Adam it started this morning emac when the first the guardian published excerpts from the book and quotes from steve bannon in regards to that book and bannon confirmed to fox those are indeed the quotes and he used and i want to begin where bannon begins which is that meeting for instance with donald trump jr. , Jared Kushner and the russian lawyer and ties to the russian government at trump tower and bannon called that treasonist. He said even if you thought this was not unpatriotic or bad, and i happen to think that its all of that you should have called the fbi immediately. Bannon says of the people at the meeting and by the way bannon in the book says that he believes theres zero chance that donald trump jr. Did not take the russians up to meet his father, whose a candidate. So youve got bannon statement and then the white house, President Trump issuing a statement about steve bannon saying when he was fired, he not only lost his job, he lost his mind. Steve doesnt represent my base, hes only in it for himself and then there is someone quoted in the book, thomas ba. There are serious statements like in the excerpt that appeared in new York Magazine which appears that steve bannon is talking directly to michael wolf the author of the reporter given almost unfettered access to the white house during the past year but then there are other quotes that are from being relayed to michael wolf by somebody else like barrick said this or friend of trump said that, or this occurred in a meeting between steve bannon and roger ales, one of whom is now dead and the other of whom will have to be asked whether it was he, he was the source for those meetings or those depiction of that meeting with roger ales is accurate but look, the quotes attributed to steve bannon at least in the article that ive read which is an excerpt from the book sound authentically bannon im glad to see he came forward and acknowledged that was him. I cant imagine that Jared Kushner would be engaged in laundering money underneath the table from russians. That just sounds ridiculous so i think this is another thing on bannons part he likes being a guy who takes the grenade, pulls the pin and rolls it out there in the same room where he is and watches it go off, so i dont take much of that. We risked our future, we risked everything and we marched peacefully in the streets for more than 11 months and all that we got was a statement of support and a couple of media reports and that was it. The regime kept killing and kept torturing people until they forced us to actually carrie weapons to defend ourselves because they just kept watching. President obama made a clear promise about the red line for the use of chemical weapons in syria. They killed 1500 people with gas and unfortunately president obama didnt do anything and that particular moment, most of the world and including a lot and lot of people around the world like me who are looking up to the United States as the good guys, as the people who are going to come and help us and save us, but that moment obama destroyed the credibility of the United States. The administration mays the argument when you give corporations these taxes, theyre going to create jobs, give people higher wages. I dispute that point because corporations are flush with cash today and theyre not doing that liz okay even msnbcs parent comcast is giving out bonuses and doing more Capital Investment but you know, msnbc anchors you saw that steve even Washington Post say these companies are trying to favor the white house, stock buybacks and dividends arent good but bad for the economy what do you think . Its racist because somehow, it implies that their aspiration s in iran are as trivial as someone who gets blocked from a president ial twitter feed but has access to the median expression methods that we have in the United States and trivializes their aspirations by making the false and inappropriate comparison. Liz youre talking about the soft bigotry of low expectations for the iranian people. Can you give us your assessment of how the media is covering this brutal regime and what its doing to its people . I have to tell you other than the conservative outlets and fox news, to see how little is being covered i look at some of the headlines in the New York Times and cbs and msnbc and you wonder which side theyre on and the bottom line is this revolution is not being televised other than on conservative media and the revolution is beginning. Weve had for years my self freedom which are women taking off the hijab, and now we see this in 20 cities bigger than the green revolution in 09. Why . Because theyre confronting all of these cities much more and theyre chanting, bread, jobs and liberty, chanting death to the dictator. These chants will do more, liz, abandon the stereotypes that all muslims are islamics that the left supposedly is on the side of liberals on the side of feminism and yet not covering it the way we are. Made a woman their symbol of resistance, this feels really upside down. We immediate to have women the real war on women going on in the middle east women there struggling with saying we dont want to wear the hijab, but its flipped upside down here in the u. S.
