the left choosing to rush through a so-called impeachment in the house as they did all in an effort to undo the will of 63 million americans that voted for president trump. all just months, months, right, ahead of an election in which the people would and could and should make the decision for themselves. forget the fact that we have the lowest jobless rate in five decades, forget the fact that he took out the number one and two heads of isis, forget the fact that he's bringing iran finally to its knees by taking out its top terrorist who killed 600 americans all while not hurting any innocent people. that's what the president did. but apparently, that's not allegedly allowed under the democrats because somehow they see that as a assassination according to bernie, according to elizabeth warren. don't get me started on that one. meanwhile, in terms of policy accomplishments, think about it. president trump publicly for the first time in presidential history has demanded china start playing by the rules that govern international trade. none of it gets any credit from the left because the left is so blinded by hate for president trump that the left cannot bring itself to join in on any of the fun, because there's a lot of good stuff happening right now. in fact, the more successful he is on policy, the angrier they become. >> he is a complete failure, a complete failure as commander in chief. he is the most reckless and incompetent commander in chief we have ever had. >> donald trump is a great national security threat. >> what do you call someone who says clearly racist things? this morning the answer is, mr. president. >> the president of the united states is a racist. >> he is a racist. trish: so our economy, our safety, our jobs, they all take a backseat to the political desire to hurt the president. and this tonight, house congressional members on the left are still trying to rewrite the rules in the senate. you know, they've realized they did a really lousy job in the house, and now, now they want to retry the case themselves with more evidence? i mean, heck, you're talking about the same team that's still mad robert mueller didn't get the president first time around. you actually saw guests on cnn today saying, well, mueller must be in poor mental health because, sorry to disappoint, no, the president is not a russian spy. watch. >> he was stumbling over his words. you saw him in july, and his testimony before congress, there were people that i spoke to who are very, very good family friends of his who said i couldn't watch the television anymore, it wasn't the bob i knew. trish: keep in mind they impeached on two articles including obstruction of justice -- obstruction of congress, forgive me, which is completely ludicrous there was never obstruction because he's not obligated as president to give 'em a darn thing. i mean, he is the president, and we have separation of powers, remember? founding fathers, for a reason. these guys are too lazy and too much in a hurry to ever take it to any kind of independent judge. so you know what? that one's a total sham. one big, bogus charge. the other one, abuse of power. that's their opinion. and they never bothered to prove it out. they couldn't subpoena john bolton to testify. he says he was willing. they didn't. because they knew they had no case, and so they rushed this whole thing along. the gao, the general accounting office, their big claim as well, you know, they found something. well, it turns out they found obama's white house violated the law on at least three separate occasions including when the obama white house shelled out money to exchange taliban prisoners for disgraced deserter bowe bergdahl. and did anyone suggest impeachment? no. or how about when the obama administration snuck $400 million in cash to iranians in order to get the iran deal done? did anybody talk about impeachment then? no. and yet the rabid politics of the left right now leaves us where we are tonight, the prime minister's legal team is advicing -- president's legal team is advising that this whole thing get thrown out. watch. >> they have no case. frankly, they have no charge. when you look at these articles of impeachment, they're not only ridiculous, they are dangerous to our republic. they said in their brief we have overwhelming evidence. overwhelming evidence. to impeach the president of the united states. and then they come here on the first day, and they say, you know what? we need some more evidence. if i showed up in any court in this country and i said, judge, my case is overwhelming, but i'm not ready to go yet, i need more evidence before i can make my case, i would get thrown out in two seconds. and that's exactly what should happen here. trish: you know, maybe it should happen, but i, for one, would love to see the alleged whistleblower up there, the alleged leaker, i guess we should say, testify. as well as adam schiff. i'd like to see him and a few others. you know, however, i get what the president's lawyers are saying here too and what they're doing. in other words, how can anyone trust these politicians at this point? >> if the house cannot call witnesses or introduce documents and evidence, it's not a fair trial. it's not really a trial at all. >> a trial without all of the relevant evidence is not a fair trial. >> any senator who votes to deny a witness, who votes to deny evidence is voting to cover up the president's crimes. >> the trial should be fair to the house which has been wrongly debraved of evidence. -- deprived of evidence. trish: i'm sorry, they had their chance. so to come forward now and to ask for this, that and the other? okay, guys and gals, why didn't you just do your job when this whole thing was under your jurisdiction? in your lap? i know and americans know, we know what happened, we know what you did. the left rushed through this entire thing only for nancy pelosi to sit on her heels and debate whether or not to send it to the senate, effectively risking a constitutional crisis. and so now they don't like the evidence they came up with. duh. you know what, guys? you did a shifty job, didn't you? >> well, it's a combination of things, but the main thing is donald trump enlisted them, along with our national guard. he had 25,000 troops and the mexicans. and we're a nation of borders, trish, and in the words of bernie and the other delusional democrats to say to take the walls down -- and i guess he would take troops away from mexico along with it -- trish: well, take the threat of tariffs away, right? i mean, think about it. congressman, mexico had no incentive to stop anybody before. in fact, if anything, they had every incentive to send every mexican they could our way to the united states because of the remittances that would be sent home. it was an economic driver for mexico. >> sure. trish: but then all of a sudden the president says, look, if you don't stop them, you're going to get hit with a 15% tariff on all our your goods coming in. now they're thinking differently. >> what he did, trish, is make consequences. and the tariffs, you're exactly right, consequences if they didn't do that. look at what it's saving this country. the apprehensions of illegals coming across the border has been cut 56% in spite of the democrats' opposition. the billion four that's been allocated is getting the job done. and for them to continue to fight this president is unpatriotic, it's not right. look at the drugs that we're spending, that's coming from mexico. 90% of the fentanyl, cocaine, heroin comes from mexico. and how anybody can take the position that, when facts are there, tom homan says it every time he's on the newscast. they've got facts that verify this. but the democrats are completely delusional and nonresponsive to this. trish: well, it seems to me you want to protect your own people first, right? and by the way, this is not an anti-immigrant thing, right? because before they start on that phony baloney, because they will, this is nothing to do about anti-immigration and everything to do with having an immigration policy that works for our country, that helps our country. right?
