Looking at today, four states having elections. In the case what is happening right now in mississippi and kentucky quest for the gubernatorial mansion. Democrats hope to put under democrat control there, pick up two statehouses in the process. Kentucky, virginia, new jersey, mississippi, also have separate legislative elections on top of that. You have a host of propositions being debated and voted on across the country in key proposition measures. What powerful signals can come of today. Politico White House Reporter gabby orr, what she is looking at. What are you looking at . Gubernatorial battles in kentucky and mississippi is front and center. What happens in places like virginia, turn in legislative control of that body. That will be crucial. Absolutely. Neil, pretty much two things im looking at right now. Number of one the kentucky gubernatorial race. How will matt bevin perform in suburban lexington and other rural parts of kentucky . It is important to see whether his support declines in those areas, whether it improves, whether it stays the same. Youre going to see messaging from both republicans at statewide level and democrats at the statewide level, dealing with how he performs in kentucky. Using that to fund raise, energize their own bases as we head into a president ial election contest next year. The other thing im looking at of course virginia and new jersey. Right now republicans hold the majority in the Virginia State legislature. Democrats pick up enough seats to flip the majority, that will not bode well for President Trump or republicans with a late of suburban parts of districts heading into 2020. Expect the democrats to play that up as much as possible for fundraising advantages again but also galvanize democratic voters heading into 2020. Neil in new jersey, the case of the new jersey seamably up for grabs. It overwhelmingly democratic they have a run of the upper house, lower house, assembly. I wonder if republicans are hoping to pick up seats, not necessarily pick up control but pick up seats . Getting control of the state legislature in new jersey is pretty much out of the picture for republicans at this point. If they can pick up a number of seats to prevent democrats from growing majority they already have, that is a significant win for the Republican Party. Something that you will hear a lot of politicians in more coastal, liberal states talk up as we approach the president ial election but also the Congressional Elections that will take place next november as well. It is important to remember that back in 2018, in the midterm elections, we did see a lot of districts flip from democrats to republicans, im sorry, from republicans to democrats in states like virginia and new jersey. If there were any signs or indicators today that those seats might flip back to republican control, that is something the gop is definitely going to hone in on. Neil absolutely. Great job, gabby, thank you very much. To gabbys point republicans lost six statehouses in the midterm elections. They hope to gain back at left one of them today. Virginia could be a crucial test where the odds favor that distinct possibility here. Republicans control 61 state legislatures as things stand right now, versus 38 for democrats. People will look at this, as a sign are republicans making inroads . Are democrats building what they did in 2018. Thethe battleground states themselves. Take michigan, for example, the president won the state by less than. 2 of a percent. The economy could cut both ways there, as it could crucial states to the president s reelection. Connell mcshane from michigan with the latest. Hey, connell. Reporter were focused on manufacturing here. Were seeing a few signs of slowing down. State of michigan lost 6,000 jobs in the past year. Unemployment is ticking up in mack comb count. We talked to voters. But split who you claim politically. Inches he has been in office he doesnt look in here what the American People are saying. Trump has done more for labor than maybe the past eight president s combined. Reporter obviously depends who you ask, right . Well ask a paul who is Automation Company kind enough to be in here about the manufacturing economy. Make equipment for automobile industry, Aerospace Industry of the is it true, broader manufacturing slowing down a little bit . What are youing seeing here . Were fortunate last couple years to have Strong Economy. We doubled our size in last four years. There is slight softening in automotive and aerospace. Reporter you started to see that. The labor market is still, talking about really, really tight. You told me you have trouble finding skilled workers to fill the gap. What are you doing about that . We are working with mccomb county economic group. Educating students and parents about the jobs in manufacturing. We started our own farm team. We went back to basics. Started apprenticeship program. Nick and cordell are going through the prenticeship program right now. We provide them with a education. Onthejob training and competitive wage. Reporter well have much more from here as we continue after the bell live from here. Well talk about trend. I make a quick point on the economy. Signs of slowing down as paul talked about. We were talking anecdotally to people that supported the president last time around of the just because were seeing that in numbers, doesnt mean theyre abandoning him. Many say they like him the next time around. We have a year to go. Well see how it plays out. Neil thank you, my friend. Great travels. Connell mcshane in battleground part of the country in mesh pan today. News on at t before i continue this discussion. It will pay 60 million to resolve allegations that it had been charging customers for unlimited data plans, but then reducing speeds once they took advantage of that. It is a 60 milliondollar fine coordinated coordinated with the ftc. Devil in the details how that is parceled out to customers. This was largely expected settlement to address concerns that at t had rigged speeds just to get people on to these generally more expensive, unlimited data plans. Well keep you posted. Meantime we told you about markets hitting new highs. Two of them are still at new highs. Not so much the s p, with the president pounding a message that the economy is on his side. And theirs as well. Take a listen. America is the hottest economy anywhere in the world by far. We just hit the highest number in the history of the stock market. This is not rich, that is not poor. That is for everybody. Your 401 k s, how are you doing . Pretty good, right . If the democrats get in thats not going down by 50 . It is going down to nothing. You will have a depression the likes of which you have never seen. Mark my words, hopefully we dont even have to think about it. Neil that has been a very popular theme on the part of the president , to say, you impeach me, vote me out of office, you can kiss all of this goodbye. Paultude Paul Tudor Jones says if you elected elizabeth warren, market drops 25 with wealth transactions, no way to say that. This same experts predicted market tunnel if donald trump was elected. Two of the three market averages in record territory yet again. The dow and nasdaq, point out, putting this in perspective, the dow yeartodate up 18 . The s p north of 22 . The nasdaq, more than 27 . To put that in comparison, with shanghai, up about 20 . Optimism about trade on that front is what is propelling stocks there as here. To Kingsview Asset Management chief Investment Officer scott martin whether the president has a point, you get rid of me, you get rid of all these gains, what do you think . I think the fun stops, neil. You look at history. Do you want money in the hands of entrepreneurs, the individuals or the corporations or do you want to give it to the government . Last time i checked the government is not so good turning profits, using money efficiently lets say. So the plans democrat have to take more money from les face it, as the onion has been peeled back, take money from everyone. All sorts of classes middle class, upper class, maybe lower class, who knows. Democrats policies of taking more money from everyone using what they should think be the efficiencies needed to make, that to me is worrisome for those out there in the stock market, looking at all of the success corporations are having due to current policies. Neil there are a lot of reasons the market is getting too heady, nose bleeding, multiple of s p 500 trading 20 times earnings. That is well north of japan trading 70 times earnings, certainly what is going on in france, 16 times earnings. Different markets, different times. There is ample amount of cash on the sidelines. It has gone up to close to 3 trillion now. That is out there. Which one is out for you . Look at you doing all the research. Those are a lot of numbers, very important ones though. Here is the funny part. Youre right about those figures though. The market is a little expensive but it is not really, really expensive like weve seen in past corrections, right . In 2007, 1999, the late 80s, neil, the market to me is fairly valued. There are risks ahead politically. If you look where Interest Rates are, look how the fed turned tail this year, cut rates three times. Theyre also doing, i dont care what they call it. Neil it is quantitative easing. Theyre doing that, billion dollars a month. That to me is very safe environment for stocks to go up in because of the fact we have liquidity out there, expanding economy. The data isnt as great as it was early in the year but it is still good. That is information stocks are feeding on. Why the ratios you gave out very prescient could go higher. Neil my friend, always good catching up with you. Scott martin following developments. Were up 27 points. Getting news out of washington, could be a market moving event, you never know, the house is poised to release transcript the of interview they conducted with gordon sondland, former eu ambassador, kurt volcker, handling things in ukraine as our envoy. The idea were going to impeach a president less than 12 months before the next election, based on anonymous whistleblower with no firsthand knowledge and bias against the president worked with joe biden is ridiculous. We dont get to question him under old to determine what biases they may have. He is apparently neil jim jordan of ohio. He is a key player in the House Oversight committee. He wants in, swap committees to be on the House Intelligence Committee. That will be where all the action is. That has to be essentially approved by nancy pelosi and she thinks that is a bad idea, table and chess pieces are set. So it is not going to happen to her. It is not that simple. All of this occurs at a time jordan, others in the Republican Party saying process is rigged. They want to get the word out right now. Better if you dont like the president , vote him out of office, not do this. Blake burman with the latest from the white house. How the president handling all of this. Hi, blake. Reporter jim jordan one of the more vocal supporters Republican Party on the house side and a big defender of President Trump. The strategy is put one of their strongest voices and strongest members as they see it. Move him over from oversight because most everything is funneled through the House Intelligence Committee. This impeachment committee. To move jordan over, thinking would be get one of the best voices there as you outlined, remains to be seen whether or not nancy pelosi would give her blessing to be able to do that. Speaking of the House Intelligence Committee, that is run by the top democrat on the committee, adam schiff. Schiff said there would be a deposition transcripts released today of two very prominent figures. We are still awaiting those deposition transcripts, the key figures gordon sondland, u. S. Ambassador to the european union, and kurt volcker, former u. S. Representative for ukraine negotiations. Those transcripts still have yet to be released. We believe that will come some point midday presumably around this time. Sondland has become a fee figure, neil, we have seen part of his Text Messages that were released by house democrats. One of them includes a back and forth with bill taylor the top diplomat in ukraine. As the aid was held up, u. S. Aide to ukraine. He said to sondland, as i said on the phone it is crazy to withhold Security Assistance for help with a Political Campaign four hours later sondland said, bill, i believe you are incorrect about President Trumps intentions. The president has been clear no quid pro quos of any kind. During the four our gap, the president asked him what do you want from ukraine. It is possible when the transcripts are released that is a focus of some of the line of questioning. As for adam schiff, he is out with an oped in usa today which he says that the inquiry really is just beginning, writing at one point, quote, what we have found, what the American People will soon learn through the release of additional testimony transcripts and in public hearings this is all about more than just one call, meaning that july 25th call between President Trump and president zelensky of ukraine. Republicans though are starting to amp up the spotlight on schiff as they are also rolling out the argument that he is a material witness in this inquiry and they believe that he should field questions at some point underoath. Listen. Absolutely the whistleblower should answer questions under oath but more importantly adam schiff needs to answer questions under oath there are a lot of serious questions about the coordination between the whistleblower and chairman schiff. Reporter neil, the whistleblowers attorneys are adamant that adam schiff had no direct contact or involvement whatsoever with the whistleblower. The whistleblower attorney calling that assertion completely false. So many different wheels turning in washington, neil. We await the transcripts of sondland and volcker. Neil amazing. I dont know how you keep up with that, my friend. The read on that, questioner of questioner adam schiff. Former prosecutor katy. Jaw cows ski on this. What do you think, katy. This is bit different than past inquiries. A lot of people the republicans would love to question at some point. At some point they might get the opportunity. The problem there is really no clearcut way for them to do that at the moment. Neil obviously the ones who control, all the marbles are ones who have them, are democrats. They will not allow that, right . At this point no and the problem with impeachment from the president it is really political process. This is not a legal process. He doesnt have Due Process Rights at this stage. At some point when it moves to the House Judiciary Committee republicans will be able to call witnesses and question individuals in the inquiry. Right now that is not looking very likely. Neil i dont know how the process goes. Im so glad to talk to you. But is it proper for adam schiff to send out hints, there were more than a single phone call here, there were other phone calls . In other words to sprinkle it out there, sort of like raw meat, what do you think of it . I think that adam schiff has for a long time been trying to get something on the president and has played a very large role in some way in furthering the inquiries, the ones suggesting that the Mueller Report would take President Trump down and now this. So i think i take it with a grain of salt personally whether that is actually accurate. But i do think there are a lot of questions remain about his involvement, what he does know. Neil finally a lot of attention being paid to the fact that two Administration Officials are not keen, refused to testify thus far. Omb official mike duffy, nsc official wells griffeth. The democrats will likely force the issue. Where do you see that going because i this pops up again and again . They may be compelled to testify. With impeachment inquiries there is not a lot of rules from the constitution. So the house has a lot of power how these things are carried out. It is important for the American People to get answers from as many sources as possible to make these final decisions. Neil is it in your gut, katie this is headed toward as house vote on impeachment, i dont know when, vote on impeachment by the end of the year . That was one of the hopes by steny hoyer, but what do you think . I think at this point that is where it is heading. I dont know strategically that is the best move for democrats. They think they had a lot more than they had with the phone call. That may or may not prove to be true. There is lot of open question about interpretations which exist but having witnesses to that point. Neil katie, thank you very, very much. We want to keep you up to date with markets nominally to the upside. For the dow that would be a record. Optimism on the trade front. Now senator grassley saying i i have a fine place where the president and his counterpart can meet, how about iowa . Phase one deal will include a lot of agricultural purchases for the chinese. The stock hitting record lows. Doesnt believe it will turn a profit until at least 2021. Billion dollar loss in the next quarter. John meyer, what does that mean for uber but ridesharing industry. What is going on . First and foremost. Aside from wework. Startups have difficult road to profitability in the first place. The second issue, something far more pressing right now, i mean today, the fact this week is the amount of shares available for treating from uber going from 200 million, up to 1. 5 billion, because of lockups from uber employees expiring it week im concerned about the stock. If youre an employer with uber. Partially compensated with rsus or restricted stock units the last five years or so, you will sell some shares. A lot of employees are getting ready to hit the sell button this week. Neil wondering what it says of this entire technology trend. Obviously theyre not going away, but maybe they got overpriced. What do you think . I think they got overpriced. A large contributor is softbank a large contributor to the wework ipo. A disaster to be honest. This is big contributor to the uber stock pock lips i think will happen this week. Only future for uber in Sustainable Way and lyft, is figuring out a strategy to leap forward with the plans on selfdriving. The only problem, uber and lift remain behind leading players to autonomy. If that doesnt come to fruition, that is bleak future for uber, Ridesharing Companies that cant compete with autonomy. Neil the apocalypse you were referring to is what . The apocalypse will happen this week. There will be a huge sign of the stock price. Mainly due to, uber employees who have had a lockup, that are being unlocked. Neil i got you. They can exercise that . Right. Neil got it. Shares are 200 million available for trading. That is going up to 1. 5 billion shares available for trading because of lockups expiring this week. Neil more likely selling if youre right. John meyer, thank you very much. Thank you. Neil by the way, real quick note on, you know, the peugeot fiat merger with chrysler, all of that. A lot had been raised especially in europe, are you shutting down factories, will people lose jobs . Both companies are pledging not to close factories if they merge under heavy constrain the combined group with excess capacity. Theyre telling regulators. Youre worried you will get a lot of people. , very nice way to deliver. Making sure the merger happens. Better than 50 billiondollar merger. It would create the worlds fourth largest auto giant. People who get it now, police, state trooper come on the field, the cat runs into the end zone. That is a touch down the cat is elusive, kind of like barkley and elliot. Neil see what they did there . The cat slowly crossing the goal line. Can the u. S. Get a china trade deal in the end zone . See what we, you do see what we did there . Okay. Signs that both sides are playing ball on tariffs but it can get a little catty. Edward lawrence has more. Edward. Reporter neil, also like herding cats. Neil that is even better. Reporter see what i did there . As deputy level phone calls continue, neil, between the u. S. And china for a phase one deal, the chinese are feeling more confident that the december 15th tariffs by u. S. Will not be imposed. In fact people familiar with the talks are telling us that china would roll back its tariffs as part of a trade deal. In the oval office on october 11th, President Trump said that the tariffs on december 15th imposed by the u. S. Were to be determined. The chinese worked to get tariffs repealed throughout the negotiations. Tariffs are a core concern about the chinese. Weighing heavily on the economy. Two is happening, two sides are looking for a place to have a signing of the phase one trade deal. The language is being put down on paper. President donald trump mentioned iowa as a possibility. Iowa senator Chuck Grassley chairs the Senate Finance committee. Director of communications for the Committee Said this, senator grassley would welcome a visit by President Trumps and xi to state of iowa. The statement says farmers in particular are hard hit by the trade war and deserve recognition for the sacrifice. Senator grassley is vocal about getting a enforceable trade deal. So far no movement on the ground in iowa, preparing for actual signing. We are moving towards that direction, for a signing somewhere. We just dont know exactly where it is. Neil . Neil thank you, my friend. Edward lawrence. A sudden rush to get a deal has a lot of folks wondering why now . Lee spieckerman on this. What is interesting youre of the view this is not the way to go about it. What we know this is way to do it. Did i get that right . I dont like what im hear about the agreement, neil. Frame this, whenever you hear the phrase free trade. That is code for cheap foreign labor and unfortunately wall street fat cats are addicted to that. Too often appears the president is basing trade policy on wall Street Market reaction, kind of like a bar asking patrons when happy hour should be over. That makes absolutely no sense. We have to look long term in this country. Agricultural exports are great. Farmers are crucial. Mainly because they feed the American People. We have to keep in mind our deficit in cars, with the rest of the world, just our car deficit, exceeds our total agricultural exports. So the future of this country has got to be based on advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, not agricultural exports. We have to get that back in line and have our priorities in place because that is where the jobs of the future for middle class of this country is what is important. Not what a bunch of wall street fat cats think it is important, fatter corporate profit margins, tons of money pouring in from overseas, invested on wall street. That is not what the average american in this country needs. That is not what President Trump campaigned on. Neil average farmers want it, right . How do you answer their call, look, get this resolved. Other stuff lee talked about, have someone else do something about that, we want the farm deal now . Well we want what now . Neil we want more Farm Products being bought by chinese now . Well, look, sending american soybeans to feed their pigs in china is not the most important thing for our country. We have a 400 billiondollar goods trade deficit with china. Even if this, as rumored, this agreement, that is phase one, whatever that means, happens, china were to start buying 40 billion a year of u. S. Agricultural products, neil, that would only shave 10 , 40 billion off of our hue among gus 400 billiondollar trade deficit with china. Neil youre in mind set, look it is not worth signing on, even though the first phase, there are other promises of phases to come. You dont buy it, dont sign on to this . I dont buy it. Neil, china cheats. As i have said before, Robert Lighthizer and his team are brilliant but it doesnt matter how terrific the deal they negotiate is and this is very not a terrific deal frankly from what im hearing, even if it were, china cheats. They will not live up to it. They have never lived up to the trade agreements in the past why would they start now . One thing we can measure, enforce, worked in this country for 200 years, impose tariffs. Those tariffs provide desperately needed revenue for our country. And we have got to do that. That needs to be the way that we do this policy, not some agreements that we cant police and we cant enforce. I hope we move in that direction. The tariffs trump already imposed, neil, have already cut our trade deficit with china by nearly 20 year to year. Okay . That is even with them cutting back on their agricultural imports. Neil you wouldnt do this . Why wouldnt we go with something that is working . Neil the president obviously felt it was in his political interests as well to settle on this. Do you think there is Political Risk for him to do what youre doing . The risk is not doing it. What President Trump campaigned on bringing back manufacturing jobs. He added half a million. That is terrific. If we had 15 tariffs on all goods imports in this country, not a huge amount, but just 15 , that would level the playing field, it would lead to a vast expansion of american manufacturing, growth in american middle class incomes and increased jobs for the middle class. That is very important. On top of that, as i mentioned earlier, it would raise additional 300 billion a year. Neil, what President Trump has failed to do with this trade policy, and tariffs is lay out a plan. What could this country do with 300 billion a year in revenue from a 15 import tariff . That would be enough to give us 150 billion to give a private Health Insurance policy to everyone insured american. That would be 50 billion a year to make middle income tax cuts permanent, 1000 a year for every middle class household. As it is set the middle income tax cuts in the trump plan go away in 2026. In five years the middle class in this country is looking over 1000dollar a year tax increase. Neil who is paying tariffs though . Consumers are paying part of those tariffs but, neil, right now, the number one selling vehicle in the United States is, are pickup trucks. The three top selling brands of vehicles in the United States are pickup trucks. Neil, they have a 25 tariff. So in other words, they are almost all made in the United States because of a 25 tariff that Lyndon Johnson put on pickup trucks before anybody bought them in the 1960s. If tariffs are so well, why are they working so well for pickups in this country . Why have they cut ones trump put on . Why have they cut our chinese trade deficit 20 years year to year. Meanwhile incomes are going up, jobs are going up. Neil i could argue a lot longer with you, but your points are interesting. You cant argue with the numbers. Neil i can, actually, because i can. Ready any day. Neil back at you. Do my cat analogy with you if youre not careful. Just kidding. Relax. Why this could be the president s most powerful tool, typos and all, especially typos and all. Imagine a disease is caused by too much of a bad protein, but a Company Develops a way to actually attack it. Presumably house intelligence keen talking to Mick Mulvaney, white house chief of staff over issues regarding infamous phone call or phone calls the president might have had with his counterpart in ukraine. That he consistently breached a gag order. A lot more to it. Charlie gasparino hand following this among other things. I dont know where to go with this because i know the guy so well. Neil colorful character. Hes crazy. You know neil claiming that campaign was hacking Clinton Emails to its advantage for the campaign and he was behind it. Yeah. You know, heres the thing. Like i said, i know roger, i like him, ive known him for a long time. If you get into the guts of charges that, bad stuff he was accused of doing, none of it stuck. He wasnt, he didnt like, he didnt break into he didnt aid and abet wikileaks or russians to break into the servers, the clinton servers. Neil right. He was, sort of blindly in some respects facilitating getting some of those emails to do what political tricksters like himself have been doing since nixon, literally since nixon. He used to work for nixon. Get stuff, put it out there, make hay out of it. But what they got him on is lying about the noncrime, which tells you something about roger. Dont know when to stop spinning. Listen, i wonder if he goes, if he gets convicted only because the crime just is not there . I dont know how you delineate lies from obfuscations. That is what theyre getting him on, some sort of a perjury charge. I will say this, it has been known in Law Enforcement circles for years they were trying to get roger stone. They thought he was sleaziest worth guy in the world. He was a bad actor. Neil he is back in their face. He is not a shrinking violet. One thing about roger, he is tough and nasty but he is honest about it. You know what youre getting dealing with him. Neil let me switch gears scott adams. Neil he has a book out, say what you will of the president s tweet, they are away of going over the press, connecting with the people, and, they are his modus operandi it is working. Those that tell him to cease, slow, stop, not working. If you look at content of a lot of tweets, it might violate terms of service that twitter has. They do impose. When trolls attack me viciously, they get banned and i got a bunch of people suspended. Neil you get yours banned . You dont complain. It is easy to do. Neil wouldnt that be political speech what he does . Depends. They thought about disciplining him, i dont know about suspending, they thought about it when he was going after megyn kelly. Remember the whole stretch, after that, more stuff came out. It got very nasty. I know from people inside twitter that they were thinking of suspending or at least disciplining him. They didnt. Why didnt they . Comes down to bucks. Donald trump is the best advertisement twitter ever had. Forget about not taking political ads. The fact he uses twitter to get his message out neil adams was saying, tweets, spellings, grammar those are priceless relating to his audience. When he misspells something, or says something crazy we talk about it. That gets more mileage. Neil doesnt look like he will slow down . Why would he. Twitter isnt going to stop him. That is the fascinating thing. It is definitely a business decision on their part doing a lot of stuff that he does that steps over the line. Neil thank you, my friend. Fears of a Government Shutdown are growing. Forget when we make progress on impeachment, will we have a impeachment if there is Government Shutdown . After this. Does your broker offer more than just free trades . Fidelity has zero commissions for online u. S. Equity trades and etfs, plus zero minimums to open a brokerage account. With value like this, there are zero reasons to invest anywhere else. Fidelity. Neil all right. Welcome back, everybody. You know what is amazing, look at the capitol, look at the white house, look at the corner of wall and broad where the dow is racing to yet another record. So is the nasdaq, the s p in and out of one here, and this despite the fact we are waiting for more shoes to drop. How many shoes can drop after all on this impeachment inquiry . House lawmakers are now requesting the acting chief of staff, Mick Mulvaney, appear for deposition. Thats a lot of people they are waiting to hear from, including two who said they would rather not go. To chad pergram on capitol hill with the latest. What are we looking at here . Reporter thats just come out about Mick Mulvaney in the past 10 or 15 minutes, that hes been requested to appear on friday. The other big witness that has been requested to appear this week, requested, i will underscore that, is john bolton, the former National Security adviser. Now, here it is, just a little after 1 00, and we were told that midday, we may start to get these transcripts of the closed door depositions with gordon sondland, the u. S. Ambassador to the user peeuropean union and a special envoy to ukraine, kurt volker. We have not gotten those transcripts yet. Democrats arent able to get many of these witnesses in so they are kind of filling the void with these transcripts to contour the narrative. One of the big things thats going on, can democrats continue to walk and chew gum at the same time. This is a big issue as they have to fund the government by the 21st of november. They are working behind the scenes on the usmca. Im told things are going well on the usmca here, but i spoke with danny weiss, Nancy Pelosis former chief of staff, about whether or not democrats could continue to legislate and put impeachment over on another side. Listen. I dont believe members of the house at least on the democratic sideview the impeachment inquiry as a type of risk that undermines them, their ability to get other things done. The speaker has demonstrated that the house can pass legislation and conduct an inquiry at the same time. Reporter now, the issue here also as they work on the usmca, House Speaker nancy pelosi has deputized a group of democrats to negotiate the trade pact with the administration. One of them is jimmy gomez, a democrat from california. There are questions on capitol hill if we get really deep in impeachment here, could it affect the negotiation on the usmca. I posed that question to jimmy gomez just the other day. He would be sticking the worker in Middle America and ohio, michigan, wisconsin, pennsylvania, in the eye because his job is to help move the ball forward on trade issues. Reporter you know, that could be the amazing paradox here, the house of representatives could in fact give President Trump his biggest bipartisan accomplishment of his presidency, passing the usmca, while theyre moving impeachment. The other big wild card out there is funding the government. They have to do that by the 21st of november. There are some wondering whether that could affect the president s mood adversely. Remember, the big issue they have not resolved yet is funding for the border wall. Back to you. Neil real quickly on this jim jordan request to move over from the Oversight Committee to the House Intelligence Committee, as i understand it, that would be up to nancy pelosi, and shes not keen on it. Right . Reporter in some respects, yes. You have Party Control over committees and every change with a Committee Chair is approved on the floor. The House Intelligence Committee is a select committee, so its up to the speaker of the house, she kind of has ball control there, that she could potentially veto that if they were to move jim jordan there. The reason republicans would like to move jim jordan there is thats where they think most of the action is going to be. Jim jordan is currently the ranking republican, the Top Republican on the Oversight Committee, and if youre going to have open hearings in the intel yeligence committee, no guarantee they would have open sessions in the other committees looking at this, they might have one from the republican perspective, one of their best people, one of their most vocal supporters of President Trump out there. You know, its a little like hockey. In hockey, you know, the home team gets the last change. So what happens is the visitors put out their skaters and then the home team gets to evaluate whos out there, then they put out their skaters trying for the best matchup. Thats what republicans are trying to do right now. Nancy pelosi has last change just like in hockey. Neil just like hockey, everything is on ice. Reporter and theres a lot of fighting, too. Neil there you go. Reporter fiveminute major, tenminute misconduct. Neil i have no idea what you are talking about, but you are so brilliant. I was going to take that one leap to swap stories with you. Youre the best. Chad pergram on all of that. I want to bring your attention to wall and broad. You would think with all this impeachment talk accelerating, the demand for more depositions, the witnesses who refuse to take up the house demands as they testify on capitol hill, you would be in the middle of like an uhoh selloff. The dow in record territory again. Any gain from yesterday would of course be a record. S p, you know, a little softer but the nasdaq also up today and that shows yet another record. So this is wall streets way of showing worry or alarm, a funny way of showing it. To joseph pinion, Danielle Mcloughlin and lizzie macdonald. So lizzie, it is remarkable, the collective shrug of the markets on all of this. Maybe they think this doesnt go anywhere. Worst Case Scenario for the president , its a house vote on impeachment, doesnt go much further than that. What is it . Its striking because we were talking recession a couple months ago and the market downturn. This is sort of the Rodney Dangerfield market that gets no respect. This is a surprise rally. I dont think many saw this coming on wall street and that earnings and revenue turning around. Earnings and revenues are looking really good for the s p 500 and when you consider that, you know, since the president was elected, im not cheerleading either way, these are just the facts, from the companies there, 10. 9 trillion in equity value added, equal to the purchasing parity of russia, spain and germany combined. Neil is that right. Thats a powerful thing going on with the market. Neil can President Campaign on it. He said you want to kiss me goodbye, you can kiss all this goodbye, right . The market is based on confidence. Consumer confidence. It is also based on market confidence. Its very clear the markets have confidence in President Trump. Thats been evident from the moment basically he got elected as president. President elect of the United States. Look, this election ultimately will always down to the economy. Its going to be about those six Million People that have jobs, its really going to be about saying are you better off today than you were four years ago. For a great vast swath of americans the answer will be yes. Neil you know, switching it around about the timing of this, it keeps getting pushed back. The more it gets pushed back, that is the potential just the lag for witnesses, subpoenaing documents back and forth, republicans who want to be on committees, et cetera, this might not be the end of the year. This might go into the new year, house vote, for example, on impeachment and right in the middle of the president ial campaign that would require, if it does go to the senate, at least six of those candidates running for president having to be in washington for all this. Do they regret this now that it could be blowing up in their faces potentially . Clearly if you are one of the six senator candidates, you are going to be worried about being off the campaign trail. Im sure democrats understand that they have to follow through with this, that they believe that what happened with ukraine was an abuse of power and they want to get to the bottom of it. I think they had a base issue themselves where people want to know what happened. We are seeing all of this testimony come out drip by drip by drip. None of it which is particularly good for the president. Neil say they want to push it all the way to impeachment. I know its a different issue, the president says hes going to be judged in an election based on his policies and his words and all that, that, i get, not on this, this is their responsibility, get that, get that, get that, but you are so close to the election, you might as well let the people decide whether this is serious enough to toss the guy out. Sure. Actually, republicans say this a lot, that this is people trying to undo the 2016 election, but impeachment is its own constitutional animal. It was put in there by the founders for an abuse of power, not for necessarily rising to the level of a crime but neil none of this has to do with the mueller investigation. Its all ukraine. No, youre right. I dont think a year ago, we would have expected that, but you know, the text that came from sondland, the whistleblower, this has taken on a life of its own. Mueller is in the rear view mirror. Neil yeah. What i always wonder about is the markets abhor uncertainty. And they are certain this goes nowhere. Are you . Im not certain it goes nowhere. Im really not certain right now. When i look at it, its in the context of what has been going on before. We know that theres a push to impeach the president even before he was elected. We traced it back to 2016. We know that when the president came into office, the democrats at that point were squawking about the electoral college, complaining about the electoral college, when they were saying if trump wins excuse me, trump loses, he would be the one complaining about the electoral college. It was a push back then to get members of his cabinet to declare him unfit under the 25th amendment. I think voters see this in the broad context. But whats going on with ukraine absolutely needs some airing. Thats what critics are saying. Thats what privately republicans are saying. Whats at issue now is the American People. Are they going to get a clear picture of what happened. Neil you know, i talked to a lot of republicans on this issue about whats an impeachable offense. For awhile, many of them were saying theres nothing untoward going on here with these conversations with the ukrainian president. The next wave of interviews i had was and even if there were, its no big deal. The next wave was yeah, even if there was a quid pro quo, which we dont think there was but even if there were, no big deal. It almost seems like worse Case Scenario, they are just not going to admit anything is unseemly enough or against the constitution enough to warrant throwing him out of office. Theyre just not going to do it. Bill clinton broke laws. Bill clinton was able to survive the impeachment process because the American People were not happy with the impeachment process. They sent telegrams, they made phone calls and that gave neil but far from that decisive i will say this. I think Richard Nixon was on tape saying i know where i can find the Million Dollars. Democrats neil not a good thing to be saying. Right, right. Thats not what we have here. As much as democrats want americans to view it through that prism, they want it to be seen as a quid pro quo, it is not that simple. We still do not know concretely hey, the ukrainians knew ahead of time. Ultimately right now, this is a political process. Clinton survived because democrats had his back. Nixon did not survive because republicans abandoned him which neil well, we also had a lousy environment for nixon. Probably would have gone either way. But bill clinton had a very good one. I have always said, lizzie and i got into this, wall street isnt red or blue. Theyre green. They love money, money, money. Which is great. They made a lot of money under this president , under bill clinton they made a lot of money. That will i think be the backdrop that saves this president. Yeah, and its incredible, actually, the numbers, you think about where we might have been if we hadnt had trade wars, for example. It looks like china and the u. S. Are backing off a little and we might have some agreement on a phase one within the next month or so. But the president has harmed himself in many respects but the Strong Economy is buoying him just like it did with clinton. Would clinton have been impeached if the economy was neil i would say it was a great backdrop for him. Yeah. Neil great backdrop. Richard nixon, to joes point, the Million Dollar check and yeah, there are tapes and a host of other things. Look right now, support for impeachment amongst republicans has gone down. So you look, over 50 of americans who even if they support impeachment, are displeased with the manner in which democrats have handled the impeachment process. So again, when you say if impeachment is about how do you get a coalition of americans to say we are in favor of this neil well, for Richard Nixon it was when all is said and done, went from 10 to 90 that were favoring it. For bill clinton, it never moved beyond 30 . You talk about nixon, we are going back to those old 70s songs. I watched television until television went off. Right . That was actually a thing. [ speaking simultaneously ] youve got internet, things that didnt even really exist. It was in its infancy. All these things aid the president in a way democrats havent calculated. Neil it was really just a yes or no. Im kidding. We have a lot more. We are apparently moments away from getting that deposition transcript, two of them now, from gordon sondland, of course, the former eu ambassador, and kurt volker, the president s ukraine envoy. Apparently they make conflicting statements. Thats what we are told. The details of which will be released in a matter of minutes. Stay with us. Beyond the routine checkups. Beyond the notsoroutine cases. Comcast business is helping doctors provide care in whole new ways. All working with a new generation of technologies powered by our gigspeed network. Because beyond technology. There is human ingenuity. Every day, comcast business is helping businesses go beyond the expected. To do the extraordinary. Take your business beyond. I need all the breaks as athat i can get. Or, at liberty butchemel. Cut. Liberty mu. Line . Cut. Liberty mutual customizes your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need. Cut. Liberty m. Am i allowed to riff . What if i come out of the water . Liberty biberty. Cut. Well dub it. Liberty mutual customizes your Car Insurance so you only pay for what you need. Only pay for what you need. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Liberty. Neil do we need billionaires . Im looking at one, i know. Youre looking at one. Im going to say we need them. We need me. Neil yeah. Yeah. We need people to invest. We need people to put money back into the economy. It comes from people who have it, and there might be millionaires and billionaires but theres got to be people who accumulate their savings to make the system work. Neil all right. That was Td Ameritrade founder joe ricketts on this wave on the part of the progressive part of the Democratic Party to go after billionaires. Bernie sanders, so much so to make them, well, gone. Joseph, lizzie, danielle. Joe, his message is you go after us, you kill us off, there goes a lot of the hiring, there goes a lot of the economic activity. Everyone is screwed in that process. But democrats have doubled down on policies that never worked in the history of the world, havent worked in any country. We have had wealth taxes all across europe. They have never worked. We have had socialism neil had about a dozen back in the 90s. It did not work. Again, this notion that oh, well, it only applies to 50 millionaires and above. Well, yes, but even if you taxed everybody above 50 million, 100 , you still only have enough money for about a third of the crazy projects they actually want to fund. So again, what starts off as a tax on the 50 millionaires ends up a tax on the hundred thousandaires and ultimately you end up with a situation, a wealth tax where the government reserves the right to buy things from anybody. Now we are not even just talking about a wealth tax. We are talking about an assault on liberty. If the government can buy anything from you, it means you truly dont own anything. That means if you are a black person in the nfl, they said black people cant own an nfl team, the government can just buy them from you. If you are a woman who said women should be in industry, the government can buy it from you. The government can print the money. It really is at the end of the fw game just neil her notion that the middle class is unscathed in this just doesnt add up. Among some of her taxes are about 800 billion over ten years, a financial transaction tax that would include the middle class. 1. 4 trillion generated from higher taxable incomes because if she had her way, you dont have private insurance policies anymore. The premiums you were paying and getting a tax advantage, writeoff, you dont. So your income rises. Uncle sam takes more. So shes being dishonest, isnt she . Look, where her messaging runs into problems is what shes not making clear i think is the idea that you will be paying less for your childrens education and or less for your Health Insurance you would otherwise pay so your taxes are increased but increased less. Neil at least Bernie Sanders is saying the middle class is going to pay but they are going to get back more. Youre right. Theres absolutely zero proof you would pay less in College Tuition because what has happened is the following. The u. S. College system operates taxfree. Right . So throughout the tuition costs have jacked up repeatedly, no matter how much money you throw into that system. So theres no incentive for colleges to do that. There would be no incentive for Health Care Costs to go down if the government runs it. Theres no incentive or accountability right now in the government. Its astonishing what shes saying she wants to do, remove a fifth of the economy, put it inside the government. Neil im curious when you talk to fellow democrats, are they concerned that shes ruining it for the party or that the message, there might be a logical way to explain a lot of the things you just talked about, but if its going to look like oh, god, another trillion dollars on top of 35 trillion maybe in taxes and all, and their head spins. Does it reinforce the notion that some democrats are trying to fight that they are the party of higher taxes, higher taxes, higher taxes . Its a very very hard thing to fight against when you have these kinds of massive really transformational plans for the economy, for peoples lives, the way they interact with government. Neil all for medicare for all. Think about that. I mean, barack obama was shrewd enough to say health care for all. Its a good thing to say everybody should have it. I think its like brussels sprouts. Theres a difference between making sure [ speaking simultaneously ] theres a difference between making the case we should have a safety net and people shouldnt die because they cant afford insulin. On the other hand, having a transformational change where you will take insurance from people who actually like their employerprovided plan, i think buttigieg is the middle ground which is medicare for all who want it. The idea of obamacare bringing more people into that fold. But people keeping the things they have as part of their income. By the way, the fact of the matter is democrats already as it is now continue to mislead the American People. Twothirds of american households get more in the way of government benefits than they pay into the system. Half of the American People, according to the cbo, half the American People according to Census Bureau get some kind of government help. The Safety System has been built and the taxpayer funds it. You know, kathleen sebelius, obamas health and Human Services secretary, said shes really worried about medicare for all because medicare and medicaid are run through the private insurance system. Nancy dicarl, deputy chief of staff, says what warren is talking about is absolutely absurd. Shes never gotten 60 votes for anything, elizabeth warren. Thats what she says. Bernie sanders never voted, fought for 60 votes in the senate for anything. Why do they think voters should go for this . This is a really tough sell. Neil real quickly, the one area, you could argue these percentages and numbers, i think all of you have quite eloquently, but i havent heard much out of the republicans who lost the 2018 midterms at least in the house, because they didnt seem to have a cogent let alone coherent plan on health care and they still dont. Look, blue collar americans know best, theres no such thing as a free lunch. Republicans have to actually have solutions. Neil they dont on this. They dont. Pebble ne people need to point out all of these issues dont solve the underlying problems. Free college doesnt help the fact College Tuition has run away. Health care for all doesnt solve the fact premiums went up under obamacare and Insurance Companies got rich. Those are the things we have to focus on. Neil from here to pumpkin pie. All in chip form. Potato chip form. Thank you, pringles. See thats funny, i thought you traded options. Im not really a wall street guy. Whats the hesitation . Eh, it just feels too complicated, you know . Well sure, at first, but jj can help you with that. Jj, will you break it down for this gentleman . Hey, ian. Representatives from apple and the video app tik tok expected not to attend. There could be some brushback over that. Hillary vaughn with all the details. Reporter hey, neil, there is brushback already. In fact, they are keeping the two witness chairs that are set aside for apple and tik tok, they will not be filled today, so the room will have the two empty seats symbolizing really the refusal of these two companies to not cooperate with Senate Lawmakers who wanted today to ask them about how user data is protected from bad actors, one of those being china. Senator josh hawley, the chairman of the subcommittee, scolded tik tok for being a noshow, saying its a big mistake, and shows they have something to hide. The Washington Post is now reporting former tik tok employees say moderators based in beijing had the final say over flagged content and even when u. S. Employees disagreed with what the beijing bosses decided, their pleas were ignored. Senator hawley tweet iing direcd from beijing, now we know why tik tok was afraid to testify today. Lots to discuss this afternoon including an interesting letter tik tok just submitted to the committee. We obtained that letter that tik tok submitted to Senate Lawmakers. It reads in part quote, tik tok does not remove content based on sensitivities related to china or other countries. We never have been asked by the Chinese Government to remove any doesnt a content and we would never do so if asked and we were told by lawmakers who are going to be in this hearing today that this Washington Post article and this tik tok letter will be brought up today. Neil . Neil hillary, thank you very, very much. We have a lot more coming up including this idea of a giant loop that the universe, everything around us, just a giant loop. You ever looked around and said i swear i have been here before . Now you know you have. Sometimes, they just drop in. Obvious. Cme group can help you navigate risks and capture opportunities. Pringles is upping its turkey flavored snack game with ter ducken snackable chips. You dont know how many times i practiced that. Theyre out. Yeah. What a time to be alive. I think its brilliant. Neil we are getting our first images from space. Thanksgiving is two weeks away. Im wondering where is the creamed onion chip. My father always ate that. Im loving it. This is going to be the greatest thing since sliced bread or its going to be new coke. Im hoping for the former. Let me be honest. I have grown up with chips of unusual flavors for a very long time so this is a wonderful thing to see in the United States of america. Cocktail chips, chicken chips, beef wellington chips. Neil beef wellington . Wow. Its all just salt and i love it. Neil there you go. Speaking of thanksgiving, bed, bath beyond is breaking tradition. Its going to be open thanksgiving day. Their sales are taking hits, the stock was down about 30 . I think year over year. But whats happened is they got a new guy in from target and the target guy, the new executive, saying hey, get the doors open on thanksgiving. Neil thats not right. I think thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. Mostly because your one responsibility on thanksgiving is just to show up. So any type of policy that prevents other people from showing up and being with people who they love, i just think just let thanksgiving be thanksgiving. Neil at least make it later in the day. So they can have time with their family. Theres time to make money for christmas sales. Let people go home and be with their family. Neil what do you think . Im with you. I will come work thanksgiving if you need me, of course. I like that its a noncommercial type of a thing. I feel bad that folks have to work. Neil you know whats going to happen with that, others are going to follow. Well, they did it, we got to do it. A lot of companies are, right . Yeah. But you know what, this is the way it is. What are you going to do . Neil not the same as when we were in school. Theres a new study out you probably heard about that the universe may be a giant loop. Around and around. Say that again . Neil a giant loop. It all repeats. These are the details missing here. But if its like a kaleidoscope, it makes you wonder about what is man or woman. Is al gore the inventor of that loop . No, its like an inflated balloon, circular, not just extending out. Neil like i said, its a giant balloon. Joseph . Like i said, if life is just repeating itself in new ways over and over again, thats why i said impeachment is like the o. J. Simpson trial. We are just going in circles. People getting new iterations of the same thing over and over and over again. Neil you know, it states the obvious but they say history doesnt repeat itself but it sure does rhyme. With these kind of scandals, these type of issues, the market soars, its been there, done that. Kind of experienced that. But i do know that through it all, we get through it all. My best evidence of the universe not being like a flat sheet but more like this balloon is the fact if you go back and watch the west wing its all the same. Its all the same issues. Trade, international relations, the same bad actors, the same issues with domestic politics, same issues with governors, states, reds and purples. Thats my best evidence, actually. Neil or that it goes through the cycle. Yeah. Listen to history. What do we forget collectively, what mistakes we make again. Neil its interesting, too, voyager launched i think when jimmy carter was president , the first one, the second one later. We are getting our first kind of images back and its a long way even though its gone further than any manmade aircraft ever, it is still 200,000 plus years from leaving the solar system. That makes you think about how big everything is. Yes. Puts it in perspective. Neil yes, it does. Powerful point. Expands time. What kind of chips are we going to be eating by the time this spaceship gets to the end of the universe . Neil what indeed . What indeed . All right. Meanwhile, back to more mundane matters, the dow is in record territory again. More after this. Peyton, what are we doing here . Brad, welcome to peytonville. Whats this for . Song inspiration. I started in my garage, but nationwide protects so much i had to expand. Nationwide helps protect everything you see in here, brad. Every family, every business, every dream. See mrs. Hoffman . Nationwide protects her home and car, but also her dream of retiring to become a yoga instructor. Oh, they have backstories. Of course they do. Here, i got more to show you. Keep up, now. A little hustle. Neil the excerpts are released from testimony from kurt volker, gordon sondland. They are sort of poring through them right now. The impact of all this on the same day the house has requested of Mick Mulvaney, acting white house chief of staff, also testify on capitol hill. He has not responded. Others at the white house who have been asked to appear before various house committees have refused. We will update you on that. Again, we also have congressman mark walker of the beautiful state of north carolina, the house gop vice chairman, so big cheese in that regard, about whats happening there. In the meantime, we want to keep you uptodate on whats happening with boeing right now. The chairman separately saying the ceo, remember they split those jobs just recently, Dennis Muilenburg is just fine before various committees in the senate and the house, but that his bonus, his 2019 bonus amid this 737 max crisis, well, hes not getting one this year. Dagen mcdowell in for Charles Payne on all of that. This is an issue that bedevils people. Muilenburg couldnt win for talking, couldnt win for testifying, but hes still technically ceo and now promising not to take any bonuses. Where is this going . Well, neil, he had to cough up something, right, in terms of taking some responsibility. I work with you, you gave me my job on tv, god help us all. Neil now look at you. Dagen and you always told me the buck stops here. Who had that on his desk, harry s. Truman . The buck stops here . Thats the issue with Dennis Muilenburg. He was grilled about this, what kind of compensation are you going to give up. I personally dont love when lawmakers try to dictate the decisions of a private company, publicly traded but not government run, and muilenburg was asked are you going to give up any of your compensation, have you lost any compensation. So this is a way to try and calm the waters, if you will. I was looking at the stock before you called my name. The stock hasnt performed that badly year to date. Year to date total return is up about 11 , 10 through the close yesterday. Its underperforming the market. But nevertheless, now hes got the backing of the new chairman, dave calhoun, said hes not going to receive a bonus but hes standing by, muilenburg, for the time being. Neil you always just wonder whether hes potentially dead man walking, though. I always wonder, the problem with boeing is that so much goes through him, hes been the guy, you know, prior to this he often would brag about being a very handson, detailoriented manager. We have seen this before, where testimony gets heated and all of a sudden, not as handson, not as detailoriented. What do you think his future looks like . Dagen i think theyve got to get this aircraft back in the sky. Thats got to be job one and not to make any ceo, any Corner Office changes until they can get that done. They suffered some delays on that. I know boeing said it expects regulators will sign off on a package of the Software Fixes and the like, approve new Pilot Training plans in the coming weeks, but i think that they can make those decisions once they get this aircraft back into operation. Neil look forward to seeing you in 15 minutes. Thank you, my friend. Dagen hope you dont regret giving me a job on tv. Neil not at all. Not at all. You are my greatest claim to fame. That and pringles. Thank you very, very much. Walgreens Boots Alliance is exploring going private. Thats according to some reports. The stock was briefly halted, now up almost 7 . It is a dow 30 component so a lot of people watching this closely as well. We are getting dribs and drabs from at least volkers testimony to various committees. One key item we are focusing on at least many of the media is, keep in mind he was our eu ambassador, saying he was saying the president had said ukrainians tried to take me down in the white house discussion with ambassadors. There are other details sort of leaking out here. His testimony we are told and that of gordon sondland, the eu ambassador, slightly different to very different. More after this. Neil we are getting the latest excerpts, these are coming from gordon sondland, former eu ambassador, as well as kurt volker, testimony they gave. He is of course the president s former ukraine envoy. Its volkers that are being focused on right now, in which mr. Volker says the president said that ukrainians tried to take me down in some of these white house discussions with ambassador sondland and volker and Energy Secretary perry. This is according to at least the early transcripts that we are getting right now. They are rifling through them as fast and furiously as they can. Republican congressman mark walker of the beautiful state of north carolina, as far as you can get from north korea. Anyway, hes one of the lawmakers very involved in this and also was among those who walked in on that closed door testimony that was going on. It was like a democratic cabal they said and they wanted in. The congressman joins me. Good to have you. Good to be with you. Neil its very early but people are going to pick apart these transcripts. Its always in the eyes of the beholder. What democrats are trying to say is the president knew what he was doing was wrong and he kept doing it. You say . Yeah. They have been saying this or trying to establish this narrative for two and a half to three years now. What we want to make sure that in the past the way adam schiff ran this Intelligence Committee is to leak out only certain parts of the transcripts. What we have been asking for is full transparency because any time you are crossexamining somebody whether its a witness or in this case, somebody giving testimony that was supposedly part of this, we want to make sure that they are on record for all the different questions that are being asked. Neil so the other piece of information we got just came out of the blue from chairman schiff, saying there are other conversations. In other words, i think hes alluding to the possibility the president talked to his ukrainian counterpart zelensky a number of times. Do you know that to be the case . What we do know is adam schiff has had many conversations, some hes first denied, then we find out he wasnt being honest about. This has been going on for two and a half years and the basis of this, theres two parts of this. Theres the process and the substance. The process, many people have referred to as a sham or flaw because adam schiff is leading it and he has no credibility. Even last wednesday when we took the vote, even inside the Intelligence Committee, to give adam schiff full veto power and one of the quick things that they gave him the power to is to limit the Ranking Member devin nunes from yielding any time to the likes of people like John Ratcliffe and others that can crossexamine someone and i can understand why. Neil jim jordan wants in on the House Intelligence Committee right now. That could be a tough sell. He sits on oversight. Seeing its a select committee, house intelligence, thats up to nancy pelosi. A, why do you think he wants to do that and b, do you think nancy pelosi would let him do that . I dont know that she sees this through as far as allowing jim, jim is one of the most steady members of congress. He knows his stuff and when he comes to the part to play, he is prepared. I think its okay if in the rules, as long as you substitute another member, you would be able to have that. I think the speaker does have full veto power to say the least, but we hopefully can get the kind of people on there, we have got some good people that will ask the right questions to get to the bottom of what we know has been a sham process. Neil you know, sham process or not, democrats like to say we gave republicans what they wanted, yet we are still dealing with officials who refuse to talk. They are talking about omb official mike duffy who has yet to testify even though hes been told to, they just put out, you know, requests, so far requests for Mick Mulvaney, acting chief of staff. If these people keep saying no, are they violating this impeachment process . As you know it . I dont know that they are, but i want to back up just a little bit and say i dont know that they have provided the things that we are asking the things that we need. When you break historically break traditional protocol and even move the committee from an open process, judiciary, because it has different rules, into the intelligence, i think thats a flawed process. When you only leak out certain aspects of the testimony that creates your narrative, thats a problem. So before week neil they said you guys did, not you, specifically, in the clinton investigation, when republicans ran the shop. Whats different is the clinton and nixon, utilized Judiciary Committee because it was a fair and open process. What Speaker Pelosi and adam schiff have done is gone in the basement behind closed doors, they only sent out selective information that fits with the narrative neil and the Intelligence Committee, not the judiciary. We are told it will end up in judiciary. You confident that will be the case . I hope it will but heres the problem. Once you already set a narrative and only leak out certain information, then you are operating, its like dealing with one of your teenagers when you can threaten them on something, they want to be a little more distractive. I hope we can get to all the sources of the information and that can be the transparent process. Neil i hope you have better luck than i do with my teenagers. Let me ask you about the process because i know steny hoyer was saying not too long ago, congressman, that we want this wrapped up by the end of the year. Im looking at the calendar. Its six or seven weeks away. Yeah. I dont think its going to happen. The longer this drags out, i believe Speaker Pelosi knows this, the worse its going to be for our friends, the democratic friends on the other side of the aisle, because the American People want us to get about doing the business of the American People. Funding our troops. Weve got a trade deal that mexico and canada has already tried to encourage Speaker Pelosi to sign off on. The reason that she doesnt want to do it is because many of our democratic colleagues support the usmca which provides nearly 200,000 jobs for americans across the country. This shouldnt be part of the partisan politics. Unfortunately, Speaker Pelosi is playing it that way. Neil do you think there was any quid pro quo on the part of the president to get information and hang over ukraine all this aid, foreign aid . I dont read it that way. What i would say, if you have credible evidence of someone behaving in an illegal manner, does it prevent you from investigating even if it is a potential future opponent. Thats what we are not asking. Neil wouldnt you think it would be interesting if it were anyone else but i believe theres a history of looking and dealing with ukraine and some of the corruption. We know that its neil i know, but if it were joe biden, a real threat to the president at least early on, potential nominee of the democrats . I believe its more on the Previous Administration who did not handle the ukraine process. Weve got records even breaking news today some of the things hunter was doing in regards to requesting meetings with neil nothing you have heard thus far or can share with us now indicates that the president held up that 400 million in aid to ukraine . First of all, our ambassador was not even aware of it. Thats a huge point. The second thing thats very important is when you have two parties that are involved and both of them say listen, we didnt take any kind of wrongdoing, usually in our country, you are innocent until Proven Guilty in the context that Neither Party neil let me ask you, some of your republican colleagues say, you know, even if aid was delayed, thats not a quid pro quo, then the ex in levenext le if it was delayed and it was a quid pro quo, its not an impeachable offense. I would go as far as saying the president sometimes is very raw in his conversations. He can sometimes talk in terminology thats not always comfortable for me. But i think its his job as the commander in chief neil that wouldnt be impeachable to you . I dont believe it would be impeachable. You are talking about high crimes and treason, misdemeanor neil worst Case Scenario, holding up aid to a country, it eventually got there, it would if you compare it to some of the clips we have seen on joe biden where hes bragging about taking out the lead prosecutor in ukraine, we are seeing more and more information, if theres any quid pro quo in my opinion, it was what joe biden was doing, not the president. Neil all right. We will see what happens. Congressman, thank you very, very much. The gop vice chairman in the house. Much, much more. The dow is up all of about 75 points right now through all of this. If the markets are any way telegraphing concerns that this is building into something, again, as i say, funny way of showing it.
