the coronavirus. So its really important that people wash their hands very well, touch their face much less than they usually do and try and avoid sick people as best they can, maybe turn your face if you see someone coughing or sneezing and if you are someone thats older, if youve got any medical conditions, you may want to start thinking about avoiding Public Transit or going to Mass Gatherings or places where theres a lot of people and if youre a worker and youve got a lot of people sick in your community, you may think about telecommuting. There are things to think about now. Its a lot of common sense used during the flu season needs to be accelerated and augmented to help us get through this. Maria we want to zero in on the phone. We all have our phones. Tell us about the germs on your phone and how we can keep these phones clean. Theres lots of germs maria you put your phone everywhere, you put it down and you talk on it and its right there on your face. Right. There have been many studies that have shown all kind of bacteria and viruses that live on phones. They live on all kinds of surfaces. People go to the bathroom with their phone and text while in the bathroom. Youre going to find lots of different bacteria and viruses there. You need to use a lot of common sense. Most of the people are not going to get infected by their phone. How much transmission occurs because of the phone, people think its gross and it is a little bit gross but its not necessarily the main way that this virus is transmitting. There are wipes you can buy for your phone and whatever your risk aversion is to your phone, you can use that frequency. Theres not some standard number of times you should wipe your phone down. Nobody has studied that. Nobody knows how much transmission is from phones. I dont wash my phone that much. Im probably not the best example to use here. Its a risk but not a very big one. Dagen i want to point out because people say, well, the flu in the United States kills more people than this virus has. But the World Health Organization has gawp dated its numbers updated its numbers and the global death rate of the coronavirus is 3. 4 . And for the flu, it is 0. 1 . So it is a great deal more deadly if you get it. I would just caveat the numbers with one thing. We have had a major glut in testing. The 3. 4 number, if you look at the denominator, we dont have a good picture of the mild cases that are beingthat are in communities that are not being tested, that arent qualifying for testing cdc criteria doesnt allow for mild testing to be done. Were seeing a severeity bias skewed sample. The number will go down as we get better testing. Its skewed by countries that have higher than normal death rates, like Hubei Province in china and in iran. Theres a lot of uncertainty about the 3. 4 and i expect it will go down, maybe not quite all the way down to seasonal flu but at least down to below 1 . Maria im glad you mentioned the test issues. I reported that a week ago that the cdc sent out these kits to 50 states, 50 states and then they said dont do the testing because theyre defective. Ive been told were going to hear tens of thousands of new cases in the u. S. We need to brace ourselves. But we shouldnt be concerned . No, we definitely should be concerned. We need to be alert. This is going to be rough for this country. Each individual person is likely to recover. But its going to be a huge surge of patients for hospitals. Maria good to see you, sir. Thank you very much. At least two People Killed as deadly tornadoes ripped through nashville. Grady tremble is there. Reporter now that the sun has come up, you can see how bad the damage is in the East Nashville neighborhood. That roof flew off a building about a block andahalf from here and landed on this house. The house appears to be completely gutted. I talked to a lot of people who live in the neighborhood and amazingly nobody was seriously hurt or killed but sadly two of the people who passed away were not far from this area. They were walking home from a bar that they worked at when they were hit by debris and i want to draw your attention to this car here. Appears that part of a utility pole lodged into the door here. So this is just some of the damage were dealing with. There are tens of thousands of Power Outages still this morning, power lines down, as crews try to clean up this mess and the neighborhood also trying to clean up from this mess. Listen. To see it like this, you never think youre going to have to. No. Thats a hell of a neighborhood, though. So were going to be fine. Were going to be good. Neighbors are great. Its a hell of a place to live. We work hard. We party hard. Were all going to take care of each other, so reporter i want to show you images from Putnam County, one of the hardest hit areas, its about 70 miles from where we are in nashville. Thats where the majority of deaths were reported. Its also where search and rescue crews worked through the night, trying to find survivors amongst the debris there and that will continue today as there are still about 38 people missing at this hour. There are patrols that have been ramped up in this area, curfews are in place because theyre worried about looters, something that police are worried about. Biden takes nine states including texas last night. But it was vermont senator Bernie Sanders notching the days biggest prize, california. The candidate spoke out last night. Watch. Its a good night, its a good night. They dont call it super tuesday for nothing. Just a few days ago, the press had declared the campaign dead. Im here to report we are very much alive [ cheering and applause ] when we began this race for the presidency, everybody said it couldnt be done. But tonight i tell you with absolute confidence, we are going to win the democratic nomination. [ cheering and applause ] and we are going to defeat the most dangerous president in the history of this country. [ cheering and applause ] no matter how many delegates we win tonight, we have done something no one else thought was possible. In just three months, weve gone from 1 of the polls to being a contender for the democratic nomination for president. [ cheering and applause ] my name is Elizabeth Warren and im the woman who is going to beat donald trump. [ cheering and applause ] im in this race because i believe i will make the best president of the United States. [ cheering and applause ] you dont get what you dont fight for. I am in this fight. [ cheering and applause ] there are four candidates remaining in the race, like hello . Hi. Were still here, guys. Were still here. Maria joining me right now is georgia congressman, doug collins. Congressman, always a pleasure to see you. Thanks so much for being here. Good morning, maria. Maria first want to get your reaction to last night, super tuesday. Biden looks like the candidate now. He definitely had a comeback last night. The establishment democrats, everybody all of a sudden said oh, my goodness, we have a problem, we have a nondemocrat who might win the democratic nomination, hes a socialist, his policies are so out of touch with most people they had to come together. When you saw the lineup with klobuchar, beto, buttigieg, coming into line, you know there was a problem. Theyre sounding the siren. Bernie had a good night. Its amazing that man keeps going back to the democrats who keep finding ways to try to derail his campaign. Maria let me switch gears, ask about the fisa meeting in front of your committee. President trump is telling top house and Senate Republicans that he will not support a clean extension of the federal surveillance powers and call for them to work out a deal with democrats to move forward on changes to fisa. You and your colleagues are already talking about a potential 30 day extension, congressman. Where do we stand on the fisa changes . I agree with the president. This is our opportunity to take not only the issues of extension with provisions like lone wolf, roving wiretap, things that we can get behind, also time to look at title one of fisa and thats the courts itself and go at the heart of why they attacked and how they used the courts to attack donald trump as a candidate, attack and continue when he was president , folks like carter page. When we understand this is our time to actually do that, why dont we use it. Why dont we make the changes in fisa now. Thats the part that the democrats are having trouble finding a way to do this. If they say theres a problem with fisa, theyve got to admit everything theyve been investigating in the last three years against the president and others has been based on a faulty premise on folks who used the fisa court for their own political advantage. Maria you mentioned the corrupt ca kabal of people who t to the fisa court to use a wiretap to spy on carter page during the president s campaign and after the president was already put in place as president and yet they spied on his campaign for over a year and we know that the doj said at least two of those wiretaps were unlawful. Why wont they just admit it and make the i think chas that are necessary to so this doesnt happen to somebody else . I think from the democratic state, they continue to basically lie to themselves and say well, no, it was really actually good, the president did something wrong, theres no way donald trump could have become president. They fail to realize that Hillary Clinton was a terrible candidate and didnt do anything. I think the interesting thing we have to focus on here is in my committee to show you how much they want to avoid this, the ahorowitz report came out and weve not had mr. Horowitz explain the problems you outlined and the other issues here. The investigation goes back to the russia version comes to this russia investigation, i think theres real problems in anything that came out that. Why would we not take the time to look at fisa and if we can come to an agreement, if we can find something the democrats are willing to move forward on, get the senate moving on something instead of just saying we need to reauthorize it in total, i think we stand with the president in this and stand with any president who in the future, as President Trump has said, this should not happen to anybody. We have to make our changes now. Maria before we leave this subject, want to move on to Hillary Clinton but what does the process look like, where do we stand in terms of this hearing, what happens this week . Theres no hearings right now. I think its being taken into effectour leader, Kevin Mccarthy and majority leader hoyer and pelosi, were putting our ideas together. Weve been doing this in the house, in the minority for the last several months, the last years thinking about how we can make these changes. I encourage the senate to do the same. I think well get something as we move forward. Maria on the federal judge ordering Hillary Clinton to give a deposition, this is the first time regarding her use of private email server to conduct government business. What do you expect here . Isnt it incredible that this is the first time were actually seeing a federal judge react like this . Weve been talking about this for five years. Well, i think theres two things we can talk about here. Number one is accountability. Thank goodness theres going to be accountability with Hillary Clinton. It shows weve got to break through the two tier justice system, that she cant do whatever she wants to do, say it doesnt matter. Finally a judge it looking at it and saying theres nor questions theres nor questions here, we have to have answers. I look forward to finding out more. I think well find out there is more clas classified information the email server. Now well have a chance to find out. Maria could there be purchase jury here. She said she didnt we still dont have the 30,000 emails that never showed up. Well, lets get her into the actual process of having to answer questions in a deposition under oath and then compare those to other answers that shes given under oath. Thats when you get into the question of perjury. She can say anything she wants as long as shes not under oath. When she gets under oath it gets real. Maria on coronavirus, the fears are spreading, nine people dead in the United States, all of them in washington state, 100 people in at least 1 15 15 u. S. States dealing with the highly contagious disease. Two people in your home state have tested positive for coronavirus. What do you want to see here . What i want to see is tinted response. I want to get our congress moving, lets work on the package of aid that the president s requested, however much we can get out here now. The president has done the right thing in affording the Vice President to oversee it. I think the Public Health officials are amazing. The main thing is people not to panic, use precautions. If youre sick, go to the doctor, get checked out. Hand washing is still the best thing out there, what mom used to tell you, wash your hands, keep away from sick folks, thats what you can do right now. Maria weve been doing it here for 20 seconds at least under the sink, soap and water, singing songs, washing my hands as long as i can. Congressman, good to see you, take. Com maria welcome back. Vanessa bryant, kobe bryants widow said she is absolutely devastated by allegations that sheriffs officials took and shared photos of the Helicopter Crash scene where kobe and others died. Bryant is suing the helicopter company, charging the pilot was flying too fast in unsafe conditions. Joining us right now is senior judicial analyst judge andrew napolitano. Testimony us about this lawsuit. At the beginning, it has an unhappy ending which is that those photos under the consistent temporary ray understanding of the First Amendment can be published and can be shown. Im sure that the cops or ems or First Responders, whoever they were, they havent been identified yet, violated some internal regulation about not sharing evidence. But every time the Supreme Court has looked at this including a very famous case here in new york, called time against hill, it has found that the publics right to know even if catastrophic events supersedes the victims right to policy. As for the lawsuit, the more we learn about the pilot, the more we learn he should not have been flying that helicopter on that day in those conditions. And im sure it will be settled. This is one of those cases where theres insurance and then theres reinsurance on the part of the owners of the helicopter. I dont think its ever going to get to a jury. Judge, are you telling me that in one of these First Responders were to sell these photographs off of his phone for a million dollars, change the trajectory. To Time Magazine. Thats okay . I know this maria thats terrible. He might lose his job. It is terrible and gutwrenching. The Supreme Court was very clear that the publics right to know, its lurid that the public may want to know what the bodies look like at a death scene is a higher right under the First Amendment than the right to privacy is. The case involved a very famous Home Invasion which became a very famous movingmovie and the case is called time against hill. The hill family sued Time Magazine for showing know toes of the invasion. Who was the lawyer, a Young Richard nixon. The Supreme Court rule ruled against him. Maria let me ask about this, a connect cuts judge ordering the murder case again dulos to be died. He died in january after attempting suicide. The defense team is not happy with the decision. They wanted to clear the name at trial all together. Dulos was charged with murder and kidnapping in the disappearance of his wife last may. Its unheard of that the estate of the defendant wants the prosecution to proceed. You can only prosecute somebody who you can punish. You cant prosecute the dead. They want the prosecution to go forward because they think they can clear his name. So what damage did the estate suffer as a result of an indictment of the decedent . None. Theres no case. Murder trial will go on because there are two other codefendants involved. But you cant prosecute a dead person. Is this about money for the lawyers or . Thats a great question. I cant figure out what their motivation is, why they would want to drag the estate through this. The estate consists of a lot of real estate. I dont think the value of the high end real estate in connecticut, i dont think the value of the real estate went down because the developer of it was accused of murder. Maria fascinating stuff. Ibm and microsoft joining forces with the vatican, calling for ai regulation. Ibm executive Vice President john kelly traveling to the vatican, signing off on the holy sees call for ai ethics. The document states the development of ai in the service of human kind and the planet must be reflected in regulations and principles that protect people. It geese on to say ai based Technology Must never be used to exploit people in any way especially those who are most vulnerable. Joining us now is ibm executive Vice President john kelly. John, great to see you this morning. Thanks for being here. Thank you. Maria this evolution of technology called Artificial Intelligence brings with it all these questions about ethics and this debate about a set of principles that needs to be used with a. Thats right this is a historic event for the Catholic Church and its 2,000 year history to be reaching out and working with a tech company, thats 100 years old, but to come together around technology so early in its development, i think is historic. Maria the ethics are needed because ai is so powerful that it will put lots of jobs it will send jobs away, Technology Replacing people. The pope was very concerned about the implications of Artificial Intelligence on people, on jobs, on the ethical bbehavior, because whether its jobs or facial recognition, there could be a good application, also a bad application. He chartered his think tank to work with industry, with ibm. To really think about this and come out with a set of guidelines and principles that we all should abide by, things like having it available everywhere, things like having it transparent and of course its mimicking Human Behavior which makes it a sensitive behavior. Guidelines, not rules. Elon musk is calling for government laws and regulation to try to to hamper what might be bad, the bad applications, what do you think of that. This document which i brought is an actual signed document. Maria you brought that from rome. I brought this from rome. This is an original of the rome call for ethics. And this document does call for a set of guidelines but it also calls for proper legislation and regulation and in fact we at ibm have been calling for this as well. There will be inappropriate uses of Artificial Intelligence, things like facial recognition and we believe that governments absolutely have to regulate that but with true precision regulation, very guided regulation. Maria lets go through some of the principle, transparency, inclusion, responsibility, impaciality, security and privacy is all this going to be able to get accomplished . Yes. We believe so. Clearly, things like transparency, so one of the big concerns with Artificial Intelligence is will it develop a bias and will it start to treat one group of people different than another . And so we, for instance, have already put this into action with a set of software that can measure bias developing in our watson systems and selfcorrect or tell the human, harks im hem developing a set of biases. Trans parent circumstance weve come out and said if were using Artificial Intelligence in products or services, we will tell you. Disclosure. Maria you need this stuff because ai has implicit bias. One quick example that i talked about in my special that i did, one hour special on ai, lets say i want to know what to wear to work on wall street and i want the ai to tell me what is appropriate for what to wear on wall street. Ai is going to look at what has been done on wall street and unfortunately its largely men for so many years. So thats right there implicit bias and what the technology is going to tell me. Maria, a lot of people are look at this and saying well, the machines are good or bad. The point i made in rome at the vatican was its not about the machines. Theyre not good or bad. The machines learn from our data and they learn from our teaching. So theyre a reflection of us. Its like looking in the mirror. Maria thank you so much for being here. John kelly. Ibm. Well be right back. whistling whistling can be a sign your feeling digestive systemhed down isnt working at its best. Taking metamucil every day can help. Maria joining me right now california congressman House Minority leader Kevin Mccarthy a pleasure thanks for being here. Thanks for having me back. Reaction to last night super tuesday . Welcome, the candidate who promised Free Health Care to illegals to ban fracking had a big night not Bernie Sanders that is joe biden. So the policies are pretty similar, but joe biden had a big night. Policies pretty similar yet the media, and sort of the democratic establishment looks at joe biden as moderate in the group when you dig deeper in policies not so moderate. They are not. Even in house the democrats control, the socialist wing controls it remember maria, more than half of all the members of congress in the democratic side not only support but cosponsor medica medicare for all joe biden raised his hand when they said do you want to give Health Care Free to illegals he raised hand like everybodying else he a report from a wall street firm going through joe bidens policies, and they do include, taxes, across the board, in terms of lifting corporate rate something you were very involved in terms of tax legislation that moved needle on Economic Growth says he is going to reverse that. Yeah, when we were able to unshackle what is holding us back lowering regulation, letting people keep more what they what did we have runup on economy strongest economy we have ever had last 50 years are first thing he said a clip out there i am going to raise your taxes that is what joe biden says that is what promised that is what he will do. Says increase taxes on wealthy file rz corporations to finish infrastructure Education Clean Energy carbon taxes will Impact Energy sector as well has Aggressive Pro labor agenda, includes increasing minimum wage as well, by the way. Yeah, every country that wants to keet against us going to be rooting for the biden because slow america down, going back to higher unemployment going back to the challenges of wondering if next generation will be better off than we are today. I mean, remember you have 61 americans better off today than they were three years ago i dont think they wanting to backwards, i truly believe the president has a better chance of beating joe biden than competition with Bernie Sanders. Maria the races are going to be consistent until up until november what do you need to do to take back the house, and to ensure President Trump beats joe biden or Bernie Sanders feels like twoman race now. I think the president is going to win either way with joe biden there is no have to enthusiasm for him that gives him real problems in the house we only need 18 seats 30 democrats in seats President Trump carried he growing further youve got an ability to win house back bloomberg expedient billion dollars only big in American Samoa will probably get out Elizabeth Warren gets out of the race going to help bernie the challenge here can we compete, we beat them on ideas, financially we need to get there the best way to go is taking the house, you are want to see this flip . Otherwise continued investigations of President Trump going into next term. Feels like this Coronavirus Crisis is among the newest latest tests for President Trumps leadership spreading nine people dead in the United States all in washington state. Congressman at least 43 cases confirmed, in your home state. And i know that the cdc had a real blunder i was first to report, the fact cdc sent out tests kits to 50 states called states a kid wait dont test anybody tests defective we are getting tests done in United States i have been told to and eventually hundreds of thousands of cases in u. S. John capo hopkins came out with a report america is best prepared to deal with this remember what we have been doing for the the last five years we have increased funding almost 40 , the National Institute of health nih cdc almost 40 republicans did when in majority created infectious zz Rapid ResponseNational Stockpile we are best prepared out of the every nation the challenge we have china was not forthcoming when this happened in november they hid from it wouldnt let american scientists doctors researchers in we have the very best medicine here i am i would like what the president has done stopping flights early accommodation to china this week bringing the private sector in so good at this, helping find a vaccine so everybody is working together, toured nih yesterday making sure putting the emphasis, i thank will see him at cdc as well we got Vice President coming in to speak to us, today, with his team. I know we will be meeting as the house both sides about latest effects of this, now weve got to be prepared for this but the real challenge is we made some very smart movers early, but weve got to be able to deal with it will now. Impact the economy quick you expecting things to slow down considerably kaustsdz . I dont think considerably but you are going to see slowdown on supply chain that should go to something, that we should look differently on, why is our supply chain have to depend so much on china. Right. Especially when it comes to so many essentials we need the president has been bringing up long before, so just as we prepared for the stock 350i8 Infectious Disease looking at redirecting supply chain back here into america. Eliquis is proven to treat and help prevent another dvt or pe blood clot. Almost 98 of patients on eliquis didnt experience another. And eliquis has significantly less major bleeding than the standard treatment. Eliquis is fdaapproved and has both. Dont stop eliquis unless your doctor tells you to. Eliquis can cause serious and in rare cases fatal bleeding. Dont take eliquis if you have an artificial heart valve or abnormal bleeding. If you had a spinal injection while on eliquis call your doctor right away if you have tingling numbness or muscle weakness. While taking eliquis, you may bruise more easily. And it may take longer than usual for bleeding to stop. Seek immediate medical care for sudden signs of bleeding like unusual bruising. Eliquis may increase your bleeding risk if you take certain medicines. Tell your doctor about all planed medical or dental procedures. Whats around the corner could be your moment. You are right biden had good night bern is going to have a good morning he won california i have a whiteboard last night smaller somebody left it out lots of cake there, so this is a what i call poor mans delegate counter not going to be exactly right taking days to figure this all out roughly biden had 457 sanders roughly 324 maybe overstated a little bit, because some will go off weird places to some other candidates after california biden 632 sanders 564 means biden had lead 130 plus delegates, before california 68 after a close race 1909 required fors nomination gap of 68 not big gap. You are happy about biden showing what about this that california sort of ill a big fan we respectfully disagreed probably last decades. I think a huge night for joe when we walked in yesterday, people were talking north of 200, a week ago talking about north of 400 that is bernie being up in delegates by 200, 400 that is chalk board said it all biden now up difficult to play catchup you have this actually now goes into joes strength florida georgia mississippi going to dominate there, and then going to hold his own if not win many, many Industrial America so i actually think, you know i made bold statements i think over i think will be nominee i think you are going to see huge momentum for him i think actually, the silent majority is speaking up 65 of our party more moderate progressives than populist progressives. What about policy last night i kept he hearing joe biden say i am guy to take donald trump down that is all weve got candidates just the goal to take down President Trump. But they havent shared policies with us at all what are they really going to do o do for american people. Once again i respectfully disagree i think some most important things with respect to our Party Country health care is a right Climate Change gun reform Immigration Reform criminal justice president talking about today all things that matter to never even the this country i also think we havent had the mona a mona situation we have in primary they have to beat competitors. We heard joe biden say taking backyard, right, schoolyard. I agree with robert weve got plenty of time to go until general election one thing bernie in a way won this primary becausedrawn entire field to his left. Of we have the socalled tradition traditional Democrat Joe Biden traditional the liberal said i agree with goals of Green New Deal i am in favor immediately banning drilling in federal waters federal lands texas goodbye houstons economy depends upon that on health care repayer obama care but public option to basically undermine the private Insurance Market bring about collapse lots of things biden said that are trying to mimic what bernie said only two steps to the right. The thing robert people call joe biden a moderate but ideas are not so moderate, about medicare for all giving illegals drivers licenses. Giving illegals Free Health Care onstage raised his hand. That is true not so moderate. I would say this progressive moderates and progressive pop helifts in democratically party joe is moderate because Democratic Party has gone all the way to the i think both parties shifted Republican Party shifted more right democrats shifted more left i am more a centrist. I know you are President Trump keeps talking about in terms of of policies he did well last night as well, by the way, President Trump of this near the primary take a look at past prices are incumbent president s seeking reelection President Trump receives more votes in massachusetts than former president obama in 2012, 1. 7 million votes in texas more than president obama grabbed in have 2012 and president george w. Bush nabbed in 2004 combined you have been referred to architect of bushs 2004 campaign karl what does that mean for in all candor its is much large state than it was we have a lot more registered voters but you are right, there is something going on in early vote i havent seen final numbers on election day, but in early vote, the republicans out voted democrats no contested statewide primary not like when obama in obama primary like a million two, the republicans didnt have a serious primary like 600,000 but in this election the republicans out voted democrats we have no statewide primary to speak of we had you know u. S. Senate candidate the incumbent. Maria what do you think about that. I think carl and i i am 2u8 and 0 against carl and obama only president i can recall north 506 popular vote dominated electoral we want to make comparisons but we have to look perspective very different President Trump doing rallies in social media, President Trump obama really didnt care about how many votes he had when he was incumbent. Okay, in p primary season. That is not something anyone is taking about, the question is do we get out the vote for the president ial campaign and the answer is yes. We had more voters yesterday than we had in 08 i know getting the vote i dont want to talk determiners two of last three governorships we feel pretty good i will tell you to carls point a long primary season joe has to beat bernie figure out how to get bernie to support him that is going to be ebb. That will be reading this needle. Weakness if two strategies striebl biden beat bernie or conciliate bernie if he runs aimed at conciliateing i am not certain he necessarily wins distinctions matter one thing helped enormously people said you know what he is making the argument we are going down because bernie has extreme views, he has to keep that up. That is makes it hard to conciliate but the right strategy. Thank you great conversation so appreciate it karl rove robert wolf, Stuart Varney preparing top of the hour what is on deck. Big show coming up as usual, i am going to look at impact of joes win and bernies loss on the market. I think this is a bernie losing market rally. I am going to look at impact of what i call separating out people having less contact with each other less travel less foot traffic in malls that kind of thing the demand side of the argument, how much is demand going to be down because we are separating out. Ive got a report that Jpmorgan Chase is telling thousands workers stay home one day as they practice have contingency plans for the full cutback of virus a little unsettling might mean we are really going to separate out a lot in the future politics, the market rally, the virus that is what is on tap. Maria all what we need see you 15 minutes thank you so much, first wall street wild ride markets staimthdz a big rebound after Federal Reserve emergency rate cut we check out markets when we come back future of finances has Many Americans running from gym Membership Technology may be more effective keeping your health on track next. Materials made from recycled plastic woven and molded into all the things we consume. We created bionic and put the word out with godaddy. What will you change . Make the world you want. Welcome back we are watching your wallet on mornings with maria a rise in at homeworkouts has more people running from the gym turning to technology for motivation, a reveals people stick with not for profits programs longer than traditional gym memberships is this future of fitness we asked what you prefer 71 said rather work out at home is download worth the dimon ask dr. Mik, great to see you. Thank you so much for being hearing walk us through some of the most particular fitness apps start with peloton spin bike. This is one actually i have at home. I have it too. So i am glad we are on sage page with that it does have Group Classes, that happen live and on demand we see numbers 90 live classes a week organized Training Programs easy delivery set up come set up bike for you not cheap it is quite price ofy clocks in almost 2500 dollars with 40 dollar a month fee for the classes, now what i like about peloton app Group Classes motives you you have friends doing class you see statistics on side, you can compete with one another gamefys working out makes people stick with it longer we mentioned top people stick with these exercisers longer than traditional gym memberships here is what is unique yes, they stick with them financial standpoint dont cancel memberships dont have evidence they continue working out using apps i have plenty patients have peloton bike dont use it as often. I have, use peloton, tell us about mirror that hangs on your wall morphs into personal trainer i love the way this looks. Space limited spaces really useful hangs on wall turns completely into a mirror when off the first of its kind when it turns on you can you can have a class that is also on demand or live, then you could opt for personal training options, great for those people need a little bit more guidance, because you know if you are doing a regular class doing some being mistakes wrong no one correcting form you can get into trouble i see patients all the time that are injured, just simply because form is incorrect again with mirror 50 on demand classes certified personal trainers you get realtime fitness results to know what you are doing how well it is working for you is mirror listening to me in my bedroom when not exercising. That is a scary question but does have a lens cap you can cover it make sure no one watching. This separates itself a little bit cheaper a ton of classes, 15 dollars a month here is where you get big bang for money it has nutrition absent finances plans together you know not only what you should do in the gym ak at home but what you should be eating as we know if you want to get any fitness results a huge portion of that comes from what you do in kitchen, great saying, in kitchen not gym. You cant exercise away bad eating say that right away. Most people underestimate like if you have a snickers bar 300 smog calories a lot of running to get that 300 calories off body most are not exercising enough to burn off sweets junk we eat. Good point, this is great helpful thank you so much dr. Mik mick varshavski, futures a big rebound rally investors are focused on market volatility dow industrials up 620 points. Well be right back. Yes maria welcome back. About half an hour away from the opening bell, futures staging a big rebound. The Dow Jones Industrial average up 625 points, nasdaq up 171, the s p futures up 62. Is this what do you think . Yesterday a sharp selloff on the feds plans to cut rates by half a point and now a complete rebound today. Actually, if you go back immediately when the fed cut, the markets spiked 500 points before it then pulled back to 1200 points down, rallied 500 points off of that, down 700 and now were back to where we were yesterday morning. What i have been advising, im not a day trader, but this is a market that is giving you opportunities to buy stocks that are down 20 off their highs and probably ought to take advantage of that when theyre down. When they hit new highs like this morning, i would rather trim. Maria we are not out of the woods yet in terms of coronavirus and in terms of supply chain issues, demand issues. Right. Its been called a blind spot because literally, companies are calling off their investment and hiring plans like boom, today were not doing anything until we have at least some insight into what the future looks like. I can tie the market to what happened yesterday, super tuesday. Bernie sanders poor showing, you have Health Care Stocks, particularly health insurers, skyrocketing today. United health group is going to add 170 points to the dow. So 170 of that 615 us just united health. Maria really good point. I wonder how much the rally is about former Vice President joe biden. He won big yesterday, now in the drivers seat for the democratic nominee after taking nine super tuesday states including texas. It was vermont senator Bernie Sanders, though, notching the days biggest prize, california. Charlie kirkwood. There are a lot of lessons here. Two weeks ago if you had said joe biden would have a big super tuesday, i dont think i think we are all pretty stunned by that. For being a trump supporter myself, i love the matchup. I think bernie presents different challenges than joe biden but a lot of people are just reluctantly getting behind joe biden. Hes the safest pick, i suppose. All the endorsements came in recent days and its the safe pick. Theres no fervor. Where people behind trump, they love him. People behind sanders, they love him. I dont know that anybody, its a flight to safety, they dont love biden. Maria until the general election when its actually biden trump. Turnout matters, enthusiasm matters. Trumps base i think has grown since 2016. Fervency matters. I dont see people that will be super fired up to vote for joe biden, especially in the collection of states that will really matter. Maria know what robert wolf just said during the commercial break . I asked him who would be joe bidens running mate. He said i bet you Elizabeth Warren would like to be joe bidens running mate and maybe that would play. Elizabeth warren joe biden . What do you think of that ticket . The progressive and the mainstream. I think he might look for someone that can help solidify maybe someone like stacy abrams that comes from states he needs to continue to help win, that could help reach out to the black or latino community. Or pete buttigieg. I want to say, the polls were so wrong on this and so were the betting markets, predicted the betting market as of february 22nd, the day of the nevada caucuses, had a 13 chance joe biden would win texas and virginia. Everybody got this wrong. Dead wrong. Maria yeah. For sure. Meanwhile, we have big numbers coming up friday for our special coverage of the february jobs report. Dont forget to join us at 8 00 a. M. Eastern on friday. Thank you so much. Great conversation. Charlie, dagen, cody, see you soon. Thank you. Right to Varney Company we go. Stuart, take it away. Have a great day. Stuart i shall. Good morning to you, maria. Good morning, everyone. Lets get right at it. Wild times on wall street. Today, at least at the opening bell, stocks are going up. Massive rally monday, massive selloff tuesday, back up again this wednesday morning. The dow is looking for a near 600 point gain, 58 up on the s p, 160 up on the nasdaq. That would be a rally. Todays rally really started when news came that Bernie Sanders had not done well in the super tuesday primaries. Health care stocks are going up this morning because bernies ruinous medicare for all nonsense looks to be dead in the water. Hold on. We will get more on the primaries in just a moment. I also have to deal with the astonishing drop in treasury
