Overall, stocks are moving slightly higher ahead of the opening bell. Remember, this is a shortened day of trading because of the july 4th holiday. The market closes at 1 00 p. M. Eastern for the fourth of july. We are remembering an icon in the Business World. The ultimate salesman of all time, lee iacocca, has died at the age of 94. Hes best known as the father of the mustang and for saving the company chrysler. Well have much more on his impact throughout the morning. Varney company starts right now. David President Trump is changing the annual fourth of July Celebration in the Washington Mall thursday. It will include a flyover by military aircraft, more fireworks and the president will even give a speech of his own. The president is already tweeting about it. Quote, our july 4th salute to america at the Lincoln Memorial is looking to be really big. It will be the show of a lifetime. You can bet on that. Joining us is brad blakeman, former Deputy Assistant to george w. Bush, and someone who is going to be there. Im going to be there. David what do you think of this . Some people say its too political. I think its awesome. The American People have a right to see what they paid for. They want to appreciate our military. They want to see whats made in america, the finest military equipment the world has ever seen. You know the excitement of seeing air force one at 1,000 feet coming over the mall or seeing marine one, the new marine one debut or the Stealth Bomber . If anybody has ever seen the Stealth Bomber come so close to the ground, can you imagine what our enemies feel like when they see that . Thats why the iraqis thats why the kuwaitis surrendered. David some critics are really insulting, i mean, they really get under my skin because what they are saying essentially is that hes turning the United States into a fascist country. This is a country that defends democracy. By the way, its right in our national anthem, the bombs bursting in air. What do these critics think those words mean . And it wasnt just once that we fought for freedom. We continue to fight for freedom and the brave men and women in our military do that every day. Every day. You want to know something . The kids and the parents who go out there and its not just for trumps supporters. There are going to be a Million People out on the mall. They are going to remember this the rest of their lives. I remember ditching school when i was 17 in palm springs, california because president ford was coming for easter. I ditched school and walked a mile to the airport to see air force one. I remember the thrill of seeing that plane and seeing our president. Youll never forget it. David there are another group of americans that risk their lives every day and too many of them die in the line of duty. Those are our Border Patrol agents. They are now being criticized by people who know nothing, they walk into these detention centers, they suddenly have the truth more than the people who have been fighting on the line, on the border, for years and years, risking their lives. 40 have died in the past by the way, they are being accused of being racist when in fact, the last five Border Patrol agents to die in the line of duty were hispanics. They are calling hispanics who die in the line of duty antihispanic. Its not only nonsense but its insulting. Its worse than that. Its criminal to cause the kind of rhetoric that causes violence and that causes people to come to america. They are encouraging people to come here and then when they create a crisis, they say well, mr. President , why arent you caring for these people. Thats not their job. By the way, creating sanctuary cities, you dont think that that is an opportunity for people to get a signal that its okay to come here illegally and stay illegally because they are going to be sheltered . David how about free medical care, even more generous than that which is given to citizens being offered by all, every single democrat candidate raised their hand when they said would you provide it to Illegal Immigrants. This is why democrats have gone so far left, they are at the point of no return. David even joe biden raised his hand on that. Joe biden raised his hand, then tried to take it back. It was a one finger raise. It was like the kid in school, wants to get credit but its not going to work. You have to be selected by the party before youre elected by the people. Unfortunately, they will select somebody who is unelectable. David have fun tomorrow night. In addition to being a great patriotic event, you are allowed to have fun. It will be a great fun event. Thats what the fireworks are all about. Great to see you. Lets take a look at tesla. Posting record deliveries. Now, that is a change. Joining us is market watcher george see. This takes some of the pressure off of elon musk, doesnt it . Absolutely. It does in the short term. I think one of the things that we have in common with the tech bubble in the late 90s is that concept stocks are super popular again, whether its uber or lyft or tesla, and im glad for the company and for its employees and people who buy their cars that its had a little bit of an uplift this quarter but they still have a long way to go. They lost about a billion dollars last year. David what else do they have to do . The delivery issue was the key issue, was it not . I think the issue is actually making positive cash flow so they can actually justify their market cap and valuation. I would side with jim chenos who has been negative and short on this stock for a long time. Its a real speculative bet. I think anybody investing in it, i admire their risk taking appetite. David just to push back one more time, though, wont the delivery, the ability to meet their estimates for deliveries, wont that help them get another loan if they need it . In the short term, sure, it helps them a lot. The stocks going to rally dramatically this morning. Thats good for tesla and good for the country. I hope they have more success Going Forward. Well see. David all right. I have got to ask you about jobs. We just had the adp figure come out. 38,000 less than expected on new jobs created. Friday we get the big number. What are you expecting . I think the economy has softened. I think theres a lot of fear in the air over the tariff war with china and all the saber rattling we are doing around the world with various countries. Companies are telegraphing pretty transparently that they are going to have a soft earnings quarter for q2. I think the economy is slowing and jobs growth is slowing and we have had a record economic recovery and stock market boom. I think its natural for us to have a little softness right now. Im not too concerned about it. I think the markets will be in q3. I think q3 will be a tough quarter for the markets. David i think we are getting another telegraph and thats from the price of gold. Thats spiking again. Its well over 1400 now, 1419. 50 right now, gold is. I think its spiking because of Christine Lagarde. Shes the presumed next head of the central bank of europe. Do you think because she is such a big fan of negative Interest Rates, she might go ad infinitum with negative Interest Rates according to what shes written before, thats whats making gold spike and giving investors a little bit of concern there . If i was in charge of economic policy, Monetary Policy for an Economic Zone thats had about 1 growth for the past ten years, i would be crowing about how great negative Interest Rates are as well. Shes got a rough hand to play. I looked at gold this morning. The last eight years, golds down about 15 and the stock market is up about 140 . David but george, the reason why, the reason why europe is going slow is not because Interest Rates are not low enough or negative enough. Its because of the fact they keep raising their taxes, they keep raising the regulations, they keep finding new means of fining Business People. Thats why europe is slow, no . Demographically theyve got incredible challenges. They have got massive immigration issues and negative Interest Rates are a sign of weakness on the part of europe. I would hate to be europe and competing with us and the asian countries. They are really in a rough spot, no question. David good to see you, my friend. Happy july 4th. Thank you very much. You, too, david. Thank you. David a federal judge is getting ready to cut the damage award in the roundup cancer trial. Ash, you have the details . Ashley listen, this was an award of 18 million. The defendant said he got cancer from working around roundup. Bayer, who owns the roundup name, of course, when they bought monsanto, said there is absolutely no proof. The judge says we are going to have to cut this award. The amount is too much. It was 5 million in compensatory damages and 75 million in punitive. He said way too much. He could reduce that by down to 50 million. Still a big verdict, dont get me wrong. But the judge says the ratio here is all out of whack. Even the constitution in california says you cant allow this kind of award. However, lets not forget that bayer faces another at least 13,400 lawsuits along the very same name. David hold on, we have a very special guest coming on later this hour, and there he is. Hes going to be ringing the opening bell at nyse. This is a medal of honor recipient. As you well know, there are very few of these gentlemen alive right now. This is one, the first living medal of honor recipient for his actions during the iraq war. He was in fallujah. He was in an unbelievable situation in which he had to fight his way out of a house that was swarming with terrorists. This was in the worst days of fallujah, if you remember, right before the surge that essentially took care of that problem. But this is a man who was right in the thick of things and he finally deserved the award that he deserved. He absolutely deserved that award. As most medal of honor recipients, hes a little shy about what he did but again, he is arriving at nyse. He will be ringing the opening bell at the bottom of the hour. Susan class on at the floor of the Stock Exchange. Very, very respectful of the armed forces that make an appearance at the new york Stock Exchange. There you go. Showing their respect. David amazing man. Theres his family coming to join him there, as we hear i believe thats the starspangled banner being played behind him. Again, its going to be a great honor to welcome him on Varney Company but he will be here at the bottom of the hour. Staff Sergeant David balavia. Well be right back. Truecar is great for finding new cars. Youre smart, you already knew that. But its also great for finding the perfect used car. Youll see what a fair price is and you can connect with a truecar certified dealer. Now youre even smarter. This is truecar. David believe it or not, perhaps this was the intention all the time, dow component nike catching some heat for pulling the shoe featuring the betsy ross flag. You know, the point is that they love controversy. I dont think its a coincidence at all that this thing came out during july 4th week. Susan very good point. It looks like their decision to pull the shoe also confused a lot of their internal nike employees as well. Why does Colin Kaepernick even matter since he wasnt even endorsing this shoe and usually only athletes endorse their own brand of shoe gets a say. Nike says look, we are so proud of the American Heritage, our American Heritage and we made the decision to halt distribution of the air max 1 quick strike fourth of july based on concerns that it could unintentionally offend and detract from the nations patriotic holiday. Okay. So david i dont buy that for a second. Susan arizonas governor has stepped in because apparently nike was looking at arizona to build a 185 Million Manufacturing facility which would have employed 500 employees. Arizonas governor says you know, we dont want you if you dont want to be patriotic. New mexicos governor says come on down, hey, nike, lets talk. Want to bring your money, well still accept it. But theres been a lot of controversy about this. You know, even those that Research American flags and those who trash extremism, they say some extremist groups have tried to appropriate the betsy ross flag but it isnt widely used by white nationalists or far right groups as a symbol, so its surprising that david i have not seen that symbol used by far right groups. I looked for it yesterday. I googled it. I couldnt find it. Lets stay on nike and bring in the host of the new marriage rescue. I think this was all a plan by nike because they have done well with controversy, with the first kaeperni kaepernick row. You think this is round two . I do. It worked the first time. Why not go at it the second time. Why even get into this . Why did nike recognize him within this process . David its amazing that one guy has so much influence susan hasnt played since 2016, mind you. David thats why i think the whole thing is kind of a setup. The one benefit, i would say, from this whole controversy, it has instilled in a lot of people a willingness to fight stronger for patriotism. Dont you think . I completely agree. When you take a look at that flag, one of our original flags, whats more patriotic than that . The symbolism of that is not right, not left, hasnt been used by any organization for any negative purpose, its all positive. David thats right. To switch it that way has to be coordinated. I think its very strategic. David the interesting thing is nike is an organization and a lot of these sports organizations are built on logos. You can say it might be trivializing it a bit, but that the American Flag is a logo for america, for what it stands for. There have been individuals who have died for that flag, carrying that flag into battle, but it is probably the strongest symbol i would say in the entire world right now, is the American Flag. So to attack the flag, it was a little different with the first kaepernick goround. This is attacking the flag. Kaepernick of course said he was never against the flag. Now it turns out he was. Apparently hes against the 13 original colonies which is really what that flag represents which makes no sense whatsoever. David its the symbol of freedom in the world and will continue to be so. Stay with us. We are happy to have you here for the hour. More john in a moment, including this one. Sober bars, have you heard about a sober bar . Thats a nonalcoholic, an oxymoron. They are popping up in cities all over the country as more millenials are apparently ditching alcohol. What does this mean for the liquor industry . Who better to ask than the man who does bar rescue . And heres a look at futures. They are up, particularly looking at tesla and how the market responds and investors respond even on a july 4th holiday week. Well be right back. Hey, who are you . Oh, hey jeff, im a car thief. What . im here to steal your car because, well, thats my job. What . What . . What . laughing what . . What . what . [crash] what . haha, it happens. And if youve got cutrate car insurance, paying for this could feel like getting robbed twice. So get allstate. And be better protected from mayhem. Like me. Its a revolution in sleep. The sleep number 360 smart bed is on sale now during our lowest prices of the season. It senses your movement, and automatically adjusts to keep you both comfortable. It even helps with this. So you wake up ready to hit the ground running. Dont miss our 4th of july special with the queen sleep number 360 c4 smart bed now 1299. Plus, free premium delivery when you add a base. Ends sunday. Sleep number. Proven, quality sleep. David talk about a sign of the times. Sober bars are growing in popularity. Back to the host of bar rescue. More millenials are cutting back but sober bars . Its a contradiction in terms. Not necessarily. When you think about it, you can drink at home but bars are all about social interaction. Thats what really makes bars work. Millenials david without alcohol, its a coffee house, right . People arent quite as loose. They might not have as much fun. They might not be quite as friendly to each other as they are with the influence of alcohol but this is a powerful trend. I really think that david you really think its going to succeed . I do. When we take a look at coffee houses, coffee houses have almost programmed people below drinking age for the social environment. You sit around a small little table, we have a little coffee, we talk together. This is the same thing. David but, but, but so whats the difference between a sober bar and a coffee house . Theres no alcohol available. Sober bar basically, its not virgin cocktails or just soft drinks. Theyre mixed, shaken fruit drinks and specialty cocktails and things you cant get anyplace else. But you are still having a social experience. David what does a brit think about that . Ashley millenials, come out to the bar, have some drinks, meet your friends, have some fun. They dont sit around and talk at little tables. David thats part of it as well. Susan and whats the problem . You want to be social, hang with people, whats wrong with that . David very quickly, marriage rescue is another one of your shows now. Do you think you could have saved the bezos marriage . Oh, boy. The biggest reason for divorce is financial issues. Thats clearly not their problem. David shes only getting 30 billion. She didnt get all of it. Ashley 38. Theres not a financial dilemma thats causing this. I would guess no. Its been such a tough road and its been so ugly at times. Im guessing theyre at a point of no return. David are there any marriages you think you could save but after listening to all the details, you realize maybe it shouldnt be saved . Sure. Sure. I think theres a bunch of, you know, when you think about the greatest divorces and marriages of all time, Elizabeth Burton Elizabeth Taylor richard burton, four times they were married. Statistically, a great majority of people who get divorced get remarried. The numbers almost 20 . Its a big number. So you get divorced, you regret it. David we want to make the opening bell. Stay with us. Well be right back. David strong accusations against a former google executive. Susan has the details. Susan the Google Android creator, and his 90 million pay package, basically that was what instigated the walkouts across a lot of google campuses, especially amid Sexual Harassment allegations at the company. Its interesting that in an unsealed complaint that was filed in a San Mateo Court in california, this relates back to rubins ongoing divorce from his exwife and the prenuptial agreement they signed so there might be monetary motivation here, but she is alleging he had affairs with multiple women, some of these affairs, the lawsuit states, that includes ownership relationship of these women meaning he would pay and then share the women. It was very, very salacious. Yeah. Some of these messages include apparently the wife has claimed abuse in some of these relationship shall we say messages. David sometimes you just dont want to hear this. I know theres a lot of salacious stuff. Sometimes you just dont want to hear it. We wish him the best. The opening bell on wall street, but we have a very strong connection with whats going on at the nyse because you can see a military officer there, noncommissioned staff Sergeant David bellavia, a medal of honor recipient. In a short while he will join us on Varney Company. We are very, very blessed and honored to have him as one of our guests today. He had an extraordinary experience in fallujah, iraq. He will tell you about that in 20 minutes. You want to stick around for the staff sergeant. Meanwhile, quick check of the board and we are starting in a plus category which is good news, back to where we were on monday. We are up 63 points on the dow. Lets get a look at the s p. Which is doing also well, i believe we are in the green. We are. In fact, this is an alltime high which is not a bad place to be on the day before july 4th. Again, an alltime high with the s p 500. That is great news. Check the nasdaq. We are well over that 8,000 mark again. 8,125 and we are up about a quarter of a percent, up 17 points on the nasdaq. Check the tenyear. Lets see whats happening with the bond yields. The tenyear is under 2. 0 now. 1. 96 , possibly reflecting again, Christine Lagarde taking over the European Central bank, or about to. And that is leading to a pop in gold. Gold has actually come down. Its up 9. 50. It was up double digits earlier in the morning but its still way over 1400 for an ounce. 1417. 1,417. 40 for an ounce of gold. Joining us now, shah gilani, jack hough, john tapper, susan li, ashley webster. We have to start with tesla. Posting those record deliveries. Shah, will that quiet the tesla bears out there . I dont think so. I think its going to quiet the shorts for a little while. I think the reason the stock is popping is because the shorts are covering. Dont forget, they had over 400,000 preorders for various vehicles so meeting some of that demand is par for the course. Its good for them but i dont think its going to require additional demand from anywhere. Competition is creeping up on tesla. I think generally speaking, the market has been too generous and i think the stock is still headed further down. I was short awhile ago, i covered back at 200 and looking for another place to short it. David we had a tesla bear on earlier saying hes still shorting it, that he thinks they are still burning through cash like they used to. Yes, they are delivering now. Yes, it might make it easier to get another loan, but with that cash burn you still have a problem. Lets wait until we see the financials before we make a decision here. This is just about orders. You know, they are delivering these newer cars. We know the margins on those are worse than they are for the more mature cars and orders for those, my understanding is they are falling off a cliff. This might actually be worse for teslas situation. I want to wait to see the financials. Ashley youre right on the margins as they try to bring the price down. This isnt a delivery story anymore. Its a demand story. Tesla claims they have a nice backlog going into the Third Quarter but as you say, those q2 earnings, i want to see exactly whats under the hood. I dont think its pretty. David you probably have a tesla, dont you . I do not. David im surprised. When i tried to get one, i couldnt get one. They werent delivering. Susan the china story as well, they just broke ground in the new shanghai factory so they are looking to sell also in now the largest auto markets. David they are dealing with domestic sales in china, right . Susan right. Also, theres a big investment need as well. 5 billion. They have just one or two right now. They need investor dollars to get that up and running. David we have a jobs number i want to talk about. I do want to talk about gold and whats happening at the Central Banks but we had a disappointing jobs stat from adp. 102,000 private sector jobs created in june, that is 38,000 less than what was expected. Does that concern you, shah . No, it doesnt concern me. Theres some seasonality in here and also, i think in terms of the market, they probably like the low number because the idea there is the fed is more than likely to cut rates Going Forward if they continue to see slowing in employment growth. I think its a positive for the market. Doesnt bother me. I dont think the economy is sinking. I think its maybe cooling down a little bit but we will probably grow at least 2 in gdp. Doesnt have much longterm effect, i dont believe. David jack . I will agree with that. Jobs have been good news, they remain good news. If i want to point to bad news i will be looking at other measures beyond jobs, you know. If this is a sustained trend i will be concerned. David what if we get a really low number on friday, or negative number . Jack . If its that low, then i will think is this some kind of onetime effect, whats going on here. If it seems really out of whack with recent numbers. David we were talking about the fed earlier. Shah, you brought that up. President trump is about to nominate judy shelton and Christopher Waller to the Federal Reserve. Shelton is a fan of the Gold Standard which is a very interesting thing. Thats one reason i think gold is popping today, because actually because of whats happening in europe. If shelton is actually put in at the fed, the United States Central Bank Policy could be exactly diametrically opposed to whats happening in europe with Christine Lagarde, right . Not necessarily. Shes definitely dovish in her approach in terms of the Federal Reserve. David shes not in favor of negative Interest Rates the way lagarde is. No. David shes in favor of the Gold Standard. Which i dont frankly understand. I think thats going to be a problem for her facing any kind of confirmation hearings, because the Gold Standard, the idea of a Gold Standard is anachronistic at best. The idea of that happening is zero to none. Thats a bit problematic. David i am hearing, by the way, the reason im skeptical, shah, i dont mean to be obnoxious about this but i have been hearing more talk in washington that the president himself is in favor of the Gold Standard. That in fact, some of his advisers including steve forbes, by the way, that still is able to whisper in the president s ear, a big Gold Standard guy, the appointment of judy shelton is an indication that thats a direction in which the president is going. I think you could be right but i kind of agree with shah. I hate to say, i think the likelihood of that at this stage is pretty minimal. Susan also archaic as well. There are people in certain countries that own more gold than others. You are shifting the global power dynamics. David no doubt. Remember, this is a disruptor president. This is a president that likes to disrupt the status quo. Go ahead, shah. But it flies directly into the face of what the Federal Reserve is able to do in terms of lowering rates. David i understand. I understand. If its tied to gold, their hands are tied. Thats really opposite what the fed wants, what the president wants. The president said over and over again he wants lower rates. The market says we are going to get lower rates. I think he needs to be careful. David why is he appointing judy shelton . No answer. No answer. Why is he appointed judy shelton . Shes dovish with rates but is a Gold Standard person. Shes not giving that up. Thats theoretical, i think. Lets give her that. David all right. All right. I love the theoreticals. Lets check on the big board here. It is still up. As i just saw, by the way, i saw bitcoin, its now over 11,000. Susan what goes up must come down. Thats what happens when you push rates toward zero all the time. People buy nonsense. David you think the libra is nonsense as well . Facebooks crypto . This is going to become a flight to nonsense, as we begin lower rates. Susan i dont know about that. Legitimate banks including jpmorgan have been developing their own blockchain currencies. Thats different. Thats tech. David lets check shares of ford. Overall sales are down 4. 1 but the stock is actually up a little bit. Suv sales were down more than 8 . Trucks are still selling. Theyve got the truck market. Its up 7. 5 . The strongest in 15 years. They cant lose on trucks. Oil, look at the price of regular gas, National Average is 2. 74. Thats up overnight. Oil is up as well. All right. We are going to be talking about lee iacocca all day. We are remembering, he really was an icon in the Business World. Auto executive lee iacocca has died, he was 94. Iacocca came from very humble beginnings. He was the son of italian immigrants. He rose to become one of the most powerful players in detroits auto industry. Remember the big three . He got his start at ford, he was an engineer there. He led the team that designed the mustang which is still strong after all these years. He rose to the rank of president before being fired by henry ford ii. That was a big todo. Iacocca landed on his feet. He got hired as chryslers ceo, helped that company avoid bankruptcy by securing a loan from the federal government. But the key is, this is what most americans remember, he was an ad man at heart and he kept being an ad man, a pitchman. He was one of the few ceos who actually went on tv to sell his products. I think he was the first to do that. First to really come out on tv, sell his products. He coined the phrase if you can find a better car, go ahead and buy it. Watch. If you dont agree theyre the best chryslers ever made, the very best america has to offer at a sensible price, then im in the wrong business. Oh, one more thing. If you can find a better car, buy it. David i love it. Lee iacocca was 94. He was a real icon. He was a salesman at heart. Thats what i love. All Business People no matter what you do, you got to be a salesman. Not only did he do that, he personalized the brand. When you bought a chrysler, you were buying it from him. There was an individual accountability to the brand. Lee wouldnt let you down. So you bought a chrysler personalizing the brand. David he was powerful for that brand, for his company. Some of which i didnt like. You passed over the mans biggest accomplishment. Forget about the mustang. Forget the suv. You know im a passionate mini van driver. This man created the mini van. David i didnt know that. Susan 1980s, yeah. David lee iacocca gone at 94. Thank you, everybody. Actor jon voight will be at President Trumps rally for freedom tomorrow, standing right alongside gold star families. They are the best. First before that, he is stopping by Varney Company. You will see him today during our 11 00 a. M. Hour. Jon voight. Dont miss him. One analyst says netflix could make 1 billion in extra revenue each year if they allow advertising on the site. Wait a minute. Youre paying for netflix, paying for advertising . Whats up with that . Netflix actually taking that plunge . That story is next. How do you gauge the greatness of an suv . Is it to carry cargo or to carry on a legacy . Its show of strength or its sign of intelligence . In crossing harsh terrain or breaking new ground . This is the time to get an exceptional offer on the mercedes of your midsummer dreams at the mercedesbenz summer event, going on now. Lease the gla 250 suv for just 329 a month at the mercedesbenz summer event. Mercedesbenz. The best or nothing. David some democrats on the House Financial Services Committee Want facebook to halt its plan to develop a Digital Currency platform. Joining us, mark douglas. He helps companies with their social media presence. You think politicians are going to get anywhere with stopping the libra . They can certainly try but the worlds allowed to have other currencies. The u. S. Currency is not the only currency in the world. So the fact that i think its an emotional response to the idea of netflix taking a bigger hold in society but i dont see any laws that actually prevent netflix from doing that. David im wondering, though, if they can i mean, they are called law makers. They can make laws. You think they might try to go so far as to make a law to prevent facebook from doing this . I think its possible but whats interesting, they are asking facebook to slow down the launch of the libra. They had ten years to anticipate these kind of currencies. David wait a minute. Politicians cant anticipate what Companies Come up with. Bitcoin is totally okay but the minute facebook jumps into it, lets slow things down. Come on. You had a decade to anticipate this. David lets talk about netflix. Because there is a story out there that they are actually thinking of putting ads on, to which i said wait a minute, im paying for netflix. I dont want to have to pay to watch ads. Whats the story on that . Well, i think its actually very likely and i think its likely soon. Heres why. When disney announced disney plus pricing, it was 6. 99. David sounds like a great deal. Everyone was like this is amazing, its half the price of netflix. My response is, there will be ads. So they make 6. 99 on the subscription, then they make another 7 per household on the ads. So now netflix looks twice as expensive. I think its likely they offer ad support. David disney knocked down that barrier because they will be putting ads on and netflix will pick it up. They must be anticipating, some people say im quitting, im not going to pay you my monthly fee plus watching ads. If youre paying 14, which i think is the average price point right now, that version wont have ads. Its only if you want to pay half that price. I think they will introduce ads and thats twhar heir way to st competitive. David i think of taxes when i think of ads. Taxes always start small, then they end up bigger and bigger and involving more and more people. Is that going to happen with netflix . At first it will just be the lowest tier, then work its way up to higher tiers . I dont think so. I think a lot of these businesses, hulu has an adfree price point plus an adsupported price point. Basically the adsupported is less than the adfree. This is a pretty standard business model. Its just netflix has been no ads at all and i think they have to start introducing that. Remember also, netflix is worldwide. You know, so they need a price point that works in every country. David you dont think its going to hurt the stock . I dont. I think it will actually help the stock. I think the Immediate Reaction will be that this is a negative but once people realize disney has ads, then everyone will think okay, they anticipated that. Now they have a price point thats competitive with everyone in the market. David you say disney could double its income from this from the ad side. Right. In a skinny bundle right now, that hulu bundle that youtube live bundle, disney is already getting 7 from ads, right. So theyre just tacking on seven to the seven you pay. Thats the one where you should say im paying them and i have to watch ads . They are getting 7 twice. David i havent gone for disney yet because my kids are grown up. But netflix, i dont know, i might think twice about paying that monthly fee if they put ads on there. Everyone says that until they want to watch something. David thats true. We were just talking about that. Theres a new series called the last czar i want to see. Thank you very much for being here. Appreciate it. All right. Well, delta says its going to be launching new perks for economy passengers on international flights. Susan, free alcohol . Whats up with that . Susan how would you like to step into economy being greeted with welcome cocktails, mix and match meal options, also hot Towel Service as well, all in economy. This is what delta is offering in november this year. We dont have pricing just yet. Will it cost you more. This is a way for delta to differentiate itself amongst its competitors going across the atlantic, intercontinental as well. Yes, margins are smaller even though there are more people in economy, you make the big margins and more money for business and first class. David flying edition of bar rescue for john. Wish they would bring in liquor responsponsors and stucu. David coming up, ladies and gentlemen, a true American Hero on this july 4th week. The first living iraq war veteran to receive the medal of honor, just rang the opening bell at the new york Stock Exchange. Hes talking to us, next. All right brad, once again i have revolutionized the songwriting process. Oh, here we go. I know i cant play an instrument, but this. This is my forte. Obviously, for Auto Insurance, weve got the wheel route. Obviously. Retirement, were going with a longterm play. Makes sense. Pet insurance, wait, let me guess. Flea flicker. Yes howd you know . Studying my playbook . Yeah, actually. David President Trump awarded the medal of honor to Army Veteran David bellavia. He is the only living iraq war vet to receive that honor and he joins us now. Staff sergeant, i cant tell you what a great honor it is to talk to you. Thank you very much for being here. Appreciate everything youve done in your whole life. You know, this is something that is tough to talk about, but sometimes heroes have a very tough time being designated as heroes. They feel that the real heroes were left behind. Do you have any of that inside of your conscience . I dont, because i belong to part of a fraternity that has about 800,000 heroes, the United States army. And my unit, you know, these are men who literally sacrificed their lives. We lost four guys in fallujah but they did it for me, they did it for my brothers. This was a unit that literally bled for each other every single day. Its awkward to get the recognition but its incredible to share that recognition with all the men of our company. David what a great, great attitude. Thats the best way i have ever heard it put. I know it could also be difficult to talk about your war experiences but can you briefly describe the circumstances that led to you getting the medal of honor . We were in the city of fallujah, the second battle in november 2004, and my platoon got caught in a house, we got ambushed. We started taking some casualties and we did what Young Americans have done since 1775. We showed we saw chaos and craziness on the battlefield, and we did what american warriors do which is fight through it. We did it together, shoulder to shoulder, and you know, thats how we delivered ourselves from it. So its a shared award, its our shared valor, its our common story, and im the guy that just borrows this award and wears it. David you know, staff sergeant, nobody knows patriotism the way you do and the way others who have fought for it do, but there is a move now afoot to denigrate the sacrifices that have been made for freedom. Even to denigrate the flag that represents those sacrifices. What do you make of that . Well, you know, dissent has been at the core of america since the very beginning. Im from western new york and not too far from where i live, there were loyalists to king george that settled the other side of the niagara river. This isnt anything new. Its part of the great experiment. God bless america, speak your mind, say whatever you want to say, but rest assured that there are men and women who are at the point of the spear that are willing to bleed and die for your ability to do it. David what does the flag mean to you . Its a representative symbolism of what this country, whats at its core. Men and women who have died thats the last thing we remember thats literally laid over their remains. It has a very solemn and it means a whole lot to us. It might not mean that to everyone else but i dont really care about everyone else. I care about the veterans, i care about the guys i served with and what that flag means to us. Its very important to us. You can do whatever you want with it, but i guarantee you we will show the honor and reverence that that flag deserves. David you fought for freedom, you were willing to die for freedom. Would you be willing to do so again . You talk to any veteran, im 43, im a little out of shape, but my country calls me to action, youre going to have to fight to get in line because every veteran will tell you the same thing. Were soldiers for life, were not just our time. We do this for our whole life and we are professionals when we come home. We want to be looked at as soldiers for the rest of our lives, what we represent, the generation that came before us, the generations that will come after us. This is a lifetime commitment and we are proud to have that commitment. David staff sttergeant, you gi me goose will did bumps. Its a great honor to have you here. Best of luck to you and your family. I know they are the other heroes that are often unsung. God bless them, god bless you and god bless america. Thank you, staff sergeant. Well be right back. 7 hey, who are you . Oh, hey jeff, im a car thief. What . im here to steal your car because, well, thats my job. What . What . . What . laughing what . . So get allstate. And be better protected from mayhem. Like me. On a scale of one to five . One to five . Its more like five million. Theres everything from happy to extremely happy. Theres also angry. Im really angry clive actually, really angry. Thank you. But what if your business could understand what your customers are feeling. And then do something about it. Turn problems into opportunities. Thanks drone. Customers into fanatics change the whole experience. Alright who wants to go again . I do i do i have a really good feeling about this. David 10 00 in new york, 7 00 on the west coast. Im dave as man in for stuart this week. Lets check the big board. It aint bad on the day before july 4th. Were up 60 points from the dow. Gold is getting a pop. Well talk about that. First we have breaking economic data. There is a lot of data coming in even though a holiday week. Susan, mortgage rates. Susan 3. 75 for a 30year fixed mortgage. David two basis points. Susan 2 1 2year low we saw last week. Theyre talking about stabilization in the housing market. There are bright spots when it comes to housing which make up 1 5 of economy. David ashley. Ainsley service sector, a big part of the economy, came in at 55. 1. It missed estimates, shows a continuing slowing down in that particular area. Also, that is bad news, good news, far the fed goes. Help the fed maybe make a rate cut . Who knows. Down slightly. But still in the expansion area. Anything above 50 david right. Similar news on the adp figures and jobs. Missed expectations but it wasnt horrible. Susan correct. David we got latest read on factory orders. Susan month of may factory orders down 1. 7 . They were looking for slowdown half a percentage point lower for the month. Coming back from a horrific april when we saw declines of 1 1 2 . This is better, i would say stablizing. David look at shares of tesla. They put uproared delivery numbers, if you put tesla up on the screen. Up quite significantly. Up 14. 56. That is about six 1 2 percentage point jump. Market watcher bradley tusk. This is question will this put a some of the bears to rest . Temporarily. Fundamentally there is almost a crazy dynamic with tesla, elon makes the big pronouncements. Stock swings wildly. Rather than looking at fundamentals over a long period of time, everyone is obsessed did this guy keep his word in this particular time or not . Sometimes he does, sometimes he doesnt. David right. Is it good for them to hit the goals in q2 . Absolutely. Is the company word over 40 billion . The only consistency for tesla the way they burn cash, right . They are very good at spending money. Is it good for society, do they have Ambitious Goals for society absolutely. For them succeed and priced appropriately are two different things. David you know who is better than burning mon city in any politician in america. New york city is perfect example. You worked for mayor bloomberg, i think was the last great mayor. The current mayor is a disaster. He increased his expenses by over 30 . More than any mayor in the history of this city. We go back many centuries in this city. What do you think of that . Were increasing our expenses enormously in manhattan, things are getting dirtier. The homeless problem is crisis in new york. Not as bad as it is in l. A. But it is getting there, what do you think . De blasio has been lucky, a the economy is generally good nationally as mayor, as a result trickles down to the city. Two, you had 12 years of mike, eight years of rudy before. You had 20 years of pretty competent governances. They dont david crime stats brought down dramatically. That all helped keep the city afloat. Fundamental lip the cities are not inherently clean, not inherently safe, not inherently good places. Theyre as good as management we have. David you have to work at. He doesnt come to work. He only works 20, 25 hours a week. Under seven separate grand jury investigations for corruption. On top of that seems no real interest in the operation of city. Put that all together, eventually, it doesnt add up. Well have real problems. David not just happening here. It is in l. A. Of all places, austin, texas. Yeah. David we want to talk about that. Stay here, bradley. State capital austin, allows homeless to set up camp in the city. Joining us matt ma cove yak, tax paying group. Residents cant be happy about that, are they . There has been a firestorm since the sit council took the action. We have compassion for Homeless People in our city. Panhandling gone up. Homeless population is swelling. Downtown is over run with the problem. The city council for some reason passes an ordinance, they can cam anywhere on public property. Doesnt include parks but sidewalks in front much businesses. Even in front of private hopes. You could literally wake up one morning find Homeless People camping on the sidewalk in front of your home. Literally nothing you can do about it. The Austin Police association is very worried about this. Opposes it. Taxpayers are very frustrated. This threatens our tourism industry. Entirely unwise. Thankfully our Governor Abbott will overturn this. Were not in legislative session for two years, yearandahalf. Early 2021. Well have to suffer through this for some time unless the city wakes up. David not only threatens your commerce, threatens your health. There is reason why civilizations were born. One of those reasons to make it so that people can live together without getting sick. When you allow for public, you say camping, that is nice word for it, we have to be clear about it, it is happening in l. A. People deaf indicating on the defecating on the streets leads to typhus. I used to cover the third world. I would see typhus occasionally in the worst countries. Were seeing in los angeles. You may be seeing it in austin. That is exactly right. When you try to identify Homeless Individuals with mental health, drug abuse problems, get them the help they need, try to transition the rest of the Homeless Population to be selfsufficient, start working, building your own life. This is not the way to do that. They need to be in homeless shelters safe and protected. Unfortunately austin is looking model of San Francisco and los angeles, trying to emulate it. David extraordinary, bradley, new york. In new york you have in columbus circle, most people who know new york, columbus circle, i want to go to bradley, it is essentially a tent city without tents. You go there in the morning. In order to get to the time warner building which has a lot of shops and a lot of commerce in time warner, tourists who come to manhattan walk through columbus circle. They have nice flowers and fountains. You dont want to walk through it, Homeless People are stinging up the place, grabbing on your pants leg to get money. Very aggressive panhandling going on. Harms commerce. City councils in different cities, austin, l. A. , new york, whatever they mean well but they cant see the forest for the trees, right . To your point de blasio spending going up by 30 , there is not real conception what generates wealth, what pays taxes what allows things to actually happen. If you dont understand inputs you dont understand how it affects the outputs. In this case, yeah they might mean well but as a result, theyre ultimately hurting City Residents who need fire services, police services, schools. At the end of the day, the money comes from Something Else, whether we lose tax revenue through tourism, less jobs or Something Else that doesnt work. David matt, thank you very much. Bradley come back in something near and dear to your heart. Mobile voting a lot of people including myself making it too easy to vote. Yeah. David i think that citizenship is something that you need to work for. You need to work for it to get it, to keep it as well. That is why i have some concerns about mobile voting but youre in favor of it. Talk me into it . Look. Here in new york city weve been talking about. Whether it is the homeless encampment rules, de blasio, i dont know if you saw front page of the New York Post last couple days, amazing performing Charter School in the bronx, de blasio is trying to get rid of them because teachers unions doesnt want it. David they are trying to kill it. Amazon taking 25,000 jobs in queens, incredibly low turnout primaries the far, far left vote. 8. 6 Million People in the city. He won both mayoral primaries with 300,000 votes. Less than 4 of the citys population. He says i have to keep the 4 happy. Tend to be big unions or most leftwing activists whose policies are not good for david wrap it up, running short of time. We. Radical policies, bring things to the center. David takes power away from activists who have stranglehold on city council. That is the idea. Absolutely. David are you worried at all about somebody hacking them. We done them in west virginia, denver, multiple fbi audits. Former officials come back clean. Well keep testing. So far, so good. David paint me skeptical, youre talking me into it. I will come back on to talk about. David thank you very much. President trump and chinas xi xinping agreeing to hold off on new tariffs at the g20 summit in japan this weekend. Our tech expert, dan ives says apple is actually the biggest winner out of this agreement. He will explain why coming up. Nike is standing by the decision to pull the sale of its betsy ross flagthemed sneaker. It doesnt want to offend and detract from the fourth of july holiday. Hard to believe that. Well see what Brian Kilmeade makes of all this. Well speak with a ceo who once called donald trump a fake businessman and patrick byrne, the overstock guy. What does he think of donald trump now . David quick check of the big board on the plusside. That is good news on the day before the fourth. Happy holidays. Celebrate americas founding and our freedoms we have and cherish. Journal reporting that facebook and youtube are overrun with fake Cancer Treatment claims. Susan, what are they doing to stop it . Susan basically they changed their algorithms. Facebook said they have done that this year and alphabets youtube. This is wall street journal investigative piece, looking at medical snake oil, a lot of dubious claims of alternative Cancer Treatments they advertised on facebook and also youtube. Youtube for its part, they sent us a statement, part of the eight 1 2 million videos they took down, included dubious advertisements. Were not perfect but seen progress in the space. Cancer treatments, videos from authoritative sources usually at the top. Theyre ranking more credible sources at the top of the news feed or top of youtube searches. David theyre tweaking it but not trying to totally eliminate the thing . Susan First Amendment rights. If you pay to advertise, up to the consumer to look into it. David yeah. But you can refuse advertising. Dr. Mark siegel, patients asking about the Snake Oil Cures . All the time. David really . Im of two mind of this. Susan gave a great intro to this. I am of two minds. If facebook does this, you know, professionally, it is going to cut down on snake oil sales. It will cut down on antivacsers. That led to the Measles Outbreak this year. But im for it, but its a slippery slope, david. What happens when the government get involved and overpolice something . To susans report does facebook know what is snake oil and isnt . I know, not just me, doctors like me, patients come to me all day long with a long list but i really want facebook deciding what is a quack cure or isnt or youtube . Sometimes todays alternative treatment is tomorrows cure. If it was just for information gathering. I like david take other side of that for a second here because you and i both, we talked about this before off camera. We know people who get side tracked from real treatment, sick people who get sidetracked from real treatment that would help them, that could save their lives. Instead they go for the snake oil. They die as a result. These, thats criminal and that has to be stopped. Isnt facebook, its a worthy venture to try to stop that . Especially since patients, consumers, slash patients were getting bombarded. Injecting baking soda, real outlyers, real unhealthy stuff, real dangerous stuff. Im pointing it out. Im agreeing with you, be careful where we draw the line here. I dont want facebook deciding what is good medicine. We have a little gee whiz medicine for you. Researchers have apparently eliminated, that is a word we dont often use in medicine, eliminated the hivdna from mice, not human beings. Dr. Siegel this sounds like a good breakthrough to me. Is it . It is on the road to. Yes to big breakthrough. Theyre using antiviral drugs against hiv. Theyre taking crisper cast 9, a gene editor, editing out the hiv gene after they already bombard it with antiviral. Here is what i want to say. That is the treatment of the future. That is the treatment of the future. David not just for hiv but all virus. All viruses. It is terrific. One warning sign. It is in mice. Only work in nine out of 23 mice. So were not there yet. Three, once you start genetically manipulating the body there is downstream effect on other genes. David good point. There was a concern you started this, get rid of hiv but more susceptible to the flu virus. We dont know that is true but there is no such thing as a perfect solution. Im for the research but be very, very careful. David be careful, it could be a breakthrough. It is. David not only for hiv sufferers, but people suffering from other viruses as well . This is the virus treatment for the future the well general ethically he had it out viruses. David good to see you, dr. Siegel. The s p 500 hit a new record high we talked about earlier. Up 19 for the year. Congratulations to everybody. More varney after this. Wanna take your xfi to the next level . Now you can with xfi advantage. Giving you enhanced performance and protection. When devices are connected to your homes wifi, theyre protected. Helping keep outsiders from getting inside. And if someone tries, well let you know. So you can stream, surf and game all you want, with confidence you can get coverage where you need it most. Thats xfi advantage. Make your xfi even better. Upgrade today. Call, click or visit a store. David check the big board. The president certainly is. This is the dow. That is a nice jump on day before july 4th. 70 point to the plus side. Take a look at s p. Because the s p is the president has reminded us in a tweet just sent out moments ago is now at another alltime high. By the way, the record close was 2973. We dont know where if will close of course. We have an early closing time, one p. M. Eastern time. So were only a few hours away from the close. We are pretty close. It is early to say it is going to end at a record. Certainly at a record now. That is wonderful news for the economy, for your 401 k and just for living in america, folks. Our next guest once called President Trump a fake businessman. Is he now rethinking the trump presidency. Joining us patrick byrne, good old friend of mine, ceo of overstock. Com, founder of that company. Patrick, have you changed your mind on trump . I thought we were talking blockchain. David we will. But lets talk trump first. Okay. What else, i gave that interview a couple weeks before the election. That may have been a stale ham sandwich speaking. I think it was the same interview, i was saying hillary belongs in an orange jumpsuit. So i probably was just, i think i had a stale ham sandwich that day. I will say two nice things about President Trump. None of that matters. I happened to be on your show the night president obama got elected. David i remember that. I remember some of the folks on the show grousing, be a little bit unsportsmanlike. I remember pointing out then, the guy didnt elect himself. He won, fair and square. He is the president. Show respect and such. I thought, i didnt really like it in the campaign when candidate trump was saying, when he wouldnt come down whichever way the election goes i stand behind it, i think he should have done, it was horrible for him to do that for a few days. I think what the democrats have done for a couple years since then has been extremely unsportsmanlike. David but it is trump economy. I have to push you along because we dont have much time, is the trump economy really shows what this guy can do as president , doesnt it . He has done, i have to say i agree with about 2 3 or more what he has done, all kinds of things he has done. Stylistically we have differences. Style works. I wish, you know, i could say things like, i dont think he is a racist but i wish he would do more to show he would not. What i show, i took their Unemployment Rate to david patrick, one minute to talk about blockchain i know is your passion at the moment now. We have facebook, libra. Where is this going in one minute . Well, blockchain, for 6,000 years humankind has created institutions to solve this problem of trust among us. We all have to trust these institutions. We learned a lot of those institutions get corrupted. So guess what . There is now a way for to us have trust established through cryptography rather than failed human institutions. It will remake civilization. David you hit upon the core i think why we had the financial metdown, was a loss of trust. That kind of if you can invent a system, if you can create a system, you think it may be blockchain that takes the power out of the hands of a couple of socalled smart individuals somewhere in the central bank and put it in the hands of the people, you have a system that could regain trust, dont you agree . Hallelujah, brother. Hallelujah. Called tzero. We built blockchain on wall street called tvero. You got it exactly, brother. You have it exactly. David why we love each other, we think alike. Patrick, so sorry. I wish we had more time. No, no. David patrick byrne, founder of oversight. Listen to this guy. He knows what the future is. He is absolutely right. Wrong on President Trump at beginning but come around the to the right side. Breaking news, President Trump tweeting this out, china and europe playing big currency manipulation, we talked about it with patrick byrne. Playing the manipulation game, pumping money into their system in order to compete with the u. S. We should match and continue to be dummies who sit back and politely watch as other countries continue to play their games as they have for many years. So far not having effect on the market itself. We are still on the plus side, in record territory for the s p. More varney right after this. Youre smart, eat you already knew that. But its also great for finding the perfect used car. Youll see what a fair price is and you can connect with a truecar certified dealer. Now youre even smarter. This is truecar. With tough food, your dentures may slip and fall. Fixodent ultramax hold gives you the strongest hold ever to lock your dentures. So now you can eat tough food without worry. Fixodent and forget it. David now that one i love. That one i really love. Susan very appropriate for july 4th. David it is. It is. We want a sunny july 4th. I think well have a sunny won in washington as well. That is genuinely happy song. You cant listen to that without smiling. Susan i agree. David here comes the sun, by the beatles. Cant look at board without smiling. There is a wall of worry but it keeps climbing. Our economy is strong. The rest of the world might have a slowdown but not here in the United States. It is slowing down, but not generally speaking. We have a very strong economy. Oil is up a little bit. S p, put that back up. We are still in record territory on the s p. The closing record for the s p is 2973. Were well above that right now. We have an early close today. Closing at 1 00 eastern time. The markets do. If we hold on to the lead. Stay up above 2973 until then, we will close with record high on the s p. Weekly oil inventories, ashley. Give me the numbers. Ainsley here comes the oil. Down 1. 09 million barrels. A drawdown of little over a million bears. We expected a drawdown of 3 million. There is concern the Global Economy slowing down. Last week we had the record 12 millionbarrel drawdown. That is not the case this week. Perhaps we bring oil prices down. David but not today. Ainsley not today. Opec is threatening to production levels. David a cuban company. Susan Many Companies see cuba propping up illegitimate regime of maduro in venezuela. Theyre still getting a little oil from venezuela. Susan theyre targeting cuban staterun oil export company today in the new sanctions. Also lifting sanctions off an italian tanker, oil tankerrun business because they have actually proving that they are not complicit with maduros regime. So giving and taking away as well. We should remind our viewers, that the Trump Administration has been squeezing cuba because of their supports for maduro and venezuela, including by the way canceling travel, the cruise ships that were able to travel to cuba. That is how they got a lot of hard currency. David what is extraordinary, the regime in venezuela is giving oil to the cubans at the same time the venezuelan people are lining up in the streets for hours, sometimes days, literally camping out in the streets to fill up their tank with gas. Just extraordinary. Switching gears to apple. Our next guest saying they were the real winner in the g20 summit. Dave ives, Equity Research managing director. Dan, not dave. Forgive me, dan. So why is the apple the winner when china and the u. S. Say well cool it on tariffs. Comes down to foxconn. I view as 20, 25dollars overhang in the stock. They see from demand and supply perspective. The tariffs was potentially a gut punch, when you look at cook and apple, they came out of g20 smelling roses. It comes down to the quarter, ultimately what demand is looking like in china. David what about the dustup over the design guy getting kicked out of apple, not getting kicked out, leaving to start his own company and tim cook is left without a design genius . Will that hurt apple . Jony ive is core, success of apple last 30 years. His team has stepped back last few years. The tea leaves were there. Cook, no doubt pressure should on the team and him there. You got services, you have streaming. Their backs are against the wall. When you look at china, that is one overhang with him, but no doubt definitely more wood to chop in terms of demand, services, ultimately restoring growth and at cupertino. David companies change all the time. Microsoft managed to do that but it is that design, genius of design that drew customers to apple in the first place. They dont want to lose that moniker, do they . It is still important jony will be involved with apple. There is bench in terms of a design team. No doubt, innovation and the brand, that is the golden brand. That is what they built. I dont view it as a massive step back but i do think it is important that he is still involved through his company in terms of apple. Thats key because Going Forward from design and going into 5g, apple cannot lose any steam going against samsung and others. David keith fitzgerald, i dont know if you know him, couple days ago he said over 24 months apple could double value stock price, what do you think . In our opinion it is a screaming buy, some the of the parts, Services Business is worth 4, 450 billion. The china cloudy think adds 20, 25. It is all about services. Apple continues to be a name going into the next step of growth. More and more investors recognize that. David tesla made another step, they delivered and more than expected which is very unusual, highly unusual. What do you think . Their back was up against the wall. Musk did a major step in right direction for tesla. Unit growth, specifically model 3s. A lot of dooms day scenarios out there, took it off the table. Still an uphill battle over the second half. Can they hit unit growth . Can they do it profitably . For tesla and musk, something they needed. They are pounding their chest a bit. The bulls are cheering the news. It comes down to the growth story next six to 18 month. David what about customers in america . They never warmed up to electric cars . Yes they did in niche categories, highpriced tesla and highpriced electric cars but not massive but that is what tesla has to do . They have to form a base of consumers out there. It has to be supply side driven chain to get consumers. Never been successful in america. Can they do it . 1. 52 of overall cars are ev. That is going 7 globally. David will it here . That is why right now youre seeing every car coming and going after ev. In our opinion it is going to be a generational sort of shift. David i think its a tough sell. Its a tough sell, a lot is about price points. That is why the 70,000dollar versus 35 or 38. Why model 3 is so key. Not just for tesla but overall ev demand in the night. David right. Again the question is, whether you can form that Consumer Base. Look people werent buying personal computers before they were invented. So you can create an audience. You can create a Consumer Base but i dont see it happening yet. It is definitely a prove me stock. Its a prove me company. David thats right. Why it is fanatical, one of the emotional bullbear stories i have covered in 20 years. David have a wonderful july 4th. Youre a great patriot. Telling me about a medal of honor Series Netflix has. I definitely will tune into that. Have a wonderful holiday. David breaking news. President trump tweeting about tomorrows salute to america. This man is on a tweet storm now. Ashley yes he is. David. Cost of our salute is very little compared to what it is worth. We own the airplanes and pilots. The airport is right next door, andrews, all we need is fuel. We own the attention and all. Fireworks are donated by two of the greats. Gucci people. Nice. With a exclamation point, definitely nice. Donald trump, our president. Coming up next we have a cyber expert who says huawei devices have secret backdoors that could allow chinese intel to conduct cyberattacks. Are we giving huawei too much now . Next hour i will speak with the cofounder and ceo after Company Called thirsty. They pair liquor brands, delivery retailers to get alcohol straight to your door a lot cheaper than at the liquor store. Ashley okay. David now the dow industrials are on pace for a record close as well. Look at this. Were in triple digits, folks. This is really good news right before a holiday on a holiday week. The s p is already in record territory. All it has to do is close above 2973 to be a record close as well. Were looking at record closes all over the place. A very good markets day as the President Point the out in one of his tweets today. Government staff are being told to treat huawei as if it is blacklisted despite President Trump saying he will allow American Companies to do business with huawei. Susan, what is the news . Susan a lot of confusion. Looks like the enforcement officials are still treating huawei as if they are blacklisted. In an internal email to enforcement staff on monday the Deputy Director of the office of export enforcement, he says basically all applications should still be considered on merit, flagged with language noting this party is on the entity list. Evaluate the associated license review policy under part 744. Now we have Peter Navarro, the trays visor, also speaking about huawei as well. Huawei, the guidance in terms of guidance from the white house, treating huawei Going Forward, treat it as a light ban. By low component from the u. S. David well ask him. He will be on bulls bears. Youre here on friday. Susan maybe not. David i will be there. So will Peter Navarro on friday at 5 00 p. M. Our next guest is ceo of finite state. He investigated huawei devices. He found secret backdoors that could allow chinese intel to conduct cyberattacks. Come in, matt. Are you concerned about the deal may be cooking between china and u. S. On huawei . Thanks for having me on. Definitely our goal was to provide data around the risks and we feel like with this report, policymakers around the world know a lot more about what those potential risks are. David they do. Hopefully making more informed decisions. David that is largely good to you. Youre one of the white hat hackers. Youre a good guy hacker. You figure out what the weak points are in the worldwide system, how to block those weaknesses. Do you consider this concession to china to essentially allow u. S. Chip companies to still deal with huawei . Is that a problem for you . I think there are two different issues at hand here. American Companies Selling components to huawei. There is huawei selling components back into the u. S. David yes. In terms of infrastructure. I think they need to be looked at somewhat independently. David okay. So for me u. S. Companies selling to huawei isnt of a particular security risk. Huawei devices potentially coming into future 5g infrastructure is a different story. David but thats a very important distinction because so far as what i have heard, what susan is reporting, that what we are talking about now is just the u. S. Side selling chips to huawei, and that part you wouldnt have problems with . I dont, as a security expert, have any particular issues with that. That would be a policy decision. David what happens if it does go the other way . You know, what our reporter uncovered is that huawei devices, types of devices go into infrastructure inside Cellular Networks themselves, do have a lot of vulnerabilities in them. On average, 100 known vulnerabilities. They have potential backdoor vulnerabilities a default account or cryptographic key would facilitate access. David matt, very interesting stuff. Thank you for the work you do. You help protect the country. I appreciate it. Thank you very. David Navy Seal Edward Gallagher joined fox friends this morning where he spoke for the first time being found not guilty of war crimes. We have some of what he said this morning coming up. Nike is standing by the decision to remove its betsy ross flagged theme sneaker. Well ask Brian Kilmeade about all of this stuff. He is the man man in the know. I saw him here at 5 00. He gets up a lot earlier than i do to cover the news. He will be up next. David we have records all over the place. Lets start with the dow. 28,788. We are closing 1 00 p. M. Eastern time. Were close to that. We have records all over the place. Well make records with Brian Kilmeade because Brian Kilmeade is a record maker all time he joins me simulcast. Dont be afraid. You dont hear a british accent. This is david asman, not Stuart Varney. I talked to you earlier before you went on. You had a lot of stories locked up. I want to talk to you about a story yesterday, nike. People died for the American Flag. It doesnt represent slavery. It represent freedom. That is why people carry it into battle. Thats why people die for it. What the hell is going on with nike . What he says, kaepernick and he and others expressed to nike, that flag has been adopted by some hate groups, white supremacist groups, it could be sending the wrong signal. They should take it off. They said no problem. They spent money to ship it. Now you have to take it off the shelves. If you have one of these theyre worth more. People put it on ebay. That is one thing. I find it unbelievably offensive nike would allow hate groups to hijack betsy rosss flag of original 13 colonies with 13 stripes. Please, i dont care what group springs up tomorrow, what fraternity, might go into action the next day, we know what it means. Dont give way to what they think it means. David where does it end . George washington was a slave owner. That was the bad thing about george washington. But the great things about him being the father of this nation, does his slave ownership mean we change the name of our nations capitol . Soon. Jefferson, i dont know if you saw charlottessville, virginia, will not celebrate Thomas Jeffersons birthday. I went to william and mary last summer. That is where jefferson went to college. They have one statue. They tried to low ball the whole thing. He was founder of declaration of independence. His family born into that had slaves. Gagger washington took over mount vernon in 1750. It was populated with slaves that were free. David i dont think americans would allow it to happen. We have to move on, because there is an incredible story that developed over the course of the week, over the course of the past several weeks which is of course navy seal Eddie Gallagher. He was on fox friends. He spoke for the first time after being found not guilty of war crimes and murdering a isis teenager back in 2017. Here is some of what he had to say. I believe they tried to frame me as a criminal from the getgo but you know, we knew the truth the whole time. We knew i was innocent of these charges the whole time. I overcame it by having my strong wife with me the whole time. My legal team. David brian, he credited, he listened to that interview, he credited you guys at fox friends for staying on the case, really putting the pressure on. The president chimed in as well. What do you feel about the verdict . Especially pete hegseth. Especially sean gallagher, eddies brother who was relentless telling his story. Then eddie, the thing that really struck us, while they deliberated, wait for his day in court, they put him in a horrible prison littered with sexual predators, to the point, they said while you wait, he told his family not to voice i him, it was not safe. He had representation he was told he couldnt meet with. When the president saw this on our show, President Trump said listen, let the process play out, no way we should treat a navy seal like this while we waited for the process to play out. Bernie kerik played a major role. He gets two great lawyers, mike mukaseys son. Somebody else admitted he died. Prison is a rough place. There is Something Else. There are other men in prison for crimes they feel they were unjustly put in prison for in leavenworth. We have to look at them too, not just Eddie Gallagher but a great time for him and his family. David heroes are not perfect but they are still heroes. They have to be recognized as heroes. He is a hero in my eyes. Thank god i think the jury made the right decision. Brian congratulations on your work. Happy july 4th, my friend. Fly the flag. All flags. Betsy rosss flag. All flags. David god bless you. Im with you. Thank you for blessing me. David were remembering a icon in the Business World today. Auto executive lee iacocca passed away at 94. He came from humble beginnings. Was a son of italian immigrants. He rose to one of the most powerful players in the auto industry. Got his start at form that led the engineering team. He led the design team for the mustang. He switched over, landed on his feet, hired as chrysler ceo. Helped the company avoid bankruptcy, securing a loan from the federal government. Not all people were in favor of that. But he did it. He might be best remembered as pitchman. One of the few ceos who went on tv to sell his products. He did so successfully with panache. He coined that phrase, if you can find a better car, buy it. Watch. If you dont agree the best chrysler ever made, the very best america has to offer at a sensible price, then im in the wrong business. Oh, one more thing, if you can find a better car, buy it. David iacocca was 94. Rest in peace. Well be right back. With all ths why go with anybody else . We know their rates are good, we know that theyre always going to take care of us. It was an instant savings and i should have changed a long time ago. It was funny because when we would call another insurance company, hey would say oh we cant beat usaa were the webber family. Were the tenneys were the hayles, and were usaa members for life. Get your usaa Auto Insurance quote today. Play it cool and escape heartburn fast with new tums chewy bites cooling sensation. Tum tum tum tums david it is 11 00 a. M. On the dot here in new york, 8 00 a. M. In california. Im david asman in for Stuart Varney. Stuarts going to be back on monday. Lets get right to your money. We are making records all over the place. The markets right now are both the dow jones and the s p are in record territory. The dow jones, lets see, is at 26,881. All it has to do is close at 26,828 to be a record. We only have two hours to go before the close. The s p has to close above 2973 and it looks like we may end the day in records. President trumps 2020 Reelection Campaign has raised 105 million and a dramatic new poll from Quinnipiac University finds senator Kamala Harris and joe biden, they are now tied. That is a dramatic move. Joining us is kayleigh mcennany. Do you see joe biden continuing to slide . Well see. To us it doesnt matter if its joe biden or Kamala Harris. You are asking do i want one radical lightweight leftist or another radical lightweight leftist. Either are fine with us. You saw they all raised their hand when they were asked if Illegal Immigrants should get health care. That tells you all you need to know. These are all the same and they are radical. David you notice when joe biden raised his hand, he kind of raised one finger, then kind of pulled it down. He didnt seem to be absolutely sure of what was going on there, did he . His hand raise was low and slow, as it was described to me. But that hand was certainly up. The second time when he was asked about decriminalizing border crossings he did some weird thing like that. David Something Like that. Now, he is not necessarily for the Green New Deal but Kamala Harris is. If she takes over as the lead, we are going to have the lead democratic candidate in favor of tripling the federal budget. Thats a 90 trillion plan over ten years time. That would triple the federal budget which is already bloated n my mind. Is there any way americans would go for that as a policy platform . No, because look, when you personalize this for american citizens and quantify it, 93 trillion to eliminate cows and buildings and airplanes and retrofit every building, all of that would cost every American Household 600,000. I dont know if you have that lying around. I certainly dont. I dont think the average American Family does. But that is what it would cost to radically change american society, as china continues being the chief emitter of co2 and theres overall no status change worldwide to co2 emissions. David i dont think even Stuart Varney could give us all that much amount of money. Theres no way. Kayleigh, stay right there. President trump is changing the annual fourth of July Celebrations on the Washington Mall. Not everybodys happy in the way hes changing them. Hillary vaughn joining us from the mall where preparations are under way for tomorrows july 4th celebration. Hillary . Reporter hey, david. Well, the tanks have arrived here. Behind me are bradley fighting vehicles, theyre not technically tanks but they look a lot like some of the tanks that were also going to see today. They weigh about 30 tons each and they had quite the journey here. They took a train from fort stewart in georgia all the way here to d. C. They were so big, they had problems getting under some of the overpasses so they had a crane lift them over the overpass. They made their way on flatbed trailers here because they are so heavy, there was concern that the roads would be damaged if they drove directly on them. They will eventually be rolled out here. You can see the Lincoln Memorial, that is where the president will deliver his remarks, the Fireworks Show will also be here. Its going to be the largest Fireworks Show and the longest Fireworks Show that they have ever seen here at the United States capital. The tanks will be driven essentially on these wooden pallets they are laying down to protect the ground underneath of them. You will also see fighter jets do flyovers, marine one, the blue angels, in addition to the amazing Fireworks Show. A lot of questions about how much this is going to cost. Reportedly the National Park service set aside 2. 5 million for this event but the actual cost is still up in the air. The president has tweeted this morning that he thinks the actual cost will be much less compared to what this whole event is worth, saying they already of course own the tanks and the fighter jets and everything is right here so hes expecting it not to cost a lot. Well have to see what the final tally is for this. But its going to be quite the extravagant event. The president saying it should be one for a lifetime. David the president also said, by the way, we are getting free fireworks. Well see about that. Well see whether the bill ever comes in. Good to see you. Thank you very much. Come back in, kayleigh mcenany. So President Trump is getting criticized for this. Some people going so far as to say that this is the sort of thing they do in totalitarian regimes, suggesting we are moving towards fascism. How do you respond . Its ridiculous. Leave it to the left to have a problem with a patriotic day celebrating america. Thats what this is about. The president has said my speech is going to be one that is inclusive, one that is about celebrating this country. This isnt a campaign rally. This is about the fourth of july. Leave it to the left to find a problem with american patriotism. Its because President Trumps name is on it that they have any sort of problem with this. David msnbc has announced they are not going to show it because they buy into the thing this is too militaristic, that its political, which is fine with us because that gives us a lot more audience than we already have. We are killing them even when theyre there. When theyre not there we are going to kill them even more. Thank you very much. Enjoy the fourth of july. Thank you for being here. You, too, david. David take a look at gold. Gold was popping dramatically earlier and it looks to be coming back up again. Its up 14. 30 right now to 1,422. Lot of people are looking to whats happening in europe, where we have a new or presumably a new head of the central bank of europe, coming in who believes very strongly in negative Interest Rates as a way to get their economy moving rather than cutting taxes, cutting regulations which you know they have many more of than we do. They are thinking that the resolution comes from their central bank. If they have negative Interest Rates there, that makes the value of gold go up, because the value of their currency will go down. There are multiple reports that instagram is suffering an outage. Kristina has details on this. Good to see you. All the millenials around the globe are screaming right now. No, there is reports as of 8 45 a. M. Eastern time in northeast United States as well as northeast europe that you are starting to see an outage where pictures arent loading, videos arent loading, theres error messages as well. This comes three weeks after instagram had an outage that lasted almost two hours. I, on the other hand, am able to access it right now. David i think we have an Instagram Account i rarely use. We used it because i helped you create an Instagram Story on there. Ashley its working. There you go. Maybe they solved it since then. Its an issue for them. This is the second time in less than a month. David yeah. Well, it is the millenial way of sending messages, sending videos and we actually sent a video at bulls bears once. We use it, too. Jon voight will be at President Trumps rally for freedom. Thats tomorrow of course on july 4th. He will be standing right alongside gold star families. First, he is stopping by Varney Company. Coming up next, we will talk to jon voight and a gold star mom. You dont want to miss that. What do you look for when you trade . I want free access to research. Yep, td ameritrades got that. Free access to every platform. Yeah, that too. I dont want any trade minimums. Yeah, i totally agree, they dont have any of those. I want to know what im paying upfront. Yes, absolutely. Do you just say yes to everything . Hm. Well i say no to kale. Mm. Yeah, they say if you blanch it its better, but that seems like a lot of work. No hidden fees. No platform fees. No trade minimums. And yes, its all at one low price. Td ameritrade. David the president is tweeting up a storm today. He just tweeted this about the census and here it is. This is very interesting, because it may seem to be contradicted by stuff the Commerce Department said earlier. Quote, the news reports about the department of commerce dropping its quest to put the Citizenship Question on the census is incorrect or to state it differently, fake. We are absolutely moving forward as we must because of the importance of the answer to this question. Now, let me read to you the statement by commerce secretary wilbur ross. Forgive me for turning away as i look at the computer. I respect the supreme court, but strongly disagree with its ruling regarding my decision to reinstate a Citizenship Question on the 2020 census. The Census Bureau has started the process of printing the questionnaires without the question. My focus and that of the bureau and the entire department is to conduct a complete and accurate census. So he didnt say that he completely agrees he didnt say he agrees with the decision but they are going to be printing the questionnaire without that question. Ashley they are printing it without the question but they are still going to do a thorough review which means what are you going to do, stop the printing and reprint . David thats exactly what the president kristina thats 1. 5 billion paper forms theyre looking at. They are still going with the process. They could renege it. David well see. This process according to the president is ongoing. Any suggestion otherwise is incorrect at least from what the president is saying. A big event in d. C. Tomorrow. President trumps salute to america being held at the d. C. Mall and our next guest will be there. Joining me, Academy Award winning actor jon voight and karen vaughn, a gold star mother and author of world changer, a mothers story. My greetings to both of you. Its an honor to speak to both of you. Jon, first to you. Tell us what youre doing to help the gold star families specifically. Well, i received a lovely invitation through a friend of mine whos an actress and conservative talk show gal on radio, and it was from karen vaughn and moms for america, and it portrayed this event, you know, 40 gold star moms are coming to d. C. And making a statement against this slide toward socialism which is against the constitution and everything their children and husbands fought for. So i looked at that and i always look at this holiday as a very special one and this was a perfect way to celebrate it, come and be by the side of these great people. David karen, you are the heart of this country. You really are the heart of this country, the mothers and the wives and the Family Members who have suffered from their loved ones going to war who endured the worst possible sacrifice, losing that loved one, but even those who have come back in good physical shape sometimes carry scars inside that you dont see for years. So thank you and bless you for what youve done. But tell us what you can continue to do particularly in the light of what jon was talking about, the move towards socialism, but even i think even worse than that, the move to denigrate patriotism itself which we see on display this week. Well, thats very troubling and you know, i spend quite a bit of time trying to talk to students in high school about what theyre being told about america versus what the truth is about america, and american exceptionalism and the greatness of our nation, and yes, my son aaron gave his life for the american way of life. Every Single Person who signs up to fight in our armed forces does that for a purpose. They do it to protect and defend the constitution of the United States and our way of life, and so you know, as jon said as we see this slide toward socialism, i made a Facebook Post that said if you are a gold star Family Member and would like to have a voice, join me in washington, d. C. For the fourth of july. It just turned into something monumental of course when jon lent his voice to it. But if i could, i want to tell you, i just found this post on facebook or excuse me, on google. I google searched what does socialism mean because i wanted to know what people thought it meant. I just want to read this. David im afraid to hear what it says. This is what people think socialism means. Socialism is an economic and political system where the ways of making a living factories, offices, et cetera, are owned by the workers who run them, and the people who depend on them. Meaning the value made belongs to the people who make it instead of a group of private owners. Weve got a real problem here with what people perceive to be the truth and what the reality actually is. Thats why gold star families who have made tremendous sacrifices to protect our way of life for 243 years are standing up together this week in washington, d. C. Saying not on our watch, we will educate the American People, we will do it with the dignity of a mother and a wife and we will say no, no, not today, not tomorrow and not ever. David you know, one of the freedoms that your son and my son, by the way, fought for is the freedom of private property, is the freedom to own what you have worked for and to hold on to that. A lot of these proposals youre hearing right now from some of the Democratic Candidates involve going in and taking back, forcibly taking from you something you have already worked for, you have already paid taxes on, confiscation tax which is what the wealth tax really is, jon, i mean, there is that economic side but let me just focus on the patriotic side for a moment and this d denigration of the flag. I think what nike is doing is denigrating the value of the flag by listening to Colin Kaepernick instead of listening to patriots who enjoy the idea of it being put on a piece of clothing. What do you think of that . Well, of course, its very disturbing to hear that kind of thing going on. But you know, its going on because these young people are not getting any information about our government and our way of life. The major institutions in this country, the most prestigious, the majority of them, great majority of them, have no courses required on history, the history of our country and our government. David on the contrary, jon the people who are history majors david forgive me for interrupting but its just the contrary, that you have required courses teaching you stuff about capitalism thats wrong, teaching you stuff about socialism thats wrong. Absolutely. David so the only requirements you have are requirements which give you bad information. We want to leave on a positive note. Quickly from both of you, jon first, then to karen, what does the flag mean to you, jon . Well, it means listen, its this wonderful way of life that we have been blessed with, that this country has been blessed with. If you want to know what it means in terms of the comparison to this socialism that is creeping in, you listen to the people who have come to this country from communist countries where they dont have these freedoms and you will see. They are frightened to death. They say jon, whats happening, whats happening, we saw this happening in our country. America is the greatest. I say yes, it is. It is the greatest. We have been the beneficiaries of it. We want to protect it. David karen, five or ten seconds. Go ahead. Representative republic is the noblest form of government. The flag represents a representative republic that was hard fought for. 1. 3 million have given their lives for it and over 41 million have fought to protect it. We owe them the honor of protecting it in the generations to come. David karen vaughn, jon voight, god bless you both. Thank you very much. Have a wonderful july 4th. Have fun. Appreciate it. Check the big board. We are in record territory, ladies and gentlemen. If it keeps at this point, both the Dow Jones Industrial average and the s p 500 will break records on the day before july 4th. Somehow thats terribly fitting. Now this. A new report claiming there are so many streaming choices like netflix and hulu and all the others, its leading to paralysis among consumers. So heres a question. When you sit down to watch tv, how long does it usually take you to decide what to watch . We will tell you how long it takes the average tv viewer to decide, coming up. Every day, invesco combines ideas with technology, data with inspiration, investors with solutions. Because the possibilities of life and investing are greater when we come together. Oh, look, karolyn, weve got a mathematician on our hands check it out now you can schedule a callback or reschedule an appointment, even on nights and weekends. Todays xfinity service. Simple. Easy. Awesome. Id rather not. David im willing to guarantee we have all been there before. There are so many streaming choice, netflix, hulu, all the video on demand services, leading to a quote, they will probably have a pill for this, paralysis among consumers. This story is by kristina. Kristina i have a question for you guys and our viewers. When you are at home flipping through netflix, hulu, amazon prime, how much time do you spend flipping and david five minutes. Ashley seven minutes. Kristina did you read the story . Are you cheating . That is the average. Youre the winner david you dont get a prize for being an average person. Kristina so this report is according to neilsens total audio report, they say seven minutes, too much choice. They also say theres a spike amongst people that have internet enabled capabilities. Either you are watching more streaming on your phone, your smart tv, but, but at the end, move people still revert back to traditional tv, their favorite channel, 58 when they cant figure out what to watch. You go right back, what is it for you, hgtv . Fox business. David when im home, its too late, you know. Were in replays. Thats the problem, i work so late. Check out this massive palm beach estate. Its sold for 105 million. 13 bedrooms, 14 bathrooms. More bathrooms than bedrooms. Thats interesting. 37,000 square feet. It is reportedly the most expensive sale in palm beach ever. By the way, the previous record was set in 2008 by President Trumps Palm Beach Home which sold for 95 million. Which brings us to our next story. New york citys mansion tax went into effect on july 1 and this tax may be pushing more people to move to low tax florida. We are talking to south Florida Real Estate stars, samantha dibianchi, next. That market, if it closes at 26,829, its a record. Its well over that right now. The s p is also in record territory. So its a great day for the markets. Even the day before july 4th. Nobody thought this would happen on a holiday week. Meanwhile, tesla, the company set a record for deliveries in the second quarter. Tesla saying it delivered a total of 95,200 vehicles in the last quarter. Total deliveries included 77,550 model 3 cars. Thats kind of the middle class version which they hope to expand on. Now to neike. At least 12 pairs of the nike sneakers with the betsy ross flag are now selling for thousands of dollars. One pair sold for 1,000. That was actually cheap because another pair sold for 2500. Kristina, nike has responded to the controversy. Tell us what they said. Kristina its getting quite a bit of coverage. The Company Finally had to respond. I reached out to them yesterday. They did send a statement saying that nike made the decision to halt distribution of the air max 1, the quick strike fourth of july based on concerns it could unintentionally offend and detract from the nations patriotic holiday. You not only have that statement, but nike did continue to say they were going to go ahead and still create another nike manufacturing plant as well as provide 500 jobs. This comes after the governor of arizona said that he was going to pull all of the financial incentives because nike decided not to put out this shoe because in their mind, its a flag, its patriotic, why is everybody making such a big deal out of it. Even Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell also voiced his opinion. David tell you what, its a tough sell for nike to say that they pulled it because it would be a distraction from july 4th holiday. What do you think its been as a result of pulling it . That statement is not going to fly, nike. Better come up with something better. Now to this. New york citys mansion tax went into effect on july 1 which levies a onetime fee on home purchases of a million bucks or more. Going to be a lot of homes selling for 999,000. Joining us, samantha dibianchi. Good to see you. This has got to be pushing more new yorkers to florida, right . Well, of course. Of course im going to say that and of course im very happy david i dont think theres any question it would. Go ahead. Right. We have the highest population migration between states which is no news, but its going to continue to get stronger between new york and florida. In 2018 alone, we have seen over 63,000 people move to florida. Those are very big numbers. On top of that, the people from the northeast are driving our home sales so as opposed to last year, nationwide, we saw a decrease from 1 nationwide from home sales, but in miamidade, palm beach and broward counties, we actually saw home sales increase anywhere from 3. 9 to 6. 6 . That is because of all of our new yorkers coming down here, sunny south florida. David on the other hand, samantha, im sure you saw that wall street journal piece saying that price of real estate is going down in miami beach because people are fed up with the crowds, with the noise, et cetera. Whats your response to that . I mean, look, thats what happens when you have a world class city, whether its here, you have paris, new york city, sydney, toronto, you know. When you david but people go to miami beach to chill. They dont come to new york to chill. Oh, come on. Maybe you. But come on, have some fun, enjoy the night life, the entertainment, the dining, the restaurants, whatever it is. I mean, it is what it is. What i will say, something to look out for is the amount of time from a home thats listed to a home that has sold, that has been slowing down slightly. In Miamidade County that time period from last year has an increase of 34 and that might be because these people from lets say new york, they are trying to sell their properties and its taking a bit more time. Maybe they need to sell before they buy or something to that extent. Maybe they dont truly realize the tax benefits that we have here in florida. But you know, i think later on this year, we are going to see those numbers increase from that 63,000 to quite a few more. David i dont mean to sell your package for you, but it could be the best of both worlds because at the same time that new york is making it tougher to live in, the prices are getting even more inviting down in florida. It could be the perfect combination of buyer and seller. Right. Exactly. Nows a great time to buy for anyone, whether you are in the luxury market or a firsttime home buyer. With rates as low as they are, prices i think are slowly coming down a bit, which its a win win for everyone and its a market we generally dont see, where sellers can make money if they are priced correctly and buyers can really get a good deal and lock in great mortgage rates. David all right. You make a great case. Thank you for being here. Appreciate it. Our next guest is a marine veteran with a remarkable Business Success story. Come in, matt. Hes the money smart guy and php agency coowner. Great to see you, matt. Semper fi to you. I know youre a marine veteran. Tell us your story, briefly, if you can. I was a kid that was born here in the chicagoland area. I didnt have aspirations for life after high school. He enlisted into the marine corps, eight years in the marine corps on active duty. In the seventh year i found myself divorced, single father, custody of my son and needed to make a move. I fell into entrepreneurship and the insurance industry. David you fell into entrepreneurship. I love that expression. Did you complete college . I did not complete college. In fact, i attempted to take my g. I. Bill and david i didnt say that to embarrass you. I said that for a reason. Im wondering nowadays if you had to compare a College Degree compared to the lessons that you learned as a marine, which would you say is more valuable . The lessons i learned as a marine because thats world experience, real life in the trenches working with diverse cultures, diverse ethnic backgrounds, socioeconomic differences. It was definitely an education. David you have, when you were in the marine corps, you have a goal, its all about reaching your goals, no matter how hard, no matter how many barriers, its about reaching that goal and you go and get it, right . A hundred percent. The hundred percent work ethic, to be able to work 16, 18 hour days, no problem. 20 hours a day, easy lateral move to entrepreneurship. David where do you go from here . Well david whats your next goal . Our next goal is to make sure we are building the next billion Dollar Company inside this industry. Our goal is to be here as the next billion Dollar Company introduced on fox business. Not only in the United States but also globally. David i wouldnt bet against you. You never bet against a marine and his goal. If you get in the middle of that, you are going to lose. You will be bowled right over. Thank you for coming in. Appreciate it. Glad to be here. David now this. Analysts say netflix could bring in another 1 billion a year if it had an ad supported tier but a lot of people say wait a minute, im paying a monthly bill and im watching ads . Kristina no, this would be a free netflix ad supported opportunity. David in the beginning. Kristina netflix doesnt have that. If anything they pride themselves, they say as a competitive advantage we have no ads but theres this analyst, mark kelly, whos suggesting that should netflix put a free platform that has lots of ads in it, hulu does this, or free or charging just a few dollars, it could bring in roughly a billion dollars in revenue per year. It would reduce their debt level, increase free cash flow, but really, viewers, would you want that . Would you want that platform or is it a matter of time before netflix just goes ahead with it because every other competitor is doing it. They have the basic platform thats cheap with ads in it. David now this. Delta wanting to make flying international a little more enjoyable. The company is offering new perks to people sitting in coach. Isnt that nice. We will tell you what those perks are in just a moment. Democrats on capitol hill blasting Border Patrol and the Trump Administration over those detention centers, even going so far as to call the Border Patrol agents racist. We are on that right after this. David delta adding some first class perks to the economy class. That is fun news. What are the details . Kristina oh, when you first get in, you get a welcome drink and it is a peach bellini. Think about how much sugar that could potentially be. David i dont care. Its free. Kristina i love free things, too. The other thing you can get is a hot towel. They are really trying to step it up, have People Choose delta, give you the first class type of experience, you get the hot towel, then the food that you get, too, the options will be a little bit better. You will also get real cutlery and a nice little place mat. Then another hot towel. Not one, but two. David bellinis mean more to me than hot towels but still, its great stuff. And real silverware. Always liked delta. Wish them the best on that. Now to immigration. The democrats are complaining about Border Patrol agents and the conditions in the detention centers. The democrats have also called the Border Agents racist, antilatino and they are blaming donald trump, of course. Come in, matt schlapp, American Conservative Union chairman. Matt, what gets me more than anything else, the last five patrol agents, Border Patrol agents who were killed in the line of duty over the past couple of years were latinos. They were hispanics. The democrats are now charging hispanic patrol Border Agents who put their lives on the line, some of whom were actually killed, who are hispanics, of being antihispanic. Thats not only idiotic its unpatriotic. You are also forgetting the countless numbers of these migrants or whatever, these people coming up from Central America who find themselves in harms way, whether they are crossing a river, starving, you know, dying of thirst, they take care of these people on a regular basis. The president said we had a humanitarian crisis at the border. Its the president ironically as a republican who is trying to get the funding to make sure that federal employees and democrats are always, arent they always out there saying how they stand up for federal employees. These Border Patrol agents, they are federal employees and they are Law Enforcement and its the president of the United States who is saying look, they need the funding because we have a humanitarian crisis. He was called liar. They said its a phony crisis. Now its the democrats saying theres a humanitarian crisis and its President Trumps fault. I think the American People see through this. David for a solid year, the democrats were saying there is no problem, there is no crisis, its a manufactured crisis, over and over and over again. They did nothing to improve the facilities as the facilities were being overrun. Now most of the Border Agents are working in the facilities instead of out on the border because they have a thousand people where the limit used to be a hundred people, and they are complaining about facilities now after they are the ones who wouldnt support the facilities. Thats right. Remember, President Trumps solution is to change the laws on the asylum process to have people stay outside the country if they are waiting for their hearing, to change these loopholes. Aoc and the democrats, their only solution is let these people out, let them into the interior of our country, let as many people come here who want to come here, give them all these Free Services now including Health Insurance, when middle class americans are having trouble affording their own Health Insurance and millions of them dont get it because they cant afford it, its disgraceful. David and we should remember that immigration is now the number one issue in voters minds, in the survey thats have been done and precisely the moment Americans Care most about security at the border, the democrats again repeat these mistakes in terms of not taking the issue seriously. I think thats a losing issue for democrats, a winning issue for President Trump going into the election. However, i got to say one thing, matt. The republicans did not do a great job going into the 2018 election, the midterms, and it cost them in that, in selling the economic progress extending directly because of and by the tax cuts, the deregulation, the reempowering of our Energy Industry. They could have sold the economic Success Story of President Trump better and they didnt. What are they planning to do in 2020 to turn that around . Well, look, i think politics is about telling stories. And i think the idea here is that everyday average americans have seen their economic prospects get better and the president ought to continue to talk about, and republicans generally should continue to talk about the lowest africanamerican unemployment, hispanic unemployment, employment amongst women, all these groups, but beyond that, its also important that Everyday Americans tell their own stories. I think what donald trump has triggered in this country is this kind of pushback with regular folks who say look, if we get the government to be rightsized and get it out of trying to solve every problem, we can actually have better lives. David they are giving me a wrap but its linking what was done in terms of deregulation, what was done in terms of lowering tax rates, what was done in terms of reenergizing our Energy Industry in america, linking what was done with the progress that the economy, i mean, we are setting a new record today on both the dow and the s p, but again, linking it to what was specifically done to turn the economy around. Why are all these people trying to come to america . Because america is still the best economy on the face of the globe. They want an opportunity. Thats actually the only good part of this crisis on the border. David okay. Got to step up that selling job going into 2020. My opinion, matt. Matt, great to see you. Have a wonderful july 4th celebration, all right . Same to you. God bless betsy ross. David absolutely. Right on. Check canopy growth. The ceo is apparently out and that is not affecting the stock particularly much. We will hopefully have a chance to ask him what happened. Check boeing. The company is promising money for those affected by the 737 max crashes in indonesia and oo ethiopian, awful deadly crashes. Ashley 100 million in funds that boeing says will help the family and community of those affected. They say it will support education hardship and Living Expenses for those families impacted by those two crashes, community programs. It will be a multiyear funded thing. In a statement, of course, they are definitely trying to win some decent p. R. Boeing as we know has been with the 737 max its been one thing after another. Boeing saying that look, we know every person who steps aboard one of our airplanes places their trust in us. We are focused on reearning that trust and confidence from our customers. David okay. They still have a long way to go. Well see. And this is just in time for the july 4th celebration. Coming up next, we are talking to the ceo of a Company Called thir thirstie. They pair liquor brands and delivery retailers to get alcohol straight to your door. We need it fast, right . Kristina i do. David check this out. Were going to have fun. Preparations for this years macys fourth of July Fireworks display here in new york city are under way. The fireworks will launch from the brooklyn bridge. The show is going to begin at 9 20 p. M. On the 4th, lasts about 25 minutes. By the way, a word about whats happening in washington. Grucci, with an r is the company putting together the fireworks display and as magnificent as they are going to be in d. C. , they are going to be for free. The president tweeted about that earlier. Just wanted to confirm that. Speaking of july 4th festivities, they are having a party and you run out of booze, but you dont want to get in your car or drive all the way to the liquor store, our next guest has you covered. Come in, the ceo and founder of thirstie, with an ie at the end. They are a liquor delivery service. Good to see you. Thank you for being here. Tell us about how it works. Thank you for having us here. Really appreciate it. We are a commerce enabler for liquor brands and commerce. We did start with direct to Consumer Value proposition but now our solution enables very large billion dollar publicly traded brands to sell directly to consumer in a highly compliant manner. David that means quick and at less of a cost than you would pay at the store . Price sensitivity is clearly an issue. We work really hard to make sure our Retail Partners across the u. S. , we have about 300 Retail Partners, get that bottle to you at the cadence of your wish, whether its in an hour, whether its in a twohour window or the course of the next two or three days. Exactly correct. David im guessing that you are ticking off some middleman somewhere. Which layer of middleman in the process by which liquor comes from the wholesaler, goes to the retailer, are you avoiding . Thats a fantastic question. We spent a lot of time speaking to attorney generals and slas across the u. S. At the end of the day, we are hypercompliant. We still follow the same three tier system. We do not disintermediate the distributor groups so the supply path remains. We just are creating more demand for consumers. David you must have had, because these distributors, i know how these things work, im not casting aspersions, but they have their hooks in the attorney general, they have their hooks in the politicians in all the states in order to get their special deals and keep out competition like you. How have you avoided getting hooked by their hooks . So we have worked with them, we have explained what david you are cooperative. Very, very much so. We have conversations with retailers, conversations with distributors david but you are undercutting them. We actually arent. We are making sure the supply continues. We are creating demand so if you look at it, the retailers are the ones that get that bottle to you in an hour. If the brands and the marketplaces are creating more demand, the retailers need more supply. The supply path for me is intact, they in turn go to the distributors. The distributors win, the retailers win and the brands also. David lets bring it right to the consumer now. Give me the situation that i painted at first. Im at home, i have run out of liquor at a july 4th party, what do i do . I look you up on the website, call you, what . At the moment, we are working with some of the largest brands, we have a program live with lvmh, you go to the website, you pick up clos. 9. Com. You can go to makers mark. Com. There is an interesting joint venture and you can choose the poison of your choice. It shows up at your door in an hour. David i wouldnt call it poison. Medication, call it medication. Much better.
