North carolina. For Bernie Sanders, vermont. And right now were looking at alabama with polls are just closing, and that looks like it will be for joe biden. So three of the first four contests that we can comfortably report tonight go to joe biden who little more than, what, 72 hours ago was given up for politically dead. That was then, this is now. Whatever he was able to cobble together even in states that had early voting that came before his stunning performance in South Carolina, well, one of that materialized to be a big worry for him. Were going to be digesting all these numbers besides alabama, just closing right now, the states of maine, massachusetts and oklahoma have also closed. Tennessee, which was to close at this hour because of the hurricane, a lot of folks having difficulty getting to the polls right now, they will, in fact, be allowed to continue looking for places to vote until at least 9 p. M. Eastern time, in some parts of the state up to 11 p. M. Were going to be digesting all of this and the battle on this very big night with lou dobbs. Weve got former tennessee congressman harold ford jr. , trish regan and maria bart romo. A lot at stake here. BErnie Sanderses had a lot of momentum, and then you have candidates quitting the race and making things as accommodative as they could for joe biden. It seems to have worked. We were expecting a pretty good showing here, but youre still not hearing any policy proposals from joe biden or anybody on that stage in terms of the economy. Lets be serious here and look at the obvious elephant in the room. Things have changed materially for the Economic Outlook because of coronavirus. Today we had a half a point cut in the Federal Reserve funds rate. That was not expected. A surprise move neil and it did nothing. Maria still went down 800 points. So lower Interest Rates cannot cure coronavirus. This right now is going to be the president s biggest test so far. His leadership is going to be what dictates what happens in november, and so far youre not hearing any policy proposals, any acknowledgment in terms of the coronavirus and what is gonna happen in terms of the economy. Youre going to see shortages, ask if we already are, in parts and components. Thats going to Mean Companies cannot sell their products because they cant make their products, its all made in china. And as a result, zero Earnings Growth for the rest of the year. Thats a big issue. Neil flip it around for the Democratic Candidates vying for the nomination, they might like a scenario where the economy sort of freezes up, harold. I would agree with everything that maria said about the challenge the economy will face neil a lot of them, its about the only chance they have. Well, ill take it back for one moment. BErnie Sanders nomination makes it a lot harder on democrats. I think when you pit socialism v. Capitalism, which both of these hosts have done over the months, and i would agree with them. The emergence of joe biden changes the conversation in many ways, and obviously, an ascendancy like the coronavirus which no one wishes the kind of challenges neil but its changed the game k hasnt it . It has. And i think the president up to this point, this is not the subject of this conversation, but theres some questions about how well hes managing this and leading through this. I heard a conversation on early with liz claman, a guest she had explaining how his son flew back into jfk, and there was no testing, no directions given to him about how he should conduct himself, and he had spent time in florence. And now we know whats happening in italy. I do think these questions around leadership will be very important. And if youre a democrat tonight and you want to see Bernie Sanders have a tough time, youre having a good night. Whether youre for Mike Bloomberg or joe biden. Neil and and we can get into, trish, the whole coronavirus and how it affects the race going forward. Are you surprised to the degree to which the party sort of rally ared around joe biden . Trish sure. No, but they have to, right . Getting back to what youre saying, harold, if its a question of capitalism versus socialism, thats a really tough thats a tough race for them. Youre typing to have a lot of people going to have a lot of people that are not going to be able to vote for a socialist. Theyll be completely demoralized, and thats a scenario where quite easily, i think, donald trump takes it. Now youre in a situation where if biden is the guy, hes going to appeal to a lot of middle of the road candidates. And, you know, thats going to be a much harder proposition for donald trump. Nonetheless, it is going to come back to the economy. I dont think you can blame him for a virus that came from china. I think the handling has has ben pretty decent thus far. Theres a lot of hysteria. Where i live you cant buy hand sanitizer. Neil the elbow bump. Trish pasta anded goods neil whoa, whoa, whoa, pasta . [laughter] the other thing i wanted to look at with Michael Bloomberg, he has spent half a billion to threequarters of a billion dollars, and so far in some of these early states not faring well. What happens to him . Lou well, i think what happens to him is something that hes sort of projected here in the last 24 hours in which he said that he disagrees with some of the president s policies but not all. And in point of fact, his principal problem with the president is the way in which he has carried out his policies which makes it style points. And if you spend threequarters of a billion dollars to contest a style point by a leader . I think thats sort of where the Democratic Party is. They have nothing to say here. The economy is right now booming, the markets have lost again today something approaching 900 billion, but were still up 35 billion, 401 k s are still remarkably higher than they were when the president was elected. The economy is still growing. And, in fact, he is the guy who in 2017 was doing evaluations of supply chains in east in Southeast Asia and china because he was aware of the dependency of corporate america, and indeed, the United States from a National Security point. This president has been ahead of the curve across the board. Youre not going to hear a lot of people saying over the next several months, oh, my gosh, we shouldnt have tariffs, we shouldnt have balanced trade with china. In fact, theyre going to be delighted that we have domestic capability and capacity because were going to be for a very considerable period of time in my judgment unable to avail ourselves of labor arbitrage in china and Cheaper Products from china. Neil all right, lou. I want to go right now, Bernie Sanders was supposed to be the man of the evening before. Just think about, joe bidens win in South Carolina was a very, very comfortable win. It was Bernie Sanders who was slated to do very well, and he might still. Remember, only 4 states out of the 14 primaries, better than 1350 delegates. But there had been a consensus building around Bernie Sanders capturing 700 of those delegates tonight. That still might materialize, but it depends on how other candidates fracture out here. I say fracture because you need 15 to get any delegates at all. And for some candidates given the stillcrowded field, it is crowded in a lot of these states, they might be dividing a limited sum. Edward lawrence in vermont, Bernie Sanders headquarters. He drove himself to the polls, right . Reporter exactly. He sure did. Trying the get that energy and excitement, thats a what he told his sporters at the poll. I can tell you this crowd of about 3,000 in this Exposition Center erupted when vermont went to senator Bernie Sanders. Theyre very excited about that, obviously, his own state. When we saw alabama and virginia and North Carolina go for biden, there were boos in the crowd here. Now, the campaign knew that it would be tough with minority voters shading towards former Vice President joe biden, but this virginia the campaign really thought they could do something. Senator sanders spent a lot of time in richmond and Virginia Beach to try and turn that around. A little disappointing for them here. However, theyre saying the night is still young. Theyre waiting for texas and california, hoping that Bernie Sanders does well in both of those states there. Now again, the early voting, obviously, were seeing it go to joe biden but, again, the mood here waiting on those big numbers, the big states to come in. They believe theyre going to do well in the back half of this night. Neil . Neil all right. Thank you, Edward Lawrence. Maria, if you think about it, the third and fourth delegate prizes tonight, North Carolina and virginia. You know, 110 delegates and 99 tell gates respectively. Joe biden won both states handily. Maria yeah. Having a good night, for sure. And what you said e earlier in terms of the democrats and the overall partys having a good night because Bernie Sanders is being outshined by biden. But its a long race, and i dont know if this is actually going to tell us anything about the National Come november. Neil i think, you know, trish, when you look at the numbers too, especially if theyre divided this way, a lot of people are saying, what will bloomberg do if he doesnt catch any of the minimum, 15 . He could go delegateless. Trish he should get out. I think if he doesnt have ad good showing tonight, the handwriting withs on the wall, so to speak. The guy hasp spent an absolute has spent an absolutely fortune. Every time i go on my phone and i click on something, foxbusiness. Com or politico or any, new york times, Bloomberg Neil times square. Trish hes spent all this money, and its not paying off because it hasnt translated in terms of his personality with the voters or in the debates on stage. So hes got a very tough road ahead of him. And if im the democrats, im saying to myself get him out of there, have him put his money and his might behind a candidate that can win. More maria i also want to add the policy because when with you hear what Michael Bloomberg has said about china, President Trump changed the conversation on china. Peter navarro being a hawk out there was right in terms of the supply shortages that were seeing, the parts shortages and the bad behavior of china. Michael bloomberg was asked a couple of months ago what about china, and he said, oh, hes not a dictator, its fine. Theyre going to do to them what they do to us. Well, actually, you needed to be really tough on china, and the president has actually educated a lot of people in terms of the bad behavior of china. This is where this started, the coronavirus are, this is the upset in the economy which was going incredibly well here. So i think looking at Michael Bloombergs comments. Trish and joe biden has those problems too. Neil joe biden is still the same candidate he was a couple weeks ago. That was why maybe Michael Bloomberg stays in the race because, you know, a few wins does not a very different candidate make. Bloomberg has helped reset the conversation in the race. To the extent were not talking about capitalism and socialism if youre a democrat and worried about winning in the fall, this is a positiveing change were having. I dont disagree that joe biden or Mike Bloomberg, if they become the nominee, theyre going to have to answer very serious and obvious questions about successive neil both men you mentioned biden not socialists. Neil they have doubts about his ability as a campaigner, and you mentioned bloomberg, doubts about his sincerity as a democrat. When President Trump ran, there were questions about whether or not he was a sincere republican, and hes proven to be just that. My only point is democrats had to cross a hurdle. Again, this is early. To ms. Bart eau romos point bartiromos point, were early in the evening. Neil absolutely. The fact that were moving away from debating whether we are defending socialism versus promoting capitalism and perhaps thinking about a way to reconstitute it to insure it works equally for everyone, thats a conversation democrats have a fighting and fair chance during the five or six key battleground states we were not going to win, and were not going to win a socialist message neil let me bring in lou dobbs on that point. Lou, one of the things you do notice now, to harolds point about how theyre trying to rally around or clear the field in this case for joe biden, theyre doing that a lot sooner than republicans did four years ago for donald trump. Very different circumstances, i grant you. But this isnt a sign that they desperately want to win and theyre betting on biden is the best chance to do it, many candidates swallowing their pride and pretty wellfinanced campaigns to make it happen. Lou absolutely. And i think this is a great lesson for republicans. To coalesce this early and do so obviously, and theyve done it within a period of about 72 hours neil yeah. Lou to move toward biden as the partys candidate, its clear even to bloomberg who remained hopeful. Its also clear to sanders who is now furious with the democratic establishment because he feels what is happening to him right now is much the same as he felt four years ago when they conspired and effectively removed his chances altogether from the nomination. Bought by the Democratic Campaign of Hillary Clinton through the dnc. But this time they have moved in an orderly fashion to coalesce behind the candidate, and it is clearly biden. And by the way, biden tonight is delivering. Thats because the establishment is supporting him, i think, in nearly every one of these state races. Neil the big worry with Bernie Sanders has and continues to be this notion that he would be a downticket disaster. I think that was one of the things we got into last week, harold. Do you hear people say the same thing that even if he has a chance, the rest of the downticket candidates for congress, theyre not going to go anywhere in. Maria oh, yeah, and that is the reason that the administration is pumping up the idea that we have got to take the house back, weve got to keep the senate. These down tickets are so important in terms of the president s ability to get anything done or the democrats ability to take back power. So, yeah, i think people are very afraid of the down ticket if Bernie Sanders is in the lead because what happens then . What happens to senate . What happens to the house . And if it does go democrat, well, if you think the economys gone worse now, wait until after the election neil lets look at massachusetts. This is an interesting one because, of course, this is Elizabeth Warrens home state. But the liberal vote seems to be split between them and running up the middle is joe biden in that environment, winning likely winning the state of massachusetts. Were not calling that state at this point, but this is one of those phenomenon we had mentioned earlier, and harold ford jr. Looking at this, it feeds that argument, you know, they stay together. Moderates might welcome that, i guess, because it divides the progressive vote. I think the biggest newspaper in boston endorsed senator warren in the last few days. The last, i think, rally held by senator sanders before the most recent one was in massachusetts. If joe biden, to your point, if he has consolidated this kind of support, can win in massachusetts obviously, a state that has a strong democratic profile but if the home senator and a senator with a state that abuts that, 78 hours ago Whose Campaign was counted out, it just further demonstrates or validates the point. And i would also point out in vermont Bernie Sanders, he had 52 of the vote amongst democrats in his home state. Now, youre in your home state, in your own party, and you only get 52 of the party run figure president , thats a statement as well. Its early. Numbers will still continue neil loudobbs one of the things thats interesting, massachusetts is really a delegate 91 delegates there. Its proportional voting, you know, joe biden gets the most from that state, gets the most from virginia, 99 delegates, gets the most from North Carolina, 110 tell gates, you could make an argument that its biden who comes off the evening the net delegate winner. And im wondering how that changes the whole battleground issue for next week. Lou i think it changes it dramatically. I think youre exactly right because going into the super tuesday dialogue across all of the sunday talk shows, across all of the wags and saw vapts savants over the past two weeks, this was going to be sanders great embarrassment for the democratic establishment and create the great, the great dilemma for democrats which was what to you do with a socialist democrat who has a great affection for communists like fidel castro and president xi . It doesnt look like thats going to be the problem at all. In fact, it looks like biden is the solution that former president obama has selected, the democratic establishment has selected, and theyre carrying out off, it appears right now. Everyone has acknowledged its early, but it looks like theyre about to carry off a consolidation that is going to be very important to the democratic establishment. Its going to be greatly us from the traiting to sanders and his supporters, it appears. But it looks like it is bidens evening at this hour. Neil all right. Thank you, lou, very much. Were going to take a quick break here, pay our bills, see where things go from here. It is interesting, we mentioned next week theres no rest for the weary. You have 352 delegates in states like michigan, missouri, washington state, a lot of others here that are friendly to joe biden whos putting in a good night. Three of the four contests he has won. It is looking like massachusetts might very well be his fourth. And the night is still early. Stay with us. Neil a lot of delegates at stake tonight, 1,357 of them, fully twothirds of what you need to be on the way to getting the democratic nomination. 1,99 91 is the ultimate number there. You need a minimum 15 of the popular are vote, the thinking had been before so many candidates started dropping out that that would be divide among a big bunch, they would have a touch time amazing, and it would amassing, and it would pave the way, actually help Bernie Sanders. That is somewhat in doubt tonight because it does seem like a good many are seeing right now a very big edge going there. Were following that very, very closely. Also Michael Bloombergs campaign. His National Spokesperson is that judge judy . Maria that is. Neil now i know. Earp, very good to have you earp, very good to have you. Good to be here. Neil for your candidate, do we know his strategy tonight . Later on he was expecting to do good in states like california and all of that. He is getting some proportional voting, some 15 showings in some states but not off to the strongest of starts. Are you worried . Well, he is at 15 or above so far, and its just so early already tonight. The one thing i would point out to you, neil, is that winning a state doesnt matter, and people are talking about joe biden winning North Carolina and virginia and others. But you still have to amass delegates. And the neil yeah, but you come off better when you win, right . Winning means more delegates. I dont disagree with that, but this still is a race where were amassing delegates, and it could still be joe biden cant get to majority of delegates that you need. And chas why we have to wait until every vote is counted. And we may not know that for a couple of weeks because it could take that long for the california results to come in. Everybody needs to just hang on tight and watch neil so youre in that camp that, you know, people could have mailed in ballots as late as today, there could be tens of thousands of them for a number of days. If youre at that point where you have to wait that long, you might have bigger issues. But do you think that Michael Bloomberg at this stage and if it looks like, you know, he entered the race as an alternative to Bernie Sanders and the concern about joe biden not looking like he was going anywhere. Now that it looks like joe biden at least is going somewhere, isnt the whole rationale for the bloomberg candidacy e gone . I dont think that it is at all just yet. And here is why. Mike bloomberg, number one goal, he wants to make sure that donald trump is not reelected. But number two, i think its very clear that he knows that Bernie Sanders should not be the democratic nominee to go up against donald trump. And there is no guarantee right now that that will will be the case. We have to wait and see what this delegate math looks like, and thats what i would caution everybody on. We still have to see what happens in california. Its really important to see those results before anybody jumps to any kind of conclusion. Neil i want to spread this out to our panelists. He must be disappointed that even with the support of judge judy, hes not gotten more judge support. Very bad joke on my part. [laughter] maria. Maria that is good. Neil what . Maria look, this is what i have to say, i mean, hearing erin talk about, you know, Michael Bloombergs number one goal is to make sure donald trump is not elected again, im sorry, its not a good look. I mean, what does this mean for the people of america . What does this mean if networks of in terms of changing their lives . You cant have that be your only policy that you just want to take donald trump down. People are smarter than that, and they want to say to themselves, well, wait . Where am i today versus four years ago . Well, im feeling better. Ive got more money in my pocket if, wages are up, income inequality is narrowing. And id like to hear that somebody has more in mind for my life, my familys life than just take out donald trump. I dont think that policy goal takes you to november into the election are and gives you a win. I think you need much more than that to make people believe that youre actually going to have an effect on their lives. Neil the bigger issue seems to be what erin is saying, if we can make sure its not Bernie Sanders, we have a better shot trish sounds like she wants a brokered convention neil thats the only way he can win. Trish not a good look. It shows you how divided they are, it tells you neil it worked for abraham lincoln. I covered that, he did okay. [laughter] trish Michael Bloomberg is not taking votes away from Bernie Sanders, hes taking them away from joe biden. Neil Michael Bloomberg is going to speak to supporters right now. Dont know what this is about but, again, its very, very early in the evening, as weve all been stressing here. And judgety might have said so herself judy might have said to herself, that you cant close the deal. Harold ford jr. , what are we going to hear . I think a combination of what weve heard so far, he will take credit for insuring the democrats will have a veal candidate, one that can be position against donald trump about making the future better for every american. Neil lets listen. Michael bloomberg. [cheers and applause] what a crowd thank you all for coming. [cheers and applause] judy and i were just going to sit home tonight, her at her home, me at mine, watch a little television, have a drink or two. I do want to thank judge judy. Isnt she amazing . [cheers and applause] and also a big thanks to all the elected officials in florida supporting our dam pain our campaign, including manny diaz, bob buckhorn, keith jones and Congress Members ted deutch and stephanie murphy. Lets hear it for them [cheers and applause] now its great to be here in this beautiful state. I know youre not used to seeing a new yorker or in southern florida in late winter. [cheers and applause] but unlike the president , i didnt come here to golf. [cheers and applause] or to reveal classified information to maralago members. I came here because winning in november starts with florida. [cheers and applause] and if im the nominee, let me make you this promise we will beat donald trump near florida and in swing here in florida and in swing states around the country. [cheers and applause] now, tonight the polls are still open and a number of super tuesday states, and as the results come in heres what is clear, no matter how many delegates we win tonight, we have done something no one else thought was possible. In just three months, weve gone from 1 in the polls to being a contender for the democratic nomination for president. [cheers and applause] neil odd about the timing of these remarks. Would he quit the race . Hes clearly not doing that. He alluded to florida which is up for grabs on mar 17th, and that one has 219 delegates at stake. Thats a big one, and he has invested, were told in that state, more than any other. Harold ford jr. , obviously still in the race. Has no reason to quit. What do you think . Hes reset the conversation in the race. The more, again, not to be repetitive, but the more democrats are not defending socialism, but promoting their brand of capitalism and how they will make america stronger and wealthier a good thing. He personifies. That he would be, i think, very wrong from a perm standpoint it would be hurtful to the Party Overall if he gets out anytime soon. Joe biden looks like hes going to have a good night, and he owes a lot of credit to Mike Bloomberg. Here we are on march 3rd i get these days confused now neil i hear ya. I dont even know what i had for lunch. We were on 72 hours ago, and it was unclear if joe biden would have oxygen in this race. He does tonight, but this is early. This is a good night for those of us in the party who want a fair fight in november, capitalism versus capitalism trish one of my complaints and, in fact, something that maria said as well is the lack of policy thats been put forward. I tell you, by this time, think about it, four years ago we knew what peoples tax policies were. They were quite detailed. I remember going neil no, they were detailed, they just trish i do not think that we have gotten enough in the way of tax policy and how theyre going to create jobs. They still think, and i hate to break it to you, but they still think that president obama is the reason why we have a successful economy right now. So we need a lot more in the wake of actual details. Donald trump did that and changed the conversation significantly because he was neil well, barack obama wasnt a slouch. I mean, we had some growth in his years, right . Trish the republicans back then versus what were neil i dont mean to jump on you, trish. Maine and massachusetts, these are interesting developments themselves. Now, harold ford jr. Was talking about whats going on with Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders and that, you know, conundrum, if you will, where these two cancel each other, maybe paving the way for a joe biden to do well in massachusetts, maybe win massachusetts. It is playing out and to a less arer degree right now in the state of maine. Now, maine if, of course, were talking about 24 delegates here, but it is continuing the new england theme that you would think would favor Bernie Sanders or at the very least Elizabeth Warren. But because invariably they seem to divide the same vote im not saying universally its something that goes to bidens advantage. And do the math for one moment there in maine. If you add biden and bloomberg and just say bloomberg got out and sanders and warren, the candidate the bidenbloomberg lane still wins there. These numbers are surprising to me. I thought the northeast numbers, these new england numbers im a southerner, i thought they would come out a little differently here. This suggests strongly, again, that bloomberg is right to be in this race, and it could very well be that biden is the mom nearby or bloomberg, but the really is that that lane is finding some traction. Neil we are not calling states with less than 1 or 2 of the race, although remarkably we can do this with these models. We can say, we can estimate what the winner will be, but were not saying that. Its just a phenomena that you will see keep popping up. Maria and there are deals being made. We know there was probably a deal being made with joe biden by Amy Klobuchar and Pete Buttigieg, you know, to step down right before super tuesday. And in terms of Elizabeth Warren, you have to question what is she doing . I think shes vying for the Vice President spot. She would like to be partner with Bernie Sanders. So thats what shes doing right now. Bloomberg, look, hes still neil in other words, no ones telling her to get out. Maria shes the same lane as Bernie Sanders, and she wants to be his Vice President ial candidate. Its clear to her at this point that shes not going to be the nominee. Michael bloomberg, theres policy and then theres personality. Its good to see that he got a little personality finally in this, you know, trying to make some jokes and all that. I dont know how sustainable that is, but theres policy. We dont really know his policies. I know he wants to raise taxes on wall street and the top 1 , i know hes against guns and hes big on the environment. But beyond that i dont really know what his policies are. And then theres personality, which goes a long way. Witness donald trump. Neil youre right about that. By the way, lets take a quick peek at fox business coverage, looking at markets and how theyre doing across the globe and our own futures market. Whether you want to extrapolate that the markets are jumping on the prospect that Bernie Sanders could be fading, thats a leap i wont take. But i just said it. Anyway, were going to be looking at our own markets, tumbling with growing concerns about the coronavirus. This could be signs of cdc putting out a late report that while a pandemic might be inevitable, it doesnt mean its bad. Getting the gist of their statement which confused the heck out of me. Again, this is where we stand right now in this race. On the phone with us is the former New York Stock Exchange chairman and ceo, dick grasso. There does seem to be something to the fact that when people, you know, fade out of a race that support joe biden in this case, its a sign democrats very, very much want to avoid any cacophony or confusion or anything indicating a split or a bad arguing back and forth and unite the party maybe a little bit earlier than thought. Would that pose a threat to the president if theyre getting their eggs in on the other orde . Well or first, great to be with you, neil. What you would like to see or what moderate democrats would like to see is a debate in november between their brand of capitalism and Donald Trumps brand of capitalism. I think tonight is a great night for bloomberg thus far, a great night for bloomberg and for former Vice President biden. Its clear if this continues that none of the candidates are going to get the 1991 votes that are necessary in the first round of the convention which means michaels strategy has worked beautifully. It will go to a brokered convention neil whos to say, whos to say hes the instant beneficiary of that . Well, i dont think he necessarily is the beneficiary, but it certainly takes the wind out of senator sanders sails and takes away from the democrat debate in november becoming one of socialism versus capitalism. America will never be a socialist country. E even denmark, which the senator likes to point to as an example of socialism working, the danish leadership have said flat out we are not socialists. We are capitalists who have sincere concern for those who are lacking. All right . This is not a country that will ever accept Bernie Sanders brand of socialism. Neil you know youre ticking off people when the danes respond and get furious. Maria i think dick is spot on. The democrats do not want to have to defend socialism and Bernie Sanders. And i think if it does go to a point where Bernie Sanders is in the lead and poised to become the nominee, you get a brokered convention. And lets not underestimate what Hillary Clinton might do, and lets not understatement what president obama might underestimate what president obama might do and say weve got to get michelle in there. All bets are off. The democrats do not want to go up against donald trump. Trish and dont get me started on the danes. Anyway [laughter] neil such a nice people. Trish theyre really not, actually. At least not on twitter. [laughter] we wont go there. Weve had this discussion many times. Hillary is not out. You go to a brokered convention, hillary is going to jump in. Maria shes going to ride in on a white horse, i agree with you, dick. Trish but thats not going to fly. Maria right. Trish think of how dumb maria i agree. But trish from a political perspective. And well go to harold, the democrat. I mean, it would be a disaster for your party to bring hillary back. Harold again, the fact that were not having a conversation about socialism versus capitalism [laughter] neil focused like a laser. Mr. Grasso is someone that i ad mire a great deal and someone that we owe a great debt to for his leadership. We are at a moment tonight for democrats which democrats who want to see a reasonable, robust, serious debate. Look, Bernie Sanders has diagnosed the problems of income inequality in a meaningful and serious way. My challenge with him is that his answers are not serious at all. Tonight voters in 14 states, almost 1350 delegates have had a say this evening. It is early, but the preliminary indicators suggest that there are members in the Democratic Party who care about the issues hes outlining who say, you know what . Those are not the answers of the path that we want to pursue. Thats a big win tonight, at least as we sit here at 8 40, 8 45. We have a ways to go. If we get to the convention, i would agree with the analysis. I think secretary clinton, if given the chance to be the only person who can stop Bernie Sanders, she would probably leap at the opportunity. But were only at march 3rd, and weve got an entire month to go, an entire spring and summer to go trish you also have to think about all of those supporters in the Bernie Sanders camp right now. How disenfranchised do they feel, do they become . Theyre a significant portion right now. Harold we live in a democratic society. They have to accept numbers he said earlier if he had 1800 delegates going into today, we should give it to him. Neil all right. Maria i think you have to remember whats happening right now, and that is income inequality is narrowing. When you look at wages, the bottom earners are seeing bigger wage increases on the bottom than the top. So this whole idea that trumps policies are just for the 1 president , its just political talk 1 its just not true. Harold the ones at the bottom would switch with the ones at the top in a heartbeat. Neil i do want to mention, seven president s have come from brokered president s. Just a reminder. Well have more after this. I cant believe it. That chad really was raised by wolves . Which one is your mother . Thats her right there. Oh, gosh. No, i cant believe how easy it was to save hundreds of dollars on my Car Insurance with geico. Its really great. Well, im just so glad to have met your beautiful family. And we better be sitting down now. Believe it geico could save you fifteen percent or more on Car Insurance. And when you open a new brokerage account, your cash is automatically invested at a great rate. Thats why fidelity leads the industry in value while our competition continues to talk. Talk, talk while our competition continues to talk. Can we go get some ice cream . Alright, we gotta stop here first. From smarter atms, to after hours video tellers comcast business is connecting thousands of banks to technology that turns everyday transactions into extraordinary experiences. Hi there. How are you . Do you have any lollipops in there . laughing no, sorry. Were helping all kinds of businesses go beyond customer expectations. How can we help you . Which is why when it comes to his dentures only new poligrip cushion and comfort will do. The first and only formula with adaptagrip cushioning technology. Choose new poligrip cushion and comfort. Neil you know, really were just getting started, polls recently closing in arkansas, in another 15 minutes in texas. 228 delegates, the second biggest prize of the night behind california, minnesota and colorado. This has been an opportunity for Jackie Deangelis to sort of monitor whats on voters minds as they cross the country and take a look at these 14 states up for grabs. Some interesting reads on what were thinking, huh . Reporter there definitely are. Of those 1357 delegates at stake, 9 is of them in massachusetts 91 of them in massachusetts. Lets take a look at voters there. Of these voters, many of them were late deciders, and the majority of those late deciders, about 43 , they were favoring joe biden. You can see that warren was a close second, massachusetts is her home state. Its sanders backyard, and so hes running third. Interesting to see what folks were thinking in that state. Now, health care in massachusetts was the top issue for a lot of these voters. 35 said we are worried 35 said we are worried about health care, and you can see that sanders is leading there. 30 of those voters were favoring him as they were heading in, 27 to biden. Lets switch and take a look at texas because the most delegates at stake behind california tonight, texas has 228. Late deciders there were 27 , and of these 39 , almost 40 were favoring joe biden. Sanders was expected to do a little better here, but bloomberg was the second there with about 20 . Finally, lets take a look at minnesota because this was Amy Klobuchars home state. 75 delegates at stake there, 49 of them were late deciders favoring biden as well. So that gives you a sense of what the zeitgeist was going into the evening, neil. Neil i like that. North carolina kind of interesting as we pick apart the races, democratic governor roy cooper who was not that far from being pushed out of office, racial charges, he won his partys primary if, you know the state very well, harold. I mean, people come back, temperature, it is not. But tennessee, it is not. It is an interesting reminder that we can sometimes prematurely dig the graves of politicians. Harold no doubt it. We cant underestimate or overstate the role that it looks like this consolidation may have played for democrats. In minnesota almost 50 of the people siding with biden with klobuchar being off the ticket. It just says a lot. Too, i think voters are voters dont put people in the penalty box for the rest of their lives. They judge people on you look at biden what hes faced in this campaign, all the incoming, even some of the incoming bloomberg has faced. I mean, the president s a great example of this as well. Neil probably the best example. Harold very well might be. So tonight, again, its early, but i gotta tell you, im adding up the numbers of biden and bloomberg, and again, if you want that lane to be open and viable for a democrat, a moderate democrat or a more practical or capitalistfocused democrat, this is a good night for that group of people. Im one of them. Neil you are, indeed. We keep showing you the massachusetts race because its so tight right now with about 5 of the vote in. It always alternates between Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and joe biden. He seems to be the beneficiary when those two are tight, biden picks up the slack. Still early on, no one is calling on that race thus far, but its an interesting microcosm of the type of evening were having. Guess whos here . Liz claman of the claman countdown, she joins our august panel, and shes really excited about it. [laughter] good to have you, we were chatting about this idea that, you know, never, ever write an to bitch ware for a candidate because it never plans out. Liz no, you could get American Samoa delegates. [laughter] there are 6. This is the electoral debut of Mike Bloomberg, and people were saying, oh, forget it, theres no way. What harold just mentioned was there may be a lane, an opportunity for him here, except that when you look at what joe biden was able to accomplish in South Carolina which was definitely to say thats biden country, you know that Bernie Sanders has vermont country, and you know that liz warren is at least fighting for massachusetts. Neil i would imagine its a big em barrett if she embarrassment if she fails to win liz when you dont win your own state, that can be a problem. California, as were looking at the clock, thats 415 delegates, a very delegaterich state. You know, dont assume that say, for example, a Bernie Sanders youre talking about assumptions and putting people in their greys before it actually happens graves. BErnie Sanders is very popular with the latin and certainly the hispanic vote over there except that youve got to take into account that the Central Valley of california and Southern California heavily his e pan in, but youve got the v. A. Care rows there, theyre the known cowboys. They have their own businesses. They are very capitalistic, and its not necessarily something that they warm up to when they hear the word socialism. So watch out for california. Neil whos the last i know youre from california, beverly hills, as a matter of fact. Ronald reagans the last republican who won liz that was, of course, way back when. Neil you dont remember, but i do. Liz thank you, neil. I do remember one thing, that was a huge deal at the time. Neil sure a. Liz watch out also for colorado. Colorados a purple state thats moment by moment turning a little more blue. So california, colorado, texas, of course neil youre right. Liz very interesting. Neil colorado at 9 p. M. , about nine minutes from now. Trish, early in the evening though it might be, you were mentioning, i think you were mentioning and certainly harold was this idea, you know, 15 is what you need to get a share of the delegates. And if bloomberg can pop over that level in a lot of key states, and right now its showing that he has, you get more and more delegates squired. It doesnt put you in the lead, but it does give you some representation going into the convention if you stick it out til the convention, right . Trish sure. And we could be looking at a brokered convention scenario, and i say its not good for the party because i think you wind up in a situation where you have a lot of disenfranchised people where people feel like, wait a second, i was all in for sanders, and now the establishment took it from him and, thus, took it from me. And thats the risk that they run neil i know that sort of urban legend that, you know, somehow hillary stole that from Bernie Sanders. But her delegate hold was pretty proportionate to her popular vote. So this idea that, you know, theyre going to steal it e again from her, i dont know, harold, you didnt trish if they have a brokered convention, thats exactly neil well, thats the fear. But you extended that to include any infighting that doesnt result in multiple votes. And that is damaging to the party. Harold in fairness to trishs and sanders point, they thought it was wrong that the super delegates declared early on their support. And the super delegates siding with him did distort the numbers a bit, in fairness to him. I was a chipton supporter. You look at clinton supporter. But you look at 92, kennedy fought carter right up to the very end, reagan fought ford right up to the end, ford ended up not being successful. So i dont think neil so as nasty h. W. Didnt fare as well. [inaudible conversations] neil understood. Harold this would be a true brokered one if you to dont get to 1991. There. Trish thats where you run the risk that you have people who are super fed up. You could have riots. I mean, its unchartered territory certainly in modern times, and theres going to be a group of people, the bernie bros which i call the bernie thugs that are going to be really angry, really, really angry. And will that materialize in a negative way for the party neil the anger dissipates, outside of italian families, it does [laughter] frank lutz joins us right now, pollster extraordinaire. If you buy argument that its going to be nasty no matter how you slice it when its all said and done, the party angry at Bernie Sanders, he angry at them, parties will do whatever in their power to avoid that. Whats your prognosis here . They heal themselves. And the people who dont like donald trump are going to vote democratic no matter who nominee is. Theyre to me, the big story tonight is that democrats do not like billionaires. Neil, ive said that again and again. Tom steyer goes through the entire campaign, spends many, many millions of dollars and gets nothing. Mike bloomberg, congress hes going to have a good night tonight. I think hes going to finish below the threshold in a number of states, at least my prognosis, and after spending hundreds of millions of dollars, more ads in some states than all the other candidates combined, and hes barely at 15 . They simply dont like wealthy people. And you hear it in Bernie Sanders statements, you hear it in his debate performance. Second is that message matters. Joe biden had an outstanding debate last week, and that brought him back. And people who who were deciding that they tonight want to vote for sanders, they were choosing between bloomberg and biden. Tonight i believe they will choose biden. I think they will i think bidens going to have a great night tonight. I still think in the end Bernie Sanders wins a few more delegates, but its going to be a twoperson race by tomorrow. Neil you know, liz, this notion they dont like rich people, jfk and fdr liz please. I love frank, but ooh ive got to disagree. Take it to Southern California. There may not be a lot of there are certainly quite a few multie millionaires there, and ive been talking to a bunch of them, and ive been talking to regular folks on the phone all week. Theyre very concerned about the early voting. You know, california is now very much a votebymail state neil 20 have already voted. Liz indeed. And neil i mean before today. Liz indeed. It was open february 3rd. You know, the slate does not resemble what it did february 3rd. I know people who voted for pete buell buttigieg, and theyre really unhappy because they feel that was a wasted vote because had they known neil they would have gone somewhere else. Liz this may really change the effort here. Californians like money, they definitely and democratic californians do, and they dont hate success. They, actually, many of them are very concerned about Bernie Sanders and frank, you know, Bernie Sanders has a huge contingent there. 105 staffers, 23 offices there. I think he visited coachella rather recently which is around palm springs. Not saying he doesnt have a foothold neil i dont want to jump on anybody, but oklahoma, we can now declare it for joe biden with the 37 delegates there. I believe that is his fourth state pickup of the night . Ralph, am i reading that correctly . So of the five states we can call only one so far for Bernie Sanders in vermont. Virginia, North Carolina, alabama and tennessee im sorry, oklahoma now for joe biden. Im sorry, frank, you were saying . Ive been doing focus groups in california over the last six weeks, and they do not like Mike Bloomberg. And im telling you, hes going to do badly there. Hes going to finish neil no, bloomberg is not the same as trish i would just jump in and Bernie Sanders is going to win. I know this state. Ive been talking to voters face to face. Not operatives. And this is the one thing that i try to bring to fox, is the perspective of the voters. And Bernie Sanders is very strong in in this state. He has been very a populist message, very antibusiness, medicare for all, hostility towards millionaires and billionaires, as he likes to say, and hes going to have a good night trish frank, isnt that because of his personality, his authenticity . Im sorry, Mike Bloomberg and i like the guy, i actually used to work for him at bloomberg television, but he does not translate. It just doesnt come through the screen. Donald trump does. Theres a commonality not in california. How much did donald trump lose in california . What percentage is Mike Bloomberg going to get in california . Im going to show you person by person, evidence by evidence, this i know trish californians dont hate wealthy people. Liz they do not [laughter] californias going to vote for the democratic nominee over the republican, lets save this piece of tape for the christmas party. Liz okay. California will vote for the democratic nominee over donald trump neil no matter who that nominee is, right . Could be Bernie Sanders, could be Mike Bloomberg, could be joe biden trish so if you were donald trump, youd write off california . Neil almost every republican has. Absolutely. Absolutely, i would do that. Are. Trish look, i want to just jump on this though because i think the value of personality is important. California aside, right . Both donald trump and Bernie Sanders have an awe then disty that america has responded to and that americans really like. And so its this weird crossover where sometimes you see these Bernie Sanders supporters neil and im interrupting you rudely because our satellite just goes down with frank liz sorry, frank. Neil as were looking at another state called this time for Bernie Sanders, koh goes for Bernie Sanders right now colorado. This is his second state win. Edward lawrence at Bernie Sanders headquarters in vermont right now, he won his own state and now he picks up colorado. A purple state, i dont know if that they call it i blue outright, but a big win, obviously, for senator sanders. Edward lawrence. You can tell this is a very excited crowd here, you can hear them yelling burning, burning, they are very positive they chant his name. Very excited, very energetic. Their campaign is looking at those western states. Talk about california law, a spent a lot of time there. He spent over a billion dollars there. Joe biden, the former Vice President spending about half that in the state. So that campaign here really sees us coming down to a twoperson race between senator Bernie Sanders and joe biden. They do believe they can get the edge tonight with those big states, texas, california, they are looking to do wellin massachusetts as well as minnesota. They are trying to send a message here. The the energy here is still incredible. Theres a lot going on, they are not giving up hope. There are some boots when here biden has won certain states. But again, they are helpful for the rest of the states as they come in. This Campaign Says they are about reform and change. They stuck to that message. They said senator Bernie Sanders is real, he connects to those voters and stays on message. Hes had the same velocity for decades. Again, back to you. Neil thank you very much and correct me ralph if im missing something six states have now been reported of the 14 up for grabs tonight. BErnie Sanders is one his own state vermont in colorado. Joe bidens picked up virginia, oklahoma, North Carolina and alabama. Right now we are in North Carolina with the latest there. I think we are seeing similar patterns across all of the states, the former Vice President one. It was a huge night for him here in North Carolina. Weve been here the last few days getting a sense of what people were talking about. Im struck by some of the storylines going in and how they actually played out in primary night. For example, going in here, we said yes, Vice President biden had a terrific night in South Carolina. But would it have come a little bit late, too little too late, if you will to build that momentum just a few days later on to super tuesday. And that we are looking at the early vote, almost 800,000 people in the state voted early, before saturdays amount of facts they would not have known the South Carolina results. Maybe they will break for somebody else, Bernie Sanders or Mike Bloomberg. On both of those questions, biden comes out a big winner. The late deciders, i heard jackie talking about this earlier across the country, that was a big story here North Carolina. People decided in the last few days they really broke for biden. Outside anecdotally we were at a polling place outside the city of charlotte earlier today, just so happened that was a place that did not have a lot of early voting. People are voting day of i and even at the time it was pouring rain theres a steady flow of voters a lot of them biden supporters. They decided just in the last few days to come in bidens direction. Another thing about that area it happened to be largely africanamerican neighborhood and that is another area in which biden really dominated here. North caroline as he did in South Carolina and virginia. That vote, that Community Voting for the former Vice President has a big, big story. But it has been Something Else to watch this, neil, having been in iowa and New Hampshire , hadnt seen that former Vice President campaign in the states to see the transformation of the campaign and the wrote results that were in South Carolina in states like virginia and this one in North Carolina. He certainly had a very big night. Neil arent thank you my friend very much. I wanted to take a peek at tennessee. The poles were supposed to close at 8 00 p. M. Because of the tornado there. They kept things open a little bit later comments 9 00 p. M. In some locale till 11 00 p. M. But Something Interesting going on there i dont know the state very well, what do you make of what youre seeing, very early with just about a third of the vote in right now. There is been toggling between joe biden had been with Bernie Sanders. But look at Mike Bloomberg with 23 of the votes. First of all my prayers go out to the family and friends that work that were hit by the tornado worked their way between the state. Think the number there is indicative of what youre seeing in other southern states. I think democrats in tennessee, arkansas, they are certainly more practically in pragmatic minded. They are divided they have a say in a democratic primary. Normally when you reach this point its more of a coordination with this point. Im not surprises of the numbers as they are. You see a lot of energized democrats you see that middle lane going up the Biden Bloomberg numbers. I dont count bloomberg out in the state. I know theres a lot of family and others that are very supportive. Neil colorado in minnesota im interested in the Governors Point those of the states he got to watch. If sanders wins both of those states, if he is not the nominee democrats have to be very careful how they talk about this going forward. Liz you think you go again for the present . Ralph is very likely. Neil al gore won that state. [laughter] if a display for the lakers. Ralph colorado has great things to watch here. Neil let me introduce we are former republican, was constant government scott walker. And look who snuck in as well anderson, all here. Governor let me begin with you, an early read on the night is that joe biden, once given up for dead, seems to have resurrected himself. I think a lot of us thought South Carolina would be his last stand. This would be a boost, i still think its a bernies to lose, you look over history, democratic republic and the like people have run and done well before, are typically the front runner. I still think Bernie Sanders has a base will be see the base coming in in a few hours in california. But it is going to be close and a lot more competitive than people thought when they were writing the Vice President s obituary. I can remember them writing you often a recall election. You gotta be very careful with that charlie would even customer. Ivan talked with biden people tonight heres what i would say, if it is close, with a bernie and my didnt and texas, they are telling me it could be kind of close in california. If Mike Bloomberg is the spoiler on this, there will be tremendous pressure from all of harolds friends. Maybe not harold himself but tomorrow morning. Bh of the spoiler from proquest mike. If you add them in texas in the polls now, biden wins, right . If you put those two moderate lanes together he wins. They are going to say comments and be a lot of harolds friends, i dont know about harold will ask them later. There can essay mr. Bloomberg, please drop out. That will be the democratic statute i dont think the listen because he doesnt listen anybody. If i entrance be advised Michael Bloomberg i wouldnt see a reason to drop out. You have to remember Elizabeth Warren is in this race theres a lot of warned voters are either the second choice is mayor peter was no longer in the race or Bernie Sanders. Their other folk stillness race that are keeping some votes. Neil what about the biden post, those people who want him are they pushing to keep her in the race question. Think the biden folks would prefer she stay in the race. Neil because she stipends votes. From all the polling ive seen this election is there are two things consistent he stand out. The democrats, they want somebody who can beat donald trump first and foremost. And second, they are basically satisfied with their field. They may not like one cannot hear there, but they like their options. Within the waiting for joe biden is a sign of life, prove he can win something. Once he proves in South Carolina he could, suddenly a lot of democratic voters who are sitting back waiting are saying okay he could do it. And thats why youre seeing he do so well this late. Neil comic will more point question rick i think Mike Bloomberg is going to be facing being a possible pariah in his new party he might have to go back to being a republican. Im telling you i can tell you the vitriol on if you talk to establishment democrats and most of them arent established. The bernie bros represent a minority. They want blood if this guy is denying biden the nomination. But most will take his money. Lets now argue and harold have eugenic contribution customer. A political contribution. [laughter] the fact that bloomberg has been such a central part not to be a one note pony of switching the conversation and take him from a polling standpoint but making a conversation about democrats version of capitalism versus republican version of capitalism as opposed to capitalism versus socialism. That is the win. And bloomberg is played how he personifies it. I hear wisconsin miss wisconsin swing states are still about people concerned about socialism because a Bernie Sanders and his supporters i think from republican standpoint they dont walk away. They get upset about this, who knows what they do. A lot of them set on their hands the 2016 election. Neil in general election, if they walk away and biden picks up suburban women, who cares . Neil but to the Governors Point, a lot of people were established republicans would sit out in the election last time and partly they didnt. Neil lets bring Michael Emmanuel at a watch party in austin texas. Whats going on there mike . Neil, good evening to you weve got a hole at a democrats filing here to watch the numbers. Looks like a good evening for Bernie Sanders safar will see how the rest plays out but still quite early. Across the state weve heard a lot of enthusiasm from Texas Democrats, to our weights and polling locations here in austin. Similar scenes in dallas and houston as well as we travel across the state. A number of Texas Democrats who spoke into along the way say their top issues are healthcare, and they also just want to win. They want a change in leadership in the white house. Bottom line and a buzz here in austin texas, texas Democratic Party says turnout was excellent today and they feel like all things considered, it went very smoothly for big primary and a huge state. 228 delegates acts take care, we saw of course the establishment rally round joe biden in last 24 to 36 hours. You had Amy Klobuchar come in, Pete Buttigieg come in and texans over or trying to push joe biden across the finish line. We will see if it works. We will see 1 million texans voted early in the democratic primary, so obviously there votes may go to buttigieg in klobuchar and obverse of the candidates still in the race. An exciting night here in austin texas, the liberal hub and what is traditionally a red republican state. Liz youre right it stands out like a sore thumb, thank you very much michael. Kristin theres always that hold democrats we can put the state blue, used to be reliable back in jfks time now its anything but a Bernie Sanders comes with the wind in texas and trump gets a student 28 delegates, can democrats realistically think of winning that state . Its a tough one. At as a tough one. Bear in mind the last president ial election donald trump run by nine points but he also won ohio by nine points ohio was the swing states the deciding say the 2004 election. So you do see them out from time to time change was democrat shift and realign themselves voters realign themselves. But texas is lucy holding the football for democrats. They simply dont have the right candidate that tends to be the big problem whether it was or work but it was not enough. I think if i am a democrat im focused on trying to pick off some of those blue wall states that flipped and donald trump won. Thats where i would put my effort. Neil one of the interesting things about texas a lot of people are moving there from place like california and new york. But the workers are moving over there are generally more democratics and situate type workers who are ironically forcing that change. What he think . I think in the end theyre going to carry the state the congressman you can appreciate this having served in Congress Want the subplots in texas and elsewhere, part of the reason why the push was made to go around bidens you have Bernie Sanders of the top of the ticket, its harder to win those lower tickets not only the house, but also losing state legislative races where they do have a shot in texas, where greg abbott and others are trying to rally the forces is to protect their state legislative races. If Bernie Sanders on the top of the ticket in texas, its really hard for democrats to make inroads elsewhere. You can make the economic argument in texas would have socialism with 3 unemployment. Where wages of workers, many hispanic are going up because of the booming construction. I was in texas the year ago, my old man is an ironworker in these to put this rebar is in the ground. There were miles everywhere. These are workingclass people getting good wages. I dont know how you sell that to the typical spanish. Now ironically, bernie does well with hispanics. I kind of dont get that. Maybe its a generational thing i dont know. Neil he does not do as well as africanamericans though and thats a problem for Bernie Sanders. He needs a pickup sport he gets it with hispanics but not that. Seems like his weakness with africanAmerican Voters is over those over 50. He fares better with Younger Voters. And thats with American Voters fell into that as well. Youre right governor, and i would argue like texas rehab City Council Races you have outside Authority Given to those outside of government. You understand this wealth anyone on this panel, finally, the issue of the economy going strong, i think in a lot of ways. The issue is affordability for american families. The question in this race, i believe, if you have the right democrats, youre talking about capitalism how do you make sure capitalism Works Program . Neil why is the party so sure that joe biden is that right democrat . If you are arguing capitalism is our way to the future the path that will make america greater and stronger more prosperous, you have much better chance of making that argument. Joe biden is in that lane. If its capitalism versus socialism, there are some people to argue there are benefits of socialism. I dont understand them or agree with them. Because people will dismiss it. Its a point thats been made. See meco thing to bear in mind as the young voters that really like Bernie Sanders, that may or may not be turning out to vote, certainly theyre not looking like there turning out to vote in the numbers hes hoping for. Many of them dont define socialism as the government takes the production. They are looking at a Holding Hands being nice talk and working together. I think it creates an interesting dynamic. Neil im not a young person said that versus i said that. With the right candidate is there a young voters will turn out of the states are correct they will turn out this democratic primary doesnt seemed like its that. See mackeys 30 that group in the party. [inaudible] im just saying that will be brought around and persuaded to be near the goals that senator sanders once without adopting. That will be a bidens people are telling bloomberg people tomorrow. I know you keep hearing that obama might pipe up and say something. I think you did to klobuchar and buttigieg. Sue had hes playing a role. Neil just let you know of the 14 conscious up for grabs tonight six have already been decided still early, vermont and colorado for Bernie Sanders, hes doing very wellin a couple of other states is just too early to call. For joe biden in virginia, oklahoma North Carolina alabama among some of the bigger delegate prizes of the night. But its still early, our futures market which is something you get is an added extra with no extra fee. Are all soaring right now not so much based on this although people said the worst thing a bead to vote for Bernie Sanders. That might be a flip read on this. Thats the read were going with that the time being. That the fact the asian markets are trying to recover for the cell weve had with the coronavirus. Thats coming up more often these days. Neil arent welcome back to our continued coverage it is the second biggest prize of the night the 228 delegates at state in the Lone Star State the state of texas right now. We are still way way too close to call but a third of the race its tight. Weve been taking a very close look at key counties for the latest. Hey deidre. On a call at some of these here and see if we get this magic mapper working. So one area wanted to focus on was often texas. Because as we know it is kind of a many Silicon Valley commie of apple, dell, ibm, all of those in and around the austin area. One thing to note as well, it is known as being very liberal. Not a surprise if you like that allusion to Silicon Valley. We are looking at the coast over here in the sense of it being a big energy place. So following some of these economic places are rather economic indicators. Although every here, it represents a beta orourke, el paso was where he came from. He has in fact endorsed joe biden pirtle see if that makes a difference. Massachusetts we follow as well, the idea being its wore a senator worn does not have a strong presence there. That will be very bad news for her. Just as a reminder, before i throw back to you, in 2016 it was soso close between senator sanders and secretary clinton showing us this faceoff between a mainstream candidate and a progressive one. Now back to you. Neil thanks for that, in the meantime hilary is in West Palm Beach florida at Michael Bloombergs headquarters. He addressed the media little earlier than he thought that whats he up to. We know is still very much in the race and still very much engaged. That is right now, in fact moments after bloomberg left the stage they blasted the sound from the bee gees is staying live over the speakers. That is certainly the message from the campaign tonight. He is not going anywhere even though his half a billion dollars so far has not won him many states. I talked to a Campaign Source or talks about the super tuesday saturday with me tonight and they told me it was never about winning states, just winning delegates. As a result command, heres what is clear. No matter how many delegates we win tonight, we have done something no one else thought was possible. And just three months, we have gone from 1 of the polls to being a contender for the democratic nomination for president. Bloomberg tonight making it clear he is playing the one game he held his rally in florida tonight they vote to ask him now. He said thats actually estate he can win, not only in the primary but also headed into november. Earlier today, he said it was joe biden who is a spoiler in the race, not him for staying in the race. Neil alright thank you very much. Tennessee has gone for joe biden. We can mark that down as a 64 delegates at stake in tennessee. They had that horrific tornado last night that killed two dozen. But for joe biden it is a very significant pickup. And its how we portioned out is anyones guess. It represents is for the win of the evening. If you add virginia, oklahoma North Carolina alabama, now tennessee. Its a former reagan economic advisor, its still early, we are not anywhere near done. But its interesting that democrats seem to be coalescing around the moderate rather than the socialist. And that he represents joe biden their best chance. If you break it down ive been doing rough math, the non sanders vote, by that im throwing in Michael Bloomberg not so much even Elizabeth Warren who is very much like Bernie Sanders, that non sanders, non extreme vote is beating comfortably by a little bit more than half the vote recorded thus far. For the more moderate choice. What you make of that . I think it is wonderful. I think Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warrens economics is disastrous. I think it would be easier to run against her President Trump, but i would not like to see that. I like to see the democrats be more reasonable, more Clear Thinking like harold ford. Id like to see the Democratic Party be in competition with good economic policies and Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren are just not there. One that is shocking me, neil, is watching mayor bloomberg. For a half a billion dollars, you should get a lot more than hes getting. Neil he is picking up and some other states. Its interesting, he is just over that 15 mark, not in all of them but before it was like or 11 and not even that. Still early in the evening because i noticed some of these states he was over 15 he drops down to 14. He needs 15 to get some sure the delegates pretties not quitting and i wonder if its a wise position to be in luscious put it this way biden even with his victories hasnt not had the smoothest performance on the stump. And you want to be an alternative to him, there is no purpose in Michael Bloomberg hanging it up right . Note Michael Bloomberg is just trying to spoil her like he has been in so many things lately and i think he wants to get just enough delegates there so we can really mess up the democratic convention. Thats not a good way to play the game. To be honest with you, he should have been out on the road riding in all the races doing what everybody else didnt see him outfront. The first debate he was in neil, was really a catastrophe for him. We havent seen him perform, we havent seen is policies its too bad is trying to be a spoiler. Biden, im surprised im pleasantly surprised that biden is doing a lot better than i thought he would, especially after the initial iowa and New Hampshire, biden is doing better and thats better than sanders and Elizabeth Warren. Good economic should be bipartisan and it should be at two parties trying to get the best economic policies and the democrats just have not been doing that. They have been negative negative on everything thats good and for the first time i think were showing an extreme on the democrats is not panning out elyse i hope its not. Neil Governor Scott walker with this of wisconsin and its interesting what are just said on the got me thinking about the role, and how its changed now for New Hampshire and iowa. All of the sudden it works with biden is done, to wait and pick up and get a late start in South Carolina, pickup and continue on super tuesday. He could be changing how this all breaks out. Leveraging about a third of all the delegates in the first four states we have a hundred and 50 so a whole different ballgame now. But he had to show at least one of those four races any of us that saw this all along thought it be South Carolina. I think the good news is, for the voters, as there can have a really shop for many months to come. The democrats in wisconsin doesnt come in for a few more weeks into april. But bloomberg. Neil beck california. Bloomberg has got to get out hes there is no way absolutely no way he can achieve whats necessary to achieve the nomination. Hes talking about bring it to the convention, thats just not going to happen. In the end hes going to get blamed by folks if joe biden is not the nominee. I still believe Bernie Sanders is gonna be at have bloomberg stays in its can be even more likely. Neil you are no stranger to the battle that Ronald Reagan had taking on an incumbent president in 1976. Darn near pulled it off. But izzy was mentioning these battles even though they arent brokered conventions there broken relations. On its very tough for a party to come back for that if it gets to that for democrats that could be a tough road. If you look at trump, we had a broken group there without we had a lot of hostilities there, when you sucked from coming into the general election he was not the favorite of every republican, believe me. He was not. What really gives me hope right now is that trump has solidified the republican support. In 2016 he had not solidified the republican support, there is a lot of never trump is then. Theyre very cute never trump is now. I think its leaning much more towards trump in this election. Think the democrats are going at it way too strongly i think its only going to get nastier. Neil seems to be early theyre organizing a past fights more the republicans were. Ours lasted up to the last hour. Yes and hes still one even with that so imagine what he could do with that support ted kruse is his biggest supporter, its just amazing with the Republican Party in the last four years. [inaudible] neil alright thank you my friend. Had you remember that . I remember at all. Thank you art very much we have a lot more coming up. Kennedy will be joining us we will get the latest on how texas is sorting out between Bernie Sanders and joe biden. Just the notion of Bernie Sanders and winning taxes with cowboy had cindy hall. [laughter] im sorry, thats an image i cannot get out of my head. More after this. You work hard for your money. Stretched days for it. Juggled life for it. Took charge for it. So care for it. Look after it. Invest with the expertise of j. P. Morgan, either with an advisor or online, through chase. After all, its yours. Chase. Make more of whats yours. Neil all right, we are now in seven states we can comfortably call of the 14 up for grabs tonight. Were still waiting decisions in maine, massachusetts, and minnesota, and texas, and arkansas. The states that we can call right now for Bernie Sanders his home state of vermont and colorado. For joe biden big wins in virginia oklahoma North Carolina alabama in a few moments ago, tennessee. So we are looking at all of that. We are going to continue, weve got our own kennedy and with got greg raber in the former host of cles real smartypants, look at the corporate world. Kennedy, the person early on to read here is joe biden was on life support, little more than 72 hours ago. And he could come out of this evening with the most delegates, what the heck happened . Kennedy what what happened is the establishment coalesced. And it was not only the candidates, it was the media and the dnc. And you realize how powerful of an operation they are actually running. They dont just suggest that people get in line, it was a call to action. Especially for these moderate candidates because it became very, very clear to people that there are two lanes in this race. They have been split and a Democratic Party before 2060 that chasm was not healed after Bernie Sanders was pushed aside by the dnc. They realize that this movement has only gained popularity and a lot of young, passionate support and it was only growing and growing. And they realize, it was the moment of truth. That is when the establishment really got these people in line. I still want to know what Pete Buttigieg an and Amy Klobuchar were promised for stepping out away right before super tuesday. They were promised positions, that timing is not an accident. I wasnt present enough to see that coming, i was talking to my youngest song about that i said after tuesday, he will drop out, klobuchar will drop out, tom will drop out, and then he texting me each day dad, you are right, but they are doing it now. Neil but dont you think South Carolina loan could have changed things that people were so surprised . That he won convincing but that was clever, you got the number three guy in the house to look at this matchup when they are down ballot, they santa was the house itself as well as state legislative races. The thing to me as this is one of the most unprecedented moves. Bloomberg has paid media bernie has an army of volunteers and activists, but the dnc and the establishment itself put together this Media Campaign with not just the other candidates but with everything you see all across america the headlines were all these people moving towards biden has had a positive impact. Cmac and the key in massachusetts, bernie went there to take out warren, and in doing so, it looks like he biden could come out and win it. So otherwise his best was in the south he picked up massachusetts at the huge wooden. Theyre down ticket argument came out in the last debate. Thats me started to see that i think thats what precipitated this consolidation. Neil your Michael Bloomberg and her hoping nobody wins on the first ballots were staying in the race right . Your hose if your democrat or anyone else is not fully in the sanders camp. Hes one of the few people of that said this movement may have so much momentum. Dont get comfortable where youre at right now he said that the 2018 midterms and a lot of republicans lost their seats because that complacency. What he think youre seeing when you talk on the establishment, is people like nancy pelosi, because she will say one thing in public shall come out and say i would absolutely support Bernie Sanders if he were our nominee. But then in private, thats all shes looking at. The fundraising in this down ballot races. Neil some of these older democrats are never George Mcgovern and they fear that. He has the passion of the partying and every thing with him but he ended up losing a landslide. So 72 is pass the census sander covered message and all this is redistricting happen starting next year, and that will affect whether nancy pillows a or Kevin Mccarthy of the speaker. If they lose down the ballot, they dont just stand risk losing the house now they could be out of whack for the next decade. Neil lets talk with them and shes been reading voters minds and she has latebreaking finding. We are waiting for texas and california because those of the two that have the most delegates at stake. So its a big issue in texas at 228 delegates at stake . One of them is integration. Motor analysis show that joe biden was favored in terms of handling immigration, bernies second bloomberg was with warren lasker a lets switch to california where the polls are still open they are open till 11 00 p. M. Eastern time and the issue we are looking at there, sort of the late deciders overall had been favoring biden. They were favoring him there as well also in california, known as a progressive state, more than half said actually that they once a candidate who will pursue practical centrist policies. 57 gave you sense of where their minds are tonight. Neil jackie thank you very much were still waiting massachusetts that theyre saying it might be a classic case we have Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren splitting the vote there. And somebody like joe biden could run up the middle here. But its way way too early to tell. Its one of those states that obviously carries with it a lot of delegates. Ninetyone, about the fourth biggest prize of the evening. But for joe by the real story as well joe biden. He isnt back from being dead and counted out. Neil alright and the super tuesday we have a peek at looking in the future im not tying this into the events here or perceives slowdown slowdown, or stumble from Bernie Sanders, a friend of the financial community. I think he would feel the same way about them. The fact that he has having potentially a bumpy night are the joe biden is suddenly doing better, biden is being simply more moderate or excepting of the financial community. In this cast of characters writing for the democratic nomination. Moderate is just trillions of tax hikes of the next ten years. Leaving that aside, its a very good night for Stock Traders after being pounded alone earlier purred will have a read on the asian market shortly. This is not an exclusive event its hot and cold response to the coronavirus pretty much on the trade talks, the Better Things look when the sink stabilizing, the better for stocks the worse it looks as cdc comment of possible pandemic and the president during the eight ball on this the worst looks for stocks. Thats a whole another sort of thing at play here. Of the 14 primary states up for grabs tonight as we go we are rolling through some of these asian markets of their beginning to come in. We can safely report on seven states, and colorado that have gone for Bernie Sanders and joe biden North Carolina alabama oklahoma virginia tennessee. Were still waiting to hear from maine, massachusetts, arkansas, texas, minnesota, and then of course at 10 00 p. M. We get utah. But again on these earlier states, the close earlier, again too close to call. Jonathan hunt the joe biden headquarters. Jonathan im thinking of the complete turnaround in this mans campaign. He was the dead man walking before South Carolina. He wins it in the landslide gets two out of three american votes is been the wind at his back ever since. Anyway you look at it neil represents an extraordinary surge for the former Vice President joe biden and his Campaign Stop telling us telling us they are thrilled at the way it has played out so far. They are very optimistic about texas. We are obviously waiting for the results to be called there but they are feeling good, they are feeling a court of them talk into our stuff with them right now that they could pull out a win there. That would obviously be hugely significant. The second biggest prize of the night. And certainly a state senator sanders was confident a few days ago of winning. Then of course we get california, polls close here in about an hour and 14 minutes. Expect the Vice President to be out here addressing this crowd before the polls right i get the sense that he is waiting to see how texas plays out before he steps onto that stage. That will define how he portrays the night. Certainly though, this has been a very good night for the former Vice President. And now he is looking at how well he does in california. His staffers say they are cautiously optimistic what cautious optimism representing californias hard to say. But it could be a strong second they would feel very good about given how far ahead Ernie Sanders was in all the polls we are seeing how much stronger his grand game has been in california. How many more appearances he has made in california than joe biden. So if they were to get a strong secondtier, and you think neil, just a few days ago we were talking about how the moderates on this nomination race could split the vote to such an extent here in california that none of them might reach the necessary 15 threshold to get any delegates. Will that has certainly been blown out of the water now and joe biden certainly looks on course to pick up a good number of delegates here and obviously a lot of delegates across the country. We talked about that center lane all the time, well joe biden is speeding down it right now pretty much full speed limit. Neil well put jonathan, thank you very much. We are getting a report that the Campaign Manager for Michael Bloomberg, kevin is saying they are examining and reexamining the campaign constantly reevaluating for this in response to an nbc report that bloomberg reassesses campaign tomorrow. Others have been emailing me from outside the campaign saying its all about how many 15 as we get. By 15 with how much it a minimum they reach that threshold. The threshold which you can get delegates. They fall under that comet state after state. Right now they have been over 15 other states have been under 15 right now the former wisconsin governor mike walker. That would be a decision. If you followed a 15 or not. Member john hasek there is a lot of talk from the case at camp all the way leading up to the convention that he was hoping for the same sort of scenario. That he would amass where he and the end only got his home state of ohio, didnt have close contest elsewhere to get delegates elsewhere. Neil but thats winner takes all. Thats even more in the situation here weve got to give the above the 15 , theres one half a billion reasons why he should be reassessing this campaign. Statements you heard earlier the statements of a loser. Have a losing campaign thats not going anywhere. So just for his own sake and his supporters sick. I think even though others were saying earlier hes got to get out. I think that you have klobuchar booted check get out signal that this is a contest between Bernie Sanders and joe biden he is still going to have a rough road with how the scandals, his son and others out there. This is by no means a foregone conclusion but it has been a good night for joe biden on the pathway its coming back to being a nominee. Neil its to someone apportionment lay go to the primary. After primary amass that 1991, its the same individuals are still in the race, by summertim summertime, its tough, no matter what you say. Kennedy is exciting for people who cover politics but its really rough for the party. And Michael Bloomberg has been doing his own math, he spent 55 million in california alone. Neil and thats just a win on the first ballot . Kennedy he knows that he knows he got into the race late 90s patting himself on the back. Neil but what if he denies joe biden for the first ballot . Neil of course thats why he got any didnt have confidence and joe biden, no one did. And i frankly dont think bidens campaign was run very well. You talk about the shift in the last 72 hours, somethings happened to joe biden as well. The confidences been very good, but obviously the people are pulling the levers and said to him this is exactly what you have to do. You have to stop making gaffes you have to stop free styling and you are on the stent because you are only hurting yourself. And so i think they are acting like hes lock it up. Neil hes doing something right he just picked up arkansas right now. You think about that guy this is something that continues were thanks to strong africanamerican vote, again that is something he can rely on and extend the appeal. Im looking at all this, greg, were showing the futures market before the stocks running up, i understand wall street not excited of the prospect of a Bernie Sanders is the nominee, one step short of becoming president. But it are they that much better off with the joe biden . I think most people would tell you that they prefer bloomberg from a market standpoint. Certainly better than a bernie presidency to the point youre discussing this interesting to me there is been no endorsement from obama. Liz but he wouldnt do that until the end right . Kennedy why not see mecca gets more valuable every day. If were going where it looks like were going to nobody on the first ballot or brokered convention or however that turns out, theres a lot of value to that. And its a game changer, franklys far as i am concerned in terms of who gets it. But the market, neil, when the market is correct, when they need to correct, sellers just have whatever excuses they have. Coronavirus is an excuse. We are what . 5 or 7 off the alltime record high . And people are losing their minds. The dow is at 206,000 and thats the thing. Sac coronavirus, thats a problem. There will be real impacts, but the market needed to correct. It was at a level where most people that i know, that follow it. Neil you dont get a feeling theres more to this virus thing thats worrisome . Thats a real thing, we are feeling the effects now already its very hard to quantify but a stock market perspective its funny to me because stocks like amazon are getting thrown out like the baby going out with the bathwater. If you really think about thats a stock that should do well and nobody wants to limit. Kennedy there making some much of those masks. You got on the like 60 bucks apiece . Neil were waiting for utah at 10 00 p. M. 11 00 p. M. Polls close in california. So far in this race we have eight states and if you want to know joe biden will be winning six of the eight and the contests of farid sam crazy im not crazy i just told you. Well be right back. So care for it. Look after it. Invest with the expertise of j. P. Morgan, either with an advisor or online, through chase. After all, its yours. Chase. Everyone is really excited for you because it was such a great highfive. And then. The boss comes in. And she wants one too. Geico. Fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on Car Insurance. Neil all right polls just closed in utah. State where 29 delegates, but i wanted to tell you where we are in futures market. You are welcome. Take a look at futures. Up better than 300 points, a lot might be on heels of a report we had earlier on fox business, we were discussing it on my afternoon show, picking up steam with some whispers on fox news. One thing talked about beside coordinated central bank intervention. Was talk that world bank would step in help out. Now we get details of world bank has. Announced immediate financing to help country deal with this particularly disadvantage countries. This is immediate and will be dispensed immediately, on heels of our own Federal Reserve. Cuts Interest Rates a half point, a lot of good that did. But, yet another state, tipped its way to joe biden camp. In case you are keeping track. This is 7th one of the 14 primaries today. Minnesota goes for joe biden, Amy Klobuchars state. It is interesting that for joe biden, with minnesota, high picked up arkansas, tennessee, alabama, oklahoma, virginia, North Carolina. For Bernie Sanders, thus far home sa state of vermont and colorado, there are a couple biggies were waiting for, they include maine, and massachusetts. Too close to call. Were also trying to get some clarity out of california. Later tonight that is a big one with 415 delegates, Edward Lawrence following it, he is hat berniat Bernie Sanders headquar, where is it in vermont . Not burlington . Reporter we told that Bernie Sanders is in the building now. The crowd here expecting him to speak any moment. Were seeing folks fill in back on the stage. And other activity, senator Bernie Sanders hoped to have a big night, they are focused on texas. Y thithey are looking for updatn where texas stands. They are hopeful for california. They believe that those two states will sort of propel the campaign to go forward. Hoping for a good showing in massachusetts and maine. Interesting to note in 2016, Bernie Sanders did a little bit better than tonight atthispoint. In 2016, he had won oklahoma, and South Carolina. That could be seen as maybe antiHillary Clinton vote, that is not happening this time. But this campaign, has significant ground game, and they are utilizing it, in california. To try to get that big, big prize. Back to you. Neil all right. I apologize. Still waiting for Bernie Sanders there. Panelists joining me, my buddy kennedy, jerry baker and lee carter, lee. How is this sorting out in your eyes for joe biden. I wonder, had he not had successful saturday in South Carolina would this be happening. No, it would not be. Not only did he need South Carolina, other candidates need to look at their polling and realize there was no path for them to get there, Amy Klobuchar and mayor pete had to say it will be tough, only chance is a brokered convention, the fact he pulled everyone together, said come down, to texas. And endorse me, well be on the same page that was a big deal. Because we saw that voter right now, what i forget 55 made their decision in last 24 hours, who they would vote for that is unbelievable, they have been running for a year, they are just now deciding, that tells me that support for joe biden is soft, he needs to earn it. People say his campaign was dead just a few weeks ago, now still the same lousy campaigner, i dont mean to disparage him but it did not change. He got more disciplined in his public remarks, a little bit less adlibbing. Thursday . Not so well then. He was more disciplined. But, there was a rallying around. And who would stop sanders, after bloomberg disastrous debate performance it would not be bloomberg. Not klobuchar or buttigieg, so biden gets antisanders vote. Biden is having a good night, it is ironic for sanders, he could end up winning two biggest states texas and california. Neil Bernie Sanders now addressing supporters in vermont. He won his home state, he is very competitive. Right now. In that massachusetts in maine, and texas. BErnie Sanders [applause] thank you, vermont. [cheers and applause] you know its a funny thing, 31 years ago today we won the mayor oramayoral race in burlington, vermont. And we have won that race against all of the odds, everyone said it cant be done. And when we began this race for the presidency, everyone said it could not be done. [cheers and applause] but tonight, i tell you, with absolute confidence, were going to win the democratic nomination. [cheers and applause] and were going to defeat the most dangerous president in the history of this country. Were going to win bernie, bernie, bernie. Were going were going to defeat trump because we are putting together an unprecedented grassroots, multigenerational, multiracial, movement. It is a movement which speaks to the working families of this country who are sick and tired of working longer hours for low wages, and seeing all new income and well go to the top 1 . It is a movement which says the United States will have healthcare for all as a human right. It is a movement that says we will bring major reforms in education, making sure that all of our kids can go to College Without coming out in debt. Now what makes this movement unique, is we are taking on the corporate establishment. We are taking on the greed of wall street. The greed of the Drug Companies who charge us the highest prices in the world. The greed of the insurance companies. And given the ex stenna criss of climate change. We are saying to the fossil fuel industry, their shortterm profits are not more important than the future of our country and the world. Were not only taking on the corporate establishment, were taking on the political establishment. Were going to win because of pete understand ipeople understr campaign, our movement which is best positioned to defeat trump. You cannot beat trump with the same old, same old kind of politics. What we need is a new politics that brings working class people in to our political movement. Which brings young people in to our political movement. And which in november will create the highest voter turn out in american political history. Were going to beat trump because this will become a contrast in ideas. One of us in this race lead the opposition to the war in iraq, you are looking at him. Another candidate voted for the war in iraq. One of us has spend his entire life fighting against cuts in social security, to expand social security. Another candidate has been on the floor of the senate calling for cuts to socia social second, medicare and medicaid, one of us led the opposite to disastrous trade agreements which cost us millions of good paying jobs. And that is me. And another candidate voted for the disastrous trade agreement. One of us stood up for consumers and said we will not support a disastrous bankruptcy bill. And another candidate represented the Credit Card Companies and voted for that disastrous bill. So here we are. We have two major goals in front of us. And they are directly related, first, we must beat a president who apparently has never read the constitution of the United States. A president who thinks we should be in on th not a democracy,a movement in our developing of movement of black, white, latino, native american, asianamerican. Gay and straight. Of people who are making it clear every day. They will not tolerate the grotesque level of income in wealth inequality we are experiencing. We will not give tax breaks to billionaires, when a half million americans sleep out on the streets. We will not allow 49 of all new income to go to the 1 . When half of our people live may paycheck to paycheck. I dont know what will happen later tonight. We are doing well in texas rights now. Right now. We won colorado. And im cautiously optimistic later in the evening, we can wins largest state in the country, the state of californ california. But no matter what happens. If this campaign and i dont know what will happen. But if it come out to be a campaign in which we have one candidate who is standing up for working class, and the middle class, were going to win that election. And if we have another candidate who has received contributions from at least 60 billionaires, well win that election. And if there is another candidate in the race, who is spending hundreds and hundreds of millions of dollars, were going to tell him in america, you cannot buy elections. I am excited about where we are, we have come a long, long way. And i want to once again. Thank the great state of vermont and all of the people in this state. Not only for the victory you gave our movement tonight, but for the years and years of love and support you have given me and my family. So vermont, vermont froms bottom of our hearts, thank you all. Very much. Lets go on to the white house. Thank you. Doe[cheers and applause] neil Bernie Sanders. You know celebrating his performance today. Utah, were waiting within his way, he won vermont, but colorado. And utah. Right now. The other states have gone by and large joe bidens way, from virginia, oklahoma, North Carolina, alabama, tennessee, arkansas, minnesota. In case you are county. 7 states for joe biden. Three for Bernie Sanders, were waiting on texas with 228. Massachusetts still too close to call with 91 delegates, maine is proving to be a tough battle, 24. Polls about 43 minutes from closes in state of california, largest prize tonight with 415 delegates. Jonathan hoenig is joining our panel, a little too early to sort out market implications i did notice futures were jumping, i dont know if it has anything to to with fact that Bernie Sanders. Having more of a problematic day than a lot of people thought he would. Right now. Joe biden stands to have a good shot at getting most of the delegates up for grabs, what do you make. Neil, this set the stage into this evening, contest only 18 of stocks were above shortterm moving average, today 350 new lows, when 30 new highs this is a weak market, in interestingly a lot of bank stuck stocks, not some of Bernie Sanders favorite companies, future market opened lower. It was about 100 lower at one point, as joe bidens wins piled up, this future market moved in that direction. This is a joe biden rally. You know Bernie Sanders talks about you know wanting to tear down the system. Future market, they respond to joe bidens wins right now, that is what this rally. Neil you know. One thing that kind of weirds me out on that. Is that joe biden arguably would have a better shot, against a donald trump. And so he could be the bigger threat. Certainly seems to be what markets are saying, but a tremendous turn for biden. Neil absolutely. And just when a month ago they had joe bidens chances about 7 . This evening his chances much of being nominee are 70 , Democratic Party may be not as committed to socialism as we thought. But certainly committed against a bila billionaire, can you imaa worse showing for bloomberg. Democrat set against billionaires but warming up to socalled moderate in joe biden and market likes it. Neil were waiting to hear from joe biden. Jerry maker baker, you can look at this say, the republican in white house, right now, and with his getting his way for Federal Reserve to cut Interest Rates like today. Stock still tanked. Yeah. Absolutely, this is uncertainty about the coronavirus, were in a statement i am sorry, massachusetts. For joe biden. Taking advantage of that battle in the Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren splitting the vote, joe biden sneaks in wins. His eighth primary of the night. No, i think there concern that maybe people are not clear why Federal Reserve has done this, i dont think that the press conference was particularly convincing. Federal reserve will not get people to go out and eat dinner again because. The coronavirus. They dont have a lot i want too get back to massachusetts a little bit. People have been wondering why is Elizabeth Warren staying in race, because she has to defined herself as establishment progressive. And yes that a niche market, she is doing two things, in debates she goes after bloomberg, no wobbling hano oneelse has been e death blows, and in massachusetts she is a great goalie, she is preventing Bernie Sanders from getting 91 delegates in massachusetts. You know he will get a share of them, they all will from what appears to be happening right now. But joe biden is going to win a state he should not win when he is battling someone from massachusetts. Interesting Elizabeth Warren is in third place in or hen state. Joe biden her own state, joe biden, who won first primary, 72 hours ago, now picked up 8 more, no one saw this coming. Vice president given up for dead, he is alive and well, thank you very much. For nothing. This is this is my sister, they switched on me. Still early, but they look good. For those that have been knocked down, counted out, left behind this is your campaign. Just a few days ago, press and pundits declared the campaign dead, then came South Carolina. They had something to say about it. We were told when we got to super tuesday it will be over, will it may be over for other guy, tell that to the folks in virginia. North carolina. Alabama. Tennessee. Oklahoma. Arkansas. Iminnesota. And maybe even massachusetts. It is too close to call. Were still waiting for texas and california, a few other small states to come in. Im here to report were very much alive. [cheers and applause] make no mistake about it, this campaign will send donald trump packing. This campaign is taking off, join us. Sign up, volunteer. Contribute if you can. We need you, we want you, and there a place for this campaign. People are talking about a revolution, we started a movement. We increased turn out. Turn out, turn out for us. That can deliver us to a moment where we can do extraordinary things. Our agenda is bold, progressive, healthcare is afford able and available to everyone in america, we bring drug places down under control with no more surprise billing, assess to aaco hospitals, and access to care. Billions of dollars i promise you cures for cancer. Alingalzheimers and diabetes. And standing up to nra and gun manufacturers. Leading the world to take on the climates change. Im start by rejoining an outfit i help put together, paris climate accord, well move it a long way. Country where equality of education will not depend on your zip code, and triple funding for low Income School district, providing raises for teachers. Full time schools for 3, 4 and 5yearolds and increasing prospects of their success, Free Community college. And significant reduction in cost of going to college in your student debt, if you volunteer you pay nothing. Folks. We can do this. Lets get something straight, wall street didnt build this country, you built this country. The middle class built this country. And unions build the middle class. In neighborhoods we come from were going to go look. Middle class is getting clobbered. Middle class is getting clobbered, too many people in neighborhoods that i grew up in. Getting hurt, badly hurt. And places we come from, many of you come from. Where were raise will. People, they are reason why i am running, a reason i am a democrat in first place. People who build our bridges, repair our roads, keit keep ourr safe, and protect our kids,. Veterans, dreamers, single moms, and by the way, every dreamer have hope, im coming and youre not going anywhere. Well provide a pathway for 11 million citizens, if other guys voted for i dont i wont get going. , iron workers, steel workers, boilermakers, plumbers, these are people who have been forgotten, i agree with you man. The people trump forget, the people i will always remember. That is wher why we need an ecoy that rewards work not just wealth, and bring everyone along, everyone. Regardless of race, and ethnicity, look. Like we did in South Carolina. Like we did in as america today, like well do all the way to white house, look. Is why i was so proud yesterday embraced by Amy Klobuchar. We won minnesota because of Amy Klobuchar. Were doing well in texas because of beto orourke. That is why i was so proud, so proud to have mayor petes endorsement as well. There is the man of character. Intellect and courage. By the way, i was proud to be endorsed by jim clu he is sometg else. Our campaign reflects diversity of the party, the nation, that is how it should be, we need it bring everyone along, we want a nominee who will beat donald trump, but also keep nancy pelosi as speaker of the house. Win back United States senate. Join us. If you want a nominee who is a democrat, a life long democrat, a proud democrat. An obamabiden democrat. Join us. Look, this all starts with revival of decency and honor and character. Trump has fanned the flames of hate and sought to divide us, he has insulted, demonized and actually just the way he talks about people. He has not a single sense of empathy. No compassion. No regard for values that made this country when we are. Not the way you were raised by your moms and dads. He looks at honesty and decency and respect and views it as a sign of weakness, he does not believe were the beacon on the world, he does not believe were all part of something bigger than ourselves, that is why, i said from moment i announced we in battle for soul of america. Folks, winning means uniting america. Not sewing seeds of division, and anger and hate, we have to beat donald trump, we will but we cant become like him, we cannot have a never ending war between the parties, we need a president who can fight, i can fight, but we need this badly badly someone who can heal. Look. We passed obamacare, what president obama and i did, saving american automobile industry, what we did past the violence against women act. That is not enough, this is just the start, we need a president who can heal country, that is what i will do as your president , i promise you. It is about delivering real results for you, family and community, not about me, jill or valerie it about you, paraphrase reach should exceed our grasp. And my reach does exceed our grasp there is no doubt in my mind we can grasp whatever we reach for. I quoted english poet, but now a real poet, an irish poet, history says, dont hope on this side of the grave, but then once in a lifetime, the long tidalwave of justice rises up and hope and history rhyme, we have make hope and history rhyme. There is nothing we cant do. This is about the future, not about the past, about our children and grandchildren, about leading this country, and leading the world once again. Folks, we just have to remember who we are, my lord, this is the United States of america. Time for america to get back up. And once again, fight for the proposition that we hold the truth to be self evident, all men and women are created equal. We say too often in school, we never lived up to the words, until this president we never walked away from it ladies and gentlemen, i believe with every fiber in my being that is who we are, lets get back up, were a decent people, we can believe again, were better than this moment. Were better than this president. So get back up and take back this country. United states of america. Not a single thing we cant do. God bless you, may god protect our troops, thank you, thank you, thank you. Neil a very happy joe biden. With his 8 primary victories tonight, so far, and South Carolina. On saturday, last 72 hours, he has won more contests than he has over last 30 plus years in 3 different runs. For president. That is a astounding development. He saying he is not done, looking forward to see how california turns out, some other consists still contest still too close they include texas and maine, and california. Kennedy, have you been watching this, you are not convinced that biden is putting it together. No, if one thing that president ial politics tell us now, were in post modern era, there are no more rule, having said that, if we for to see big shifts from one administration to next, i think were doing now is may being massive shifts, all about pendulum, if the pendulum were going to swing in opposite direction it would swing for Bernie Sanders, joe biden is not enough of a shift in order to change out of this administration. Particularly during economy flourishing. He just not transformational, Bernie Sanders whether you like him over not, whether you despise his ideas, he is a transformational person, he is a once in a generation you dont think that joe biden could do better against the president than Bernie Sanders . I do not. I think think that Bernie Sanders would have done better against plum President Trump in. I agree with that, i think history of last 50 years, every time democrat pick the establishment candidate, insider with long washington experience they lost. Hillary clinton. John kerr y, al gore, they lost, they pick outsider, someone who offers something new, different, obama, bill clinton they won. Neil their best shot at getting in the more moderate. That is what everyone said in 2016, no way that donald trump could win. Democrats were rubbing their hands in glee. They were scared of jeb, trump was more, outsider, more unusual candidate. And he won, i think i i agree with kennedy. Neil democrat one thing. Barack obama was left of center but not raze lef crazy left of. Center. Right, this is a very temperate move, very moderate move, very much is expected of what democrat do, somewhat of a coronation. No matter what that is what will happen, the events in last 48 hours with klobuchar and mayor pete dropping out, and coming by his side, it is typical of way that democrats behave. Republicans as well, if you look at bob dole, and john mccain and memory, even mitt romney, they were next in line, so they got the shot, but george w. Bush was not the one in line, but he was one who broughten br party together. We should not completesly write Bernie Sanders off yet. Not at all. He could. S western states they are coming in late, he won utah, and colorado, he may win texas, almost certain to win california. Sanders may end up with lead in terms of delegates and there are several more months, we saw joe biden give a speech, with his wife and sister confused. Neil i do that all of the time. There will be i hope they are not watching. You are not running for president. Good thing. Biden, still vulnerable. Neil bring in former dnc chair. Early supporters. Governor is this real whe what e watching this is stunning. What makes me convinced it is real is massachusetts, minnesota, for sure. Those are northern states, they are not southern states, not particularly hefy in africanamerican population, and voting demographic, yet joe biden won, he won oklahoma. An important state to win for someone who feels conservative northern and western states. We won almost all over the map. I never thought he would win massachusetts, Elizabeth Warren, and Bernie Sanders. Senator from massachusetts and senator from next door in vermont. Neil they could have canceled each other out, and opened up a way for him, you right here won. We have you, governor, president is sweeting on this tweeting on this said biggest loser is Mike Bloomberg, his political consultant took him for a ride, he got notion for it but the name mini mike. What do you think . Well, Mike Bloomberg did not do as well as he hoped, but understand, Mike Bloombergs representation exists as most successful, man in america, by being a famous mayor of fabulous mayor of new york city, he did this because he believes that donald trump had to be replaced. You will hear from bloomberg down the road in campaign. You think he should quit . Some people say. I think if he does not do well in california, he should probably think about getting out and supporting joe biden. That is his call. He has that right. He has talked about positive things, and talked about things he would like to do, i think he is a plus, he is serious, he would support Bernie Sanders in every way he could if Bernie Sanders would accept his suppo support. I strong feelings toward bloomberg, i think he is a good guy, given aen t a ton of moneyo charity. He eats pizza like a slob neil. Neil whole pizza thing. Wait have you seen donald trump eat . Neil were not going to that eating thing, i am sorry that kennedy mentioned it. Dont attack my candidate for bad eating habits. Lick your fingers, and eat a half a pizza piece during a coronavirus scare. Neil lets say you get to milwaukee, convention site, and joe biden has most delegates, but not them all. He house not have majority, should we get the nomination . Well. I think it is at that point that rules of parties say, goes to second ballot. Superdelegates can vote, i dont think necessarily the person with the most delegates going in should be the nominee. Whether joe biden or Bernie Sanders . You either have either way. Because, lets assume that person with most delegate lost last 6 primaries in a row. That shows person is losing steam. And you might not want to go with that person in general election. That was bill clinton in 1992. Losing last string of primaries to you know Governor Brown. Nobody but, Governor Brown was not ae serious candidate for presidency. Remember, Bernie Sanders, in 2016, said he didnt think that person with most delegates going in should automatically win. Bottom line, 1991 or bust. Same. They should hold to the themsel. I agree. Neil, let me ask you and panel a question, when is last Convention Second ballot, republican or democrat, what year . 1968. Neil 1924. Was it republicans in . Wrong year. 76 . No. You are not talking about republicans with be abe lin. 1956, stevenson through the selection of Vice President to threw the selection of Vice President to that is a trick question. Whatever. Well let you get away with that. Seriously governor, congratulations and whether he eats pizza correct loly or not. Thank you, sir. Good night for joe biden. Neil very good night. Matt schlapp on this, were told joe biden it probably president s biggest source of concern, you know president well, you heard what he said about Michael Bloomberg, not a good night for mini mike. And saying same about Elizabeth Pocahontus warren. Who do you think if joe biden emerges as nominee. I think our views that candidate before they start acting like a candidate. In joe biden, lunch bucket joe from pittsburgh, pennsylvania, who can really appeal to blue collar voters was something that concerned republicans. Then he announced then he has been acting as a candidate, he did have a good night so far. And he seemed to pull together some South Carolina, but overall. This is a faux pas song, i think there are a lot of republicans like myself who were more worried about joe biden, as he has campaigned, i dont know, i think that Bernie Sanders brings a lot of energy, and consistency and enthusiasm to the democratic ticket, i dont think he is out of this, but joe biden confused his wife and his sister, super thursday never ends. You could say. He is democrats donald trump. Not to disparage the president but as a candidate he had slip ups and faux pass, worse. Voters stuck with him, democratic voters, wartsa all, misstatements and all. , he still is well thoughts of by democratic voters, in a way, does he have the trump affect going for him . Look, i dont think so, i dont think there is a comparison between a guy who has been an elected representative since he was 28 years old, now you know almost 80. I dont think that there is comparison between that and a first time candidate who captures presidency, true donald trump did not know a lot about government. He made errors im talking about a lot of big mistakes. Beyond politics. Yet he got election elected. When republicans pile on joe biden for all obvious reasons, maybe some should look in mirror at candidate who sits in white house now. Right. I guess, i would say, this, donald trump captured a spirit, in Republican Party. Neil you are right. We kept nominating the guy who look like they should be president. They alike they should be president , but we were fearful when they got the nomination, it backing away from core prince pehls, donald trump principles, gone donald trump saw a huge gap between what base of party wanted and what was happening, he stepped in said i could do that and deliver. I think comparison with bloomberg, another billionaire, only difference that bloomberg thought my gosh if trump can do this, i can do this Michael Bloomberg just demonstrated to everyone, you cant buy it, it harder than this looks. Neil you are right. A lot harder than it looks. Thank you, mr. Appreciate it. Thank you. Neil check off all of the boxes they dont necessarily get the prize. Does not look like what democrats are doing what many people wanted republican to do in 2016. Establishment. They would never pull out in a way that buttigieg and klobuchar did. Establishment is rallying around the candidate they believe has best chance of beating donald trump, become to what kennedy said, and matt said there is an outsider quality that is appealing to voters, i think saying we really need right now we need someone who has been a fixture of washington for 50 years, who has in that time, to be honest, trump will go after him for this been wrong as bob gates said to pretty well every single Foreign Policy issue he has faced. A you can go to civil war if you want. Right. He was wrong about that. A long track record with biden of policies, that many people think have this country into the mess it has been in. Neil that would come out in a general election. BErnie Sanders talking about voting are for trade agreements and immigration pretty well open borders, not a if you backtrack on that you are a hypocrite, and that is joe bidens that could be his biggest problem, if you try reverse yourself, on those positions, people dont like hypocrisy that is why Kamala Harris is out of the race, and Elizabeth Warren droppedo much, they have big proposal they had to reverse themselve, and Elizabeth Warren would not say how she would pay for something. The thing that has me so confused, i feel like support for biden is not strong, over 50 of voters made their mind up in last minute. We have extreme support, for sanders, yet, when you look at voter turn out it record high, you look in virginia, over 1. 1 million turn out 91 reporting in 2008 with barack obama it was 900,000, we have a lot more people voting, that suggests to me there noren more enthusiasm, is that just that antitrump, that is enough . Usually that is not enough. That has been joe bidens platform, he said, i am guy who can beat trump. They all say that. He does not have massive policy proposals that you can put your finger on. Neil anything can change. We mentioned in race now spin rifting news in california. Interesting news in california, Voting Centers remain open for those who got in line before 8 p. M. But, heavy voter turn out, that. BErnie Sanders folksur are urgi, thats must vote. And l. A. County, voting authorities agreeing, you are in line you are voting. Quick thing about california, they allow mail in ballots. Neil you could have mailed it in today. However it has to arrive within 3 days. By friday. We could not know california, we dont want nu actual numbers. Neil you are not saying well be here until friday. I am game it you are. Neil bring in the food. Can vote for democrat, g. O. P. Has a close primary. Neil all right. California 415 delegates at stake. It could go on past 8 00 in l. A. Keep in mine, 40 of californians have voted. And that was before the South Carolina primary that turned it all around for joe biden. Think of that and these states where there is a lot of eerie voting, texas lot of early voting, texas. Numbers that joe biden is stacking up, are coming even with it was his precome back big win in South Carolina. Either Bernie Sanders did not get as many votes as people thought in early voting, but he more than joe biden, making up with realtime, either way it a fascinating evening, and former Vice President , one that is seeing his success in ways that he has neff experience never experienced in three different bids for highest office in land. More after this. When i lost my sight, my biggest fear was losing my independence. Mmm. Good. So ive spent my life developing technology to help the visually impaired. We are so good. We built a guide that uses ibm watson. To help the blind. It is already working in cities like tokyo. My dream is to help millions more people like me. They get that no two people are alike and customize your car it is already working in cities like tokyo. Insurance so you only pay for what you need. What do you think . I dont see it. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. To be our guest. With an invitation. The invitation to lexus sales event now through march 31st. Lease the 2020 rx350 for 409 a month for 36 months and well make your first months payment. Experience amazing at your lexus dealer. Its more than just fast. It keeps all your devices running smoothly. With builtin security that protects your kids. No matter what theyre up to. It protects your info. And gives you 24 7 peace of mind. That if its connected, its protected. Even that that petcamera thingy. [ whines ] can your internet do that . Xfinity xfi can because its. Simple, easy, awesome. [ barking ] neil all right, reason why they call is super tuesday, not only stufjust states, 14 but delegats involved, about 2 3 what you need. A couple minutes away from polls closing in biggest enchilada of them all, california. Polls in los angeles, they are keeping them open until they are in line. Standard procedure. California special, the newsom effect so annoying, homeless have to get provisional ballots. Neil understood. Bob cue cusack with us. Shaping up to be quite a night for joe biden. What do you make of what he has amassed tonight. This is unbelievable. I was thinking going into tonight that if joe biden fought to a draw that would be a win, because he would still be in this race. He has knocked sanders down, not out. Sanders came in night as frontrunner, you can make argument that biden is now certainly we have a long way to go, next week, michigan, washington state, big states that sanders won. 4 years ago. But this is just a stunning night for joe biden. Neil you know, you are right. 352 delegate at stake in idaho, michigan, mississippi, missouri, north dakota, washington state, a lot up for grabs then, after this, we have arizona, florida, illinois. To your point, a long way from done, think about this contest how they could draw roughly even, if someone like in Elizabeth Warren stays in race, and ive op siphons some sanders support we could see sanders and biden arrive in wisconsin, split, right . Yeah. And biden i think that bloomberg is probably not going to be in race for much longer, a rough night for him, warren i dont know. She has policies that are similar to Bernie Sanders, but she has not en into fight with him gotten into this fight with him in campaign trail they have clashed, where she goes is one to watch, she could stay in for a while. Shy has money to do it. Neil and she has a invested interest on part of those who are no fans of her but want to see jobe i dont know win to jon race. Pressure will be on bloomberg from biden supporters and establishment in washington that like biden. Mod yeahmoderate democrats who o washington are breathing a sigh of relief, there is no pressure to get warren out, she takes away votes from him, i think most interesting decision is what warren does over next two weeks to a month. Neil um. Do you think there will a brokered Co Convention . After tonight, it is 60 percent it will note. I thinked b joe biden has momenm this is politics, joe biden is not a great debater, he will probably have to go oneonone in a day bait late did debate we sanders, and Bernie Sanders will be under attack like never before. Neil lee, how would that go. That would be fun. Two angry men yelling at each other. And i dont know how well bernie yells more. Bernie just talks and monthe monotone like this. Neil that is very good. Thank you very much. However, it will be like wwe, meeting cocoon. Kinky and dirty and you are going down brother. It will be extraordinary. Two things. Biden will get a huge influx of money after tonight. Probably bloomberg will be out, and wall street crowd have been backing blurring bloomberg, nowl support biden. Now california comes in we can say biggest prize in tonight will about to Bernie Sanders what yes he wins california. Come on, man. Not a surprise. But surprise we call it already. I love our methodology. 3 votes and say based to these 3 votes. Blindfolded guys throwingsca ghettspa ghetto the wall. Spaghetti on the wall. This is biggest price prize of night that goes to Bernie Sanders. That is what you need to look at. All those voters in line just withijust went home. They are factored in. Important say they in line, this is 415 Electoral College votes that is a big number. You need 1991 total that say big percentage. They need to go into the convention. Every vote here counts, a very important thing. As much as we talk about a big night are in biden, this is a big win for Bernie Sanders. Huge, 20 of night to Bernie Sanders. Neil how much is aportion the to senator, Edward Lawrence, at Bernie Sanders headquarters, you want that one. We dont know how it breaks down. Lets say. These two by and large, they split the night. Anyou have two guys running arod with you know potentially 600 or 700 delegates each, that is an interesting split. Edward . Reporter very interesting split. That california could be state that pushes senator Bernie Sanders above joe biden, again. On the end of super tuesday. That say very big get for him. And that something that they really wanted in this room this room looks different from when we last saw us about 30 minutes ago, there was a frenzy here in the tone was deafening here. For thousands of people who were here from moment that senator Bernie Sanders took the stage. In his speech he talked about movement he was creating, he could beat President Trump. We need a movement in our developing of movement of black, white, latino, native american, asianamerican, and gay and straight. Of people who are making it clear every day they will not tolerate the grotesque level of income in wealth inequality were experiencing. Reporter you heard that crowd, deafening, senator sanders never mentioned by name, former Vice President joe biden or bloomberg. But he did say in his speech, you cannot buy an election, he said same old politics will not beat President Trump, the crowd young, very enthusiastic. And again, senator seemed tofied off that enthusiasm which something he said he needs to kept going to get moment tomb win th momentum to win the nomination. Neil 4 states for Bernie Sanders, with california, utah, colorado, vermont. For joe biden, virginia, oklahoma, massachusetts, North Carolina, alabama, tennessee, arkansas, and minnesota. 8 states for joe biden. 4 for Bernie Sanders right now. Were still waiting on texas and maine. We have been keeping a look at texas because this is a remarkable one, if sanders were to pick up texas he would have two biggest prizes in of the night that would be california and this one. That one is close in maine. Too close. Where Vice President , former Vice PresidentBernie Sanders are almost split even. 36 to 34 . John hope to bjonathan hunt, the california. But again, no matter how you arthritislice it a surprisely sg night for joe biden. Reporter yeah. It is i think will be no surprise to know that Bernie Sanders going to win california. Margin of victory is really what matters. It is a proportion allocation of delegates, this evening biden team said they were cautiously optimistic about california, that really always focused on a strong second place, rather than winning it given huge advantage that senator sanders has had in term of his ground game here and number of appearances he made in state, we heard from a fired up porter Vice President former Vice President saying just a few days ago everyone was declaring his campaign dead, then he said tell that to the people of alabama, tell that to people of tennessee, tell that to people of North Carolina. And so ohe within on to say, that he went on to say she is a man who can defeat President Trump, he said we need a man who can defeat president , and said we need a nominee who is a democrat, a reference to senator sanders, bouabide en team, very biden team very happy with how night has been othey will look at the allocation of delegates here in california. And they still hope neil that they could yet pentium out a vick pull out a victory in texas. Thank you very much. Neil and california, always safely democratic state. Texas second biggest you know draw for delegates, always considered safe republican territory that is increasingly in doubt of late. Lee carter, it looks like even if Bernie Sanders takes texas. Preliminarily maine were talking a draw. Right. Neil we dont know how it is aportioned out, to the draw surprise for joe biden. He is now stalling momentum of a guy still putting in a good night, but not the sweep that more than 72 hours ago looked like a given. Right, because of the proportional delegates this is not a huge sweep, you looking at a split in california, with exit polls. Maybe threeways. This is not huge numbers we were talking about earlier. It had to have been a devisive victory for him to get numbers he needed for us to say bernie is a force to be contended with biden is having a big night, but it still math w we have to do. California, critical to watch how well bloomberg and warren do, exit poll has bernie up 15 over biden. With maybe Elizabeth Warren 15 but not bloomberg, bernie will be hoping that neither of those two ends up viable, his share of delegates will be that much they did it by Congressional District there. If warren can get 15 statewide. Then she will take a lot of delegates away that could have been to Bernie Sanders. If she gets that and lets say bloomberg gets that that 45 delegate each for them. If not more, depends on how close former Vice President is, you know, they are splitting maybe, you know 300 delegates. Right. Split the sanders anded by en will biden will come out close tonight. It could be more or less. Neil i am justing i justing adn my head. You get 15 of 420 delegates, you can make the case that it does keep the race going on longer. Not only that, but also raises probability there will be a brokered convention, which of these two men who are most likely to remain standing are going to give up th the mantle, they are not, they are not only fight for presidency but soul of Democrat Party. And Bernie Sanders is fighting to reshape our entire political system. So, his supporters have more invested in this race, than they did in 2016, when he was considered a long shot. And nothing is going to keep him out. But you talk about people who dropped out, i still dont understand if Pete Buttigieg and Amy Klobuchar were given carrot or the stick, a lot of people said they were promised big things, i dont think either one was promised vice presidency. I think you said they thought maybe longer term career. Absolutely not, no way, not before super tuesday, if you think you run free world, most important person on plan it, and nothing will keep you from that. At least see how the heck you would do. I think i dont know about, that i think for mayor pete it was a easy call. Because he was not going to do well in super tuesday, he was low. Neil why not take your chance. You could gain cre credit wih joe biden. He has thrown his support at a critical moment. He carries more weight like Chris Christie did for trump. Calculated move on buttigiegs part it may pay youve. Neil what do you think . I think it was, right move for mayor pete at the time, in his brand po say h to say he wio right thing. Neil kennedy, seems to there was a push . No there is some level of force here, and even if they say, dont worry about joe, he is not running things were running things. Were the people behind the curtain, who knows who those people are, maybe is nancy nanct nancy pelosi and Chuck Schumer going going there something not right about you, but i cant. If you thought it was winner take all, who would be sanders would be doing very well. Very well. Yeah, he would get california. Neil and take texas. And end up with a clear majority of delegate at. Neil irony was borne from last contest, sanders fell it was not reflective of his strength now it hurting him. Whole process will hurt him. There is still a lot to go, and joe biden and Bernie Sanders, are going to be in this for long haul. If Elizabeth Warren drops out. Neil you think this bloomberg is not . I dont think he is. Neil to that point, Charlie Gasparino reports that bloomberg is cutting back to ad buys, suggesting he is either dialing it back. Conversation about bloomberg going in very much rumor was if no path for biden or a moderate to get there he would jump in, now there is a path, i would not be surprised if he said i am out, my support behind biden. 170 million in super tuesday. Bloomberg he spent so far but it disproves acxiom that more money spend the more votes you buy. It has not happened tonight, it did with Hillary Clinton. She did win popular vote in 2016 she outspent donald trump 2 to 1. Neil some delegates. Horse shoes and hand grenades. His strategy was a brokered convention. If he has 150 delegates, out of 4,000, then it is unlikely they will turn to him. Neil those two . Sanders anded b biden could cancel each other out. They could, but they will have a a look at who supe super dell delegates are. Over 700. Bloomberg has been trying to buy there are support. Their support, he buying everyone a pony, he is promising these people people that are lessening t listening to show saying why is he buying everyone a component. People run for office every two years, they need bloombergy money, and this why sell outs have pledged their support to him. Disgusting neil okay. Not going there. Well take a break. More than 3 hours ago, those states are one were waiting to hear from. Were not hearing yet. Deirdre bolton has been looking at texas right now. And specific counties that make it difficult to get since of who won. Reporter right. Well call up graphics, you can see, i will take you to where austin is. In heart of travis county. This is kind of a mini Silicon Valley. Dell, and ibm and apple, it is progressive, and leaning hard to sanders. If we go back out and come all over here and look at some areas, Bo Mont Beaumont in jefferson count, you have energy industry, more blu blue collar t goes toward biden, all the way over west, el paso, congressman beto orourke, he endorsed joe biden. Leaning hard to sanders. But you see bloombergs name, his photo. Bloomberg had 19 offices set up in texas, joe biden 4. As far as bang for buck biden has been leaning on conditional support congressional suppo support. Still, he stays over 15 now. He will get something. Yeah. 19 officer ryabkov thank. Kasi thank you for joining us, what do you make of what you are watching on democratic side. Well i think that choice will be between a democrat socialist or candidate who has embraced all of the policies, either way, we think we have a great record of results from President Trump. That will be a great choice for American People to make come november, we feel confident it will be a victoryius night for President Trump and the republicans. Neil i got feeling that president s biggest worry of joe biden. Worry was joe biden. There is nothing that shows joe biden has become a good strong candidate. Sit, aside his gaffes. He never gotten more than 1 of vote, president has been voaball about that. I think you see democrat say, who can we stomach, with socialist we dont want, never really liked joe biden, dont really think he is our best option but he is one we got. In terms of what were seeing, just tonight president continues to have a good night. But also, you look down ballot republicans are united, for our purposes and were doing at rnc, were looking at how can we get strongest possible ballot of republicans to make sure he has good people in washington to help him usher in more policies. With democrats they for a hype of trouble, with either one of these guys at top of the ticket that will force all other candidates down ballot to say, are you with a socialist. Neil joe biden and Battle Ground state, he polls well. We dont know you are right. Expanding to me colleagues here, jerry baker, wall street journal report, so much more. I was thinking, a lot coming to california. If we if exit pole pol poll , bloomberg gets a hand for and Bernie Sanders wins heavily, he could end up 19 delegates over joe biden in california, that is very quickly is roughly the same as total net delegate that biden will win in virginia, North Carolina, tennessee and alabama combined. We have been focusing in early part of night on eastern states. And scouso southern states, bere become in with a big win in california, with a and win a sizable share of delegates this. Will make him at least competitive, may end up with bernie ahead. Neil what do you think lee . Interesting, if it is that competitive, well have a continued we have to everyone has to absorb the new joe biden. Is he new joe biden or old joe biden, joe biden has to make his case and be a strong candidate. Neil not been a very compelling candidate. He has not, he has to do Something Different from what he as done, not just leaning on Congressional District and endorsements, he has to get people excited. Bernie can make case that establishment is against him, get people excited in his base. Were seeing right now, young people turn out tonight, some things i have seen in exit polling is not what i think Bernie Sanders hoped it would be, but that could change. If he gets people excited. Neil they want to win, all about want ing to win. Wanting to win, they think that joe biden is their best shot. We have gotten to an argument not what you think, but clear party is rallied around joe biden. To do that. Yes, he said himself, the other night, he is their last best hope. And atthispoint, he is. They fight to maintain the status quo. Really one of last election they will be able to do that. Before you see a massive generational shift. Not surprising that Younger Voters are going for Bernie Sanders. Because, there is a fullblown indocindoctrination in collegesd universities, that is just the way it is, that is you know i would to college late, i went in my 30s and graduated in 2005, in his math class they were talking about marx. That not the place to talk when that inial class. Democrat have to decide if they will vist in a nice guy, or in someone who wants to turnover the apple cart. I went to college, carl america marx was a graduate student. Neil his take on it, a race that is still to close to call in texas and maine, but california has gone for Bernie Sanders, after this. Sorry hes a baby neil all right, a tall tale ofo different political nights, early neat nominate by joe biden, stacking up a primary wick aftewinafter another, a to. And Bernie Sanders clinging to vermont, colorado, then added utah, then third minutes ago. California. Was going to Bernie Sanders. We dont know how all this will go to be portioned out. We know, former nixon speech writer, capitalist code author, ben stein. His read on evening. Ben, i guess shock not so much that Bernie Sanders won california. But that he is in fight of his life across the country suddenly with joe biden. The fact that this night is happening is amazing, that joe biden is coming along as strong as he has after being mocked and belittled treated like he was hafthalf way dead, a zombies thn comes back as a leader is amazing. Sanders who is a screaming maniac for most of campaign and had a heart attack coming up on top, just a truly amazing, and Democrat Party is socialist party and very good chance of winning as the american socialist party. Is astonishing. The electorate has changed. Just monument alley in last couple years. Neil what do you make of ben, what even bernie forget Bernie Sanders. But bloomberg . 19. 3 in second right now in california. I make of it fact he has been running a hic heck of a lotadse seems to have positioned his ads well, people are likely voters are watching tv. He he has done smart media buys, but you cant buy likability, or lovability, he is just a brilliant guy, i am sure but a cold fish. And somehow in california, we dont like coal fish. Cold fish, we like nice warm fish, we have a lot of fish off of the shore, we dont need colder ones. Neil Bernie Sanders, you know. Not warm and fuzzy. He is a he is not warm, he is redhot, burning up with anger and rage. Neil i see. Lives on fumes of rage from his various past lives, he has a lot of anger build up in him in frafrom something that must have happened in childhood. He a communist. One thing that i found nas fascinating, you are a speech writer, sanders is only one with a message, all others are antitrump what are they about. Yes you talk about feelings that people are evoking but who will tell a story to get American People excited going to wenjian. I think this mr. Joe biden could pull his words together and arrange them in the right way, they have been in the dictionary for a long time, but no one has arranged them quite right. And ber bernie has some abilityo do, that even the words dont make sense to me, they are socialist nonsense, but to some may make sense, a guest said that younger people in america have been brought up to believe that socialism is a good thing, that is paying off, and crows are returning to nest and befoulinbefouling the nest withd poopoo. And you say jobe jeb ha joe n issue with words. He is thank you ben, those were my words. And it is very unfortunate, i think that is why you see people tragic he did not know who said them. He is listening to my words. Im not getting retn back here. You cant hear us . I hear you but i cant see you. I knew we are like this. Were in black dresses, and were looking solid, feeling it, ben. And than thanks to you and wu so cohesively ahead out night, and i think you you say so much about california, california really is frighteningly leading country in terps of itterms of slide identt cliff. This is first time california mattered in a primary. Neil there that. Will be could be almost decisive. That is which has it has escalated. Ben, Ronald Reagan is last republican to win california. George h. W. Bush . I think he did. Republican will win again, hispanic vote will turn out to be republican. Their family oriented people. What do you think will happen in california, last time 1988 . Been a while . I dont know when. But it will happen. State is not staying permanently level wing, college students, cal state berkeley left wingers, not staying like that forever. There will be a revolution start in orange county. And it will yeah. Right on right on power to the people by the way. Ben, you you are a good read of the economy, a lot of people look at what is go nothing in coronavirus. With the fear gripping the world, and market, and all that stuff. Would not see it in future activity. But, is this going to be a problem for President Trump. You know only thing that could slip things up is recovery falters or market, how legitimate a worry is that. Very legitimate, this terrible thing, really act of god, as a friend of mine calls it happened, but who else do we blame, god is not on ballot, only person on ballot in charge is mr. Trump. He will get blamed, he better get on the ball and start announcing plans every day, every single day, he has to become i have a plan equivlynn of senator warren. And that to have a plan every day to do something about this virus. Neil are you saying he is not doing that effectively right now. Not enough otherwise market would not have gone down 700 today. Neil okay that is a good point, i am done with you, ben thank you. Thank you. Neil i feel bad you cant see us, but i too am wearing a black dress. Thank you. You are our diana ross. Neil he so good, i love ben. Were waiting for maine, and waiting for texas. And i think to this night we predicted this is where we would be. More after this. But you do sell investments that earn you high commissions, right . We dont have those. So, whats in it for you . Our fees are structured so we do better when our clients do better. At Fisher Investments were clearly different. Neil today we started night that california would be one we would wait for. That was decided almost from moment polls closed. We concluded it was Bernie Sanders. And that bloomberg would grab second. We did not maybe some did. Texas would drag out. And still the case. We can not declare that one way or the other even with more than half of the vote in, maine another one too close to call. But of the 12 remaining primaries. Tonight 8 have gone to joe biden. And 4 to Bernie Sanders. It is almost even split if you look at delegates likely. But not exactly, Bernie Sanders, vermont, colorado, utah and california, and joe biden will be going through this. Virginia, oklahoma, massachusetts, North Carolina, alabama, ti tin tennessee, arkansas, minnesota, there will be a quiz. Jonas, look at this said, cliburn announced his support for joe biden, with just you know, a couple days to spare, it changed it. He picked up africanamerican vote in South Carolina. That carried him to this day, this night. He is now picked up more wins than in his prior runs for president combined. Remark able. It is. You know, this is greatest example that polls do not vote people do. And i have to tell you, African American saved a crashing plane that landed safely on hudson river, joe biden was a goner for so many different people,. I was in South Carolina for ingram show interviewing africanamericans and students across college campuses. Neil that is so weird, i asked you to do the sam same thing, yu said you were busy now i know i would lo love to. I was interviewing these individuals friday, the day before primary, many of those individuals said they were still undecided. Not the older africanamericans but the younger folks, now we see that we look at the early results in from virginia, North Carolina. Alabama. 8 and 10 africanamerican supported joe biden candidacy. And man, it just amazing to me, considering that fact so many africanamericans are supporting him, because some policies in which he has been an architect for. I know people like charlamagne the god, kennedy knows well, talked about quick crack laws and crime bill, i think that is why part of the reason see young caAfrican Americans willing to give Bernie Sanders a shot, i ask older, they say, you know, im willing to forgive him. That tells story older africanamericans, those who south, are more willing to be forgiving versus some of younger folks who are a bit more critical on those policy issues, because they were not around during the time. Neil all right, i thought you were talking about king charlamagne. Pass something that caused a dust up in democratic race. Tweeting out that is what we should be analyzing, i feel confident that united Progressive Movement would have allowed for us to win minnesota. She seems to be citing Elizabeth Warren. Stuck in the race. Right. You know, interesteddingly enough, i think that actually right, look at i believe maine and minnesota in 16, Bernie Sanders, it was a two person race, he did well, now you look at numbers you see Elizabeth Warren, really took a big chunk out of that vote total could have been, because they share a similar base that is a part of the reason why i think probably Elizabeth Warren after tonight she will come to a conclusion and maybe tomorrow or next day or whatever, and actually support Bernie Sanders, that will give him more momentum. In terms of his vote count, he will do better against a joe biden, were seeing this is turning to a two person race. Neil what do you think . There is a special place in hell for women who dont support other women, ilhan. I think she is very aggressive toward Elizabeth Warren, Elizabeth Warren has every right to stay in the race, she has her beliefs, she feels she is following part of Hillary Clintons road map, and Democrat Party is not going to survive this fight for another round, they just they are not, they not have progressives versus moderates against in 2024. They have to make some decisions. And you know she say you ush une behind Progressive Movement it has to be its own party that just the way it is. Two party system is too constraining, we should have a proliferation of beliefs, two sizes dont fit all. I am not sure she is right anyway,. Look at detail, you have bloomberg, he will have more delegate tonight he is dividing moderate votes. If he does go, those voting go to joe biden. I think they cancel each other out, warren and bloomberg. Were still at same place. Neil i know you were at Reagan Library and promoting your book. President of the tweetin of tweg about your book, you make a compelling case that africanAmerican Voters, just might do turn out in bigger numbers for president this go. What do you think . You know, this is what so interesting, were talking about a democratic primary. But i believe considering fact this president has committed to policies not just rhetoric like we have seen with others like joe biden, or even the president former president barack obama himself, had not contributed to policies that created a positive impact for africanamericans this president has, a list of deliverables, we can talk to africanamericans about, and for those who are willing to listen, there are folks who are or interesting in listen to someone who would do something not just talk about this this president can now say this is what i have done after 4 years. Neil giano thank you. Thank you. All right, bloomberg, were told is reassessing his campaign or looking at some cutback in ad buys . What to make of that, after this. The future of awesome. Neil all right, back to my pal, patient and strong, their take on this future markets are up. And you know having somewhat to do with this, maybe this notion that Bernie Sanders is not a lock, is that correct assumption. No, i dont think so, i suspect future markets are moving more on you know people positioning themselves ahead more news on coronavirus. Neil we over did it today. Yes, we did get more number from south korea 500 more cases, there is just uncertainty. I think big message tonight, j joeis real, he had a strong turn around from a week ago. I still think, well see what happens in california. But i dont think that Bernie Sanders is dead. We have a long way to go. And biden is a gaffe machine. And this is going on for another couple months, at least, you dont know what will happen, there will be some consolidation, maybe bloomberg or warren will be out biden has momentum. Can i add to that bidens representation and his numbers took a hit during impeachment. He was tied to ukraine story as was his son, it is interesting, we have not heard anything about hunter biden. That is 100 intentional, i dont think that gaffes, people like their candidate are more forgiving. Neil they will accept them gaffes and all. There is for some reason another ukraine shoe that drops, there might be. It weird, that could hurt joe biden. But i think you are right about futures, investors look to go great, were not stuck with a comelacomplete psychopath. Neil i did not say that. 50 of people made their decision in last 24 hours, people are not so excited about joe biden, they voted for jobe jeb because they think he can win, now he needs to prove he can win. Not sure. They cant be bought by bloomberg money bags. Neil i mean, you know it possible he scores some over 100 delegates in this. I think system has to absorb what happened with joe biden, and decide is this going to continue beyond super tuesday . You are all great. You too kennedy. Outstanding sense of humor all. That comes in handy. We cannot call maine or texas, well continue to look at those, a good night for joe biden. All my guests said, 72 hours ago no one saw this. 72 hours ago they did not see him surviving this night, that was then, look at now. But we need something better.
