Charles folks, were heading into the final hour of trading, hos shares down more than lowes shares down more than 1 in tandem with home depot. What does this mean when they report tomorrow . You know, the interesting thing is if home depot is not an indictment on the consumer but theyve got some companyspecific issues, in the gap between home depot and lowes is as wide as its ever been. Would a lowes be worth a shot going into the close ahead of earnings, or is it still too much risk . I hate to jump many front of earnings. Home depot, in their forecast, are saying lowes taking on market share. I have to say, look at this, in other times when home depots down, its a conviction on the consumer. But now we have a really nice market, and you dont go to that translation. Other times you wake up with home depot down 5 and the market down 200 points. Theres a disconnect there. Charles if you go back to the last seven quarters before this one, the stock was down five of the last seven. Right. Charles the reaction to earnings has not necessarily been great, and yet the stock came into today at an alltime high. I think itsen one of these names long term, you dont touch the it, do you . No, i dont think so. I hate to buy in front of earnings charles let me ask you target because theyre reporting, the last report the stock was up 21 in the session alone. I took profits that day, it was amazing, it was wonderful. We made 50 on the stock that many people gave up on, and im feeling buyers remorse . Sellers remorse. [laughter] i feel like i should be in target going into the earnings. Theyre executing really well. That was a surprise, a blowout quarter. It gapped higher and just kept going up from there, and i think there was some Short Covering as well. Remember, we said retailers are dead, and by the way, target had about 25 top line growth for online sales, so theyre catching up in that space. Charles these companies, targets, walmarts, theyve been able to perfect the zombie channel thing where you buy stuff, you go pick it up there. Transactions are up and theyve got pricing power. Obviously, some companies dont have it. Kohls is a major loser today, so you still have to be very selective. I think so. To your point, buyers remorse, sellers remorse, theres nothing wrong with putting a stop loss order in. Thats the way i would trade some of these names with a trailing stop loss order.
