But ecigarettes for teens, lets face it, the flavors are drawing them in. I think that includes menthol and mint, yes. Lauren as we look at the near 50500 cases of lung illnesses linked to vaping across the country, i have to ask you, is smoking safer than vaping at this point . First of all, no, smoking is not safer than vaping under any circumstances. We know what smoking does. It causes millions of cases of lung cancer a year and emphysema per year. We dont want anybody smoking and we dont want anybody watching this saying smoking is safer. I also want to point out when youre talking about illnesses, 450 illnesses across 33 states, were probably not talking about the ecigarettes that we already started with here. The flavored ecigarettes that teens are using. Were probably talking about some additive to a cannabis oil, probably some bootleg situation, something in a cannabis shop. Those are likely due to some additive that thickens the oil for vaping and is not the regular. Ecigarette product. I think theyre using this story to try to get attention to tilee ills and the harms.
